20 Best Visor For Running (2022 Updated)

I got this as a present for my dad, and if you are worried your head might be too big, it may be. His head is quite big and got headaches from how tight the elastic strap is around his head. He gave the visor to me because he wanted an adjustable visor instead, other than that problem, it is a great hat.

Be wary that if you’re gifting it to an adult man or someone with a large head, it may be too small.

Love the look but not comfortable to wear. Too bulky on the sides and nearly ran out of Velcro for the back. My head lis normal size. Uncomfortable over the ears and just doesn’t form to head well tho product may just be stiff from newness.

Much much much prefer the fit of elastisized visor. Would love to exchange for other visor type. Waited a month for order to come in while my girlfriend only waited two weeks :thinking: Nice company tho I’m sorry this isn’t more positive 😔.

I love many of 2XU’s products, but not this one. If I wear it for an extended period (I regularly walk for several hours), I find that – even with the band quite loose – the section of the visor where the band joins the brim presses into my head, finally giving me a headache.

Having used the headbands from Halo I was reasonably sure the visor would be a value add to my running gear. No mistake there. The sweat control of the headband wand the visor keeps sun out of my but allow the breeze to reach the top of my head.

So far, it great from the warm long runs.

I have the halo skull cap and thought I would give the hat a try. It’s ok but would be better if the band inside to catch the sweat was attached. I do like the the shade provided by the hat bill but it’s very flat and not flexible.

Personal choice but I like to bend my hat bills. A decent product but as someone that has a shaved head I think the skull cap is a better option.

I had originally purchased a Halo headband and that works well for indoor workouts. But combining the headband with the hat has really contributed double duty to my outdoor workouts: (1) no blinding sweat in my eyes, and (2) no blinding sun in my eyes.

Very happy with the Halo cap.

After the glowing reviews of this visor, I was super excited?. and sorely disappointed. Backcountry says it is ?one size fits all? but the visor tag says it is a M/L. Which is a problem because without my thick hair my head has a small circumference, leaving the Velcro strap maxed out.

Second issue, the sunglasses sleeve is cool, if you have perfect sunglasses, which I obviously do not own. My sunglasses arms would not fit into the sleeves and I found that the visor pinched my ears when I tried to wear the visor with sunglasses.

At the end of the day, it wasn?t worth the price to ship it back, so my husband has a nice new visor. But if you have a small, oval shaped head and like to wear sunglasses, I would keep looking.

On the plus side, it is cool and lightweight for here in the desert where I live. On the negative side, the brim does not provide the wider area of my other visors. Also, I have a small head and when I secure the velcro strap to fit me, the extra unneeded length of strap sticks way out on the side.

In addition, the brim does not lay flat but rises up in the middle where it is designed to fold. Due to this fold, whenever I face the east sun in the morning while exercising, I have to have it so low that I can hardly see safely.

I am sorry I bought it.

I love this visor and own five of them. It fits easily in my bag and in the pocket of the car door. It washes easily and dries pretty quickly. My eyes are very light and very sensitive to the sun, so I need to have it with me all the time.

I can’t go anywhere without it!.

Wanted a hat to play beach volleyball in. Clean design, comfy, breathable. It’s a great hat. Now stop soliciting a review every 2 days thanks

Hat fit well but very low quality compared to past running hats and logo cam off in the wash before I realized it was a hand wash only- first time I have ever seen that:( Save your money!!

I love this hat, and its now my favorite. Like all TYR merchandise, you can t beat the quality. I am not a swimmer, but love Their t shirts and base layers. I am a frequent customer.

So disappointed in this expensive visor. I wore it for a 5 mile run and had to keep adjusting it. Because it is velco instead of elastic it doesn’t fit as well as their other visor styles. Also the brim is quite small small but the band across your forehead is wide and stiff.

this visor doesn’t look good or work well either! i miss the old fast- paced run visors with wide deep brims and stretch to them – please bring them back!.

I bought this a few weeks ago. I already own 2 visors from them which are thinner/narrower strap. However, I’ve seen people wearing wider/thicker strap just like this one shown on the photos. Bought online, the visor that came was the narrower strap.

Called customer service and returned. Still persistent, I called the shop and this lady said and ensured me they have the thicker strap in store. Kept it for me, went to the shop same day and still it was the narrow strap visor.

Please be consistent with your photos and your actual stock on hand. It has costed me wasted time and effort.

I tried the mens after reading the woman’s one was wasn’t a good fit. It was too big for me. Then I tried the other woman’s one (the top was too short. My forehead stuck out over it). I was very happy to see this one.

I will definitely be ordering it in other colours. I ordered white , and I also love the detachable band inside incase makeup or to wash from sweat! Fits perfect!.

I’m a long distance endurance athlete. I’ve previously worn Salomon, 2XU and TNF visors and this is by far the most comfortable. Like the title suggests it’s ultralight; you’ll quickly forget you have it on.

Other visors compress when I start sweating but this one has no such issue. The terry cloth is super comfortable and absorbs well. I will definitely be buying another.

The fit is okay. Feels a little loose on me, but isn’t falling off or down when I run so not a big deal. The band at the front is a little thicker material like a sweatband – I’m not really a fan of that.

I do like being able to wear my hair up higher than I can in a hat.

I sweat a lot, so any thing on my head other than a buff, makes the sweat drip in my face. This seems to keep the top of my head cool and the sweat out of my face and keeps the sun out of my eyes. I will it was a little less tagged with logos though.

and I haven’t put it through the wash yet, so can’t comment on how it handles that.

I do not wear any hats cause I refuse to have the bed head look. 😂🤣 Missions visor solves the problem. I love being able to wear my hair outside of the hat while still having a visor. Love it so much that I have 3 visors -the black, red/gray and royal blue/gray.

A full white one would the great.

I absolutely think these visors are the best. Bought 4. The weight and style is perfect. As a matter of fact, Just bought 3 more and have recommended them to friends. I hope u come out with some new colors to add to my collection.

I bought this visor recently because I prefer to wear a visor in the sun instead of sunglasses. I wanted one I could get wet at the pool or the beach. It is so light that I barely feel it, which I love because it helps me stay cool.

The part that attaches to your head is stretchy and super comfortable. I’ve been wearing it every day since buying it, while walking my dog, going to the beach, and to the pool.

Solid visor, nice that the logo is a bit reflective. Material makes even the white easier to clean than expected. Didn’t love how stiff the non-elastic part of the band was as it doesn’t form fully to my head, but still very comfortable and wearable- just personal preference.

Carry this in my bike bag – great to slip on when stopping for lunch/coffee – hides dreaded helmet hair and keeps sun (if it ever comes to chilly BC this spring!) off my head. Great fit with adjustable shot chord.

Can pull pony tail through slot. Very happy – quite pricey, though.

Super cute colour, great Buff quality. Airy enough for summer outdoor and as well indoor sweat caching. 🙂 Seams to be colour stable. Can be carried around wrist when not needed on a head. Washing machine safe.

Like the pattern, excitingly bright, surprisingly thin material add little to none weight. Handy to carry along. Slightly shallow coverage and the visor doesn’t hold its shape as I would have expected.

There’s some elastic material in the entire body of the hat, very stretchy. Slightly funny fitting.

I ordered the headsweats chef caps but I wanted visors as an option too. In the end, myself and most of my people decided they liked the visor better. While the chef caps are really great, these visors seem to work even better.

We really like the extra thick padding on the forehead for sweat collection and softness. The elastic band around the back seems to be decent quality and I like how wide it is so its not applying pressure in a small area.

I will say the elastic part can bother you after many hours of wearing where the adjustable cap can be adjusted to a tighter or looser feel, but overall I still prefer the visor over the cap most of the time.

Nice light visor. I have the exact one in a ball hat too, the visor is nice for the hot summer. One thing I don’t like about it is that the band is not adjustable and the visor’s strap is very large.

I have a big head and it is quite big on me. Easily fixed as I sewed a pleat in the band so it stays on. I got this on sale for $10, which I thought was an awesome deal.

I only wear Headsweats visors for running. The elastic back does not pull my hair or slide. The fit is always comfortable, no pinching near ears. I run 50 miles a week and I run marathons throughout the year.

In any weather, Headsweats works for me. I can wash in bag on delicate cycle and gang to dry.

The second one I have bought from the Running Room. I like these visors because I find my hear gets too hot with a baseball cap when running. After a few years the elasticity of the band wears out, so I bought a replacement.

If you can pick one up it on sale, it’s a fantastic buy.

I love this visor so much, that I have them in several colors. I use this visor for long runs, walks, and golfing. Keeps seat off my face and allows my head to stay cool. It is not bulky, and looks great on women.

Visor is easy to wash, and is a great value.

Personally, I prefer a visor to a cap when the sun is out, as it keeps the sun out of my eyes and off my face, whereas lets my hair steam off, but in the business end of marathon or ultra marathon training I am leaving the house before sunrise to get my long run in before most of my household is up and about – therefore, this Proviz visor is perfect as in that period of time before sun up, I know that the lining of the visor contains the high vis segments that will light me up should a car come my way.

But then as soon as sun is up, it performs well with a wicking material and easy to fix Velcro type fastening on the back that did not cause any issues even on a run lasting several hours, great stuff! (Please note item was gifted).

Absolutely loved receiving this as a Christmas gift having eyed them up for a while. The pink is perfect and I won’t be missed running in the dark nights! Great material too, waterproof but breathable.

Love the hat. I wear this with my HUK shirts and shoes. My friends kid me about being a HUK billboard or advertising model. I can send Photos once I take some. Kinda camera shy.

The visor is beautiful! You look – the soul rejoices, and if put on and run, it becomes clear that it is underdeveloped. I saw him at many triathletes. So many people can’t be wrong, right? Maybe this model is not the same? What’s wrong: The visor rests on the forehead with a seam! After 20 minutes, a dent is already in the forehead.

How the Swiss could do this is not clear to me. I would love to return the visor if I were compensated for the shipment. I do not recommend it! To nobody!.

My wife using it for tennis and running. just loving it. good style and light weight. highly remmend for summer activities.

I am typically not a hat person, mostly because I have a large head which most hats are too tight/small for, especially as a woman (why the clothing industry decided all women have small heads is a mystery to me).

HOWEVER, this hat is a dream. It’s big enough for my large head, and it’s adjustable – I have it tightened only about a third of the way. Perfect for a mid to low ponytail, which works for me since higher ponytails tend to give me a headache.

It’s so lightweight and breathable, I pretty much forget it’s on in terms of heat management on a run. The bill is amazing at keeping out both sunlight glare and rain. I have it in both black and grey, and I love it.

I recommend it to anyone and everyone who struggles to find hats big enough for their head.

I have a couple of these and I put them through the ringer. I run routinely and sweat profusely in these hats and they go to the wash quite a bit. These hats hold up like a champ if you are looking for a running hat that can endure the maintenance that comes with running regularly.

This hat is not my new “go-to”: It is my go-to period. I’ll pass on the current limited color options. Not interested in something with “Houston” printed on it, either. Brooks, I am a sucker for these hats but you’ll need more color options sans “Houston” to milk more money out of me.

I have tried on the Chaser Hat, but unfortunately found it to be too tight for my head. What I like about the Sherpa Hat is not only is it light, thin & dries fast, but it has a longer brim than other running caps & so more of my face gets shade.

Another thing is that the edges of the cap (above my ears) do not interfere with the stems of my eyeglasses. This may not be true for everyone since it depends on how big your head & hair are. I wish Brooks would make this hat in more colors!.

I bought this cap for my husband who was doing an ultra running event. I ordered two sizes as I was short on time and returned one. They arrived promptly and the return was quick & easy. He ended up with the small, he does always say he has a small head so that made sense.

My husband said the cap was excellent. He loved that it was light and folded, I think he even used the sunglasses holders too! Perfect for him.

I love a white cap for running in hot weather. This not only fits the bill in terms of keeping me cool, but the foldable peak and sunglasses holding straps are great little additions. The holding straps especially are a boon for racing.

They hold your sunglasses securely leaving you stress free to concentrate on your run. The folding peak means I can shove my cap into my back pocket when wearing jeans etc.

Tried 4 different caps and through no fault of stigma they were all too small. Why most cap C companies have one size firs all does t work for me. However Sigma has an excellent web site plenty of choices with a variety of pricing so a good shopping experience Returns quick and easy so overall an interesting experience.

I’ve bought and worn them all: Adidas, Nike, New Balance running hats. Brooks’ Sherpa is by far the best hat for running. Full. Stop. Longest brim of its competitors to keep the sun off. Reinforced brim does not warp, bubble or freak out when you machine wash and machine dry it.

Rear tightening strap is perfect for maintaining a snug fit while running through Coronavirusville while wearing a neck gaiter.

Only had about a month but feel like I’ve pushed it hard. Really enjoying this for trail running and backpacking. Definitely cooler than a full hat, especially when wearing under a sun hoodie. Stretches nicely, does a good job at managing sweat drip.

Stays comfortable when wearing all day. Can still blow off if you’re not careful. my daughters tell me it looks dorky, but they say that about a lot of things.

This is the ONLY visor that I can find that is made for a climbing helmet, and it is AMAZING! I wear it all day on approaches, multi-pitch rock climbs, etc. You can flip the brim up for a pitch if it’s blocking your view, then down for belaying or similar.

Also works well with a bike helmet, or just as a comfortable visor while running. The material is great for sweat. I tell everyone about this product and hope OR never stops making them.

Love. My go-to for hiking this summer. I don’t always like to wear a hat, this keeps the sweat from dripping into my eyes, and provides a sun visor without wearing a full hat. Plays nice with long hair and a ponytail.
