20 Best Vhs C Adapter (2022 Updated)

I have tried without success to get the Maxell VHS-C cassettes to play when put in the adapter. It may be something I’m doing wrong, so I don’t want to rate a product if the problem lies with me. We get the cassette into the adapter with some difficulty.

When it does play it shuts down every minute or so,. We have the same result with two cassettes. The instructions seem pretty straight forward and we followed them, but continue to have the problem.

Once you get a hang of getting the VHS-C tape in the adapter its very easy to use. I would search internet for a video of how it should look when the tape is in the adapter to make sure you have it correct.

Once I figured that out. it worked fantastic to copy the tapes to my computer.

Works perfectly in my vcr. I’m able now to see my videos of important events.

This product has allowed me to recover my old archived VHS mini cassette’s which I thought I had lost for ever. I can now transfer their content to DVD.

I purchased this product because I have a lot of home video recordings on mini cassettes that I have been unable to see for some time because the adapter that I had was damaged and unusable, so I sent for this more modern one which is battery operated and am delighted with it.

You simple insert the mini cassette and close the door and the adapter electronically loads it ready for playing in your cassette recorder.

Great adaptor. Just what I needed for old video camera tapes.

Seems well constructed and VHS-C cassettes fit into it well and being motorised helps with the process too. However, my VHS player refused to eject it after a few uses and I had to dismantle the VHS player and fiddle and mess about to free it up without damaging the tape.

A small lip on the front of the adapter seems to have caught on the VHS mechanism. However, I have used it again after dismantling the VHS and it seems to be working again – so would just suggest being very careful about making sure that the VHS-C cassette is soundly clicked into this carrier before putting it into your VHS.

Bought to transfer old VhsC tapes to digital format. Motorised and uses one AA battery. Built quality seems good and transfer process went smoothly. Would recommend this product. So far have transferred about 6 hours of material without any hitches.

Could not get my camcorder to power up. All my video tapes had valuable footage on them, but had no way to view them or copy them on to DVD. Then I saw this product and it saved the day. Inserted the batteries (they just wind the tape into the mechanism) – popped it into my VCR and it played my tapes just as if it was a normal sized VHS tape.

I had one of these before. When I bought my camcorder. But due to moving. I can’t find it. So I was very pleased to see they where still about. Thank you.

This adapter works perfectly. I used it to connect from my laptop to an external monitor and had no issues at all. The VGA port fits the cable perfectly. The picture quality was perfect. There was no flickering of screen and the mouse was working working consistently as well.

I could easily adjust the resolution to my preference. The color calibration was also nice. I was able to set up the external display within minutes and get it working perfectly.

I kept asking NL support and getting passed around their different customer service departments and no one had an answer. 4 weeks later, sick of following up I purchased the product in hopes of getting 2 monitors on extended mode with a Surface Laptop 4.

LO, behold, it works for the VGA monitor! I only plugged it in to see if it’ll connect, which it did, but the Usb-C monitor did not. Only later I found out on the official Belkin website that this adapter only supports 1 monitor, and the Usb-c is a charge through only.

Currently I’m waiting on the Manukau Branch to process a return via post. And still looking for a solution to connect 2 monitors on extended mode – 1 VGA/DVI monitor, and one modern DVI/DP/HDMI monitor.

Using it on my Surface Pro. Very good product if you don’t need a full-fledged thunderbolt hub. It is not bulky, so it looks clean and also saves space on the desk. Successfully outputs 4k @ 60Hz. I do sometimes see, a glitch in the display.

Can’t say for sure if it’s the adapter or the monitor [Acer CB282K]. Both are new, and I have not tested any of them with any other products. The additional USB-C port is only for charging. It won’t support any SSD or any other device.

Having recently received a new MacBook Pro, I needed to replace my old USB 3. 0 StarTech multiport adapter for a USB-C version. This version, in aluminum feels like an upgrade to the old StarTech product.

This display adapter has enough flexibility to support just about any current display connection requirements. Particularly if you’re watching content from an Apple product to a 4K television, you’ll find the size and the ease of switching between, say, 4K and HDMI connections simple and easy to manage.

The unit itself is quite heavy and the USB-C connector is manufactured from rugged cabling that should last well beyond the 2 year warranty period. The housing of the unit is polished aluminum and the USB-C connector folds in and and holds tight.

I tested each of the connectors for fit and each one held tightly without having to be screwed in. Signal quality through the tested ports were good. Packaging was easy to break down for recycling purposes.

Small, sturdy, and one piece (partial “pro” there). Just connected it up out of the box and I had full resolution on my 4k monitor–provided the computer can drive that of course. The multiple output ports are fantastic when travelling.

I need only worry about MY computer, and the adapter has the rest covered. I like how the cable wraps around and tucks in. Cons: Just one partial con, the interface cable is both short and non-removable.

That’s made it rough a couple times, but not a show-stopper. Other Thoughts: I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review. But frankly, I’d have done a review of this device anyway as it’s always with me now.

I have not had any downsides to this product. It does exactly what I wanted. My VHS-C cassettes fit it perfectly; everything seems to work. I have tried several cassettes and all have worked.

This product is just what was needed for vhs-c playback on a video player. Yes I still have one and it records to DVD too. Which is why I wanted to be able to playback and record tapes from the 1980’s unseen until now.

Saved a fortune on taking to a shop to get the first ones put on DVD. I wish I had thought of looking for this sooner.

This was packaged and looked new. However, when I put in a family cassette, it started eating it immediately. Very disappointed and something you cant get back especially when you rely on something to work as advertised.

Does what it’s supposed to do. Very easy to use. I don’t understand why it is a bit noisy, though, during the rewind process. I miss the days when we could be the non-motorized ones for less than $10.

Product used once and stopped working.. soooo upset! Almost broke my original small tape full memories.

Works great and got it time to make a few Christmas gifts.

Absolutely brilliant!!! I was able to watch old tapes and it brought back so many happy memories.

I had some old tapes with the family growing up on them and this device allowed me to watch them on my 42inch tv some tears of joy but well worth the 30 quid.

Bought for a future project so havent used yet but it is a good strong construction and I am hopeful for good things

I checked this out with my Dell XPS 13 and it did the job. My Dell 23″ Ultrasharp looked as good as it can using SVGA. I mention this because if your monitor has multiple interfaces, as mine does, the SVGA is not going to look as sharp as some of the other more modern interfaces.

This particular Dell monitor is a few years old and has both SVGA and DVI-D interfaces on it. The DVI-D is visibly cleaner than the SVGA, but the SVGA is still very good and usable. This is not the fault of this interface dongle.

It is expected due to the fundamental limitations of one interface type vs. the other. In any case, this SVGA is in my kit for those times when I’m in a customer meeting room that has legacy equipment in it.

It should also work with a modern Mac that has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 as well, although I didn’t test this.

After a failed experience with a cheaper product that claimed to do the same thing, this worked the first time. I used this to connect my second (1920×1080) monitor to my laptop via the Thunderbolt/USB port.

The first time, the computer didn’t even recognize that a second monitor had been connected. If you have the same problem as me, try this product.

When I need video equipment, I purchase Panasonic. As with most products, using the accessories built by the company helps keep the quality at top level. I use the Panasonic VHS-C tapes for every shoot I do.

I will add that the one time I had to purchase another brand, there were gaps in the video and the sound dropped out at one point. I’m a solid Panasonic fan and will continue to buy these tapes as long as I can find them.

First as a basic hub, I used it with two audio streaming devices (DAC and ADC). I heard nothing odd in the audio so I assume the streaming works through the hub. I then added a LTE gateway and the audio was still the same.

Now regarding the PD pass-through feature. I used it on a Lenovo notebook that uses 65 watt PD power on USB-C. The notebook power was fine as was the data. (Notebook operating and battery charging. ) However you really don’t get an extra usb port since the PD power supply now occupies one of the ports on the hub.

Rather you really need this feature when you have a device with one USB-C port AND you want to power the device and also use data. In the PD pass-through mode there is audible coil whine. Not loud, but it is there.

In the past I have returned devices with loud coil whine and this unit is not that loud. In fact sitting on my desk is the Lenovo PD with some coil whine and a nice Ottlite that whines in the middle light level.

For technical reasons there will always be coil whine and if you aren’t running loud fans, it will be audible. There is no whine if the device is not used in PD pass-through. I’m going to use the hub most of the time without the pass-through feature.

However the newer cellphones use the PD standard and have only one usb-c port, so I have a hub handy to allow both charging the phone and attaching devices. I don’t have a phone that used PD power so I couldn’t test this but since that feature worked on the notebook I trust it will work on a phone.

I use a laptop while watching tv. I have a stand which allowed me to attach a Belkin dock with all sorts of connections. I only used the extra usbc and usb3 connectors. It was self powered. I decided to get this dock which is much smaller and has all the connectors I use.

It’s small footprint and quality design is appreciated. I gave it only 4 stars because it is not self powered so when I turn my laptop off I can‘t charge my phone overnight through it. Small price to pay though.

I don’t have any more to say than that it works as designed. I needed to get more Thuderbolt ports than the 4 on my MBP, and this was the only device I found that gives you one extra USB-C port after taking up one on the MacBook Pro to connect it to.

It seems wells made, simple, elegant design. The color is a little darker than my silver MBP, maybe closer to space grey. Attractive and compact nonetheless. I will not hesitate to purchase another one or more if I need more USB-C port.

I have an older laptop that I’ve steadily upgraded but it lacks a USB-C port. It has an older mini display port so I needed a way to connect this to a USB-C docking station for my two monitors. This worked like a charm for extending my display to the two external monitors, unlike other adapters that can’t be used this way.

The only downside is that you can’t use this adapter to charge a laptop and at least for me, I can’t use the headphone jack on the docking station (a minor inconvenience).

This little gem performs exactly as demanding users would expect. And in a world of ever changing and evolving ways to connect USB devices is a must-have. I didn’t notice any speed degradation using this adapter.

Buying it in stock from a my local Microcenter saved me two or three days over buying from that big behemoth on-line store. A great way to breathe new life into an aging, but still a real hot-rod, computer.

It’s an adapter. It adapts. I bought it originally to connect to an external monitor, but I’ve also used it to connect an Oculus Quest 2 to my laptop that lacks USB-C ports. Don’t expect it to work full-speed using the cable they packed in with the Oculus though.

I bought this reasonably-priced adapter to replace the one that came with my phone. I wanted to listen to music from my phone via my car’s AUX input. This adapter is not recognized by my phone or my car.

I therefore cannot play audio from my phone through my car speakers except by Bluetooth.

It works. However, I expected a much more robust unit for the price. This looks like it won’t last long; the cable/wire is very light guage and simply hold together through general use. Also there is no tension relief or support at the connections.

I’d pay $2. 00 for this, not $14. 00 ($14. 00!!??). Too much trouble to send back. I’ll be thoroughly questioning any adapters I get from PE in the future.

This thing is Perfect! Just got a new phone but apparently, the audio cable went out of style so needed an adapter. This one works great however it seems that the sound is lowered compared to the original which is why it’s a 4 star instead of a 5.

Still loved it though (out of necessity).
