20 Best Vitamix For Smoothies (2022 Updated)

The “5200 Standard – Getting Started” Vitamix seemed to be a good fit for me as someone who only occasionally needs a blender but as such wants a single tool that can handle all of my blending needs and is reliable and durable.

Having owned the blender for a couple of months now, I have used it for a variety of things that intentionally span the gamut of the most severe challenges I expect to use my Vitamix for including making cold drinks (i.

e. blending ice), making nut butter, and making fruit purees (i. e. blending prunes) along with several other less challenging uses (making soup, batter prep, etc. ). This blender meets my needs by providing basic functionality and achieving results that I am looking for.

It is easy to clean and easy to use. As far as durability/reliability, only time will tell. This Vitamix serves as a replacement for another Vitamix blender, which was very similar and was purchased a decade ago.

While that blender still operates, upon starting the motor (at low speed), the motor “jumps” to a high speed for a brief second before engaging at a low speed. This doesn’t render the blender unusable, but especially in certain circumstances, the resistance of the contents is too great for the motor to jump to such a high speed and the circuit breaker trips.

Although I cannot remember exactly when this behavior started, I have speculated that I may have done something to marginally overload the motor at some point. With the new blender, I am trying to be more conscious to follow recommendations regarding what order to add the types of contents and other practices as recommended in the user manual.

The need to be cautious about these things is why I currently rate this as a 4 star product. If after a couple of years, the blender is running like new and demonstrates that it does not need to be handled with “baby gloves”, then I expect I would consider it a 5 star product.

I’ve had my Reconditioned Standard Vitamix since around 2015, and there’s just no other word for it than ‘game changer’. There’s no evident difference between Reconditioned and New, by the way–spotless unused carafe, tamper, everything else.

This blender is incredible. It can chop tomatoes. It can shred (cooked) chicken. It makes nut milk and tahini. It can blend a whole winter squash (cook it in a pressure cooker, then scoop seeds and all out of the rind, and add some stock) into a smooth soup.

It makes kale smoothies and v8 juice and sorbet and mixed drinks. The only even slightly frustrating experience I’ve had was trying to make mayonnaise, and I’m sure that was my fault, since my partner can get it to work just fine.

If you’re on the fence, save up and get one, you won’t regret it.

There is no question that the 5200 is a powerful blender. It’s definitely a step up for our smoothies; it pulverizes anything, even seeds, and produces a smooth texture that is a pleasure to drink. What we wonder about is the tamper, and the need for it.

Maybe it’s a carafe design thing? Our previous blender (mid-level Breville star performer) had an ingenious bowl-shaped carafe. This kept air pockets from forming. You never (hardly ever) had to stop the blending to expel the air pocket around the blades.

With the 5200, despite the narrow, squared carafe bottom, we are constantly fighting the development of the air pocket around the blades. We use the tamper, which is smartly designed to never touch the blades, all the time.

But even that often doesn’t work, and the air pocket forms again instantly. Are we doing something wrong? We’ve added more liquid, less solids. We’ve varied the way we increase the blending speed, quickly or slowly, and still: the air pocket forms around the blades and only the bottom part of the smoothie gets blended until we jam away at it with the tamper.

(Plus, the unit should come with a Tamper Holder, so the tamper is not just laying on the counter when not in use. Why not?) So, we fight the air pocket every time (why?), and we struggle to find a place to store the tamper, but other than that we’re making some excellent smoothies, and the 5200 is a powerful and capable blender!.

I am a repeat Vita Mix customer going back over 30 years. This is my fourth (and probably last) Vita Mix, and it is the only one I have been unhappy with. I bought this A2300 a couple years ago, and like the others, it is built like a truck and should last longer than I will.

So what is the problem? First, the 64 ounce container that comes with the blender is enormous and too big for 99 percent of what we would use it for. There is no option to choose a smaller container without spending hundreds of dollars more.

I never thought Vita Mix was that kind of company, but it seems to have fallen in line with the idea that businesses need to milk their customers in order to succeed. Sad. But I would only subtract one or two stars for that.

What has really motivated me to write this review is the nightmare self detect “feature. ” We bought the smoothie bowl and base, which is not cheap by any means. It has become almost impossible to use, because the base fails to detect the bowl 90 percent of the time.

The only way to get it to detect is by closing it insanely tight which makes it difficult to open back up. I’m not a weak person. This is not how an expensive product like this should work. You can buy a perfectly adequate smoothie blender for less than the cost of the smoothie cup alone.

It should work, but it doesn’t. I have searched far and wide for some kind of solution, without success. This is a known problem (read the Amazon reviews) so it puzzles me that Vita Mix has nothing in its support pages about this.

(The FAQs are useless, they read more like advertisements than help information. ) I can make the problem go away by removing the red rubber gasket. I’ve only done this with an empty container, as I have no interest in spraying my kitchen with the liquid in the container.

But this shows that the problem is getting the metal strips embedded in the bowl close enough to the base, which is why over tightening works. The weird thing is that the base detects my 64 ounce container when it is still a couple of inches from the machine.

Apart from all the problems it is giving me, the self detect feature strikes me as more of a gimmick than a useful feature, especially with the 2300 which has no programs and there is just nothing for the machine to detect that would make any difference in how the machine operates.

As mentioned at the beginning of the review, the machine is heavy duty and isn’t going to fall apart any time soon. If the bugs that I have encountered don’t matter to you, then there is no reason not to buy it, but it has been largely a waste of money for us.

I purchased the 2300 because I was excited at using it with the Vitamix Food Processor attachment, too. My old food processor was not doing so well, and I was impressed with the solid build and quality of Vitamix products.

So I was predisposed to really like this product. I did enjoy having a count-up timer right in front of me, and I also appreciated that the shorter container would have fit under the cabinet, if I stored it there.

Unfortunately, there were several differences from my old Vitamix 5200 that led me to return it. First, whenever I started blending something, the entire thing would explode upward and coat the inside of the container all the way up to the lid.

This meant that I had to scrape it down to get everything mixed, and the lid would drip mess everywhere. Moreover, the new tamper (which feels like cheaper plastic than the old tamper design) didn’t have any disk-shaped piece near the handle to block that gush of food from splashing out of the top opening.

And finally, the lid has clips made from the same, very sturdy plastic, which means that the clips are very hard to undo, and I worry that with time they’ll just crack from the stress. Ultimately, I decided to return it and stick with my old, taller, narrower blender with the rubber lid and well-designed tamper.

I’ve only had this a few days but see some clear differences between models and brands. Six years ago I was looking for a blender, primarily for smoothies. I tried the Vitamix S30, which I really wanted to love, but it didn’t blend well.

I ended up buying the Ninja Professional Plus. Worked great, but so loud I would turn the button on and run to the other room. This year, after a bad experience with another Ninja product, we decided to get a Vitamix.

We tried the Explorian 320 and switched to the Ascent 2300. Both were big box packages including personal cups. The Ascent also had a dry grain container. Both make great smoothies, just a question of which attachments you want and whether the personal cup adapter works for you vs.

the self detect cups. Found both a little fiddly in their own way with the personal cups, and both were equally loud (but way quieter, esp on low speed, than the Ninja, and the smoothies are smoother).

Minus one star because it’s expensive and all the little variations with $50 more for this or that feature are annoying. BTW without the long warranty, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable spending this much on a blender.

I love this and it’s one of my favourite kitchen appliances now. I bought this a few months ago now and waited to give a review until I had tried it many times. I’ve made a ton of things with this and everything comes out just perfect.

For years I felt like I deserved a nicer blender that didn’t leave clumps in my smoothies. This is it!! It’s really, really powerful and very easy to use and clean. I do have a couple of complaints/things that would have made me think twice about buying if I knew them: 1) It gets loud, like really loud.

It’s potent so it makes sense. So if you want to make a smoothie at 7am, or while your baby naps, maybe this isn’t for you. 2) It’s impossible to make small quantities of food. I tried making just about 1 cup of vegan mayo and it just wouldn’t work.

The blades are quite high up and anything under them sort of lays low unless there’s more food/liquid in to help create that vortex. That really bummed me out because I wanted to have a great piece of equipment that could do it all.

I thought of getting the personal cup adapter but that has terrible reviews, so that leaves me with the sad realisation that I’ll need another appliance when I already spent enough on this one. 3) Some smaller foods get trapped under the blades while blending, making it get stuck and make scary sounds!! It’s happened with some nuts or sesame seeds.

It’s really annoying. 4) I said cleaning it was a breeze and it is. But removing foods isn’t as easy. A lot of it stays at the bottom under the blade. Knowing that, they made the “under blade scraper” and I think I’ll have to get that because I don’t feel comfortable using anything else, and nothing would work as well under the blades! 5) This one’s to be expected but it chars and the manual tells you right away.

When blending nuts, seeds, etc, it may scratch the inside of the blender. It’s not a big deal for me. It doesn’t look like it’ll break and I’ve put in frozen foods, ice, etc, it’s pretty sturdy. All in all, I love it, I’d buy it again, but I thought those are things I might have wanted to read before buying!.

I can’t sing the praises of this blender enough. I make a LOT of smoothies, and I’ve always wanted a Vitamix. I was so excited when I received this one as a Christmas gift one year. They are pricy, but believe me when I say that they are worth every penny.

I’ve had mine for 3 years and still use it at least 5 times a week. I have made smoothies, soups, juice, smoothie bowls, hummus, almond butter and more. I can really tell the difference between the power of this blender and other ones I’ve tried.

When I look up recipes online for smoothie bowls, almond butter etc. , there are always reviews talking about how the recipe was gritty or didn’t mix properly, and it always boils down to the blender.

Just the other day I made a chocolate chia pudding that I saw on TikTok and it was so good. A lot of the comments were saying that it came out gritty, but mine was super smooth. I could go on about the Vitamix all day, but I’ll wrap it up by saying that if you buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

They also have a crazy warranty period and an arsenal of replacement parts if you should ever need them. I recommend checking Costco as you can score one for a good price there.

Vitamix blenders are the only way to go in any commercial or heavy home use kitchen. Our restaurant offers 4 health-smart smoothies every morning, and the Vitamix is the only blender that smoothly blends fiberous ingredients such as ginger root, tumeric, and pineapple.

We opted for the 3. 3hp “commercial” blender because of it’s constant use. We also use them in processing sauces, dressing and other marinades. I really like that you can get extra or replacement pitchers incase one is not enough or they break if dropped frequently.

Just a couple of areas of concern. First, I was disappointed that the unit was so lightweight – even the container is lightweight. Not what I would have expected for a durable, high quality commercial product.

Consequently, when you start a blend, the whole unit starts to move and you need to hold onto it so it doesn’t leave the counter. Secondly, once the ingredients are mixed together, it takes a long time for the whole mixture to start blending at full speed, i.

e. it is blending at the bottom and it takes a while to reach the top – much longer than other blenders I have used. I will say, however, that once the job is done, I have no complaints about the finished product.

I just had higher expectations from a commercial unit. I do kind of regret getting it.

I have several Vitamix blenders for my smoothie shop, home and Farmer’s Merket booth. They all have been working for years and I love them. They are reliable, make great drinks and we have had no issues after thousands of drinks with any of them breaking or wearing out.

I recently added this blender to our store and LOVE IT! It makes the drinks smooth, fluffy and perfectly textured! Our smoothie menu at my store has more than 20 drinks and we use a large variety of fresh and frozen fruits, veggies and ice.

This blender can handle them all! It’s noisy but our customers don’t care. We blend the drinks on low for a minute and then finish on high for a couple sendings to but down on the noise and it makes a prefect drink!.

I was so excited when this blender finally arrived!! Once it was set up on my counter I decided to make a smoothie! Every day since 2014, I’ve used my Vitamix professional series 300 to make my breakfast smoothie.

It’s so loud!! Loud like having to use earplugs, loud. Hence, purchasing, The Quiet One. Once all the ingredients were added to the canister, I popped the cover on, closed the hood, then started it. Definitely was very impressed with the reduction of noise, but the contents kept spraying out of the top of the cover.

I thought at first maybe I didn’t have the clear plug thingy locked in tight enough, but nope. Every. Single. Morning. Cleanup is annoying when you have to continually wipe down inside the hood, and a complete hassle to have to remove it for a thorough cleaning.

You’d think for the price of the unit, that wouldn’t happen. Would I purchase it again? Probably not. Very disappointing. ***This is totally a Vitamix issue, not Chef Equipment***.

We’ve used this blender for nearly 4 years, really great but “quiet” is a relative term I suppose. It’s much quieter than the other Vitamix blenders without an enclosure. However, we have another brand in another location, and it’s probably 20% of the noise output of the Vitamix.

So if you need the quietest possible available blender, the Vitamix isn’t it. But it has been a workhorse nonetheless. We have blended thousands and thousands of cycles and not a single failure. It does disassemble to clean, which is useful; however, again in comparison with the the other brand equivalent, it’s much more complicated.

Replacement parts are more widely available for the Vitamix, even though we’ve never needed it serviced (the other brand really can only be serviced by the factory, which is not ideal; however, it hasn’t ever failed either).

Overall, a great blender, and quieter than a standard blender, but could be quieter.

This blender has the great Vitamix power, but it has not been quiet a day in its life! It sounds like a power tool. I have a Blendtec quiet blender which although not as powerfuI, whips up a smoothie just fine, and is many times more quiet than the Vitamix.

I can’t add dry ingredients through the top like the old models because smoothie splashes out if you take the top piece off. It definitely creates air pockets more easily than older models, even to the point of pushing the rubber top up out of the blender.

The bottom line is that with The Quiet One, I have to fuss over each drink in a way I never had to with the previous model which makes it frustrating and time consuming.

I bought my Vitamix just before Christmas as a reward to myself, and I have to say I haven’t been disappointed. So far I have yet to blend something that this blender hasn’t been able to handle. I’m a big fan of blending nut butters and was previously using my hamilton beach food processor, which took me about five or so minutes.

Using this vitamix and tamper took me about 30 seconds with the tamper, and it couldn’t have been smoother. Honestly if you’re looking for a blender to do it all, it’s hard to find a better option. Even though this isn’t the model 3500, you can easily connect your phone to this blender via bluetooth with the Vitamix perfect blend app, and use tons of different pre-programmed settings if you aren’t comfortable with adjusting the speeds yourself.

For me personally it was a choice between a vitamix and a Blendtec, and while the blendtecs are powerful, I believe the tamper is necessary, this can be seen if you make something like nut butter, no matter how fast and powerful the blades are spinning, you are required to push them down to continue to make something with little liquid, I imagine that would be the same case with the blendtec, except of course those don’t come with a tamper, and you either have to stop and start constantly, or risk getting your spatula chopped to bits.

If I had to pick some negatives: The price is probably a big deal for a lot of people, but keep an eye out for deals and sales. Also if you see one that’s refurbished don’t shy away from it, Vitamix completely replaces the motors and gives you a brand new container with refurbished models.

The plastic container may be a negative for some people, hopefully in the future they will offer the stainless steel container as an included option. Overall I’m very pleased with this blender.

I initially struggled with whether to purchase the A3300 or A2500. To be perfectly candid, I was concerned about the reliability of the touch screen control versus standard switches and knobs. My own conventional wisdom has always been that manual controls are more reliable than solid state touch screen controls.

Before making my decision, I spoke to a friend that is an electrical engineering professor (that teaches a course in electronic controls). He noted that while touch screen controls where not as reliable in the early days of this technology, that the science has improved such that well made touch screens can have certain advantages over standard knobs and switches.

He explained that touch screen electronics are sealed behind their screens while knobs and switches are not as well sealed. Since Vitamix is synonymous with well made, I took the plunge and bought an A3300.

I have now owned my Vitamix A3300 for a little over a year and I am very pleased with this unit. I use it between 5-6 times a week.

I ordered the A3300 from the Vitamix Store on Prime Day. The only reason I’m giving this two stars is for excellent build quality and a powerful motor. The downside to this blender is the lack of pre-programmed functions and the NFC chipped bowl.

My last Vitamix was a Pro 750 – I love the smoothie, soup, and cleaning cycles. With the 3300, there are no programmable features – just a timer that you have to set each use. I did not realize that these features were missing when I placed my order (that’s on me).

Vitamix advertises the smart chipped pitchers as a plus – change the bowl, the base recognizes the new pitcher, and adjusts accordingly. Seeing that the only meaningful adjustment to make is to spin somewhere between slow and fast, the chip seems unnecessarily complicated.

Additionally, if the chipped pitcher is not on the base, the machine is bricked. Let’s say your spouse is adding ingredients the pitcher on one side the kitchen and you’re on the other side wanting to set the timer and speed, forget about it! The machine just flashes an error message.

Vitamix, in an effort make a “smart” blender has made a well built but gimmicky machine. I listed mine on Craigslist and ordered a Pro 750 to replace it. I am looking forward to what replaces the Ascent series in the future because the 750’s design language is starting to show its age.

As a professional chef, powerful and reliable appliances are vital. In commercial settings there are bigger machines. I have personally owned this 750 for over 10 years and it gets used everyday. Sometimes for many hours each day.

Having been vegan for the last 7 years, my Vitamix has been through the absolute wringer making cashew creams, whole frozen fruit sorbets, every kind of nut milk and pudding, plus the daily smoothies, salad dressings and hot soup purees.

I prefer the 750 over others because of the pitcher size and shape, it’s also the only blender to likely fit between your counter and top cabinets. This is the single best investment of my career. I’m on the website now ordering my second replacement pitcher, the first replacement was covered under warranty, which I was ready to gladly pay for.

This machine has blown me away every time I use it and I could not recommend a single other item to be in the kitchen over the 750, which has proven irreplaceable.

I was very happy with the blender for the first few years. However, around year 4, I noticed pitting in the lower part of the container where it’s most used. I contacted Vitamax about the problem as my containers were supposed to be covered under the 7 year warranty and this is their reply: The marring you see is simply a cosmetic denting of the plastic.

The material is not being carved away, as the markings you see are just minor indentations in the plastic. This is a normal behavior, and your container is safe to continue to use. I’ve attached a photo.

I only use the blender 2-3 times a week for smoothies or soups, so not a huge amount of use. If you don’t like the idea that you might be incorporating plastic into your diet, or that this type of thing isn’t covered under their warranty, then try something else.

For the price, yes, I did expect this to have been covered under the warranty.

Finally purchased my Vitamix Pro 750 after hearing my mother praise them since I was a child. I’m blown away at the quality of the machine. It’s lived up to and exeeded all my expectations. It’s now my favorite kitchen toy and I look forward to playing with it everyday.

A happy side effect of having my machine is that I am now consuming so many more vegetables than I normally do. A green smoothie to start off every day and usually a vegetable soup with chicken for lunch or dinner, i didn’t buy the Vitamix with the intention of completely changing my diet, but I’m happy to report that I’m now eating healthier than I have in my entire life and enjoying every meal of it.

Also making fresh homemade baby food and sweet treats for dessert like grape and banana ice cream. It has no problem blending anything I throw at it, raw sprouts, squash, chia seeds, eveeything turns to a perfectly smooth drinkable texture, I’m convinced I could toss one of my work boots into it and blend that to a drinkable consistency.

If for any reason you are on the fence about purchasing a Vitamix, please do yourself the favor and do it! You are bound to enjoy it. I especially love the manual settings of my Pro 750, I like to do everything by hand and I would recommend this product to absolutely anyone.

I have been looking at Vitamix for a few years but let’s face it – it is significantly more expensive than other alternatives and I just kept delaying it. I had read how great Vitamix is, saw professional versions in smoothie stores, but what really convinced me was when I saw the chefs from my previous company had Vitamix blenders in their test kitchens.

I recently moved and my previous had a lot of storage space – some not super evident – and when I was unpacking, I realized the movers did not pack my old blender from a different brand. That was the perfect excuse for pulling the trigger on a Vitamix.

One key component of my willingness to pay this much for a blender, is that Vitamix is made in America. I would probably have continued to resist paying this much if it was made elsewhere. I got my A3500 a couple of weeks ago and I just love the way it looks, the pre-settings for smoothies and cleaning, and making a smoothie in the Vitamix was eye opening.

My previous blender was from a well-known competitive brand and it struggled with frozen fruits and veggies. Not the Vitamix! It just blended my smoothie like it was no big deal and it tasted amazing! It was also done done, so there was no overly frozen smoothie portions that wouldn’t flow.

The Vitamix somehow sounded less noisy, and there was minimal vibration compared to the other brand. So there you go – worth every extra penny versus alternatives. I am glad I bought the A3500 and now I know I will make healthy smoothies more consistently, and maybe even try one of those soup recipes.

I’m going on 3 years of owning this blender and I couldn’t be happier. I cook a TON, and have spent time in the culinary industry which is where I first began using and selling Vitamix blenders. Initially, the price tag was what kept me from buying a vitamix for my own kitchen–but after using them at work, I knew I would not keep buying cheaper blenders that would burn out and were cheaply made.

The power of the Ascent blender speaks for itself. Yes it has all the bells and whistles you could ever imagine a blender could have, but what you are REALLY paying for is the power. This blender is phenomenal and I never have to worry that my blender isn’t up to a task in the kitchen.

I love the timed self-cleaning feature, and the compatibility with the app that this blender has. Measuring by weight using the vitamix scale has never been easier. I also love the various sizes of blender cups that work with this blender and have used them a ton as well.

Getting the blender to recognize the smart base of the smaller blender accessories requires some finesse at first, but once you get the hang of it, its extremely easy. This blender is a workhorse in my kitchen and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to up their game in the kitchen–this blender is costly but it has been worth every penny from its aesthetic, to its power, and versatility.

When I did the research for the best blenders on the market, Vitamix popped out and it is a trusted name. So we were eager to try out one of the brand’s newest smart-series offerings: the. Before using Vitamixn we use Ninza which is more affordable in price.

Vitamix has a large base that houses the powerful motor (its base is heavier compared to the Ninza) but this one has an interface that looks modern compared to those with rocker switches. It still has a central dial for adjusting the speed, but mode selection, on/off, and pulse are on a touch screen, along with programs for smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups, dips and spreads, and self-cleaning.

This one is super noisy than we’d expect, maybe because of its power. One downside of this Vitamix blender is the blade’s design. The blade is permanently attached to the bottom, is that it can be difficult to get the last bits of food out of the container.

There is a lot of waste when I tried to get all of the contents at the bottom. Also, you should wash it right away after using, otherwise, it will be hard to clean since the food gets dried out and stick at the bottom (remind: you can’t remove the blad at the bottom to clean, that is why you should clean right after use).

I did end up sending the E320 back and replacing it with a V1200 within the first 30 days (very easy process to do that). The only reason I did that was because the V1200 went on sale for only about $10 more than what I paid for the E320, and the V1200 came with a personal cup and adapter (and it also has a digital timer).

Other than that, I would have kept the E320, as I was very pleased with its performance. And I actually liked the jar lid on the E320 a lot better than the lid on the V1200. Both machines have the exact same motor, so they both perform VERY well.

The V1200 has the capability to add attachments (food processor, etc), which I don’t know that I’ll ever want, and that is the only real difference between the 2 (plus, the V1200 has a digital timer while the E320 has no timer).

Really, the only reason I made the switch to the V1200 was to get the personal cup and adapter for only about $10 extra, which I think will come in handy for small batch things such as salad dressings.

I’m a bit frustrated with this model. I use it primarily to make smoothies every morning. I can’t load all the ingredients and turn it on without it creating an air bubble and no longer blending. Even if I use the wand (which I don’t prefer) it doesn’t help.

The last model I used I just loaded all ingredients, turned it on low and built the speed gradually and it worked fine (the base was narrower). So with this model I have to sit there and babysit it, turn it off, shake the cannister until the air pocket collapses, turn it on, over and over until its contents are blended fine enough where it no longer does that.

Triples the time it takes to make the smoothie. I wanted to return it but took too long to replace it with a better model.

It’s funny how I never heard of this quiet blender before a few months ago when I read that Starbucks uses these to make their smoothies. The Vitamix is pretty much the highest quality blender out there on the market.

It can do everything, so if you own one of these babies, you never need to purchase another blender again.

I own 10 of these. I replaced the older model with this one in both of my smoothie places. We put a real beating on these things, and all I can say is that the older model was more durable. I’ve had issues with 7 of the 10 I bought and they’re all still under warranty (you pay $85+ shipping for each repair from year 1 to year 3 of the warranty), and that’s just the base units.

I’ve also replaced almost all the pitchers and blade assemblies as they’re lighter duty than their predecessors. The bottoms crack and handles break off more often than they should. They do, however, produce a great smoothie when they’re working properly.

If you’re purchasing for lighter duty these would be a great solution, but be wary if you need workhorse blenders. If I could trade these in for the 2010 model I’d do it in a heartbeat.

I purchased a red Vitamix (which looks spectacular on my white countertop) and quickly figured out that the large container would not do so I purchased the small container and have been using it 99% of the time.

My Vitamix started making funny noises so I called service. Apparently if you use this tool on anything lower than a 10, the teeth will wear down. The rather expensive small container is now trash because Vitamix stopped making the bottom part removable.

And the famous Vitamix warranty/durability? Not for the containers. They did send me the new part for the body of the Vitamix, which was lovely, but it does not look like the good quality steel of the old one so I guess corners are being cut there as well.

I would love to get a small container, but certainly not the plastic since a lot of it ended up in my flood (as anyone can see from the scratches, aka missing plastic. ) I would love a stainless steel version, but of course they don’t make a small one.

Now I’m left with two choices: didn’t use my beautiful vitamix or use the large container and waste food because the container is too big. Not great choices, so remember: Use your mixer on 10 only or you may end up in my predicament.

It’s just so sad.

I purchased this blender in hopes that it would be as good (or better) than the 5200 that I’ve had for 8 years – which is absolutely amazing. I was excited to try out the low profile container and have the extra.

2hp motor. While blending my daily smoothie (which I prefer to be the consistency of frozen yogurt), the low profile container design had me using the tamper nonstop trying to get the blender to “catch” my ingredients so that they would blend.

The dial also seemed a bit janky (i. e. it when dialing back down to 1 it seemed to have a lag, then an audible drop in power before leveling out). The entire time I could smell a faint electrical burning smell as if I was putting a strain on the motor.

Sure enough, half way through the process it shut off due to overheating. I can not imagine trying to make a nut butter or anything remotely worthy of putting a legit strain on the motor. I returned it the very next day and bought another 5200.

I’m really hoping that I received a lemon and that their quality standards have not dropped because Vitamix’s products and customer service have been nothing shy of outstanding!.

By the time I was married, I had already owned more than a dozen blenders (Blender Queen, Breville, Cuisinart, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Oster, Vitamix, and Waring Commercial). I never owned–but have used–Blendtec machines.

Over the years and after thousands of blend cycles with the above mix of blenders, the Vitamix remains my top choice. My Vitamixes have been utterly dependable (going back to my 1974 Model 3600 that still works well); are backed by top customer service; are straightforward to use; and produce the best product, be it the smoothest of smoothies, cold and hot soups, chunky dips, nut butters, or perfectly pureed sauces that pass the sieve test.

I use my 5300 every day, and it never fails to impress, especially in an age of cheaply made, poorly performing appliances.

I’ve had my Vitamix for a couple of months and used it several times. The two soup recipes I have made were both delicious, and I like knowing what is and ISN’T in them. I also made the cookie recipe named after a famous store that needs the rolled oats to be blended.

Everything I have done with it has been simple and flawless, and cleaning it is as easy as it could possibly be. Mine is a refurbished one, and it looks perfect and works perfectly. I got the black one, and the front panel looks like stainless steel, so it coordinates nicely with the other kitchen items.

I really couldn’t be happier with the Vitamix, the savings for buying a refurbished one, and the ordering-delivery process. 5 stars and and thumbs up from me!.

I love my Vitamix Blender. I’ve used it for both cold and hot fluids such as sauces. My favorite use of this machine is using it for smoothies for my toddler who hates vegetables. A little bit of added fruit with veggies makes his day.

Whipping up a smoothie is quick and literally only takes 1-2 minutes because fruit and veggies don’t necessarily need chopping. This machine is powerful and comes with a wand that helps push down any stubborn foods that may get stuck in one place from overloading and not enough liquid.

Here’s a recipe I created that will surely awaken any tastebuds: 1. 5 C. Langers Apple/Orange/Pineapple Juice, 2 C. Fresh Spinach, 2 C. Fresh Kale, 1/4 Fresh Carrot, 1 Gala apple cored, 2 Chopped pre-Frozen Bananas, 2 C.

Frozen Pinapple. 1/4 C. Local Honey. Blend until smooth:1-2 minutes; Enjoy! (.

I rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with my Vitamix that I had to share. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews before purchasing mine, so I am hoping this will help someone. My boyfriend, who was very much in the camp of “let’s buy a high-end cheap blender” (even after he watched all the video reviews with me) said the other day that he understood now that the Vitamix is not actually a blender; he said “it’s a serious piece of equipment”! So there you have it! It was worth putting my foot down on this one.

Also, I recommend buying the underblade scraper with it. I have had it for about 5 weeks now and I use it just about every day. I bought the Vitamix mainly for making the delicious soups I had tried before (made by friends’ Vitamixes) and to make smoothies/shakes.

I do enjoy using the pre-programmed setting for those: switch it on and walk away – awesome! Not only have I made soups and smoothies/shakes, but I have also made whole green juices (I can now have the whole stalk of celery instead of just the juice from it – fantastic!!), custard and mayo as well.

Some recipes take a little getting used to, because the Vitamix processes things differently, but with a little practice they turn out amazing! I went for this model (certified reconditioned – C-series w/ standard programs) because I don’t need it to do everything and I wasn’t going to fork out more money for the higher end ones.

I am really pleased with my purchase and I expect to be making delicious, nutritious and joy-bringing food with it for years to come!.

I brought a refurbished unit back in August 2017 and very pleased with how powerful this unit is. During the pandemic I tell my friends that the best kitchen appliance is my Vitamix. The container is the narrow 64 oz container and the narrow taller container produces a very creamy smoothie.

The unit is very powerful that ever adding in avocado pit you cannot tell as the pit is fully blended leaving no trace of the pit. Prior to owning a Vitamix I would throw away watermelon rind but most of nutrients in watermelon is the white rind, similarly, I use to throw away pineapple core, but the good nutrients are in the core.

During the pandemic having a daily smoothie has been our favorite drink. Vitamix customer service is the best and the five year warranty on refurbished unit is unbelievable. If you are concerned about refurbished or tall narrow container, the container is brand new and the motor looks great.

Overall this is a good blender with a few drawbacks I wasn’t expecting for the price. First the positives, it makes awesome smoothies and I was even able to make hot soups as well. I havent had any issues crushing dry ingredients either.

Unfortunately the base sometimes will vibrate and move during blending. For this reason, I am unable to set it and forget it while doing linger blending sessions. Also, the blender container doesn’t stay snug on the base.

It shifts to the side everytime you blend. Not a deal breaker, but would have expected more for the price. Another thing to note: this is a smaller capacity blender. Great for 2 people, but if you are making smoothies for 3 or more, it may be a little small.

Overall I am very happy with the blender, but if you buy it, make sure you understand the limitations. Watch for it to go on sale!.

Best value on the market. Used Vita Mix for 10 years in my mobile Espresso wagon. it will make snow out of 32oz of hard ice in 9 seconds. Fresh fruit smoothies? Lol, remove the pear core, take out the nectarine seed, peel that banana, drop in some partially frozen strawberries and a few ice cubes and you will have the smoothest, coldest fresh fruit smoothie in 9 seconds.

Nothing compares to a commercial Vita Mix.

Bought this machine specifically for smoothies and frappes. Had purchased a couple cheaper machines, too loud and took too long. Used the preset programs and set them to the the buttons, will do a regular 16 oz fruit smoothie in about 9 seconds, 2 smoothies in about 15 seconds.

We use this in a food truck so space and quiet are a priority. Would highly recommend this machine.

Owned and used for commercial & home uses. Makes easy work out of EVERYTHING. Love mine.

I purchased this in combination with the RT-590, thinking that I could replace my gas grill when searing a steak. These grates should not be marketed that way – I can do nothing of the sort. For this marketed combination, I’m giving two stars.

The grates themselves are probably 3-4 stars. The grates themselves appear to be a high quality material and are quite long/narrow. The cleaning ‘fork’ is largely useless – the manual for the grates references to use a ‘frilly’-type metal brush when cleaning the grates.

I have one, and it works much better than the included fork, especially when using the requested gentle touch. Now to the application – I put this on my RT-590, coated it as referenced, and cranked the temperature.

In 65 degree ambient temperature, my RT-590 got to 460-480 degrees. Opening the lid drops the temp by 30+ degrees pretty quick. This is asking a lot of a pellet smoker, but this is how it was marketed.

I put the steaks on the grates and after ~6 minutes, the steaks were had slight sear marks, but the steaks were only light grey. IMO, this is no way to cook a steak, and doesn’t even come close to the sear you can get with a cast iron skillet using the G.

Ramsay method (though this needs to be MUCH hotter). I ended by putting the searing grates on my gas grill and heating it to >650 degrees. They worked okay, but they’re overpriced for this purpose – I bought these grates specifically for the RT-590, and I find that in combination, those two things are no good.

I LOVE my RT-590 for smoking / low-and-slow purposes. I would seriously skip the grates in combination with the 590, and look elsewhere for your searing needs.

We purchased the searing grill grates along with our Recteq 590 on Black Friday 2021. When we opened the package to the grill grates we noticed they were heavy duty aluminum panels, the edges were sharp as ….

heck! We handled them carefully and washed them before use. Note: maybe company can buff the edges a bit to prevent and accidental cut. On our first cook were 2-20 oz. Porterhouse steaks ! I seasoned my steaks, brought them up to temp, pulled them off for resting and to crank our Rt-590 to full so we can have those eye catching mouth watering grill marks we desire.

O once we were at full temp, the recteq was approximately 500 degrees but the grates were almost 750 degrees the sizzling sound had me in awe! I did the cross grill marks and they were done! Beautiful and tasted amazing.

Our second cook were 2-3 lbs. of Tri tips. , I cooked them at low for the first two hours, and because time was was critical I blasted the recteq up to 350 degrees. Needless to say, I rested the meat, I forgot to increase the temperature to full for the grill marks, but the meat came out amazing, and after resting a second time, both tri tips were a beautiful medium rare.

I’m excited and look forward to more cooks, but work and the holidays make a slow cook a far away thought for now.
