20 Best Waterproof Camera Backpack (2022 Updated)

I was looking for something to carry an angled 85mm spotting scope. This works where tele lens and camera would go with lens in a pocket. Good bag, versatile pockets. Room for a few bits a pieces like phone and adapter.

The size is as described. Comes with a rain cover too. Covers seem flimsy but work well from bushwalking experience.

I was looking for a new camera backpack, my friend told me that she got one from WODECT and it’s good. So I bought this one and took it to hike. It turns out it’s definitely one of the best camera bag I’ve ever had.

It looks cute and durable, the most important thing is the bag is sooo convenient and safe. Highly recommended!.

This bag is great for nature hikes and for protection of my camera and gear. It’s sturdiness will entice you and its durability will as well. I’m not sure how warmth plays into the bag, but its great for hiking and anywhere you need to take your camera and have your hands free.

I love it!.

I’m not saying this isn’t a great bag, it’s well designed with high-end materials. When it really comes down to it though, when all the fast-talking in the video and the cool branding wears off, it’s just a Peak Design Travel Backpack knockoff for a lot more money.

Almost every feature is either the same as, or clearly based on, the PD bags that came before it, including the modular design it’s based on. The only difference is this one straight black, leathery looking, and a good $200 more with EVERY accessory sold separately.

And they are not cheap either. I just can’t see what this bag is offering that the just as good and cheaper predecessor doesn’t. Especially at a time when the whole camera industry is struggling, including Peak Design — to release a camera bag that is $500+ makes me think this is more of a branding gimmick than unique design.

There is a clear target market they are going after and I also think to sell the bag for $350 with absolutely nothing in it, but to market it as if it would be coming with the modular accessories it’s shown with is misleading and seems to be a clever to entrap quick-buyers into the system… If you’re someone with an unlimited budget and a propensity to go for things that are “hyped”, this bag is probably for you.

I’ve owned many camera bags over the years and it’s not even close. Fit and finish are top notch. Zipper smoothness, which is oddly important to me, is perfect. The customization options and overall storage pockets in the bag are well thought out.

I’m able to fit 3 bodies, 4, lenses, 2 batter grips, filters, chargers, and extra batteries all within the main compartment. Then I still have all the extra pockets and storage spots for chords and accessories.

Then I can throw both my 16” MacBook Pro and my 12. 9” iPad Pro in there as well. On top of all that, when I need to pack clothes into the bag I can easily get 3-5 days worth depending if it’s warm weather clothes or cold weather.

Is it extremely heavy with all that in there? Absofreakinglutely. But the ergonomics of the straps and back padding as well as the chest and waist straps help distribute the weight amongst my torso. Truly an incredibly well made product and I don’t see my self buying any other travel bags from any other brand unless it’s something animatic doesn’t make.

I really do highly recommend y’all put the money into these bags and stop wasting $250-$400 on a new bag from another company every 2-3 years. Can wait for my next McKinnon bag to come in.

This product is claimed to be 100% Waterproof. It definitely is not. It’s easy to see if a dry bag is waterproof. When you roll down and buckle the top, it traps a big bubble of air inside. If you squeeze the bag and no air leaks out, it’s highly likely that no water can get in either.

But if air leaks out, then water can get in. This bag releases air when I squeeze it, no matter how tightly I roll it down. The bag has a heavy nylon edge at the top, and the bag material is somewhat stiff, making it hard to roll tightly.

In addition, there is an inner liner of an open weave fabric that will be rolled in between the layers of the PVC-coated outer bag, making a path for air to escape or water to ingress. I tested it for waterproofness by putting some weights inside, rolled up in paper towels, and submerging the closed bag in the bathtub.

Air bubbles out around the handles at the top. Water got inside the bag after prolonged submersion. That said, I successfully used the bag on a 1 week canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Conservation Area in northern Minnesota.

Realizing the bag was not fully waterproof I did not leave it in the bottom of the canoe where it might be exposed to water, but either wore it or suspended it from the canoe thwart. After a full day of rain, the interior of the bag was damp, with a few drops of liquid water at the bottom.

I used the camera on a few occasions in the rain, so I attribute the moisture in the bag to inserting a rain dampened camera. My camera and lenses suffered no harm. On one occasion I slipped on a slimy rock and fell in the water, briefly submerging the bag.

No water entered during that mishap. My conclusion is that the bag does not meet its claim of being waterproof – it is at best water resistant. However, it is much more water resistant than any other camera bag I own, and is capable of protecting a camera from prolonged rain or brief immersion.

I used this camera bag with a Canon SL2 & a Tamron 18-400mm lens on a 11 day raft trip in ANWR. This configeration is 8 inches long and the end of the lens barrel is 2 7/8 inches in diameter. The camera body is 4 3/4 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches high.

Everything fit into the bag. The top opening was large enough to lift out the camera with one hand. However, closing the bag was tight. It took an extra effort to roll the top the 3 times, as instructed, but it could be done.

The interior mesh pocket was a royal pain. One of the first things I did upon returning from my trip was to remove it with sissors. The problem is that the mesh always caught on the lens when inserting the camera into the bag.

I did wear the bag with the strap across my chest the entire trip (along with 4-6 layers of clothing) and it was unobtrusive while paddling. I plan on using it again next month on the Missouri River in MT.

I would have liked some padding in the bag. The waterproof aspect was not really tested as I never dunked.

I used this bag with great success to protect my Nikon D7100/Nikkor 18-300 DX Zoom Lens combo while riding in and landing from a Zodiac in the Arctic Ocean around Spitsbergen. Most of the time my camera and bag were hanging from my neck by their straps with the camera suspended inside the unrolled bag.

Occasionally I stuffed the camera strap into the bag and rolled it up for extra protection when the spray conditions warranted. I never found moisture inside the bag. Others have reported leaks from their experiences; I plan to be extra vigilant and replace the bag (at a very modest price) if mine starts leaking.

I have noticed a lot of questions about dimensions and what camera/lens combinations will fit in this bag. My experience is entirely with Nikon gear but I will give dimensions so that others can measure their gear and decide for themselves.

B&H provides top & bottom dimensions under their SPECS tab. If you stuff the bag so that the bottom is fully extended to 4. 7×4. 7 and the top is fully extended to 6. 7×4. 7 and roll the bag down as described to make it maximally waterproof, then I believe the interior height will be very close to 8.

7. You can get more camera into that bag under various conditions and that is why there is some disparity among the reviews about what fits and what doesn’t. For example, my lens is 3. 3 in diameter; when it is centered in the padded bottom of this bag, I get about another 0.

5 of height fronm the excess bottom dimension. My camera body is 5. 3×4. 2 as compared to the bag top dimensions of 6. 7×4. 7; I get some more height slack from that excess dimension. So when I put my combo (with a height of 7) in this bag I have about 4 of extra height totally rolled down.

If I use my 80-400 zoom lens (3. 8Dx8L), it fills up more of the bottom dimension and most of the height dimension leaving a lot less slack. Totally unrolled this bag measures about 15 from flat bottom to the top edge.

What you can stuff in this bag depends upon your combo dimensions as compared to the bag dimensions AND how you plan to use the bag (ie, rolled or unrolled). Hope this helps. Other reviewers have cited the good qualities and limitations, so I will stop this discourse HERE.

It is very well padded unlike those cheap knock off ones that come multi colored. The zippers are well made but zip n unzip smooth. The room is fantastic. The mini bag makes it easy so you don’t have to lug everything with you.

It has straps to go around your waist that aleviate all the weight on your shoulders literally. It has straps with clips to hang your camera in front of you while the backpack is on. It is much better than i could hope for seriously! The only concern is the weight.

Its carries a bit of weight alone/empty and my tripod is heavy then the camera and lenses. Thats my only concern so ill be looking for some carrying caddy as well probably because im pretty petite. But i love it so ill make it work.

Well designed, can handle almost all gear one could need. Sturdy case, but internal pieces lack a better finish and quality of materials used not great, specially the padded pieces.

This bag is a beast, lots of storage but snug, not many little compartments but I figured a way to get around that, the little pouch at the bottom I use with one lens and camera as a easy carry works great, absolutely love the size and build of this bag.

It’s a great EVERYDAY (commuting etc) backpack for someone who wants to carry a laptop, a tablet, some electronics and a camera or drone or some such. Looks good. It’s more comfortable than some reviewers make it out to be.

It’s not really designed to carry a heavy load. If you want to carry a heavy load or go hiking, get something else. It can also be a great pure camera backpack for someone who wants instant immediate access to their camera spontaneously without putting the backpack down and carries non camera gear as well.

If you are OK carrying only one of a laptop or tablet at a time, the Think Tank Urban Access 15 is strictly better. You get the same quality side access and full back access. You get better protection for your gear and a pocket in front for papers or a book.

It’s more comfortable (load lifters anyone), and cheaper. If they changed the laptop carry to comfortable carry a 16inch MacBook Pro and a 12. 9 inch iPad Pro, it would be an insta-buy for me. If you don’t need quick on the back side access to everything in your bag, consider the LowerPro BP 450 AWii.

You get side access to half the height of the bag from two sides and top access. The whole back opens up and you can carry way more stuff more securely. You basically get side access to the amount of stuff the Everyday backpack can carry period.

But it’s really a backpack for carrying camera/drone gear, a laptop and nothing else. If you routinely want to carry say a notebook and a sandwich, the Lowepro doesn’t really work that well. Again, great option if you want an everyday carry and in your everyday carry you routinely carry a laptop, tablet and say a tech pouch, a book and some camera gear.

This is particularly so if you frequently spontaneously want access to your camera. If this is not you, there are better options. FYI, the charcoal can be better than the black cosmetically over the long run because it does better with dirt and the mag latch is chrome and so does not show scratches like the black mag latch on the black.

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack provides the following (in no particular order): 1) Organizational options that allow the least organized to consider the benefits of orderliness (multiple pockets in each compartment, removable dividers in the main storage area, slots for a laptop, tablet, maybe even a Kindle or smaller device too).

4) Plenty of grip points for pulling your pack from a packed car, overhead plane bin, or other slightly difficult perch you may find yourself faced with. The shoulder straps are quite comfy, although the included sternum strap is a bit finicky to latch.

Multiple anchor points would allow for a shoulder strap to convert this to a duffle-style bag at your leisure. In short, the Everyday Backpack is versatile, enduring, comfortable, fastidiously designed, and wants you to be your best self as you navigate whatever challenges life might throw your way.

I’ve been using this bag both for everyday carry and as the “personal item” on a recent trip. I am not a photographer or videographer, so it was used for general carry (laptop, tablet, tech kit, Nintendo Switch, etc.

) The bag is excellent quality and looks great, but there are some details that take some getting used to. Pros: – Midnight color is gorgeous and looks almost leather-like. Feels very durable. To be perfectly honest, I mostly got this bag for its looks more than anything.

I wanted something that looked professional and sleekd and was a dark blue color, and this fit the bill. – Dividers give a lot of flexibility to the inside. I was able to arrange things to optimize access and organization.

– The straps are quite comfortable and it’s easy to rotate the bag with one strap on to grab stuff on the side openings. – The water bottle pockets are great and my bottle never fell over, a first for me after lots of lost bottles on other bags.

– The zippers are super smooth and rarely got snagged even when slightly overpacked. – The luggage pass-through works great on a carry-on sized roller bag and made it so much easier to move through the airport.

Again, the water bottle didn’t fall out even when sideways on the roller bag. – The magnets to keep the straps close to the back make for a super clean look Cons: – The 20L version isn’t super wide. I can barely fit my Nintendo Switch in its case lengthwise, and will not fit an Apple Magic Keyboard.

I have to store them vertically and remove one of the dividers so they fit. The bag in general is quite rigid and will not let itself be overstuffed. This would not be a good back for one-bag travel because of this limitation.

– There’s not really a great place to throw stuff from pockets (lip balm, phone, wallet) into the bag. There are some small pockets but they will not fit the items very well or they will fall out. – If stuff isn’t in pouches, it can easily fall out of the bag when opened from the sides.

– If storing both a laptop and tablet, it’s a tight fit and the tablet is hard to get out. (I use a 16″ MacBook Pro (thicker 2021 model) and a 10. 9″ iPad Air in a magnetic folio case) – It’s not super comfortable to carry if it’s very heavy as the hip belt is not included.

The sternum strap helps but the bag doesn’t rest well on my hips. I’m also a woman, so the unisex bag might not be optimized for shorter torsos. This is not a huge deal and instead an incentive to keep it light anyways.

– The sternum strap is sleek, but very hard to put on and off. – The laptop compartment’s zipper pull is much smaller than the others and it was quite hard to lock it up, but it is possible.

Quite surprised how perfect this camera back pack is. All my kit fits neatly, thats multiple lenses flash and the small bits and bobs. The tripod also straps neatly to the side. Maybe my kit is smaller than other peoples my camera being mirrorless, like wise my tripod.

Then entire camera section is full but without being cramped or the opposite allow the gear to flop around. Havent used the laptop front section but will when we motorhome around Australia. Very happy but it is early days of use.

How it stands the rest of time remains to be seen. Lastly its comfortable to wear on walks. I added I little more padding I had from another bag. If they include this it would be 10/10. But without a cool 9/10 from me.

I’d had my eye on this backpack for quite some time. Having already bought a few K&F Concept filters that are good quality, I knew this would be a quality product too. It holds my Z-Cam E2 cinema camera with Canon f4 24-104mm Lens + Speed booster attached, 2 extra lenses, another large battery, 7″ monitor, headphones, tabletop tripod, filters, cables in zip pouch, my MacBook Pro M1, and even an iPad.

There’s no water bottle pouch, although I can easily clip on to the side as well as a larger travel tripod. The fabric on the outside is really nice too. Better than it appears in photos. Very sturdy overall.

With a backpack like this, I feel the only real limit is the weight of what I can put in it or attach to the side. The fa.

This bag is advertised as being “large” but it’s actually quite manageable and would be a great carry-on bag that will fit beneath most airline seats. That doesn’t mean that this camera bag is lacking in features.

far from it actually. Inside the bag there are multiple form partitions that are customizable for the gear you choose to pack. The outside of the bag has a large zippered pocket that could fit a number of items such as maps and books or travel papers.

On the inside of the front flap there is a large mesh pocket and two padded laptop and tablet pockets. There is a HUGE amount of room in this back but we’re not done yet. One of the most impressive features is the tripod carry possibility.

there is a strap at the side of the bag with an innovative fold down pocket at the bottom of the same side. This allows the tripod legs to fit inside the pocket while the tripod is strapped down securely at the top for carrying.

All the zippers on the bag are solid and work great and the straps are nice and wide and extremely comfortable so far. The adjustable chest strap is placed so that ladies can carry this bag just as comfortably as men.

A great feature! In the short time I’ve used this bag it’s done nothing but impress me. If the construction proves to be as tough as it appearsto be this is will be a fantastic bag to have on long and short outings when style is needed to mesh seamlessly with function.

I have to preface this review by saying that this has been a great pack since I bought it in August of 2020, and up until last week I would have given it 5 stars. HOWEVER, the main compartment zipper just separated and the pack is completely unusable since it can’t close.

Luckily it failed when I was opening it and it was laying down flat, and not when I was carrying it on my back! It’s a weatherproof zipper that’s welded and sewn, so can’t be re-connected like a regular zipper.

I filled out the online warranty repair form (including proof of purchase receipt from their Amazon store) along with photos – they replied that they would not replace it and said I needed to take it to a tailor to replace the zipper, and then to send them the receipt for reimbursement.

THIS IS NOT A ZIPPER THAT CAN BE EASILY REPAIRED BY A TAILOR, IF AT ALL. Super frustrated that they won’t honor their (limited) lifetime warranty for a very critical component that’s clearly defective.

If you buy this pack, beware that your main compartment zipper may separate, which means everything inside will fall out – except your laptop. Just think about that risk for a minute before you put all your camera gear in this bag.

It’s a 5-star product – as long as the zipper doesn’t come apart – supported by 1-star customer service.

Ok where to start. Don’t trust utubers. There. This review should be enough right there. Coming from a drone and photographer and NOT utuber influencer, my personal opinion. And as to not mess with drone points review system still giving it a 5 star rating as it simply isn’t right for me.

Buyers remorse here 😩 This bag is small. It has an angled top part that drops its size larger as it moves to the middle of the bag. This makes it awkward and annoying trying to fit lenses or gear as it changes size from small, picture a 35mm 1.

8 size lense at the top slop to a gradual increase in size to the middle. This makes it a tough bag to love. Would say it is the right bag for you if You fly smaller drones like air 2s or smaller. Maybe mavic 2’s If you shoot without vertical grips.

If you don’t have more than 1 lense that you use. OK maybe 2 lenses can fit inside. Being a little sarcastic. If you don’t shoot with fast primes like 1. 2s or 2. 8 zooms. But first thing I notice that stuck out was how small the bag is.

Utubers make it out as huge. Like it’s bigger than their first apartment huge. Well they get the free gear to review and influence me in a purchase so touche hats off If you are upgrading from the fly more combo bag.

This is the perfect bag for you! If you are upgrading from the brand camera shoulder bags, those freebies, this is the perfect bag for you. But its a hard bag to love. Awkward in setting up your gear and small in size.

I used to work for a high end tourism company in Chilean Patagonia. Instead of a hotel, this was a luxury vessel traveling into the most remotes areas of the fjord’s regions. From the ship, we departed on high speed RIB, helicopters, jetboats, kayaks and all sort of devices to access the most pristine sites including hidden lakes, glaciers, volcanoes, dense forest etc.

I had to record all these trips and I cannot imagine a more brutal environment for any backpack, ranging from the extreme weather, volcanic sand thrown by the helicopters and salty environment, to the most rough abuse while being tossed inside boats, crossing rivers, or just piled together with some rafting gear.

Inside I had several cameras (Nikon, Sony, GoPro) together with all sorts of accessories, first aid kit, lights and sound gears, satellite phone, VHF, notebook, hydrophones, and so much more than the expected stuff this backpack was supposed to carry.

The company bought several of these backpacks and I was so impressed that I bought one for myself. I recall checking the stuff at the storage building for the opening a new season, finding two of the backpacks “green”.

They were left on high humid environment for more than 6 month. They were covered on mildew and most thought it was time their end. However, just a bath in “lysol” for two days, and a soft sponge were enough to bring them back into work.

1- these backpacks are tough like a tank or a plastic case, but portable, comfortable and you can access your gear quickly. This is not just the outer shell but also the straps, external pockets etc.

Despite the brutal abuse with heavy stuff, the straps and all the backpack showed no signs to give up. Before this backpack I had the NRS Paragon Pack with dry bags and it was great but soon the straps started to show some worn, and the gear was way more complex to access as well as not very protected against shocks.

Then I used the Paragon with plastic cases. That solved the problem of access and protection, but it was a risk for anything around the case being bumped. Inside a helicopter this could be quite damaging.

The Dryzone200 solved all the issues. 2- this is the limit carry-on size for most airlines. Just fold the straps over the yellow area and it will fit the airplanes top compartments. 3- this backpack has plenty of room inside but is is up to you to organize it wisely.

4- there is only one main compartment that is waterproof (same t-zip closure than some drysuits for diving). So for the other pockets you may need to pack your stuff inside sealed bags. 5- This is not for wedding or studio photography.

I have met people complaining about the hard access to the main space of the backpack. You have to know that T-zip is not like velcro or a regular zipper. It is harder but it can get way softer if you keep it clean and always lubricated with its silicone gel.

Just like a drysuit for diving, the zipper needs some love and will protect watertight any camera you put inside. I used this backpack several years in the hardest conditions, being bumped against so many things.

I am sure it could give me many more years to go, but I lost it. Our house got robbed just after returning from an expedition. The thieves took the backpack with all the cameras inside, filming material etc.

They took most of our electronics, money, jewelry etc. But this backpack had my gear for working inside. I had to invest in new cameras etc, getting in debt. I could not afford to get a new backpack like this one, and I miss it as much as the cameras it used to carry inside.

I purchased this bag so I might get my cameras into deep, wet canyons in Australia’s World Heritage Blue Mountains. This would involve roping down waterfalls and lengthy swims through flooded slot canyons – so I needed something absolutely waterproof and bone dry.

I had looked at competitors offerings, but bulky hard cases were not going to do the trick for me. I basically needed a waterproof version of my trecker series camera backpack, and this one fit the bill perfectly.

A waterproof soft back pack? Impossible? I was skeptical at first and before putting my cameras in this bag I stuffed it with tissues and left it in my running shower for a full half hour. The result was a bone dry interior! I was sold.

And this back had enough room for my Pro DSLR with standard 50mm f1. 4 lens, 70-200mm zoom, 17-35mm zoom, speed light, light meter, cables and accessories and tonnes of room to spare for a small towell and lunch snacks and a tripod hitch on the back to boot.

Even after testing the bag I was still nervous about taking this bag into the field and trusting $20K worth of kit to it – a full day in the wet. But the true test came when I had no choice but to jump from a ledge beneath a waterfall into a swirling plunge pool below with my cameras on my back.

I was fully immersed, camera bag and all, and had to make a long slow swim to dry ground. Nervously I opened my DryZone bag and was amazed and relieved to find everthing inside bone dry. No leaking seams whatsoever – even after complete immersion! This bag is the bomb! It’s every bit as rugged a product as you’d expect from Lowe Pro.

It’s light weight, comfortable and surprisingly roomy. The deeper sections of the interior can be a bit difficult to access due to it’s water tight design, but I use these sections to store my little used but essential items – like the included zipper grease used to maintain the bags heavy duty water tight zipper.

I take this bag everywhere now and trust it in the ocean, dust storms, waterfalls and canyons. It even fits in airline overhead baggage compartments. When a waterproof housing and one lens just wont do the trick, this is the bag you need.

I highly reccommend this bag to photographers who aren’t too precious to get wet and dirty and need a bag that can handle those extreme environvironments.

I have the smaller version, the Dryzone 100 which they do not make any longer. I just recently went to take it on a work trip to Fiji only to find that the T-zip was broken at the very end of the zipper where it is supposed to “lock” the bag to provide waterproof protection, right where the place where the flap folds over clearly creating stress on that part of the zipper.

The bag had only been used for storage of my gear and had gone on one my trip with me. It looks brand new except for the broken zipper which was always maintained with the lubricant. I sent email to Lowepro over a month ago with photos of the issue.

And sadly never received a reply other than to say they were busy. So I would recommend this if it had longevity and if there were any customer service due to the failure of a rarely used zipper. but since it did fail and they did not respond I say boo to Lowepro.

The pocket and access design gets 5 stars. The fabrication on the other hand makes it hard to love. Please note, I bought this bag solely for camera gear & outdoor hikes. I wore this backpack on two short-ish hikes and my shoulders and back were sooo sore after.

The straps are very stuff and so uncomfortable, I think I need to buy strap covers to try and soften the load. Our first hike was to somewhere dusty, (I got the light blue color) and the bag was got covered in sand.

I washed it in the washing machine, soaked in in Dawn AND attempted to powerwash it. Most of it came off, but it stains really really easily. If i could, I’d definitely forgo the nice color for BLACK instead.

The material is not nylon or coated like most backpacks. Its like a soft uncoated canvas, which is really nice for light use, but anything outdoorsy will leave you with stains for every little contact point.

The versatility of the pockets and zips are 5 stars. I love the straps on the bottom of the bag, which I use for my tripod. And the side access to grab your camera without having to take your bag totally off and lay it down.

I really really wanted to love this backpack. but it just fell short. I can live with the stainability, but comfort is really important to me. I think if I have to go anything more than a mile with my gear, I’d use a different bag.

I will be using this bag for my trip next month and already I’ve been putting items in all the different compartments. I love the fact that there are several compartments, including a secure side zipper that sits against your back where you can safely place a wallet and passport.

Half of the bag (the bottom) is where your camera and equipment sit, and the top half is where you’d put your belongings. Unfortunately I am not a minimalist. I don’t travel light, and I was hoping to put more items in the top half.

My laptop is not thin enough to fit the compartment built for laptops/tablets. I will be utilizing the front pocket for holding electronic media, such as wires, memory cards, and plug adapters. This bag is not built for anti-theft, but you might be able to find ways around it to make it work, such as placing travel locks on the metal zipper loops rather than the cords that are attached to said loops.

As for the latch to close the top of the bag, it is difficult when you have a lot of items stuffed into the top section. I am very excited to see how this bag travels, but so far I’ve used it for going to work.

Alright so I’ve used this thing for a few months though, mostly little day trips around town but I also just spent a week hiking in Iceland with it. Pro: it is quite comfortable, the moveable camera pocket dividers are nice, the quick access pocket is convenient though I didn’t use it much because I have a camera clip I like better.

I never felt like my camera was in any danger and even though it’s not specifically waterproof even after hiking behind waterfalls nothing inside was wet. Love the convenience of the water bottle holder and the tripod straps Cons: after a while it does start to get heavy and uncomfortable.

If you’ve got the camera pocket set up there really isn’t much room for much else in the main pocket, I had my sunglasses, some sun screen, asthma inhaler and that was about all that would fit. The moveable dividers are a bit flimsy and have found mine bending meaning it’s not as snug a fit and things can move around.

Also this might just be because I have the black one but it’s physically hard to see where you’re actually placing them.

This is an awesome bag for optics. It safely and comfortably carries a ton of photo and optics gear. Fully loaded, it can get quite heavy and bulky so be ready to carry around a lot of weight. We had this bag fully-loaded as carry-on luggage for two round-trip flights; one international and one domestic.

The bag did fit in the overhead compartment on the plane. However, on one leg of one flight, we did get some problems at check-in regarding the weight and size of the bag and we had to remove our latched-on tripod and take some gear out.

I’m a birder and so carried the following gear in the bag: Leica Televid APO 65 telescope, Zeiss 8×42 binoculars, Nikon D7100 with 200-500mm zoom lens, and two smaller Nikon lenses. Also had a light jacket, electronics cables, a bird field guide, and lots of other smaller gear in there.

The all-weather cover is nice and it also fits a laptop and a water bladder. That said, this bag is a bit on the heavy/bulky side for me for day use as I don’t need to carry ALL my gear around just for the day.

For day use, I may go with the Flipside 400 which won’t fit all my gear, but will fit enough. But this is a great bag if you have a lot of gear to lug around and don’t mind the weight of it fully loaded.

This is a huge bag but I knew that when I ordered it. Just a lot bigger than I could even imagine. It holds all of my gear and weighs about 35 pounds with everything inside. I had to get a trolley to move it around as carrying it is just too much.

I love the fact that I can take all of the back shoulder and waist straps off since I don’t use it as a backpack. I think every other bag I’ve ever owned does not allow you to do this so it is a huge plus for me.

Takes a lot of the bulkiness out. I would say though that if you did want to use this as intended, the shoulder straps and waist belt are very beefy and padded and would be very comfortable carrying it on your back.

It has plenty of storage space and pockets on the side and a huge laptop compartment. Some people don’t like the top pouch as it makes it more bulky but it can be easily removed so no big deal. It also serves as a fanny pack though and hold a LOT of stuff! I have all my filter pouches in it.

The only thing I don’t like it is latch for the laptop pouch. You have to connect the latch to keep the laptop (or other accessories) from falling out if you lay the backpack down. It doesn’t really come out that easily but could.

In order to open the backpack, you have to unlatch the latch each time. I would have preferred aseparate latch that connected to the body of the backpack and not attached to the top opening. I may make a velcro fix for this.

A minor detail but annoying for me. The carrying handle is very solid with a nice rubber grip. There is also a handle on each side to help with lifting. The inside is very configurable and padded extremely well.

The depth makes it great to put external flashes in standing up and also many lenses. Only the large telephotos will have to be laid on their sides. This gives you a LOT of room for many lenses and large accessories.

All in all, for the price, it is just about the largest camera backpack on the market and one of the best out there!.

I bought this bag a month ago for an international filming trip on a snow tour and loved it. By removing the top lid, and compressing the bag, I was able to carry it on all my international flights. It protected all my gear while it got thrown into small airplanes and on to snow sleds and while snowshoeing across difficult terrain.

This bag can do a lot! I am a one man production team and was bale to carry a TON of gear. I comfortable carried my 3 cameras, audio equipment, Feather Camera Crane, Rhino slider, 2 tripods, GoPro kit, and way more, plus my personal stuff like my extra jacket and rain gear.

I was able to keep all my gear warm and dry. It allowed me to have my entire kit on me at all times. Any video or stills I wanted to capture I could. It was a major reason the trip went such a success.

I will continue to use this bag on the majority of my indoor and outdoor shoots. Its great to grab one bag that has everything. I did have to make a custom modification to achieve maximum efficiency with the bag.

The 4 side straps that compress the bag and can hold tripods and gear, go over top the zipper unfortunately. This forces you to drop the two side attached items every time you want to get inside the bag.

Easy fix was to order 4 large 32in black rubber gear ties and attach them to the straps on the bag. Then you can quickly secure a tripod and it made it possible to open the bag with the side items attached.

I love this backpack! It’s great quality, very comfortable to wear, and adequately padded to protect my Canon 80D, multiple lenses, batteries, etc. I just wish it had a small zipper pocket for memory cards and other small items on the inside.

It has a large mesh pocket on the inside but it only partially closes with Velcro so my memory cards slide around and could possibly fall out (they would only fall out on the inside of the backpack so not THAT big of a deal, but still wish they could be kept in a secure place where they’ll stay put).

Would also love a zipper pocket on the outside for other small items like business cards, money, ID, keys, etc so I wouldn’t have to bring my wallet and these things would be easily accessible without having to put the entire pack down and open it.

Overall, it’s a great product and I would buy it again.

The video camera backpack bag is convenient for carrying the 2nd camera to a two camera shoot because one camera goes on my back and the other carried in a more traditional over the shoulder bag. Now I can carry both cameras, two tripods and an accessory support bag to a video shoot all in one trip.

I like this backpack. Only thing wrong when it arrived was one of the dividers inside was falling apart. I sewed it back together and it was good as new! But it should have arrived that way. It is very functional though.

I took 2 stars off for the round edges. I have D850 + Z7 bodies plus lens & flashes and they are tight. It is difficult to get the equipment from the side pockets and top pockets – I find these useless and fear someday one of my pieces will fall out.

Most of the time I use the main zipper to get things in and out. The round corners make the bag looks streamline and nice, but they are lost spaces (i. e. you could only place tiny accessories or leave it as empty space).

I prefers the old and traditional square boxy bag. Material wise I have no complains. It looks nice and cool; but not optimally functional. I have always considered Lowepro as my goto camera bag, but this time will look into Think Tank bags since they have the traditional boxy bag.

It’s a good thing this bag does *not* fit the kitchen sink, because then it would be too heavy, but. it does fit everything I wanted! It’s a tight squeeze, and I wonder if I’m trying to cram too much in, but I wanted something to bring all my stuff for an upcoming trip.

And this fits the bill. See included photos to see everything I shoved inside this backpack. It holds a Ronin DJI RSC 2 gimbal (the Pro Combo set), a Nikon D850, 4 lenses (70-200mm, 24-70mm, 50mm & 35mm), all the accoutrements for the gimbal and the camera, a Zoom H12n recorder (and all its accoutrements) and the various bags I’ve employed to hold all this stuff.

And a pair of reading glasses and an extra face mask, cause you never know. I don’t have anything in the laptop sleeve because I’m not bringing one. I was hoping the bag that the gimbal and all its stuff came in would fit into the backpack but it doesn’t; so I took everything out, and reconfigured the backpack to fit the gimbal and all the cables, gadgets & Raven Eye stuff, and 2 mini DJI tripods (I bought an extra; both tripods and the quick release plate fit inside the little bag which was included with the backpack, which is very nice).

I’ve used the backpack’s removable dividers to create layers in order to get everything in (plus I used a divider from a different camera bag). I have things layered on top of the gimbal (but they’re light and being held by the divider, so it’s not got it weight directly on top) and I have other things layered on top of other things (ditto about using the dividers to hold without weighing directly on top).

The backpack and all the stuff I have in it weighs 21. 6 pounds. I’m a woman, 5’5 and curvaceous (i. e. I got padding plus extra pandemic padding and a belly and a booty that this backpack needs to get along with) and all the straps seem to fit me fine.

The zippers feel sturdy, and the bag itself feels strong and well-made. I love how customizable it is with the removable dividers. You can make so many different configurations to suit your needs. Yes, it’s heavy, with all this stuff in there.

I’m not going on a long hike with this thing, and I’m wondering if maybe I don’t need all four lenses; but for the purpose of getting everything in there safely and comfortably enough to transport through an airport and onto an airplane, I think it’ll be great.

Hopefully it will work on the plane–I checked the dimensions of the airline for carry-ons and personal items and it fits within those dimensions. Maybe after my trip I can update this review with how it actually worked out for me.

I appreciated the other reviews and photos I’ve seen from people who bought this backpack, so I wanted to add mine too, in case it helps someone decide if this will work for them–especially if you have a gimbal like this, because that was my main concern.

i was able to get this bag before a week long convention. all in all, it is a great bag for traveling with a lot of gear. i traveled with a flash, 2 bodies and 4 lenses along with the accessory pouch full of filters, cleaning kit and spare batteries in it as well as cables and small accessories in the outside patch and a laptop in its compartment.

the bolstered straps helped to make the bag not feel as heavy on my shoulders and back for as much gear as i was carrying. like most bags it has its pros and cons. the back of it is really padded well which is nice, but is not breathable as much as i think they tried to (back will be sweaty very quickly).

the ‘waist strap’ is none removable. i had to do a lot of pulling to get this removed from the rivet (i’ve never liked this on any bag and most in the past from various companies were removable). the outside is able to take some abuse and get wet from the rain.

the outside pockets are great for waterbottles, holds them in sturdy and retracts back in without any ‘looseness’ as i’ve had with past bags. there is plenty of room inside and very configurable. the outside pocket is great to throw small items and keys in and doesnt really get smashed (very sturdy).

the locks are great for when traveling, especially when walking through very populated areas that you want to ensure your items are secured and not able to unzip a compartment the accessory bag inside is great for keeping filters, small tools, tripod plates and other items in one place.

the laptop pocket is very sturdy and cushioned and has room to put other items such as paperwork or small notepad in.

The bag has excellent materials, but I still prefer my Brevite Jumper over this one. I hate how the bag opens up, also there is no stretch to the bag. 2lbs with nothing in it is heavy for a camera bag.

It’s not comfortable to wear because it feels bulky and top heavy. There’s also a lot of unnecessary pockets. The worst part is you have to buy a camera cube which runs another $100!.

i love this bag. it has a good amount of pockets for storage, the storage capacity is great, the material is wonderful, and a overall stylish bag. the one and only issue i have so far is that i knew it was going to be on the bigger side which is great when you have a lot of things to bring with you, but it is not the most convenient sized everyday bag in my opinion.

i would love to be able to carry this bag around all day with my laptop an small everyday items but i feel it is a little bit too large. if this bag also came in a smaller option awell, that would be amazing!.

Looks perfect on paper, but not so much. The side compartment zipper is finicky. The back somehow pulls away from my shoulders, creating back strain. I want to get rid of this bag, but I have not found a better replacement yet.

Overall not the worst, the hip belt is a lifesaver if you are carrying much – quite nice.

This backpack hit all of the very specific requirements I had for a bag, save one. It is extremely light, insanely comfortable (already hiked about 6 miles with it), durable, seems really well made. It’s ergonomic and has plenty of pockets and attachment points.

I like the built in camera cube and it fits my Nikon Z7 and minimal kit (24-70 f/4 lens, l-bracket, spare batteries etc with lots of room to spare. Wasn’t sure I’d like the rolltop but as it turns out I love it and it’s not inconvenient (relatively speaking of course–it is a roll top and no a zip compartment).

But here’s my one thing: tripod carry is not great, not even a little. I have a very small tripod, the Manfrotto Element small. It’s about 12. 5 folded. I can attach it to the bottom of the pack no problem using straps (I picked up some f-stop ones rather than shell out another $25 for the Wandrd ones), BUT then it blocks the quick access opening on the side, which is a huge reason why I bought the bag.

If I put it in the bottle holder pocket, there’s no strap to keep the head from flopping over (I know some people rig them with a bungee cord but my tripod is too short for that). Finally, if I mount it on the front of the bag using horizontal straps (again, f-stop), it messes up the balance of the pack and makes me feel like the bag is pulling me backwards.

If I can figure out a better way to make tripod carry work, this pack will be absolutely perfect. If not, then it’s almost perfect, but I’d still highly, highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a small but spacious pack and don’t carry tripods often.

(Oh, and for reference, I’m a 5’2 woman with about a 17-18 torso. This is the ONLY pack I found that was not way too big/heavy for me AND had BOTH side access and weather resistant zips plus room for non-camera gear.

I’ve been using it for about 8 months now. Mostly for short nature day trips and city vacations. I can fit 2 Fujifilm bodies (xt2 + xt20) with 2-3 lenses (e. g. 16-55 + 55-200 + 35), batteries, memory cards and small accessories.

Sometimes a small bottle of water and some snacks too if I push it. The outside is very sturdy, zippers are holding up very well (and I push their limits often). The only small issue I have, is that the dividers got really soft after a while.

Causing gear to be able to move inside if it’s not packed tight. Overall, it’s a great bag that looks great compared to other photography bags. Perfect for mirrorless systems or classic 35mm film systems.

I purchase the USA Gear Compact Digital Camera Backpack to use as carry on luggage when I travel with my camera. I wanted a carry on that would be durable, safely carry the camera necessities for a week’s vacation, and one that would stow neatly under the airline seat in front of me.

In my version of this backpack, I have a Canon 70D, a Canon 18-135mm lens, a Canon 24mm pancake lens, an SD Card Wallet, an extra battery and charger. I have found that I can take along an iPad if I lay it on top of the camera equipment where it rides safely zipped away for storage in its case.

In the front outer pocket, I have a Kindle Paperwhite, and a small notebook. I can also store my passport and a week’s worth of medications as well as an IPOD and bluetooth earphones. For me, it is the perfect carryon.

It is sturdy, well reinforced and it looks smart as well.

This is a nice little backpack with a few flaws of design. The good: it will carry almost my entire Olympus MFT kit: camera, 12-100mm; 7-14mm Panasonic; 7. 5mm Samyang fish-eye; 60mm Olympus macro; 100-400mm Elmar; plus extra batteries, memory cards, cable release.

Shortcomings: the outer pockets are all flat, no provision for accordion-style expansion to accommodate a bulkier accessory (for example, a small strobe in one of the side pockets. Also, there is no provision for attaching a small tripod.

The backpack is close, but not perfect.

Seems like this is a very serviceable backpack. Enough room for the camera equipment I will be hauling. There is one seam that has started to open that I could not see in the photo provided. I have sewn it back together in my “non-sewing guy” manner and it should be okay.

I don’t get out and about as much as I used to, so I am expecting that this bag will work for me for a long time.

Love that the top half can be used for anything else. Big enough to lay 2 water bottles down side by side. Would recommend a plastic store bag if you want to store cold items and liquids due to condensation.

The bottom half, I am able to pack 3 camera lenses comfortable, 4 if you include the mounted lense on the body, with a little room to spare for filters or hoods. To test the water resistant claim, I poured a cap full of water on the backpack and it did not absorb.

Overall a recommeded backpack for an avid outdoor photographer.

Just what I was looking for. Plenty of storage for equipment, and a decent compartment for other things you might need on a hike. Can’t wait to use it once it gets a little warmer.

Absolutely love this bag, it is comfortable, nicely padded both to protect camera and lenses, along with being comfortable on my shoulders. Easy to access camera without having to fully remove bag. Looks great (not just your standard camera bag)! Overall really really pleased.
