This fish sauce is clear and has nice golden tone under light. It has a mile and savory anchovy odor, but not offensive. The taste is strong, a clean umami flavor like naturally formed MSG with a tad of sweetness.

Love that there’s flying fish sauce at Walmart! This is one of the key ingredients used by a lot of Asian recipes. It’s perfectly package which I totally appreciate!

The Squid Fish sauce is definitely the BEST fish sauce on the market and I refuse to buy any other fish sauce. It got an amazing taste and makes everything 10x more delicious. I cook a lot of Asian dishes so this is definitely a must have in my kitchen.

At my household, we always have two kind of fish sauce, Squid and 3 Crab. I personally enjoy 3 Crab more because it is the flavor that I grew up with. But Squid is also pretty good. To me, I feel like 3 Crab has more depth in it’s flavors while Squid is a little more on the lighter side.

As a current university student, I tend to buy Squid brand more often as it is often cheaper and the bottle is lighter to carry with me with I am taking the public transit.

I had a salted caramel recipe that called for fish sauce. I was intrigued and frightened it would be awful. Then I found the whiskey barrel aged fish sauce without the bite of too much salt. The mellow sauce was just the thing for a rave worthy caramel topping for rice and chicken.

I have tried several Fish sauces and this one is special. The flavor is so complex, not very salty but has that umami quality. Use it sparingly, a few drops will enhanced your dish. It’s definitely a keeper for me.

Love the complexity of the flavor and texture of it when added to sacues and just to rice. A little goes a LONG WAY so don’t over do it, but the addition is very noticeable and enjoyable.

This is the best brand to go for, when choosing any fish sauce. If you are new to using fish sauce, I highly recommend the Three Crabs Brand. This is one of the most expensive fish sauce on any store shelf, but it is of the highest quality.

The smell is not as pungent as other branded fish sauce, it is not overly salty, and it tastes the best. You will always find the Three Crabs Brand in my house.

Well this one brought about and within 30 minutes violent diarrhea for my son who I had cooked it for and he has eaten in 32 different countries including Sichuan China. It was said that likely this was a allergic reaction.

And he has friends in Vietnam that were born and still live there and those fermented items CAN BE RISKY and this was and is the case herein as the manifest weight of the evidence lies with a product that MIGHT HAVE been mishandled.

SO be careful fellow citizens. And I attempted to purchase de Buyer Mineral B Bois Round Fry pan and attempted to withdraw the order quite unsuccessfully and have requested at least twice to convey a return label and that has been unsuccessful and the Kuhn Rikon Julienne was not what I ordered so this place Chris in the cross hairs of quality control, responsibility, and outright honor.

So folks be careful.

I have purchased numerous well known brands of fish sauce. Red Boat is my all time favorite. I am impressed with the minimal but high quality ingredients, consisting of ONLY black anchovies and salt, sourced, fermented, bottled and packaged in Vietnam.

This brand is the cleanest and freshest tasting fish sauce. Despite consisting of only anchovies and salt it tastes surprisingly less “fishy” and less salt-laden than the other fish sauce brands I have used.

I use it in many Asian dishes, Pho, stir-fry dishes, Thai curries and pan-Asian congees, but it works wonderfully in many non-Asian recipes, fish chowders, clam sauces for pasta, Paella and even in homemade Caesar salad dressing, etc.

I keep this always on hand and no other fish sauce equals Red Boat’s quality. It is great to find it available on VitaCost @ competitive prices.

This has to be the best sauce on the planet. Its great with everything. I use it on my eggs, in my noodles and as a base to my during dipping sauce. The bulk deal is amazing but its out of stock right when I need it.

That sucks.

When your Asian and eating any kind of deep fried or boil or BBQ meat or vegi and fruits, Thai chili pepper with this fish sauce is the BEST SPICY DIP. YUMMM. also good in soup broth and any stir-fried and defiantly delicious with dried thai chili pepper to make dip for fruits.

It has a pleasant smell – not fishy at all

Not a connoisseur of fish sauce, but it seems similar to the few others I’ve had except maybe more salty and less umami. Will do the job in kimchi, where most of it is going to be used. __PACKAGING CAUTION: Don’t cut the hinge on the black plastic cap trying to get a knife under the heavy-duty black plastic capsule.

And once you get rid of that, you’re done, the cap doesn’t unscrew and there’s no inner security seal, you just shake out a few drops at a time. Actually handier.

This smells so hideous that I literally attempted to wipe off my food. I can still recall the smell – it smells like three-day-old fish that wasn’t properly refrigerated. If you want to keep your appetite, avoid this.

I’d give it -5 stars if I could.

While I can’t breathe in the direct aroma of this fish sauce, many of my Thai inspired dishes would not taste right without it. It adds an authentic flavor to coconut chicken soup and some curry dishes.

Be careful!! Add a little and add more to taste.

This is the best cocktail I have ever eaten! It has the perfect blend of ingredients that taste great with any seafood. They also have a spicy one that has a good kick to it, but I prefer this one. It’s great with shrimp, clam strips, crab, you name it.

I love shrimp and buy it at least once a week. This is my go to cocktail sauce. It’s a little bit spicy but definitely not overpoweringly spicy. I love it!

It is the only sauce I ever use with seafood. Tasty and always perfect. Just the right amount of seasoning so it enhances fresh fish, shrimp, frozen fish, and crab cakes!

Have been looking for the original Burgess Anchovy Sauce for years. Was thrilled to find this and it is exactly the flavour l was looking for. All the family use this in particular recipe so we are all happy to be able to buy it.

Salmon! I could eat it at every meal. I didn’t care for the taste of any of the other dipping sauces or seasonings for Salmon till I came across “Johnny’s Salmon finishing sauce” it is the absolute best sauce! The only downfall is once I found it at my local grocery store they stopped carrying it.

I searched everywhere and could not find it any where. finally I found it again in Cincinnati only after a few months they stopped carrying it too. Talk about being disappointed I was heartbroken. My husband known how much I love Johnny’s he searched again and found it on Walmart’s website, I pray they actually have it on their shelf, if so I’m buying a case to heck with getting one bottle.

You gotta try this sauce u won’t regret it.

I couldn’t find locally anymore so purchased this 6 pack. This stuff is the best on any fish. Can use in place of tartar sauce too! Share a bottle with a friend or friends if you can’t use all. Stored in fridge unopened will add a year to the best by date.

Put on top of fish with panko bread crumbs before grilling or baking. yumm!.

I bought this sauce online because I found it at a locale store. The store quit carrying It. After checking five different locale stores And none of then carrying the sauce I gave up. I found it at walmarts website, man was I happy.

Not only was it less money. I order it and a few days later went to pick it up. No waiting in line just in and out.

The sauce is fundimentally good. While there is a very tart lemon flavor, that can easily be corrected by adding a little sugar to offset the tartness, what can’t be corrected is that no matter what you do, it is a very bitter taste to it.

There is a big difference between tart and bitter, and this sauce ruins the taste of anything you may serve it with. Absolutely horrible. For those that will still like to try it, I would suggest only buying only one bottle.

You can then judge for yourself if you’d like to use it again. For me, one bottle was more than enough to tell me that I will never buy it again.

This is NOTHING like tarter sauce…. it is way too sweet, even to put on cooking fish or seafood. Ruined the taste of the salmon!! No butter taste, just weird, sweet lemon. Back to regular tarter sauce, adding my own lemon and dill.

I think this seafood sauce is terrible. Ruins the taste of nice fish or seafood. I cannot eat it. Unusual for a McCormick product tp taste so terrible. The color of the sauce varies greatly between different bottles.

Suspicious quality control. Unfortunately, I bought a lot of it since I really like another brand of lemon dill sauce that I could not find online. Throwing it away.

Has a stench, and I don’t know if its supposed to smell that way. Maybe it smells that way because of its marine origin. Still have to test it in a dish, though.
