20 Best Water Proof Tape (2022 Updated)

I had a hunting blind decide it wanted to explore the field during turkey season. It took some damage on the roof, wall, windows, I didn’t know what to do so I tried this tape. I taped over the rips and packed the blind up.

Upon unpacking and folding the blind out the tape was exactly were I put it. The tape held up for weeks in the weather being folded and stretched out again several times. It has held up amazingly. I even repaired a rip in my son neoprene hunting boot, it held up and he had no leaks.

Reading the other reviews about putting it under water and thinking it will stick almost turned me off buying it. The instructions say all air and water must be removed from under tape. I’m not sure how you can apply it under water and remove all the water from underneath it.

These people are not willing to drain the water and make sure there is a good bond they’re expect this tape to bend the laws of physics for them. I would highly recommend this tape if used properly it is amazing!.

I bought it with one purpose in mind: to patch together a side mirror casing on my car that was shattered by a TTC bus. I didn’t want to spend $450 bucks on an OEM part, so tried the tape instead. The tape matches the colour and shine on my car paint.

The mirror casing is plastic, and the tape is holding well after 2 months, in sun, rain and snow. It is hardly noticeable. But keep in mind that the tape doesn’t work on certain other surfaces. I had some to spare, and applied to a tear in rubber boots, and it doesn’t stick.

Bought this to patch a wide five inch gouge in a 30 yr old pond liner. Stuck immediately but to make sure I also carefully smoothed out all wrinkles and bubbles. And then coated all edges with some liquid rubber and finally used an old spray can of flex seal over the whole mess.

I can’t even see where I patched the liner now. Complete success.

I got this tape to fix the siding on my mobile home skirting. Over the years the weather takes a toll on our skirting and siding. I used this clear tape to patch up some holes in the skirting. I recommend reading the label before ripping it off and not being able to.

I used sharp scissors after measuring what size I needed and they worked really well. I would suggest a sharp pair to cut through the thickness. The backing came off easy and went on and sealed up nicely.

I didn’t find any faults with this brand of tape! I prefer it for heavier projects. I have not seen any leaking and noticed a difference in the air flow for the better!.

We love to go camping and always had duct tape with us in case we needed to mend something on the fly. While that seemed to work OK, this Gorilla Waterproof patch & seal tape works SO much better. Hole in your tent? Hole in your shoe? Backpack strap break? It will work for any of these things and get you through until you can get a real replacement (or, sometimes it will work so well you won’t even need to get a replacement).

This is perfect for camping, hiking, boating, wherever you might not have access to other tools and supplies.

Tried out this Waterproof Patch and seal clear tape. This tape is extra sticky, durable, and really sticks where you place it. When I was cutting a piece of the tape, it would stick to the scissors. It stuck in place very well.

I placed it on the bottom of my screen door to prevent cold air from coming in and it worked great. I felt no air coming in. Overall a really great tape that works extremely well.

Our home was built in 1875 so all the plumbing was specifically retrofitted as new upgrades were available. One area is under my kitchen sink. I have a double bowl aluminum sink and one of the pvc pipes was leaking at a connection.

No matter how hard you tried to tighten the nut, we still got drips. So, enter the Alien Shield tape that claims to instantly seal rips, cracks and stop leaks. This is a waterproof indoor and outdoor tape and claims to repair leaky pipes.

I loosened the pvc nut and raised it out of my way and applied the tape to the area that was leaking. I wrapped it 2 times so the nut would be tight when I lowered it and used a wrench to tighten. This tape is 4 inches wide so it definitely covered the area above and below the leak.

I am happy to say that the problem leak under my sink is fixed! The seal is tight, there is no moisture or leakage from the pipes and when I pour water or other liquids down the sink, no worries! I am extremely happy with the Alien Shield and definitely will keep be using it for other easy fix, small leaks I encounter.

This tape is amazing. It works incredibly on everything that I’ve tried in on so far. Our dog recently dug up a drip irrigation line and left some new tooth holes for me to deal with. I didn’t want to have to immediately replace an entire section of tubing and was looking for options.

I decided to give this tape a try for this project and it worked like a dream. I cleaned the area that I wanted to apply it to, dried it off, applied the tape, and gave it time to set. Shortly after, I ran the lines on full blast.

There wasn’t a single leak or problem area. After several days of monitoring it, everything held up perfectly and I was able to bury the line again. Since then, I’ve taped up cracked buckets and other random jobs.

It works perfectly each time. Great product!.

Just got my Alien Shield tape recently. I like the way the rolls are separated in 3 rolls. I can give one to a family or friend being they are in separated rolls. I can put one in the RV or vacation home, separate from the main home roll.

The tape cuts to size for different projects, — and I like that. My shower curtain rips, and this tape works great for making it last longer and it’s water resistant. I just cut a little and rub it into place — that simple.

I get holes in my garden hoses all the time, and getting more life by adding a little of the Alien Shield saves me from buying more hoses — more often. Great product.

I’m very impressed. I had tested this tape in the most ridiculous ways and it worked. It’s really handy when you are in a tough spot. If you do the ideal preparation, you will have the results as advertised.

So, what happens when life keeps you from having ideal conditions? Stretch: The unstretched material has a relatively thick adhesive which is great for sticking to irregular surfaces. When you apply pressure, it fills all the nooks for superior adhesion.

This product can stretch a lot once the backing is removed. It can be pulled in all directions but as it is stretched, the material gets thinner. Temperature range -70 to 200 F: While this range is to let us know the effects of weather and direct sunlight on the adhesive once applied, I tried to apply it under extreme conditions.

Freezing the tape in a home refrigerator has no effect on the performance meaning that leaving it in the truck during the winter for an emergency patch will be fine. Heating the tape in the toaster was a fail, anything over 120 was burning my hands so I didn’t test the upper limit.

I did two tests which sold me on this products usefulness. First, I filled a cracked 5-gallon with water and applied the tape over the crack from the inside of the crack (under water). Once wet, it seemed like the tape was not sticky against my skin.

However, once I applied pressure, the tape stuck to the bucket and stopped the leak. Then I tried to pull the tape off and it did come off easier that if the surface were dry. If you apply it with a lot of pressure, the tape bonds even better.

It stopped the leak. Second, I tested its adhesion under pressure. I took a split garden hose and turned the water on. With the water flowing out of the split, I rubbed the surface free of surface dirt.

The first wrap I slightly stretched the material, keeping the adhesive relatively thick. I noticed a slight bulge so I wrapped it a second time stretching the material more and providing support for the first wrap.

Keep rolls around for an inexpensive fix for many urgent situations. When emergencies happen, this is a quick way to slow/stop a leak so that you have time to think.

This tape’s packaging claims in bold lettering “even works underwater”. Well, IT DOES NOT! I followed the directions: cut an oversized piece, peeled off the backing, and tried to attach it to the opening to be sealed underwater.

It immediately lost all “stickiness” upon contact with water. So much for ‘ferociously strong tape’ also claimed in bold oil the packaging. $10 down the drain.

Wow! I for some reason am always using lots of packing tape/ clear tape in my house. I use it for packaging to quick fixes and crafty stuff and beyond. I have purchased tons of tape over the years and let me say this, this tape is everything and the Only tape you will ever need to purchase again.

I was super impressed with the quality. The sticking power is amazing and you will not need to use a ton. It will get the job done efficiently and it will stick. I can’t say enough good about it. Don’t hesitate to purchase it, you’ll never use anything else again.

I used this tape to repair book bindings on my daughter’s books. VERY sticky, so a little tricky to use. However, it worked beautifully. The edges don’t peel up & it is very sturdy. Very handy to have around the house.

I have discovered this tape is excellent in the removal of dead skin flakes from the body. Just tear off a piece, slap it on the dry, flaky area, pull off, and The flaky dead skin goes with it. Im sure its great for its intended purpose as well, as it is so extremely sticky that it should be perfect for repairing certain items.

I plan to use it to repair torn window shades. It has great adhesion. I only wish the rolls were bigger. 18 yards is the biggest package they make.

My grandkids somehow got a hole in their vinyl inflatable pool. So I went in search of a waterproof tape to make the repair. When I found Duck made a waterproofing tape, I figured it would be ideal. Though it says on the packaging “Applies to wet surfaces” it does not! It barely sticks to the vinyl and the edges constantly came loose.

The packaging gave no indication as to what surfaces were not appropriate for using this tape. Additionally, I couldn’t tell through the outer wrap that the tape was not going to be flexible and stretchy.

It was also expensive, hopefully I can find some other use for it, so I won’t feel it was a total waste of money.

The Duck Brand makes useful products. This tape isn’t a miracle worker but fixes small issues. Make sure you clean the area well before applying the tape. The stuff is super sticky and will leave a residue behind, so do it right the first time and reinforce on both sides if needed.

It’s not the most flexible tape but I was able to use it on a leaky window and a leaky hose faucet outside. The tape works, but won’t fix every problem you have because it’s not as flexible and will only patch small issues.

It really comes down to trial and error.

This tape works very well to waterproof things. We recently used it to seal up my daughter’s apartment windows that leak air and water terribly. It sticks really well and no wind or rain can get past it.

It’s hard to find tape that will work well to waterproof AND have strong adhesive so it won’t peel off. This stuff works like a charm! I’ve used it outdoors and indoors multiple times and each time I have been really impressed with how well it holds up to water and wind.

This is your tape if you need something strong that truly is waterproof.

Okay so reason for the bad review. This product is absolutely the worse product. It is waaaaaaaay over rated for it’s “wonderful performance. ” People have used this bad product to seal roofs on RV’s, trailers, etc.

Once this product is on a surface it is almost impossible to remove it. And if you are planning on doing this as a temporary fix on anything and remove it or put a sealer over it to do a more permanent job down the road it won’t work.

Nothing will stick to it once it is applied. We do RV repairs and if this stuff is applied to a roof or anything else we won’t even take on the job. It is really that bad. So buyer beware!!!.

I was a little skeptical about this product just because it seemed like a “too good to be true” product. A piece of tape to be able to stop water leaks, just seemed too easy. Upon receiving it I tested it with 3 different tasks.

First task: solve a leak at an inside water disconnect valve. I cut off a piece of tape, carefully wrapped it around where the leak was and made sure that the joint was dry before applying(more so out of habit, not thinking about the fact that the product would adhere fine with moisture).

I then attempted to recreate the leak by completely closing and opening the disconnect valve, and even after a few minutes the product was keeping it dry. Next up was an extension water nozzle for watering tops of trees.

I had previously used a liquid glue product to secure an adapter for the sprayer type I needed and after a few minutes use it had instantly sprung a leak. Repeating the same steps as above I applied the product, but this time it wasn’t as successful.

It certainly slowed down the leak but it didn’t completely contain it, even after attempting multiple wraps around the area. To be fair, the water going through this area is under a decent amount of pressure, so I just don’t think the product was able to stand up to that amount of pressure it was producing.

The final test, was to mimic the ads I saw on TV. I had a 5 gallon buck I use for project around the house with a small hole in it. I filled it up to the brim, and left a hose running in it so it would constantly be refilling any water that leaked out of the hole.

I then applied a piece of tape inside of the bucket in the water, and gave it a good rubbing to make sure it was locked into place. Sure enough, it stopped the water leaking. I left the bucket over night filled with water and even the next day it was still holding the water just fine.

I had even set the bucket on some tissue paper to make it more obvious if a leak had occurred and I couldn’t find any hints of water. Overall, a very nice product, as long as you aren’t using it in an application this is more than moderate pressure.

Definitely a great thing to keep around the house for any homeowner. Camera with photos of the uses accidentally formatted over the photos, so sadly I have no good photos to share of the places I used it.

Ive never used waterproof or rubberized tape before, so that probably contributed to my surprise once opening this product up to use. It is unlike any tape I have used and completely different than I expected.

I am impressed with how unique it is! I Included some photos of the tape; the roll itself along with photos of the inner sticky side of the tape and how much comes on a roll. The tape is very smooth on the outside, unlike other tapes and closer in my opinion to the texture of inflatable plastic pool toys.

The inside of the tape is completely different and is covered in a decently thick layer of a gooey glue type substance. It doesn’t leave residue if you remove the tape after a short period of time, but I am positive it will leave a lot of you remove it later.

Because of the unique materials used to create this tape and the width of it, it does work really well to fix things that are wet or hold water. However, I would not use it for small projects. Cutting into this tape causes the scissors to get a little gunked up, and considering most people don’t have a ton of scissors laying around I don’t recommend it.

If something has a hole in it, I would suggest using a larger piece anyways to prevent the water from easily separating the tape from the surface. A couple things to note, I’m not very confident in this product holding in the heat.

This type of glue gets thinner and more gooey when it is hot so I would take that into consideration for projects. Also I think heat would cause the residue left over to be much more significant. I would use this on something you don’t plan on removing the tape later.

Overall I think this is a very cool, unique, and useful product. It isn’t something you will use for a lot of items that need fixed but it is such a unique product that when you can use it there won’t be many other options out there.

This is actually a perk because a roll can last you a decent amount of time! Great job Flex Tape!.

Best tape ever for repairing fiberglass- plastic front bumpers for sure. The tape actually works better for me than welding; welds are not flexible. Inevitably the front bumper will go over a berm that sits a bit to high in some parking lot and break the welds where the tape is more flexible and forgiving and will hold everything together.

Thanks to Harbor Freight, they always seem to have what I need and when I need it. I came into the store expecting to get some tape, anything just long enough to hold my bumper together to get my car back home but this tape is a keeper, it is strong and water proof.

It’s already gone through the car was a couple of times and it’s still looking good.

Takes a bit of practice to get this technique down. Very wide, very sticky, tricky to cut. But once get it in place, pretty darn useful. Had a sump drain line where previous owner hadn’t used solvent/adhesive on couple of the PVC joints.

Major storm dumped a month’s rain in 4 hours. When the Sump outflow developed some back pressure from the new lake, it popped and made the sump an indoor fountain. Turned off the pump, realigned the tubes, and reseated the joint — water still flowing in from OUTSIDE.

Wrap big piece of this cleanly around the joint to hold it in alignment and to seal, and squeeze it until it flows a bit. Now the check valve at pump stops the inflow, no more water coming in. Sump could pump water out.

Boy THAT was worth every penny at that point! Held for the 36 hours until could get a plumber out.

Does not like to be put on cold items. Mine did not stick to below 40 degree metal pieces ! This is almost impossible to get a good straight cut with Scissors. It gums up and will not cut straight without a razor blade.

Very disappointed. Taking it back. Good idea about the size. But double duct tape will do just as good or better. Cost to much $.

1st time using this tape, I had a water inlet hose that split on my trailer. This tape bonded the hose back together and was super sticky. Because it is so sticky and the tape is so wide, it was hard to work with in a tight space.

But when finished I feel it was a good repair. I can use the inlet hose again and leave it until a replacement can be found. Great product, I will buy it again. It works!.

I originally bought this to seal some holes in a corrugated bitumen shed roof where the nails went through but I had a call from my tenant saying the shower was leaking through the ceiling. Knowing it would take 2 or 3 weeks to get someone to replace the shower and retile I used the gorilla tape to seal all round where the shower tray meet the tiles.

No more calls from the tenant and 3 weeks later refitted bath is complete. Be warned this tape does not come off once stuck!.

I really love that you can get this product in such a long wide piece. It worked really well when I put a small piece toward the bottom of my pool. I did find out not to use any glue with it as it doesn’t stick as well when you do that.

So, use it alone. It doesn’t work as well above the water line, for some reason it seems to peel away over time. Might be the sun on it when it is on pool liner material? Not sure. I was disappointed when I could not find it in white like I had before but used the gray and that was okay.

This last time there was a piece about 6″ long where it did not have the backing to peel off. Therefore, that piece was no good. Other than that, I really like the flex seal, it works very well.

I bought this several months ago to patch some holes in the roof of my car (well, the white, not the clear, but same stuff and I can’t find the white to review). It’s a former cop car and they’d drilled holes for various equipment.

The holes had special plugs in them, but one fell out. This stuff has handled -40C like a champ and saved me from having to go to a bodyshop for actual patches. Stopped the cracks in my fender (that’s what you get when you buy used cars with new bumper stickers) from spreading.

Seriously considering covering all the other plugs once the weather gets nicer in case they fall out too. I love this stuff. Thank you!.

I am sure this might be good for drain areas, but not for any pressurized pipes. I bought this to fix a leak in the house waterline in the basement. It had somehow developed a small hole, thought this tape might fix it.

I shut off the water supply and sealed it, and once the water was open, its was ok to withstand the pressure for sometime then is starts leaking again. I tried a second time, having remove and sand that whole area to ensure there was no residue, thinking i didnt do it correctly the first time, and made sure i removed all the air bubbles and pressed it down, still no luck.

Eventually had to cut the pipe and join it with a sharkbite.

I am happy with the Flex Tape I tried. I was not quite sure what to expect-is it just a version of black/silver tape, or something truly different? Here is what I discovered: Flex Tape is super sticky.

One side is flat and smooth and the back has a layer of sticky on it-its hard to explain but its almost like a slimy, very sticky, thick glue. You need super strong scissors to cut the tape. It does not tear easily so definitely have scissors on hand (the good old rule of “rip by my teeth” of traditional duct tape will not be sufficient for Flex Tape).

The tape is easy to pull apart from itself/packaging. Most important: how does it work? I used this tape on a dry hose that was starting to rip/bulge. It was easy to apply and so far no water is leaking out.

Success! Supposedly this tape’s adherence abilities grow stronger over time. I cannot comment on that as it has only been applied for a week or two. However, it appears to be holding up sufficiently.

I saw many comments in other reviews about how it did not work underwater (although it is supposed to). I decided to test it out even though I did not currently have a need for it. I used the tape underwater on a dish rack we have in our kitchen.

I wanted to see if it still stuck and would adhere. It did. I left it underwater and so far it has been fine, remained stuck and it seems like it will work underwater. That being said, I have not tested this to prevent leaks or hold up over an extended period of time underwater.

But I was able to use the tape underwater and it appeared to me to hold up well. I feel this is a great tape to have on hand. It is different than other tapes I have tried It is significantly stickier and does adhere well when applied I think this tape has multiple uses and would be good to have on hand for do it yourself projects.

The concept of a this kind of tape is not new but as I have experienced in past, many of the brands would not work when the surface area is wet or is in constant touch with water. Normally, as seen in my experience over the years, most of these tapes works very good on a dry surface.

So, i started using this tape to see how it’s going to work on my daughter’s inflatable pool as it had developed a small hole which results in water draining out. The product comes in 4 inches wide and which was good for me to repair the pool leak.

The application was easy and I followed the simple instructions on the box. I did it on the pool which is almost 80% inflated so as to give something firm to the tape to latch upon. The tape worked like a charm and after couple of hours also, I don’t see the air pressure coming down.

So it has worked till now. The product claims that it works fine for things kept under the sun and I am looking forward to it. For now, I liked the product as it worked for me and my kiddo is happy :).

I wish I had known about this product sooner! We used it to patch over a couple of cracks we had in our white vinyl fencing and siding from a string trimmer, and you can barely spot the areas. They are firmly reinforced and the tape shows no signs of budging, peeling, or discoloration despite some pretty intense storms and very high heat that we have had over the past few weeks.

We also used it to cover a wider crack in the fence that our cat kept creeping out and you can’t even tell that it’s there, except for some slight yellowing on the fence itself. The width of the product was definitely a game changer in terms of other products on the market that we had considered.

It was very easy to unwrap and cut to size, but not folding over itself or getting tangled up at longer lengths because it is so hefty. I am incredibly pleased with this product and can’t recommend it highly enough.

This is great stuff. I have been wanting to try these, because I like the other products from this brand. Lo and behold, after I got this, I immediately had multiple things to try out. First, we got our tent out of storage and put it up, and surprise! A hole in the side, just enough for bugs to get in.

Voila, one of these patched on and it sealed it up. We ended up camping in the rain one night, and it didn’t leak or anything. Very happy with it. We also tried it on one of our pool floats, which had sprung a leak and was no longer holding air.

We put one of these one and it’s having no issues at all holding air and staying afloat. Yay! These are super handy to keep around.

I bought an Easy Set above ground pool and it came with a leak in the seam at the base. We didn’t know this until it was already filled with 500+ gallons of water. I didn’t want to drain/waste that much water so I tried these patches.

I dried the outside of the pool where the slow leak was and applied one patch. I was excited that it saw could be used underwater and also applied one patch on the inside at the seam. The next morning, the patch on the inside was floating in the pool.

The outside one is only about 2/3 attached. So it has SLOWED the leak, but it’s not stopped. I made sure that I attached it completely too. Pretty bummed.

Buried some electrical wires under the ground. Accidentally when digging into the ground I nicked one of the wire’s rubber coating. Used the flex tape and it worked perfectly. It has been one week since I used the tape and it has rained a great deal.

Wires are still working perfectly. The product was very easy to use. If I didn’t have this product I would’ve had to dig up all that wire and put new wires down. HUGE TIME SAVER, PROBLEM SOLVER AND MONEY SAVER! Great product to always have on hand as you never know when you will need it!.

I have been searching for a do-it-yourself repair solution for our large hard plastic pond liner with a long crack, as you can see in the photos, one that was environmentally friendly so that I could continue to use it as a garden pond.

Flex Tape is the perfect choice. After washing the liner and letting it dry completely, I cut a long strip of the 4 inch wide Flex Tape, rounded the corners of the strip with kitchen shears, and carefully peeled off the protective backing.

I was surprised at how thick yet flexible the Flex Tape is. I was able to carefully place one long edge on the outside of the liner and then slowly work the tape into and onto the plastic molded-bubble bottom outside the crack and then slowly ease and smooth it across the crack and up the side of the liner.

A second strip was laid down on top of the first strip, starting a little further in toward the side, and it too was easy to place precisely where I wanted it. I placed a spare paving stone on top of the crack inside the liner to weigh it down, bringing the two sides of the crack in contact with each other and with the Flex Tape.

When using this Flex Tape, be sure you start it carefully right where you want it, making sure there are no wrinkles or bubbles as you continue to lay it down and smooth it in place as it seals tightly as soon as it is down, and you cannot lift it again to reposition it.

The next day I cut another strip of the Flex Tape, rounded the corners, and sealed the crack again from the inside of the liner. The final step was to add water and let the liner sit overnight on the back deck.

There was no leakage at all. From personal experience, I highly recommend Flex Tape as a truly versatile product whenever you need a watertight seal.

I was eager to receive this product because I have various areas outside/inside the home I want to seal. I’ve never used a product l like this so I decided to use it as a test. The spray can application at first seemed like a better idea, but after seeing it in action, I was disappointed.

The spray zone was wider than I anticipated which lead to an overspray onto areas I didn’t want covered. The consistency was about what I imagined because it’s basically liquid rubber that ends up a chunky spray that kind of smooths after drying.

The color was exactly as described and the product does seal and prevent water from penetrating after fully drying. I believe it took longer to dry because it’s winter weather right now. I feel applying this product during a better season would have better results overall.

The worst thing about this product is the odor. I read the instructions and paid attention to where I was spraying making sure to have good ventilation, but even though I used it outdoors, I could still smell it coming into the home.

It’s has a very strong odor and doesn’t fade as quick as I would have l liked. It almost reminded me of the smell of gasoline. The clean up was more difficult than I had hoped. I tried scrubbing it off areas of my hands that got covered from scrubbing the areas of the house that the overspray came into contact with.

I had to use a heavy duty hand scrub just to remove to small spots on my hand and still have find something to remove it from the areas of my home I didn’t want sprayed. Overall it’s a good product that does what it is supposed to do, but there are certainly drawbacks and a bit of a learning curve.

Better weather and more personal trial and error could have made this experience excellent.

I got an opportunity to try the FLEXTAPE Clear, Large 4” X 5’ and have to say that it is an ok product. The Flex Tape is described as being a super strong, rubberized, waterproof tape that can patch, bond seal and repairs virtually everything.

It is specially formulated with a thick flexible, rubberized backing that conforms to any shape or object. This is great but it makes it kind of hard to take off roll and cut it is very sticky. I used it in my bathroom and had a very hard time cutting and getting it off because if you are not careful it will stick to itself.

Other than that this is a great tape versus other tapes and it comes in a variety of colors such as clear which is what I got and it also comes in white and black. I do wish that it was a little more on the roll but it did get the job completed that I needed it for.

This tape would surely be good for window time if you wanted to put around your window or doors if you have any kind of air coming in which this would help keep heat in and air out. This tape says it can be applied hot, cold, wet or dry even underwater but not too sure about that.

It is suppose to instantly seal out water, air and moisture to create a super strong flexible, watertight barrier. FLEX Tape is UV resistant, environmentally friendly, VOC- free and has a wide range of temperatures so it can be used in extreme weather conditions.

I must say it does bond like glue and if it happens to gain strength overtime it would be perfect. The only con like I stated is that it is not enough on roll. I suggest using a very sharp pair of scissors or box cutter to cut product but this makes sense because it is very strong.

I recommend giving this tape a try and see if you like it and it has a variety of uses but it is very very sticky. Absolutely I say gives this tape a try.

Flex tape seems to hold up well when not under too much pressure. I tried fixing a hole in my hose, followed the instructions, and let it cure overnight. It still leaked after a few minutes of the hose being turned on.

I didn’t give up though, and decided to try it on a PVC pipe under my kitchen sink. My house is older and the plumbing has become sort of a mixed bag. There seems to be on area under the kitchen sink where the pipes just don’t want to join together as they should.

I finally gave up and just put a bucket under there that I empty periodically to catch the small amount of water that leaks through. For that application, flex tape worked like a champ and stopped me from having to worry about this continual leak under my sink.

I have been checking the bucket and it is dry as a bone. So, I think there are definitely applications that flex tape works well, as long as there isn’t a huge amount of pressure. I also had a loose piece on my car bumper and wheel well that I had secured with a screw, but was still worried it would come loose.

I was able to use the black flex tape to help secure the wheel well cover to the inner bumper without it being noticeable. I like the security of knowing it’s there, keeping the wheel well cover in place and preventing anything from entering that area.

Overall, I would recommend flex tape, as long as you have reasonable expectations. It is very, very sticky, so I wouldn’t peel the backing off completely. I would peel it off a little at a time as you stick it to whatever surface you are sticking it to to prevent it from sticking to itself and essentially wasting it.

It is a decent product that works well for the correct applications.

The product is advertised as rubberized and flexible. It is not. It does not stretch in any direction. I purchased it to repair the heel of a pair of LL bean men’s rubber boots. I am not talking about the sole or the leather upper, the rubber back of the boot between the sole and the leather upper.

The adhesive is very sticky and stuck well. Unfortunately, the thick plastic outer layer did not. It separated from the adhesive after a couple of days leaving only the adhesive on the boot. I have left it in place to see what a few more days bring, but I do not have much hope of it working out.

Meanwhile, I bought a roll of the 4″ wide black and a roll of the 4″ wide clear that I will not trust to do a sealing job in the future on anything. I have included two pictures to illustrate the issue.

In picture 2 you can see the entire heel of the boot. Note how some areas are clear where the tape is still attached and the whitened opaque areas where the plastic outer layer has separated from the adhesive.

The adhesive is still attached to the boot as you can see in picture 1. The area that is darker in color is the adhesive still attached to the boot. The white opaque areas are where the plastic outer layer has separated from the adhesive.

I couldn’t give it a zero star rating, but itdeserves it. What a waste.

I used this for the plastic flap connected to one of the bulk meat drawers down the bottom of my freezer. Something dropped and completely cracked it. Probably about a 15cm long crack. I put this tape on both sides of the crack.

In the chilled damp environment of a freezer for well over a year it’s still holding completely tight and strong. Like I can grab the part right where it’s cracked and use moderate man force to try and bend it and the tape holds completely and it’s as strong as if it was never cracked in the first place.

Strike that, it’s now stronger than it was before. The tape is also near invisible as the plastic is also completely clear.

Adhesive is really good. I purposefully bought this because my home has a catflap from the outside wall into my kitchen. Until I get a professional to brick it up I have placed bubblewrap on the external wall over the catflap and secured it with clear Gorilla tape to keep the winter cold out.

It works a dream, no more draughts. The tape has stuck to the brickwork well and not come away in the rain and winds. It is certainly good as an interim measure. I have not tried the tape on other surfaces yet.

Gorilla Glue Tape Is great. When our almost two foot in diameter domed ceiling light fell and hung only by the electrical connection, this great tape held it to the ceiling until our electrician could arrive.

It only took the paint off partially in one tape section, but we will worry about re-painting later. Damage would have been far more catastrophic, dangerous, and costly without Gorilla Glue Tape. We have used this great tape for years for many other things, but usually for normal things like packaging and minor repairs.
