Good Stuff – Buy Another Pair I have been on a hunt all my life for leather shoes that breathe and last for years. These are great! I walk my dogs several miles per event and several times per week. I have asked many of those a decade or more older than me.

Great shoe! LOVE that it “straddles the fence” between casual-dressy but with the mesh materials on the sides that allow it to go from there to lakeside or “on-deck” with drainage potential. like the most elegant “water-shoe” you’ve ever seen.

I specifically bought them for a trip to Italy and Croatia, where I’ll need them for wedding festivities, but then also be ble to use them for trips on, in, or near the water!.

I bought this exact style of shoes four years ago prior to going on a cruise. I wore them 90% during the 17 days – including while walking all around Europe. I have worn them countless times since. I decided to buy a new pair – but not because the first pair had worn out.

In fact, they still look great. But I wanted another color. These are just as great. They are stylish, comfortable, have great traction, and fit perfectly. They are very true to what your normal size is.

I have a lot of shoes, but most just sit on a shoe rack – because these are the ones I prefer.

Love this shoe. Super comfortable. I’m not convinced the PFG/Blood and Guts technology is much more than marketing. They’re not particularly good at repelling water or fending off stains. Some of the comfort comes from being flimsy so expect to burn through a pair or two a year.

I like the wide version and wish it was available in all the same colors as the standard width. To tell the truth their standard should be called narrow and the wide should be standard. Try to swoop in and score a couple of pairs at the best sale price you can ($42?) and hope they don’t change it too much (unless for the better) by the next year.

Columbia is bad about shifting manufacturing and significantly changing what anybody would have thought was the same thing they got last time. They should bring manufacturing back to the US and pay more attention to it.

To say that I have ordered many water shoes is an understatement. Every year for spring break, I think this is the year I get a pair I don’t mind wearing – that work and look somewhat cute too. I just received these today (I ordered the men’s gray and orange even though I’m a girl because the colors are more neutral) and now my work is done! These look like Keds/Vans met a water shoe.

I ordered a men’s 9 and I am a women’s 10. Technically, a size 8. 5 is what translates to a women’s 10 so I’d say these run just a tiny bit small to fit a little loose. If I wanted these super tight, I would have ordered a half size down but I wanted them comfy enough to walk in as well.

I ordered from a different website but love them so much I thought I’d share my thoughts. So yeah, buy them.

I love the sure-footed rubber sole; the look and construction of the uppers; the elastic no-tie, adjustable laces; and the fact that I could easily slip off and use pull loop on heel to put back on, or wear as slip-ons, without harming the heel of the shoe.

Length and width were generous. However, I reluctantly and sadly returned them because I need built-in arch support and a bit more cushion in the sole.

I love on a river. I need something just like this, I sure hope they can hold up. Cuz they just look so cute! I tried finding slippery surfaces to test and wow these things do there job. I feel very confident exploring all kinds of surfaces and am going places I couldn’t before because I couldn’t get a sure footing.

Not a problem now. Life changed! Lol.

Buying shoes online is terrifying. Rather than thinking about wearing your new shoes, you’re thinking about how hard and how long it would take to exchange them. In this case, I was ecstatic. Boat shoes have always fit me “pretty good,” which the latest being my Billfish.

I ordered these on a Wednesday and had them Saturday. When they arrived, I gazed at them like Ralphie within his rifle, on A Christmas Story. When I put them on, honestly they fit like I’m not wearing shoes.

Nice arch, and roomy toe. No “pinch points” or weird rubbing anywhere. I wore them out to do grocery shopping, just get a good feel, before I’d wear them to work. Seriously, I kept realizing I was wearing different shoes.

I love them. If you’re used to wearing steel toes, then you won’t notice the very subtle weight that’s inherent to safety shoes. They also look good enough for casual wear. I hope this review helps someone else.

I will be returning them. My dad had a pair without steel toes that lasted forever. I was buying these to replace the old pair but they were too heavy. So I will return them. I bought a similar pair from dsw by floresheim that he is keeping.

I bought this for my husband, and he loved the look, feel and construction of this shoe. The only issue (and I hadn’t thought of this) is the steel toe. He travels a lot and works outages at plants where he has to enter through a metal detector, and to have to take the shoes off every time he enters would be time consuming.

So unfortunately we had to return them. Had this not been an issue, he definitely would have kept this pair.

I’ve had at least 4 pair of these shoes over the last decade or so. They used to be super comfortable, loved the insoles, they’ve always looked great, and I knew what to expect from them. The quality of the insole went down years ago.

But now the contouring of the outsole has also taken a hit. Instead of flaring the top edge of the outsole to contour to the arch and basic shape of the footbed, it’s now just formed vertical which ends up digging into the arches of my feet and making the arch portion of the shoe too narrow.

I’m now sending back my second new pair of these shoes because the outsole edges dig into my arches through the side of the shoe. Also, both pair I received had insole issues under the heel of one foot (right foot on first pair, left foot on second pair).

So now that I’ve established that the width issue wasn’t just a fluke bad pair, I have to say goodbye to the Billfish. (No use getting a wider shoe, the toe box is fine and the vamp fits just right. ) It was a good run while it lasted.

I hate to see Sperry’s manufacturing standards take such a nose dive. I’ve never put on a pair of shoes with such an awkward fit.

I wear a size 11 1/2 EE (wide width). These shoes were short and narrow. I am an amputee, so my existing foot has been precisely measured by a professional prosthetist. My prosthetic foot was order and matched to my human foot.

These shoes were clearly a size too small and not wide width. Bass Pro and Cabela’s are not very friendly to those of us with wide width feet. The sales associates keep telling me to just try a bigger size instead of a wide width.

That would put me in a LONGER SHOE than I need. That would greatly increase my chances of tripping with my prosthetic foot.

I have proudly worn Sperry Top-Sider Billfish shoes for the last twenty years. On average, each pair easily lasted 5-10 years. I only replaced them when I wanted a new look. Their comfort and versatility were unbeatable; indeed, they were the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever owned.

I defaulted to them. Around 2017, however, I noticed that production had shifted overseas. This is not inherently bad, but (as others have mentioned), the shoe took on a different look. The insoles changed.

The toe box became more pointed. The stitching and overall build quality looked cheaper. After owning a new pair for less than a year, the mesh material in the arch separated from the sole—it literally began to rip out.

This NEVER happened in the several pairs I owned from ca. 2000 forward. To their credit, Sperry promptly replaced this pair due to defective quality. Sadly, this has now happened again. Not only are the shoes SIGNIFICANTLY less comfortable than they used to be; my pair from 2018 has now also began to rip in the right arch.

I’m very disappointed. In a world where cheap and quick are buzzwords of global commerce, I had hoped that Sperry would stay true to its roots. Sadly, quality has sailed on the Billfish.

Love the laid back look, super easy to slip on/off, very true to size. Plenty of cushion too. The leather is solid. Kind of a minimalist vibe to them. You can wear them in any casual setting e. g. shorts, long pants, beach day, whatever.

Too bad they are limited to brown and black!.

My husband normally wears a 10.5 and ordered an 11 and they’re real tight. He can wear them with thin socks but they seem to run a little small. Otherwise very happy, and versatile shoe.

I bought these a few weeks ago and shoe came as pictured. Comfortable and easy to slip on to wear. Casual but not a sneaker type shoe. Goes with many things, can dress up or down.

I bought this shoe because I wanted a comfortable, easy slip-on, breathable shoe that I can wear for boating. Grundens checked 3 out of 3 boxes! The shoe fits like a glove and the sole is super grippy and stable.

I’m going to order a second pair to wear as my everyday summer shoe. Most shoes with ventilated mesh are unstable and I worry about twisting an ankle. Grundens nailed the SeaKnit – it has just the right amount of lateral support balanced with comfort and breathability.

I love how easy these shoes are to slip on and off!.

Incredibly comfortable and grippy shoe. Grundens nailed it. In the past wearing Columbia or Olukai my back and knees would throb by the end of the day. I can stand on deck all day and my knees and hips feel great at the end of the day.

These would be 6 stars if they guaranteed me to catch more fish but that’s my problem!.

Hot diggity dog these things are comfortable. They have been great to fish in on a boat but also perfect for going out to dinner! Very universal shoe that you wont be disappointed in. in fact you wont want to take them off! My only gripe is that there are only 2 colors – I would be them all if I could!.

I bought these for my husband to wear at the beach. They are veery nice looking shoes. He said they were comfortable. However, he had worn them only three times and the inside lining on the left shoe at the big toe came apart from the seam.

He wore them without socks/footies and had no idea what was irritating his toe until he took the shoe off and found that the lining was what was rubbing his toe. Except for this issue, he had no other complaints.

But I will be returning the shoes.

My husband has been wearing a size 15 in all of his shoes for most of his life. He purchased the Dockers Beacon Boat Shoe in size 15 and they were were so small that they caused blisters that bled on his feet.

Unfortunately, he thought he needed to just “break them in”. Now he can’t return them or wear them. The point of this review is to warn you to buy a size larger than you normally would in this shoe. They were good-looking, well-made shoes otherwise.

Fit is fine, perhaps even a bit long. Comfy cushioning to each step. But the laces. If you want an extra 12” of lace on each shoe, these are for you. I shouldn’t have to double knot them to keep off the ground.

Shoe is nice design. Terrible execution on the laces.

This is a great and versatile shoe. I sail a bit and this shoe is perfect for both boating and land-based activities. I also took it to the gym with me and it worked fine there. The shoe looks great and it’s super light and comfortable.

I like it so much, I plan to get one more pair in a different color soon. Please note that they run a bit smaller. I normally wear men’s 9. 5 and have another Sperry shoe that is 9. 5. However, this one runs smaller to I had to get a 10.

I have had a pair of Sperry shoes for several years. I needed another color, so purchased this option since it replaced what I currently have. The first pair were not comfortable. They were too tight and the innersole was harder than my current Sperry pair.

I exchanged for a larger size, but it isn’t much better. I am thinking about returning them for a refund.

Super comfy, bought to take on a trip – wore everyday with no issues. They got slightly wet whilst walking in the rain but dried quickly. I took off one star only because they my socks got slightly wet when I walked through some wet grass.

In light of this, I would not recommend submerging them into water as they would not prevent your socks from getting wet.

They have arrived in perfect condition. Shoes of great quality and comfort. Very versatile to wear both with jeans, casual clothes, shorts …

I have known this product for a long time, it has not changed much. The quality is always there. Super shoe. only one small problem, the delivery, a little long and the box suffered, but the shoes were intact, fortunately.

I really expected garbage for under $30. I was quite happy to be proven wrong. They are very comfortable. They fit fine. I usually take between a 7 and a 7 1/2. These are a 7 1/2 and there is enough room for thick winter socks if necessary but they do not slip up and down with regular socks on.

I also like not having to deal with zippers or shoe strings. As for being waterproof, I cannot say. We have not had the weather to properly test them yet. At this point I would definitely recommend them.

Unbelievable comfort in a duck boot! I LOVE the soft lining and low heel. I’ve been having problems with my Achilles tendon and general movement with arch pain but find these to be incredibly comfortable while allowing me to wear cute fall styles with these and a pair of jeans.

These were just what I needed! These are terrific to wear on those days when it just rains all day. They keep my feet warm and dry. They are very nice while leaving the house on rainy or slushy days.

I like the fact that they slip on and off. They’re easy to put on and take off. If I need to wear something different when I get to my destination I don’t have to waste time with laces or buckles. Plus, they look good with jeans!.

I bought these deck shoes for fishing in the Florida Keys. I have the taller version also. My hopes were these short deck shoes would be cooler as the temps got up there. The good news is the solved that problem.

The bad news is that they are so uncomfortable because they have created a heel blister. The lower height creates bad friction on my heel. I tried socks but they get wet and then slip down and the problem of rubbing my heel continues.

I’ve put bandages and even wrapped duck tape around the area but with the wet condition , the tape , etc. , falls off. Therefore, I’m not wearing these short boots anymore.

I got these to replace another brand of rubber garden shoe. These are so much better. They’re easy to put on, they fit comfortably, and they feel really well made. Day to day, I choose these over other shoes I own, wether I’m going into the garden, taking out the trash, going for a walk, or making a trip to the grocery store.

I have wide feet and these stretch to fit with no problem.

These shoes are super comfortable and are perfect for me for my Alaskan summertime activities. These shoes go from walking through the village to fishing on the boat. They are easy to get on and off yet stay on my feet without sliding around while I’m moving around a moving boat.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the stitching along the “cuff” has (after only a month of use) is coming undone. This is mostly cosmetic. Although, in the long-term this will likely effect how well the shoe stays on my foot, as that material is somewhat elastic.

I’m a great fan of Sebago waxy leather dockside shoes and have worn them for decades. They last for ever and their appearance improves as they develop a patina of age. These particular shoes initially seem a little on the tight side but the leather gives as the shoes are broken in.

(The pair I bought was US size 10. 5R whereas the Sebago shoes I have previously had were US size 10. 5W. Sebago is a US company, of course. ) In recent years Sebago’s quality control has not been all it should be.

In particular the sizes marked on the shoes (and on the box) do not always correspond to the actual shoe size. So it is best to buy in person rather than online. For example, I recently bought a pair of Sebago shoes online (not from John Lewis as JL didn’t stock them) where both of the shoes and the box were marked as US size 10.

5W/44. 5, but one shoe of the pair was 5mm shorter than the other (probably US size 10. 0W/44. 0) ! By the way, eventual resoling and repairs to the upper’s stitching and is best carried out by cobblers who specialise in Sebago shoes such as the Southampton Shoe Repair Centre (other cobblers are available).

Stitching repairs to the uppers should only be done by hand, never on a machine.

I have had several pairs of these shoes over the years and found them satisfactory. I first purchased them form John Lewis. My English size for them is 7. 5, American 8. Larger size is no good to me.

I am disappointed that John Lewis no longer supplies half sizes. This is a mistake which needs to be corrected.

A stylist and classic boat shoe 👞 Very pleased with my purchase although a rather tight fit to start albeit my usual size 10 they were tight across my foot. They did not take long to give as its such a supple leather, and they now fit me a treat.

I have been wearing Dunhams for over 10 years. Battery Park, Litchfield, Windward. all three were the most comfortable I have ever owned. Well constructed, durable, great fit. I am 6’4″ and 260 pounds.

The Dunhams gave me great support for over 3 years each.

The lower decorative threading (on the white rubber section) is loose in several areas. I know its just decorative threading but it’s very noticeable and this being my second pair of Dunham Windwards I simply expected more from Rockport/Dunham.

I purchased this product because it had a wide Width of 6E. However believe that is incorrect. I believe that the true size is a 4E wide. The shoe is beautiful and I love the look but I cannot wear them.

I have gone through many pairs of L. L. Bean’s 8″ Bean Boot over the years. I wear them just about every day. They keep my feet dry in early morning walks through wet grass; they’re my work boot of choice for gardening and yard work.

All in all they’re great boots, durable, functional, comfortable, and the waterproof versions are WATER PROOF. Period. The only drawback is the problematic sizing, which actually serves to shorten the lifespan of the boot.

I wear a size 7 in all types of footwear and can wear either a 6 or 7 in the Bean Boots since they run a bit big. However, if I get a 7, which is slightly loose (though great for heavy socks) the leather tends to eventually bunch up at the front.

This appears to be because the size 7 boot is slightly too long and so my foot and leg don’t fill up the space behind the front of the boot. When the boot bends as I walk this front area has nothing to support it within the boot and therefore bunches up.

The stitching pulls loose there every single time. If I get a 6 the fit is better (though a bit tight if I wear heavy socks) but it’s harder to pull on. I have to consistently grasp the loop at the back and pull them on.

This is fine except the stitching eventually gives way at the back. In both cases, once the stitching is loose it continues to loosen around the boot and I end up with boots where the top is barely hanging on.

I sent a pair back once to have them re-stitched but the new stitching soon came loose as well. I do love these boots but wish L. L. Bean would look into ways to correct this. It’s becoming harder to justify paying this much for boots that I know are going to come apart before they should.

I’ve been wearing these for about 3 years now and they’re great. I’m not talking about wearing them on the occasional hunting/ fishing trip, but pretty much every day in the fall, winter, spring, and sometimes in the summer.

When I got them they were a bit large (the ankles are fine but there’s over an inch of space in front of my toe). I don’t mind though, since they stay on my feet and I always wear these with 1-2 pairs of thick wool socks (usually the L.

L. Bean Ragg wool socks), which is most likely why they never chafe on me. I had read reviews about leakage so the first thing I did after putting them on was go out and walk around in a river. There was no leakage and it stayed that way for 2 of the 3 years (of regular use).

I treated them with mink oil (but not regularly enough). A few months ago they finally started leaking a bit, so I melted some beeswax into them with a paintbrush and hair dryer. They look great and no longer leak.

(If you do this, be especially thorough around the seams). My only real complaint is these can get pretty sweaty, so I don’t really wear them when it’s very warm out unless I’m going to be sloshing around somewhere.

This is to be expected though, so wearing 100% wool socks wicks most the moisture and keeps it from freezing your feet (sweaty synthetic smells worse and wet cotton feels terrible and can freeze/ cool you down more in cold temperatures).

Overall, great boots, definitely worth it.

I’m not a big shopper so I had been contemplating purchasing these boots for nearly a decade. This winter’s unusually wet and frigid temperatures combined with a farm full of animals to take care of and being fed up with ‘arctic lined’ muck boots that left me with frozen toes convinced me it was time to give them a try.

It was the best purchase I’ve made in years. No contest. These are comfortable, warm on their own, and downright toasty with the accompanying shearling footbed inserts (available separately). I haven’t slipped once yet, either.

Mud, snow, who-knows-what. they’ve handled it all just fine. Not only do they make great farm work boots for winter but after I’m done with work I just hose them off and they’re ready to go to town. I’ve worn them on two short one-day winter hikes through snowy, forested terrain with no issues as well.

They are about a half size big but good medium or thick wool socks take care of that (and I’m pretty sure I could do thin ones and those toe warmer packs if I wanted to). I did treat them generously with Bean’s Boot Guard (available separately) prior to wear and left them overnight next to the heater to speed the break-in process (which took about a week) and ensure the thick leather stays nice.

I have no doubt, with the high quality of materials and construction, that they’ll last for years. I don’t know why I waited so long. Well done, Mainers!.

I really wanted to love these boots. I wear a size 13 sneaker, so I ordered a size 12, and even with a heavy sock, it was still too big. I returned the 12 and ordered a size 11, which I probably haven’t worn since I was since I was in 8th grade.

That said, they fit pretty well, but unfortunately, the back of the boot keeps slipping off my ankle. It’s not terrible, but I imagine over time it might irritate my Achilles and eventually wear through my socks.

My wife has a pair and experienced the same issue. Again, I really wanted to love these because they are slip-on, which makes them perfect for taking the dog out in the rain or wet grass, but I don’t want to hold on to them knowing that they don’t fit perfectly.

I’m planning to return the moc and order the gumshoe instead. If the boot was maybe a half-inch taller in the back, I think that would resolve my issue.

Excellent build quality! Comfortable width and nice arch support – enough, but not too much. I did order down one size from what I normally wear and I got the medium width, even though I generally buy wide shoes.

Everything fit well, with one exception and that was a deal-killer. My heels slipped out of the Moc with every step. I tightened down the leather straps as much as possible and the Moc felt great… until I took my first step.

Then it was back to slipping off my heel again. This slipping was while wearing it in my house. I did not wear the Moc outdoors to the barn and in mud because I’m sure they would have come completely off my foot.

I’m disappointed because I really wanted these to work.

Two years ago I ordered a shoe described as the “two eye boat gum shoe” it was a low cut version of the classic LL Bean Duck Boot. I LOVED those shoes. Then my German Shorthair Pointer puppy ATE THEM.

Apparently they quit making the two eyed boat gumshoe because all I could find when I finally thought the dog had gotten old enough (two years) to replace my shoes, were the moccasins. Unlike the moccasin with the boat gum shoe the laces crossed for a very short run and tied in front like a tennis shoe.

I liked that. The moccasins don’t do this. They are almost identical else wise and ultimately this is seeming to work out to no consequence. I guess I just wanted replacement gum shoes.

I am very happy with the loafers I bought from you. We did actually order a pair from another company said they were made by you put the 43 was far too small and the 44 was too big and I think someone said they were made in Brazil.

About 4 years ago a noticed a nice looking shoe that a friend was wearing. I bought my first pair of this Yacht Loafer, donkey brown. Wore them every day so I soon bought another pair in Navy and then a third pair in brown.

I finally wore out a pair so just bought a replacement pair of this same shoe. Retired, 83 years old, walk an average of 7000 steps a day, every step in a Dubarry Yacht Shoe.

Super comfortable shoes for every use. After having worn out my old pair for many years, I was delighted to find out that the same model is still available. Buying new ones directly through Dubarry’s site on internet the new shoes felt exactly the same as my old ones! (In Belgian it seems hard to find Dubarry shops).
