The games that it can comply with, are truly enhanced, with this item. So much more immersive and I did not think that possible. In game’ holding the weapon of choice in front of yourself and being able to lean down to take a look through the sights.

As a young whipper Snapper (sad but true. I am nearly 60), playing Doom and such like. This would have seamed to be an unreal possibility. I am like a child and thoroughly enjoy being so. I would recommend that anyone with this game system and compatible game/s, to purchase one.

Had to go through the hassle of buying one from Japan thanks to basically no stores in Australia having stock literally 8 weeks or so after launch. EbGames told me it was ‘discontinued’. The annoying part is after playing FarPoint and knowing there’s maybe 4 other games out or nearly coming soon that are/will be compatible, I have to wonder if this controller is already obsolete! Considering hype over 6 months or more about its release, that would be total joke frankly.

Guess we’ll find out in due course!.

The Aim Controller was out of stock here in the US and so I ordered one directly from Japan. The price was high, but it included free shipping. I got the Aim Controller a few weeks after ordering and it did not disappoint.

Playing FarPoint with it is sheer bliss, you feel like you are in the action, much more than a typical FPS in 2D. If you have PSVR and have even a passing interest in FPS games, then this is a must buy.

I was only able to use the remote for one day before it stopped working randomly. I enjoyed using the remote for the apps I downloaded specifically for use of the remote. I have tried contacting Samsung, to no avail, I just use the VR headset alone.

I could not ask for a better controller it works all the samsung vr apps I have including oculus. Thank you seller.

All buttons and sticks are easily programmable and they immediately update in real time, no restart needed (must first install the stick’s driver and software). 12 buttons, two joysticks and a switch tab.

The base platform is wide and heavy enough to keep it firmly planted on a flat surface so the entire device does not tip over when doing aggressive moves with the stick. Product weight says 2 pounds, but to me it feels more like 4 to 6 pounds.

Moving the stick feels firm, which is good so you don’t over shoot your movements and frantically move back to align. The plastic material feels solid as steel. USB cable is long enough, about 6ft. Can’t beat the price! The corner holes make it easy to set on a DIY side table if you build your own gaming seat simulator, you can use the holes as channel locks or run straps through them.

I honestly can’t think of any cons with this thing. It’s perfect.

I looked everywhere for this stick at MSRP. Finally found it at Micro Center, whom seem to be the only ones out there not willing to sell multiple things to a bot. 1 per house hold. Thank you Micro Center! Anyhow, I use this in a dual stick setup for my games, like Elite: Dangerous.

The stick has an unbelievable amount of buttons for the price, and most games allow you to use them as macros (I think that’s the correct term) so if you press and hold button 1, for example, and then press button 2, it could be assigned to an entirely different action.

This makes your usage increase beyond the simple 12 button scheme. The stick itself moves smoothly and without resistance. Compared to my older Logitech Attack 3, this thing is leagues ahead of it. The build quality is superior, though there is an uncomfortable plastic seam on the handle, but you get a much needed change in the palm rest at the base of the stick, a curved button for your thumb, a HAT joystick and an easy to reach “dial”, which can be used for thrust.

The software you can download for it is a must have. Seriously. I couldn’t even get it to work in games without it, despite the sticks appear. Within the software, you can adjust all sorts of things for the sticks to fine tune it further.

Overall, I am quite pleased by the product and would completely recommend it, especially if you have a tight budget!.

I got this to use for Elite Dangerous. It was on sale and at the time of my purchase $20. I been using it for several weeks already, it feels good in the hand, the buttons and the directional input at the top feels fine, nothing feels like it’s going to suddenly break on it, I’ve had some intense events happen in the game and I was yanking on it hard during that.

If a game doesn’t pick it up then you’ll have to download their software and then you can map everything on it. I’d say this is a pretty good entry level joystick to get, the price is pretty good. The one thing that would make this better is some way to add weights to it as it is pretty light, the base of it does have a rubberized pad at each corner, but in my experience thus far, if all 4 aren’t making contact with the surface it can start to tip over.

Works great. I’ve purchased several of the caulking guns that they have in stock at the Walmart stores and they always seem to break under the pressure of just doing their basic job. Got tired of that so I decided to order one online.

It looked like it was built better and sturdier than the ones they have in the stores, and it definitely is.

Awesome caulk gun. Well built, truly no drip, lays down a nice even bead. Makes the whole process a lot smoother.

Setup requires USB 3. 0 and good new video card with hdmi currently running a RTX 2070 GPU on a Ryzen 9 processor with a M. 2 SSD. It worked for about 11 months then the system would crash and lock during game play.

Sometimes it would lock up on just calibrating the VR setting during setup. I spoke with oculus support for 2 weeks trying to reslove the problem. They had no solutions. They had me unistall and reinstalll the oculus software, update is multiple time.

I sent them crash logs multiple times. Their last solution that did not work was reinstall the software for a 5th time. Of course it did not work. I run this Oculus on a gaming PC on windows 10 that I built.

All my PC drivers sofrware is up to date. I highly do not recommend buying this device. Oculus does not have a repair shop and there is no local repair shops that can fix this device. It has become a paper weight!.

There were initial problems installing the Software. With the very good support from Oculus, we traced it to the virus protection software and, once that was uninstalled, the installation went well. The free demo programs from Oculus were impressive and give you a good idea what the unit’s capabilities are, as far as VR games are concerned.

However, I had bought the unit to bring an additional level of experience to watching 3D movies and documentaries and this did not work out too well. To watch this kind of material, you need an additional program (I bought SkyBox from Oculus) to convert the standard video files to the format needed by the headset.

It works reasonably well, but compared to my LG 3D TV (passive glasses) or the Panasonic 3D projector (active glasses), it is quite disappointing. The colours are more washed out, the resolution is inferior to the TV and projector (both 1k) and SkyBox places you in a movie theatre with a large screen.

I’m better off watching 3D material on the TV and the glasses are much more convenient than the fairly heavy VR headset. I am sure the unit itself can do an excellent job with games which are designed for it.

My disappointment is mainly due to higher expectations and using material for which the unit was not designed. Do I recommend it? Yes, if you use it for 3D games – No, if you want to use it for 3D movies and documentaries (eg.

IMAX), unless it is the only choice you have viewing such material.

Bought this for my 15 year old for his PC. We’re sharing it now. He doesn’t know it yet, but we are. I will let him use it on his and I will use it on mine lol This is a fantastic bit of kit for the money, considering other setups have complicated base stations you need to add in and configure.

A friendly reminder to those considering, please look at the Oculus website, it tells you, you will need a fairly decent PC to be able to use this and there is even a small tool you can download as a spec checker.

I can’t believe how many negative reviews there are on this because people can’t be bothered to do some simple research before making a £300-£400 purchase. My only criticism if there had to be one is the tethering to Facebook.

I can’t stand social media in most of its forms, so to be forced into using an associated Facebook account to be able to access the Oculus store is a bit of a bind. Steam works seamlessly, download and play as ever with little to no set up issues.

If you have the PC power, go for this. If you still have a VR capable PC, you may want to consider the Quest 2 and get a compatible cable (Quest 2 becomes Rift S(ish) with one) which can be found for around £20-£30.

Enjoying it immensely, Job Simulator is a hoot and Phasmophobia is pant wetting good fun. If you’re thinking of getting into VR, do it but please research it first and be sure your equipment is up to the job.

THIS IS A FULL REVIEW Finding a review to explain exactly what the VR experience entails is a difficult one Many simply state it being hard to explain and just buy one to find out The problem with this is that it is a very expensive way of just jumping in blind to find out for yourself I made the plunge after years of doubt, and having unsuccessfully found anywhere to trial one Well, i wasnt disappointed Trying to describe the VR experience is in fact as hard as others have said, but i think the experience can be described in order to give a sense of what it offers Visuals – i can best describe my experience, using the Oculus Quest, as giving an immersive, 3D / holographic type of experience.

Back in the 80’s our school had a travelling science group who showed us holograms, looking through boxes or tubes, seeing the visual holograms of certain objects, animals etc. These images appeared 3 dimensional, and also appeared to be, in a sense, floating within this infinite 3 dimension space.

This is the experience that VR, in general, offers. Take Robo Recall for example, my first outing in to VR It immerses you in what feels (or the brain is tricked) like a real life city, albeit in an obvious computer game graphical visual.

However, where it shines is that interactions while fighting/shooting the robots, in that they appear correctly, at various distances, scaled correctly, shadow details, etc and the rendered ‘box’ of the robots is incredibly accurate.

‘Grabbing or shooting at the robot, gives a real sense that they are actually there, in front of you (or behind) and you find yourself reacting automatically to duck dodge or block them. VR is this ability to construct a 3 dimensional arena/world, and tricking the brain to immerse you as if it were real.

The only thing that holds you on to actual reality is the obvious computer rendered images you see (and the occasional hitting your knuckles on a nearby desk or wall Oculus Quest Unit Hardware This unit is my first jump in to VR, so i have nothing to compare it to, however, I’ve bought many an item over the years, and can clearly judge that this item is of top rated build quality The plastics are hard, feel sturdy, have differing surface finishes depending on if its where you would normally hold or touch.

The straps are adjustable, feel strong and hard wearing. The foam padding is comfy and soft, and does an excellent job of block out light. The lenses / screens have an adjustment facility for those with eye issues.

I have on eye with long distance issues, however i can wear my oculus with out my glasses and have no issues with seeing clearly. It is possible to buy lense inserts from the Oculus approved company by giving them your prescription I havent opened up the unit to look at the internals (nor will I), but this unit uses OLED screens with a high resolution, a high brightness, and the blackest of blacks.

The refresh rate doesnt cause any tearing or slowdowns when things get fast paced. The battery has a supposed life of around 2 hours, ive achieved slightly higher than this, but it will depend on the software, games etc that you are running.

The touch controllers are superb, and i was blown away with how accurate the xyz position and displaying of these were on the unit. Software This area was a surprise for me, id had a quick look and saw a few games ertc, but it wasnt until i installed the oculus app on my phone (this is required on initial first turn on of unit) and the oculus app on my pc (not required to play on oculus), that i saw the shear amount of additional software tools available.

The Quest can be run as a standalone unit, using just the Quest store for software. However, plug in a cable and attach it to your VR capable PC opens up a whole ‘rift’ of possibilities. This software, Oculus Link’ enables the quest to access the Rift store, hereby giving full access to the complete list of software available on the PC based Rift store, thus opening even more games and apps.

From there you can also instal SteamVR, and access the VR content on the Steam store. This whole process is a simple case of buying the correct USB-C to C cable (must be capable of delivering power and data, normally advertised as 10GB cables) and allowing the oculus pc software detect your headset, install the Oculus Link software (in Beta, but its works well), then on the Quest home screen, you simply click on the beta link button and it transfers you to the Rift home screen and store.

For steam it requires SteamVR (which is in your ‘tools’ folder not games) The oculus software enables you to map out your room, drawing around everything using the touch controllers, this gives you a safe area, and the system will bring up a grid on your eye screens when you get too close (this can be adjusted and changed very easily if you use the Quest in another room etc.

As the quest version is primarily wire free, portability function is great on this) run out of characters lol.

Love love love my oculus quest! It is surreal when first putting it on. The graphics are amazing as well as the tracking. It has a Guardian to keep you safe so it tracks your movements to alert you if you move out of the safe zone.

The games are fantastic quality and it offers some amazing experiences not offered elsewhere. I like that I can bring my computer screen onto some of the apps to collaborate with others. It really brings some future tech to the current.

I highly recommend this to everyone! It is a must have and must experience!.

I love my Oculus Quest. I originally bought it to help me enjoy the VR films showing during the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW. Attending a VR film party during the quarantine was wonderful. It was the first time in months that I was able to actually attend a party with real people.

Even though it was virtual, it felt real and was a lot of fun. I also love using my Oculus to do Supernatural virtual workouts. It’s added a completely new element to my fitness routine. Again, that was a lifesaver during the quarantine.

Plus, the Oculus app syncs to my Apple Fitness app so I can track the impact of my virtual workouts. The only downside to the headset is that it doesn’t really accommodate Black hair. If my hair is in an Afro it will leave it mushed and misshaped.

If I’m wearing a wig or braids, it can become uncomfortable. Also, you have to be very careful not to get any hair product on the lens. All in all though, I’m really happy that I bought it.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a neat glimpse into the future bogged down by a plethora of issues. Privacy concerns withstanding – as Meta is aiming to monitor every movement and facial expression one makes whilst using the device – there are many practical problems with the design of the device itself.

It only has 3 different IPD settings, meaning that anyone whose IPD falls in between or outside of the presets will have an issue with blurring vision and an unclear image. This was a huge part of what I disliked about my experience with it, as it gave me significant headaches and visual distortion well after stopping use of the device.

For clarity’s sake, I used it for about 30 minutes at a time, once a day for a few days in a row. Many people tend to complain about feeling motion sickness when using these devices and while I did feel a little goopy in the gut, I didn’t enjoy the sensation of motion enough to get to where this was a serious issue for me.

I grew up playing video games regularly and still do occasionally, so it was entertaining to see how I could interact with games in a 3D space. That being said, none of the games felt very satisfying, and these days if I want to play a video game I certainly don’t want to be strapped into an uncomfortable near-eye projector to be fully engaged in the experience.

The headstrap is a well-documented nightmare and it’s absurd that they charge extra for a higher-quality one instead of changing out the one included. They finally added a silicone cover to the padding around the eyes after countless complaints about the foam irritating people’s skin, and I’m not surprised as it feels kind of like fine sandpaper to the touch.

What would have been the most relaxing experiences were dulled by low-resolution image quality (on a high-speed connection, no less) and in the case of multiplayer games, a disturbing amount of young players – well below the recommended age for using the device in the first place.

It’s a shame that parents don’t monitor their kids better to prevent this from happening and instead slap them into a device that will invariably detriment their developing sense of balance and spatial recognition.

Further still, it is disappointing that Facebook (now rebranded as Meta) has done so little to mitigate these issues. Ultimately, perhaps this product is merely not for me. However, I would recommend against it to anyone who is looking to use it for relaxation and absolutely insist that nobody use this for long periods as it can be dangerous – as is stated in the health and safety information included with the device.

I’m very impressed with this headset! I wrestled with whether to pay $100 more for double the storage capacity, but after perusing apps in the Oculus store and averaging app sizes, I determined there was too little value in that.

Down the road, if I get REALLY into VR in general, I might wind up regretting that decision, but I honestly think that would be the only thing I’d regret about this device. Oculus was experiencing some kind of server issue that prevented me from completing registration and setup right away, so it was about 4 hours after I unboxed it that I was able to use it.

And boy, was I blown away! I still have a VR headset that requires a phone be stuck in it, but I haven’t used it in a while for just that reason. This one, of course, doesn’t need that, and the resolution is really, really good.

Your IPD (Inter-pupillary distance), or the distance between your eyes, can be accommodated by selecting from 3 different widths. I read one review that said the maximum is 68mm, but their IPD was 72.

In that case, the image will appear blurry. For that reason, I suggest checking your IPD before you purchase. What’s in the box is simple, the headset, two controllers (with batteries), a spacer for those who wear glasses and a silicone piece that makes it comfortable to wear against your face.

It’s very well balanced and doesn’t feel heavy to me, but there are optional head straps you can get if you find it too front-heavy. I also like the passthrough feature that lets you see your real-world environment if/when you need to.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and immersiveness of the sound, but I will probably get some ear buds soon so I can get a fuller volume level (I usually have the volume on about 6-7). But it sounds great.

The ‘Home’ environment, which is set up like a house or apartment, is really cool, and there are several different designs available. I found the battery life, stated as about two hours, to be pretty accurate, but I bought a 10-foot USB cable so that I could have it plugged in and playing while it’s charging (yes, you can use it fully while it’s charging).

There is a head strap available with a place for an optional battery to extend use time without worrying about a cable, but that doesn’t seem necessary to me, at least not at this point. I just got done using it, and I was in VR for about 3 1/2 hours, and battery life was still 82%.

So far, I have used it for probably 20 hours total since I’ve had it, and the controller batteries are still at 100%. I’m sure that depends on what you’re doing, though. I have watched a couple of movies, and with the ability to have a curved screen (or flat if you prefer) that views even larger than my 60″ TV, it’s just amazing.

I’ve also played a few games, watched some videos of dancers, concerts, and awesome, immersive tours of places like Switzerland, Italy, the Matterhorn, Great Lakes, under-sea stuff and so many more. All of it has been awesome.

And so far, I have found enough good, free content that I haven’t gotten around to purchasing anything yet! Another effective feature is the voice control. You can do almost anything using voice commands, including powering the device off.

I haven’t explored that feature too deeply yet, but I have started and stopped apps and games, checked local time and weather and performed several other functions just by telling it what I want. You just double-press the ‘Oculus’ button to get it to listen for voice commands One complaint I know many will have, is that setting up the device REQUIRES a Facebook account.

BUT, you can set it so that your FB profile info, including your profile name, will not be revealed in VR if you happen to do some multi-person thing, and neither is your Oculus username revealed to your FB contacts, so that doesn’t bother me at all.

The only thing I wish, and this is so minor it’s really almost petty, but I do wish it came in black. That isn’t even worth deducting stars over. Overall, I just love it, and I highly recommend it!.

The headset is way to uncomfortable to wear longer then 2 hours Been playing consistently for over 2 weeks and still get motion sickness fairly easily so at best I’m getting 2 hour gaming sessions before either the blood in my face is squeezed out and it feels bruised on my cheeks and forehead.

There are solutions to this but they’re mostly third party. On top of all this, everything has to be rebuilt instead of just transferred like a phone would be. Instead of having the same apps as your phone, those same apps need to be rebuilt from the ground up, which means not only is there next to zero useful apps, but the ones you can find are entirely different from what they actually are on android or pc.

Instead of having one epic system, we have three slightly infinitely broken systems that can never be completed until they agree to be one system. Be willing to jump through a lot of hoops to get things like basic android apps working and getting screen sharing with you computer working easily without some serious modifications and know how.

2022 will hopefully changed this, but based on how the economy has been playing this out, I’d say they’re going to take 10 years just to get N64 working again instead of just running android with the android store.

Aside from all this, its essentially the same game over and over rebranded and reskinned. Either shooting games, tag games, or table tennis like games. Some good experiences to be had, but not enough yet to make it worth a full fledge console price when you’ll have to stretch to get 200 hours out of this thing when you can accidently dump that amount of time into a computer or game console without even realizing this.

Where as the Oculus will cause you a great deal of pain, discomfort, and anger over how annoying it is to use this headset as a virtual desktop From the moment you turn it on you’ll start having thoughts like: Why isn’t this done yet? Why can’t I find this app? why doesn’t this basic app that’s over 15years old work properly? Why can I stream fast past games to kids around the world where we can real time shoot each other with guns, but I have to pay 150$ yearly subscription just to stream my screen to my headset? Why is it such a crap experience when streaming 3 feet to my headset? I’ve been playing real time COD since I was 13 years old over wifi, yet some how, some way, it takes to much information to have real time updates with a computer 3 feet infront of me.

I bought this unit just to see what VR was like with a Samsung smartphone. It provided the answers I was looking for. First, I have to say that this 324 headset works fine with a S9+. So contrary to other reviewers, there should no problems with a newer Samsung with a c type USB connection (S8 thru S9+).

Software installation (app) was smooth and no problems. In fact the installation detected old firmware in the remote and automatically updated it. I give the SW app five stars. Otherwise, I have to say that the resolution of a smartphone (even the S9+) with the headset is only just adequate.

Here we run into what other reviewers call the screen door effect. It is just plain too few pixels available. For this I give the complete headset/phone four stars. However, there’s a much more annoying optical effect.

Off axis viewing is annoying. If you look outside of where your head is pointing, the images are split. That is to say, the image`s colors are askew. I reminds me of the old fashioned 3D movie image.

Come on guys, this is the 21th century, there are len designs that can fix this effect. For this I give the the optics of the headset three stars.

It is a very good experience. It helps me see more details. It helps me changing my mode. It has an issue that it hurts my eyes a little because of focus of the lenses and the brightness. All over it is very good.

So far my experience is fun.. maybe not as quality as the oculus quest or even the oculus go but still fun enough to play with it. For the price its well worth it i think.

Overall the best standalone VR headset out there. Not only can the Oculus Quest run some great games on its own, it can also act as a PCVR headset with Oculus Link. This allows you to enjoy all of what PCVR has to offer on your quest for as little as $20 (10ft USB3 C to A).

Better yet, there’s an app on the Quest store called Virtual Desktop ($20) which, with a decent wifi connection, allows you to stream your desktop to your headset. With a little sideloading, this can include playing PCVR games wire-free creating a more immersive experience.

My only complaint about the Quest is the comfort aspect, specifically the front-heaviness of the headset. However, this can be easily overcome with a few modifications. My two must haves are a front cover (can get a good one at VR Cover) and a counter-weight attached to the back of the headset.

The front cover provides extra cushioning for your face, allowing an even tighter fit without feeling uncomfortable. As for the counter-weight, you can buy one online or create a DIY one with stuff you got lying around.

Regardless of what you choose, a counter-weight works wonders since it counteracts the front heaviness by moving the center of mass to the top of your head. In my opinion, the Oculus Quest stands above all other VR headsets on the market in terms of bang for your buck.

It’s performance competes with other major headsets but the Quest’s untethered and versitile nature is it’s major selling point.

The Quest is a truly amazing VR experience. On par in many ways with high end VR solutions at a fraction of the cost. Pros: Crisp screens with minimal screen door effect. Comfortable field of view Fantastic controllers that let you interact with the virtual world in all the ways you’ll need to.

Great gesturing system that feels natural. Comfortable headset that’s surprisingly light and comfortable considering it’s got everything built into it. 6dof allows for a great room scale experience that can support sizes far larger than any other solution on the market.

Wireless. spin round and round as much as you want without worry of a cord wrapping around you or getting tangled. Build in CPU/GPU. a step up from wireless. having the computer built into the headset allows you to bring your VR anywhere you want and customize your VR experience to your suroundings.

Even wireless solutions for PCVR headsets can’t allow for this level of customization of your physical: VR environment. Can charge/play. allowing you to use relatively inexpensive battery packs to keep the headset topped off for nearly endless gameplay.

Cons: Low end graphics: many games have to be downscaled in many ways to make it onto the quest. Some are barely noticeable (in case the game was not demanding int he first place), while others take a notcable hit.

3 hour battery requires continued charging if you want to play for long periods of time or pass it around. A bit of a pain if you don’t actively keep it charged (or have a power bank). Oculus is especially restrictive on which games make it to the quest.

This is a double edged sword, as you’ll end up with a library of mostly fantastic games, but also be missing out on great games that they won’t approve.

If you do not have a vr ready graphics card in your computer then get this. Also do not do any rollercoaster vr you will get motion sickness. Also what i did to salve motion sickness was drink canada dry ginger ale all the time.

This helps stop motion sickness also if you feel the sweats coming on remove some clothing to cool off or wear shorts and no shirt and turn on ac. Also games like journey if the gods can give a bit of motion sickness.

Just continue to drink ginger ale. Also get a battery pack type c port and velcro and velcro a power bank to the back with a type c to type a usb cord to charge the oculus quest while you play so the main batter last longer.

Also buy rechargeable AA batteries because the controllers take AA batteries 1 battery in each controller. Also have good lightning for the controllers to have good tracking. The most fun games for me is vader immortal 3 in the dojo section and space pirate trainer.

Journey of the gods is unique and awesome. Also the wizards is awesome game with magical powers you can upgrade. The fps is fine. The games make the graphics most of the time. It is not really the. R headset because i was looking at oculus quest vs valve index and oculus rift and i cant really see any terrible graphics unless the game itself is just not madefrom awesome rendering software.

It’s a sleek, completely black headset made out of sturdy plastic. Samsung made it comfier last year, and the version I tried out here felt pleasant to wear even in a boiling-hot demo room. Along with having a USB-C connection and the right inserts to fit the new duo of phones, the updated Gear VR has a wider field of view – so more content can be seen without running into black bars – thanks to new 42mm lenses and it now supports 101-degree rotation.

It’s also backwards-compatible with older Samsung phones, I assume as it will be replacing those models entirely rather than just sitting alongside it. The biggest addition to the whole setup is the wand-like controller, which was actually first shown off at MWC earlier in the year.

My biggest dislike about the Gear VR was its frustrating head-mounted touchpad that made playing anything other than basic games a complete chore, but having a physical remote that you can point and twirl remedies this issue completely.

If you’ve seen any other virtual reality headset, then the Samsung Gear VR won’t be that foreign a concept. Around the edge of the portion that sits against your face is two layers of foam that makes wearing the Gear VR a very comfortable experience.

Where the last iteration felt heavy on your face from the weight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the latest edition with its newer phones is much lighter and more comfortable. It attaches to your head via a set of two straps.

There’s a chunky white portion to this top strap, which has another padded leather section for additional comfort. Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge feature a 5. 1-inch display with a 1,440 x 2,560p Quad HD resolution.

They’re powered by the octo-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB of RAM. While this is top-end for a smartphone, but when that resolution is being split between two lenses you’ll start seeing pixellation and lower quality virtual reality content than your eyes are expecting.

The one major issue I had with the Samsung Gear VR is the lenses misting up. Although Samsung claims it has a design system that limits this, it’s a serious issue when you use the headset for the first time each session.

This review is based on a first time short usage of an hour or so and I have not used any VR in the past to compare with. After you get it to work, 3D videos are absolutely rewarding, 2D videos are just a closeup immersion to some extent is what I am finding so far.

I am getting used to the device and how to operate, you have to consider limitations of technology, do not expect 100% perfection. Although the device has lot of plastic, I am afraid the strap holder may snap due to plastic, I have not figured out how to use the strap holder that goes over your head, I used the gear with out it.

I could not get it to work after spending a few hours, finally I got it to work, hopefully it will keep on working. Down load the manual from Samsung Gear VR web page, and go thru it, it seems overwhelming, but not so bad.

If you are using Note 9( or S9+ ?) you need a different device holder (see page 45 in the manual carefully), Samsung provides it in the box, or you have to call them to get it. I have Note 9, type C (not USB) device holder, and pay careful attention as to how to replace, and lock switch positioning, and position A or B for different sizes of phones.

After I put the phone in, it prompted for VR app download and installed Occulus, then I took the phone out and followed instructions (make sure you have sound on not on off or vibrate before you do anything) to install.

After installing and placing the phone back in, it did not launch Oculus VR app, no matter what I did, I even rebooted the phone. Next day, I went into settings I turned data on (settings, connections, data usage, turned on mobile data on, and data saver off.

Previously I had my setting to WIFI only), may be because of this reason, it worked, don’t know exactly why it worked this time. when you put your phone into device holder, make sure it goes all the way in, carefully push gently and give a little bit of time to launch the occulus.

You need head phones to listen to the sound that gets plugged into the phone. I removed the phone case, and left the screen protector on. I have also seen a few Youtube videos to see how to do initial setup, I wish someone did a comprehensive video.

For me, it is worth the money I spent as long as it continues to work, I like Note 9 and the VR Gear.

It won’t connect with the required software properly installed in my phone, which also makes my phone a a front for Facebook advertisersand ongoingalerts for commercial notifications. Samsung has also dropped supprort for this awful thing, which says a lot.

It’s interesting that the cheap remote that came free with the tripod I bought worked perfectly out of the box with no annoying waste of timee installing software that doesn’t wotk, or jumping through hoops trying to link this thing to my phone.

Considering how awful the sound quality is on our Samsung TV, I’ve placed Samsung at the top of my list of brands to avoid. The remote looks nice, but sadly is not strong enough to use as a hammer or garden spade.

I give this product 4 stars simply because I’ve seen better. I used to have a Samsung S6 but recently switched to an S7. I had bought a Gear VR for the S6, but that model of Gear VR would only work with the S6.

This Gear VR will (obviously) work with the S5, S6, S6 Edge, S7 and S7 Edge. On the surface that sounds nicer, but the compromises they made to accomplish this offset the gain in versatility in my opinion.

Compared to my S6 the field of view is not as impressive. I’m just guessing here but I suspect that this is because this device has to block out more areas to accommodate differences in seating position for the different phones it supports.

Regardless, the “giant screen” illusion of my previous device is not as immersive with this device as it was with the S6-specific product I was using before. The padding that touches your face when wearing the device is not as nice with this product as it was with the previous one.

This padding is replaceable, however, and it may be possible to get the better quality padding for this device, so this may be a push. The straps that come with this device are definitely not of the quality as the ones that came with my previous device.

The previous device’s straps included an injection-molded plastic crown for the top of your head to keep everything in place and provide a more stable feel when wearing the device. This one comes only with elastic strapping, which while it works and you can tighten it up enough to feel like the device is securely in place it means you have to wear it a bit tighter, which can be an annoyance if you’re trying to wear it to watch a 90 minute movie.

One possible improvement with this device is that the vent holes to prevent internal fogging seem to have gotten bigger, and I don’t think I have noticed fogging as often with this device as before. Overall I like this device and would probably have been ecstatic about it if I had never experienced its predecessor.

Great item. Online purchased and picked it up from the store. It was a bit tough to get into initially. Somewhere in the transit, it may have been bumped around so the box itself was a little off. Luckily, I was able to coax it back to alignment.

This safe is well built, for what it is. Smallest, lightest, least expensive safe I could find for full size pistol + magazine. This IS NOT a safe that you should use to secure unattended valuables for extended periods of time.

It is portable (although less so using the included cable) and could be taken easily. Any determined adult with 15 minutes and a screwdriver could pry this thing open. However, if you’re using it to secure a single pistol in a fairly secure location, it works great.

Fit a full size handgun and magazine without modification. 3 digit combination lock works as expected and has a plastic turn knob to open. Meets the requirements of a “locked case” in most states as far as I can tell.

My particular item arrived with a damaged inside rail. The product still closes (because the rail is bent in, not out) and works (closes, locks and opens). I am not sure if this damage is from manufacturer defect or from poor Walmart packing, but either way you get what you pay for.

The biggest issue I had with this item is the combination setup. I purchased it for my pistol. Set my combination and tested it a few times before I put my pistol in it. Well the mechanism to change the combination does not have a cover.

When I closed it with my pistol in it, the changing mechanism were moved by the pistol. Hence changing the combination. I was lucky that I remembered the numbers when I spun them to close it. I tried to open it as a test again and that is when I realized what happen.

They need to put a cover on the mechanism to assure this would not happen. I returned it because of this issue.

Mounting the base plate to my nightstand, and the vault to the plate took about 20 minutes (being careful, measuring and ensuring vertical plumb). Prior to installation I put in a 9volt lithium battery for the longest life.

The location and super tight fit of the battery holder would make it very hard to change the battery once the vault is mounted. The battery will have to be pried out. Plan on taking the vault off to change the battery, or do it while upside down.

Too fast, or not firm pressure will result in a failed attempt. However, while you can mute the beeps, you can do nothing about the horrendously loud double clunk sound of the lock releasing. If accessing your firearm quietly is your plan, it ain’t happening with this device.

It’s about as loud, but more hollow, as racking the slide and releasing it on a 1911. The bumper that cushions and slightly muffles the drop of the carriage is hard to install after the vault is mounted.

I had to come up with an alternate fastening solution. I bought this so I could keep my personal defense gun handy, but secure from my grandkids. The battery, bumper, and NOISE, kelps the rating no better than a three.

Having a motorized continuous flow allows you to produce a nice, even bead of material for long runs. No need to stop moving while you get another squeeze on a manual lever. For very visible jobs, like caulking bath and shower areas, sinks, etc, that smooth, even flow and the ability to slow the speed down for control does help make a much nicer finished job.

Know that with an M18 battery attached, this tool is fairly heavy, and if you are doing a large job, it can get tiring, especially if you need to hold it up high, but the larger batteries will keep it running all day.

The main problem with it is cleaning. It has deep gear teeth, spring loaded slides holding the tubes, some unnecessary small radius concave curves added to the back of the piston head, and a screw on connector attaching the tube holder to the gun with small crevices.

You will always have tubes that squeeze some material out the back of the tube, which oozes into the tool’s piston and gears, and into the crevices around the screw threads. On short jobs I’ve spent more time cleaning out the tool than I did dispensing material.

On very messy jobs like sealing rooftop flashing, I’ve sometimes bought cheaper guns to just throw them out rather than clean the asphalt tar out of the gun, and that’s very much the case with this Milwaukee caulk gun, so you still get a hand cramp from a manual dispenser for many jobs where you’ll leave this gun unused, which makes it less valuable than it could be.

I bought this because I suck at caulking and had some finesse work around windows on the exterior of my lakehouse. I tested with another job sealing an overlap on foundation dimpleboard. I went through 6 tubes of silicone caulking and NO SORE WRIST ! The gun’s ability to retract pressure when you release the trigger means no more drips like on a conventional manual caulking gun.

GREAT Tool ! Highly Recommended.

Getting old before you’re ready (if ever) sucks. This gun is wonderful. A little pricy, maybe a lot pricy, but working a manual caulking gun for any amount of time, is not an option. This tool is a real blessing.

Not sure I could have when younger with the manual one, but caulking literally all day is not a problem. Variable speed, smooth, and consistent. Also the best price of anywhere I found.

Loved it As a caveat, I’m sensitive to motion sickness so there definitely was a little of this to hurdle through. However, once that got settled, I really started to enjoy the device. I enjoyed the novelty of trying out different apps and games.

In particular, it was awesome to try out the 360-degree cameras to be inside the Egyptian tombs, or other travel destinations. I was in control of what to look at and it felt like you were right there which was absolutely amazing.

As a sports fan, I tried out the VR experience to watch an NBA game which was a cool experience. It feels as though you’re sitting right at courtside, and the ability to look left and right to focus on different things really adds to the virtual experience.

The views switch seamlessly from courtside to the camera mounted behind the backboard which gives you a view better than any seat you would pay for in real life! The hardware itself is comfortable. It fits well on my head, doesn’t feel front-heavy, and I didn’t have any trouble with sweating that I noticed from other comments.

Set-up was easy and the software easy to navigate. As it’s powered by Oculus, you do have to download the oculus app and every additional feature you want to explore does require separate downloads, but these were snappy and glitch-free.

I had a lot of fun with the device, and I was able to share this with my friends and spouse who all loved it as well. For the price, can’t beat this VR experience. As VR support and apps expand it’s only going to continue to get better!.

If you already have a Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, or Note 5, this is well worth the purchase. It is a great and easy way to be introduced to virtual reality. VR is making huge advances compared to what it used to be and as more applications come out it shows even more what it is capable of.

It is amazing how VR can suck you in create feelings that you would figure were impossible unless you were actually moving. However, there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed. First thing, as many others have stated, is the overheating.

There is nothing more fun spoiling than to be 10 minutes into a game to get the pop-up about it overheating. If you choose to continue and ignore it, the game becomes unplayable with 1-4 frames per second refresh.

I have purchased the gel packs that some have mentioned and it has helped in extending my gameplay, but it still gets too hot at times especially if the charger is plugged in. Visually the screen door effect is very obvious and makes the screen look blurry, no matter how much you try to focus.

However, once you get engrossed in a game or movie, the effect seems to fade away. This will surely get better as screens increase in their resolution and pixels per inch and you have to remember that you are looking at your phone really really close.

Game prices are rather steep compared to other phone related games. I understand that they are more involved that your typical phone based game. However, I hate to pay so much for an app only to find out that it is about 10 minutes worth of entertainment with no replay value.

I do like how some of them have gone “free” with in-game purchases to get the full version if you find it worthy. It is hard to enjoy VR with others. Using Chromecast to mirror the screen to a TV looked very promising, until I found out that it cast the sound to the TV and not the headphones.

Then, after about 5 seconds in the game, the video would freeze for external viewers but continue for the player. No matter the setting I tried, Chromecast would not work for me and my Note 5. I ended up purchasing MirrorOp, which is pricy app, but has made screen mirroring run really smooth, keep the sound in the headphones for the player, and really allowed the external viewers to enjoy the show and “mess” with the player.

Having a Bluetooth controller is only required for a few games. Most of them can be controlled with the side touchpad, which once you get used to how touchy it is, works well. However, keeping my arm bent beside my head gets tiring quickly.

If you already play controller based video games, having a Bluetooth controller is only natural. The button placement on most of them is very similar to what you would already be used to so they are familiar and easy to use.

Having a controller also unlocks some features in apps that you don’t “need” a controller for, such as moving seats in the theater. Sitting in a swivel chair is the easiest way to play. Standing is always an option, but ensure the environment is clear around you and you are able to control vertigo.

Some applications allow you to re-center the image, but most lock in the moment you activate the proximity sensor, which could happen from thumb placement or the head strap getting too close. Most of the time, taking it off and then putting it back on in the direction you want to face will re-center it as well.

I do wish that some applications would let you force the center so that you could sit back and relax while playing and not forced to sit upright the entire time. There is a fair amount of material out there under the Samsung/Gear VR store, however, Google Cardboard already has so much material available.

The Gear VR will not let you play that material by default, however, there is an app that can help with that as well. That app essentially helps unlock more potential for the device. Some of it does not play as smoothly as the material made to run with Oculus, but still gives more options.

Overall I feel it was well worth it. I have almost contemplated buying myself a new phone so that I could leave my Note 5 as a dedicated VR screen, but then I realize that I don’t use it that much, especially since the novelty of it has worn down a bit.

If only Samsung incorporated a cooling method for the phone I would have rated this higher.

I like the rapid opening with RFID tech, combined with the code pad entry and the barrel key. Three ways to lock/unlock the gun safe. I use mine with battery since I don’t have a nearby outlet to connect the AC adapter.

I would say only two drawbacks are: It opens with a loud mechanical clank as the 4 lock latches activate. And, for a two rifle safe, it is pretty cramped dimensions for two rifles. Also, would have been nice if Hornady provided the bolts to secure the safe to fixed surface, like handgun safe I have from different manufacturer.
