A vise is an important tool for gunsmithing, as it is used to hold the firearm in place while work is being done on it. This can include anything from cleaning and maintenance, to repairs and modifications.
There are a variety of different types of vises available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing to consider when choosing a vise is what type of work you will be doing with it, as this will dictate the size, shape, and features that you need.

Serious shooters know keeping their guns clean is essential to performance” making the Compact Range Vise the perfect range accessory.
This range rifle vise is so simple and convenient to use. I’ve used others that are way over engineered. This one has just what you need to rest your rifle while you work on it. Nice rubber bumpers and rifle v-grips wont let anything slip.
Folds nice and compact for the range. Installed scopes on two rifles with this and it worked perfectly. Slides open for longer rifles or that “just right” fit.
Sturdy, light and easy to throw in range bag. Not a high end vise, but knew that when I bought it. Was looking for inexpensive rest to work on rifles and could not have found a better option. Definitely recommend.
I bought this “range vise” because I wanted something I could use to clean my guns at the end of the day when I’m camping at 2 or 3 day Cowboy Action Shooting Events. I like the way it folds up for packing along.
It works good for the Sharps, and the shotgun, but it won’t hold a lever action rifle with the lever open. You have to get creative and put it in the cradle sideways. It likes the fatter stocks of non-cowboy guns, like modern bolt actions, vintage military rifles, and it holds an AR-15 pretty good.
It has rubber feet that keep it from sliding across my smooth work table when I’m using it at home. Overall I’m happy with it and would buy another one if I had to.
The f-series vise is constructed of 75,000 psi tensile strength forged steel. This sleek, rugged vise out performs their bulky cast-iron competition. It features a patented parallel jaw alignment system.
This exclusive feature gives the f-series precise clamping action, as well as longer service life.
This German-made vise should be better than the nearly identical Taiwan-made vise I returned. And I paid a substantially higher price for this one. The vise sits unevenly on its base because a chamfered surface that is supposed to be machined and smooth is actually rough and uneven due to being mistakenly powder coated (see photo).
The result is very rough and sometimes impossible operation of the rotating base. Also, the clamps on either side of the rotating base click and pop, because the vise rocks on the base instead of being stable, and the clamps can’t find a consistently stable position to lock in place.
The only reason I did not return this vise is because I figured out how to grind the powder coat off the chamfered surface. Powder coat dust is now all over my workbench (see video). Swivel operation is now so-so, but definitely not what I’d expect from a German tool at this price.
My old cheap vice from 20 years ago died and replaced with F-45 vice. I am glad I did and glad I didn’t. The vice held up under great stress that vice probably wasn’t designed to do. The problem was that my work bench didn’t and now I need to build another work bench but heavier.
I am thinking I need the 6 inch vice for my next work bench I need to build,.
It is my first vise. I tend to believe that you get what you pay for so I spent way more than I probably should have for as little as I will use a vise. But I wanted to only make the purchase once and not have to worry about it again.
This is a beast of a vise. Very nice and heavy duty. Looks great and works great so far. I do with the tabs coming off the base with the bolt holes to mount the vise were a little thicker. I haven’t had an issuu and don’t think I will.
But they are a little thin considering how beefy everything else is on this vise. Don’t feel it is enough to reduce stars on the review. That will change of course if I have issues with a tab breaking in the future.
Until then, this is a great vise that my kids will probably inherit when I die.

The newest vise in the Wilton line-up delivers the clamping force and quality that all Wilton vises are known for. In addition to a precision-machined slide bar and sealed spindle, the Mechanics Pro also incorporates a needle roller thrust bearing under the spindle hub.
This new feature makes generating and releasing greater clamping force easier than ever. Other standard features include a movable jaw and base built from 60,000 PSI ductile iron, hardened steel jaws, 360-degree swivel base with dual lock-downs, and a large anvil surface on the back.
This3-inch clamp on vise provides you with the ability to take it with you wherever you go. This forged iron vise has a clamping pressure of 1250-pound. The irwin vise gives you excellent pressure in the convenience of a portable vise.
This tool can attach to tables up to 2in thick to work almost anywhere. Designed with an anvil shaping horn. It features sturdy pipe jaws with a 2in capacity for general purpose and light-duty work.
IRWIN Clamp-On Vise, 3″, 226303 I bought it for my wooden ship modeling hobby. With 3″ wide jaws, it’s perfect for holding wood or metal for planing or cutting for my hobby. It also has a small casting in the jaws for holding small pipe or dowels horizontally.
The screw turns easily, especially after adding 3-In-1 oil to the threads. I use a wooden solid-core door for my hobby table top, and it clamps on firmly and easily. no movement at all once you clamp it down.
Appears to be well made. It’s solid cast iron and feels hefty but is light enough to easily move around the table with one hand. Don’t confuse this with the bigger and heavier machine vises, because it’s not that.
But it is absolutely perfect for what I use it for. This is one of my better purchases and would not hesitate at all to buy again. I also bought as an accessory theBENCH WIZARD 3 Inch Magnetic Aluminum Vice Jaws (Jaws Only): VISE-29330.
Being very limited on space and not wanting to permanently mount a vice taking up valuable work bench space i choose this clamp on vice. This vice is small and attaches easily when needed. I have used it numerous times without it ever failing.
I gave it 4 stars only because it lacks teeth or a jaw insert to clamp on non flat objects. The clamping part is flat and round objects tend to be tricky to grip. Overall i am very satisfied with this purchase and would buy it again if needed.
I will recommend this to anyone that wants a vice that’s easy to move. Don’t let it’s size full you.
The Tipton Compact Range Vise is a compact design for a convenient solution to gun cleaning at the range. It securely holds the widest array of guns possible while collapsing to fit in a range bag. Two non-marring forks protect your guns finish while holding them securely in place for cleaning or light maintenance.
The Compact Range Vise is 1/4″ and when expanded it measures 17 3/4″ and collapses to 11″. Six rubber feet provides the vise with a very rigid, non-slip base.
Great for rifle cleaning. the yolks are soft rubber covered and will not let the rifle move when pulling a cleaning cable or using a cleaning rod. Has 6 soft rubber feet on base, so it stays in place.
Folds up and collapses into a small unit and is very easily stored (fits in backpack). Adjusts to hold my AR lower and upper individually for maintenance.
I needed something that I could use in a small space for scope mounting and bore cleaning that could be stored easily. This is perfect. Just fold it up after use and it takes up less space than some books on the shelf.
With a 13cm jaw width, the IRWIN Heavy-Duty Workshop Vise features a captured safety jaw to prevent the slide from falling out during use. At a solid 14kg. , this anvil and pipe jaw incorporated table vise manoeuvres quickly into position with a swivel base.
An aggressive set of steel jaws maintain a secure hold to grip tightly and hold fast for steady work. The IRWIN 226305 13cm Vise is made of forged iron. This IRWIN Vise can hold up to 3000+ pounds of clamping pressure.
Providing top clamping pressures for heavy duty jobs. This vise would make a great edition to your workshop.
The Tipton Gun Vise features a rubberized cradle and jaws that protect and grip your gun. Molded-in compartments keep solvents and small parts organized and within reach. Made of solvent-resistant polymers.
I bought this to hold my rifles for cleaning. Works great, is sturdy and holds the rifle secure. The rubber rest and clamps keep the stock from getting scratched. It has a built in rest for your cleaning rod, several compartment to set solvent, oil or patches in during cleaning.
So assembly is required. It was easy and the instructions are clear. Care has to be taken not to over tighten the screws, as it is all plastic. I would recommend this stand.
I’ve been a gun enthusiast for over 40 years. After inheriting my dad’s guns at age 18 when he passed, I continued to build my collection. I don’t shoot a lot, but I do have NRA’s Sharpshooter patch.
When I do shoot, I like to clean the guns well before storage. I cannot believe I have waited this long to finally get a gun vise to make cleaning SO much easier. before now, I’ve had to prop my gun up with blocks or pillows, or even the bags from my corn hole game! The Tipton Gun Vise locks the gun in place without marring the finish.
It comes with some very minor assembly required. Takes about 5 minutes. I really like the locking cam. It makes it easy to swap rifles when you finish one. Scope mounting is an absolute breeze. I really appreciate the moulded in trays to put screws, patches, solvent, lube, tools, etc.
There is even a little recess to hold your cleaning rod. It is lightweight, but engineered to be very sturdy. This is not a shooting sled. I would not use this product to sight in a high-powered rifle.
That is not its intent. It has non-slip feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on your table or workbench. My only improvement suggestion would be to add an anchoring points for the option of screwing it down as a permanent fixture.
I got a great buy on this item, and would buy it again. It would make a great gift for the plinker or serious shooter.
I want to clean that 6. 5 Creedmoor but you need a hand free for sipping on that whiteclaw well look no further this is the contraption for you. Got that 30-06 dirty from sticking it out the window of your truck this hunting season just sling her into this contraption and you’ll be back out there firing mediocre rounds in no time.
Gun maintenance shouldn’t be a headache. Next time you need to remove and install a new rifle barrel, do so with help from Wheeler Barrel Vise with 3 Oak Bushings. Designed to work with rifle-style weapons to simplify the barrel removing process.
Strong enough to clamp down the toughest barrel, this barrel vise is constructed of heavy-duty carbon steel. The gunsmith tool includes 1 1-inch pre-drilled block, 1 0. 75-inch pre-drilled block, and 1 blank oak block for custom drilling.
This innovative barrel removal tool delivers the strength and holding force required for proper barrel removal. By safely clamping your barrel in place, the Wheeler Secure Barrel Vise Tool holds your barrel in place and prevents slipping while you’re working.
For best results, securely mount this vise to a sturdy bench (not included).
As other have stated, this vise and it’s components are quite large, so much so you may need a larger wrench. The vise base is wide and requires a decent amount of real estate but the pressure generated is impressive.
The wood inserts are suitable for an action that isn’t stuck on, but I found that even with the lead shims sold here, they did not provide enough gripping force to stop difficult actions from rotating the barrel.
I fully recommend close – tolerance aluminum blocks as more force can be used without fear or splintering the wood or spinning the barrel.
Vise worked great. The wooden blocks which are intended to be expendable were a one-time use item. I would recommend getting the aluminum blocks. I also used to vices. One near the chamber and one set at the chase of the barrel.
The two together were required to keep the barrel from spinning. Keep in mind, I’m working on 100+ year old rifles.
I had to exert about 500 ft-lbs to 600 ft-lbs to unscrew a Mauser 98 barrel. But with a little rosin from a Rosin Bag, bought at a sporting goods store(baseball section), the barrel came off nicely. I had to bore the provided unfinished oak blocks, to precisely fit this barrel, and the oak blocks worked well.
Made of tough cast iron, this bench vise has replaceable forged steel jaws to grip and keep your workpiece steady. Equipped with a locking swivel base to help you get the best angle on your work. The large anvil is perfect for shaping and fabrication work.
I’ve wanted a vise for my workbench for a long time, but it wasn’t until I had a pressing need for one that I finally decided to get serious about shopping for one. I needed to straighten some damaged metal tubing and a twisted mounting plate and knew I needed a sizable vise to do it right.
I purchased the Central Forge 6-inch vise for its size and for its large anvil feature. This vise held everything tight while I pried and bent the pieces back into their proper shape. I’m an ordinary suburban homeowner so I only have a need for a vise once in a while, but I wanted a vise that is robust enough to handle the occasional tough job.
This vise delivered the goods. It was the right choice for my needs.
I needed a vise that was light enough to be removable when needed but with sufficient opening and throat depth to be useable in most situations. This 5 inch works out great for that. I mounted it on a couple of shot 2×4’s and a piece of plywood.
I cut openings in the side of mt work bench (2×6) to receive the 2×4’s and hold the whole assembly to the bench. This works out great and is light enough to easily slide in and out of the bench. I gave it 4 stars because the jaws don’t close square to each other.
I had to insert a 1/16th washer behind one of the jaw inserts. Other than that, so far I am happy with it. Time will tell how much abuse it can take.
This is a good 5″ vise for casual use at home or in a shop where it’ll be used every once in a while and you don’t need a heavier or larger one with more features. One thing you must take into consideration is that although the vise has 3 holes for mounting it on a bench corner and if you’re using a wood bench, you have to have enough meat on the frame of the bench to attach it properly/securely.
If you do that, then the stationary jaw plane does not protrude over the edge of the bench plane, not by much, maybe a quarter of an inch. That then negates the possibility of using the vise for a long piece in a vertical fashion beyond the face of the bench.
Unless, of course, you rotate the vise to the corner, then you can. I doubt that it would work on a steel bench as well. So it’s just an extra step to make such a scenario work against a vise that has a stationary jaw that extends beyond the face plane of the bench, which for some reason are a lot more money.
The main screw is of good size and smooth in its operation. The jaws match and hold wood or steel firmly. Under heavy use, I would suspect there would be some wear but for the price, and level of my use, this vise will last for decades under nominal use.
Tipton Ultra Gun Vise allows you to use the same vise for rifles and handguns. The vise has a modular chassis design that allows you to move the center assemblies around to meet your needs, and over molded rubber contact pads throughout the device prevent damage to firearm.
The Modular system allows you to clamp components like AR Upper assemblies without needing to have them attached to the lowers. AR Vise Block module is included for working on and cleaning AR-15. Different modules can be quickly moved, rearranged or removed anywhere along the rail.
Dual Clamp Technology rigidly holds any gun shape in place; slide the clamps closer together for short framed rifle or handgun work. Extra wide, up to 26. 5″ of clamping distance. Works with pistols allowing you to mount optics or clean efficiently; it works with break action firearms.
You can clamp the forward/barrel while leaving the rear to swing open. Engineered Glass Filled Nylon construction provides a high level of rigidity while preventing damage to your firearm. Stainless Steel reinforcing plates throughout the design provide reinforcement and rigidity.
Solvent-resistant materials stand up to years of hard use. Ball and socket articulating clamp pads allow for the pads to adapt to any surface, leveling feet on all corners makes scope leveling easier.
Tube frame structure allows for complete access to your rifle and fast turn knobs, for quick clamping. Front and Rear clamps are both height and length adjustable. Includes two removable solvent resistant accessory and tool trays.
I wasn’t necessarily looking to buy a vise but happened to see it on the shelf and decided to buy it. I’m so glad I did! No more laying a towel down on my work bench to work on my long guns or pistols.
This product is also as an excellent rod and reel vise. I used it on my tuna gear and was very happy I was able to use the mutiple adjustmens needed to fit the gear properly. It is very well made and as advertised, works on all types of firearms, bows, and like I said, rods and reels! Here’s the story I like the best! AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had a very minor issue with one of the clamps.
The screw down on one of the vises wasn’t working properly. I got on the phone and actually talked to a live person right away. The gentleman I spoke to was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. I explained to him about the minor problem and took the time to listen.
At the time of the call he didn’t have the replacement part available and would ship me a new one when it came in. As many of us know, we’ve heard this answer many times from other companies and never heard back from them again.
To my surprise, 4 days later, I received a brand new part with an apology from Tipton. UNBELIEVABLE! Anyway, I’m so incredibly happy I have this vise and even more, having a company who really do stand behind their product.
Tipton deserves an A+ for making such an incredible product and customer support! You just don’t see that anymore. If you’re looking for a vise, look no further, this one is a winner, you wont be disappointed.
Despite the shipping error no fault of SG I am very satisfied with my purchase. I shopped around for awhile before finally settling on this one. I’m a fairly big gun enthusiast and have plenty experience with crappy vises.
I see low reviews cause people are trying to use this vise to install barrels, this is definitely not designed for that function, that what a bench mounted vise is for. My only qualm is that upon opening the shipping box the ends of the actual vise box were open and had never been sealed.
Luckily none of the parts had fallen out and everything was there. I’ve used this vise with my ARs, compound bow, shotguns and pistols with not one issue. There are a few YouTube videos out there to address the issue of the towers not staying up.
I made those adjustments and this thing is ROCK SOLID.
Bought this a couple months ago. Looked sturdy and well made until I used the clamping device. Not a fan of most things plastic but the fast acting clamp screws are an inexperienced engineer’s pipe dream.
Having a background in the heavy automotive repair trade I can tell you the only time you don’t require some sort of locking device on threaded fasteners is when they are fine pitch. Place a rifle in this fixture to mount a scope and it becomes extremely tedious.
Clamps constantly come loose due to the fast thread pitch. Thoroughly disappointed in this fixture. Have a gun butler that works fantastically. That’s the reason I ordered this clamp. Never recommend this to anyone, especially considering the price.
The only thing ultimate about this fixture is the steel frame upon which all the plastic junk is mounted.
Secure your rifle or shotgun for just about any work you want to perform on it. The Tipton Gun Vise is an ideal “third hand” for cleaning and gunsmithing. It features a rubberized cradle and jaws to protect and grip your gun, a quick release cam action for easy access, molded-in compartments for solvents and small parts, and is made of tough, solvent-resistant polymers.
Excellent item for the price. It offers most of the features I need to do basic tune-ups and simple cleaning in the field. It would be better if the some of the fasteners were of a heavier/sturdier build.
The wobbly sensation of the plastic construction is a bit unnerving when working on issues that require a little force to complete. Overall, a good value for what is was intended to do: lightweight field work.
I would recommend this gun vise. It is easy to assemble and provides a solid base for working on several types of long guns. I am disabled (no right shoulder) and have used it for several tasks that I would not have accomplished without it.
It is light weight, very functional, stores assembled upright, and well priced by Midsouth I received it in less than 7 days.
Don’t want to damage the barrel surface while gunsmithing? This product is right for you. Featuring a heavy duty design and cowhide inserts, this professional grade barrel vise from Mechforce is capable of torque or un-torque barrels and muzzle devices without damaging the surface of the barrel.
Bought this for a stock barreled action. The action was so stubborn, even with cheater bar, the barrel would spin with the leather inserts. Well to my surprise, the leather scorched and ripped because of that.
Then I tried it without the leather, worked perfectly, but marred the barrel a bit. I’m sure this would of been great on a barreled action that didn’t come from factory with all sorts of gunk and locktite in the threading.
But disappointed, because paid more then a 21ST century or viper barrel vise that would of been the same thing if I wanted a metal to metal contact area. Made high quality.
This worked perfectly for me! Really saved the day when I needed it! I had an issue where the barrel extension came loose from the barrel that was still in the upper when trying to remove a flash hider during an AR upgrade.
I clamped the barrel vise to my bench using standard F clamps and took the entire upper and threw it into this vise. I was able to remove the flash hider and gas block allowing me to get the barrel nut and barrel off of the upper.
Once that was done I was able to re-secure the barrel extension to the barrel and rebuild the upper. Couldn’t have done all of that without this handy tool.
360 deg swivel base vise includes 2 lock downs to secure work position when utilizing swivel. Pipe jaw assists in bending, cutting and holding materials. Anvil attached for pounding. Made with cast iron channel for strength and durability.
The MTM Gun Vise features a fast, single adjustment clamp down and a secure non-marring hold. The gun forks are positioned high and low giving the option of a level clamp up for maintenance or a sloped clamp up for drainage.
Shotgun barrels are held securely for easy cleaning. Organize your cleaning supplies with the 14 separate compartments, including a small divided tray that slides to uncover more compartments in the base for smaller, easy to lose items.
Eleven screw driver bit holders, molded to the unit, are as easily suited for jags and brushes as they are bits. Made of rugged, chemical and solvent resistant polypropylene plastic.
Decent value for the money. The only ‘issue’ isn’t with the product, but is with my AR’s stock. It needs to have a towel wrapped around it to hold firm enough in the clamp to allow it to be stabilized with the upper separated from the lower securely.
Decent product for general servicing and cleaning. However, you will need to use some cardboard or similar materials in order to shim your rifle butt if you are trying to level your scope, as not all butt profiles will fit perfectly/level in the generically shaped vise jaws whilst clamped.
I’m very happy with this. It holds securely and can clamp with the barrel level or tilted slightly down. Should work well for cleaning and light gun work. Directions for assembly aren’t the clearest, but they’re adequate.
Go easy on the screws, they don’t need to be ultra tight.
The all-purpose heavy duty TEKTON 8 in. Whether you are repairing vehicles, metalworking, or assembling parts, you can work better, faster, and safer knowing your workpiece is properly secured. Just lock it in and thread, fasten, build, bend, shape, or sharpen with confidence.
The vise is made from 60,000 PSI malleable steel, so durability and dependability are built in. The replaceable nonslip steel jaws deliver up to 8,800 lb. of clamping pressure so your project won’t budge.
For forming and shaping metal pieces, the polished anvil offers a smooth, consistent work surface. Built-in serrated pipe jaws hold pipes up to 1-1/2 in. diameter without damaging them. Rotate the vise around its 360-degree swivel base and you can position your work in just the right spot.
Once there, dual lock-down nuts keep it in place. Turn the sliding T-bar handle and the jaw glides smoothly along the Acme-threaded main screw without binding or chattering, even as clamping pressure increases.
Great little vise for handling small to midsize items that will require vise, or second pair of hands. Works really well, great quality at a fair price.
I JUST MOUNTED IT ON MY BENCH. IT WEIGHS 40 POUNDS. IT’S SMOOTH AND THE SWIVEL CLAMPS HOLD WELL. I HAVEN’T GOT TO USE IT ON ANYTHING LIKE U-JOINTS YET BUT I DON’T THINK I WILL HAVE A PROBLEM.
Replaceable top jaws and built-in pipe jaws. 360° swivel base with double lockdown for quick and easy positioning. Designed for general duty applications. Built-in pipe jaws handle various pipe sizes.
The Hyskore Portable Armorers Vise is the perfect gun servicing fixture at your work bench or take it to the range. The bench clamp fits from 3/8 to 2-3/8. The vise rotates 360 degrees around a central axis and has an integral clutch that allows it to lock up at any angle.
Guns can be held in any position for cleaning, scope mounting or maintenance. This means you can clean with the muzzle angled down so that chemicals and debris run out the muzzle and not into the action or trigger group.
If you have an AR-15, remove the rear take down pin and grip the forend in the vise and the gun will be securely held while allowing full access to both receivers.
Great value for entry level gunsmithing vise, easy mount and dismount helps when working in limited space. Keeps whatever you’re working on secure and accessible.
The design of the vise is great but the plastic wheel handle is def a lil cheap. The foam blocks are not so great that come with the vise. My box was pretty much destroyed and it looked like the vise had been used.
One of my barrel foam blocks was completely missing from the box also. Better options for vise blocks are available.
This vice is a must have for your work bench if you do repairs or just cleaning. it’s a space saver easy to handle and solid construction makes this vice a great tool to have.
BATTENFELDSupports AR-15 for cleaning and light gunsmithing operations. Designed for use with Tipton Best Gun Vise TM mounts to center rail with included fasteners. Also designed to mount to your bench top with the included fasteners.
Innovative bolt service station locks bolt in for servicing extractor pin. Locks into place using magazine lock on your receiver. Built-in hammer stop prevents damage to lower receiver. Center section rotates 180 degrees (in 7 degree increments) and locks into place at desired location.
Solvent-resistant polymer provides durability and is non-marring to surfaces. Mag well arm is removable for clamping in a bench vise when additional rigidity is required.
I recently purchased this to work on my LR 308, I used it for cleaning and light maintenance. It works fully as designed and intended. As long as people use common sense and don’t try to put their body weight into twisting a castle nut or barrel nut it will be a great addition to your tools.
But keep mind, it’s not really fair to write a review on a product that broke because of misuse and then blame the company. These folks make quality products and I’ll stand by them in the future.
I have written some very critical reviews of Wheeler tools, so it is only fair that I write a few great reviews too. Although I have the Best Gun Vise I rarely use it on it. Works great though with that vise.
In use I generally have it mounted to a small piece of plywood that also fits in my AR tool bag. I sourced a second knob set locally so the set of bolts/knobs that go with the Best Gun Vise don’t get misplaced.
What I use it for all the time is disassembling/reassembling AR15 bolts, and for that application it really shines. Many of the “professional,” like in big dollar, tools are far less efficient/user friendly for that task.
For me anyway. I have the big dollar tools, but haven’t used them lately. This thing says the warranty is void when used professionally, but used per instructions I can’t see it not lasting almost a lifetime used professionally.
Unless, at some point the ramp wears down from the ejector being cammed back. A dab of grease has prevented any of that action on mine though. I would suggest that you not clamp it in a large machinist’s vise as they say you can do, but to do so in my estimation only invites too much force being placed on it.
Use a solid block for any torquing of buffer tubes or staking the castle nut. They are cheap, or can even be made on a table saw in ten minutes from a piece of hardwood scrap.
a great help in maintenance of your ar15/ar10, features an ejector removal tool that prevent losing the ejector and spring during disassembly of bolt, also a hammer stop while testing the functioning of the FCG thus preventing premature breakage of retaining pin.
Well made from a well kown company in the shooting industry. Need to be secured on the bench.
A vise is an important tool for any gunsmith. It is used to securely hold a firearm while it is being worked on. There are many different types of vises available, but the most common type is the bench vise.
This type of vise is bolted to a workbench and has jaws that open and close to grip the firearm.
The jaws of the vise can be lined with soft materials such as leather or cloth to protect the finish of the firearm. When choosing a vise, it is important to select one that is heavy duty and has a large opening.
This will allow you to work on larger firearms such as rifles.
