20 Best Waffle Mix Brand (2022 Updated)

I’ve been using Stonewall Kitchen products to make Christmas basket gifts for years. Their name is synonymous with quality. This year I am putting together soup baskets. I did one last year and it got rave reviews.

I’ve included their Chili starters and Clam Chowder, as well as NE Chicken Stew, Corn Chowder and Vegetable Soup Mixes. Added some Corn bread and Rosemary bread mixes as well as some crackers and you have a gift that is sure to impress and please.

Not being able to get all our families together over the holidays the last couple of years, I have still been able to help make them special by including delicious gifts from Stonewall Kitchen! This year they’ll be having Blueberry Pancake and Waffle Mix, covered in Mane Maple Syrup! And I even got a treat for us, too: we’ll be enjoying Orange Cranberry Scones! So thank you Stonewall Kitchen for making holiday meals both easy to prepare and yummy to eat!.

I purchased all three of these mixes. I’m a big Stonewall Kitchen fan and buy their products frequently. First time ever I’ve been disappointed and it is with the coconut mix. Made waffles and can taste no coconut at all.

That is the only reason I didn’t give this purchase 5 stars.

Really enjoyed this pancake mix. I bought some King Arthur pancake mix and it doesn’t taste as good as this pancake mix. I just wish they didn’t cancel my second order of it when it was on sale. I didn’t know they canceled it for awhile I just thought it was taking longer because of covid and the sale they had probably had an increase in orders.

I’ll keep an eye out for it at the store or check back on this website for a sale.

I bought this for my hubby. This is his favorite breakfast to go, if he wants healthier pancakes in a busy morning. Hubby really enjoyed this formula and love these were easy and quick enough to make, just add water, egg and oil.

And they taste delicious! Top up with some fruits and pure maple syrup or honey. This is a new staple in our house. Ingredients Organic whole wheat flour, buttermilk powder (milk), vital wheat gluten, cane sugar, baking powder (monocalcium phosphate, cornstarch, sodium bicarbonate), salt.

I am pleased to find this from a Walmart vendor. The price with free shipping is a fair price. I mix this with regular pancake mix to make this stuff last longer. Reminds me of my childhood when we could buy Aunt Jemima Buckwheat Pancake Mix at the grocery store.

I bought this a gift to go with a waffle iron I also purchased but it was sent in an envelope and was crushed so badly I could not give it as a gift. Will never do that again. What horrible care!!!!

Absolutely homemade tasting and delicious!!! Highly recommend!! It made the perfect pairing with the chicken and pecans, as well as the maple syrup complemented it and brought it all together!!

It is a good basic waffle mix although I was a little disappointed. We had malted waffles awhile back and hoped this mix would taste similar since it has malt in it but it did not. Still a good mix just not what we were looking for.

I looove this mix! The texture and flavor are wonderful, and I’ve tried most low carb baking and pancake mixes. The price seemed high at first glance, but it’s actually a great value at around $1. 35 per serving.

I love to make waffles in my mini dash, and the package instructions for waffles make 6 mini waffles, which actually comes to less than 90 cents for two waffles. I use almond milk instead of water and add vanilla and cinnamon to my mix.

I let the batter sit for a while before cooking and toast up leftovers for meal prep during the week. I’ve made blueberry waffles, lemon poppyseed, and sugar free chocolate chip with this mix. It’s an excellent product, and I can’t wait to try making muffins with it! Please always keep making it! :).

Like a previous reviewer, I hate the original flavor. I had tried it several times and they always tasted gross and the texture was always gummy. Not sure how these are so different, but they are. I will caveat my review to say that I only eat these with peanut butter spread on them.

My 5 year old son though, he eats these plain. Doesn’t even ask for syrup! But yeah, these peanut butter sliced banana = heaven. Pro-tip: Make them the way the recipe calls for. The batter looks very thick and you will want to add more water, but they taste better thick.

The provided recipe gives them a fluffier cake-like consistency. They freeze well too.

Let them eat cake… for breakfast! These are so doggone good, we didn’t even need syrup and butter. All you need is your mouth and a glass of milk. Birthday cake flavor is spot on without an artificial taste.

If you add all the suggested protein mix-ins & a little baking powder, you’ll basically have fluffy whole grain birthday cake for breakfast. If you’re wondering, “Are these reviews for real? It’s just pancakes.

Surely, they can’t be all that?” O ye with little faith, yes, they are all that. And them some. Total pancake perfection. The whole family is obsessed. Get the dang pancakes. Thank me later.

I adored the old packaging and am saddened that what I grew up with being called Aunt Jemima, has now been transformed to “The Milling Company”? Why? Aunt Jemima was and always has been what everyone grabs in the morning to make quick pancakes or waffles, and though her family had no compensation from using her name ( not likeness that was recreated over years), it’s familiar and makes people happy.

No one thinks of race when using it it just brings nostalgia and comfort to people who use it. I saved my old boxes. The new boxes are ugly, and I switched to another brand just for this now. They should have kept original artwork.

As for the mix, it’s been a staple rich or poor in my home since childhood. Before cereal boxes, this is what I recall on my counter that I stared at. I find vintage packaging charming and beautiful.

The pancakes are fluffy every time. I love that you don’t need eggs. To cut back sodium I have to mix regular flour and Magic baking powder to it. They need to cut sodium back and it would be perfect.

But unless they bring back the old packaging, I will no longer buy this. Hence the 3 stars.

Grew up in a Bisquick home, I challenged the woman who raised me when I brought this box into our house. She shook her head at me, though I was determined to prove her “mom this isn’t just a Bisquick world, I want more.

” After a few minutes of easy preparation, letting the batter sit like the directions mentioned. I made some DELECTABLE blueberry pancakes (though not the most aesthetically pleasing). As a peace offering to the lady of the house, I served one for her upon her beautiful floral plates.

A drizzle of maple syrup and her fork cutting into the fluff of the berried bread disc. I awaited her response. Her face, indifferent. Another bite, I ask desperately, “what do you think??” She looked up from her plate, she said “it’s good.

” With that ladies, gays and theys, history was made. Can’t wait to use this mix again, it’s honestly great. 10/10. Fluffy, great taste, dare I say, better than Bisquick?.

I’ve been feeling a lot confident in cooking recently. Usually when I mess up once, I never attempt it again, however this was my second attempt at Korean Corn-dogs. I found this interesting recipe that used ready made pancake mix as the batter and honestly it was easier.

Hassle free. Yes, Yes, you probably all knew that hack, alas my common sense sometimes escapes me. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any panko or even plain bread, sooooo I used the seeded bread, blitzed it and used that to help make the corn-dogs extra crispy.

Same great taste; different name! If you’re new to this pancake mix altogether, you’ll love it as well! It’s so easy to make and tastes great. All you need is a mixing bowl, some water, the mix, and a hot pan.

You’ll have light and fluffy, delicious pancakes in no time! They are even better when paired with walnuts, the Pearl Milling Company Buttermilk Syrup, and real butter melted on top. I’ve tried other ‘just add water’ mixes that yielded dry, chalky tasting pancakes.

That’s definitely not the case with these! They are better than Bisquick if you need a comparison. Not only am I impressed with this buttermilk pancake mix, but the company as a whole is striving for Prosperity, Empowerment, Access, Representation and Leadership (Hence the name, PEARL).

This Product has ALWAYS been and ALWAYS will be my Ultimate favorite brand for pancakes. The logo and Name has changed but the product in my opinion got better. I think it is light weight and fluffier pancakes.

The taste seems better as light weight and airy. I don’t fell too heavy after eating them. I always ADD VANILLA to inhance the flavor of butter with vanilla. Follow the directions ON THE BACK OF THE BOX to make your fluffy pancakes.

Use your best judgment if you want to add more water to less thickness of pancakes. I always use warm water, NOT HOT just to activate my batter. I beat it very Well with my hand beater until I SEE small AIR bubbles.

My skillet is on Medium Heat and I always use the spray butter for a non stick on my skillet for ever pancake I make. As I serve the pancakes, I use the spray butter for every layer and for the finally I use the syrup.

In my opinion it better for me and I will continue to suggest to family and friends and it will always part of MY Kitchen MY Pantry for family and friends.

Thank you Influenster and Pearl Milling Company for giving us the chance to try out or re-try some of these items. We have a tendency to either make out pancake mix from scratch or from a non-complete mix, so when we do use a complete mix it automatically is going to taste a little off to us.

The batter consistency fluffed up during the short rest period we give our mixes after everything has been mixed together, so it definitely preformed above expectations in that regard. The pancakes cooked up nicely and kept a lot of their fluffiness during the cook however, almost immediately after removing them from the heat you could literally see them deflate.

Obviously, the deflation causes them to taste unnecessarily dense then. It is a common problem with all complete pancake mixes. In general, the flavor was pretty good and with some doctoring up in the future, may even prove to exceed expectations.

I could see us using this complete mix when we go camping ☺❤.

My husband found this for me when he was traveling around through Tennessee. He’d gone to visit some retired friends who are not in such good health. One of the ladies said she had bought this and loved it.

I was still eating gluten-free (for 8 months) until an actual biopsy came back negative. Yes, I switched docs!!! This is a real good substitute for the pancake mix people are used too. Its a little different and you will find the consistency will not be as light or fluffy but it mixes well.

The actual pancake reminded me of the ‘lumberjack’ pancakes churches used to make for pancake breakfast. The lumberjack pancake was created to keep men (and ladies!) tummies full while they did very hard work in cold weather.

Follow all instructions but you may use fresh fruit as a garnish. I added thawed blueberries and it just didn’t work they sort of ‘stuck’ on the top. I’m not real creative (when it comes to cooking and gluten free can be a challenge of sorts) It costs more than commercial brands but it doesnt skimp on quality or taste.

Delicious alternate to traditional batter. Simply cannot tell there is no gluten. Fabulous. Add some blueberries for a treat!

I love maple grove honey buckwheat pancake mix! I do not like to eat refined sugar, so this honey sweetened mix is just great! Tastes great without the refined sugar.

Something people don’t understand. Waffles are NOT pancakes but with hills and valleys in them; far from it. Lots of companies sell pancake mix and call it Pancake/waffle mix. FAIL! Waffles need a different recipe because the end result is different.

Pancakes are supposed to be soft and fluffy through and through, inside and out and they are suppose to be soft to the touch. A GOOD waffle on the other hand, is supposed to be soft and fluffy on the INSIDE, but crispy and crunchy on the outside.

These are two different animals and they require two different recipes. They are NOT interchangeable as most companies who make pancake mix seem to imply. Mix is as the name says, a WAFFLE mix, not a pancake mix.

And as a waffle mix, it is terrific! It renders waffles that are delicate inside but have a nice crust on the outside, a perfect combination. The ONE, caveat, and it is a VERY small one, the box gives measurements for patches much larger than a single person would every make.

It sure would be nice if they broke it down a little more to give measurements for say just two waffles, so us singles don’t have to take out the calculator to figure out the smaller measurements. No matter, it still gets 5 stars for the great taste and perfect symmetry between fluffy and crunchy.

I recently bought myself a waffle iron after a stay at a hotel where I made my own fresh waffles for breakfast, and got hooked. I’m all about making things from scratch, and I’m an excellent cook and baker, but when you find something even better, you use it.

This boxed mix is that thing. I keep at least 2 – 3 boxes of this on hand at all times, because with real maple syrup and butter melted on these waffles hot (after I’ve added some cinnamon and real vanilla extract (I prefer my Dominican extract over Madagascar)), there’s just nothing that beats these.

Easy, light, fluffy, delicious waffles come from this box. For the low, low price that you get this mix for, you really just can’t beat the taste of the waffles that this mix makes.

I love this Belgian waffle mix. We got a waffle maker around Christmas time and thought we should try it out. During my lifetime the only occasions that I had waffles was either in a toaster or a restaurant.

This is really a treat for me. They come out thick and fluffy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I’m kind of a health nut and I’m sure these aren’t super healthy. However I do top them with strawberries and a little whipped cream 😋.

This can be found at most grocery stores and I believe the box was around $3. I would recommend!.

Great product. Recommend using the waffle receipt on the box for pancakes. Add just a little more water than recommended for thinner pancakes. My kids love them and we could not find this product any longer in the store but found a great price on eBay.

This is the best pancake mix I’ve ever had. It’s easy to mix and every pancake you make is most sweet. I definitely recommend this product to everyone.

This makes the biggest, fluffiest sweet tasting pancakes ever! Some would say you do not even need syrup!

I love the mix, but the package could use some improvement. The one I was using before ordering another had developed a leak at the bottom of the package. When my new order arrived I noticed a bit of white flour like substance next to the box that was sitting on my sidewalk that contained the ordered product.

Sure enough when I opened the box and checked the package of mix, it was indeed leaking. Not a huge problem, a little tape did the trick. But Arrowhead if you are listening, improve the package.

My two year son loves pancakes. After trying so many other’s pancake i found this one and loved this one. I simply mashed 1/3 of banana and add 3 tbsp of water and 3 tbsp of water and mix it and add some butter in pan and add the batter and its ready in few minutes.

I like how soft and fluffy this pancake is. My son have this pancake 2-3 times a week and he really loves it.

Basic Mix, Need To Add Sone Vanilla Extra And Other Flavors Or Else This Will Taste Bland. They Are Fluffyand Taste Fresh, But They Have No Flavor. Also Add More Liquid If You Dont Want Extra Thick And Dry Pancakes.

They Arent Bad But I Wouldn’t Buy Them Again. Expensive For Just Basic Ingredients That You Still Have To Improve.

I bought these for my kiddos to be able to make their own pancakes or waffles. We all loved the waffles we made with this mix. One of my kids thought it was my homemade recipe. It’s no wonder with clean simple ingredients.

I thought these were going to taste more like protein powder than pancakes. I imagined that the marketing team took a picture of ‘regular pancakes’ then slapped it on the box to manipulate us all into buying yet another DF GF disaster.

You can tell I’ve been hurt in the past, huh? Living with someone with very high sensitivities, I’ve had to become hyper vigilant about what’s in everything. And I can truly say we really enjoyed the pancakes! They are tasty.

Full disclosure- I doctor everything up I make and can’t help it but I subbed some of the water for a DF milk and gave it a splash of vanilla extract and some all spice. These pancakes with your favorite butter and some pure maple syrup, really good! And filling- and not the that gross overstuffed feeling.

The downside- having to order an everyday product that you can’t just go to the store for is difficult for me; call me ‘old school’ but I like convenience too. But the price is fair for this product.

I wish the instructions were a little more clear like other pancake boxes. I felt like Dr. Strange trying to figure out some algorithm- you should have saw me. Bending time and having out of body experiences trying to understand how much mix to use to make 1 serving vs making the whole box.

I see why Thanos wanted all them stones now, he was JUST searching for a little understanding (or trying to make these pancakes) 😂 All I wanted to know was how many “whatever inch” pancakes were a “serving” and what’s the recipe ratio for making the “whole box”.

I was trying to reverse engineer the not-100%-clear-instructions and had to rely on my own cooking abilities (which I’m confident in) and they were really good. I’m definitely buying again. I just wish I wrote the ratios out to make it easier on myself but hey.

I only added this to get free shipping but thought if it taste as good as the Protein Powders than it was worth it. Turns out, I should of just paid shipping. The package is 55% Mix, 45% Air. way too expensive for what you get.

Worse, the VEGAN pancake recipe on the back calls for an Egg. WTH. Being Vegan, I decided to make a Flax Egg that works very well in my other batter recipes. Either the Vegan Egg didn’t take well or the mix was the issue, because none of the pancake formed well.

They wouldn’t flip clean and the batter on the inside was still super wet after cooking for a long time. I tried a second batch, slightly varying the Flax Egg and it came out worse. The small parts that I could eat actually tasted good but were grainy.

I threw the pancake mess and the rest of the dried mix in the trash. How about lowering the cost of this Mix AND listing an actual Vegan version of the recipe on the box since it’s labeled “Vegan” and “Plant-based”??.

I love any healthier pancake alternative and I’m a diehard Orgain lover, so I’m satisfied enough with this pancake mix, but it’s honestly not my favorite. I wish there was a bit more of a vanilla flavor, as the egg flavor tends to overpower.

Maybe I’m not cooking them right, but the texture is a little bit gummy (instead of fluffy and airy). But pancakes are hard to perfect, and I still enjoy these!.

These pancakes make eating healthy super easy. I used to take forever making pancakes from scratch. Truth is, I make EVERYTHING from scratch, but there comes a point where you’re spending your life in the kitchen.

These pancakes have not only simplified my life, but are much better for us. I mix in almond milk, a little vanilla and cinnamon (sometimes mini chocolate chips☺️) to our batch. We top it with strawberries, cool whip and maple syrup.

Also tastes delicious topped with cooked apples. Really simple and really yummy!.

Great buy! Don’t get it in the regular grocery store or you will pay too much. I make the muffin recipe a lot for my family. I like how it’s nutritious and my family likes the taste and texture. I add pumpkin and chocolate chips and they make a hearty snack.

I’ve also added chopped up raw apples & walnuts & cinnamon, frozen berries, bananas & chocolate chips, & puréed butternut squash with pumpkin pie seasoning, lastly zucchini with clove & chocolate chips.

I’ve enjoyed this baking mix for several years. Arrowhead Mills makes excellent products. Besides the easy, fluffy yummy pancakes, I’ve lately made pancake bread with this mix. I add the usual ingredients of the pkg recipe, then add rolled oats, extra honey, some pecan or walnut pieces or blueberries.

I add more milk (or dry mix) as needed for a quick bread consistency. Scoop the mixture into a buttered baking dish (or several smaller buttered baking dishes) and bake at 350 until center is baked (cover as needed to avoid overcooking the edges).

Then I scoop out or slice my pancake servings. This way I can make a batch to last several days without having to start from scratch each time with individual cakes. Serve this warm in a bowl with butter & maple syrup (and extra blueberries or other fruit) as a dessert.

Buckwheat has low gluten, so no need to worry about overmixing. Texture of baked product remains light and somewhat crumbly compared to wheat products. Delicious flavor, especially with added butter & maple syrup on top.

If you use sugar, brown sugar compliments well, use in the mix or on top instead of syrup. Use crumbled brown sugar as a topping before baking, for the pancake bread idea too. The recipe on the bag shows a small amount of honey.

This mellows the slight bitter taste of buckwheat. Delicious!.

Arrowhead Mills makes the best Buckwheat Pancake mix. Easy to you with the recipes I have. I make them every week and they always come out the same way, nice and fluffy. Sometimes I’ll add crushed almonds or walnuts.

Also add blueberries and strawberries. It a great meal that I look forward to.

This has great taste & texture. I make a vegan version & substitute egg replacer for the eggs, applesauce for the oil & soy milk for the milk. It turns out great every time. I also bake them & that turns out great.

Adding blueberries has worked well also. Arrowhead Mills has great products and is a company I trust.

First of all, this waffle mix tastes excellent. My wife and I are waffle fanatics. We really like pancakes but we LOVE waffles. We also love Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup above all others. So when I saw the reviews for this mix, ordering was a no-brainer.

I finally busted it out yesterday and made up a batch to try them out. As mentioned, they tasted great. but there were a couple of things I thought were worth mentioning. First of all, this is a “complete” mix so if you are making pancakes, you just need the mix and water.

If you are (like us) making waffles, you will need a tablespoon of cooking oil. No biggie. Also, the back of the package says this will make 6-7 waffles, but it only made 2 belgian waffles. Also not a biggie.

The bigger issue for me is that this mix uses soy flour along with the wheat flour. My body doesn’t tolerate soy products very well and later in the evening my stomach started rumbling. I couldn’t figure out what would have caused it but the waffles were the only big change to the normal daily routine/diet, so I checked out the ingredients and saw the soy flour.

Bingo. Now this isn’t a huge deal and I will still use the rest of the mix, but I will check ingredients more carefully next time. I also wanted to give anyone else who has this same sensitivity a heads up about the soy flour in this mix.

If that doesn’t bother you, then again. this mix tastes wonderful. In our belgian waffle maker, they come out very soft and fluffy, even on the highest setting. But the taste is excellent.

This is my go to pancake mix. A little bit definitely goes a long way. Plus it is super cheap but is also very tasty! It is very easy to make and doesn’t clump up really bad like some other pancakes mixes do.

I am overall very satisfied with this pancake Mix.

I love this pancake mix! I have tried multiple but always go back to this one! The price point is perfect and the amount of product you get! It taste absolutely amazing the pancakes just melt in my mouth!! Yum! Now I need to go make some haha! Are they healthy? Well for me yes I am trying to gain weight.

Without syrup I believe they are pretty healthy to have in a regular diet just not constantly. However, these pancakes with syrup, bacon, eggs, and sausage YUM! Breakfast for champions!! Or dinner for breakfast either way they are delicious! I would definitely recommend this brand!!.
