20 Best Vitamin For Dogs (2022 Updated)

So far so good, we haven’t been using this long enough to see full benefits (about 2 weeks now). The amount of powder is very little compared to the large jar, I would like to see an improvement in the packaging ie reduce it.

I will buy again however until I can see the result after at least a couple of months. Bought to try to improve skin condition which looks like the start of DLE so hoping this will stop any further progress if it is in fact this.

Tried everything else so really hopeful for these vitamins to have a positive effect.

PLUS, it settles just fine with my one’s highly sensitive tummy. It does smell more of Rosemary than fish oil — some dogs might not be fans of the taste, but mine sure are! In fact, instead of adding it to their food, I just measure it out at mealtime and they lick it enthusiastically off the spoon.

Please continue to carry this product, Chewy! It’s made a world of difference for my pups’ skin and coats.

I bought this supplement after reading about it on a ragdoll cat website. My ragdoll sheds like crazy and within a day of using this supplement, there is substantially less hair around the house! I am actually shocked at how well this works.

My dog has been so happy and energetic since trying Finn Hip & Joint Supplement. I knew, when I got my GSD that he was going to require a little more attention than any other pet I’ve had. My fiance and I have been researching which supplement to give him to prevent hip & joint pain, then I received this and its amazing.

Ive always had a routine of waking up at 6am to get my fiances lunch and coffee ready for work, and before I do that, I take my dogs outside. My GSD has woke me up with his frisbee at 5am, and hes so cute, I cant say no.

It seems that he dosent get as tired now, and loves to play forever. Before trying this supplement, he was active but not this active. Ive seen several benefits so far and we have only been using this for approx 2 weeks.

He has more energy, dosent get as tired as fast, wants to keep going and dosent seem to have to stop like he use to. He has also started eating more food which is GREAT because he only eats once a day (his choice) and hardly finishes his food, with this supplement on board, he is asking for more food and finishing it.

That makes me happy! I will definitely continue to give this to my dog and I will definitely purchase more once he runs out. I would definitely recommend this product to family and friends or anyone looking to improve your dogs hips and joint movement.

As another person said, this is a metal container that is painted. I don’t think this product is stored well or transit is just too hot. These are the consistency of melted tootsie rolls covered in mineral oil.

If you order in the warm months it’s just a solid mass. If you use a knife or something to try and cut them apart in the container, the paint chips off onto the product and it is assumed that is toxic paint.

I am not a packaging expert but there has to be better options than this. That being said, I do think this product makes a difference, more so than Cosequin. I like the ingredient list more so and my dog tolerates it better.

I use along with a collagen supplement and my 12 year old boy is limber and quick. Fix the packaging and it’ll be 5 stars.

Our dogs absolutely love these and I think that they do add high quality nutrition to their diet helping keep their hips and joints mobile and healthy. That being said they often (3 out of 4 so far) arrive melted together and are hard to separate and use.

We asked for a replacement from Chewy when the first melted one arrived but the replacement was melted as well. Chewy’s customer service is the very best out there. There is simply a problem with the climate control / packaging for this product.

We believe the problem originates while in storage. We don’t think it melts in shipping, although it could in the warmer months, because it arrives melted even when shipped in the cold of winter. If our next one arrives melted we will search for an alternative.

As the title states, it does what it advertises. Thor started on Bully Max when he was 8 months old. Thor is not quite 10 months now, but there is a difference in his appearance and definitely his stamina.

Thor is an Olde English Bulldogge and if you know Bulldogs, they aren’t the springy nor the wild one in the bunch. Thor’s routine was sleeping over 12 hours a day. After a week on Bully Max, his routine begin to change.

I LOVE this stuff. I couldn’t afford to keep up with Bullymax amazing food, but it made such a difference with my dog. This stuff has brought my dogs skin and fur back to life! She used to be thin and no food we would give her mad a difference.

4-6 cups a day and she still looked skin and bones. Her fur was thin and coarse, she had spots she would lick and not stop, and the way she used to eat so fast was alarming. Your product has worked well in the past for me. Maybe a 1 is too low but i hoped it would draw attention to the comment. I purchased 2 boxes of 3 each and also went on auto reorder. A few days after rebels first dose of 1 tblspoon a day i figured that would work.

A weird rash began first on his chest and then groin area. Visits to the vet and her trying normal stuff did not work. So at that point we began removing diatary stuffs. Once bully dog supp. Was removed and a few days passed the rash dissapeared.

She could not tell me what in the supp. was the exact cause well to be honest the tests were expensive enough and i have to manage my funds. I have not contacted cust svc as of yet but plan on a call in later this week.

My Lab, Cooper, has had skin issues most of his life. Now that he’s an old man, finding something that helps him consistently without the use of synthetics or medication can be challenging. Enter Skin & Coat! Within the first week, there has been noticeable improvement.

My dog has sensitive skin. I took him to doggy day care and he was injured by another dog. causing him to have patches all over this legs and paws. He had several patches with no hair and the vet recommended me to give him something with Omega3.

I decided to try these supplements and shortly after use, I started to see the patches fill in with hair. Im happy to say she no longer has any patches and her coat looks healthier than before. Ive also noticed an improvement with her dry skin.

We have a 6 month old yellow Lab. The wild child has a mild case of the winter itchies, so I ordered the Omega Skin and Coat supplements to help alleviate the problem. I recently got a recomendation from my dog’s eye specialist that I start giving my girl OCU-GLO Supplement daily for her poor eye condition. I contacted them and after discussing different options available I decided to go with the chewable form.

Nothing was ever mention in the conversation about dosing amounts and I just assumed that my dog would receive one chew per day. When I got my order it was clearly stated on the package that my dog should have 4 chews per day.

This makes the OCU-GLO extremely expensive from the start. Also, the OCU-GLO has a very bad odor that my dog didn’t like. So, with all of that said I went to the CHEWY site to look for an alternative product.

That is how I found Zesty Paws Advanced Vision Bites and I am so glad I did. These are easier to use, have an acceptable smell and the ingredients are very comparable except the OCU-GLO contains some B vitamins which can be supplemented other ways.

Our poor aging little rescue doggie Rogue has VERY sensitive skin and seems to ALWAYS be licking & scratching trying to find relief and get comfortable. She is forever rolling around scratching herself on the rug or in the dirt and the licking & chewing on her paws has GOT to stop before she hurts herself! I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try this product in my aging dog. He has been struggling with his hips lately. He is extremely leery of any tricks in attempt to give him a product to help with this issue.

First out of the package the chews are the same texture as any of the training treats we purchase. They do not smell like a medicine. He is a bigger dog so I gave him the amount set for dosing and thankfully I was able to also give to his younger sibling to prove they are a treat.

She ate them with no hesitation. He is taking his time deciding if he wants to. I think if he decides he will eat them we will purchase them again. I like that the package isn’t overwhelming with unnecessary information so I was able to quickly find the dosing information and see that my younger dog could also eat them.

They spit it out the first time I gave it to them without the extra treat. I do however like that there was no smell once I opened the bottle. They’re both 12 years old and their age is catching up to them.

One of them does have arthritis, I noticed that after taking a couple of them, even if she doesn’t like them, she moves a bit more easily, she no longer waddles or scratches the couch to get on. She trots and jumps.

However, I would suggest to get a tastier version, I do find it bothersome trying to get her to take it sometimes. I do think it’s a great value for the price if your pet takes one or two a day though.

I could read all the ingredients so that was another huge thing for me, knowing I am giving my dogs healthy ingredients.

The bottle seems very large with 180 chews. It says that dogs under 20 pounds should get 2 chews. My dogs are both roughly 10 pounds so I have been giving them 1 for now. I like that these are relatively soft and can be broken in half.

They are a bit crumby though when you break them. My dogs love them and eat them up right away so they must be good! Hoping to see skin and coat results here really soon.

After having our rescued Coonhound for a year and talking with our vet we decided that she needed something for her ever-growing anxiety issues. She had reached a point where she would do her “sad Coonhound call” for over an hour when we left for work, resulting in a neighbor calling animal control on her! Everything was scary, if the house made a “wrong” noise she would start shaking with fear.

You could always see the whites of her eyes and she would compulsively lick her belly raw to soothe herself. We tried training and making her world as ordered and comfy as possible, thinking that it was a phase from her difficult past.

It took me a little extra time to decide whether Zesty Paws calming bites did as they claimed to do. I have 5 fur babies and gave this product to 3 of them on most occasions. On a few occasions the 13-week-old puppies got one as well but not for them to calm down but because they took it out of my hand before I could give it to my bigger puppies.

First opinion on product- Zesty Paws calming bites are the cutest and most wonderful smelling bites. They are shaped like hearts, look like dusted chocolate and smell like peanut butter. My puppies loved them.

I even enjoyed opening the jar because of the fabulous aroma. These as a regular treat without the calming effect would be wonderful as well. I provided Zesty Paws Calming Bites to my 3 dogs- August, Beagle, 13 months- Quinlan, Boxer/lab mix, 7 months- Chewy, Pomeranian, 11 years.

My puppies are very busy and rambunction fur babies who ram and tear all day and sometimes, all night. I gave them each 2 of the calming bites around 7pm and I noticed by around 8pm that they would start to settle down and life would get quiet in our home.

Chewy did not need one as he is a quiet dog as well, but I did not want him to feel left out so he would get a half of a heart shaped bite. The more often I gave them to the puppies, the longer it took for them to work, hence, the longer time in writing my review.

It finally got to where I would give the bites to the puppies between 5 and 6 so I could get them calmed down and settled between 8 and 9 pm. Most nights they slept until my alarm went off at 5 am. and I was very appreciated of this.

I have not tried other products like this before, but I have given the puppies vet prescribed trazodone and I believe that the calming bites worked better once the puppies laid down. They stayed asleep longer with the calming bites.

If you have active puppies or dogs, I do recommend giving these calming bites a try. I will definitely be purchasing them. ***I was given a free sample to try in return for my honest opinion of the product.

The dasuquin large dog chews are now smaller and much harder than the original chews. They claimed the originals were a soft chew, but they were very hard , and now the new chew is so very hard you can barely break it up.

I must grind it into a coffee type ground and mix with my dogs food because he does not like them at all. So I try and hide it in his food along with a bit of meat in his morning meal , he gets 2 ground up chews every day.

It was hard to grind the original chews between your fingers, but these new smaller chews are HARD , very HARD. Why can’t the company truly make a SOFT chew, a chew that you can squeeze between your thumb and index fingers.

It is ridiculous to call them a soft chew. And I am going to ask my vet for a different medicine, my dog takes pills much better than he does these awful chews. I did manage with the original large dog chews, it was hard , but I tried every morning to do it.

But these new supposedly soft chews are so hard you can tap them on the table and they sound like a coin tapping the table , ridiculous, was the change necessary, a simple chore was hard already, but now that simple chore is impossible for me.

I might try and put them in the food processor and sprinkle 2 teaspoons into his morning food. Please go back to the old formula, even though they were hard also.

My 7 year old Jack Russell terrier mix had been on Dasuquin Advanced from his veterinarian since he was having some mobility issues – some limping and hip pain. She said that after he finished the prescription Dasuquin Advanced ($90), it would be fine to put him on an over-the-counter supplement.

He did the 6 weeks everyday of Dasuquin Advanced and then every other day for maintenance until he was out. When I was researching what over-the-counter supplement would be good, I came across an article by a veterinarian that went over the ingredients you want and which supplements provide it in an effective form.

The article mentioned the Dasuquin MSM. MSM helps with inflammation, so I thought that would be good if there is some arthritis starting in his joints. We just stuck to the every other day for maintenance and didn’t start over with the 6-8 weeks everyday since he has been moving fine.

He’s been on the Dasaquin MSM for about 2 weeks. His movement is good. He isn’t as stiff when he first gets up. I had told my vet my dog is picky about taste and it has to be chicken flavored since I’ve tried beef and salmon supplements before.

She had found that Dasquin was chicken. My dog eats them. He doesn’t see them as a treat so I don’t just feed it to him. I leave it on a plate and break it up for him along with other treats and he eats it when he feels like it.

He eats it. He never leaves it completely. Taste is good and he’s moving great- so highly recommend.

I had 2 labs that were put on some expensive medication by our vet at age 13, they were 1 year apart. By age 14 each they could no longer stand so they had to be put asleep. Now my mixed beagle/terrier at age 10 started limping real bad and he could always run very fast and jump very high at only 25 lbs.

, not any longer. I checked PetMeds to see what I could find, I got DASUQUIN Soft Chews. He still limped but not so much. I took him to his vet and he was happy with the medicine and told me sense it was helping to continue it but I wanted to make sure he didn’t injure it.

After a few months he wasn’t limping so I stopped medicine. And in 3 days he would start limping so back on the medication. In a week he stopped again, so off the medication. In 3 days back on the medicine and next time off medicine for a week then limped for a few days and able to stop medicine again.

He hasn’t limped sense and that’s been a couple of months now. He’s able to do everything he always did before and you can tell he’s also happy again along with me. I don’t think he would have healed without this medicine.

I’m a 67 widower and I’m sure these are the last 2 dogs I’ll have, I’m so thankful that he’s okay.

This has been a unique terrible experience. I thought that signing up for a subscription would be a quick and cost saving experience but no I was wrong. $26 for 2 day shipping that is not at all 2 days.

I placed an order for kibbles Wednesday evening. The item was shipped Thursday but I won’t be receiving it until next Thursday. It sucks because this was a $98 purchase and my dog will be out of food for an entire week.

I’ll be working on changing his food during this next batch because wow. My dog would be forced to eat boiled chicken and rice which is time consuming and don’t have all the proper nutrients for an entire week.

The food itself is just ok. The shipping is a terrible lie. Canceling the subscription is easy which is why they get a 1 star. I will be switching to Victors atleast there is a store here in LA where I can actually go in and buy it.

Bought this after it was recommended to me by someone who breeds and shows French Bulldogs. She noted that my 12 week old Frenchie’s paws were splaying. We began using it at Week 13. I have had good luck with this product. It is a nickel sized tablet that my German Shepherd puppy takes every day just like a treat. Although it is a solid tablet she has never had any issues chewing it up and seems to like it.

My puppy will eat them, but only with great difficulty. They were rock hard when they arrived. I pre-cut all of them for him and he struggles to chew them up. Definitely not Pet-Tabs. I will not buy these again.

We got our newest pup in the midst of COVID while everything was closed, so we did not get to socialize her nearly as much as we wanted to/should have during her socialization period. Likely because of that, she became scared of every little thing outside of our house, reactive to everything that moved or made noise, would tremble, pant and refuse to even sit during car rides, and was impossible to take for a walk due to her behavior even with months of loose leash R+ only training.

We tried a couple other brands of calm treats as well as CBD oil, which helped a bit, but not like these do. She is 37lbs and I have been giving her 2 a day (1 with breakfast and 1 with dinner) every day for the last month and her attitude and behavior has improved tremendously! This stuff does not knock her out at all, but does make her appear about 200% more carefree.

She listens and offers her attention during walks now and can manage to stay pretty calm when we pass other dogs (unless they lunge/bark first, but even her reaction to that is becoming much more manageable with continued training).

She can lay in the backyard and watch people pass without going nuts. She can even remain quiet but alert when my other dog can’t stop barking at the doorbell. She now lets me pick her up without flailing around and happily licks my face when I hold her instead of stiffening up and staring in any other direction than at me.

She is still not a fan of the car, but she will at least lay down or pop her head out the window and enjoy the smells now. She’s just a whole new pup and I am so grateful to these treats for enabling her to learn to enjoy life instead of fearing it.

We have been trying this product for 3 mo. now, so I feel like I can give an honest review. I have a 14 yr German Shorthair Pointer. He is healthy and ideal weight, so there are no underlying illnesses.

Just aging. For the last year he has been struggling standing up from his bed and his walks were getting shorter. I decided to give this product a try and after about a month and half I noticed one day that he was just popping up out of his bed again.

And he walks the entire block(about a mile) without skipping a beat, plus energy to spare. He has started his zoomies again, although they don’t last as long, but I’ll take it. I feel like years have been added back to his life, so I can’t recommend this product enough.

I followed the dosage as described on the bottle and he is now on one pill a day. He is a picky eater, but he will eat these with no problem, if I break them in half.

I adopted a senior mastiff mix a few months ago, he’s a sweet old dude who was slow to move and get up, wasn’t interested in play. When I took him for his vet visit I was told he had arthritis and that he was probably experiencing aches and stiffness.

Also I thought I might have to hide the tablets in his food, but he eats them like treats, no problem so I guess there’s no bad taste.

Our nine year old rescue Chihuahua has three legs. Because of this, it adds extra strain on his joints. In July 2021, he stopped jumping up on “his” recliner and would occasionally yelp in pain. His veterinarian prescribed Galliprant for pain.

After a family member did some research, we consulted our veterinarian and asked if she thought it would be helpful to try fish oil and Cosequin supplements. She gave us the okay. We started him on Bayer Free Form Snip Tips Fish Oil Capsules (https://www.

chewy. com/free-form-snip-tips-fatty-acid/dp/119277) and Cosequin (https://www. chewy. com/nutramax-cosequin-maximum-strength/dp/163924) on August 9, 2021. Our veterinarian advised us it could take two to three months to notice a difference, if in fact, it was going to help at all.

Our little boy again yelped in pain on August 25, 2021. We gave him a dose of his Galliprant and continued with the supplements. August 25, 2021 (6 months ago) was the last time he yelped in pain and has since resumed jumping up on the recliner.

When it was time to reorder the Bayer SnipTips, we were unable to find them in stock anywhere. We switched to Zesty Paws Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil (https://www. chewy. com/zesty-paws-wild-alaskan-salmon-oil/dp/133660) in December 2021 and our little boy continues to remain pain free.

Since he is doing well on it, we are planning to stay with the Zesty Paws oil since it’s so much easier to use than the Bayer Snip Tips. (just squirt it directly from the pump bottle into food -vs- snipping the tip off the Bayer capsules and getting the oil on our fingers) We are not sure if it’s one or the other supplements that’s helping him or the combination of the two, but we will continue to keep him on both as long as it’s helping.

Note that the Cosequin dosage directions on the bottle advise dogs: 15 pounds and under: HALF a tablet every other day 16-30 pounds: HALF tablet daily 31-60 pounds: 1 tablet daily Over 60 pounds: 1-2 tablets daily.

My senior golden retriever couldn’t get off the floor, his back legs just wouldn’t work one day. I was heartbroken and thought it was the end. (He’s been slowing down and has had difficulty with stairs and a few times his legs have just given out.

) He was finally able to get up and walk a few hours later that evening. I called the vet and scheduled an appointment. I headed to Chewy to see if there was anything we could try that could help my sweet boy.

After I read reviews, I decided to give Cosequin a try. We got the order in 2 days. My dog willingly ate the tablets. I noticed a difference within a day. He was up moving around, wagging his tail and even jumping a bit on his front paws from excitement.

This stuff really seems to help. He’s been taking it for about 2 weeks and was even able to get in the pool and go for a swim, only with a little assistance getting out. This meant a lot to me as he LOVES the water.

Unfortunately, we found out at his vet appointment that our boy is in kidney failure and doesn’t have much time left. But for what it’s worth, the Cosequin is helping him have a better quality of life, he’s able to get around and he’s not in any pain.

At least we can spend his final days with him doing things he loves like going on walks or swimming. It has helped his mobility improve quite a bit, and the vet was ok with it too. Get this for your senior pet, you won’t regret it.

Our 12 Chaweenie was in significant pain from a patella / Hip injury, and age. She was no longer able to take walks and was putting on weight making her limping worse. I decided to try a joint supplement.

She is like a new dog! And another benefit is that her being more active around the house and now going on walks again has allowed her to lose weight (which undoubtedly helps reduce the stress on her hips and knees and also improves her quality of life).

This product outperformed all of my expectations and I recommend it 100%! Buy it sooner than later and allow your pup to enjoy being more active!.

The Cosequin arrived within two days of my ordering it. I’m giving it to my Chihuahua on vet advice to strengthen cartilage in his trachea to improve his cough due to trachea collapse. The label says it may take up to six weeks to see an improvement.

Even though it’s only been about two weeks, his coughs seem a little softer and maybe not quite as often. I do expect the Cosequin to help more as time goes on because a friend who has given it to her Chihuahua for joint pain for about a year says her dog has not had any painful episodes since about a month after he started taking it.

My dog doesn’t like the taste of Cosequin so I crumble it into canned food and he takes it just fine. The dosage is written on the bottle and my vet said to be very careful with giving the correct dose and to give it with food so it doesn’t cause stomach upset.

I would recommend this product if your vet advises it. The price is a great value towards improvement in your pet’s health.

OK, having worked in the veterinary field for 23 years, I KNOW Cosequin and Dasuquin are exceptional products, testing to consistently have the level of glucosamine shown on the label. I KNOW and have SEEN the improvement in other dogs I’ve owned.

But I now have a super picky pill taster, that is NOT food motivated, and HATES the beefy flavor of Dasuquin so I tried Cosequin. Well, he doesn’t care for the flavor here, either BUT he doesn’t hate it and I can mix it into a bit of canned food and he’ll eat it.

Truly, it would be easier if it was in a hard pill form and I thought that’s what I had ordered. I think the smell of medicine is his turn off, not the flavor itself, due to the numerous meds he had to take before and after his bilateral shoulder surgery.

Prior to that he took meds fine. Cosequin’s pill is chewable and soft enough to easily break up and mix into food. So, although my dog doesn’t readily take it, I cannot blame the Cosequin. The neighbor’s dog LOVES it.

It’s MY dog that has the issue! PROVEN Good and effective for joint health.

*I received this product as part of a free sample program. I own two Shelties – Willow is ten years old and Merlin is six. These chews have been beneficial to each of them in different ways. Merlin has not shown any signs of seasonal allergies in the time I have owned him.

However, he is prone to cystitis and digestive issues. The Allergy Support chews have helped him have fewer bathroom emergencies and the Omegas help to make his coat much softer and easier to groom. Willow has often gotten the “sneezies” after playing outdoors with her brother.

Although I have not been using these chews for a lengthy time, whilst she has been on them, she has had no sneezing episodes after playing in the autumn leaves. Another great thing is the softness of the chews.

Willow has some issues with trying to eat things that are hard as some supplement tablets are. She also is very very picky about what she will eat. These chews break easily, they are “bendy” and indeed chewy.

Merlin will eat anything, so that is never a problem with him, but to see Willow happy chewing these up is somewhat of a miracle. I’m looking forward to continuing to use Allergy Support chews as they have thus far been beneficial to both my furkids.

I just wrote out strengths of ingredients between Prosense Vitamin Solutions, Pet Naturals of Vermont & the pricier Health Extension vitamins. This vitamin has highest mg’s with 0 mcg’s (even lesser strength) ingredients than the other 2 brands.

For the $ this brand is your best bet. I also compared their joint supplements vis-a-vis other well known & pricier brands and this company has equal or better ingredients & strengths than the majority hands down.

I rescue & have 8 dogs now getting older & with health issues so value & price are important but their health Is tantamount. I have switched from Glycoflex & Zesty Paws to this brand for vitamins & joint supplements.

I ordered 2 of these Thanksgiving morning! I chatted, online, with a woman from Chewy. com. asked her to please get these out to me as quickly as possible. She explained to me that Fed Ex was closed the next 2 days, so I just asked her to please get them to me by Monday, if possible.

I waited to write this review but I’m almost done with my first bottle. I have a 4 year old Maltipoo and he loves these! He thinks they’re treats. He is 13 lbs and we give him 1 a day. We’ve combined these vitamins with another Hemp Allergy Aid.

It has helped a lot with his seasonal allergies and some other skin ailments. In the (almost) 3 months that we started giving him these tablets, his skin condition has significantly improved, he licks his paws a lot less, and has stopped incessantly itching.

I’m really grateful for that, especially at such a low price.
