20 Best Vitamin For Cats (2022 Updated)

While searching for the best multivitamins for my cats, I compared all the different vitamins available on Chewy. I chose the VetriScience Nu Cat Chewable Tablets Multivitamin for Cats because I was looking for a tablet version multivitamin (as opposed to soft chewable vitamins) to ensure proper dosage since the soft treats are often crumbled and not consistent from treat to treat.

The reviews were good and most people seemed to state their cats enjoyed the tablets. Before purchasing these, I knew there was a chance my cats would hate the taste of the vitamin tablets. I figured if my cats likes the vitamin tablets as is, then great! If not, then the backup plan was to use cat pill treats to encase these.

When I first purchased these vitamins, my two cats willingly ate them for the first couple of weeks. Then they slowly lost interest, and I eventually ended up using greenie cat pill treats to encase these vitamins.

Ever since then, they’ve had no problems taking their vitamins! I’ve been feeding these vitamins to my cats, 1 tablet daily for each cat, for two months now and I just started to notice the coat condition of my cats has greatly improved.

Now their coats look very shiny and healthy! I would definitely recommend these multivitamins.

Our 18 year Maine Coon mix loves these. Our big boy (34″ from tip of nose to tip of tail) has always eaten mainly dry food. He will not touch any canned foods. So I occasionally fix him chicken or fish.

He’s very finicky about vitamins and treats, but these VetriScience Nu Cat Senior Soft Chews Multivitamins for Cats are on his favorites list. He is such a special guy. He made it through a very long drive a couple of times moving from one state to another.

These vitamins are part of his regimen every day. He gets one in the morning and one at night. I break each treat in 2-3 pieces and put one of the pieces on the floor or mat in front of the bowl so he can discover it while putting the other piece(s) in his bowl with the food.

It also makes it seem like there are more treats. He’s probably hugged 50 times a day and loves every minute of it. He’s a true cuddler. Absolutely remarkable. We only give our boy the best, so we would definitely recommend this multivitamin.

This is a really great product. After reading the mixed reviews I decided to get this anyway for my boy. He likes them a lot. I’m not sure why some people said they are too big. They’re about the size of a human aspirin pill, not as big as some of the cat prescription pills I’ve had to administer so I’m not sure what too big means.

I don’t give treat snacks but he thinks that his daily vitamin pill is one. I just tell him it’s time for a treat and he eats it right up, or I guess I should say he swallows it whole (go figure that one out.

) I’ve noticed his fur is starting to get softer like other people have noticed and he doesn’t have as much discharge from his eyes. He is a rescued stray that’s enjoying the good life of regular food, soft beds, and toys toys toys.

I’m just glad he likes these because who doesn’t need their daily vitamin pill.

Very good multivitamin support that I have used for 20 years for our dogs. My young dog had developed intermittent soreness in her hind legs that was undiagnosed – hips were perfect, joints all fine, no viral or bacterial causes, specialist was stumped.

I was convinced it was a nutritional problem because Juno has always eaten approximately HALF of the expected calorie intake for her size. I figured she was not getting enough micronutrients to support her body, especially during the growth stages before 2 years of age.

Within three weeks of starting Canine Plus she was totally sound, and still is at almost 8-years-old! Have found other VetriScience products very good, too.

I ordered K9 senior multi vitamin plus senior soft chew multivitamin. What I got was canine senior multivitamin. I don’t know if that’s supposed to be a soft chew or not. If this is supposed to be a soft chew for a senior dog, it’s not.

Mine did not have any type of scent like some of the other reviews state. However, my dog still realized it was something other than dog food and turned her nose up to it. Unfortunately my dog is a rescue, and only had a few teeth when I got her so this is not soft enough for her to chew.

Fours star because I believe this is a high quality product and THE ONLY cat vitamin chew I found that is truly soft and chewable. Breaks in half nicely. Too strong a vitamin odor. The intended older cat refused and so did my two younger cats (and even my dog).

My younger cats are not finicky so this speaks to its smell. A stronger cat desirable flavor and less vitamin odor would earn this five stars. A great product but it must appeal to the cat consumer.

Licks pill-free multi-vitamins are a Godsend! Our husky is such a picky eater that we were worried that he wasn’t getting the nutrients that he needs. Like most animals, it’s nearly impossible to get our Husky to take a pill.

He is so smart that we have run out of ways to hide pills from him. We figured our only other choice was to cross our fingers and try a liquid vitamin. My daughter feeds it to him on a spoon and he thinks it’s a treat and licks it all up!! Thank you Licks!! Highly recommend!!!!.

This is an excellent name brand for your dog and cats needs. I cook our Chihuahua’s food and give her this multivitamin. It has much of what says is included in a can or bag of commercial dog food, so she gets that part, along with her fresh, home cooked meat and vegetables.

Princess loves the taste and looks foward to having it. It’s liquid and I keep a packet in a little airtight container in the fridge and give it to her from the container. You have to cut the packet with a scissor.

I cut the top, squeeze into the container, cut the sides and let her lick out the packet, then dispose the packet. Wash the container and add a new packet for the next dose.

OMG! I cannot believe how my picky pooche LOVES this vitamin! We have tried different brands of vitamins in her food or hiding in peanut butter and she will have nothing to do with it! She is not a “snacker”, so we can’t con her into taking anything on or in a treat.

This Licks vitamin pack is absolutely amazing! We squeeze out the packet into her food and she wolfs it down with no problem. Too bad we can only give it to her every other day because she now looks for this in her food on the “off” day!!! It is pricey, but for me, it is worth it to see my girl enjoy something that’s good for her.

I would recommend it and will buy it again.

My sweet cat had a bleeding outer ear infection, this (we believe), caused her Anemia. We want to help her overcome this. We have used this before and she takes it well with her food. She has only been taking it for a few weeks but she seems to be doing much better.

It will take some time and care. Please, anyone who has a Cat and the Cat gets injured (with bleeding), act quickly to build up their Iron intake so they do not become Anemic. It only takes a little blood loss.

I wish we had know this crucial information before. We will not give up on her. Blessings to All.

I have one cat that got sick as a kitten and it was undetermined whether it was leukemia after 3 tests. One vet wanted to do thousands of dollars in tests, but another recommended a blood transfusion first.

I did the transfusion and he rebounded to a happy cat, but was going to be on Prednisolone for likely a long time. I researched Liqui-Tinic (vitamins/minerals) and have been giving a dropper full with his pill now for 11 years.

He is slowing and showing signs of what originally ailed him, but he is a miracle cat and I believe the Liqui-Tinic is helpful in giving an additional boost since the medication makes him urinate more frequently.

When my 19-year-old cat was diagnosed with kidney failure and anemia, our vet said he needed daily subcutaneous fluids and specific high-iron vitamins. The sub-Q fluids were enough of a struggle; my cat did not like the prescribed vitamins and that led to another daily struggle.

I purchased this after watching a few of Jackson’s videos on assisting senior cats. One of mine is going on 12 and I’m a big proponent of preventative medicine with myself and my animal companions. He’s been on this daily for about 3 weeks and I can already see a big difference–less lethargic with almost kitten-like bursts of energy, a softer coat with less dandruff, and less vomiting.

Jasper is 11 years old, he’s always been on a special diet high fiber, because he’s always had issues. In the last several months he starting losing weight and having diarrhea. We did blood test and X-rays but nothing we screaming cancer! Our vet said he needs to gain weight and it seams like he’s not absorbing what he needs.

My dog has a summer skin allergy. It does not stop her from itching totally but it is a lot less than what she normally deals with. I had her on medication but I think her system got use to it and it stopped work.

The medication was to expensive for me to keep her on it and it not work. So far this is at least calming her down to a manageable itch level.

This vitamin has a good balance of ingredients that my vet feels will help my dog. I like that it is made in America and my dog takes it without coaxing.

I’m sure these are great for your dog *if they’ll actually eat them*. I tried EVERYTHING and it was a no-go. He wouldn’t take it plain, so I tried wrapping it in his favorite pill pocket and he still wouldn’t take it.

Tried wrapping it in cheese, then liverwurst, then peanut butter, and all were non-starters. He took it when it was wrapped in PB, ate most of the peanut butter from around it and then spit the slimy, PB-laced vitamin out.

On my shoe. And then gave me a dirty look and went off to sulk. LOL, he’s made his opinion crystal clear and I’m just not willing to do battle on that level on a regular basis. Maybe you’ll have better luck.

I’m giving 4 stars because they work really well! When you can get your cat to eat them. My senior was lethargic but when she ate one of these every day I could tell her energy was coming back to her, and her coat was softer.

However, on my second order of these she’s decided she doesn’t like them anymore, and neither do any of my other cats. So it’s a hit or miss on whether your cat will like it. But they do work well. Maybe they changed the formula? She loved the first batch.

I’ve tried for years to get my tortie and my tuxedo to take their vitamins and we’ve always struggled to find something they’ll both eat. All the other options out there have been too smelly, weirdly textured, too chewy, or just too gross tasting for them to enjoy.

These VitaPet pills have been great! I crush one easily between my fingers each morning and mix it in with a small can of wet food. The cats gobble up their food, none the wiser that I’m micro-dosing them on that sweet Glucosamine.

I have 4 cats. They’ve recently been unwell with one thing after another after quite a difficult 2021. I got these vitamins after spending a lot of time and money at the vets in the hopes they’d perk the cats up.

So far I can’t see a drastic change but after 2 weeks the cats seem a bit perkier I think. 2 of my cats love these as treats and will eat them whole. The other two, I crush them and sneak them into their wet food.

So my guess is they must taste very nice as there’s been no refusal to eat them. My guess is it adds a nice flavour kick to their wet food. Other supplements in flavoured treat form that I’ve given them in the past has either lead to upset tummies or blunt refusal to eat them even crushed in food/disguised.

Broken up, crushed or whole I’ve been able to give these Beaphar vitamins to all 4 cats with no upset tummies. baring in mind 2 of them can have sensitive stomachs if new foods are introduced. I don’t know yet if these are just a tasty gimmick or they have actual cat health benefits.

Only time will tell. If by the end of the tub, the cats seem better I’ll buy more. And 180 is a decent amount of tablets for 4 cats. It says 1 tablet per 2. 5kg of body weight. My smallest girl Una is only about 2.

7kg even at 8 years old, she’s always been petite so I giveher 1 a day crushed in her wet food. Or add two crushed in her food every other day. My largest boy Oliver is rather rotund and nearly 5kg so I give him 2 a day, he’ll eat them as they are haha not being fussy.

If you’re not sure of your cats weight, the average adult cat is around 4kg. If your cat is on the larger side of average in your opinion I’d say give them two a day. If they’re slim or petite then 1 will do.

Or 2 every other day. Tbh 2 of mine have had these like sweeties when I’ve been soft and given in to meowing – as they now think they’re treats. and no upset tummies yet. No more than 3 a day I’d say.

if you give them a few, then leave it a couple of days. I am genuinely impressed with in my cats’ opinion the tastiness of these!.

I’ve been using the Beophar cat vitamins for my older cats for years and the condition and improvement in cats is noticeable. The cats will eat these out of your hand. I tried the dog version on my Jack Russell a couple of years ago due to her getting on a bit in years.

Once again, immediate and noticeable improvement in her fur, skin and energy levels. I give a couple of these a day as a treat and she loves them. I’m no expert on vitamins and initially chose these because of the reasonable price.

I do see a difference in her general well-being and would recommend these. Probably a waste of time on younger dogs but on older dogs its worth the few pence a day to supplement their diet.

I have an assistance dog who only eats fresh beg, chicken breast and brown rice. The vitamins contact everything else she may be missing in her diet. Why buy dog food when you can cook it all for cheaper, know exactly what is in it with no horrible extras to preserve it, I wouldn’t even give my dog tinned dog food.

If you love your dog and want them to be healthy, cook fresh and use this vitamin to add anything else required. Two meals a day, a good walk, and she even takes off my shoes and socks off in the evening.

She is my assistance dog so she deserves the best. If you use tinned food, do YOU know EXACTLY what has been put in it ? Even expensive brands, same preservatives and left over chicken food, FEED YOUR DOG THE BEST if you love them.

Or be lazy and buy a tin to show your love ! Don’t forget a tin opener to realy show your love !!!!!!!.

This has got a lot of great ingredients. Mini cat food supplements won’t even list the amounts of what they have in their product. And most of them have half of the ingredients that Life Extension does.

I trust Life Extension. I take many of their supplements as well. I figure if they are good enough for me they’re good enough for my eight year old kitty. Here’s a tip for your cat to eat it though. Just start out with a little bit on their food and slowly work it up.

My cat is an 8 yr old rescue and came to me at 17 pounds so I have to give her well over the two scoops that are only for 9 pound cats. But she doesn’t complain I’m surprise she eats it because she’s very picky.

Remember cats do not have nearly the amount of taste buds that humans do. Of course if she absolutely would not eat it I would switch but she did and honestly is more active in this product. I pay $40 for an online product from A “Vet”.

She would be worth it if I noticed a difference but I did not! On life extensions products she actually runs down the hall ☺️.

I did some research before deciding on this supplement for my 3 cats. I liked that this did not have added phosphorus which most cats already get through their food. This is a very good balanced mix and is better choice for mid to older cats.

in fact I think it may be the best one on the market for adult cats. I also like that it has probiotics. I researched many sources looking for one like this. I no longer have to crush up a cat vitamin tablet to add to their food, because this one is already in powder form.

My cats are super healthy and when my vet asked about their diet and she was super pleased when I told her what I feed them as they are super healthy. I found Cat Mix in my search for a healthy supplement to my cat’s limited ingredient diet.

My kittys coats are shiny and they run about with tails curled high! So I think I made a good decision to have more control over nourishing their health; I feed them limited ingredient foods with no added chemicals.

I bought this for one of my cats as a supplement because he was not eating well and diagnosed with pancreatitis. After his prescribed antibiotics treatment was over, he was still on and off about food.

We went back to the vet twice, and he had another 2 courses of amoxicillin. I was pretty desperate and frustrated about his condition. Every time he went off the antibiotics, he was not eating again.

I read a lot about pancreatitis and when the pancreas is inflamed, it leaks digestive enzymes, so my cat is missing that in his digestive system. I decided to try these vitamins because it includes the enzymes.

My cats have all shown improvement in overall health since giving them this supplement. The ones adopted from a shelter originally were dull-coated kittens with the general minor health issues common to that sort of situation.

Shortly after beginning this supplement, their coats became shinier and felt softer. They seem healthier overall. Now, a year after beginning this daily supplement, my cats are all still healthy. The powder dissolves easily in canned food portions, and none of my cats have seemed to notice.

I purchased this for a kitty that is NOT a picky eater at all and always licks the dish clean when I feed him wet food. I received this today and decided to start with 1/8th of a teaspoon mixed in his evening wet food.

He started to eat it and then flatly refused to finish his food mixed with this vitamin powder. Tried to get the other cats in the house to eat the rest before I threw it out but no takers. I would not recommend this product.

The canister was only half full when I opened it, but that’s okay, will keep trying various vitamins. My cat has stress uti’s, and sometimes gets constipated. Since starting her on this, she is not suffering any uti’s and has been poohing like a world-class champion.

She has a lot more pep, and her appetite has increased. She is also more vocal, so I will keep giving her vitamins as they seem to help balance her issues.

My cat accepts this supplement mixed with her soft food. I add a splash of water and mostly use it on her soft food for the day. I have not tried it on her kibble as of yet. It seems to be acceptable to her and she is a fussy cat.

I’m sorry I try to post my questions here before I purchase and it makes constantly error. I have 2 years old cat, 17 lbs and he is under weight control plan. 1. My cat is healthy but my apartment has no sunlight at all.

Can I give him for help of sunlight which is vitamin D? 2. I feed him a lysine in wet food in the morning for his immune health. Can I give this one drop in wet food in the evening? Please answer me.

In June we had my dog Rues vitamin D levels tested. they came back in the red deficient at 14. 6. That is when we started using Rx D3. In August I had her re-tested and she was in the yellow with insufficient levels of 50.

8. Even through she was still insufficient she did improve. As I looked at the timeline of our re-test I probably should have waited another 6 weeks to re-test but at that time we were already at the vet so I just had him do the draw.

There was about 7 weeks between the 2 test and I also have to admit I wasn’t consistent as I could have been. My dog has pancreatitis and a few other issues so this supplement has to be disbursed in her food 4-6x’s throughout the day.

If anyone who has a dog with multiple health issues it can be a little overwhelming with timing of meds, supplements, and meals. Since August i started tracking her doses on a board every day so consistency has been much better.

Next week we have an appointment and I’m looking forward to re-testing to see where we are now. Since we had positive results before I do anticipate this time will be even better. My experience ordering from Vet RX direct has been great.

I purchased this medication for my cat. The box was toooo big for the amount of bottles ordered (8) wrapped in paper but loosly rattling around in the box. The bottles are glass and I was surprised none were broken, Considering the trip, delivery, and banging around while in process.

I would suggest bundling these bottles in bubble wrap as the product itself does not come boxed.

For many years my cats have suffered skin lesions and overgrooming. They have been to the vet many times and always the answer was flea allergy. One time this trip cost 92 pounds. There were times when no fleas were present and times when flea treatments were being used.

My cat is very fussy and giving him furball paste has been a challenge. After trying various ones (some very expensive) and him refusing to eat his food mixed with the paste I am delighted he absolutely loves this one.

It’s a good consistency and very reasonably priced – excellent value.

Good product not just good for hairballs, but also helps pass stools , good for disabled or elderly pusscats ,I mix it in pate / gravy food which is how my disabled cat likes it works for her.

I have been feeding our cats the feline Power food Poultry Dinner dry food (sometimes mixed in with the Rabbit) for quite awhile & always like to see what kind of deals come up during my check out. This past purchase included these vitamins on sale & I was skeptical.

I noticed that the powder smells a lot like the Tasty Bites Hairball Treats & the UT Balance treats, which they both like, so I added a little powder to some crumbled up Hairball treats & they both liked it.

They didn’t like it added to their wet food, but again tonight I added some powder to the crumbled up combination of both treats & my fussy little old lady loves it. I added a little powder on it’s own to her dish & she scarfed that up, too!! She has always liked any of the dry products & treats that I’ve bought here, but this one is a surprise.

She will be 16 this August & recently got a compliment from the vet about how good she looks for her age, with her fur & her teeth. I think your products may have a little something to do with that. It’s good to know that I can do what I can to keep her healthy without it being such a battle, as cat staff know that it can easily be.

Love that this brand is made with real whole food vitamins. I make my own cat food and this supplement offers a great daily ratio especially taurine. My cat doesn’t mind the taste at all. He has been getting it since he was kitten though.

My extremely finicky cat always gobbled up the Well & Good brand cat vitamins (sold at PetCo) but which have been out of stock for months now. So I purchased these vitamins for her. She does eat them usually but sometimes she’ll refuse.

Most days I can only get her to eat 2 of the vitamins, rarely will she eat the recommended 4 per day. I am thankful, however, for these vitamins because she is such a picky eater I was concerned she wasn’t getting enough of the necessary vitamins.

I use a number of supplements as well as prescribed heart medications for our dog with cardiomyopathy (of a valvular nature). It’s always a bit of a challenge to tell what exactly does what, but my sense is that this product is helping.

I’ve also started using a pinch of it for my 17 year old cat who sometimes shows signs of heart issues. Since our dog is little and does not swallow pills well, I open the capsules and put the powder into a mix for him of supplements, including the canine heart support by Standard Process.

I think he likes the taste of that. Always a bit of a guess, but I don’t think that he minds the taste of the formula cv mixed in with liquid.
