20 Best Vinyl Tile Cutter (2022 Updated)

Similar experience to the previous reviewer. I purchased this saw to cut large format 10mm thick glazed porcelain tiles and ran into several issues with the shoe. 1. It scratched the surface of the tile due to rough edges and splatter on the finished surface.

I fixed these with a file and sandpaper, but this caused damage to the factory plating and the tool will likely corrode at these areas. 2. At 0-degrees the blade was far from square to the shoe. This was a straight-forward process to fix with the onboard adjustment screws.

3. Front to back, the blade was not parallel with the shoe. This took more finicking around to adjust and I ended up having to bend the factory shoe mounting bracket to make the shoe and blade parallel.

Even with this fix, when adjusting cut depth I have to be very careful to ensure the shoe stays parallel as there is flex and play in the entire apparatus. The saw is plenty powerful, and when new, the blade cut very smooth and straight with minimal chipping.

It quickly dulled and when this occurs the saw has the tendancy to push up out of the cut. Requires frequent sharpening and on long rip cuts seems to dull part way through, needing a lot of force and effort to maintain and complete the cut.

Unsure if the dulling is due to the thickness and hardness of the porcelain or inadequate water delivery to the blade. With a few fixes this could be a great product, but I can’t recomment it in it’s current form.

Bought this to cut some larger format glazed porcelain tile that wont fit any rental saws i could get locally. The supplied blade cuts beautifully with almost no chipping and the water feed is surprisingly good with the supplied pressure regulator.

However, the shoe is poor. It marred the tile as there is a sharp stamping edge so I had to take a file to it to give it a radius and the shoe does not run parallel to the blade at all cut depths no matter what I do to adjust.

Takes more concentration that it should to keep it running straight against my rail guide than any other circular I’ve used. Always stressful on a $100+ piece of tile! May return due to the shoe weakness.

Great powerful, compact saw. Cuts granite amazing well. Quality tool. You can buy a 4 5/8 wood blade as well for cutting thinner materials. My only complaint is that there is very little clearance between the motor housing and the work surface so it’s difficult to find a straight edge to fit between the product you are cutting and the motor housing.

The shoe that the saw slides on could be a little heavier built. Exerting force could bend it.

Excellent cutter once you get used to the motion to engage the magnet. Have been using it for an NVQ assessment with diamond and mitre cuts and received a distinction for the quality of the cuts.

Does a good job of cutting 10mm very hard porcelain tiles (into strips for skirting). I bought the Rubi Extreme 22mm scoring wheel and that makes the cut edge even neater and the job easier and quicker so I think it was worth the extra cost.

Awesome product, works so much better than a wet saw for ceramic wall tile and so much more efficient.

Cuts smooth and fast ,perfect for larger tiles

I am blown away by the Craftsman V 20 Lithium Ion 7″ Compact Wet Tile Saw. It comes with an innovative sliding cart, easy to read waterfill-lines inside tub, and 17″ ripping capacity. The V 20 Lithium Ion battery charges quickly and keeps the charge for a long time.

I loved not having to stop every 30 minutes to charge the battery backup. The batteries long life and it’s totally cordless. What’s not to love. With it being cordless allows you so much more moveability when doing projects.

I also love that it is compact,has a sliding cart that allows a lot smoother cut and you don’t have to try to carefully move the tile because the sliding cart makes it glide. I also loved the waterfill-lines inside tub because it makes you able to see how much water is in it and contains it so you have so much less mess and you are able to make so much better cuts, and you don’t have to worry about your saw overheating and wasting so many pieces of tile because they either broke when you where trying to cut with your old saw or cut wrong because of your old saw.

I definitely recommend this product to everyone. I love that you don’t have to be a licensed contractor to do your projects with this saw anyone can now do them there self. Craftsman has done it yet again.

This is an incredible saw that is so convenient and so easy to use. I have been telling everyone about it. I give this saw thumbs up for sure.

The Craftsman cordless 7 in compact wet saw did not disappoint!! First let me say that we love Craftsman tools. They have always meant quality. This saw worked even better then I expected. It was so easy to use and the cuts on the tiles were perfect.

It cut like it was going thru butter. I like that the water line was easy to read and was not messy since we were doing it inside. The battery lasted a very long time and recharged very quickly. It was small enough to use right in the bathroom without running outside to cut the tiles but powerful enough to do the job.

Also being cordless was so awesome. No tripping over cords and extensions. This made doing the tile in the bathroom so easy, I am now looking at a new project for hubby to do. Very awesome product!!.

I have used this product twice in the last month. And all I can say is wow. I love how its wireless and can last up to 30 uses before the battery died. No more cords to get tangle. This wet saw is also very well made and durable.

It’s very easy to use I’m a female and I used it with ease. The instructions was clear and I put it together within a couple of minutes. I did charge the battery for a couple of hours before I used it to ensure I was getting the full benefits out of the battery.

To clean it all I needed was a wet rag. This is my favorite new to go to gadget.

Simple tool, makes simple cuts – did exactly what I needed to do! I would recommend getting a grinding stone too. (I got the nipples and everything that was recommended, but a grinding stone didn’t come up as recommended – I wish it had).

Worked prefect for my shower remodel! I watched a short you tube video as I have never cut tile before. I cut about 40 pieces with no problem.

I didn’t have a lot of hope this would work for the price it was listed for. I would expect a 48 inch tile cutter to cost anywhere between $400 and $500. Pictures attached I needed two pieces three and a half inches wide on this tile.

Set it up Mark the tile slid the cutter across it once. Knowing it’s a large tile I did it a second time. Just to be safe I slid it through a third time. A third of the way through the third pass the tile split in half on its own clean perfect cut.

So I repeated the process only this time the break was going to be an inch wide. I did the same exact process again and it cut perfectly again. The only thing I found wrong with this cutter are the nuts even though they’re locking nuts come loose I’m assuming during transport I had a couple laying loose underneath the unit when I picked it up today.

That’s why you got to four star rating. The other issue that I have with this is the brake foot does not lift up it slides with the cutter. My 36-in Rubi, I have a handle that disengages the brake foot so you can cut the tile then you drop the brake foot down and use it as it was intended.

Once you get used to the brake foot always being on the tile it may not become an issue but you will have to flip it out of the way when you start to cut the tile or you’ll find yourself pressing down on that foot more often than not.

I will go buy some loctite and put these locking nuts back on later. If you’re looking for a solid cutter give this one a try. I like the fact that the bar doesn’t flex when you press the handle that was a huge difference from some of the others that I’ve tried the tile in this picture is a 5/16 porcelain 8×48.

Despite the budget price tag, this cutter exceeds expectations. Both the cutter and the stand are durable and solidly built. The cutter is very accurate and can handle some fine detail, especially when equipped with a 60-degree blade.

I’ve used it to create signs and decals, and I’m impressed with the speed and accuracy of this machine. The stepper motor is a bit noisier than the servo motors in higher-priced gear; comparable to a dot matrix printer (for those old enough to remember those).

If you have a dedicated workspace, you can run this machine all day behind closed doors without disrupting your office or household. The VinylMaster Cut software is fairly simple and intuitive. Some of the controls behave a little differently than those in popular design programs, but most people will not be designing in VinylMaster anyway.

As a rip software, it functions perfectly well. I do recommend watching US Cutter’s instructional videos to learn quickly how to access some of VinylMaster’s more important functions. One small criticism about the design: the power cord and the USB cable are on opposite sides of the machine.

So if you work in a small space as I do, you may find yourself “trapped” between two cables. It’s a minor inconvenience, nothing an extension cord can’t solve. All in all, the SC2 is an excellent value for the money, and a great option for the small business owner or serious hobbyist.

I love this cutter! started a vinyl business exactly 1 year ago with this cutter. this thing is a workhorse. i had no clue what i was doing, i learned it all along the way. the only issue i had with it was the cutting strip had to be replaced due to it getting real cut up, but honestly it was my own fault while i was learning adjusting pressures, the roll would off track or spit out of the machine.

agian my problem not the machines, but the new strip was cheap and super easy to install. the vinyl master software it pretty user friendly for the most part. plenty of support and tutorials that come along with it to learn off of.

and it popularity brings lots of you tube instruction as well. only gripe with the software is it can act ‘buggy’ at times especially while vectorizing. ive cut almost everything with this SC2. 651 is my go to but also, HTV, flat, chrome/gold, perforated vinyl, etched glass vinyl, tint.

and one of my big sellers, Reflective! YES, REFLECTIVE!! even though they say it doesnt cut reflective, pfffft!! IT DOES! AND IT DOES IT WELL with a 60 degree blade. ive even got it to cut rolled magnet material, well scored it heavily where i cas able to bend it back and forth to break it free from the roll.

all and all, 1 year, 1200 cuts later and this thing just wont quit! my business has grown faster than i ever imagined with this machine to the point i think i need to upgrade to a printer/cutter. but this SC2 will always be my tried and true reliable workhorse!!.

The positives about this machine are few. The price was right and it cuts by 20″ material. That’s about it. I decided to upgrade from a Silhouette after getting sick of cutting down my 20″ HTV into 12″ x 20″ sheets.

Having a machine that accommodates a 20″ roll has definitely saved me time, but I’m starting to wonder if the headaches are worth it. The amount of mis-cuts this machines causes + the amount of material it trashes because of said mis-cuts is infuriating.

It will cut random lines, random patterns, half cut a graphic then cut a random shape over it, etc. I never try to cut more than 24″ in length due to reading about other’s issues with the motherboard and memory.

I also never cut jobs that are too intricate. I have tried connecting with both the USB and the Serial Cable. The only thing I can think of is that the machine isn’t actually MAC compatible as I was told it was (I talked with customer support before purchasing).

Someone will probably respond back to this saying it’s user error. I can ensure you it’s not (I work in the sign industry as a production designer, and regularly produce graphics using industry standard machines – Mimaki, Graphtec, HP, Colex, Epson etc).

I would have loved to get a reliable machine, like a Graphtec or Mimaki, but unfortunately, my small, home-based side business doesn’t generate enough revenue to support that large of a purchase. Let’s just say.

you definitely get what you pay for.

Brilliant saw, stand, trays; it’s a typical Dewalt tool. No complaints. As suggested in other reviews, best to place the pump in a clean bucket of water instead of drawing / recycling the dirty water in the tray.

Means you drain the tray into the bucket, dispose of that water and refill the bucket but certainly should extend the life of the pump. Blade is very good and adjustments for angles simple. Plunge cutting is also simple and effective.

May not use this tool a lot but for ay tile project it makes the work easy and precise for and much higher quality finished job and a whole bunch of sanity while measuring, cutting and laying up the tiles.

Might loan it out to trusted friends who supply their own blades.

I sure hope that I just bought the lemon but don’t have the time to send the darn thing back and thus go thru the unnecessary aggravation of that process. I really need a good tile saw to replace my old one.

I have spent hours working on the tray and rails trying to make it slide with out jumping. I haven’t even tried to use it because it is so sloppy at the moment. Disappointed ? Your damn straight. almost a grand for a saw that I have to spend hours trying to fix before I even use.

I hope that I have fixed it, because I’m starting a major job next week and need it. I know others love this saw, so that is the reason I’m extremely disappointed that I have personally had to work on a brand new (expensive) saw.

All of these other reviewers have apparently used this ($1500) wet saw for a single project, which seems extraordinarily sus for some weird reason, because literally nobody pays that much for a tool they’re only using for one job rather than paying for a cheap temporary version.

🙄 Even if that was “normal,” literally every tool is going to be pretty great right out of the box, barring some strange extenuating circumstances. That being said, I actually installed tile professionally for a handful of years, and the Dewalt saws have always been a personal favorite.

Dewalt tools seem to last forever, and these wet saws are no exception. They’re easy enough to assemble, and technically portable (although pretty heavy for most people to lug around. ) You can easily reset and adjust various different settings to cut mitered edges and do all kinds of other neat stuff.

I would never recommend spending over $1000 on a tool for someone to do a single job or project, but I ABSOLUTELY recommend this product to anyone who needs a tile saw for longer-term use!.

TranslateShow in original languageHiervoor een speed62 gehad maar wat een verademing deze TZ1020. Het is gewoon leuk om er mee te werken. Breken van tegels gaat tot nu toe subliem door eigenlijk alleen maar hendel los te laten.

Mooi dat hij wielen heeft en goede steun zijwaarts voor de grotere maten tegels. Enig min puntje vind ik zelf het gewicht. Je kan niet altijd de wielen gebruiken en dan is het een heel gesjouw. Buiten transport om is het een TOP snijder.

Wrażenie największe robi jakość wykonania, stabilność, precyzja, ergonomia. Z pewnością przeskok ze zwykłej taniej maszynki (tez Rubi) ma duży wpływ na nadmierny pozytywny odbiór nowej, ale nie ma się co dziwić.

To jak przesiadka z dużego Fiata do nowego Mercedesa 🙂 Mozna by chwalić i wypisywać komplementy, ale nie ma potrzeby bo ten sprzęt broni się sam. Tak naprawdę to żałuję że tak długo zwlekałem z zakupem.
