20 Best Velcro For Pedalboard (2022 Updated)

I picked up my first pro level pedalboard when my band started playing out several times a week and I got tired of the hassle of dealing with my pedals before every show. Even though I only use 4 pedals (a dual input stage tuner, wah, volume and a Sansamp DI) they are a necessity when you gig out like we do so I invested in a Pedal Train board with a Voodoo Labs power supply.

The board came with what seemed to be nice, wide and very sticky velcro and there was plenty included to set the board up. The only problem was after just a few months the pedals began sliding all over the board so I hopped on here and found this stuff.

Let me tell you this stuff is SOLID. When in place the adhesive bonded instantly so make sure you line things up right before placing it cause it does not come back off easily! Once placed and locked down my pedals are now as solid as rocks with absolutely no movement.

On the flip side if you need to pull the pedals off for some reason its not real difficult to do so. I can’t accurately describe just how good a job this stuff really is but after months of constant gigging it has not once failed, slipped or slid at all.

The only downside is the price. Unlike velcro when you pick up a roll of this you don’t get 2 strips (one hook and one loop) but rather one single piece. I figured 2 rolls would be plenty to mount up 4 pedals but I was mistaken and had to order a 3rd to finish the job and a little quick addition will tell you just what my total investment was.

the bottom line is if you want to set up an incredibly tough, solid pedalboard then this is the way to go as long as you’re prepared for the hit your gonna take to your wallet! For me personally it was worth every penny.

If you want your pedals to stay where you put them then this is the ticket. It is a little pricy, but it is solid. You only get one strip that is approximately 34 inches long so that really only gives you half that length for your board and pedals.

It took me three rolls to do attach seven pedals to a Pedalboard Jr. A few things to note are that the backing glue holds super to a flat bottom metal pedal, but not as well to a pedal with a rubber strip on the bottom.

You will also need to remove any rubber feet from your pedal so it can sit low and attach to the tape on the board. I turned the tape up about three quarters of an inch on the metal side of the couple of pedals I have with a full rubber piece mounted on the bottom.

You could just remove the rubber, but I thought that a little too drastic in the event I wanted to sell or trade a pedal later. Turning the tape up the side seems to work well. You also might want to think about your pedal placement before locking everything down.

You can remove your pedals, but you might need a small crowbar to get a corner up. This stuff really holds!.

This mounting tape, (works similar to Velcro, but much stronger), is the best I have been able to find. The only problem, I couldn’t find a retailer that offered to sell longer than the roughly 3′ length, however, the manufacturer sells in various lengths.

(Maybe I didn’t look enough). Anyway, if you want a permanent installation that you can mount pedals, put pull out for service or replacement, this is the best I have found. The tape connects to itself, you don’t have to worry about lining up the loop side or the hook side.

I play pedal steel and had to create a pedal board, (had to be thin to match up with the guitar pedals) to use for volume pedal, effects pedals, and dual channel direct box, and obtain a comfortable, easy to use arraignment, yet the majority of connections are permanent, making for a quick set up.

The beef I have is I felt bad for the one cashier who was working and the line got longer – TWICE she requested on the loud speaker for an associate to come up front and TWICE no one came up. I saw several of them throughout the store.

No one asks if you need help when I actually look like I’m searching for something. I work in retail and everyone who walks through the door is offered help. It’s pathetic. Quality insights are 2-3 sentences long.

My dog’s winter jacket is several years old and the velcro was not working very well anymore. I contemplated purchasing a new one but before spending the $50 I decided to try buying new velcro to see if that would work.

I was very skeptical. This purchase was exactly the correct width and I was easily able to cut the correct length. I needed only the hook side of the velcro. I pressed the new velcro over the old. It stuck great.

I then put the jacket on the dog, closed to velcro and then opened it, thinking the new velcro would just peel off. It did not. It stuck tight. Great fix!.

bad adhesive on the back end of both sides of strips made this “industrial strength” roll of Velcro seem not so great. I applied it and waited for the allotted time listed on packaging and it peeled off the wall and after several uses even the item itself.

the package itself causey permanent folds that you cannot get to go away. maybe better adhesive and rolling it in the package would help. when you buy some Velcro with adhesive until a redesign avoid this product.

We needed to hang a large plywood piece that had mirror tiles affixed to it on the wall for our new gym space. The whole thing was actually really heavy and I was afraid it wouldn’t hold. We used drywall screws of course but I wanted an extra layer of hold for piece of mind.

Found these velcro strips and added one strip to all 4 sides of the plywood. I think it definitely helps take some of the weight off of the screws. Makes me feel a little more at ease that it’s not going to come crashing down.

They seem very sturdy and hold tight.

Bought these for a small trash can for my car so. The can wouldn’t tip over and spill out frequently. The quality of the Velcro is pretty strong and haven’t had any issues yet. The adhesive is sticky and works well.

Although it did come up once when I removed the can from its spot. I do wish the packaging included more pieces but other than that. It’s industrial strength and works well.

This product has served me well! It is the strongest Velcro that I have ever found and it is holding up my sun visors in my car that have failed to close properly for years!! Man mimicked God’s creation very well with this product.

These velcro sticky back strips were just the ticket for a recent home maintenance project. The adhesive is strong, and the strips are easy to cut through with a scissors. The in-store price was comparable to other competitors in my area.

This worked great. I made a spinning prize wheel for a Social service outreach I did over the weekend. The kids could spin the wheel for a prize. I decorated a lazy Susan and used the Velcro to attach it to the stand I built.

Perfect.

This product is simple, yet effective. The velcro is durable and holds everthing in place just as I envisioned it. I would definitely use this product again if need be.

This is my first experience with this product and it’s really easy to fasten! You can sew it onto your project, or even hot glue it into place. It has a decent hold, and really brought the simple bag I’m working on to life.

I bought this sew on velcro so I could make some fabrics stick to stuff. And boy, did it work! This is like some miracle glue but it isn’t glue and you sew it on to fabric. The pros of this item: *it sews on to stuff like fabric *it allows the fabric to stick to stuff that also has velcro on it.

The cons: *you have to sew it on *there are 2 different pieces. You MUST use both because the ‘fuzzy’ piece won’t stick to other ‘fuzzy’ pieces, gotta use the ‘rough’ piece to stick to the ‘fuzzy’ piece.

This velcro is my favorite!.

I love this product. It works great for my crafts. I used it to sew on to yarn projects to use them as closures. The Velcro is very strong and sewing on was not difficult

Very Strong. Can be cut to size. And reinventing the word Stuck! If you want it Stuck! This is the Velcro you want! (Caution: Pinning children to the walls with this tape as a joke, punishment, or even for family fun time is highly frowned upon.

Regardless of how Well This super strong Velcro is!!! But in my personal opinion. It could totally do the job! Go Velcro! Good Work! I think I’ll use it to hold down my car tires next time a tornado comes thru!.

This stuff works on fabric! I’ve washed the fabric (18ft worth of velcro) multiple times on sanitize, and I put it in the dryer on high, too. It stays put! Don’t use it on anything you don’t want permanent.

You’ll never get it off.

Needed to attach wood slat pieces above the windows. Using two pieces on each end of the slats held strongly to the frame of the window. So far, no signs of the fasteners failing. Very satisfied. VELCRO strips were easy to cut and peel to get to the adhesive.

Strong as well.

Says on the package it can be used for fabric. I bought drapery liners that came with drapery hooks. Everytime I would open or close the drapes, some of the would slide off the loops that were supposed to hold the hooks.

I decided to try the velcro and it works much better. However, the velcro does have some difficulty in holding on to the weight and length of the liners(80″ liners). So I put in a few clips/stitches here and there to help the velcro hold on.

Is what I was looking for, both sides (hook and loop tapes) of Velcro with adhesive backing on both, for permanent, temporary or removable mounting of frames, LED nightlights, remote control units on walls, whatever.

Seems to work well, but there are two caveats: 1. The more important one is that, depending on the surface you stick the adhesive part to, the Velcro adhesion may be stronger than that of the adhesive, so when you try to take it out, the adhesive may come off before the Velcro.

So you may need to supplement the adhesive with something else (stiching, nails, stronger adhesive, etc. , depending on the surface in question). 2. Minor point, but the transparent plastic backing covering the adhesive is a real pain to get to separate from the Velcro strip; I was attacking it with the edge of a fingernail for a good minute.

Could be annoying if you’re doing many of these.

I was leery about the “stickiness” being sticky enough for my project. I have 4 older (13+) male dogs that are wearing belly wraps when I leave the house. This tape not only sticks, but it works even after several washings.

Because of it’s sticky back, though. you don’t want to try to reinforce it with your sewing machine. It’ll break your needle!! Thank goodness it is strong enough to withstand multiple washings.

Needed a secure way to fasten a heavy long costume skirt for dancing. this velcro strip was perfect! I could cut the exact size I wanted and it made changing costumes a breeze! The adhesive held up perfectly!!.

I purchased this Velcro to keep the drapes closed in the evening. Only one or two small patches on the drapes make them stay closed. Opening the Velcro is very easy and does not get caught up in the drapes when hoping when opening.

The patches are clear and can barely be seen.

Every year I purchase this Velcro because I need to fasten a red white and blue bunting to a tablecloth that we use to sell tickets for the Carousel Of Light. We are a nonprofit and we run a carousel every summer in Falmouth on Cape Cod.

This helps us attach the bunting perfectly making the table look so much livelier and prettier. The price is great and the quality is also.

This Velcro was really nice and super sticky. I used it for a project in my biology course so that the components could be detachable. I had to cut the Velcro to different sizes for the project and the only down side was that the soft side of the Velcro “shed” (for lack of better words).

Not a huge deal for me, but I think others should know be aware of this depending on what you are using this product for.

It was just the right thing that I needed to help attach something to my Canadian crutches and it held on my trip back home to NM. and even going through TSA xray and held strong on my flight and kept the item I attached to my Canadian crutches fastened securely until I unattached it when I got home many hours later.

I can still reattach the item again for my next adventure. I strongly recommend this product to anyone who needs to hold an item securely to something. Great product.

The product itself was good. I was dismayed at how the in-store pickup ordering works, however. I ordered this one item, because it was all I needed, and because I found it on their website. Rather than hunt through the store looking for the item on a shelf, I ordered it to be picked up in my local store, which is within walking distance of my house.

I figured that they would pull one from stock and call me up in a few minutes. Instead, they apparently fed-ex shipped an entire box with just this one item in it, to my local Staples, and then notified me that it was ready.

So a box with this item that weighs maybe an ounce and a vast amount of wasted space, creating needless packaging waste, goes to my store, they call me, and I go pick up the item. How in this Hell-on-Earth are we doing this to ourselves, wasting resources so stupidly, after creating the internet, which was supposed to be a monumental achievement that would give rise to a new world of untold prosperity and efficiency? This planet is doomed, and it is because of us.

20 years ago, this was affectionately known as “the German Velcro”. Actually, that stuff is a little MORE aggressive, because once you snap it together, it is virtually impossible to get it apart. This is tough stuff, so use sparingly, because if you use too big a hunk on something, you will NEVER GET IT TO LET GO.

It is that good. I like the strips. I have a huge roll of it in storage, but I couldn’t find it. I also recommend the OUTDOOR version for tough applications. Like everything, you have to get the stickum part REALLY stuck.

Grips strongly to itself. Great for binding boxes especially ones holding heavier items like ratchet straps, etc. Also good for holding things like a few 2x4s for a more secure carry. All kinds of uses.

Have used all sizes from 1/2 to 4 finding this 1-1/2 the most useful.

I like these hook and loop straps as it attaches to itself. I have two sizes for different things that I use and they hold very securely. You also can cut the length you need and keep the rest. Great product.

I use it to securely bikes to the bike racks on the car. Works like a charm.

I purchased these for my every day carry disaster/get home bag items. They were exactly what I was looking for. The buckle is sewn in strong enough to really cinch down and the red tab on the end is an added plus.

I could of probably ended up buying a brand name tactical type of velcro cinch.

The hook and loop mechanism of this strap are thermally fused from two pieces designated by the black and red parts of the strap respectively. apparently, these are not fused at the sufficiently high temperature and the red and black pieces pull apart easily and after only a few uses, rendering the strap useless.

Both of mine failed.

River rafting season is coming, all those things that I usually loose, not happening this year. Velcro straps to hold things on…wheee! Lookout!

Easy to use, works well

VELCRO Brand – Extreme Outdoor – Extreme – 4″ x 1″ Strips, 10 Sets – Titanium I just bought a condo and converted a dark, ugly bedroom to a light, bright recording studio. After four coats of paint (primer followed by three coats of peach) I was NOT keen on putting 32 large screws with drywall sleeves on them into the walls to hold up acoustic tiles and panels! The acoustic fiberglass panels seemed lightweight enough for adhesive Velcro strips, but I wanted to be sure they were the strongest available because those panels need to hold for years.

I came shopping here on Home Essentials Direct and bought these. Got everything mounted today and so far, so good. I’ll report back in a few weeks, and hopefully tell you how well they’re holding up, because I just can’t put those huge holes in my pretty, freshly painted wall.

UPDATE: Well, sure enough, a couple of the panels have fallen. Luckily, they came with metal backs which I’ve attached to the panels, and then just reapplied the Velcro strip, this time not to the panel back but to the metal “impaler.

” Sticks there much better than to the fiberglass on the panel back.

Ok. I use a lot of velcro. I very often velcro things like communications devices, power banks, etc. , to helmets that are used in 200mph plus motorcycle racing, and for use in open cockpit airplanes.

I have spent thirty years looking for the best velcro and I have founbd that some are better than others. I thought the double-lock type was the best, but this stuff. This stuff is the stuff of legends.

I applied a small strip to a power bank today, then to a helmet, and realized I had mis-placed it. So I tried to pull the powerbank off the velcro. I simply couldn’t get it off. I absolutely could not get it off.

The power bank was bending and creaking. I probably ruined it. The only way I got it off was that the velcro part that was stuck to the helmet came off — that is the glue between the velcro and the helmet failed.

That’s the only reason this didn’t get a 9 rating. I am hopeful, though, that if the sticky side gets 24 – 48 hours to cure onto the surface, it will be significantly stronger. Yes, the surface was prepped with alcohol.

Otherwise, my advice is to start by using a much smaller piece than you think you need to attach something. You can always add more. This is amazing velcro. By far, by far, the strongest I have used in my lifetime.

Love this stuff, especially if you don’t want to make holes in your walls. I purchased this to mount a stainless steel paper towel dispenser in the kitchen and bathroom. This stuff is strong!!!!

The velcro seems like it would hold fine, as it is firmly together when applied, however the definite downside to these (as seemingly with all the Velcro brand products) is the adhesive is pretty bad and is weaker than the velcro.

It may hold if you apply it and never need to remove it, but then unsure why you would use velcro for the application.

Works great…. Bought it to fix a part of my hot tub cover and works better than the original Velcro the company used. Very strong and steaky… Love it.

I bought this for my garden work. My are is well with mild temperature ranges in region 8 to 9. I found that the glue let go of anything I attached it to. It even released from the velcro backing. The velcro itself is fantastic but what good is it if it can’t be reliably attached to ordinary surfaces like plastic pipe, cloth, wood or even the velcro plastic backing.

I’m going to keep it for inside work where I can use things like nails to attach it or light work like small pictures.

I used this for a Communipak, which is a communication pack that uses picture symbols for individuals that have limited language. I needed a strong adhesive backed Velcro, and this worked for me.

I used these to secure a 65 ft. mini LED string light set around the holiday display on my fireplace mantle and surrounding displays and entry way. The squares held the small wire in place beautifully and allowed me string 65 feet very creatively.

The grip is great and there are many uses for this little sticky back square. Will definitely buy again.

This velcro item is great until extreme heat hits it. I used the velco sticky backs to hold up a cover under the skylight in my travel trailer. The heat was so intense that only half held up. I don’t blame the product but my choice of squares opposed to strips.

The longer, the better!.

I bought this because it seems that everything has to have a remote these days. I was forever losing or dropping remotes to the TV, ROKU, DVD, VCR, Bed, and others especially in my bedroom. It was always my luck to drop one or knock it off the table so that it went into the far reaches under the bed or somewhere even more difficult to reach.

I solved this problem by placing the little velcro squares on the remotes and the matching squares on the side of the bedside table. Now every remote has its own spot and they are all easily found all lined up on the side of the table.

Application was easy. I used an alcohol pad or alcohol and paper towel and cleaned the surface of the remote and table where the sticky back velcro squares were to be applied. After drying thoroughly, I placed the squares where they would match up with their partners.

It worked so well, I also added one to my CPAP mask to hang it out of the way. That has been about six months ago and the squares have not come off yet.

I only needed the toothy side since the dash cover sticks to it just like the velcro fluffy side. The dash cover was great but didn’t come with near enough tape to stick it on firmly. I can say so far the adhesive sticks pretty well to the dashboard and hasn’t come off yet.

Works great.

They use photos of a box of the product (larger quantity) in their listing to sell a third of what you think you’re getting. The photos make you think you’re getting much more. Disappointed and will not be ordering again.
