20 Best Wacky Worm Hook (2022 Updated)

I use these after I modify them by adding a grip pin for plastics (with epoxy). It works exactly for my needs on how I rig my baits. Love the strength and the Trokar sharpness. Can catch 30 bass no problem on one hook.

My hook up ratio went up big time with these hooks. They handle 30 – 40″ bass easily. I dropped one star because I have to modify them myself. update. this next season. I’m gonna try just using Trokar Heavy Flippin hooks, i’ll see if they hold up the same.

Firstly they hooked me, so any good fisherman seeing a product and like what they see, you mind says they have to be. Well I got to use them Friday and Saturday (11 & 12 June). With offset they seemed to hook majority through the side of the mouth which also made it very easy to remove the hook.

Also releasing a fish basically unharmed. In my opinion a very good hook and I gave them 5 stars.

This past spring I was getting my gear ready for the summer fishing season. I Have 6 grandchildren who all like to fish. I have a rigged out tri-toon boat that I take them out on. I was thinking about hook safety and fish release and thought about replacing the treble hooks on my in-line spinner baits with a split ring and a single hook.

The Trokar Wacky hook works great. Releasing the hooked fish is a snap now the trebles are gone. I’ve even ground down the barbs on several. Makes close quarters sand bass fishing a lot safer. I see no difference in our hook up ratio.

Oh yes, the lures don’t get tangled in the lure tackle boxs like they use to.

I fished south Florida for black bass for 3 months this past winter. This wacky weedless hook worked well for soft plastics and smaller swim baits with lighter weedy conditions. Also, to my pleasant surprise, my hookups were cleaner with minimal deep gut hookups.

The 2/0 size seemed to work well for all size plastic worms.

Very weedless when used with larger sized stick baits (Senkos). Comes through the grass in my local fishing hole quite well.

Strong, sharp hooks that you don’t have to worry about throwing into heavy cover. I’ve used them for several years when wacky worming a Senko for bass. They have hooked and held many good fish, including a 10.

7. As some others have said, the weedguard will turn occasionally. Not a problem, just check it before casting, and turn it back where it belongs. Cashy, but worth it if you fish where the big ‘uns are.

Very quick delivery service. I fish a lot over rocky ground and lose a lot of hard lures due to hooks. These wire guard, wacky weedless are just what I’ve been looking for. They can be obtained in 4/O to replace treble hooks and have a nice big eye that allows attachment to the lure.

He hook is nice and sharp. Due to lockdown I’ve not been able to use them but they are fitted and ready to go.

Very flimsy wire. Once you cut it off you have a decent hook. But I missed a lot of big bites on these hooks with the guard on, id say either use a wacky where it makes sense or don’t use it. Either way in heavy weeds its not a great choice.

I just throw a senko with a ewg hook weedless with a pegged tungsten. Or even weightless. Much better hook up ratio in the weeds.

Probably like other reviewers, I’ve been fishing regularly most of my life. I began fishing at 8 years of age and began using weightless plastics at 12 years of age (and I’m 49 now). I began using wacky rigs a few years ago.

I recently purchased these hooks and I’ll readily admit I’ve caught a ‘few’ fish but have lost at least 6-7 for every fish I’ve caught. I use a 7’3″ MH Cashion worming’ rod with fast action and rest assured, I’m quite experienced in both rigging and hook set.

I’m not sure if this is a common problem with most weedless wacky rigs or if it’s VMC who just got it wrong. Their Tokyo rigs are effective. Not sure what happened here, but whatever it was, save your money.

I have used these for years to replace the trebles on my trout spinners, spoons and plugs because I release most of those I catch. These are very sharp and durable. Although I have had a couple corrode some, overall they seem to be of excellent quality and I really like the smaller barb on these compared to other manufacturer’s hooks of the same type.

I bought this hook in the size #4. When I got them I couldn’t beleave how small they were. Not just the over all size. I’m talking about the thickness of the wire too. I knew right away before opening them that they were going to bend out.

So I tied one to some 17lbs test line to put it on the scale test to see at what point it would bend out. When I put my puller tool on the hook to tighten down the knot the hook started to bend. I only could of put a pound or two on it while tighting the knot down.

After that I put it on the scales and at 3-5 pounds it was bad looking and could of lost a fish at this point. At this point I wanted to see when the hook would fail. At 10 it failed and slip off the scale.

So on the other hand I really do like the shape of the hook and I really like the camo green color. It’s a nice weedy green color. I’ve read a couple of reviews and everyone liked them it’s just that most people seemed to use the bigger sizes.

I would like to test how strong the bigger hook are but don’t want to buy hooks that are going to fail on me when I have a fish on.

Been using these for about a year now, truly best wacky hooks I’ve tried. Super sharp and set very nicely.

Without question this is the best hook if you throw your soft plastic stick baits wacky style. I use the BPS O-Rings and just put the hook through the ring, it never goes in the bait. I have never lost a fish on this rig and the bait doesn’t get torn up as fast.

I also use the cap from a old sharpie marker to help slide the O-Ring on the bait. Just cut the clip off the cap so the ring slides down it easy, put the bait in the cap and roll the ring on. Put the hook through the ring and catch fish.

The hook “sets” itself, all you have to do it apply pressure, don’t give it the hard hookset you would with a texas rig. You will love this hook!.

After reviewing several models with capability of mounting a reflex sight, I chose this model. That decision was not taken lightly and to say that I am pleased would be an understatement. The Sig P320 RXP XFull – Size offers everything that I wanted.

The frame and grip are extremely comfortable. Recoil is negligible for this 9mm and accuracy, with the Romeo optic is much better that I had expected. The tigger pull is more than acceptable but, I will have to get used to the reset for follow up shots.

144 flawless rounds were put through this pistol this afternoon. My experience is that this pistol prefers heavier bullets. I fired several 115 gr. and 147 gr. FMJ bullets with the 147 gr. providing the best accuracy at 7, 10 and 15 yards.

I will have to practice more with my hold, grip, stance and sight acquisition to master this very accurate pistol in order to maximize the performance. My rating for this pistol is the highest that I could give it after todays performance.

Guns. com, with its network of dealers, was able to provide this fine fireman at a competitive price. Give today’s “normal” selection at local guns stores, this specific model was simply not available.

If this had some kind of universal optic mounting solution instead of strictly DPP footprint, I’d give it 5 stars. DPP is too tall to cowitnesses with irons, sig optics are alright, but not the most durable.

Broke it in with 800 rounds of range ammo, couple mags gold dot 124 +p. Shot great, no malfunctions, locked back every time and slaving the dot on the irons was spot on. I wouldn’t say it’s any more or less accurate then other platforms, as most are more accurate then we can shoot.

I would say it was very easy to shoot accurately though.

Title sums it up really. They’re great super sharp hooks, but they are NOT 100% closed. My 5lb PowerPro braid line tied with a uni knot slips through occasionally, which is pretty annoying. I use pliers to cinch the eye a bit to help close it.

This is probably the best wacky rig hook on the market, until you catch your first fish. After catching the first fish the weed guard gets destroyed and if you’re able to reshape it to its original position, it has zero strength or integrity.

These hooks are nearly perfect – they do an excellent job coming through weeds and avoiding hangups when fishing around/under docks. Have had excellent results with hook sets too. The only complaint I have is that when fishing a wacky rig using an O-ring on the worm, if the worm slides up the line you have to thread the hook back under the o-ring and pull it completely out in order to get reset the weed guard.

A bit of a pain, but worth it overall.

Excellent doogin! Neko / Wacky Rigging hook. Very weedless. Gamakatsu is the hook I use 50% of the time and Owner Hooks for 45%. The rest is spread out between several other companies.

Great product! I am able to use them rigged “wacky wormed” all day. Very good around weed lines, rock, and brushy cover. Great hook set-up ratio!

This is my go-to hook for Neko rigging and Wacky rigging. The Flourocarbon weed guards allows me to throw this bait pretty much anywhere without getting hung up. The hook point is super sharp and because of the design of the hook, my hook up percentage is incredible.

For ultra-lite and light line panfish, perch, and walleye fishermen; this works well when tipped when tipping with smaller plastics and live baits. The weed guard assists when fishing in weed beds. The Gamakatsu hook is unquestionably terrific!.

this is a fun and easy way to fish, Gamakatsu jigs are the best, sharp, balanced and strong. Fish with a slow jigging motion. let bait rest on bottom initially and on stops on way in. hits are easy to feel and hooks are sharp.

Great on small and largemouth bass. I have even caught red ear sun fish on them. My favorite color is plum, motor oil, and pumpkin red flake.

Been using these same hooks with live shrimps for the past 30 years. I use this style Mustad hook to tie a certain grass carp fly. The offset hook helps in the hookset. As for strength, I’ve only had 1 22lb grass carp bend the hook point a little. With the material tied on, the hook has a very slow sink rate that doesn’t spook the fish.

Hopefully the hook doesn’t get discontinued.

The Gamagatshu wicked wacky is the best wacky hook on the market. The partial circle hook design hooks easily and once hooked is difficult for bass to dislodge. Weedless design helps in grassy mossy conditions.

Hard to find in stores.

Since I learned to wacky rig, I have experimented with many different hooks. This hook never bends and holds them until I take my catch off. Great product.

I find the Eagle Claw Lazer hooks have a slightly larger barb than others, and I lose fewer bass with them. They are very sharp and hold up well.

These are great hooks for wacky rigging. I use 1/0 for the smaller worms that I target smallmouth bass with.

Really disappointed with these hooks. They are not very sharp at all and fish throw them easily. Would never use this product in a tournament situation. Design is good however, but design alone does not push fish in the weigh in bag.

The weed guard works wonderful in the heavy undergrowth I fish. However, the first large mouth bass I caught (1 1/4 lbs) completely mangled the weed guard. I was able to bend it sufficiently to use. Maybe this is normal for a weed guard but I have not had this problem before.

Great for those weedy and snaggy areas. Wish I had these when I was up in Canada as most of the lakes we fished were very weedy. Going to try them with live bait too, should work well with shiners, we will see.

So happy to finally find a weedless wacky hook that doesn’t have the metal guards. These fiber ones are so much better! Nice and sharp with plenty of space for a variety of knots. A great addition to the tackle box.

These hooks worked very well for me. Like so much I ordered another pack and pack of 3/0s. The wire is not to stiff is what I like the most. And use it with 5 inch lunker log is my ticket for success!

weedless wires seem to bend pretty easy and don’t always keep it weedless. Other than that they seem to be pretty good hooks

Hooks extremely sharp & the stickiest I’ve ever seen. Just looking at it will get it stuck in your skin. Has like a slikset type feel, easy to rig in the kraw but have used on several other applications bc of the easy TDC hookups line tie holds kraw in position better than some flipping hooks I’ve used so don’t go through 3 packs a day.

Have some of the other hooks as well waiting to try with frog but have to assume they’ll peg them just the same. Great quality great price point great durability has held point longer than owner, & mustad both of which I’ve been signed with.

I am giving this a 5 star but I would give it a one star except for the fact I love Googan and what they are doing is amazing for the people! I bought a pack of the bandito flipping hook at Dicks and I have matched the hooks I bought to these hooks and it turns out these are also the Bandito Flipping Hooks which is very confusing and the ” Bandito Flipping Hooks” don’t hold on the Bandito Bug at all! I love all your products and everything! Could have been a fluke by Dicks or the packaging and labeling team.

Just pay close attention and fix your stuff next time!.

Really like these hooks! I have been buying a lot of them it’s a many flipping hook pretty much! I will use it for lot of different finesse situations. Great shape and comes in a good package. They payed good attention to these hooks!.
