20 Best Vibrating Alarm Clock (2022 Updated)

I have used lumie products for more than 30 years. The range of products has increased but the quality has gone down. This clock is a case in point. It has the basic functionality that you would expect (the fade-in sunrise function, a display that is not too bright during the night) but the manufacturers have inexplicably added a alarm that increases in tempo if you don’t turn it off very quickly.

The experience is like being hit around the head with a baseball bat. None of the clocks that I bought in the past had this function, and none of the cheaper clocks in the range do it either. It is as if the manufacturers added it to punish you for not buying a more expensive option.

Can we just have a basic model that has the essential functionality, please? NB it is worth noting (because this is the mistake that we already made) that the Sunrise Alarm does not even have the fade-in sunrise function: the light comes on in steps that jerk you awake.

Why would lumie even sell such a product?.

I bought this alarm because I was returning to the office & knew I couldn’t rely on naturally waking up in time anymore once commute etc is factored in. I couldn’t face going back to that jarring iPhone alarm ! Anyway I read all the reviews – thought it’s too good to to be true and ordered it anyway (in the Black Friday sale) – it’s a lot to spend & I did worry about it but honestly it’s one of the BEST investments I’ve made in the last few years.

I even set it on days I don’t have to get up because I love waking up to the light and the birds and I set it a bit earlier on the days I do have to get up to so I can lie and listen to it for 5 mins as it makes me smile.

I love the sunset feature as well & use it most nights with the thunderstorm or crickets sound. Also the digital display can be set so that it doesn’t show at night unless you tap the lamp. This was important to me because I need complete darkness to sleep & also I don’t like clock watching at night so it’s perfect.

Basically I couldn’t do without this alarm now :-).

OK product but could be better. 1/ Illuminated numbers are too bright for me, even when dimmed. In a dark room when your eyes are adjusted to that, there’s a significant pool of light from the clock 2/ Control buttons such as +/- aren’t illuminated at all, making it more difficult to find them in the dark.

The glow from the main display makes this harder, not easier. If these were very gently lit, it would make them easier to find 3/ Why do you have to set the alarm every night? Never had to do this on any other clocks, it needs a setting where you get the same sequence every morning Overall: Product Management need to be more customer-centric.

This is the second Lumie we’ve had, we bought the top-of-the-range 750DAB last year and returned it because the snooze wouldn’t work no matter where you tapped or hit it, or how hard!.

Purchased for my mother, in her 80s, who is worried about sleeping through alarms without her hearing aids. I like the way the clock starts gently and builds up in volume as needed; you don’t have to pick the loudest setting and have it rudely blare at you right off the bat.

The shaker is effective, and the range of tones may be helpful. Primary functions are very intuitive, simple, and easy to use. It is very easy to set the clock time and alarm time. Alarm on/off is easy to set and clearly indicated by red light & icon on clock face.

Selecting wake-up modes is fairly simple – several combinations to toggle through, but Mom had no trouble understanding what was selected. Room for improvement – Minimal instructive text in the manual (tech sheet on web site is more descriptive than user manual in the box).

The manual especially fails to explain the backlight and beacon features. The instructional video on the website is very good, but Mom would not have found that on her own. As others have mentioned, it would be nice to have the option to leave the backlight on, or to have lighted digits.

It’s weird to have a clock that can’t be read from the bed or across the room. Overall it is a very good product that’s meets her needs. It is well engineered for ease of use and construction seems very solid.

When my Sonic Alarm gave out after 15 years, I had to find another clock. I was going to get another Sonic Alarm when this one caught my eyes. I saw that it had a backup battery so the clock would still work when the power goes out.

I had to get it. When I got it, it was smaller than I expected, but I liked the design. It is very easy to use. You can change the clock and alarm settings by pressing the dial button on either side and twist it.

The clock has a backlight that will only be turned on when pressing the button on the top and it will go out after a few seconds. I prefer to see the time stay lit at night, but if I have the backlight on, I won’t be able to sleep.

It is too bright. So it is better to have the backlight off during the night. Also, the vibrating device is great and that’s what I need. This Pro clock also has the flashing lights, but it is the LED lights and I don’t think it is powerful enough to wake me up unless my face happens to face the clock when the lights flash.

It has the alarm sound too but I am deaf so that won’t help me. Overall, I really like it.

A clock that can’t be read at night or across the room is just plain dumb. With all the features it has, they couldn’t keep the backlight on? You have to reach out and touch a button for the backlight to come on, and then, for only a few seconds! Some genius thought that it would be a good idea to make it hard to read! I’m returning it.

I forgot to mention that the description is misleading because it just states that it has a backlight. It should also mention that it only comes on when you press a button, and, then, only for a few seconds.

The way it is described, one is misled into thinking of the usual way clocks work – with the backlight staying on to be readable. You only find this out after you buy it! Not cool!.

I needed a new clock, one that I could read during the night. My wife bought me this curved LED clock. At first glance. still in the box, I thought it was too small, so light it would never stay in place and looked ‘cheap’.

Then. I opened the box and set it up on my night stand! Wow, it is so slick and rich looking, is easy to set, and brightness is easily adjustable. During the day, and all night, the curved design makes it stand out and easily seen, even in the brightest sunshine.

So. we bought a second one for our lake house.

Not worth the money. Looks cool. But way too expensive for what you get. Material is cheap. Its super light. Knowing the interior temperature is cool, but my thermostat tells me that if I really need to know.

My Google Nest Hub cost nearly as much.

We were looking for a clock that we could read in the dark without any problems seeing the numbers. This LED Clock was a perfect choice. It has a Hi and Lo settings for bright and is easily seen on the nightstand.

We will buy this item again for the other bedrooms.

After careful research I bought this alarm clock a few weeks ago. So pleased with it. Compact, battery lasts for ages (not had to recharge yet), and no irritating light shining from the display. Shows date/time/battery strength and if ON is facing up, it also shows the alarm set time.

Very intuitive to use. Display the time by tapping the table it’s sat on, as opposed to tapping the top of the clock, and it works beautifully. There is a delay of about half a second which took me a couple of days to realise.

No need to keep tapping! This is the more expensive version, which is metal and easy to clean, unlike the cheaper one which feels rubbery. It’s small so hardly takes up any room, and is easy to travel with.

There is also a lock feature to prevent any buttons inadvertently being pressed whilst in your suitcase. As the battery lasts so long, there’s no need to take the charger on holiday either. Exactly what I was looking for!.

Smaller than I had imagined, but very stylish and clever. As someone else has mentioned, you have to be careful when turning it over to not change the alarm set time, which is why I have only given it 4 stars not 5.

Having said that you only make the mistake once, and after that always check that it’s set to the right time before settling down for the night. Not cheap, but great design is not going to be.

I had similar products from 2004. Years ago, it was very simple and easy to use Sonic Alert clock! Unfortunately, it was already broke when storm cause power outages and suddenly it cause few of malfunction of my old alarm clock stopped working.

I look for same alarm for years and finally have new ones!! Easy to set up Sonic Alert clock without hassles.

Wife has very bad genetic hearing loss and wears hearing aids in both ears for which there is still some problem. She takes the aids out at night of course. Bought this alarm clock because it has several modes to wake someone up with hearing loss.

We found that the sound with tone was difficult for her to hear. What works best for her has been the Super Shaker and her Light on the night stand flashing. So far she has been very pleased with the results of waking her up.

I’m pleased because so far it has been a blessing. May be back with updates as needed. Thank you !.

I had a ShakeAway until the poor thing died. It’s totally dependable for me – and I work all kinds of shifts so knowing I won’t oversleep is huge. At this point, I’m only using the vibrate. For me to hear the volume would wake the neighbors! I find the controls very easy to use.

One sis uses a strobe alarm so this would fit the bill. Since the strobe also wakes her husband, she’d have the option of vibrate. I gave 5 stars because this unit does everything it claims. It won’t match your decor but it gets the job done.

I have asked for another travel vibrating alarm for Christmas. This one is not convenient for travel. I have shopped with Diglo since they were the only place available. I still buy by mail because I know they stand behind their products.

The pros with this clock are the blue display, atomic signal and the size. This is roughly the same size as a Westclox alarm clock that it replaces. One of the biggest cons I have read in reviews for this clock is a problem connecting to the atomic signal.

I didn’t have that problem. I read the instructions and moved the clock away from any other electronic devices- the instructions say 3 feet of distance. I followed that advice and had to wait something like 5 minutes for the signal to connect initially.

The clock has successfully connected since then. Some pointers- the location of my clock is not in a window sill but 2 feet away. So it isn’t far from a window. The instructions were helpful to me as some of the settings are not intuitive! You could blunder around needlessly in trying to change settings or set the alarm.

I successfully set Alarm 1. The loudness was sufficient to wake me. The alarm is a beep that doubles and gets faster the longer it runs. The base for the clock has rubber on the bottom of the feet to prevent sliding.

One negative with the instructions is that they do not identify the Time Zones. I was left to trial and error to find that. If this clock continues to connect with the atomic signal consistently and has some decent longevity it will be one of the better alarm clocks I have had.

This clock couldn’t get the atomic signal so I contacted La Crosse Technology Support 608-782-1610 their Hours are M-F 8:00 am – 6:00 pm CT, after having problem and I’m still waiting for them to call me back.

I did go to their website and ended up finding out that there are a lot of people having this problem. La Crosse Technology response was that you need to make sure it’s next to a window that faces colorado.

This alone should tell anyone wanting to buy this clock that there is something majorly wrong with the clock. I would also add that until it’s done trying to find the signal, which take 7 minute you can’t do anything to the clock.

Once it’s done you can set the time but not the AM or PM of the day. They also claim you should let it sit 24 hours facing colorado. Well it sit for 36 hours and nothing changed. So AM hours show as PM hours.

Like my title says, Buyer Beware.

A+++ This is a Fantastic Bedside Alarm Clock. The design engineers thought of everything. 2-USB Charging Ports 2-110 volt electrical plug-ins But what I like the MOST, is that the alarm starts off softly, so you can turn it off before it is that Audible Demon, that You Currently Fuss & Fight With Everyday at 6:00.

This is the best product Ive seen yet. Our hotel in Fort Lauderdale has them in all of there rooms. Thats where Id learned about them and yes love it, very easy to set and easily understandable.

Was glad to get this! As a chronic oversleeper, this impresses. It’s loud, customizable, easy to use/set up (although it’s a little more involved than most alarm clocks). I know this was originally meant to be used for the hard-of-hearing, but for those who are using this because they just can’t wake up in the AM, here’s some points to consider: Positives: 1.

The cord from the vibrating thing you put under your pillow to the alarm clock is at least four feet long–this is great, because you can place it far enough away from your bed that you can’t just unplug it/snooze without having to get out of bed.

2) It is loud. I haven’t tried the “regular” (as opposed to this “jr” version), but I’ve heard that that one is MUCH louder, and I believe that the vibrating thingy is stronger, too. 3) The variable brightness is great for those of us who are irritated by bright displays at night (and it doesn’t affect the flashing light when the alarm goes off).

Negatives: 1) Most important: you CANNOT disable the snooze. You can configure its length, but you can still just easily keep hitting it ad infinitum (or easily turn off the alarm with a flick of a switch).

If you could disable the snooze, it’d be pretty much perfect in my book. 2) Good battery backup, and retained basic settings (time, etc. ) even w/o battery backup when I moved from one outlet to another.

3) The flashing lights when the alarm goes off could be much better–there is just one at the top. Not great. 4) Has a usb charging outlet, so you can charge your phone etc. while the phone is plugged in.

Great for the price! I might try to manually disable the snooze button DIY-style. Otherwise, great for my purposes (in tandem w/ my android, set up with an app that is extra loud and makes me run around and scan barcodes all over my house lol).

I saw some reviews that indicated it was difficult to set the time and alarm and that you’d better hold on to the instruction manual for reference. I never looked at the manual and set both the time and the alarm without a problem.

You simply push and hold the time or alarm button and then push the minute or hour button until the display shows the time you want. Seems pretty standard to me. I bough this for my son as it’s time for him to get a job and he is difficult to wake.

His phone alarm was not waking him no matter what sound he was using. This alarm has worked every time. It’s so chaotic that it makes our dog leave the room to seek safety. Money well spent.

I recently started working long overnight shifts, and my old alarm wasn’t doing the job, when i accidentally overslept and was late to work 4 hours!!!, i had to find a better way to wake up. I’m very satisfied with this alarm, I can be a deep sleeper at times, but the vibrating function and the flashing LED lights of this alarm is all I need to spring out of bed fast!.

i don’t even need the siren function, which makes for a quiet form of waking up without noisy sounds for others. Best of all, it has a USB charging outlet in rear, which is very handy to have your cell phone fully charged for the start of your day.

For the cost, it is a very good investment, just those 4 hours I lost of work that day was more than what this alarm cost, let alone risking losing my job for being continuously not on time; a very good investment indeed! 🙂 Realtoruben Santa Rosa, CA.

The product was shipped on time and arrived in good condition. It was as described. Most importantly, it wakes me up. I occasionally sleep through my alarm. While not a frequent occurrence, it has still caused me problems so I looked for a solution.

I decided to purchase this model based on many positive reviews. I use the vibrator function and don’t need the buzzer. It wakes me quickly (and wakes my wife, too). UPDATE: This clock does not keep accurate time, it gains about five minutes per week.

Having an effective alarm is a moot point if it’s not at the correct time.

I assume it is a reliable clock which is expected and it does do its sonic boom thing. My previous Boom lasted over 20 years. This one has a few engineering issues: 1) The little foot thing that is supposed to hold the clock up does not fit in the channel where it’s supposed to go and is so very thin I was afraid to give it a good shove.

It won’t last long. 2) Way too light! I have to use two hands to work the OFF/ON slide. Otherwise it leaps off the bedside table or scratches it. 3) Resetting the alarm is irritating. The controls are at the back.

4) There seems to be a hanger on the back if I wanted to mount it on the wall, but that would be impossible to use in any application I can think of. It also seems to ask for a cracked case.

This clock has several features that can be customized: display brightness, snooze time, alarm duration, volume, and tone (high or low pitch). The display can be brightened or dimmed by pressing the snooze button.

The display won’t be affected by hitting snooze when the alarm is going off. Highly recommend reading the instruction booklet to fully access all of the customizable features. There are only two things I would change (hence 4 stars instead of 5).

1) Too lightweight. you need two hands to turn on/off the alarm, one to hold the clock down, the other to slide the switch on the side up and down. 2) Move alarm setting controls (hour/minute) to the front.

In all, it a great clock and I would recommend it to a friend.

This is thew very best alarm available in the world! If you’d looking for an alarm. That will definitely wake you up this is it. I have NEVER found an alarm that was capable of consistently waking me up ! Until now!.

this one does!. I am the most heavy sleeper that there is and this alarm does it for me!. it shakes you while flashing led lights and buzzing all of which in combination makes it impossible not to wake you up, as is OBVIOUSLY desired with an alarm clock!.

I was VERY skeptical of this clock being of good quality and actually waking me up- and then it arrived, and I’ve been in love with it ever since!. I have lost several jobs due to the fact that ive always overslept, but with this alarm I NEVER have to worry about that problem again! I cant praise this alarm clock enough!.

Great alarm clock. If you are a heavy sleeper or just need a loud alarm clock it’s very good but the bed shaker makes it great. I Have had a lot of alarm clocks some even claim to be louder than this clock but I always see to turn them off or learn to drown them out the sound because I just don’t get a lot of sleep.

The various sound selection this clock offers help great but being able to put it out of my reach and use the bed shaker has not failed me yet highly effective would recommend to anyone who like me who doesn’t get a lot of sleep and just doesn’t want to get up sometimes or if you are a heavy sound sleeper it’s great.

I thought it was pricey for a alarm clock but it works great is built of high quality material and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I had lots of people recommend the lumie after my Philips wake up light died. I did feel that what was offered for the price wasn’t great but thought I’d give it a go as it was on sale for black Friday.

Unfortunately the light was faulty and in the mornings the light would go off at the slightest vibration, eg putting my coffee cup on the table, and the whole cycle would start again (I eventually realised it was sending it into snooze mode).

I decided to send it back and get a refund. I didn’t like that it was so light and flimsy feeling and that there was no radio for the price. Also that you have to turn the alarm button on every night! I ended up buying one off Amazon that has radio, lots of choice of how long it takes for light to come on, two alarm settings that stay on until you turn them off, different coloured mood lights.

And was half the price.

Is Pad Thai for cheap clock. Do lot of thing. Mood lighting very cool and colorful but also very bright. No dim some? Only dim numbers, not mood light? Maybe I not experiment with enough, no know. Nice features overall.

Tells time. Date. Temperature. Sound alarm is annoying enough to wake you without causing heart palpitations like last one. Light alarm is cool idea but get very bright if to wake when still dark out, my erstwhile bedmate no like.

But shoot, for twenty dollar American, is very good clock option. I yes.

If 0 stars was an option I would give it. Received item. Plugged it in and after 1 day the clock started blinking. The next day the clock would not turn on at all. I seen other people that had the issue but like most people probably will also seen some good reviews.

Trust me. Do not buy this clock. I’ve tried other outlets just to make sure. It’s a complete waste of money. I wish I would have believed the negative reviews.

This is a great alarm clock. I love how it changes between all the different colors and you can also adjust how bright you want them also. I use this in my daughters bedroom for a nightlight for her not just a clock.

The USB port makes it really convenient to charge your devices without using up all your wall outlets. I highly recommend this clock.

Product is really nice and loud – but the directions are required to use the product – it is nothing you can figure out on your own – and believe me, if you set off the alarm without having a handle on the instructions, you are in trouble – you will be pulling off the battery case to shut the thing off.

While the options for the machine are nice, again, it is not easy to use – you have to slide a switch here, hold down two keys there. Love the product and a great item to bug a child who refuses to get up, but be prepared for the child to throw the alarm out the door, and then go back to sleep.

Just getting some kids out of bed is enough. However, after a couple of times hiding the alarm in the room, I haven’t had to use it. It has promise, but I have scanned the directions AND copied them and pasted them to the back of the alarm.

I’ve used one of these for years and it always works great. This is the only alarm clock I have had that is loud enough to consistently wake me from the deepest sleep. It’s absolutely not kidding LOUD.

That said, I have read in some reviews that the clock jumps ahead when cancelling the alarm. This is because cancelling the alarm requires pressing the same 3 buttons that set the clock. I have found that this will not occur if you press the key button on the front LAST while holding the other two in.

Having learned that, it’s not a problem. Also, you will have to set the alarm each time it is used. It does not remain set each day like most do. This is good though because as loud as this thing is, you do NOT want it to go off accidentally if you plan to sleep in.

the clock is perfect! if u woulndt awake after the ring! ur arent be alive if u arent still listen the max out sound when are u sleeping ur neighborth honest here that and knock so long that u wakeup.

but if not they call the fire depardment after the firealarm ringtone and the fireman open ur door with a picaxe and than are u certain wakup if u got the 20. 000 euro bill for the wrong rescue mission u will not sleep also the next time because u realy need to save much money without a good liabilityinsurance.

As a hearing impaired person, this is supposed to be my main alarm clock (home and travel). It has a strong vibration – good. The snooze function/the alarm can be easily stopped when you want – good.

The snooze function has a couple of problems: 1. No way to make sure it is on. The icons on the screen do not ensure this upon setting the alarm clock. The snooze may be on or off – what you see on the screen looks exactly the same.

The alarm can be set on but the snooze may not work. 2. The snooze takes too long to kick in. About 20 minutes – which means that if you drift back into sleep, you’ll be very late! A useful snooze should kick in within a few minutes.

Also, there is no low indication for batteries. so one day, the alarm clock won’t vibrate because the batteries are finished. No way to know that in advance. Overall, a good product – except for the problems with the snooze function.

Very strong vibrations wake me up. I got this after having had my shake awake alarm for over 20 years. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t get it again, but glad to find this one. I like this one, although it would be nice if it was a little bit smaller like the shake awake.

Really, it is still a nice size, still slender enough to put under my pillow. Hoping this one lasts 20 years or more. We shall see. I’m deaf, and this is a necessity. The alarm on my cell phone just doesn’t wake me up, because it’s not strong enough at all.

I recommend this product for those like me who need vibrating alarms.

Pros: Big lighted numerals are easy to see at night. The back light comes on only when you want it. It is slim and fits easily under the pillow without making a big lump. The vibration is fairly strong.

Cons: When I switch the alarm to vibration only, the alarm doesn’t go off at all. So I have to keep it on all modes of alarm, then the vibration works. However, the audio alarm then wakes up my partner (even though with my hearing) I still don’t hear it.

I don’t use the alarm all that often and thankfully my partner is willing to suffer through the times that I do.

I love this little clock. I have not messed with the light settings yet, so I can’t speak to the sunrise feature but I get so many compliments on it just set to the red light. It basically doubles as a night light because I don’t like to sleep in total darkness.

I bought four of these as gifts for my nieces an nephew (ages 10 through 25). Each person who received one, loved it. They immediately stopped everything to set it up, and each commented on their enjoyment of the colors.

These were all students who desperately needed an alarm clock that they wouldn’t resist using. Time will tell if they indeed use the device regularly, but, I can say for certain that the clocks make great gifts.

A big plus is that it has a battery backup system! In case of power failure, the “SHARP Digital Alarm Clock – with Sleep Sounds” will not turn off. Of course, batteries have to be installed in the clock! On that note, the “SHARP Digital Alarm Clock – with Sleep Sounds” does not bring batteries.

Those have to be purchased separately, and put in the clock. We can always see the time, as the numbers are a good size, with a soft red glow. The “SHARP Digital Alarm Clock – with Sleep Sounds” is a very modern clock which will enhance any decor! I most certainly recommend the “SHARP Digital Alarm Clock – with Sleep Sounds”!.

For anyone with hearing loss, this is a fantastic alarm! I have already recommended the alarm to two other people and have only had the clock or three days! The bed shaker works amazingly.

I work night shift and have neighbors who love to mow their lawns and rev their car engines in the middle of my “night. ” So I bought some industrial- strength earplugs to drown out the noise. Only problem was then losing even more sleep by being worried I would not hear my alarm with the earplugs in.

This clock solved that problem. It’s very loud with the volume turned up. The vibration pad you put under the pillow is very strong and would wake even the soundest sleeper. The clock is easy to use right out of the box.

Highly recommended!.

Purchased a while back probably over a year and have been very disappointed in how it keeps time. In 10 weeks it gained 6 minutes. There is no way to set the time back, you can only run it forward 24 hours and try to stop it 15 or 20 minutes early then continue using the slow mode until it reaches the correct time.

I may be missing something on how to adjust the time so it keeps pretty close to the correct time but it isn’t in the manual that comes with it.

In general I like the clock. I found it easy to set up and use. The snooze button is useful, as is gives you time to turn the alarm off. My main criticism is that the lights are overdone. When all the flashing lights are on it is difficult to tell what time it is.

The clock hands are almost invisible. Few flashing lights with clock hands somehow outlined would help. Also a clip on the bed shaker to attach it to the sheet would be good as it slides off the bed otherwise.

Putting it under the ,mattress makes it inoperable. Also I would appreciate a slightly longer cord.

The best loudest alarm clock I’ve found yet. I’m a very heavy sleeper and rarely hear normal alarm clocks. With this one I’ve never slept through. The vibrating box, under the pillow, could easily be used on its own.
