Love this and ended up moving onto the biggest bottles. Make sure you know how to use it though as its a good trap for many new fishkeepers. It’s not that it “doesnt work” you just have to do it right.

Make sure the bottle is in date as out of date bacteria is dead bacteria most likely. When using for fish in cycling, dose the aquarium EVERY DAY with this until your ammonia and nitrites are 0ppm (with API liquid test kit; a worthy investment) and make sure you keep nitrates under 40ppm.

When adding more fish after your cycle, use the bacteria every day once again for at LEAST a week to let the tank get used to the new ammonia. Always introduce new fish in small amounts. Hope this helped someone, but always do your research!.

This helped clear out the ick so much faster than anything else I tried to use! I originally used a fin and body cure that I was recommended but it only made everything worse and made my fish die faster and in the end 95% of my fish died.

This stopped my fish from dying almost immediately and I seen results very fast. Thank you so much for such a great product! Hopefully it doesn’t happen again but if it does (especially in my quarantine tank) I will for sure be buying this again!.

I used this solution about a week into cycling my fish tank (fishless cycle using ammonia) and it did bring down the ammonia in a few days. It didn’t appear to make any noticeable difference for nitrites though as the levels continued to climb past 5ppm to unmeasurable levels due to test kits stopping at 5ppm.

Later on I purchased a competing product and it effectively brought down nitrites in one day. I believe a 2 part process where you first input the bacteria for ammonia and then several days later administer nitrite bacteria would be more effective than an all in one solution sort of a part 1 and a part 2.

I have received Api water conditioner 473ml in seven 30ml bottles, instead of one bottle as shown in the website. Bottle is not sealed. Not sure if the contents are even water conditioner. Product shown in the website is different from the packaged received.

I have been using the API Tap Water Conditioner for 11 years since I first started keeping goldfish as pets. I found that the conditioner works like a charm without having to age water first. When I clean the fish tank and add new water from the tap, I pour in 3/4 to 1 capful of conditioner for 40 gallons.

I usually do a 80% water change for the goldfish. I know some people say to just do a 25% weekly water change but goldfish are very dirty and it also depends on how many you have. There is enough beneficial bacteria in the filter and decorations and my fish are very healthy and happy.

The solution is highly concentrated and a little goes a long ways. I highly recommend this product and use it in conjunction with Stress Zyme and Stress Coat each time I do a water change. They work well together hand in hand like a well fitting glove.

I have both a 150 gallon reef tank and a 50 gallon planted, freshwater tank. For the reef tank I make rodi water, but for my freshwater tank I’ve always had better luck using tap water. API tap water conditioner gives me confidence my water is free of chorine and chloramine when I do water changes.

I had a brand new setup (no fish) where the ph was about 7. 8. in my 40 gallon tank I used about half the bottle and saw no change in ph. Only after I added a general water balancing agent did I see the ph drop.

If this is really sulfuric acid in a bottle, the ph should’ve dropped significantly with how much I used (I mixed the water manually and tested after about 10 minutes so I know nothing in the tank was re-raising the ph).

If you want to lower the pH in your water, this product is all you need. It doesn’t take much, my tapwater is way up in the 7pH maybe even as high as 8pH range, I feel up a gallon of water then add 1/3 Tsp that’s 1.

65 milliliters of pH down and my gallon of water is around 6. 2 – 6. 3. Like I said you don’t need to use much. Like all things it takes some getting used to but once you get it down pat you’ll have no problem using this product.

After testing my water, the pH was high and the alkalinity tested high as well. I used pH down and the pH went up. I think the bottles are switched, and I don’t want my fish to die because of a factory mistake!.

Our koi and goldfish seem to love this food just fine. I’m surprised by some of the other reviews. I like the two different sizes of pellets since we have a huge range of sizes of fish in our pond. We’re not raising elite show quality koi.

Most were born in the pond and are basically mutts, but they grow fast and appear quite healthy and this food helps us stay on a budget. The water never gets cloudy, etc. I do buy a couple different brands and mix in a container to give them variety.

This food is horrible I cannot believe that it’s something the pros use as stated in the description. It smells like cheap dog food bag when you open it. It’s greasy and does not even smell like fish food.

My fish will not eat it and they spit it out immediately. It’s a good price but if your fish won’t eat it it’s a waste of money. I would not recommend this to anybody with fish the cheap store brands like tetra and aqueon have much much better food that my fish were actually eat.

Omega one is my favorite brand I guess I will be sticking with it and tetra they actually smell like fish food you know a little fishy smelling I gave it to my neighbor to feed his huge goldfish that we eat anything I mean anything and they will not eat it my neighbor said it is the first food he’s ever fed them in 10 years that they would not touch.

This food has been excellent so far. My fish loves it and the size wasn’t too big. I was a little worried about the size since he’s still a bit small but they’re not much bigger than the smaller size pieces.

I love that we transitioned to floating food, he’s so much more personable now, even letting me pet him from time to time.

I have used many water conditioners on the Beatles that I have owned through The years. Nutrafin betta plus is my absolute favorite. I have two bettas right now both of whom are over a year old. They have no fin rot, their slime coat is good, and I definitely a tribute some of their good health to this good product.

I really like Nutrafin Betta Plus Water Conditioner. I use it with all four of my bettas however the small bottle pretty much goes by pretty quickly and that can add up quite a bit. I decided that I just use a little of the Nutrafin with a few drops of Seachem Prime which actually removes ammonia, Nutrafin does not.

I think it is better to use Nutrafin Betta Plus Water Conditioner as a supplemental water conditioner along with one like Prime that removes ammonia from the water. Just a little of Nutrafin goes a long way.

I know. One of my boys is a tailbiter and the tropical almond extract has been healing his fins nicely.

While this may condition the water. It does not clear a cloudy tank. I used it for a 1 gallon tank with fresh water and it was cloudy the next day. I feel like it excelerated the cloudiness. Went with a Tetra brand to clear the tank up and it is great!.

The big bottle. This is what you need to keep up with all your water changes. It really is safe. Ive doubled and trippled the recommended dose. With no issuse at all. Just add tap water in a bucket, put in your needed dose, wait one hour and your all set to add your new water to your tank.

Frequent partial water changes solves so many problems in your tank. This may not be the greatest water conditioner out there. But defenetly enough to get the job done.

As others have pointed out-THIS IS NOT A WATER CONDITIONER. It does not remove chlorine from new tap water, like a water conditioner does. I use this weekly, as stated on the label, to balance the aquarium water’s PH.

I’ve got a 38 gallon with large fancy fantail goldfish. They eat, pee and poop a lot. I was having an ammonia problem. Easy Balance Plus helps to eliminate waste, uneaten food, and the ammonia-reduces nitrates & phosphates.

Regulates ideal PH. With weekly Easy Balance use, and recommended aeration & proper filtering, frequent water changes are reduced (once every 6 months). I’ve been using it to rid the tank of ammonia.

After 2 months of use, my fish are happy and thriving. No ammonia issue! Reducing water changes will be an added plus!.

I use this as a breeder box of sorts moving my fry into here when there’re big enough to eat and not be monitored, however, where I’ve moved the water and alkalinity is horrible and I wanted my all of my tanks to be safe so I started with this one; what happened next was – well.

as you can see you can’t even tell what’s inside the tank! My EXACT steps were: 1. Pump in tank while I went over directions and then googled how best to administer from the community (as in the tank/bucket/outside bowl) when I’d emptied 20% I began filling buckets as usual and since there was an ever divided decision as to how best to add the product I added it directly to the tank (I did round up to 15 gallons as it’s every 5 gal measurements and this is an almost 15 gal tank) slowly pouring this and my stress coat in at very small increments where the filter waterfall is 2.

Retrieved my first now full bucket and did the same slow pour of the water in then the next two until the tank was full 3. Switched out one piece of bottom filter floss and 3 crunchy/done alder cones with new ones and whilst adding in the other 3 over the next day and a half to observe the coloration and tannin leeching I saw that it did darken much quicker then I’d prefer; so I did a 10% change with just base conditioner as I would for any strong driftwood or clay.

Then I went to bed. when I woke up today, this was the result and THE ONLY thing I did differently which I would not normally was add the “balancer”. I keep my tannins fresh always with a water change and always over a days time and I always use stress coat as my conditioner.

Soooo I’m really not wanting to test my parameters as I’m sure I’ll be beyond angery but this is quite enough, I figured I’d write it while I could be objective before I go dive in to fix this mess and not after I’m up to my eyeballs in black dyed baby bettas! While I appreciate the shipping speed of this product, tetra Safestart does not work as a bacteria starter. Bacteria must be shipped in special conditions to be kept alive (specific temp) This was bad planning on my part, but I have learned my lesson.

Fritz zyme 7 is likely a better option for bacteria because it has instructions on keeping the culture alive so that your not pouring dead bacteria into an aquarium like I did. I will continue to shop at petco but not for this product.

I’ve used this product 5 times. Every time I start a new tank or have a cycle crash (due to meds or other outside forces), I go out and buy a little bottle of this liquid gold. I had my first betta’s tank cycled in 2 weeks with this product.

You can’t just set it and forget it; you have to test the water as you go, because ammonia and nitrite can still climb with this product, and if they get too high, you have to perform water changes. All of my fish have lived long and healthy lives when I’ve used this stuff.

Granted, I’ve only used this on betta tanks/tanks with existing cycles after big water changes, so YMMV. Great stuff if you know how to utilize it though!.

This product should be called “Bottled Cycle”. It’s miraculous and it 100% works, every time (unlike API Quick Start or Seachem Stability). I’ve cycled three tanks with it. None of thrm took longer than 6 days.

Don’t skimp, though. Pour the wholes bottle in (no less than 24h after you’ve used Prime or another water conditioner, since Tetra claims they reduce SafeStart’s efficacy).

This product is a must have in your aquarium supplies. I’ve used NovAqua for over 20 years. It is the best and economical water conditioner on the market, in my opinion. I have it on hand at every water change and also during any times of stress in fish and with fish transport.

This product has been around for many years. I’ve used it for many years and it is a trusted product. Local fish stores don’t carry it anymore. Unlike some other products, it does not cause cloudy water because of chemical reactions.

This is my fave brand of dechlorinator. I have a lot of big tanks and I do 80% water changes. I have never had a problem using this product. I use a hose that is connected to the kitchen water facet to refill the tank.

I just pour the amount needed (maybe a little more to be on the safe side) into the aquarium right before the new water reaches the tank. The fish all come though the water change with no problems. I like to use this product because it not only neutralizes chlorine and chloramines, it also adds a slime coating that protects fish and aids nitrifying bacteria (the good guys) and buffers the water so pH changes are prevented.

If you don’t want to kill any fish changing water then these are all things to keep in mind.

I use this product with every single water change and every time I replace water due to evaporation or whenever I clean my aquarium. It’s a great product that I cannot live without when taking care of my beloved Betta fish – Finley.

It dechlorinates the water and makes it perfectly safe for my Betta. It is a very good product and it’s a great price and available at my local shopping center.

This stuff is great not just for betta fish it works for guppy fish and aquatic turtles to. It’s even better than the one for turtles because it doesn’t cause the water to have a slight green color and it adds stress reducing coat for easily stressed turtles.

It’s no to slimy. I don’t need a lot of water for my baby turtles so I only fill 1/3 water for my 10 gallon tank. I fill up four one gallons empty jugs with tap water add enough drops let the jugs sit for 1 week before I use the water.

This way you can insure that the chemicals from this stuff is not to strong, the water is safer to use and the water will not be cloudy.

I had these small bottles of water shipped to an invalid the doctor wants to drink more water. The small bottles of water enables him to drink 8 ozs at a time without being overwhelmed by giving him larger bottles.

Giving him these small bottles enables him to drink more water without complaining that he can’t drink that much water. So far, he has not refused the small bottles of water. Also, the water is a great price for 80 bottles and was shipped timely.

I usually purchase the 33. 8 FL OZ Coca-Cola Company’s Glaceau SmartWater “ORIGINAL,” but elected to try the ANTIOXIDANT version this time around. I found the Antioxidant taste to be a better than the Original bottle.

So I looked at the ingredients and the only difference is, the Antioxidant version adds Sodium Selenate. I researched and found that this ingredient is inorganic, can be toxic in high doses, but is “chosen for its selenium content and high solubility.

Sodium selenate is a common ingredient in over-the-counter vitamin supplements” (source: Wikipedia). So while I will keep, and drink the two cases I purchased, I personally would rather refrain from drinking the extra ingredient of Sodium Selenate and stick with the Original version, which does not contain it.

The choice is yours, but I personally cannot recommend. Delivery by my local Walmart was perfect! Size of the bottle is also perfect; I love how much the bottle contains, so that I know how much water I have consumed in one sitting.

As well, these tall bottles fit in the standard-size cup holders in vehicles!.

I have used other bacteria starters for aquariums and this is the only one that has actually worked. Be aware, the number of gallons you see on the label online does *not* match what the bottles say in-store, despite being the same size.

It’s better to have too much than not enough, so I’d recommend buying a bottle size larger than what you think you need. As for effectiveness, this product scores 10/10. I completely cleaned an old and gross 20g tank, filled it up with water, dechlorinated, and after the temperature was stable I added Tetra SafeStart Plus.

A couple hours later, I added four fancy guppies and a small clown pleco. Not but 3 days later, I tested my water, and while ammonia was present it was low, there were no nitrites detected, and nitrates were at 5.

0ppm, showing that the product worked. I would highly recommend SafeStart Plus for starting a new aquarium or re-starting a broken cycle. Start off with a small number of fish and once testing shows the cycle has started, then you can add more.

So I have two goldfish that I’m currently using for a fish in cycle for what will be my axolotls permanent tank and I breed Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. All of them eat Tetra goldfish flakes (the roaches obviously get other foods as well but the fish flakes help up their protein intake to make molting easier).

The minute I put them in the fish tank, the fish come flying up to eat them. The minute I put them in the roach tank, roaches come running (see the baby in the picture?). I’ve tried others brands of goldfish flakes and my animals will only eat the Tetra brand.

We’d definitely be in trouble without them.

Applied smoothly! When that said is more like 8. In my personal opinion still shining after 8 hours is pretty amazing! It is pretty saturated with color just I need it two layers to get my perfect color.

At first the texture is nice and smooth after around five minutes dry but still feels moisture. Strange, but I love it. Feels luxury!really curious to try the other shades show less.

I really prefer not to feed my fish flakes. It makes them take in air when they go up to the top to eat them which is not good for them. Sometimes I make them my own food at home with Hikari blends they have great product great recipes.

I often feed them blood worms, I like to give them different selections throughout the week and switch it up so they get all the nutrients they need – which they DO NOT get from only flakes. I actually hate fish flakes.

Brought this for use in my sons new tank which is only 25l. Unfortunately this product is so concentrated that had to guestimate usage, pretty much one drop. For large water changes and tanks great or if a tiny syringe was provided with product.

Our goldfish Bowie (he has one funny eye) is the sole survivor of our 10 gallon tank. Many a fish has come and gone in this tank; some more exotic and beautiful, some more seemingly intelligent, and yes, some less annoying.

Bowie has even survived King Froggy, who moved with us years ago to the new town. How has Bowie survived? How has he lived through this tank’s ups and downs, various phases of cleanings, water replacements, population additions and subtractions? Indeed, how has he not only managed to survive, but also to live well and even thrive? How has he grown through the years to may we say immense proportions, even almost as large as the tank itself?! The answer is simple.

Bowie has been fed, and overfed, a steady diet of TetraFin Plus Goldfish Flakes. Each day we walk in, and there’s Bowie – gazing at me expectantly with his funny eye, splashing around, waving his fins to get my attention – he wants his flakes!! As we dump them in the tank, he comes to the surface to greedily gulp them down, doing a Michael Jackson backpedal as the food pours in.

For only having a memory of six seconds, this goldfish sure does know it’s food time. After Bowie has noisily slurped the food from the surface, he dives and swims and catches the falling TetraFin Plus Goldfish Flakes on their way down.

He then stirs the bottom with his tail and fins, and stirs up and scours the remains. For several minutes afterward we hear him smashing into the rocks headfirst to dislodge and devour every speck of every flake as if it’s his last meal.

What exactly is the Plus of these TetraFin Goldfish Flakes? We’re not exactly sure, but Bowie surely intuitively knows. He loves them, and we love feeding them to him. We are grateful he is happy with this food, and he is surely grateful to be fed.

Tonight as he receives more we will remember this review as we watch him dance and swim. And we will be happy as well.

My fancy tailed guppies and terta barbs really liked these food flakes m it exceeded my expectations. They weren’t bad on my water in the aquarium. No i. provements needed. They are affordable and I like the flakes are colorful and fish love the scent and colors and taste.

They are healthy for my fish and water. I 100 % reccomend to fish owner’s. One little bottle lasts for months and months.
