after years of cheap steamers that lose their blades, or have a floppy keyring loop for removing from the steamer pot, this is a breath of fresh air. Sturdy blades, a great firm center handle for lifting, and collapsible feet for storage: this is a huge improvement.

I really like this steamer, especially the legs. My old steamer had only three pegs to stand on and the broke off. The new steamer has a better leg system . Should last longer.

I use the steamer to “steam” vegetables in my covered wok. It was one of the few that would fit my wok, but the one thing that I like is that it has a strong center post. The center post doesn’t wobble when lifting a loaded steamer out of boiling water.

The quality is better than other steamers that I considered.

This was exactly what I wanted. I bought one that had large legs and a knob to make it easier to remove from the pot but it was so high in the pot that I couldn’t put the lid on.

I just received my Classic Cuisine Food & Rice Steamer & have used it the last two nights in a row. It works very well & the times suggested to steam vegetables is pretty spot on; not too soft & not to hard.

One thing the manual does not tell you, however, is how to clean/descale the base unit & element. THAT is very important! Though I’ve only used the steamer twice, there is a slight buildup already on the element.

I googled how to clean that & most stated that you need to pour 3 cups of vinegar in the base along, along with water until the reservoir is full. Turn the steamer on & allow to heat for 20 minutes. Allow to cool, rinse & dry.

Will last a lot longer if you do this.

This steamer works really well. You can see the water capacity so its easy to add water. Easy to h;andle and clean. I read that the timer did not work for one person, that happened to me one time only so I think it just wasn’t set correctly.

Also someone said they could not turn the timer back but you can turn it back to turn it off. you can also pull the plug to turn it off and the timer will keep running, if you plug it back in it will turn on at that time.

You can also add more water to rice, I don’t think 1. 25 cups to one cup rice is enough, I added 1. 75 cups. I really like this appliance and use it a lot, great deal!.

This is a great way to make a simple, healthy meal for one or two people. It’s lightweight, which makes for easy handling and cleaning, but the plastic seems strong enough to endure for quite a while.

I made fish, vegs and rice together; my only negative is that the rice bowl takes up an entire level/tray, so I had to do the rest together. Still, the fish was flaky and the vegs crisp, so no real problem using it that way.

This is one appliance that’s already earned permanent counter space. Glad I gave myself this birthday gift!.

I like this little steamer. I fill it with cut up, frozen broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. I add water and probably leave it too long in the microwave (I have to play with the times to get the perfect time) because my veggies shrink.

I’ve never used a steamer before this so it may be that I’m leaving them too long but either way, the veggies taste good and they are soft so I’m ok with the shrunken veggies. Anyway, I just wanted steamed veggies and an item that would be able to do that for me and it did.

I was a little put off by the shape but it works great. I find I need less water than is recommended and it works for both fresh veggies and frozen. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of any protruding tabs to pick it up after cooking is done.

The cover sits on top unsecured and if you pick it up and find it’s too hot, you can easily spill the hot water on yourself and get burned. If your careful and use a kitchen towel to take it out of the microwave you should be fine.

It washes easily both in a dishwasher and by hand. If the top was secured and it had tabs to pick it up I would have given it 5 stars.

We are really enjoying steamed veggies now! No mush like previously boiled items. Like that it expands to fit different sized pots. We were using the loop on the stem to pick up the hot steamer with tongs but it unwound so I’ll try attaching some other metal loop.

I love these mixed veggies. I’ll explain why they’re better than any of their competitors. Do you like lima beans? I do every big once in a while (once every 20 years). Most varieties of mixed vegetables have lima beans in them.

I guess you could take the lima beans out, but we all have busy lives and don’t have time for all that. Especially when Birds Eye® Steamfresh® Mixed Vegetables are usually the cheapest too. When cooked, they turn out with the exact amount of crisp.

We all know brands that are mush. Canned versions don’t hold up well in recipes either. I use mine in a homemade chicken pot pie and they turn out perfect every time. It saves me a lot of time to be able to just throw them in.

The big plus is I didn’t even have to mess up a dish to cook them in or a pan. They go right in the microwave. Fallow the directions and they come out done, no mush. I’ve also cooked them, put in a bowl and added a couple tablespoons of real butter for a side.

The 2 bags of mixed vegetables I purchased was not mixed at all. It consisted only of peas and greenbeans. The quality was far from what Birds Eye generally presents. The taste was horrible. I purchase Birds Eye mixed vegetables often and this did not meet the standard at all.

I have kept the bags with the lot number and dates for reference. I am writing the company because the manufacture did a poor job of meeting my expectations.

Always enjoyed the Birdseye Mixed Vegtables. But then you made it cook in the bag and raised the price. This is not progress! If like the old bad of mixed vegtables I could keep in the freezer back. I will happily perrin out how many I want to serve and heat them in a pot or Pyrex dish in the microwave.

Repeated cooking in the bag, re-sealing and re-freezing is against food service codes and regulations.

Wonder Steamer! I steamed 11 small red potatoes and 4 corn on the cob which took 18 minutes with filled with distilled water at around a 3/4 level. They were perfect and it did not mess up my already crowded counter with any escaped steam.

There was left over water in the steamer. I love the lightness of the machine which is a plus to my arthritic hands, while at the same time seeming to endure lots of steaming times. And the price is very affordable to be able to put together simple, healthy meals pretty easy and fast.

This electric steamer is quite versatile. We use it for making hard boiled and poached eggs, potato salad, rice, cous cous, shrimp, salmon. Since there are two baskets, several foods like potatoes and corn can be made at the same time instead of sequentially.

And foods that cook for different time lengths can be staggered by adding the second basket later. And there is no need to use cooking oil.

This steamer works great It folds up small for storage, but fans out in all my sauce pans to use for my veggies. It folds up smoothly without dragging on itself like some I’ve had do. It has a great quality.

I really like the fact that I can lift this easily and that the stem is removable for cleaning and also to use in a more shallow pot. or for plate steaming. I have had several steamers over the years and this is the best one yet.

The others are a little wider which I do prefer, but its other attributes outweigh any drawback.

although it’s a portion for two, you will love it so much you could eat the whole bag. it is seasoned just right you can taste the season but it’s not too peppery or garlicky it’s just very pleasant and tasty.

These vegetables are delicious. I bought them to try in February and we loved them. I bought two packages of them this week. They taste homemade.

Very good for frozen. I just sautéed some onions and fresh mushrooms and added the veg mix I had microwaved which really made a great dish.

I eat a mostly plant based diet- I actually follow the Mediterranean “diet†(I prefer to think of it as a lifestyle instead of a diet because it’s extremely healthy and anti inflammatory, which I need for my nasty autoimmune disease.

) So, I eat a LOT of vegetables and sometimes I can’t always get them fresh, or I’m too tired to cook, so these are a fantastic alternative. Frozen vegetables are the next best thing to fresh (don’t eat canned! Get frozen instead).

I like Green Giant and Bird’s Eye both because of the excellent quality and the “steamable†varieties that you can put right in the microwave and it steams the vegetables to perfection and you don’t have to do anything else except add seasoning if you want.

They aren’t “mushy†and taste pretty fresh. They have a lot of varieties, including ones you can use as meal kits for things like fajitas, stir fry’s, etc. They also have a lot that are pre-seasoned or have sauce on them, which aren’t as healthy, but probably taste great and kids would eat/ like.

My favorite is always the broccoli, cauliflower and carrots because it’s perfectly balanced and all three come out cooked perfectly. I also love the Brussel sprouts, which are hard to find. I always have a freezer full of these.

Birds Eye has always been one of my favorite brands. I rarely purchase the generic labels. I was really surprised and disappointed in my most recent purchase. I cooked according to the label of six minutes according to my microwave and then another two minutes.

The veggies were still tough. In addition, there was a cauliflower stem/core in the bag with the florets cut off of it that should have been used for cauliflower rice. I would throw it in the garbage if I was cleaning a fresh head of cauliflower.

I’m really disappointed in my purchase.

I knew there was something not right when I spooned the veggies on to my plate. Old was my first thought. Definitely not fresh. The broccoli was not green. More like gray. The cauliflower looked off white.

The carrots were orange but looked more like canned carrots, not fresh. I was hesitant to eat it but I tried anyway. That was a bad mistake. Had a bite of carrots which I could not swallow. The taste was simply disgusting.

I had to spit it out into the trash. I had bought at a Dollar General so I checked the best by date which was June 2022 so that was the issue. Will not buy these ever again.

Green Giant has always made great tasting vegetables and this simply steam garden vegetable medley does not disappoint! I will usually add this to a meal if it is really low in calories and I feel like I need to add something else to it.

These vegetables are not the kind that will make you go, “Ewwww, gross!” Haha. They are not boring or flavorless, either. Green Giant has been around for a long time and will be around for many years to come because they continue to make vegetables that are both healthy and appetizing. I think that anyone who wants to incorporate some more veggies into their meals should definitely check this out.

I love veggies and this is a great and convenient way for me personally to incorporate them into my diet easily. This is the Garden Vegetable Medley, which consists of roasted potatoes, sugar snap peas, red peppers and garden herbs.

Its lightly sauced and has no artificial preservatives. This one takes about 5 1/2 minutes to steam in the microwave and has two servings per bag. Its 70 calories for 1 serving or 140 for the whole bag.

I personally would have never made this combination in my own cooking preparations, but I’m so glad that I bought this because the combination together is awesome. Everything steams perfectly and tastes delicious.

Wow! So much flavor in such a convenient package. My family was confined to one room for a year while restoration from a small water leak from a water closet supply line was underway. If it wasn’t for this we would have gone without veggies.

there is something wrong with these. every package we have gotten recently they taste awful, like there is some kind of chemical in them. i have been buying them for 2 years now, so I have no idea what changed.

But i do not recommend buying. Sadly, i forgot and bought more.

Yummy vegetable choice. Very easy to make and tastes delicious. My daughter told me about the Green Giant Tuscan Broccoli and it’s all I look for now. Way to go Green Giant. They really upped their game here.

I’m not sure where to start. Birds Eye frozen vegetables used to be top notch. This past year, I’ve had way over ripe corn, green beans & actually spoiled broccoli florets and like some other reviews have said, the broccoli florets are so stalky, not florets.

The broccoli says Product of Mexico. I don’t know if this is the problem or just very poor quality control. I am so hesitant about purchasing your products in the future. I’ve thrown out at least 2 very over ripe corn and 2 spoiled broccoli florets.

They were so gross looking that I was hesitant about using the other bag that I still had in the freezer. I did microwave that one and it was ok, but almost threw it out because of how disgusting the first one was.

My favorite vegetable is broccoli. I could eat it daily. My daughter (she’s 4) even loves broccoli. The problem is when you cook broccoli a lot of times it gets all mushy. Texture is something that I don’t usually have an issue with but broccoli is supposed to have a snap when you chew it.

With the steam in a bag kind it always has the right amount of crunch in it to be cooked completely but not overcooked. It maintains the fresh flavor as well. I have bought steam in a bag of store brand florets before trying to save a few cents (literally the difference in price isn’t much) and I will say it definitely cooks different and the broccoli in the store brand are much smaller pieces and a lot less full.

I always have at least one bag of this in my freezer and that will never change so yes I would buy this over and over.

These florets are genuinely florets–not stems or cut pieces of broccoli. The steam in bag works well and makes for one less dish to clean up. I often eat an entire bag, adding only salt and butter as a meal.

I also use these in recipes (normally slicing the florets in half or thirds to be bite sized). This is a pleasant and CONSISTENTLY high quality product and I am so glad Birdseye offers it. Thanks Birdseye!.

Definitely pricey but when you don’t have time to grab fresh broccoli or cauliflower then this works perfectly. They are crisp and tender, they aren’t mushy like some frozen veggies can be. Plus you can microwave them right in the bag.

I open them and then add a little olive oil and sea salt. Definitely recommend if your in a hurry.

The California Blend is my Dads favorite. The veggies are always a good quality. These are easy to cook, and there are not any seasonings or sauce that would add calories or interfere with the flavors of what else is being made for dinner! I did notice that cauliflower is always last of the 3 veggies that he will eat.

This is good in flavor and I like that the package is one serving per bag. Sadly the sodium in this is nearly half of what you need in a day. Too much. I also dislike how the cheese was pouring from the bag when I took it out of the microwave.

As for flavor, it is delicious. For the amount you receive and the price you pay, the calorie count is decent. It’s filling and worth two thumbs up.

I bought these with little expectations and this turned out to be a good purchase. This bag is easy to make in the microwave for 7 minutes and your ready to eat. There was the perfect amount of cheese rice and broccoli.

My granddaughter loved the cheese covered rice. I will buy again and do highly recommend.

I love nearly the entire line of steamers. This one is great and I also love the brussel sprouts too as a second favorite. The cheese sauce is a little bland. I usually add a little salt and let it stand to thicken a bit and mix it.

I also never microwave them for the full time as indicated on the package because my microwave is way too powerful. If you like a slightly firm veggie my recommendation to you is to put it on for a minute and a half and let it sit in the microwave and rest for 5 minutes while you finish preparing the rest of your meal and then put it on for another 2 minutes after that and then serve.

Five minutes is too much for me. The main reason I purchase this product is for convenience. Fresh veggies go bad quickly, canned veggies don’t come prepared in a sauce so you still have to cook them.

These allow you to focus on the main course and a side while they’re cooking in the microwave.

I love Brussels sprouts, and I thought I’d buy the frozen kind for easy access. Unfortunately, I found them so unpleasant when steamed that I ended up forcing myself to eat them and finally throwing some away.

I don’t recommend steaming Brussels sprouts. I didn’t find them good. Eat them raw and shredded in a salad (wouldn’t work from frozen), roasted, or even sauteed. I’m not sure if you can roast or saute from frozen, but this bag is clearly designed for steaming.

Packaging was easy to handle – directions for 1200 watt Microwave were spot on, but you could go an extra 30 seconds if you like a more tender finish. Sprouts were not the least bit bitter. That can happen with older harvest or when cooked too quickly.

Good product – Highly recommended.

So Fresh! For the first time I bought two bags. Only used one and a half for dinner. The other half stayed fresh a week after. This has never happened with other spinach I’ve bought. The flavor is great as well.

My picky eaters ate it up with no complaints this time. Highly recommend!.

Perhaps a year or so ago, I got a package with spoiled carrots. The larger pieces were the worst, with noticeable changes in color, texture, smell, and an awful taste. This is a combination of vegetables that I like a lot, so I recently worked up the courage to try them again.

They were exactly the same. The larger pieces of orange carrot seem to have spoiled prior to freezing, and this time, some of the cauliflower had also spoiled! How is this possible?! Two different packages a year apart with the identical problem? Do I have amazingly bad luck with this product, or are other people eating spoiled vegetables and don’t even know it?.

This doesn’t taste like it did months ago. Only had broccoli and cauliflower and one piece of orange carrot. It tastes like it is spoiled. And some of the bags had small puncture holes in them.

I have purchased the product dozens of times regularly. A few months back the packaging changed & so did the volume of product. Bags leak a lot when heating & drip water everywhere. I use specific containers when prepping this product & it no longer fills container the way it use to.

My family started eating healthier this past year and me and my husband now pack lunches daily. When prepping lunches for the next day, we cook these according to the directions and add them to a protein multiple times a week! Very flavorful and super easy to prepare.

I have a hard time finding them at some stores so we typically stock up!.

I love these veggies and often have them as a snack. I want a cookie. Veggies are better for my all over energy and I’ve grown very fond of the variety I find at Walmart!! great prices also !!

This is a good frozen vegetable in a light sauce that does not contain a lot of additives. It is tasty and good for people doing weight loss or if you want a quick and easy side dish. This is a good side dish for busy people because you only have to add a meat or protein, such as Walmart’s rotisserie chicken.

Recently, I started eating low carb, so that is how I made my meal with these veggies. It was a healthy, quick, and easy meal. I ate the leftovers from this veggie for lunch the next day. I plan to buy this product again because I like the light sauce and the quality of veggies in this packet.

I am not one to like frozen vegetables normally but when I make home made fried rice. I use frozen vegetables. I defrost them and add them once they have lost most of their water to the fried rice mix.

One way to get vegetables into the kids diet. And they love home made fried rice.

Why not enjoy these? I like to keep these in the house as well. As a simple addition to a meal you can pop them in the microwave and hit them up to perfect freshness nice and hot. And they are perfect to add to a meal that calls for fresh veggies like a stir-fry.

My only issue is the liquid on the bottom of the bag haha I have to always strain the veggies before I use them. But other then that they always help fill the place with a nice bit of color.

This is the best mixed vegetables I can find. I use this in almost all my recipes it’s the perfect mix. I especially use it when I make a chicken pot pie from scratch all I need to do is make the gravy and add chicken and this is the perfect mix of vegetables.

I’ve always gone to Birdseye it’s reasonably price and it’s excellent quality.
