20 Best Volume Shifted Snowboards (2022 Updated)

Somehow I talked my sister into getting me this board for Christmas since it was like the top board I could think of with the coolest features and tech. The 161W on paper is a tad too short for me at 230 lbs but feels great and handles sweet.

I paired it with some Burton Genesis bindings and it is super comfortable and responsive. I mostly ride all mountain and just love running this board up walls it’s like snowboarding on the moon! It’s fun in all conditions but in deep powder you want to use a setback stance.

It is still super fun in powder. It is controllable on corrugated ice. It makes switch riding super intuitive.

An insanely light board. There are four groove cut outs that give it a great look and shave lots of weight. The board also has a matte finish with gives it a nice look in the sun while also improving grip when holding the board or standing on it.

The art itself is quite subtle with a woman with glowing eyes however not showing the face to leave a very mysterious look, almost like she’s coming from an abyss void. As for the bottom of the board it’s just the simple Capita Logo on white text with jetblack background.

I have yet to get the board into powder, but I’m excited to put this thing on it’s maiden voyage. My friend has the previous 2020 model and he mentioned that this board is quite sensitive and will turn on a dime.

So control is like handling a scalpel on the snow. There are time where I would just put on my boots and strap up just so I can get a feel for it, probably just me being anxious.

To be quite honest I don’t have much to say. It simply does it all. It’s ultralight and nimble, yet is incredibly stable at high speeds and powers through chunder. It’s stiff enough to carve, yet soft enough to butter and activate pops with ease.

I don’t know what they’re doing at Capita, but this is a board that makes me feel like I can do anything and everything on the mountain. I’m 5’6″ and 130 pounds, so the 156 at first glance I thought would be too big for me.

The fact that it handled as well as it did makes me sure that if i sized it down to the low 150’s I’d have my dream board.

I’ve put 5 days on this board w Union Falcors and I LOVE it. I’m 5’9 150lb and bought the 153, I probably could have gone with the 150 but I have zero complaints. I ride 2 boards, the GO and the Bataleon Fun Kink.

For me, the perfect day is spending the morning in the back bowls on the GO and the afternoon in the park with the Bataleon. I went with the GO because I wanted a board that would perform better in pow than the Bataleon and one that really digs into variable snow whether I’m hiking back country or carving groomers.

This board is amazing everywhere, except maybe the park unless you love a stiff board. If you’re looking for that 1 board quiver, this could be it! The only thing that I’ll say is the stiffness is every bit of the 7 rating they gave it.

So that being said, this isn’t the most playful board and it does feel a little heavy. BUT it has mad pop, floats on powder, blasts through chunder and it can carve a groomer like a turkey on Thanksgiving.

I have to admit as a traditional camber guy I really enjoyed the feel of the C2X hybrid camber on this board. Feels a little loose going slow but once you get up to speed this board handles nicely. I am an all mountain rider with the heart of a park rat so I enjoyed this board having some great play for side hits.

The width of the board helped balance out the rocker as far as stability. Great all mountain board, I enjoyed it on hardpack and groomers but if powder had been around I bet I would be raving about this board.

Very much appreciated the more twin qualities of this board vs the traditional Orca. Im about 6 foot and 160 pounds. I was recommended the 153 but ended up riding a 157 which I enjoyed.

Seemed to be pretty solid for all-mtn and I think I prefer it to the regular T Rice Orca. Would have liked to have gotten out there on a powder day to test it. The demo rep sent my stance way back on this thing on a groomer day, so my experience might not be the best representation of what this board can do, but man was it easy to do tail grabs! I’m 5’11 175lbs with size 10.

5 boots and the 153cm seemed like it could work. It’s a bit narrower than the regular Orca so not sure if the 153cm would have been enough for me in pow but the stability at high speeds was OK.

Wonderful board and also very well shipped. It came in the exact time they predicted it to, and when it arrived it was packaged very well. The board is very sweet, and it looks and feels very awesome.

If you like playing around with your board on the slopes the pure pop style helps out a lot! Great board I would recommend it to any of you intermediate boarders.

Don’t be fooled they list this as a beginner board, but I looked around, read reviews, and tested this fella out before I picked it up and it can do everything with ease. Any rider from a beginner to intermediate will be happy with it.

Holds a great edge and is a monster with bad conditions. Very happy with the purchase and evo got it out super fast. Check it out!.

The board is perfect for a beginner! I have snowboarded for less than 10 times and the first six times, I was using my friends board which was not beginner friendly. Which Instigator, I have gained so much confidence.

It is forgiving and for someone who hasn’t developed great balancing skills, it is perfect.

I’m 6’2, 200lbs, size 11 boots, and rode the 155 Ride Peace Seeker. This is a volume shifted board meant to be ridden quite a bit smaller than your usual board. Typically, I ride +160 boards, so the 155 felt quite a bit smaller.

However, it was quite damp and smooth for it’s size. My only struggle was the width under the back foot – I felt like my boots dragged a bit on hard carves. Ideally, I’d like to ride this board in a slightly bigger size, around a 158.

Sheesh. I ripped this first thing in the morning with some stiff bindings (Ride A-8) on some pristine groomers. Beyond fast, put it on edge and let it take off. It didn’t like skidding around or taking it easy, but lord could it carve.

The big nose and setback means it’d float pretty dang well too! Not for the faint of heart, or the days when you’re feeling casual up there. One of my favorites. 5’11 @ 160 lbs, 151 was perfect.

The Ride Peace Seeker is a slick directional board, being 5’2′ and 125 in weight I rode the 142 cm. This fish lookin board will excel in powder as well as ripping on groomers and all mountain. Since this board has a long nose with a gentle rocker in the tip (20 mm in taper), camber centered near the rear binding insert and a shorter half moon tail, the shape is going to give you the perfect set up for powder, sending the nose up and keep the end of the board stable with the half moon tail.

This board also rips on groomers and as well for carving.

It’s been 25 years since I was on my floater 167 so I picked up a board that was easy to handle after a total hip replacement (THR). It is smooth, not catchy but responsive and allows me to ride with my son as he learns on his LTR 133.

I really like being able to feel the terrain under foot and with the channel system/ mission EST bindings I feel every ripple.

About me. I am big. 6′ 4″ 245lbs. I grew up in the shadow of Crystal Mt, WA. I started snowboarding at 10 and am now 37. Growing up on the steep cascade concrete of Crystal, I can shred anything anywhere.

The board. I don’t normally write reviews, but this board deserves one. I have been a loyal Mervin guy. Their graphics are the best and they are a great local company that makes fantastic boards. I had been riding a 165 wide board and was looking for something short and fat.

In the back of my mind I remember the day (20 years ago) a friend let me use his 158 K2 Fatbob. I had so much speed and control that day, it always stuck with me,and that’s what I was looking for. It came down to a Stumpape, an Orca, or a Superpig.

In person I could see that the shape of the Superpig was exactly what I was looking for. It was short and it was wider than the rest. It also had carbon stringers that the others were lacking. I hate the graphics on the Superpig, but love the lib tech graphics, especially on the Golden Orca.

I was torn between the two boards, but I knew that the shape /design of the Superpig was hands down better for a big rider like me. 1 run and I knew I made the right choice. I can not believe the difference this board made.

It was a pow day, 8 inches of fresh. This board kept me on top with such ease, I had UNBELIEVABLE control. It took my riding to a whole new level! I was bombing straight down the mountain with ease. The mountain was PACKED with ppl so after an hour the conditions changed and it got really choppy.

It doesn’t matter if you are on this board! It still just kept me on top and made the chop just disappear. I was so confident with the control of this board I was launching myself off everything. Boy do those carbon inserts give this thing pop! One little lip or mogul and you are 3 to 4ft in the air.

The last thing is how easy it is too whip this thing around. It is so much lighter and stiffer then than my 165. A big guy riding a 158 is a dream come true! I thought that with my skill level a new board could not make a huge gain in my riding.

I was wrong. P. S. I paired it with some Union Bindings and I think that helped as well. They are stiffer than my old bindings, making the board more responsive.

Love the Superpig. It’s a stiff, aggressive all-mountain charger that likes to go fast. I’m 6’0, 150 lbs and I got the medium and it is perfect for the type of riding I do. It’s not a very playful board, but I have other boards for buttering around when I want to do that.

Has tons of pop and the stiff tail lets you set it down easily on drops/side hits/jumps. It’s got a long enough tail that riding switch feels fine. I’ve ridden it on up to 8″ of powder and it has decent float, but I have a dedicated pow board so I’ll never be pulling this thing out on deep days.

I’ve ridden this board a lot more this season than I thought I would because it’s so fun and a really solid all-around board. My biggest complaint with the board (and it’s not really a big deal) is the topsheet is soft and gets beat up very easily, especially on the nose and tail.

But, since the topsheet is soft, it is super grippy for one-footing.

Had the chance to take this thing up to baker for 3 days so far this year, 2 days with decent powder, and 1 groomer day. 6’0 170 riding a medium. Sizing I was leaning towards a large for more stability at higher speeds but that would have been too much board considering the edge to edge speed already isn’t that quick on the medium, but due to the volume shift stability, I was blown away by how comfortable I have become on this medium! The middle of the board is pretty stiff which offers some crazy pop that Is really fun, that stiffness isn’t throughout as the nose and tail are quite a bit softer so you can still crank out some butters but it takes some getting used to.

Edges hold very well on groomers but can bite pretty hard on heavier snow. This thing stomps side hits and was predictable on steep terrain and powder, the only con I can think of is the top sheet seems pretty soft and already has a few scratches but not enough of a gripe to give it a 4/5.

I always wanted a Lib Tech board, so when I finally decided to get one I’m happy to say that I was so pleased with it that I bought 2, a 156cm (they recommend downsizing one notch from your usual length) and a 159cm (my usual is 160cm for most things, Burton Custom X 160, Nidecker Ultralight 160cm and Megalight 163cm are my primes).

I ride Brighton a lot and they have some good tree runs which the 156cm work so well. It feels like it reads my mind sometime as it’s very quick edge to edge in spite of its 267mm waist width. The C2x camber is a first for me and while it requires a slight change to my riding style it was easy to find and integrate its character.

When I ride these boards I feel like an Orca: fast, nimble, powerful and confident that it will deliver run after run. With all the features Lib Tech builds into this deck it’s no wonder it’s an all mountain apex predator.

Serious and playful just like the animal its named after. I ended up getting the 159cm as I wanted a little more stability at higher speeds than the 156cm could give. Float is no problem even at 156cm.

I paired both of them with Burton Genesis bindings and seems to be a pretty good match, both are 7 of 10 on stiffness scale. There is a reason this is one of Lib Techs top sellers: Because it simply is one of the best decks for powder and beyond.

Now, I bought the 156cm in early season at regular retail price at local board shop (sorry Backcountry), However I picked up the 159cm recently at Backcountry when they went on sale for $520. I was happy with that but now that it’s down to $455 you would be a fool to let this gem pass you by.

This is the first volume shifted board I have ever road and I am sold! I was stoked to try out this board after hearing all the hype over the last few years. Unfortunately the season here in Utah has been a little bit dry so I never had the pleasure of trying this guy in powder, but I have to say it is still fun as can be on icy night riding groomers at Brighton Resort.

Mervin’s Magne-Traction technology is a game-changer. Unreal edge hold and quick turn initiation. Since this is a volume shifted board be sure to size down a few cm from your regular board size. My daily driver is a 143cm so I opted for the 139cm in the Orca and it felt right on point.

Although it is a stiff board I didn’t find it to be too aggressively stiff for myself. If you have been thinking about it. do it.

I got to ride a 153 and `156 on back-to-back-to-back pow days. My nose sank on the 153 but the 156 was perfection. Very often would my friends be slowing down or getting stuck in the fresh pow (one friend rides a 159 2020 Gnu Mullair).

The Orca glides like a boat over the deep heavy stuff. It carves like a dream on all types of terrain. My only negative would be the short tail (which, for a designated pow board, is almost a requirement).

I found it hard to land my jumps due to the short tail. Usually I like to butter my tail down for a soft pillowy landing but this was tough to do. Another “negative” would be seeing so many of these on the mountain.

But it’s definitely a fun time when you squad up with an Orca pod in the lift lines. The Orca call: EEEEEEEEEEEEEE-OOOOOOOOOOOHHH-EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!.

Been riding for 25+ years and have been riding a flat-rocker board for the past 5. I avoid the park like the plague and prefer to go downhill in one direction and fast! I live for power days and spend as much time in the glades and backside as possible, however groomers are my typical daily commute hailing from the east coast.

I sought a directional board that can absolutely shred the corduroy and travels well to handle the trees and deep when allotted. This board is it! Demo’d at Vail during a powder day, hung out in Blue Sky Basin and had the best day of my life! Came home and ordered the board immediately.

Can really lean into the edges for crisp carving and lean back and you’re floating over the pow. Handles the chop like a pro with the wide rocker nose. Been fortunate enough to not been out in icy conditions yet.

I paired the Flight Attendant with Burton Genesis bindings and I am absolutely in love! Best setup I’ve ever had!.

Lots of great stuff has been written about this board already so I will keep it short. This board is pretty close to a one board quiver IF you’re not lapping the park every day. Board is great for straight airing pretty much anything, but not the greatest for spinning.

Since I haven’t spun more than a 360 in a decade this thing checks all the boxes for me. One of the best carvers you can find and you won’t believe how well it does switch. Its not going to feel like a twin, and this is clearly more directional than any park board, but if you like carving switch you’ll be psyched.

I’ve got a quiver, but when I travel this is the one that always makes it in the bag.

Great board – I’m really glad I choose this board. This thing just carve crazy, feel solid and stable on the edge, with a nice pop for weight transfer between turns. The wide rocker nose just blast trough bumps, pillows, and float so very well in powder! I’m impress by such versatile board.

162cm – 5ft10′ – 175Lbs – boot size 10.

I have ridden some other splitboards on the market and this one takes the cake regarding overall performance and experience! First of all, this is the lightest split on the market, which is insane. Second, being the lightest on the market doesn’t mean Capita skimped out on performance or durability.

The Mega Split is a solid ride that contains a ton of pop, on a base built to glide smoothly over fresh snow. The directional-twin shape allows me to ride it switch when I want to, meaning it doesn’t hold me back from any approach or steep situation.

My Mega-Split came with pre-cut skins too, just one less item to search for and mess with. Having these high quality skins included in my purchase got me riding sooner than having to source and cut skins separately.

Gotta love that!.

The best snowboard I’ve owned. Great for an aggressive all-mountain freestyle rider. Great in powder (like surprisingly super confident even after over a foot of overnight snow) with the lifted contact points, insane amounts of pop so its super fun.

My only minor gripe is it doesnt have the greatest edge hold, I assume due to how Capita does their lifted contact points as its kinda like the profile of the board and the sidecut dont match up. So the widest parts of the board are actually further up on the tips than where the profile naturally touches the snow.

It still carves pretty hard and you can definitely hold a hard carve and get low, it just takes some work. But its totally worth it given how incredible it is everywhere else. Seriously the only board you need.

This ’22 Mercury is everything it’s cracked up to be. Lightweight board, super fast, and fairly stiff. Can take on the whole mountain with confidence when riding this board. The shape makes turning smooth as butter and catch free on weird landings.

This board loves some airtime and encourages you to go bigger with its insane pop. Not the floatiest in the deep deep but the not overly-directional shape rides switch comfortably. All of this plus the fact it was made in one of the best factories in the industry makes the ’22 Mercury the right choice for any aggressive all-mountain or freestyle rider.

CAPITA.

Review: After a really long time and alllotttt of boards, I finally found Never Summer through a demo n VT. I tried the aura and loved it. Unfortunately when I went to get one they were out of production but saw the Swift and was like… Woah! At the time I was out in Colorado so lots of really good powder days, on the swift, which I expected.

but to my joy of joys the Swift rode all terrain. I was loving the camber profile, which made riding snappy and tireless. The swift also has a great surfy ride, which as a surfer is appreciated. One thing it wasn’t great at for me was landing (probably my stance on that shape) so I grabbed a shaper twin.

that handled the speed and flying over small ledges no problem. Also really amazing on VT ice pack. Glides over the sheets with speed and control and lets you continue turning when snow comes back and covers the icy patches.

Now Saving the absolute best for last is the the blessed Harpoon! I was fortunate to get the hummingbird, colombine graphics (the most beautiful board I have in my active quiver!!! ) and the lady ROCKS! I have to say it’s the most versatile ride in my quiver.

It does absolutely everything. Ive taken it in the steep and deep powder of Snowbird Utah and scary icy Cannon NH. And I get so many compliments on the graphics … even from skiers ! Today Im pretty content with my sweet suit.

Swift, Shaper Twin and Harpon. I will probably transform the swift into a split board so I can hike up the hills in VT this year, they close early and leave lots of corn to harvest. So thank you Never Summer fro your glorious shapes! Im going to be 60 this year and riding better than ever thanks to you all.

In Feb 2022, I rode the Harpoon in Zermatt, Switzerland when the airlines lost my luggage and I had to rent a board. And I am sooo thankful because this board absolutely crushes! I was on the 156, although I am usually most comfortable on boards 160 (I’m 6′, 225 lbs).

On piste was pretty hard packed and to my surprise, this board really held an edge well, even allowing for pretty solid carving. We found some knee deep but heavier snow off piste and I was entirely impressed by how well this floated my weight and turned with ease.

I’m actually thinking about adding this one to the permanent rotation and that is saying something considering I own several NS and a number of different manufacturers’ boards.

Since I bough this board my snowboarding life has changed completely, so I couldn’t believe how manoeuvrable and playful it is. I have been on many other brands but this board is a real game changer.

I really enjoy every day riding it and started to progress a lot with the butters and ollies. Have the 2019 Chris Corning model (unfortunately without his autograph) the 151 and I really like the design of its top sheet.

This board float really well in deep powder but I was amazed how versatile it is when I hit the fun park last week. I simply love it!.

I love the board. However, this board was sent to me damaged. I contacted Peter Glenn the next day via phone call from the store it was purchased from and they ask me to send an email along with pics.

This was a week ago 2/23/22. I have still not heard back from them. I paid for a new board, not a damaged one.

I haven’t gotten to try the board out yet, but I loved it out of the packaging. I was looking for a more intermediate-advanced board that allowed me to ride powder but also could use as an all mountain board, too.

I’m existed to give it a try and will update review once I’ve tried it out.

I rode the Capita Navigator on a hardpacked groomer day. I was mostly impressed with how light the board was. Sometimes lightweight boards feel a bit chattery when you get them up to speed but I didn’t notice that with the Navigator.

It was fun to turn and looks like it would be a good choice for days with fresh snow too. I weigh 155lbs and the 158cm Navigator felt pretty good. I could possibly go just a little shorter.

I’m a 6’4 aggressive all-mountain freestyle rider (size 11. 5 Rome Libertine boots) and I rarely find myself on true twins, much less those with a lot of flex, but the Jones Tweaker may change the appearance of my quiver come this fall.

Make no mistake this board, at its heart, is a highly-playful jib n buttering machine but what I didn’t quite expect was the way this board would handle higher speeds and variable terrain. The thought Jones put into their first-ever true twin freestyle board left no stone unturned.

Whether it be the variable flex pattern (stiffer in tip/tail, flexier between feet) that ensures stability in landings and nimble turn-initiation between the feet or the widened tip/tail and 3D base contouring they put into it for when Ullr delivers the goods, Jones definitely came to play with this welcomed addition to their lineup.

The true camber that runs the whole way through this board ensures stability at high speeds, unmatched pop and edge hold that I did not expect in the slightest. While I’m not sure it could be my everyday board with its softer flex, I was incredibly impressed by how this board performed across the whole mountain.

I think it’d be perfect for someone who spends a lot of their time in the park but loves a good end-of-day hot lap or for someone that wants a board to help them up their freestyle chops while not sacrificing much performance on their more all-mountain or bootpack riding days.

This board is definitely for the rider that loves lapping the park and hitting some poppy side hits on all mountain riding. I was on a size that was probably a little too small for me and I could feel it.

It was a really fun and playful board for those flat butters, but I didn’t feel like I could get the pop I needed to get the most out of the board. I would definitely try it again at a slightly bigger size that would fit me better.

The tweaker was great edge to edge and a fun board over all, but again feel like I need to size up to get the most out of it for a bigger rider.

Great board for the entire mountain. Stable on the high speed sections on the down hill. Good mid flex with plenty of pop. Decent grip on the carves. Sick graphics is the icing to the cake. What more can you ask for? If true twin boards are your thing, then the Jones Tweaker will definitely float your boat.

I have ridden this board for a few years (earlier versions) and now I have ridden the new Team during the summer and it feels like a board you have always ridden. A great balanced flex pattern offering support where you need it and flex when you want it.

If you are looking for a board that can do it all and is fast from intermediate to pro this is what I tell my friends to get. I ride all over the mountain in all conditions.

My daughter 7yo has been riding a Burton Chicklet for the past few years (great board to learn the basics) but with its turned up edges the kid couldnt carve a turn. I could see her trying to get the board to engage an edge but just never dug in.

I looked at all the brands out there, only a handful make boards for little rippers with a real rocker camber, and decided on the Jone’s Prodigy. WOW!!!! I figured it would take a couple of days to get used to it, nope! Right off the bat on her first run she was immediately charging the mountains and carving turns like a beast.

She started competing and won a silver medal in her first halfpipe comp. Jone’s we are looking for sponsorship ;).

Bought the 110 for my 7 year old son who is coming off of a 100cm “kids board”. It was an instant improvement with comments on how easy it is to carve and Ollie. I think the kids boards with rocker and side kicked edges have their place, but for kids who ride 75 days and up, gear that gives them rewarding experiences back are essential to their progression.

This board is exactly that and is versatile enough to help him learn his way through GS and boarder cross racing while still hold its own in the park.

Boas looks and feel great. I can’t wait till my kiddo can try it out on the mountain. It is definitely a stiffer board than the chopper that the kids have been learning on. I would ride it if it was bigger.

The graphics are cool too.

Hello my name is Jeremiah but you can just call me jerry. I would could call myself an intermediate rider and my first impressions of this board is that it is really flexible. I purchased a 153 and it’s just above the tip of my chin and I’m 5’8,130ish lbs.

After binding in on the carpet I immediately felt where I was flat and centered on the board and because it’s so flexible it didn’t take much weight to press the nose and tail. The pop on this board is out of this world and the landings are pretty forgiving.

The details on the top sheet and base are smooth and well designed it’s just a great looking and feeling board!.

While this may not be the *most* floaty, or *most* poppy, or *most* carve-y board out there, the bottom line is this will go anywhere and do anything you want and not cause too much of a fuss. A so-called quiver killer (yuck).

Seriously though, if you’re not looking to spend all your money filling your garage with limited use boards, just get this so you don’t have to think about what you’re gonna ride any given day. Just a dang good snowboard.

I’m 5’11” and 160ish, went with the 154 to get something a little smaller and maneuverable. If you want the float, err a little higher sizing.

Review of the Jones 2022 Frontier 159. Absolutely fantastic do anything all-mountain board, particularly for intermediate to advanced riders (really anyone after true beginners can ride and appreciate this board).

This board shreds the mountain a new one, anywhere and everywhere, from groomers and side-hits to the terrain park to glades and off-piste. I rode this 3 days at Whiteface (bluebird and powder days) with Flow Fuse rear step-in bindings and ThirtyTwo TM-2 Double Boa Wide boots (both highly recommended!).

This board did absolutely everything I asked of it and kept coming back for more. The camber provides pop and edge hold while the rocker and 3D-shaped tip and tail provide smooth edge-to-edge transition and playful handling for ollies, jumps, etc.

This has the Jones Traction Tech 2. 0 with a ‘mellow mag’ feel which really grips well in hard snow and icy conditions (very noticeable difference from standard edge boards). The Frontier is nimble enough for glades, side hits and park laps while also being stable and controlled for solid carving, bigger jumps and open-mountain / off-piste adventures.

The board feels stable but not 100% ‘locked-in’ like a traditional full camber board, and with rocker outside the bindings and 3D shaped tip and tail, it’s more forgiving and thus easier for landings and various ground tricks – ollies, pops, butters, etc.

Not to mention it floats well for an all-mountain board. I’m 175lbs so a bit above the midpoint for the weight range on the 159, and the mid-stiff flex (I’d rate 6/10) is playful and poppy while the board overall feels smooth, controlled, fast and nimble.

Riding switch feels great for a directional freeride board, which was a concern and I would say this gets the main benefits of a twin design with the more powder-friendly longer spoon tip. The design looks even sweeter in person (and yes I ruined it with a Dakine stomp pad!) and I got several compliments including a couple instructors who definitely know their boards.

About to commence my first base repair after some hard hits that didn’t cause much damage, actually, and overall I’m very pleased with the sintered base. All this plus Jones emphasizes using sustainable materials and Jeremy Jones founded POW and they contribute to 1% for the Planet, so it hits all the right marks there.

To me it’s basically perfect. Two minor nits: The reference stance at 23. 6″ is too wide for me at 6′ where I ride more like 22″, so I moved both the front and back bindings one insert closer to the middle, which also helps to stay in the middle of the sidecut.

Also the waist is on the slim side for me with size 10 boots, but so far it hasn’t been an issue (maybe someday if I master the “God” carve). And for a price under $500 it’s amazing, honestly. I just can’t say enough good things about the Jones Frontier and I’m thrilled to have it for my one-board quiver.

I love this board. Aesthetically beautiful, functionally sound, and even with just factory wax, it has been gliding like a hot knife in a tub of butter. So smooth. I am also able to handle the board very well and even with factory edges, I am not catching edge very often.

I would highly recommend this board to anyone who truly does all terrain, and enjoys having great control of the board.

After a long hiatus from snowboarding I’ve been stoked to see how amazing all the new stuff rides. This is my first split and I wanted something that could still be a little freestyleish playful but float better than a traditional all mountain shape.

Struggled for awhile to deciding between this and the solution as I was worried the frontier would feel too soft. Where I think I would like it a little stiffer I am still super happy haven chosen this for the shape and playful aspect.

Got 8 days splitting this winter on this board, and I was very quickly comfortable on it. Being new to splitting I was interested to see how the two pieces worked together when in snowboard mode. I could feel them flex different but to be honest after a few runs I stopped thinking about it.

Only got to ride this in powder so I have no judgement how it rides in harder or chopped up stuff. -Has been was be guy who used to ride 120+ days a year for a long time.

Love this board so much! I paired it with union flite pro bindings and could NOT have a better setup (seriously, riding anything else is so hard now). I’ve just recently started learning jumps and this board is perfect for it, super poppy and wants more air than I’m ready for.

Also speedy and fun for carving. I also let my boyfriend take a few laps (he’s an incredible rider) and he agreed that it’s a fun, snappy board. I love this board so much. Only downside is you don’t get to choose the base color.

I got the red which looks good, but would have preferred the black. Either way, could not be more happy with my Ply.

I’m somewhere in the intermediate capability range and this board made a total difference in improving my ability even more. This in turn increased my confidence enabling me to take on new challenges.

Absolutely affordable too. Would totally recommend this board to others like me.

I got this board last minute and took it to the mountain right out of the store. I’m 5’11” and 194lbs. Got 156 board, cuz I prefer shorter boards than what’s recommended for my weight. I got it waxed at the resort and shredded all day long.

This board is sick. So fast yet so stable on edge and on the flat bottom. The base of the board is amazing. It charges so fast and glide exceptionally well. In most of the reviews you’ll hear that this board is not for intermediate riders, but I promise you, this is your ticket to a whole new level of riding, carving and improving your speed.

I loved it and just couldn’t get enough of riding this beast. Thank you JJ for this amazing snowboard. Definitely a head turner as well. The colors of this board is incredible. If you have learn basics and can ride down the mountain on your current stick and looking forward to upgrade, get this incredible board.

My riding style is mostly all mountain/powder riding and I mainly ride in one direction (regular). Conditions were hard pack crunchy snow. I weigh 145lbs, I am 5’9″ and I rode the 159cm. I felt as though I would have sized down with this board to around a 156cm size.

The side cut of this board is extremely tight and the board can turn on a dime. The downside of this being the edge hold didn’t feel as secure to me versus other boards I have ridden. It felt slightly twitchy and like the board almost wanted to take me a certain direction if I didn’t fight it to go where I wanted to.

This board feels more comfortable taking tight turns rather than longer and straighter turns. Both the nose and tail of this board feel very stiff and rigid. The side to side stiffness of this board made it feel harder to control when on edge.

I wish it felt smoother transferring from edge to edge. The big wide and floaty nose of this board would make it an excellent option in the powder. The board would likely feel more at home in softer snow conditions and just felt a little unnatural in the hard pack icy conditions.

This board is for someone who wants a stiffer and more aggressive powder board for tight tree runs! This board is not for someone who wants a playful soft board.

I ride all-mountain terrain, and I’m constantly searching for the do it all board. This board is at the top of my list. It’s got great edge control and just wants to carve the whole way down the mountain.

It stays stable at speeds, and is easy to maneuver even in tight trees. It’s a hard charging board, but it was even fun to take off of the medium sized jumps in the park. I haven’t tried it yet in powder, but it’s overall design makes me think it will excel there too.

I’d highly recommend this for an advanced rider looking for one board that can do it all, or just a really fun board to add to a collection.
