20 Best Videographer For Wedding (2022 Updated)

I had almost pulled the trigger on an L-mount S1H but decided against building an entirely new system with a new mount. When the full details of the GH6 were revealed, I realized it was a mini S1H and even a bit more.

I have a huge number of lenses (native m4/3 and adapted lenses using Metabones adaptors) so the decision was easy. Now, after a couple of weeks of usage, I am really pleased with the versatility and output – both stills and motion.

The auto focus is a bit faster, more responsive and more accurate than the very good G9 (in single shot – I almost never use CAF). I am equally a still and motion shooter and I have much to explore as far as the many features for both applications, so it is far too early for any concrete observations.

However, I have shot enough stills using the basic photo and video features to say that the new sensor is a significant step up in every way I have been able to compare – especially for walk around shooting, HHHR, and tripod HR.

Using SilkyPix SE, the files are rich with both color information and textural detail and can be pushed significantly. I am really looking forward to a more familiar RAW importer to be able to compare old workflows with this new file format.

The files write instantaneously to both cards (though the HHR and HR processing are only a tad faster than the G9) and the camera is just far snappier in every respect. As far as video, it seems like a close comparison to the GH5S.

Files are clean and easily usable up to and beyond ISO 3200 (I have not tested the special dynamic range mode yet) and am really looking forward to using the camera in ProRes RAW mode when the firmware is updated to do so.

More on that later. Did I mention the IBIS? It rocks! Way better than the G9 or GH5. Probably the basis of why the HHHR is so effective.

I came from Sony’s APS-C cameras and primarily am reviewing the GH5 Mark II as a video camera. Overall: The GH5 Mark II feels like a modern camera and delivers exceptionally cinematic performance in almost every way.

It has the new S-series menu systems, usb-c, larger batteries supports professional video recording options. If you never owned a GH5, , then realize the camera is a little smaller than it appears in photos, which I think is a good thing.

You’ll need fast cards to capture the high quality formats (C4K 10-bit 4:2:2 etc. ) but the good thing is you don’t need any external recorders. Image quality: The GH5 Mark II out of the box using Cine-D or V-Log L picture profiles results in image that is so much more flexible than Sony’s 8-bit format.

The color science and rendering also feels more natural than the GH3 which I also owned. In my opinion ISO is useful up to 6400 with clean up and the dynamic range holds up at higher ISOs pretty well.

S5 vs GH5 Mark II The S5 and the GH5 Mark ii are almost the same price, so I’ll explain why a GH5 Mark ii might be more suitable for certain people. Don’t let the MFT size sensor fool you. Shallow DOF is easily attainable.

But it’s not even always desirable as it’s less of a concern for filmmaking. In that way, the MFT system seems ideal. I found it easy to adapt to other lens systems, especially for anamorphic shooting.

MFT and vintage lens are affordable compared to L-mount lens. With a 25mm F1. 8 the shallow DOF is substantial. But I also tested it with a Nikon 50mm f1. 4 and 0. 71x speedbooster and it feels like I I may be meeting or exceeding the DOF of Super 35mm (APS-C sized sensors).

As a bonus, the GH5 Mark II has better IBIS than the S5 by a large margin. And you also get Open Gate anamorphic mode which uses the entire sensor to capture video.

This product has some design flaws: The camera comes with a 32-page printed manual, but it is only a summary. I need to download the PDF version to see the entire manual. The ferrite core is not built into the power cord (even though the manual states the importance of attaching the core).

I needed to manually attach it. If the ferrite core is so important, it should already be attached to the power cord when I bought the product. The camera comes with a plastic lens cap, but it is not connected to the camera, making it easy to misplace.

My previous camcorders had a better design (lens cover is built in, and opens/closes automatically). When I press the Disp Batt Info button (to see how full the battery is) when the camera is turned off, the first bar in the bar graph is never lit, making it difficult to comprehend what the screen is displaying.

When in recording mode, the top of the display has a number like 5:05:04. 25. It’s obviously some type of clock (the value increases when recording) but the manual does not say what this value means nor how to reset it.

The Face detection & tracking feature appears to be worthless. All it does is display a box around the person’s face on the touchscreen (adding more clutter to the display); it does not alter the recording at all.

The camera lens does NOT move to follow the person. When deleting video clips, one of the options is to delete all. But another option is to delete 112_0831. To me, that looks like a filename, meaning it will delete that ONE particular file.

Instead it deleted ALL the files recorded on August 31! The 112_ prefix appears to be meaningless. The 0831 suffix should be in the MM/DD format I specified in the settings so I will realize the camera is referring to a date rather than a sequential filename.

The IFC-400PCU USB cable is NOT included. And with the cable the transfer speed is only USB 1. 0 or 2. 0 (I’m not sure which, but definitely not 3. x) The camera supports TWO memory cards. But when I connect the camera to my Windows 11 PC via the IFC-400PCU USB cable, Windows only shows ONE of the memory cards.

By the way, I checked and the camera already has the latest version of its firmware. The cover for the DC IN connector is held on by a tiny piece of plastic, which I am sure will break off soon. Having a sliding cover would be a better design.

I have always done corporate video work and back in the day used prosumer equipment (a Canon A1 digital then Canon GL-1). I switched to Sony with the advent of HD but was always unhappy with the features (or lack thereof) as they were more consumer than prosumer for the same price point.

I have switched back to Canon with the Vixia HF G50 (they could have used a simpler naming scheme), and am very pleased to once again have professional features at a prosumer price. Whereas Sony and Panasonic do not have a standard LANC/CTRL-L port, the Vixia HF G50 does, allowing use of variable-speed zoom, tripod-handle-mounted remotes.

The Canon menu interface is also very intuitive (Sony is confusing). I also appreciate that the Canon can output 720p natively (good for streaming) yet also goes all the way up to 4K. Two memory card slots allow for continuous recording.

The retina flip-out display makes for more accurate focusing. The lens flare hood mechanism is ingenious (flip a switch and a physical lens cap is automatically lowered completely over the lens). Even the location of the ports is well thought out.

Instead of putting the HDMI port under the flip-out display (causing it to stick out in the way of your view if livestreaming), it’s located on the right side of the camera along with the audio in and remote in.

A short, right-angle mini HDMI to HDMI cord (not included) allows a very tidy setup of cables for livestreaming. Clean HDMI output (no on-screen data) is of course essential for livestreaming. I also appreciate that no auto shut-off really means no auto shut-off (unlike the Canon 5D Mark IV where if you enable the camera back display it still times out after 30 minutes, a huge annoyance).

Whereas some cameras have difficulty pushing through the video signal through long HDMI cables, this one pushes through a 100-foot HDMI cable without any artifacts or blanking out. On the downside, I’m trying to assess whether when outputting at reduced resolutions, the camera introduces more moire than other cameras (might be my imagination).

Battery life is excellent, running for in excess of 3 hours on a charge (streaming, not recording).

Let’s start off with the good: The build quality feels great, and it has a nice weight to it. The mounting arms/flaps are big and sturdy, and just feel nice and overbuilt, in a good way. The camera also looks cool! The built in light is also a plus, and it’s cool how it’s easily adjusted by turning the ring on the outside of the light.

A clever design. Now for what I don’t like: The built in light is nice, but the image quality is worse than similarly priced models from LG. Don’t get me wrong, the image quality is not terrible, and there are other webcams which have worse quality.

But for the price, I am disappointed. The LG models I have tried do not actually need a light to get good image quality, while the Razer suffers from poor quality unless the light is on. Also, the controls from within the Razer Synapse app are not as user friendly and intuitive as those on the LG app.

I don’t like how I can not adjust the image in the Razer app while simultaneously using the webcam for lets say, a zoom call. Also, integration into Windows is also not as easy as the LG products I have used.

One other thing I don’t like about the Kiyo is that the low light compensation mode is enabled by default and there is no way to permanently disable it; it resets automatically. When this mode ison, the video from the cam is worse quality in exchange for trying to get a brighter picture.

I am in no way sponsored or supported or even a fanboy of LG, but from personal experience, I know I will buy one of their webcams next time instead of a Razer.

I’m really liking this webcam. The image quality is good, and, at least in my small, dark office, the built-in illumination does a great job of lighting up me and my surroundings. On Windows 10, setup was easy enough.

After connecting the USB-A cable and waiting a few seconds, a Razer installation window automatically opened. It makes you go through a couple of dialog screens before downloading a 351 MB (if you choose only the main application, Synapse).

After the installation is complete you’ll have access to a variety of image effect settings if you want it. A rather nice bonus for me is that this camera works with Linux, at least with Ubuntu 20. 04.

While I’d be surprised if it were officially supported, it worked out of the box for me. Cheese (a GNOME webcam application) detected it fine. And it also works fine under Google Meet. In addition to attaching to the top of a monitor, the webcam can sit flat on a surface, and it can be mounted on a tripod.

I have fairly thin bezels on my display, and the lip that hangs over the edge of the top of the monitor hangs down a little past the edge of the bezel, maybe around 2 millimeters or so. There’s a good amount of downward swing on the camera, so this issue can be mitigated by opening the back arm wider and leaning the entire mount back, so it’s not a big deal for me.

Overall, I’m quite happy with this webcam and would recommend it.

I use this for specific platforms for teaching internationally. Not ideal for a MAC. Lots of YouTube videos say it can be used. Download the app, pay 12$ to manage it. The webcam has a great image. The ring light is awesome, manually controlled, slightly irritating when running webinars.

It has difficulty focusing when objects like an iPhone with an image or an object are raised in front. My MAC webcam can adjust immediately. There is a delay periodically between actions, sound and image, again, frustrating during classes, I have to stop and refresh to reset the webcam.

Control panel on the app is okay and gives me enough control of the camera to make it fit my needs. I actually started with the Kiyo Pro, but the lighting control wasn’t as I expected and it was even worse for focusing.

DO NOT BUY DIRECT FROM RAZER, costing me a fortune to return and restock. waste of money when I could have bought it at Best Buy and exchange direct. Will I keep it, yes because it eliminates the need for additional lights for me which is why I bought it and the price wasn’t outrageous.

Would I buy it again, nope.

(I rated Customer Service for the web site where the ordering process was excellent: I didn’t deal directly with staff. ) The Panasonic GX9 is the official successor to the GX8, which I have. They both use the same sensor, albeit the GX9 with the Anti-alias filter removed.

However, the GX9 is closer in size/function to the GX7, which I also have. They both use the same battery. The GX9 has the same small hand grip and tilt LCD as the GX7. The GX8 has a larger hand grip and fully articulating screen, both of which are useful with the large Panasonic Leica 100-400mm lens which is my most used lens on that camera.

The larger EVF on the GX8 is better for me since I wear glasses. While the GX9 a fine camera in many ways, I much prefer the GX8 for use with the larger lens. Thus, for my uses, I can not consider the GX9 an “upgrade” to the GX8.

I enjoyed it so much I bought it! I’ve been working with Lensrentals since 2008 and, in my opinion, they’re the best rental company around. What Roger Cicala has started has continued on. My Olympus E-P5 wasn’t working correctly, so I rented a Panasonic GX-9 to see how I liked it.

A week later I extended my rental and added a Fuji X-E4 and X-Pro3, along with a couple of lenses. While I love the Fuji’s (I previously had an X-E3), the little Panasonic, for size and cost, was unbeatable.

It worked great for a few months. then my phone updated to android 12 now going on 2 months its nothing but bluetooth connection issues making all the special features unusable. My wifes phone uodated to android 12 too and does the same thing.

The app. go check out the android app store and search for it. it doesnt exist. you have to sideload the apk to your phone which is absolutely unacceptable. if it cant be approved for the app store then it probably has some sketchy issues.

I bought this for my ze-e10 and now we are 4 months post release and DJI shows no signs of supporting it. Its been a long time since we’ve seen a firmware update. DJI support will tell you to reset your phone which is a giant hassle that doesnt work especially when you have multiple phones to test on.

As far as my experience goes, it appears this gimbal is abandoned by DJI, I wouldn’t but it in 2022.

Using with Sony A7C and Tamron 17-28 and Tamron 28-73. Have to rebalance if change lens. Have not tried a longer lens. If balanced with A7C screen closed then flipping out the A7C screen stresses the motors but not enough to force automatic shutdown.

For me this is not a one hand device. Have added a handle grip accessory. That item adds weight, but trades off for ease of handling and carrying. Also, the handle has cold shoe mounts allowing me to put the phone on the handle, not the camera for panorama and timelapse.

I was patient and watched YouTube how-to-balance videos to see what non experts did to get balance through trial and error. Buttons and joystick favor right hand operators. Usually I am too involved monitoring the camera view to look at the SC buttons and lights.

I am learning to operate the SC by feel. When setting up for a session turn on the SC before turning on the camera; else I get cable errors. Prefer to use the SC to reduce shake over Sony IBIS and Catalyst.

Have not had the opportunity to video fast action, only slow walks, slow pans and slow “diagonal” tracking. Still doing trial and error with when to use ninja walk. For my expected use of stationary slow pans of landscape, large indoor rooms, and slow moving trains, airplanes, water craft, the SC may be a good tool at the right price.

It is Lightweight. It is sturdy. It has all the shoes and 1/4 inserts you may need. I got a Samsung s8 active with a protective case. It JUST fits in. If I want to use any of the addon wide angle, fisheye or tele lenses that hold with a clip, I do have to take the shock case off.

If I leave it on the sliding grip while using lens adapters the spring loaded grip will hold the power button where the phone will be triggering its speech to text feature. Overall it is a great buy.

Due to the smaller size. One thing I will say, if you shoot RAW like I do and you have an old desktop version of lightroom, you will no longer be able to use it. You will be forced to upgrade to the monthly online subscription.

(I have had my old version for years and had been avoiding this since I knew how to use my original one, and felt no need to switch before). The 2 other cameras I have are the nikon D5500 and D800 incase you are wondering what I’m comparing to.

They are also both great cameras, but you can’t beat seeing the real time view on the view finder when you adjust iso or anything else. Also this works with snapbridge which makes me so happy.

I bought this camera for its IBIS to use it with vintage manual focus lenses. I have had improved results compared to the alpha 600 with lenses with focal length up to 180mm. I use it with a focal reducer so the effective focal length of the 180,, is actually 130 mm which is what I set on the stabilization.

I have also used it with wide angle lenses which do not need much stabilization. I bought it after reading that the newer Sony IBIS models are not advertised as having any improvement on IBIS over this version.

The seller listed this well with good photos and a shutter count that was accurate. I suggest that buying a used Sony camera with out a listed shutter count is a gamble not woth taking. Fior reference my 6000 has a count of over 200,000 but Sony suggests 100,000 is a limit.

There is so much to love about the A6500. I bought it with the 18-135 lens and it’s brilliant for almost all everyday situations, the size and weight are great (especially for hiking) , the auto focus in particular is super fast and accurate.

I love the latitude of the pictures, you can seriously under expose parts of the image and have other bits over exposed and using Lightroom process the image to look just right. Tracking auto focus for photographing birds and animals is fantastic.

There are 2 things I do not like 1) the screen has very limited movement, I thought I would be able to live with it but it’s hopeless for proper low level photography of flowers etc, you can not use it at all in a portrait orientation and for that reason I wouldn’t buy a camera with this screen again (why do Sony think only Full frame users want a proper screen!) and 2) After 2 years mine has become unreliable, sometimes it just freezes, sometimes the buttons and dials behave in a very strange way, sometimes it just seems to have a life of its own.

which is very frustrating! I do not use it for video so I find it impossible to rate the sound quality!.

As a beginner after looking through a few YouTube videos I found the camera relatively easy to use. Great picture quality and easily exported to phone to upload. Nice weight, feels comfortable in your hands.

The lense works perfectly with this camera. Together they are worlds away from my camera phone which is what I had been using. I got a few batteries with the bundle but have found I have not needed to change too often except for 4k video.

Just remember to turn off when not using it. Touch screen is useful and camera auto switches between touch screen and viewfinder when it detects something near the viewfinder which is handy but took a little while to get used to.

Great picture and audio quality. purchased the 305 for its HD-SDI Out. This is professional/commercial grade connection rather than the consumer HDMI connection. This is the primary reason I purchased the 305 over the 300.

Both provide impressive video quality in both low light and regular light environments. I shot a musical with the cameral and the quality is stunning in low/irregular light. I have been using Canon 300’s and now the 305 for several years both are GREAT cameras.

I’m definitely after this as my #giftcrush this year! The camera is super easy to use, reliable and is the best companion for a filming trip! It definitely met my expectations, more importantly if you were comparing it to something like an FS7 or an FS5 I think it would hold up pretty well especially considering the vast price difference!.

Bought it used cause I didnt have enough to get a new camera with the same capability as this camera. It uses flash cards so no need for tapes for this reason I picked it up and really like this camera.

Where to start with this camera. I switched to this camera from a Nikon D750, and was absolutely satisfied. I mainly am a concert photographer and Sony’s low light ability is absolutely unparalleled.

The A7riii fixed a lot of problems, especially battery life. This camera is still behind canon in Nikon in some aspects, but the images and quality speak for itself.

I really like this camera, if you are an amateur that enjoys photography this is a great camera for you. Easy to use and transport. Resistant and versatile. Affordable lenses and good quality photos.

A fabulous brand that has such great cameras. I loved and used this camera so much in film school. I love how you can have so many options for the ISO whether you have lots of light or low light conditions.

It works great with rokinon ads as well as sigma lenses. You will need a speed adapter depending on the lens. It’s also great at 120p and 60p and 23. 97p.

It was an easy choice for me. I have two D750 bodies I still use, but having a more compact, quieter camera for my photojournalism jobs I find this camera supports all those needs. It’s not the fastest camera, but I’m not missing any shots.

The files look beautiful, the camera feels great in my hands and I love those barely audible shutters especially when I’m getting close to people I’m just only meeting during an assignment. My only complaint is that I mostly use prime lenses and when switching non-Z-mount lens off of that mount adapter is not the easiest thing to do, especially during soft early morning light.

I’m sure over time it will become pure muscle memory, but so far it’s not a favorite moment during my shoots. Most of my work is still work, but the video is solid with great stabilization. No complaints there at all.

Also, having dual SD cards feels like a no brainer. Who wants to spend more on card space. Battery life is less than what I got with my D750s. But my last shoot I took about 2000 frames shooting in RAW, no stabilization, in manuel mode, and I was looking through that camera viewfinder a lot for a 4-hour shoot and the battery was 1/4 depleted by the end of that shoot.

So not as bad as I heard at all. Overall I’m very happy with this camera.

It can be synced and controlled with up to four cameras, using a PC laptop or suitable notebook. The timecode and start/stop record all controlled. With auto lenses, the focus, white balance, iso, photo style all can be computer controlled.

It can be streamed using OBS multiple cameras using a suitable switcher. It has many many professional options for filmmakers, but makes an exceptionally good photographer’s camera too. It also allows you complete access to the hugely popular and highly successful micro four thirds system of lenses.

Which gives access to specialist film dedicated lenses such as the Sirui anamorphic, and also the deluxe Leica series of Panasonic lenses. An absolutely superb camera.

The GH5s is a great camera. My GH5s is a used camera but everything is checking out well. Looking forward to using the camera for video, as well as still, photography. My Panasonic lenses work perfectly with this camera.

The optical image stabilization is in the lens as there is no stabilization in the camera body. stabilization switch on lens will set the icon on the LCD display. No IBIS was done to offer a new/larger image sensor.

The controls are in the same places as my G6/G7 cameras. The display/recall button is now in the upper left-side of the LCD by the LVF button. Menus seem almost identical to G6/G7 cameras but have mounds of more features/settings.

Especially looking forward to trying out all the various video settings. I miss a strobe on the camera but there is a hot-shoe if one is needed. I especially like the mini-joystick. and along with the quad-button and rotary dials, makes for easily setting functions on the camera.

The camera is barely heavier than my G7. The batteries are different than for the G6/G7 also. I’m still reading the manual. much to read about. and watching videos. Just might pick up another GH5s!!.

Yes Yes Yes. My Panasonic Lumix cameras beat out Kodak, Canon and Nikon products every time. The cera’s are very sophisticated and take amazing pictures. It is great for beginners and experts because you can use the preset settings manually adjust all of the settings to create a photo to your liking.

There are so many compatible lenses and accessories for this camera. You can customize your shot millions of ways. This camera is worth the money. I don’t even consider any other brand of cameras anymore.

Extremely professional quality photos. Amazing lenses and accessories. All of the presets you need for any setting. Manual settings for the advanced photographer. Really high zoom lens lets you shoot far away without distorting your image.

Any photography enthusiast should buy a Panasonic Lumix camera. They have many models to choose from so you will find the right one for your needs and experience level.

I am comparing this camera with my old DSLR Nikon D5500 that has the same sensor size, same number of pixels and overall comparable set of features. I also used very comparable zoom lenses. Considering that Nikon is 6 years old and cost less, I expected to get at least as good image quality from the new Sony a6400.

Here is what I have in fact after doing extensive side by side comparison: * SONY tends to use higher ISO at the same conditions, and even at the same ISO its images are noisier (I used fine and extra-fine settings).

Essentially, it cannot be used for indoor photography without a flash even in a very light room. * Bokah effect is more pleasing in case of Nikon than in SONY in most cases. For those unfamiliar, this is the aesthetic quality of washed up background in the pictures with selective focus.

And when you have a zoom lens 18-135, you definitely will use selective focus for portraits etc. * The use of touch screen is very limited in the SONY. There is no easy way of scrolling the pictures and zooming by using usual touch-screen gestures.

A couple of observations unrelated to the Nikon/SONY comparison. * There are wifi and blue tooth connection features, but they are buggy and pretty much don’t work. The app needed for transferring photos is not even available anymore.

* As a positive point, I can mention very detailed menu with a lot customization. Altogether, I do not recommend this camera, at least as an upgrade.

The version I bought comes with a simple 16-50mm lens to get started, and having owned it for a year, it’s served as primarily a video camera with photography on the side, and has even been used as a webcam.

Compared to what I was using before, this is a marked improvement as the quality of the video is substantially better. Photos are also very good, although you may want to invest in some better lenses, as the one that came with mine – although perfectly sufficient for the camera to work – results in pretty soft images with a few problems around the edges (though if you have photo editing software, that won’t be too big a problem).

The menu is a bit finnicky, however; it can be a bit awkward to find certain settings, but it’s still reasonably navigable. The only real downside to this camera is the audio; if you want good audio, you simply need an external microphone, because the camera’s mic is very tinny and not very pleasant to listen to.

It’s also accepts USB Micro-B instead of USB C, so that’s something to take into consideration. In all, it’s a very good camera for the price I paid at the time, and if you happen to upgrade to a different camera in the future, it’d be wise to keep this as a B-camera.

I bought this camera, a bit more than a year ago. I am very happy to have it as it has all the necessary features for still and video. It has a lot of advantages, for example the crop factor of 1. 5x makes my 70-200m G lens be an effective 105 – 300mm G lens.

This is great because I can have basically the 10-18 F4, the 18-105 F4 and the 70-200 (effective 105-300mm) F4. You can also have the 200-600mm which would be an effective 300-900 mm and most of them would be at a constant F4, internal zoom and image stabilization across the board.

I have most of these lenses too and I couldn’t be happier about them! The crop sensor is brilliant, it takes amazing stills and the density of pixels means sharper images. The only addition I would make to this camera, would be the ibis.

That would be an amazing feature. I guess that’s why they made the A6600. As a first proper camera, it has a big learning curve but I enjoy it every time. One of the moat enjoyable objects I have ever bought in my entire life!.

I’ve been doing photojournalism, video, and commercial photography professionally / full time since 1987. This thing is great! Did H. C. B. , Eisenstadt, or Arbus need any of the tech? No, but they would have loved this.

Does it have IBS? No, and I don’t care. I had an assignment today, and I had my trusty Sony A7iii gear that’s about worn out, I divorced Nikon about 8 years ago for Sony. I may just divorce Sony Now.

I have a Fuji GFX for commercial work and have an adapted Horsman that I use it with for movements. This G100 is incredible. No earphone? Who cares, I checked the audio and it was great. Sure if I were doing footage of a half-billionaire I’d pull out the Sony A7 and listen to the feed as the person talks, but for everything else this little camera is incredible.

It’s intuitive, the AWB was very good, the Slow Quick setting is so easy to set, and has my editors saying, wow that’s great stuff, and I delivered it from the camera to my phone and to the web while I munched on my lunch.

The Panasonic App phone app is so much better than the Sony App that can be painful to use and less than intuitive. So. I divorced Nikon for Sony saying the Sony 70-200 f4 focused on the a6000, like a fortune teller living 3 seconds in the future.

(8 years ago), and this Panasonic WITH KIT LENS !!!! does audio like an audio engineer is right beside me. It also focuses like a bat out of hades! The video is great, the kit lens is sharp and the image stabilization is great.

While all the white lens big body people look cool, I’m going to show up at my next gig with about 50 ounces of gear and not give a care that I look like a dad at an event. This thing is great ! Panasonic of you are listening, I’m 55, my eyesight isn’t good enough to use a mirror box camera, sold my Hasselblad kits, no looking back, I love the world I’m living in.

BTW I got about 400 images and a 18, mp4 video clips before the battery needed swapped.

I don’t get why many Youtubers put so much hate on this capable little camera. I use this camera mainly for traveling and taking B-Roll shots for my internship Job. It is more than capable to take top notch video and photos.

If you want to know the video limit, shooting in 4k(No Crop) is 10 mins. 1080p 60fps is 20 mins, 1080p 30fps is 30 mins. Overall, it is more than enough to have it as professional B-Roll Shot camera because of it’s lightweight size and stabilization(recommend standard, High will crop your image).

Panasonic Lumix’s Color’s are phenomenal, but they only fall short when it comes to low light performance. I mean it is expected, because the small sensor(MFT). If you want to still shoot it in low light without having any noise, you would have to purchase a lens that has 2.

0 or below aperture to give you the extra bit of light. I recommend the 25mm 1. 7 lens, it cost as low $150 that has good AF. The AF in this camera is good, not great nor amazing. But it is enough to get by.

Panasonic and Olympus has endless of lens options that are great quality! Price range is from $100 and up. Plus, the focal length is 2X , because of it’s small sensor. For an Example, a 25mm for a MFT will considered to be 50mm.

A nice little portrait lens. It is also have a built in mic port which most camera in this price range will not have one. Since, I’m a student from my university, I got this camera for $536 plus tax; which it is steel considering what it can do for a small compact camera.

Now, if you were planning to use it as your main camera, then I recommend to look else where. This camera good for people who wants it as your B camera or want it to move from smartphone to the camera world.

This camera grows with you as you learn about Photography/Cinemaphotography.

For a specific type of person. I’m reviewing this as a semi-pro/hobby mainly still photographer with a growing interest in video. So as I am not using this system to its fullest potential yet that is something to bear in mind.

And also my critiques on the firmware are that of a photographers perspective. With that out of the way, I find this to be a very capable camera. And I will just say it straight away, if you want a travel kit, with interchangeable lenses, video/photo that make for an easy workflow when you sit down to edit, especially if you are on the go, this is the best system for you.

If you want anything else specifically, look elsewhere. Since it is so new none of the photo editing software recognizes the raw files yet and I haven’t bothered to convert them to do major editing. That said I’ve worked with Panasonic raw files before from this sensor and they are extremely flexible.

But the JPEGs are more than enough for posting most places anyways. Just a bit of cropping and maybe a border and I’m finished. Very easy and fast workflow. I almost never even have to properly align the horizon since the cameras built in level in the VF works amazingly well.

The EVF is fantastic. Big and bright never hard to see it. The flip screen is a place of contention for some but as a stills photographer I prefer it to a tilt screen. If you work primarily in extreme low light conditions, look to full frame.

That does not include astrophotographers, as there are many togs shooting the stars on every kind of sensor. It’s just about knowing your system. When I say low light I mean moving subjects. 4K photo mode is definitely useful, I would definitely recommend it if you have very active pets.

I have used many of my other four thirds lenses on this system and it performs just as well as the kit. If you are on a budget consider looking at an adapter plus some four thirds vintage lenses. In conclusion, get this if you want portability and ease of use.

I pre-ordered the rs3 pro to replace my rs2. It has slightly longer arms and an auto-locking feature. Both are useful, but I could tell something was wrong with it the first time I took it out on a shoot.

I was fighting it on many shots. After careful testing I found that the follow controls have deteriorated in quality. There seems to be a secondary deadband even with deadband set to zero, and control catches suddenly past a certain threshold making subtle movements, especially stops, starts and changes in direction much more jerky than they should be and makes certain precise long lens movements that I do often much more difficult and look much worse.

DJI seems to be making the follow controls worse with every generation and I’m not sure why. The rs2 was also actually worse than the ronin-s since they removed sensitivity follow controls that allowed much more precise control and more speed without changing settings so the rs2.

However it was manageable and the rs2 added so many features that I kept the rs2 anyway despite worse follow controls, but the rs3 pro hardly adds any features and it has significantly worse follow controls so it’s not worth the upgrade until they hopefully fix these issues in firmware.

This is a great camera, but it looks like Canon just listened to YouTube noise makers and not to the silent world by discontinuing DSLR cameras. The reasons and EVF is dark first and lights up, not necessarily to the correct brightness.

The LCD screen goes blank at times. In the single point focus mode, the focus point is not small enough, therefore it often gets confused. In the eye focus mode, it misses eyes a number of times. The spot metering circle is too large, probably like partial area metering boxes rather than spot metering.

Not sure by transforming to a mirrorless world, we have to compromise so many things. I am not particularly crazy about burst rate, since I don’t shoot sports, but, so much automation is generally for photography challenged people, rather than experienced photographers.

No offense meant to anyone. Other issues are if you leave the camera on, the sensor is constantly exposed and perhaps bad for life of sensor and it could destroy a few pixels. I am sure Canon’s sensors are of high quality, and this is probably one of the advanced sensors, but the sensors if accidently exposed to constant bright light, could destroy.

These is a warning about this in the manual. Therefore, I prefer DSLRs. I could list a number of things, but I was hoping for 5D Mark V and it certainly does not seem to be coming. Therefore my suggestion to Canon is to take a survey from its existing customers on what kind of products they would like, rather than listen to YouTubers.

Fantastic upgrade from my 6D MKii, I’ve been looking and comparing Sony and EOSR5/6 Rp etc. I watched probably every video on YouTube, picked up almost all of these cameras and this one sat just right.

This camera may not have every latest feature but what it does have are the ingredients inside to take some amazing shots. It feels nice, it’s not bulky like older DSLRs, it doesn’t feel plastic, it’s fantastic.

Great dynamic range, this is a pro level camera and capable of achieving a lot of different tasks depending on your skills and lens choice. I love the look and feel of these new lenses, even the STM versions.

They all feel so much better than the older EF, EFs lens and older L series. The mount it self just looks far more superior and contoured just the right way that ads an amazing edge to older canons. When I was looking at the RP I noticed that it didn’t have screen on top and It bothered me that it was not there so I much prefer having it.

All of my batteries from my 6DMKii fit as well so that’s a win. Over all this was a fantastic upgrade for what I had and I would highly recommend this to any level that wants a good pro level mirrorless camera shooting experience.

I do alot of exploring through urban landscapes and a tripod is a must. For years I’ve carried around a Manfrotto Tripod that was about 2. 5′ tall when collapsed, heavy, and generally a pain. Don’t get me wrong – I love the tripod, it was just wrong for the application.

Enter the Befree Advanced. This little guy collapses down to a very manageable size that fits well in the side pocket on my backup I use for exploring. It’s lightweight which is a welcome change from my bigger tripod as it’s usually carried around on my back.

It’s well constructed and generally sturdy. Only one star removed for the lack of a hook on the bottom of the center. As it’s so light you will not be able to use it for a longer exposure in a windy situation as there’s no way to attach a counter weight.

Otherwise, an excellent investment for supporting my camera when needed.

Don’t get caught up in the negs of the reviews or the specs. This is a great little tripod. Feels very stout for something this sized when folded down. It fits in my backpack, one less checked luggage piece! For a camcorder this baby is magic.

The camcorder (Canon XA40) even at full focal zoom it looked great because of the IS. To test the capability, I put a 600mm and a 5D with the big battery grip on it (12 pounds), for stills works great, but I probably wouldn’t try a pan shot at full tele, but under 200mm focal there is enough fluid drag in the head to make it work.

The 24-105 was just fine. I was fortunate to grab a used one because I wasn’t sure I’d like it and I figured out why it must have gotten returned, a loose screw on the tilt handle clamp. 30 seconds to fix, Yeah, nobody will confuse this with a Schlacter studio rig, but you have no excuse for getting one, great addition to my arsenal.

I purchased this after chatting with a B&H sales professional for an upcoming trip. Wanted to go for a relatively smaller and lighter but still sturdy tripod. Based on that criteria it did the job. It is easy to pack and not a burden to carry while walking.

That said, if you are serious about photography, this tripod should not be your reference item as it is not sturdy enough to withhold strong wind or other extreme environmental conditions. This doesn’t make it a bad tripod, just a good travel one.

I knocked off one star as I wasn’t a big fan off the twist locks and there are some other compromises to make it smaller and lighter. It is a product I can recommend.
