20 Best Wagon For Sand (2022 Updated)

I was initially hesitant about this cart because of some of the reviews. As much as I love surf fishing, it was worth the gamble. The cart arrived and noticed the instructions are I’m big red letters on the side of the box.

Missing them would be kinda difficult. The cart had excellent welds and the typical edges you’d expect from a custom build. I guess if you work in an office and moan when you touch a shovel handle, it would be a little rough.

ultimately it was exceptional quality craftsmanship. I didn’t have to look at the instructions because a blind monkey could figure it out. The build took maybe an hour. Although, I did look at the instructions afterwards to get the cool stickers.

This wagon is a piece of art, definitely what I was needing for heavy loads. All materials were accounted for and packaged with care. Factory Pure’s great customer service was on top of keeping me informed of transit.

This is a must have for any real surf fisherman. H huge thank you to them guys….

After viewing the pictures of this wagon I was shocked to find that it does not carry the weight that it says. The tires will drag on the underside if you put a cooler and 3 chairs …. a bag with 3 towels, nothing really heavy.

The cart needs to be elevated up from the tires so as to not damage the tires. (I will have it modified) we also bought the chair holders…. The wagon can’t handle what is pictured in the picture. Unless the cooler is empty.

Purchased this wagon with 350 lb capacity as a gift. The cart is beautifully made and the recipients were so excited untilthey put 3 kids (each under 50 lbs) in the cart for a stroll on the beach. Do not buy this cart – the wheels have no bearings causing you to drag sand instead of flow smoothly over it.

I will be purchasing Wheeleez for $137. 00 a piece and having the cart modified so that the 700. 00 cart will be used. (now over $1100. 00 cart).

I just purchased this wagon specifically for the beach and so far I am very pleased with it. I was able to put in 3 beach chairs, bag of beach toys, bag of towels etc. , a light weight beach tent (5lb) and a small cooler for drinks and snacks.

It moved a lot better than I imagined it would on the soft sand! I’m very impressed by this so far although there is one thing I noticed that I hope will not be an issue later on which would be that the adjustable handle will move a little if the cart is too heavy; I found that out by testing it with my child in it by removing the chairs of course.

Other than that it packs up easy and it’s not too heavy! I would definitely recommend purchasing!.

Wagon is great. I coach my daughters softball team and pile it 3-4 days a week with buckeets, catchers gear bag, etc. It rolls so much easier with the big hard plastic wheels than a lot of the other coaches wagons I’ve seen/borrowed, helped tow, etc.

Folds and unfolds like a breeze. Zero tipping problems at all. I’m sure some folks who made those reviews are just being a bit unrealistic in how they pile their cart and towing it in a super uneven fashion.

Only improvements would be locking wheels as it sometimes rolls away when I don’t want it to and have to find a different “stopping” place for it. As well as when it’s folded up, makes it harder to store since the wheels don’t lock and therefore can’t stand it up.

And the other improvement would be having the handle lock into place better than the easy pop-out. It comes unpopped all of the time in the back of my truck when it’s folded up and therefore I have to drag it out carefully to not break/bend the handle.

Again, super solid though as it’s much better than any others I’ve seen out there!.

The wagon is not balanced. 2 of the wheels are spread out and the other two wheels are together which causes it to tilt when going over uneven ground. My son also flipped the whole wagon backwards and hit his head on the ground while I was pulling him from the other end.

So if only one child is in the wagon, have he or she sit towards the end where the lever is to pull to prevent from tipping the wagon over but then be cautious because that’s also the end whereas the wheels are NOT spread out.

So its easy to tilt over. I really wish I coykd just return it.

I normally dont do reviews but I have to for this item. The front wheels are to close in which makes your load unbalanced eve if you properly load everything evenly. Our wagon fell over numerous times at the beach.

Also if you turn about 15 degrees with your wagon loaded it will turn over as well. We have another wagon that has small wheels so we decided to buy this one because the wheels are wider so it could move easier on the sand.

It did move better but was unstable. I wish I would have just brought my smaller wheel wagon. At least everything wouldve stayed in the wagon. I would definitely not recommend this wagon to take to the beach.

I may be good for hiking on a hard surface but you still have to watch how you load it. I hope this helps your decision.

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet. (Purchased for the Fall Birding season to haul around tripods & spotting scopes, and photography equipment, and a folding camouflage chair, etc. ) I plan on spray painting the metalwork of the wagon in earth tone camouflage colors.

Possibly even spray painting the nylon sides in earth tone camouflage colors with over lays of leaf patterns, and reeds? To help make it; and me a little less visible when on the open marsh trails, and refuge wildlife drive roads, when setting up next to them.

) So far; the overall quality of this folding wagon looks pretty good. Only time, and repeated use will tell of its’s durability? Reasonably priced when on Sale.

Our nearly one acre garden next to the Brooklyn Bridge is set on terraces and has serveral sections. We buy over a hundred new plants each year and this fantastic carrier saves me so much time. I can fill it with several plants, fertilizer and all the tools needed without returning over and over for a few plants next to my shed.

Love this wagon. I’m 69 years old living in a condo community and I wanted away to transport gardening tools, seeds, plants, thugs, etc down to my plot in our vegetable community garden. This wagon folds up easily and you can do it one handed, a real must when your storage space is limited.

It has places to hold your water, seed packs, tools. The all terrain wheels make it really easy to pull the wagon down the bumpy path to the garden site. It’s light weight and comes with a cover when it’s time to store it away.

Couldn’t be happier. I bought red just for fun and easy to spot.

• Never, ever even consider placing a child in this wagon. • The attachment of the handle to the front wheel axle instead of the wagon frame causes the wagon to have a front lift when the handle is grasped at waist height.

This tilt causes the wagon to topple backwards and/or collapse (foldup) at the point of any modest elevation or uneven surface. • With a 3-point wheel configuration, the slightest turn of the centered front wheel assembly causes the wagon to topple sideways.

It cannot “be pulled across multiple surfaces. ” It is totally unstable on beach sand and even on flat road surfaces. If the slightest turn is made the wagon topples over sideways. • There is no traction on sand surfaces provided by the smooth broad wheels.

• On any encounter with a rise of elevation, even a slight ramp from ground to a 2×6 walking deck, the wagon topples backward and/or sideways, emptying its contents. • During one incident when the wagon toppled backward while I was holding the handle, the handle bent significantly.

This bent handle now prevents the handle from recessing and the wagon cannot fold flat or fit in the cover. • Standard beach chairs (folded) are typically 36” x 24”, but this wagon has an interior box length of only 33” and the side walls are only 10 ½”.

Easy to fold & unfold – >CONS – 1. Its heavier than I expected, but not too heavy for a smaller person to handle – I don’t think a lighter weight frame would hold up – 2. it folds to a size bigger than I expected, mainly because of the large wheels.

But the wheels are a plus for beach use which is why I wanted it. So it’s a trade off. I was hoping to be able to slide it under the bed to store it, but that’s not possible. Overall, it looks like it will be exactly what I need for beach trips with the family.

Looking forward to using it this coming summer! UPDATE; I’ve used it now for several summers. Good quality; is holding up well. CONS; The heavier weight of the wagon adds alot once u get it loaded. Even with the wider wheels it’s really really hard to pull in soft sand when loaded.

I loved the wagon overall. Easy to open and close, the wheels are bulky but to be expected since this is an all-terrain wagon. The table is nice, and wagon is sturdy enough to pull my two toddlers. We also use it for ballgames and it held our chairs, cooler and other gear well.

Unfortunately, the handle bar is off centered which causes the handlebars To scrape against one of the front wheels. The seller, Spreetail, has been very responsive in sending me a return label. They are to send me a replacement as soon as I return this one.

I’ve not seen this particular beach cart at the beach. It turned out to be perfect for our NC beach vacation. It was easy to roll from our beach house, to the public access boardwalk, and then on sand.

The mesh bag is nice to hold our sand toys. It handled our two beach chairs nicely. Not sure if you can put more if your mesh bag is full of stuff. The pocket for the umbrella was too small to fit if you have your umbrella in a bag, unassembled.

Would recommend velcro carbines to also carry bags. Only real negative was the bottom fold out didn’t want to stay out. Overall, very happy with the cart.

Plus: this is a great beach cart and really hard to find elsewhere. Oversize wheels for easily pulling through sand. Secret zip pocket. Large mesh bag for stuff with drawstring closure. outer straps to hold thinks down like umbrella’s or toys.

Tray for drinks and snacks. Easy assembly. Flat fold for storage. Great color. Very effecient design makes this excellent for the beach and all out door gatherings when you need to carry “stuff”. Bummer: Note to Walmart – Get your manufacture to give you spare wheels to stock.

My cart arrived with one broken wheel. Between placing my order and receiving my shipment the item sold out. Since I didn’t want to give up the cart, I paid to have the wheel fixed. My only other option was to send it back.

I noticed other reviewers had this issue as well. This really is a 5-star Beach Cart. Even though I had to get it fixed, in the long run it will be worth it.

This does exactly what I hoped it would do. Took it to the beach where I needed to walk a good distant with supplies (cooler, chairs, etc) this was excellent. Moved well over the sand. The fact that it doubles as a table on the sand is amazing too.

yes its a little bulky for a small car, I have a mid size and it fits in the trunk with one of the rear seats down. Still does a perfect job. Don’t hesitate. buy it!!.

Our wagon is great and we love all of its features. However, we’ve only been using it for a year and initially noticed the front wheels starting to slant inwards. Now the front wheel just completely comes out.

My inlaws and brother have the same exact wagon and are running into the same issue. You’ll be strolling along and the front wheel will just be falling over. They need to redesign it so that it is held in it is secured into its socket.

I’m trying to figure out workarounds but may have to reconstruct them on my own. I would not recommend buying this particular wagon. It appears that some of the other models have front wheels that secure differently.

I bought this wagon for my son and my 3 year old granddaughter. They loved it! It went together easily. He liked that the Canopy is removable and the poles move easily up and down. He also liked that you could make a side flap fold down.

And he liked how compact it was when folded. He said it was pretty good in the sand; going up hill in the loose sand required some extra muscle – as he expected. Overall, excellent in his opinion. And as for my granddaughter, when they headed onto the beach access road where it wasn’t so smooth, she just said she was on the “choo-choo tracks”.

After that, the next time to the beach — “Choo-choo!” Yes, we are taking your choo-choo. From my perspective a great deal that resulted in great fun!.

This is a nice wagon. It has a good amount of space in it and we love the drop down side feature. The canopy is really nice for shade. The bottle holders are small so they won’t fit all bottles. The pull handle extends but it’s harder to pull up sand down than it should be.

The chair holder is really helpful! Please note it’s not a push handle because it doesn’t connect to the wheels. It is still difficult to pull through the sand even though it has sand tires. One of the wheels came damaged so the protective cap doesn’t fit.

It’s still functional but I’m disappointed about it.

We purchased this primarily for non beach use. We have loaded it down with 5 chairs, a cooler, snack bag and a miscellaneous bag. It rolled and steered easily on pavement and gravel. We also took this across a large field with tall thick grass and it pulled easier than expected.

We like the larger size, it is wider and longer than most standard wagons. It also folds up super easily and is fairly compact when folded.

Works best on wet sand, paved, dirt, and gravel surfaces. Deep, dry sand or mud will bog it down as these surface conditions will with with most anything aside from wide pneumatic wheels. The packability is great with the collapse and carry mode.

Disappointing. Picture shows kids in wagon and at beach. Kids can’t sit in wagon without laying down a pad of some sort because the mesh just lays on the very uncomfortable frame, and the wheels do not work on the sand.

I bought the Beach Cart XL to replace a 10+ year-old Reels On Wheels fishing cart. I’m an avid surf fisherman, and fully loaded with beach and fishing gear, it was just too difficult for one person to roll through the sand.

After pricing balloon wheel upgrades, I decided to ditch the ROW and get a new cart. The Beach Cart XL was just what I needed – almost. In addition to the cart, I ordered the 16″ wheel upgrade, a swing arm extension, and the RoboCup+.

All arrived within 2 days of ordering. Super fast service. Pluses – this cart rolls effortlessly across soft sand. It almost seems that it rolls better when heavily loaded. The chair racks are awesome; just make sure you balance your load to keep the cart from tipping backwards.

The liner is a major plus – no more worrying about smaller items falling through. The cart is plenty big enough to haul beach umbrellas, chairs, fishing gear, cooler, tackle box in one trip. I took Mike’s recommendation on air pressure in the tires and invested in a low-pressure tire gauge.

2 pounds of air is sufficient to carry a fully loaded cart. The RoboCups solve the problem of where to put your beverage while surf fishing. A 32-oz. Yeti won’t fit in the regular RoboCup but it’ll fit in the plus addition.

I haven’t used the swing arm yet so can’t report on it. The only minus, and it’s a very small minus, is fishing rod portability. I have to break down my two surf rods to get out of the condo. The ROW cart had 4 tubes on the back which would hold the 4 sections of fishing rod.

I thought the Robocups might be a solution but the top rod section wouldn’t fit in them. So I’m still working on a solution. The only other thing I need is a way to haul it on a trailer hitch, and Mike says he’s working on that.

All in all the Beach Cart XL is the best thing out there and the customer service is outstanding. You won’t regret buying one.

I have been going to the beach my entire life. Spending as much for a beach cart as I would a commercial grade power tool set at first seemed like a bad decision. But the cart is a tool and if it works the way it is supposed to, you are getting what you paid for.

It turns out, it was everything I expected. I did a decent amount of research last summer when my wife and I were expecting. I was looking for something that is going to work as it should and last the duration.

I think this fits the bill. Much of the competition was built similar, but the chair posts were the difference maker. The only thing you need to pay attention to while loading is that with a good amount of chairs, it creates a tipping situation towards the back (even with a cooler in the front).

But if you have a back pack or something, throw it on the pull handle and suddenly its balanced with very little effort. Good tool for hauling all of the joyous things kids bring to the beach.

An amazing cart!! I have someone stop me to ask about it EVERY time I go out on the beach with it. I got the upgraded 16″ wheels, which are great, but just check the width measurements to make sure it will fit through the door opening.

Was just a little too wide to get through our open door, so I had to shave down the axle and also use something on each side to slide it through the door. The regular wheels might be a little more narrow, so just measure with the door open to see what you need prior to ordering.

Customer service was great and extremely prompt! Still trying to help me make the situation more functional, which is greatly appreciated. I also purchased the Robocup plus add-on and a surfboard rack.

Both are excellent accessories! I can move the Robocup to the umbrella pole and higher so my little kiddos can’t grab things out of it. Surfboard rack is great for pool noodles and folded umbrella. You can get ankle weights (I recommend 10lb set) to hang on the handle to balance it when chairs are hanging from the chair racks.

My chairs are too narrow to fit over the chair poles, so I just hang them from the backpack straps and worked just as great. Looking forward to a front wheel to make travel to/from the beach even easier.

But still so much better than any other wagon or cart I have tried. Very good quality.

I purchased this wagon to replace an old beat up wagon we had for years. Well the wagon in a great size and it suits our needs, but the wheels keep falling off. The wagon wasn’t cheap so expected more from it.

I secure the clips several times only to find that they will not stay on. Needless to say if the wheel will not stay secure, the wagon is useless.

Pros: Durable and well made. Folds flat for transport in hatchback. Generous capacity for conveying beach equipment, etc. Cons: Despite large diameter wheels, was quite difficult to roll over deep to semi-deep sand.

Adult men were needed to pull cart across sand and up onto ramp to boardwalk. Cart was loaded with 1 beach umbrella, 2 beach chairs, blanket, cooler, towels, accessory bag. (We ended up gifting our cart to our older son; we hand-carried most of the items to the beach during another visit.

I just received this in the mail, and my initial thoughts are how much I love it. My other thought is how much I wish it had some additional accessories… maybe some wrap around Velcro pouches for the sides… a cargo net… detachable canopy… but most importantly… (for me) a way to protect from drizzle/rain….

I live in Portland and am using this for my business and it rains frequently…. I love consistency and don’t want to just secure a random tarp over it. Anyways… love it, will be using it weekly! Hope there will be an expansion of accessories in the future!.

I think the wagon is well made and attractive. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because I don’t think it rolls over sand ver well as advertised. I bought it specifically to use on our NC beaches.

I truly think only ballon tires will work well in deep sand. Also I have seen the same type wagon for sale with a cheaper price tag. I do have to say I love the different colors. It is also easy to open up and pack down for putting in the car.

This purchase is worth the price. You can use it carry beach, pool and any heavy groceries. You can carry your small kids around. It’s pretty amazing. Also it doesn’t take a lot of effort to pull. It has a very easy and compact fold.

I had a folding wagon for 15 years before it broke a few weeks ago, long before the craze caught on. I put that thing thru the wringer, moved my whole house with it, shopping, gardening, work, you name it.

I got this one recently and have used it mostly for shopping and gardening. I immediately ran into a couple problems. The buttons to put the “push” arm up are very difficult to use and continually pop out, I almost lost one to the garbage already.

The arms for the canopy tend to get caught on everything so I am not expecting them to last long. The wheels are a type of plastic not rubber so slide alot but the width helps along with the brakes. The frame seems kind of wobbly.

Overall I like the size is nice size and love the color. I think it’s quite overpriced for what it is and I don’t think I will near as many years out of this based on its performance already. I can’t live without my wagon and would recommend it.

A folding wagon will make your life sooo much easier.

The wagon itself was fine, but when we opened it to use on Easter (was a gift) it had huge stains in the inside, as if juice or some sort of liquid had been spilled all over it! The wagon had obviously been used and returned and never checked before it was sent out to us!!! When i called Customer Service the wagon was of course sold out and they could fo very little for me! Not a great experience with one of my favorite stores….

Do Better Bed Bath and Beyond!!.

This cart seems sturdy, especially for the price. It will help with groceries, delivered packages, and large packs of TP. It is heavy, so consider that if you plan to place in your vehicle. I highly recommend opening the box outside.

After removing the cart from the box flat on the floor, I stood up the box to remove tape for recycling. Tiny plastic beads, some sharp, rained out of the box and scattered all over my floor. Give the cart a good shake outside before placing in your vehicle or home.

Bought this to take camping. Fit so much in it, able to fit on narrow gangway of the ferry. Very sturdy. Compared it to other trolleys being used at the camp-site and this was definitely the superior trolley.

Great for organising your stuff at the camp-site as well as transport. Looking forward to using it more this summer!.

I’m so glad I purchased this wagon – it’s come in handy so many times. It’s heavy duty – it can hold a fair amount of weight. And it rolls smoothly – I can shift directions really easily. It doesn’t really remain upright when collapsed, so I keep it in my building’s storage unit when it’s not in use.

But whenever I need to haul something a bit heavy or clumsy, it’s definitely worth the effort to haul it out!.

I bought this for a 10 day trip to move things into and out of hotel rooms on a daily basis. It worked wonderfully for that. (10 day, 7 different hotels). Folds up easily and compactly for storage and transport and holds a lot of “stuff” when opened.

The only thing that needed to get used to was navigating doors with self closures on them. But after a few screw ups, that was worked out. It handles well in tight places, like getting on and off elevators.

A great buy in my opinion.

I purchased “Rosie” (I selected the pink version. ) so that I can walk to the grocery rather than taking the car a couple of blocks. She’s about the size of a grocery cart. I can load her up with a LOT of groceries packed in insulated bags and roll them home.

She’s sturdy, easy to maneuver and attractive. I fold her up, put on her cover and park her in our garage. I have a pink garden hat to complete the ensemble. She gets compliments at the store and I feel better knowing I walked.

We have had this cart for about a year or so. We got it mainly to transport laundry from our apartment to the laundry room. My one pre-purchase suggestion is to get out your measuring tape and see just how big it is – it IS big.

By the time I put my laundry, purse, soaps, reading material, and folding chair into it, it doesn’t seem so big. For storage, we two elders can squeeze it up and put the cover on, but when just one of is doing it, I use the LLBean item Everyday Lightweight Tote to cover it – if I sit and squeeze the cart toward me, I can put this bag over it.

Easy-peasy and it looks nice. Probably not good if you are transporting the cart, as the bag would most likely slip off, but for sitting in the corner, it works just fine.

I bought this wagon from the Freeport store while on vacation. The wheel was a little squeaky, but we thought it just got some sand in it. It worked well to cart things to the beach, but once it was on sand it is really difficult to pull.

When we got it home, we used it twice to carry our 1 year old and some towels to the pool. The second time we used it, the plastic tread broke off of the tire. The size of the cart is great, but rubber tires would make this better!.

As expected from L. L. Bean, the quality of this wagon is excellent. I love all of the additional pockets it has. The cup holders hold big water bottles and are deep enough to handle taller ones, as well.

The wheels are sturdy and make heavy loads easy to haul. I have used this wagon almost every day since I purchased it. And this weekend, we are taking it for its first beach day! This was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

Also, pro tip, when you go to store it, I find that because of the extra pockets, giving it a big bear hug brings it in tight enough to easily fasten with the strap and the cover fits on more easily, too.

I am a musician. I drive a small car. I resisted getting a wagon like this, the ones my friends have are either too small to help a whole lot, or they are too big to fit in my car. I would have to leave my gear home, just to make room for my “gear-hauler”! And I found this one from woods.

It is considerably larger than many others, and yet it folds down small enough that it has a permeant place in my trunk. It unfolds and refolds easily. I have only used it twice so far, but it seems quite sturdy.

The price was a little higher than some of the alternatives, but with them, I would have spent the money, while still not getting my needs met. With this, I spent a little more, and the birds sing, the sun comes out, and all is right with the world.

DEFINATELY worth the extra! (saving a few dollars is sometimes a waste of money) One of the best “gear purchases” I have made this year.

We looked at many reviews, trying to find a wagon that would work well at the beach. Some say large wheels, others say regular, some even recommend the pneumatic wheels. We had borrowed a friend’s wagon with regular wheels, and it was so difficult on the sand.

This Woods wagon is perfect. It is a great price point, and it arrived quickly for a beach trip. We load it up with everything: cooler, towels, chairs, collapsible tent. Then we are set for the beach day.

Highly recommend for all sorts of activities and uses. When the toddler grandson comes to visit, we will pull him around in it!.

After looking at all of the portable wagons at my local sporting goods store and seeing what people were using I was expecting to get the same quality garbage that I was seeing. This stuff is seriously nice.

They really thought of everything when they designed this wagon. To boot, the quality is top notch. The fabric is heavy and should last for years and years. The frame is sturdy and the wheels are solid.

So glad to be surprised on this one.
