20 Best Vitamins For Fingernails (2022 Updated)

I have used a lot of Natures Bounty products throughout the years, and have always been happy with their products. I cant say how these gummies WORK because I have such a hard time actually EATING them.

1st – they are ALL stuck together in the container, and you have to use a knife to get them out. 2nd- (IM SORRY FOR TMI HERE) but they actually LOOK LIKE SKIN. they are this light pink-tan color, & SO WRINKLY.

I have never seen anything LOOK this much like REAL skin. 3rd- I personally really don’t care for the “strawberry” smell. The strawberry taste is OK, if you can get past the way it looks & actually eat it.

the smell is def. worse than the taste but still – GROSS. I would like to note that I am UNSURE what these gummies SHOULD look like. Online the only pictures I could find of these were from 2018 or earlier,& back then they were little round perfect gummies.

that is NOT what mine looked like. I don’t know if mine are messed up, or if that’s just how they look but YUCK.

I have been taking biotin in some form for quite a while but recently had the opportunity to try the Nature Made Hair Skin Nails Biotin supplement. I think it is an excellent supplement. The softgels tablets are small, and very easy to swallow.

They are gluten free and don’t contain any artificial flavors. And what I love the most is that they not only contain 2500mcg of biotin but also Vitamin, A, Vitamin C, Zinc, and Copper. All these supplements combine to make a supplement I enjoy taking every day.

I really like the Nature Made Hair, Skin & Nails supplement. The product comes in a sealed, easy to open bottle, with a dispenser on the top, and contains 60 softgels. The softgel form is very easy to take, and you just take one a day with water and a meal.

I like how the product is formulated with 2500 mcg of Biotin, which may helps support healthy hair, nails, and skin. Also included is Vitamin A, C, and Zinc. I experience no aftertaste with the product, and looking forward to seeing if the product helps my hair and nails.

Anything “Nature Made” is your best bet in the world of unregulated supplements, as they are certified and recommended. That said, and I just learned this, when using “biotin” in any vitamin/supplement – be sure if you are getting a blood test to STOP taking anything that contains biotin when getting bloodtests – because it can “affect results” of same.

I’ve heard about 1 week prior to a bloodtest, stop the biotin. I was only recently told this by a PC dr. that is diligent, never by any previous ones, and had to run across this info by accident in a good credible medical article I happened to read.

And the info has been out for EONS. And even the blood labs, neglect to ask or mention this.

I have a mitochondrial disease that can only be treated with certain supplements. I was always skeptical of the effects of taking vitamins to make nails and hair grow, but this one had all of the other ingredients in the cocktail recommended for my disease (not that I’m recommending self-treatment! Talk to your doctor first! No doctors treat my condition, they only recommended specific supplements).

I can report that this stuff actually did everything it promises! Much to my surprise. My right index fingernail and thumbnail have always (like, ALWAYS) been paper thin and short. So thin they were painful.

I assumed it was bc it’s my dominant hand? After about 3 months of taking these, suddenly ALL of my nails are crazy long and practically unbreakable, and for the first time in my entire 42 years, my right nails are long and no longer thin, they’re like all my other nails.

They’re so long I’m having to trim them (all of them) bc they don’t even chip or break like they used to. I can’t say much about hair, I think those effects might take longer to notice, though I have noticed I’m shedding less, but that could be due to natural hair phases.

If you’re looking for a product that has it all and can help improve your nails, this is the one. And it’s so affordable—you really don’t have to spend $50 bucks for basic vitamins. Very cheap yet reliable treatment for my very rare condition with bonus effects.

I waited a month after beginning to use these so I could give a fair evaluation – do they work or not? They do. My nails are much stronger than they were before starting to take these capsules and don’t break anymore.

My skin and hair were already in excellent condition so I can’t say whether they’ve helped with that, but I’m going to keep taking them and I guess I’ll find out if they actually improve my hair and skin.

I gave a 4-star because theses capsules have an awful, and I do mean awful, smell; I opened the bottle and almost gagged. But if you can get past that, try ’em. The price is low so of you don’t like them, you’re not out much money but I’d also say give it a full month to see if they work for you or not.

I am borderline obsessed with taking vitamins and minerals for better health. I have a lot of autoimmune diseases so I try and do what I can. I have been taking biotin and collagen separately for awhile now.

I found this and decided to buy it. Not only does it contain biotin and collagen but it also contains hyaluronic acid, Argan oil and coconut oil. One serving is 3 pills per day. The bottle lasts for a month taking it as directed.

In today’s world, where those of us who are interested in vitamins are constantly having mega-doses pushed on us, I’m grateful to Vitamin Shoppe for producing a moderate dose of Biotin. I hesitated for a number of days about buying this product, though, because, to buy 300 capsules all at once seemed to be to make an enormous commitment! Earlier on, being tired of sweeping up piles of my own hairs every time I swept my floors, I decided to look into Biotin as a remedy – but, in my local pharmacy, they pushed 5000 mcg tablets on me! I tried one with breakfast one morning, and found it made me terribly dizzy.

Then, I tried taking half of a tablet with dinner one evening – but that left me with severe stomach pains & resulting sleeplessness. I did notice, though, that I lost fewer hairs than usual that week – but the effect only lasted 7-10 days.

So I realized I needed to keep taking Biotin, but in much smaller doses. So far, these capsules are working fine.

I have been taking this for about 6 months. I also have been taking other supplements. I am not sure that l0,000 mcg is the right dosage for me. I am having very strong smelling urine and not urinating enough for the amount of bottled water and other liquids I am drinking.

I am going to eliminate one supplement at a time on a daily basis and find out what is causing this urination problem. I don’t want to get kidney disease from taking too many supplements. I don’t have access to a nutrition expert.

I mostly use WebMD. They say check with your Dr. mostly. I am trying to get healthy, but I really think I have to be careful. I Do Have To Say. MY HAIR, NAILS and SKIN look better. I am an elderly person.

I eat really well. Lots of Fruits and Vegetables. even raw! My poop is great, but this urination problem is scary!!!.

My natural hair is always braided up and I usually where extensions over it so that I can grow my hair out. I’ve been taking biotin off and on (mostly because I forget sometimes), but lately I have been trying to keep up with it and the results are fantastic! Whenever I remove my hair extentions and unbraid my natural hair, I see new growth between 2-3 inches long and it seems to work really fast.

I have only been taking this product for a week but feel I have already seen a change & worth writing a review. I my hair is feeling softner & has more shine (I did not have hair concerns before so this has only made my good hair even better).

Research the forms of each vitamin. That makes all the difference. This is affordable and has the best forms of vitamins at a decent price. There is a mint taste to mask the typical vitamin taste. It doesn’t bother me, but I’m not pregnant yet either.

So I’m hoping it won’t bother me when I am. I also like that these are capsules and not tablets.

I would give this higher stars for the good ingredients and idea behind this product if it were executed better but as far as flavor, I would honestly rate it 2 stars or less. I actually enjoy the flavor of high quality spirulina; it`s sweet and nutty.

I also enjoy the very mild taste of good quality collagen! I figured combining them would not only taste decent but be a great nutritional supplement. Unfortunately, this DOESN`T taste good and I think that`s because this has equal parts digestive enzymes as it does spirulina and boy, can you taste those enzymes! (Enzymes have a slight tart/sour, bitter, bile-like taste.

) Spirulina is an extremely easy to digest food on an empty stomach and collagen is usually easily digested as well for most people (if it`s not combined with a lot of other foods). While I`m all for digestive enzymes to aid in assimilation of nutrients, I`m not sure they needed to be added to this particular product unless you`re taking this with a full meal.

As you can see from the powder color (grayish-white), this has only trace amounts of spirulina, 50 mgs to be exact, which is not enough to provide any benefits. (50 mgs is a scant 5% of a single gram and you really need at least 5 grams and up of spirulina to really start getting appreciable nutrients from it.

)If this had a higher ratio of spirulina, not only would this bump up the actual nutritional punch per serving, it would likely taste a tad better and mask those digestive enzymes. I do appreciate that the company used organic spirulina, though, because spirulina is a very dirty product otherwise.

I also sense, based solely on taste and texture, that they didn`t use the highest quality collagen either. I find I almost crave good collagen and want it`s flavor but not this stuff. My body has a low-key desire to reject it from my mouth.

But again, that could be the enzymes. I love what the company was TRYING to do with this product but. I`m finding it hard to get down.

I use collagen daily, either in my tea or baked into my dry goods. I like Codeage or BioOptimal since they come from different sources and have different types. This doesn`t say what type of collagen it is (although in a question they say grass fed bovine) and there is no ingredient list.

That alone sets off a lot of bells and whistles. I was hesitant to try it at first but decided that if worst came to worst, I would choke it down and move on. This collagen does have a slight green/meat odor when opened.

It was not enough to put me off of using it, but it is there. I didn`t have success mixing into cold drinks, the directions say to mix it into warm drinks and then add ice and that is certainly what I would do.

Mixing it into warm drinks it is not any worse or better than other collagens I tried. I mixed it in with a fork which I used to mash any clumps. This did change the flavor of my drinks — overpowering light herbal teas with the spirulina.

I found it works much better in matcha, black tea or coffee. I like that this contains digestive enzymes, although I can`t say that it helped my stomach or digestion in any way. I don`t normally have tummy upset from collagen and this product wasn`t any different than the others.

This is non gmo, soy free, gluten free and no sugar added. My only other real issue aside from the labeling is with the price. It is less collagen per scoop (7. 5g vs 9g), yet it is priced higher. (Currently Codeage is $1.

75/oz, BioOptimal is $1. 62, while this is $2. 74/oz. ) Yes, it does include the enzymes and the spirulina. You need to decide if that is worth the increase in price.

I like Naturelo because it is a food-based line. It is a comfort to know that I am not consuming some manufactured, unnatural compound. In my research of hair, skin, and nail supplements, I notice ingredients in this one that are not available in most of the others, and those are Vitamin A, collagen, coconut oil, and fish oil.

Even though all of these elements are helpful in the support of skin, they are not commonly found in a single place, so I like that. I can`t say that I saw any difference in my skin while taking this, as I have always taken care of it and it looks good; I`m sure it`s helping, nonetheless.

I didn`t see any difference with nail growth either, which is a challenge for me anyway; I think I need to try it longer and the representative from Naturelo confirmed this. They have excellent communication, by the way.

I’ve been using this product for several years. I like it and it makes my hair stronger snd shiny. I bite my nails so I don’t notice a change in my nails. But my skin seems to look better and not so dry.

I would recommend this product to my friends and to my family. I actually did. It’s priced fairly.

I’ve tried a few different brands of Biotin. I have thin, fine hair that gets tangled easily, oily easily, and weighed down from like anything. My hair does whatever it wants. Lately, I my hair has been very weird, I’m sure it’s changing now since I’m getting older.

(I will be 30 soon. ) You know the type of hair I have now, these are the weird changes I had before I started taking Biotin: I was losing a lot of hair in the shower, and I mean a LOT. I thought it was stress related.

I would get to the point that I would brush my hair out before I shower. Then I had to spend a good amount of time trying to wash it, often times my hair was very stringy feeling while washing. I use good (expensive) shampoo and condition it as needed (again, thin oily hair.

) My hair would get VERY tangled and knotted in the shower. Then after my shower I would have to spend about 20 minutes alone trying to comb the knots out, playing with leave in conditioner. My hair was an *effing work out and I dreaded every time I had to wash it.

Back to Biotin. I’ve taken a few different brands and they just never really did anything for me. I started taking this one and had no changes and was irritated because I spent money on two bottles (because of the other ingredients and I ditched another supplement that I was taking before it.

) I started taking it on November 12, 2020 and it’s been one full month now and I did not notice any change whatsoever until today. Again, I was dreading washing my hair. The first thing I noticed today was that when I brushed my hair before my shower, I didn’t have a bunch of hair coming out on my brush (other than just regular loose hairs.

) The second thing was that when I was washing my hair in the shower today, it did not feel stringy (did not change shampoo, diet, water intake, vitamins, nothing at all different) and when I rung it out, I barely had any loose hairs come out while showering.

Then after that, I was ready to put up a fight (as always) and get the leave in conditioner out. But when I started coming, it literally just all of a sudden did not put up a fight. No leave in conditioner needed today!! My hair air dried.

I waited to see if it would start having that “dried fluff” look at the bottom half that typically happens when I don’t constantly brush it out all day. I only had to brush it twice. Every time I run to the restroom, my hair has streaks of shine! It doesn’t look weighed down or fluffy like my weird hair type gets! I take other medicine and vitamins and already know sometimes you just need to give it a few weeks before you see any results.

Today is December 12, exactly a month later. At this point, that weird, crazy hair period this year seems to be done. I’m glad I worked through the disappointment I had at first and gave it some time.

These work!! I wish I did a before and after picture to share. But maybe the review will help someone with the same (or similar) weird hair type I have. Before you get disappointed, just give it one full month at least.

I spent around a week painstakingly searching for the best supplement to take, based on facts and comparisons to other products, by people who had no stake in their success. And this was the one I finally wound up with! so if someone else is out there going deep down the keratin / biotin wormhole like I did, maybe I can save you a little bit of trouble by putting my informed vote in for this one.

I’ve had no negative side effects so far, internally or externally. The pills are big but they’re capsules, which makes them easier to swallow, and they’re not as big as the omega supplements I take.

Based on my experience so far, I’m going to keep getting these for the foreseeable future!.

Update- 12/16/2020 I’m almost through my second bottle. My hair definitely feels thicker, and I have less fall out. My hair used to be so nice and thick, really beautiful. I believe some extremely stressful life events were to blame for the significant thinning I really like these supplements.

I will absolutely continue to use these. And I will reiterate that I still can’t find a comparable product containing all 3 biotin, collagen and keratin in one. I do feel a difference in my hair after a month of use.

What I like best is that it’s biotin, collagen and keratin all in one pill which I have difficulty finding anywhere else.

I have been using Matrix Plus 3000 for several months and can definitely see a HUGE improvement in my nails. As we get older, our nails get dry, get ridges and break easily. My nails are so strong now that I have to actually cut them.

I bought some for my 85 year old mother and she can see a difference too. Taking this supplement and using Elon’s Nail Conditioner has worked wonders to give me back strong healthy nails.

I like that the product has only a slight smell as fragrance is a migraine trigger for me.

I’ve always had a nail that split vertically whenever it grew past the nail bed. It always caught on things so I had to keep it filed to the quick. I started taking the nail supplement and using the cuticle cream, and after the new growth using those, the nail is not splitting.

I’ve tried several nail treatments and many gave them strength, but this is the only one that fixed the split nail. I’m a user for life!.

Remember that it does take a few months to be effective, depending on where you are in the hair growth cycle; however this product is very good! The formula provides the necessary ingredients (esp B iotin) and it is suitible for Vegetarians.

It should Not be changed! NOTE TO PP: If a product contains gelatin, it It is NOT VEGETARIAN and definitely not vegan.

This is an excellent product! I rarely write reviews for supplements because unless I see a spectacular difference it is really hard to tell how well they are working. However, I see the difference this product is making particularly in my nails.

At one time ALL were peeling off layers of nail. Adding nail polish or “hardener” only made them worse. But now I am able to wear polish and not have peeling and they are stronger than ever before. I’m delighted! As for my hair, the difference is not as spectacular but I do see much less hair in the shower drain and I am very grateful for that improvement.

The bonus to this product is that all the goodness is in ONE PILL that slides down easily!.

I’ve been using for 3 years. I like the quick dissolve. I keep a bottle on my office desk and at home. Great taste. I went and had my nails done last week and she couldn’t believe my nails were real.

I read the reviews for this before buying it. I read them all, the 1* reviews as well. I am about 3 weeks in and I have NOT experienced ANY stomach/kidney/liver or other issues and I suffer from GI issues and am under the care of a GI doctor already.

I haven’t experienced any negative anything. As far was this biotin being of an extremely high dosage, my female socialist, GP, and GI doctor all recommend this dosage and 2 recommend this particular brand.

So, I guess depending on your needs, this may be too high. I have weak fingernails in the dead of winter and edure the dry frigid temps Nebraska dishes out. I take a biotin supplement every winter. This is the first time taking this one because in addition to my weak nails I have started loosing some hair.

The doctors can’t find a reason why, with could just be the fact I turned 40 last fall. Although, the hair loss was abrupt, like 30% of my thick, full head of hair in less than 3 months. The hair loss has practically stopped since starting this.

I also have peach fuzz even coming in the “bald’ patches. My nails are stronger, a healthy strong, and no longer breaking, peeling, or nicking. My skin is, with the aid of some Hempz Triple Moisture and Age Defying lotions, is looking quite nice.

Generally, I don’t write reviews but I don’t want any to go through the scare that I went through or waste their money as I have. I read the first page of reviews regarding this product which all sounded great so I ordered it and I started taking this product without thinking there would be any side effects because Biotin is harmless, it’s good for you but after taking it for almost 2 months, I ended up in the hospital.

I was having tingling sensations (almost as if your hand and feet are asleep) and I had major headaches to the point where I couldn’t lift my head. I thought it was just another migraine which I get maybe once or twice a year.

I didn’t think anything of it at first but it started to become more frequent, stronger and spreading throughout my body; mainly the left-hand side. When my face started, I knew something was wrong. The Doctor thought I may be having a stroke or possibly an aneurysm.

When that was ruled out, they thought it was just migraines and stress. After a series of tests and medicines I had to write down all the vitamins and medications I was taking. I reread the label and realized that this has RICE FLOUR (ARSENIC) in it!! I also went back on Website, sorted reviews to less than 1 star and read that someone else started having joint pain, etc.

possible side effects from this. I immediately stopped taking this product and within 3 days my symptoms eased up and at the end of the week, they didn’t exist! Please, please be careful. I didn’t ask for a refund or anything, I just wanted to put it out there.

I am saying this is what happened to ME it may not happen to everyone, it may be a great product but this was my reaction to it.

I received a bottle for free and decided to try them. They tasted good, so when I saw they were half-off a couple weeks later, I bought them again. I took a progress picture at the end of my second bottle (so 2 months later) and the bald spots I had on each corner of my forehead were at LEAST 50% covered!! I’m about to purchase my fifth bottle and the coverage I have in those spots now is UNREAL.

I have a small cherry angioma in one of those spots and the hair growth I got from these actually hides the bright red color – it’s grown in THAT much. I’ve also been growing out my eyebrows and started grandebrow (ALSO AMAZING), and with regular use of that and taking these gummies, they are out of control!! I have been dying for new growth like this on both my brows and balding spots and nothing else worked (castor oil, biotin supplements, nioxin & bosley shampoos/conditioners).

My nails are also super strong now! I can actually keep some length on them without them breaking off. Highly recommend, as long as you’re willing to stick with them because it does take some time to see a difference!.

Ive been thinking about writing this review all week and decided to because I work in the health supplement world and know how much a testimony means. I’ve been taking the Balanced Beauty Gummies now for about 7 weeks and I’m amazed.

I’m going to start off with the bad (don’t worry, the good is coming). The biotin is making me break out. But it’s he most common symptom that comes with Biotin. Anyone in the beauty world knows this is a possibility.

I’ve taken Biotin numerous times in the past so this did not come as a surprise to me. The acne is not unmanageable, its actually random places like the hairline on my neck and my chest, which I’ve never had before.

My face is still completely clear, but for some reason it’s targeting my hairline. It’s not ideal, but hoping it will pass because I’m amazed at everything else these gummies have done for me. Now the good! I’ve had bumpy thumb nails my entire life.

its like nothing was ever there. It’s really mind blowing. I would typically never believe that something like a gummy supplement would be able to fix these long terms flaws I’ve learned to live with, but there is truly NOTHING else that I have changed in my daily routine besides taking these.

I’ve never gone out of my way to write a review or send a company a message but I really thought this needed to be heard. Hoping that the acne subsides because these things really do work wonders. They might not be best for you if acne is already a struggle for you, but that aside, I cant praise this product enough.

I was able to purchase these vitamins during a Boxycharm Pop-Up event for a significant discount. I have been trying various biotin gummy vitamins and decided to give these a try due to the steep discount.

At first, I honestly thought these gummies had a very disgusting flavor, I just was not a fan of it. After about a week of taking them though, the taste grew on me. I never ended up loving the flavor, but I could stand it.

The vitamins themselves worked wonders for my hair though! I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis this last December, and have had some issues with hair loss. Out of all the biotin and hair vitamins I’ve tried these have worked the best for me.

I saw the least amount of hair loss while using these, and my acne improved a bit as well, and this was only with a month’s supply. My biggest issue is the price of these vitamins. Their regular price is $30 a bottle on Ulta, and that just seems excessive to me.

I spend a lot of money on vitamins now due to my disease, and can’t really afford that much for just one vitamin. If I can’t find anything better I might end up buckling though and paying their spendy price.
