20 Best Vornado Tower Fan (2022 Updated)

This little fan is awesome! I have gone through a dozen smaller ‘tabletop’ size fans and this one if by far the best. Its very quiet, even on the higher settings. There is no rumble or vibration, the air feels like its coming out smooth, not choppy.

Its pretty powerful for a little guy, the air stream is thin but powerful. I like that it can work with or without the stand and that it can keep going in a circle without the back and forth. The interface buttons took a little getting used to, but now that I know how to control it its really easy to set the exact direction I want it to blow.

Definitely the best fan Ive ever had. I highly recommend!.

This is the second one of these fans that I have. They are essentially the same thing, but this one has a stand that comes with it. The one without the stand is great for a desk, but it kinda takes up a lot of space.

This one doesn’t have that problem, as the stand is super sleek with a small footprint. My only complaint is that the system for setting the oscillation limits is clunky. It is hard to tell how far you are setting the fan to go before it bounces back and goes the other way.

Also, it is sometimes not very user friendly and gets stuck moving back and forth about 2 inches.

I’ve had this fan now for a couple of years. In summer, it is on nearly constantly to move the cool air from the air conditioner (or open window) across our long living room into the sleeping area beyond.

In winter, it distributes our NYC steam heat evenly. It’s powerful and quiet, and the shutters focus the air straight across the room, or diffuse it more widely. I’ve owned other Vornado fans, and their customer service is terrific.

And the performance of this fan thus far is terrific. The motor is quiet and powerful, and I have no issues with how it moves the air. I do have some quibbles with the controls snd some build quality issues.

The smooth controls with 100 variable speeds (basically a smooth spectrum) is nice, but can be fickle. It’s easy to brush the touch sensitive power button or timer buttons while adjusting the speed (they are VERY sensitive).

The circular stand comes in four pieces that don’t connect firmly. Weird that it’s not just a single piece, and it’s like wearing a tuxedo with dime store flip flops, a serious quality ding. The plastic grill cover is similarly finicky in its fit, and I often have to snap some part of it back in place.

It’s just not an efficient design or quality build. Even the adjustable shutters which focus or diffuse the airflow feel less than premium. This is a $200 fan. The motor may be the best, but the pieces we touch and interact with most are not, and that sours the overall experience a bit.

In all, I paid the premium for this fan to get the 10 year warranty, because Vornado really stands behind their products and if they’re doubling their usual 5 yr coverage on this, they must feel it’s of a quality that will endure.

I hope they’re right, or if they aren’t that they stand behind it anyway. And I certainly hope that they improve the build quality of their towers.

Beautiful looking. Works great 2 years later. Both were major factors in my decision to purchase this one. A couple downsides though. The numerical readout screen and remote control sensor are on the top of the unit.

If you have the fan pointed at you and you are sitting on the couch on the other side of the room and aren’t positioned above the height of the fan you have to stand up to see what setting the fan is on or to turn the fan up or down using the remote control.

Since it has 99 speed settings (neat!), sometimes “off” and setting “20” or less can feel the same when it’s on the other side of the room, so the screen is more important than it may seem. Not the end of the world, but kinda makes the remote control and screen less useful.

Another issue is that my Samsung TV -AND- my LG phone (what are the chances?) both cause interference issues with the fan. It sounds crazy, but they share frequencies. Took me awhile to figure out what was going on.

Thought I had a haunted fan or something! haha But if my fan is near the TV (within a few feet) and I use my TV remote to turn on or off the TV, the fan speed will change randomly! Additionally my LG-V10 phone must have some sort of proximity sensor in it.

If I point the screen of my phone at the fan, the fan speed starts changing too!! Which again, wouldn’t be such a problem except now I have to stand up and hunt for the fan remote control or walk over to the unit to adjust it back.

Happens nearly everyday and becomes pretty annoying. I’ve never seen a problem like this before with any other electronics. Bizarre for sure! I don’t want to slam Vornado as it’s a beautiful tower fan and I don’t want to discourage their effort, but it needs a little tweaking.

I absolutely love this fan. It has enough power to circulate air quietly and calmly at approximately 56% in a 700 sq ft. room. At full power, it has enough to really just suck smoke out or any quick ventilation needs.

It has the versatility of a fan and a ventilator / circulator. The detachable grill really lets you clean the squirrel cage / fan blades well. Not sure why this wasn’t marketed further, but the DC models are a lot better than the AC versions because it virtually eliminates the induction vibration that comes with AC motors.

At higher powers, you get more of a gentle whirring that sounds like somebody is mowing grass 10 doors down while all your doors & windows are closed. (Very quiet and mildly pleasant). To me, I absolutely love that sound as it reminds me of a wonderful Sunday morning that I can no longer have in an Urban jungle.

So, why not perfect 5/5? The issue here is that there’s a bearing that hisses at the top. It’s a standard bearing hiss that one can expect with metal parts, but if you were to poke the fan and tilt it 15 degrees to one side, the hiss literally vanishes.

I mean, it’s magically gone. This makes me think that perhaps the mold / precision of parts is just slightly off that causes the freestanding structure to mis-align slightly. Maybe my bearings need some time to break in / spread the lubricant after what may be some shelf time.

In any case, it has more power than a Dyson, easier to clean than a Dyson, stronger than a Honeywell Quietset (Honewell’s bearings are slightly quieter), and to me seems like it would last a LOT longer than a standard Wal-mart fan.

On top of this, my wife truly hopes that the fan could have had a black stand instead of silver since we have light coloured floors. As a large room ventilator fan, I would whole-heartedly recommend this.

The better ventilation has truly made the place more liveable, given us more energy, and makes the place feel a whole lot cleaner / better.

I like the fan. It’s decently quiet, especially on the 1 and 2 settings. I always have fans on the highest settings, and this one is fine with me as far as noise goes. My issue is, no remote? It being on a stand, I’d assume people would be placing these on a corner, right? So, no fan to change settings? At least with how fancy the design is, that they’d have Bluetooth involved.

But nothing. The touch controls on top take some time to master, and even still I have trouble working them.

The overall design of this EXPAND4 Compact Travel Air Circulator is different than any fan I have every owned! The legs folding to double as a handle and the cord storage area being hidden behind a silicon cover are just 2 very clever aspects of the design.

Due to the easy to grasp sections on both front & back of the fan, the expanding and collapsing process is much simpler than I anticipated it would be. When fully expanded, the unit is only 10″ high.

When opened, the very sturdy legs are 7″ wide and 6″ in depth, so it doesn’t take up much space. I like that I can set it at the foot of my bed, where I spend the majority of my time due to health issues.

The 7″ face of the fan allows for a fairly decent amount of air flow, if it’s within a 2-3 feet of where I am sitting when on Low speed. On High speed I can place it 6-7 feet away and still feel the air moving.

On the downside, I find this air circulator to be a bit noisy for my liking when set on the high setting. (It’s extremely quiet when set on low. ) I have also found that I need to be extra careful when adjusting the body to redirect the air flow.

If I am not, the silicone portions tend to collapse and need to be readjusted to prevent damaging the fan blades. I would recommend it for use in a smaller area like a bedroom or kitchen. It would also be great as intended for travel.

So initially when I heard the words compact and travel I thought that this was somehow battery operated and you could use it in the car. This has a plug not batteries which is fine and probably better for the lifespan of the product but a little disappointing in that aspect.

However that being said the fan itself is actually very cool and has a couple really neat aspects. The product has a stand that doubles as a handle. The back of the product also has a place to wrap the cord and keep it there.

It is also very compact and the perfect size for traveling just as advertised. The best part is that even though there are only a couple speeds to choose from the air circulation is actually powerful enough to qualify as satisfying.

Very delightful product overall.

I like to keep fans all over my house. I found that they use much less energy than I once thought (as opposed to my ceiling fan, which is almost as bad as my AC!). So instead of cranking the AC down to 70 or so, I keep it at 77, and just turn on a fan in whatever room i am going to be in.

I also take fans with me when I travel because fans are the greatest white noise machine of all. This little Vornado did great. It was easy to assemble, and can use it almost immediately. It had a nice little blast of air wherever you want it, without being overwhelming.

It’s small, lightweight and easy to carry around, the legs make the carrying handle, so there’s nothing extra to lug with you. I am impressed with this little fan!.

Since we have received the Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator, my family has absolutely LOVED it! We haven’t gone a day without using it, and it is probably one of the best, recent items we have in our home as of now.

When it arrived, I was so nervous it would be super heavy, bulky, and gaudy. However, it was very light, has a nice sleek design, and doesn’t take up much room at all. It was extremely easy to put together (just base parts to main circulator and cords!) We love the simple “touchscreen” style tapping for turning the unit on and off, and adjusting the power of the fan.

We currently switch it back and forth between our living room, bedroom, and playroom. It 100% circulates the air better, faster, and cools down a room so quickly as well. I do not worry having it in the playroom with my 4 year old because Vornado had safety in mind while creating this product! There is nothing to harm my child or anyone on this circulator and it is easy for children to use and operate as well.

I will mention that the air circulation noise is relatively loud, especially if you blast it high (settings for 60 to 99). It is not a problem for us with the noise because we enjoy it! We use the hum of a fan to sleep with at night anyway, and this has become an even better replacement than a regular stand up or small fan.

We are sleeping so much better and the room is cooler at night because of the circulator. We go on vacation very soon and have decided to take this instead of our stand up fan!! I am extremely excited to see how it works in our beach house with the excess humidity.

I am sure we will be traveling with it during other vacations instead of an awkward stand up fan. The great thing is that it comes apart easily and fits simply in our car with no issues/bending/taking up much needed room.

Overall we LOVE Vornado and their products! I don’t think I have ever been as satisfied with an item before this Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator. Five star product!!.

This air circulator should not be confused with a fan. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it really works much better than a traditional fan. First of all, the design and aesthetics are very appealing and it looks good in most any room.

The air velocity is adjustable from a gentle breeze to a full on blast of air. It’s also almost silent at the lower settings where it will be set most of the time and not objectionable at the higher settings.

The pattern of the air being discharged is also adjustable from a narrow beam to a wide spread fan. Similar to the operation of a ceiling fan, the air flow is designed to originate from the unit, travel the length of the room where upon hitting a wall, is redirected back toward the unit moving around most of the air in the room.

It really does work when set up properly after you experiment with the settings and placement to achieve the desired results. I’m using this in my office space, where a few of us are semi cube style in a larger room.

The air circulates and the stale, stuffy air is gone. I also like the timer function and remote control feature. Well worth it’s cost as it’s a work horse, well made and has a 10 year guarantee.

I’ve sworn by Vornado fans and humidifiers for decades. In fact, my fans are all decades old and still performing strongly and quietly. I purchased the NGT33DC to circulate the air in an exercise loft above my bedroom, where of course the warm air rises.

Whereas Vornado’s fans have a cone-shaped air-circulating profile, the circulator has a very narrow profile. It cools the immediate area a bit, but certainly not the entire space. And while the fans have a low sound, the NGT33DC has a high, whiny sound and is not at all what I would describe as quiet.

Luckily, the fan-wheel on my rowing machine drowns it out when I’m rowing. So does the FM radio if I turn the sound up enough. I don’t think this is an improvement on Vornado’s excellent fans.

I loved this fan, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be. It is very cute, a little darker than the photos suggested, and the perfect look for my vintage styled room, but the reason I wanted a Vornado was because two of my friends had regular ones that I fell in love with.

Unfortunately, I had to return it for two reasons. 1) The white noise wasn’t quite like the other Vornado fans I liked. Its a little quieter, and on the highest setting, there is an underlying frequency that MOST people will not catch but I do.

Not at all bothersome during the day while I’m working, but I do catch it at night while I’m trying to sleep. I can assure you that if you’re not an audio engineer like me, you will not notice it. I just have extremely sensitive hearing.

2) It is the tiniest bit less powerful than the regular Vornado (I compared with my roommate’s). Maybe its just my room shape as I have 12ft high ceilings and almost no circulation in my room when the door is closed.

I hoped this would help, but unless I point the fan directly at myself through the night, I am still hot and stuffy by morning. I will update this once I get a regular Vornado and can compare the night sleep.

I don’t want to discourage anyone else away from this fan. It just wasn’t a good fit for me personally.

I’ll be honest, I bought this fan not because of the brand or reviews- I chose it for it’s look alone. I just received it today and I’m very happy with the look and feel. It’s heavy duty, feels like 10lbs easily and the paint and chrome are gorgeous.

That being said- the fan blade is not metal, it’s black plastic. The fan blade diameter is about 7” so when purchasing this fan, you can’t expect it to put out the same amount of air that a fan with a larger fan blade like a box fan for example.

It moves air but, doesn’t blast my hair back or anything. I did read a lot of reviews on a bunch of different websites before purchasing. There are a good amount of bad reviews saying that the fan stops working but, the Vornado company honored their warranty and sent a new fan.

That is what made me just go ahead and buy the fan finally after looking at it for a couple of months. Obviously I hope my new fan doesn’t break but, at least the company has my back. I’m going to keep the box it came in and leave the receipts in their just in case anything happens.

Anyhoo, I bought this fan to circulate air in a small laundry room in the sweltering summer months and for when the power goes out and we need some air flow in the bedroom that won’t draw too much power from our generator.

So the medium size meets our needs so far and looks beautiful while doing it. I’m giving it 4 stars solely because I have a slight fear that there may be problems with it working in the future from all the reviews on the web.

I apologize. Anyway, great fan. Good solid build quality. Looks great and blends in with home decor. It has three fan speeds that cover a lot of range. The lowest setting is very quiet but still moves a lot of air around, while the highest setting is a turbine, though the noise is an even hum and not off-putting.

Totally recommend this fan.

I bought this air circulator fan for my daughter’s bedroom. She sleeps on a top bunk bed, so a traditional fan wasn’t keeping her cool in the lofty heights. This air circulator is the solution we are were looking for.

It is brilliant! It absolutely works! Even on the low setting (placed on a low bench with it pointing to the ceiling) it circulates the air in the room making the whole room noticeably cooler – even than the rest of the house.

It is a little loud on the high setting – but once the air has circulated on high, we leave it on low, for a very comfortable sleep.

I gave it to my sister for a combination Birthday and Christmas gift. We both opened the box, and upon seeing it for the first , I will admit that I was not impressed. Too light weight and waay too small I thought.

My sister moved across the room from where we were seated, and asked me to turn the unit on. We got caught up in a conversation , and within a few short minute’s ,she stated that the air around her had changed and that she was feeling cool air rising and circulating around her.

The unit was not aimed her way, I would like to add ! This is a very unique , not your ordinary fan.

Easy Target online order. Excellent updates and communication from both Target & UPS. Received it in 6 days. I’ve used it the past 2 days in my condo living/dining room. (Whole condo is 922 sf) With this little beauty I can run the A/C at a higher temp and still feel comfortable without blasting the A/C.

Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and I never really wanted one in LR/DR, so this works. This replaced a tower fan that broke off of the pedestal but still ran, just wasn’t able to use it any longer in that condition.

I was leery to change over from a oscillating fan, but once you place and adjust this 460 in the right spot, success!.

I bought this fan because I knew the brand name produced extremely strong fans. I live in a shoebox sized container room that has no circulation so this type of fan with no bulky back would be ideal if it worked well but it doesn’t.

I was hoping to replace my Honeywell fan with this one but I took it out of the box and it was so disappointing that I put it back and am using my same fan.

I just bought this (fit) Vornado a few days ago. I needed something small and quiet to place in my cubicle at work. It’s perfect. I went back to the store and purchased another one for my home office.

I’ve been a fan of the Vornado products for over forty years. My parents had Vornado fans when I was a child. We only had a big window air conditioner in the living room. It was a big ranch style house and we had one of the big giants that was on a stand, and two of the three speed desk type.

Those fans circulated the cold AC air all through the house. Dad never turned the window AC unit any higher that low speed, and the Vornado’s kept the house at a nice 68 to 69 degrees all summer long.

They are still running all these years later. That was back in the days when you could oil the motors and they would run indefinitely. I now have nine Vornado fans from 1947 to the present. I know there not built like they were in the old days, but at least they still have that deep pitch blade design.

That’s important. The motor can run at a slower rpm saving electricity but you still get a nice amount of air output. There’s been some copy cats out there trying to duplicate the blade design, but there not a Vornado.

And I am thrilled they brought back the variable speed control switch on some of their fans. I can only hope they start placing the variable speed switches on more of their fans. So for the little (fit) model, your can’t go wrong for the money.

It’s small, quiet, has two speeds, tilts, portable, nice long cord, and puts out a surprising amount of air for it’s size. And they placed a fuse in the plug for safety. I only ask that they put a carrying handle on the back.

There are two small round holes on the back at the top. They could drill them through and put a nice grade plastic handle on it and have screws hold it on from the inside where the fan goes together.

It would look like a handle on a kitchen drawer. That’s my only complaint. I’m going to buy two more.

This is a small compact desktop air circulator designed for small spaces. I use this in my office cubicle. I like that it folds flat for easy storage when not in use. I also like that it is quiet and quite powerful for such a small unit.

The cord length is sufficient to reach power outlets beneath my desk. Two things would make this a 5 star product in my opinion. The fan has just two settings. Low and high. I wish that there were an intermediate setting between the two and that maybe the high was a bit more powerful.

But really the two speed settings are more than sufficient and this is me nitpicking. However, I do wish that the fan could be adjusted to blow down. It is designed with an adjustable hinge for the fan to be folded flat to about 80°.

This is fine when the fan is placed at desktop level or even the floor and angled upward. But my desktop can get crowded and wish that I could position it on a shelf above my desk so that it could blow downward to conserve desk space.

Still, this is a nice product that does what it is supposed to and I would recommend it for anyone looking for something to move the air about a small office or cubicle like mine.

Just got the fan. It works well but honestly not worth the price. Very compact which I like, a little on the short end. The air comes out good but the structure is very stiff. It doesnt oscillate (which is my bad, I should’ve read the description closer) but to turn the head requires to pick up the fan & turn the whole thing.

I have a small room & where I have the fan its annoying to have to make this adjustment anytime I want to adjust the direction. I can probably find a fan a 3rd the price that will blow the same & oscillate.

Will be returning.

I bought thid fan because of the great reviews but I returned the next day. Doesn’t cool off AT ALL, I had it in my living room all day and then my bedroom but neither cool off at all, even when I had it to 75% speed.

I also thought it was going to be a quiet fan but oh boy was I wrong, it is if you have a 10-20 % speed, anything above it’s really loud and I couldn’t hear my tv; I had a video call and the person on the other side could hear it going even when it was on the other side of the living room.

Plus, if you place it in your bedroom, the light from the diplay panel it’s to bright you won’t be able to sleep if you like room all dark. Nope, don’t recommend it at all.

I like the fact that it is compact (especially at the base). We have had other, larger fans that used up a lot of floor space. We picked this fan for two main reasons. 1. It is “Energy Smart. ” We run the fan every night – regardless of the season.

2. It’s a Vornado. We have Vornado fans that have lasted us for years. A couple of years ago, we bought fans made by a different manufacturer (from a different retailer). They were sleek and pretty, but they quit working and made the most horrific noise we couldn’t use them.

They were a waste of money. This fan doesn’t have some of the “bells and whistles” that other do, but is functional and hopefully will last more that 18 months. The one drawback, is that I wish we could raise it another few inches.

I bought this fan just before Christmas as i have another vornado non pedestal fan that works great. Now the fan on this does everything it is supposed to- however the base is needlessly fickle and two of the five feet do not touch the floor.

The design of the base is that you sit the feet in side compartments and turn a knob on the bottom to tighten it… it is hard to make sure all feet stay sitting in their place while you tighten it, you get three in and the other two won’t fit so you have to undo it again and they all fall out.

I don’t know how this design got past blueprints, if it had a normal sturdy base this fan would get 5 stars. Can’t believe I paid over $200 for a fan with such a design fault.

The legs have never stayed on. I’m constantly having to unscrew the plastic bolt out then lay the fan down put legs back in trying to keep them from popping out as I’m confusing reassembling the floor legs and tighten this back in.

Now I’m down to leaning it on something to. prevent fall overs at night. Don’t want it to break totally, or new an electric a fire hazard. And all this , That defeats most of the fans purpose of total air flow being clear.

I didn’t get around to shipping it back in time, because I’d physically have to go stand in line at post office where I live. There are No mail returns from my apt complex and no FedEx or UPS in my town it’s more than 20 miles away.

We are in a virus pandemic. I’m a breast cancer and lymes patient. Scary to go out anywhere that requires you have to stand in line in public to return things that don’t work right !!!. Just informed this week my apartment complex of 60 has 4 quarantined renters with covid ( just great!!) Really wanted this product to be a succeed.

In all my years shopping with QVC I’ve only returned 3 items and been disappointed in less than 6 out of hundreds. I bought this based on the companies reputation. At 63 years of age , I’m not into buying anything that won’t last.

My apartment runs hot , located with large windows facing the South in addition. the cancer med I’m on messes with my hormones and causes excessive heat in my body and top that with having to wear a full face sleep apnea machine mask to breath while I sleep.

I have A. C. But need something to circulate the air in my bedroom. I live in the Midwest and don’t turn my thermostat on until it’s below zero outside , because it just stays hot in the apartment, I was so looking forward to gaining some physical relief from this fan, my objective was to have it standing right next to my king bed on the side I sleep on.

But because the legs don’t hold the fan up without coming out I have now leaned the circulator fan against a leg on a small trampoline I leaned against my closet doors so the back of the fan can still pull air through.

Believe me it took weeks to try different ways to get into a leaning on something not to fall and still blow towards me during sleep. If I move the fan to get in my closet I have to start all over fanagling, it to stand up again.

I just wanted something quiet ( which it is) not giant to fit in a path to my bed that stands up on its own ( that’s basic which it does not.

I bought the 533 model in 2020 from either Home Depot or Lowe’s. It worked well when I was using it during the warm weather months. All of a sudden, here we are September 2020 and the fan blades are having trouble getting started.

I’ve taken it apart once already to get to the motor to drop some oil it. Worked like new for 4 days, and on the 5th day, blades had trouble spinning upon turning fan on. I’m going to have to buy a new one again, if this keeps up.

Really well built and sturdy. Nice, shiny white color. Such an attractive, eye-appealing fan! Nothing cheap or flimsy about it. Has an adjustable airflow from soft to strong. I bought 2 different fans previously, but both were cheaply made, for an even more expensive price, but ended up bringing them both promptly back to the store for a refund! My 3rd choice, I thankfully lucked out and stumbled upon this awesome fan! And loved it so much, went back to Walmart again the following week and picked up another Vornado Filippi fan! Well worth it, great value! Maybe will pick up a third on my next trip to Walmart!.

I use a fan in my room to sleep, both to cool me down and for the white noise. My old fan stopped working about a month ago, so I went to the store for another one and found this. At first, I was impressed by the circulation, but after about 30 minutes, the fan began to make a horrible, high-pitched rattling noise.

I switched it to the medium setting and was dismayed to find that the circulation was really weak and the fan was still making that terrible noise. I thought maybe I had to break it in a little for the noise to go away, so I kept using it for two weeks.

During those two weeks, I had some of the worst sleep of my life, and the noise actually managed to get louder. If you are sensitive to noise or value your sanity, this is absolutely not the product for you.

This is my second Flippi – the first lasted about 5 years I think. I just stopped working properly- so I lived without it for about a week. Then I broke down and bought another. I sleep so much better with the fan on.

It’s just enough white noise. It’s bedside and moves just enough air for me. In fact in the winter I point it upward just for the air movement and noise – since I don’t need to be cooled down. I’ve never brought it traveling, but am thinking about it now!.

I had bought this fan to help flow the air. It will not make your room cool, no fan will do that. That is what AC is for. So when you see reviews where people bash a fan because it didn’t cool down their room, well those people have to high of expectations.

A fan will merely move the air around your ac will cool your room. With that out of the way, this fan is quiet and powerful, you will hear more fan noise in the higher levels sure, but it’s all relative what one person finds loud another may not.

For me I could sleep fine at night with the fan in level 1 or 2. I probably could sleep with it on level 3nad well, I just never tried since I didn’t need that much air flow. My only knock on this fan is the build quality.

Overall it’s pretty good but it started making a faint clicking noise when oscillating. It wasn’t very loud but it was annoying and that was after a week. I exchanged it for another and the 2nd fan ended up making a loud squealing noise on level 1 and 2 so I exchanged it again and the 3rd arrived broken in pieces out of the box.

I think the 3rd one though was somebody’s broken return. I think best buy made a mistake in sending they one and not a new one so I returned that and never got another. I might try it again next summer but we’ll see.

Other than the build quality and QC issues this fan is great but given all the issues it’s probably too expensive. A $50 or $60 price would be more appropriate for this fan.

I purchased this as a replacement for the Honeywell Home – QuietSet Tower fan (which was such a disappointment). And although this one isn’t as quiet, it still far exceeds my expectations (I have to sleep with nearly no noise and absolutely no light).

It is powerful, reliable, and absolutely does the job. The remote is nice, the style is great, and it is overall a great fan. I use mine in my master bedroom, for more air flow (outside of what a normal ceiling fan provides).

I live in AZ, and to avoid high electric bills while trying to cool down 1 room in the house when all others are not being used, I decided to try a tower fan. My usual perfect temp is between 70-72 at night, but that makes for a very unpleasant electric bill.

And no lie, I can turn the a. c. to 76 (which is usually NEVER an option for me at night) and leave the tower fan on while I sleep. and I sleep like a champ. It keeps the bedroom so much cooler than I thought it would! I highly recommend this tower fan.

This is a terrific fan with a terrible base? When I first turned it on I loved it, then in about 30 seconds it started rattling. Not terribly, but it was annoying. I had noticed it wobbled in the base so I took the base off and the rattle was gone.

I put some of those fuzzy stickers that you put in the bottom of furniture onto the base where the bottom of the fan sits. The screws still fit and it’s much more snug now. I also put some fuzzies on the rubber feet of the base and no more rattling! Once I decided to keep it I removed that hideous chrome thing.

Is that supposed to add support? It doesn’t do anything. Now I love this fan!.

I have been using this fan for just a short time but I use it every night to sleep. I enjoy this fan for that purpose as its about as quiet as you can get and still move air around a room. Its sleek design is easy to blend into a room.

Pros: * Quiet * Remote to adjust with a timer you can set in hour increments (Half hour would have been even better but its still a nice perk) * Fan has full horizontal width adjustments which can allow a wide range of settings.

* Easy to assemble. * Can remove cover to clean with vacuum no filters to buy. Cons: * The base is slightly off after assembling, though its purely cosmetic and is still stable. its probably less the 1/16″ off but its still a noticeable cosmetic glitch.

* The second noticeable.

Thought this would be great for the desk. Few issues with this. 1. The section where the air comes back shoots only one way, so the majority of the fan has zero air flow at all. Nada, nothing so you have to just hope the breeze comes back soon, which is part of the next issue 2.

the control for the oscillating is terrible. There is no 360, no matter what I tried it went most of the way and stopped, not stopped and went back, just stopped, no more turning at all. If i had it pointing at me and just wanted a partial circle from that spot it would spin all the way around and go the other direction, again tried many times to fiddle and no luck 3.

Oscillating itself is not good. It stops then starts again as if it had its own mind. All in all, I would take one with better controls and a wider airflow over this anytime. I probably will never take it back, so I will just keep trying to use it until it ends up in the garage forever.

I’ll be honest I was skeptical of the Atom1 at first, but was pleasantly surprised. It has a nice sleek and modern design to it and is light weight. I got the black which has a nice gloss finish to it.

The controls were a bit tricky at first. The control panel being touch and no buttons was a bit sensitive. I found myself accidentally changing setting when I was handeling the unit. But the instructions were fine to understand and also had pictures to aid if needed.

The fan design has a small vertical slot for airflow which at first I was sure wouldn’t out out much air. Boy was I wrong this little fan has some power. I tested the range of it and I could feel a good breeze quite a ways away.

I was impressed for sure. Great product!.

I have owned Vornado’s for over 40 years. Currently, I have a 630, 683 pedestal, a Pivot, and two of these 530’s. These two are my 4th and 5th 530’s It is only now that these last two Stopped Working, like the last two that I realize that THESE FANS ARE DEFECTIVE by manufacture.

The fans work beautifully for one season, THEN Slowly But Surely STOP WORKING You can Only Clean the Fan Blades THATS NOT THE PROBLEM The Problem Is – The Motor Sucks Up Dust, CANT BE CLEANED, And SEIZES UP First you Can’t Tilt It Upwards Without it Making Loud Noises when started THEN IT JUST STOPS WORKING and Overheats.

I have had 5 of these, THEY ALL SEIZED and are garbage. IT IS CLEAR Vornado Knows This – READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, they all say the same thing. If you are thinking of buying one of these Make sure you CHECK THE MAUFACTURE DATE on the Unit you buy Your 5 year warranty runs from Then – unless you happen to be able to locate your sales receipt, YOU WILL BE OUT OF LUCK.

I have had my Vornado 530 for ten years. It’s been running day and night for most of the last ten years, and it’s never failed me once. I disassemble it to give it a good cleaning now and then, and put a few drops of bearing lubricant on the motor shaft, and this thing is as good as new.

Can’t recommend it enough, or anything from Vornado for that matter. I like having the air moving in my room, and I also enjoy the white-noise. No droning or rattling or clicking – just a nice motor and turbine sound.

This air circulator has exceeded my expectations. I didn’t understand how it differed from a standard fan, but decided to give it a try, since I’m a huge of Vornado products. I’m so thankful I purchased it! I am amazed at how well it cools an entire room.

I could go on and on about this product, but no matter what I say will not do the air circulator justice. I recommend you buy it and experience it first hand. You won’t be disappointed! Great job Vornado!!.

This fan has a nice small footprint, and provides excellent airflow. I purchased based on a review of fans suitable for cooling while using an indoor bike trainer. It does an excellent job preventing sweat dripping off my body, keeping me cool and avoiding sweat damage to the bike.

I use medium speed, and as expected it has modest volume, but not too bad. Vornado has a great 5 year warranty, is American made, and it is very sturdy and portable, with good adjustability for directing the airflow.

Follow the directions for placing the washers properly between the frame and fan body to be sure the twist knobs lock the fan in place so it doesn’t slip out of your preferred position. Once set, you can fine tune the position without need to unscrew the twist knobs.

I definitely would purchase this again.

I needed fans to circulate cool air from my Hessaire mc37v evaporative cooler in my garage to a workshop inside the garage. I shopped around at larger commercial fans but was not wanting the noise or poor reliability.

The Vornado 293HD works great! I bought the yellow and green model to circulate cool air around my 1500 sg foot garage. Combined with the evap cooler it has lowered the temperature in my garage from 95 to 80 degrees which allows me to work and workout comfortably.

They are quiet and powerful in a small package. I highly recommend these fans over anything else at this price. Sylvane shipped promptly and their price was the best I found. Thank You!.

The first Vornado fan I purchased was a similar floor model circa 1992. It was of similar design, but was not made from metal. It died recently, and I have sought a replacement since then. I can’t seem to get it repaired because it functioned far beyond its warranty expiration, and the plastic replacements have not stood the test of time like their predecessor.

This model moves the air in the room like my first one, and has begun to move the air and cool my living/diving room like a champ! I am so excited about it, and look forward to its ownership of the corner of the room.

Since neither my husband nor I like central air conditioning we’ve relied on open windows and ceiling fans to keep our place cool in the summer. It’s an open-plan triplex and it would probably take a lot to keep the place cool with central air anyway.

But it does get warm and we have to close the windows when it rains, which makes the main floor, especially, really stuffy, so I thought the Air Circulator would be the perfect thing for keeping the air moving around and keeping our main living area a little cooler.

It doesn’t quite work for that, perhaps because our ceiling is 13 feet high. The ceiling fan has proved more effective for moving air and creating a breeze and I can’t run both the ceiling fan and the air circulator in the same area because one counters out the other, so I brought the air circulator upstairs to the bedroom where the ceiling is lower.

I know it’s an air circulator, but I’m not entirely sure how much that differs from a fan because we still tend to use it so that it blows directly on us. Sometimes when we’re not in the room I leave it directly opposite the facing wall in the hopes that by moving air around it will cool the room down, but it still gets hot in there.

Admittedly, I shouldn’t expect it to perform like an air conditioner. I was going to return it since it doesn’t quite work for what I wanted, but I feel like we do need the air circulation in the bedroom even though I may not notice much of a difference unless it’s blowing directly on us.

It’s noisier than I thought it would be, but more like the sound of a powerful motor and the force of the air rather than an annoyingly loud hum or racket, so it’s not wholly unpleasant. When we use it at night we keep it on the lower speed and have it facing toward us and that’s when it makes a big difference.

I really like how it looks, so that’s the other reason why I decided to keep it. I’m somewhere in the middle on recommending this air circulator. I wouldn’t say “no,” and some people may have different needs so it might work perfectly for them.

It doesn’t achieve what I’d hoped, but it’s still good to have, I like how it looks, I prefer it over a big box fan and I know it will last a lot longer. Between my office and home, I have five fans and they’re all Vornados.

One star deducted for the noise, other than that it’s perfect. I even like the color and I knew from other reviews that the color in the photo is a lot lighter than what it actually is. That was ok with me.

The style suits the style of my house and they seem to cool the air nicely. Bought this size to help my window units circulate cooler air around my house, and I bought the smaller one for my bedroom.

I haven’t slept with it on high yet, but on low it works great. Plus, these are great quality which makes me feel slightly better about the cost (but not completely).

I’ve been using this fan/air circulator for a few weeks now. I purchased based on: (1) appearance (I didn’t want a big, ugly box of plastic), (2) Wirecutter reviews of fans and air circulators, (3) range of dB levels and fan speeds – I was looking for a fan with a very low speed and noise level on the lowest setting, and (4) not having to reach around to the back of the fan to access the control knob.

This fan meets all of those requirements. It is very quiet, with a continuous hum since it’s not oscillating (like hmmmmmm vs. hmmMMMmmmMMMmmm, if that makes sense). The only thing I would change is that the knob is a little hard to grip to turn.

The gold bar that goes across the knob isn’t really tall enough compared to the black knob base to really hold it, so you end up sort of awkwardly trying to turn the entire knob. It’s especially awkward if you are trying to turn the speed all the way from “off” (12-o-clock position) clockwise all the way around to the lowest setting (10-o-clock position).

So I knocked off a couple stars for design. I took one star off for value because, despite how beautiful it is compared to a box of plastic, in the end you’re still paying $130 for a fan. But, you know, gotta live your best life.

I am in California and bought this fan after the 2020 fires began in mid-August. Over the last month, there have only been a few days when the otside air was safe enough to open the windows. The Alchemy fan has exceeded our expectations! All of the moving parts are fluid and well-assembled.

The metals feel solid and expertly cut out, and the powder coating is meticulous. Though it’s not a super-powerful fan, it does have a range of settings – it is best suited for circulating air. Overall, it is very quiet and doesn’t noisily bother anyone watching TV or playing video games.

Since we knew whatever fan we bought would need to be a permanent fixture in our living room, we wanted to spend a little extra for something that looked nice and would LAST for years to come. This fan is a welcome addition to our home.

This is a beautiful yet highly functional fan. We needed something for the bedroom & I love that this is so minimalistic. No intrusive blue lights like most appliances today, no noise from an oscillator- just an air circulator that works as designed, is very quiet, & looks fantastic.

It’s well built & does a great job in our 12×14’ room.

Prior to purchasing this fan I researched other Vornado models, different brands & read all customer’s reviews. I’m so pleased with this air circulator. We actually wanted one that put out different ranges of power & sound.

We like to have “white noise” while sleeping & when this model is cranked up to 99 speed it fits that bill perfectly. The amount of air it moves is amazing. There are speed levels from 1 to 99. A perfect for level for every need or desire.

It’s also very quiet at lower (but effective) speed levels. The REMOTE CONTROL is an absolute bonus!! I have not had any problems or issues with the remote whatsoever. I highly recommend this model unit to everyone.

I have owned dozens of fans, many of them vornado brand, & this 1 by far is the best! All vornado fans claim to have the feature where it moves air all around the room if you can find the right place to point it in the room.

Well, I have never successfully found the “sweet spot” in any room. Yes most of them are sturdier & blow a bit harder than other brands of fans, but that was the extent of it. However, this fan blew me away (literally & figuratively!) As soon as I plugged it in & saw just how hard it blows at the highest setting, I was in love! This fan moves air all around the room no matter where you have it pointed.

The remote control worked perfectly at first. But after using it 20 times or so, I found it impossible to get it to skip through the # settings 5 at a time like it’s supposed to when you hold down the up / “+” button.

So I decided to try clicking the circle on the remote in the 6 o’clock position to see if it would maybe fix it, & it worked! The feature stopped working a 2nd time but I fixed it again by doing the same thing.

Seems like maybe it gets stuck or something. They definitely need to work on the remote, but I’m still VERY satisfied with the purchase.

We just love this oscillating tower fan! It was super fast and easy to get it ready to use, just snap the two pieces together to form the base and screw in 8 screws to attach to the fan (have a Phillips screw driver available).

It’s very sturdy, I was afraid it might be top-heavy or flimsy, but it’s not. It can be used manually, just push the power button to start it, with multiple speeds and a timer for automatic shut off, and the choice of oscillation or not.

It’s quick to set up with Alexa – our bedroom has an Alexa dot for an alarm and music/news, a smart light (who wants to wake up to 100% light brightness?!) and now a smart fan. Alexa easily recognizes voice commands which are intuitive, even if you forget.

It’s pretty quiet, actually provides a bit of soft white noise. And it’s attractive – very stylish looking. Great product!.

This tower fan does the job and is better than similar looking products on the market. The controls are easy and intuitive. The included remote is convenient and reliable. However, compared to other Vornado fans, the performance does leave a little to be desired.

At this performance, a DC model makes a lot more sense. If they were to ever release a DC version of this fan, I’d say go for that instead.
