14 Best Water Wave Hair (2022 Updated)

[For reference I have straight hair with medium thickness/no color treatment etc] I really enjoyed the tropical banana scent, however it fades away after washing. The main thing that I noticed when using the shampoo, was that my hair texture got dry which worried me for damage.

Yet, the day after, my hair was between normal to oily with a soft texture. No effect on dry scalp. The only visible result was extra volume but not wavy hair. I’m guessing that probably by buying the rest of the collection I will get the wavy hair results, because for me, the shampoo itself wasn’t enough.

Overall, I’d say it depends on the person’s hair type.

I like the Pacifica Salty Waves Shampoo because it has both Sodium C-14-16 Olefin Sulfonate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine. Both of these surfactants are more gentle than a sulfate, but are great at removing build-up, and, while working together, can even remove the occasional silicone.

If you’re super built up, you’ll need Sodium Laureth Sulfate, but it works great if you use products with silicones once in a while. I also like that it has a big protein and a few protein mimickers.

My hair really likes protein. The only thing I don’t 100% care for is the banana scent. I still gave it 5 stars because that’s just a personal preference thing. I do prefer the smell of the Pineapple Curls, and will use both interchangeably.

The Pineapple curls still contains Cocamidopropyl Betaine, and several oils, extracts, and proteins. Both have a good lather, which is important to me.

I have curly, thick, long hair that is prone to frizz. This shampoo works very well for my hair type! It lathers well, although I do feel like I need to use a lot of it in order to fully wash my hair.

After washing it feels clean and soft. My only qualms are with the need to use a lot, as I stated before, and their use of “natural fragrance. ” There’s no indication as to what ingredients are included.

I do appreciate that the smell (bananas) fades quickly, versus some shampoos with regular fragrance ingredients that can linger for hours after washing. That to me indicates that they may not be using some of the harmful ingredients that typically go under the “fragrance” umbrella.

I just wish there was more transparency, for those that are sensitive to certain fragrance ingredients or who are trying to avoid certain ingredients for health reasons. Other than that, this is a wonderful shampoo! I would buy this shampoo again.

I think I had slightly higher hopes for this because of the reviews. I’m a blonde with fine hair (but lots of it). I’ve used the Bumble and Bumble Heat Protectant spray for years, which I love it – but it’s full of so many nasty chemicals and toxins.

I’m still getting used to this Hair Love Prep Spray, but I don’t really love the effect it has. If you use too much, it doesn’t kind of make your hair crunchy or even a little oily, so you have to use the spray sparingly.

But I find it doesn’t exactly smooth my hair after blowdrying – I still have frizziness and flyaways. I’ll persist, to see if my hair ‘gets used to it’ but I feel like it’s a bit of a waste. The bottle is big, though – so good value if you love the product!.

My hair is naturally wavy and curly, and I straighten it only occasionally. I have tried this product on clean wet hair, clean dry hair, next-day curly hair (both wet and dry), and next-day after straightening.

I have tried different amounts of product, scrunching, diffusing, used the product by itself, and tried mixing with other products (from the same company and other brands). Every single time, it has made my hair a sticky mess.

I guess that’s a kind of texture? 🤷‍♀️ It also makes my hair feel snarled, or like I “ratted” it. Today I tried just a light mist after using other curl styling products, to see if it would at least help hold down some flyaways, but as my hair dried (air/naturally) it just became frizzier, and the curl actually seems less defined overall.

I’ve been looking for a texturizing spray for a long time to replace one that was discontinued a few years ago. I was excited to try this one based on reviews and the clean ingredients, but was sorely disappointed with its performance.

2 stars because it smells good, and I appreciate the clean ingredients.

I used to buy a heat protection spray from a salon brand. I would spray on dry hair before curling and as a finishing spray and it held style and added body. but full of mystery chemicals. This product has similar result similar but use is different.

I spray it on wet hair, or if I forget I can apply it to dry hair, let it dry a few moments then curl/style. However it cannot work as a finishing spray as it puts alot of moisture into hair. I have very fine limp hair and this does a really nice job of giving it some body and hold without weight.

I like it alot but the price is a bit steep. If it could get down to $20 a bottle I would for sure buy again and again. At $30 a bottle. I will have to see how long this bottle lasts, maybe it will last a long time and is therefore a better value then I realize.

I bought this to make butterfly locs. For 37 braids I used 4 1/2 packs on my daughter. It was our first time trying this. It went fairly well. The hair tangles easily, so take care when separating it to wrap around the braid.

If separated too much it can wrap in messy way that looks like a dull clump instead of the glossy waves it arrives as. Also, it’s been suggested that after wrapping tightly at the root, not to wrap so tightly as you go down, but I’ve noticed that the braid started slipping out of the loc after 2 weeks in the loose sections.

Maybe I need to add more hair or wrap tighter. For the most part I like it, but I don’t think it’ll last more than another week. Some pieces have become too frizzy to rewrap. I’ll either add hair to the loose sections or buy a 4-pack and start completely over.

I love this hair. i don’t use it for what it’s originally for. i use this for my faux locs. ! It’s long lasting and easy to use. ! It’s affordable. soft and it is multi purpose hair you can use it for anything literally.

This hair was received exactly as advertised. It is silky, manageable and very affordable compared to other sites I have seen this selling on. The length is great and gives passion twists the definition they need.

The only con would be the amount of hair received per pack. You only get 1 bundle per pack and that is just how it is sold globally. Any site you order from will only offer 1 bundle per pack but Hair to Beauty has the best price.

This is my first time purchasing this hair. I can say the company is timely, professional, and very helpful when it came to the ordering process. They checked on my orders and even recommended more products that would help with my styling.

I loved the customer service inside of the store as well! The staff was knowledgeable about products. The actual products itself was beautiful however I noticed the hair had a lot of spit ends. I ordered 2 18in bundles and one 20in.

By the time I finished cutting the split ends I might as well got the 18in not the 20in. This is frustrating because I paid extra for the length just to get 2-3in cut off. The hair does not hold a curl as well as I would like but it is very soft and the weft is thick.

I created some locs with this hair. I love the variety of colors and texture from this brand. My only dislike is how heavy it can become if you’re not careful. This was my first time doing #butterflylocs on myself/in general lol So yes the heaviness might’ve been my fault lol.

I purchased this hair after I saw a youtuber use it to do passion twists. The style came out PERFECTLY! The hair is so soft and it doesn’t tangle. it’s also very light weight and doesn’t make my head itch like most synthetic hair does.

Some of the packages of hair were warped and the hair was frizzy. Not sure if it was from the conditions they were kept in but I believe they should have been inspected before shipped.

Big hair don’t care! If you want big hair curly afro style this is it. especially if you separate each piece and make it longer. The curls will move to a afro curly look natural hair. Love this hair and pineapple it at night with a satin hair tie to go around.

it can last a month at least. shake and finger it out. I use real curly spray for shine and conditioning.

I have bought this hair 3 times now from this website, and the third time, the amount of hair that came in each pack was dramatically smaller than previous times. I hope this was a one time error, so that this website does not loose my trust and loyalty.

I have waist-length, untreated 2A/2B hair and have always loved Kenra styling products. I was excited to try Sugar Beach shampoo and conditioner for a little volume/texture boost. However, after 3 months of use, my hair is frizzy, dry, and damaged with no enhanced texture or lifted roots to show for it.

I’ve continued to use the Verb hydrating mask once a week, Olaplex No3 once a week, a clarifying shampoo once a month, and protective, moisturizing styling products as usual while using these products.

I had better results with Biolage Volumebloom and even some drug store texturizing/volumizing options like Not Your Mothers. I give this product two stars because it didn’t irritate my scalp, cause hairfall, or leave much buildup.

However, I do not recommend this conditioner or it’s corresponding shampoo if you’re looking for frizz-free texture.

This product is absolutely AMAZING! My hair was extremely stringy, heavy, greasy yet dry and soooo tangled all of the time after moving to Arizona and having extremely hard water. It was absolutely disgusting and I just felt gross all of the time! I have tried so many different things and finally came across clarifying shampoos.

I have been using Kenra products for a while now and decided to try their clarifying shampoo. I noticed a HUGE difference after just one wash! My hair was so bad it took about three washes for the buildup to come completely out.

This shampoo is lightweight and was easy to work through my hair. I started by running the shampoo from my roots and working it throughout to the ends. It has a nice rich lather that made my scalp and hair feel clean.

After rinsing the shampoo out of my hair it felt soft, smooth and nourished. This shampoo also provided some volume and moisture for my hair. Lastly, I loved the beautiful clean scent that it left in my hair.

I am using this shampoo along with the Kenra Professional Color Maintenance Conditioner. They work amazing paired together.

I received a sample of this and wanted to like it. It detangles and softens hair nicely, but I found the perfume smell to be extremely overwhelming. even after rinsing, it was still unbearably strong.

it also made my sensitive skin itch around my neck.

I loved the creamy, Wella Nutricurls Mask after using Wella Nutricurls Micellar Shampoo For Curls. The mask is easy to use and has a pleasant scent. Great on damaged hair, dry hair, curly hair, chemically treated hair, natural hair, and left my hair shiny and hydrated.

Works well before hot tools and also before wet, style and go looks. My only complaint would be the packaging. I wish the lid was a little bit more convenient to use as it feels unsanitary dipping my hands in it to use it, albeit it’s at least in the shower.

Overall, I enjoyed the Wella Nutricurls Mask in place of conditioning or leave in treatments.

I’m an Ouidad fan after the whole fiasco with DevaCurl and I’d spent a while trying to find a reasonably priced mask or conditioner to detangle my curls and now that I’ve found this, I’m never going back to an expensive conditioner.

I don’t even need the brush, my fingers run through my hair after I apply this. You literally don’t need much and I have A LOT of hair! Last time I bought two jars because I never want to run out! My hair smells amazing and I also leave it in like a leave-in.

I wash my hair every 4 days now in the summer and sweat and heat.
