20 Best Waterproof Dog Blanket (2022 Updated)

This blanket is great for pets. Our dogs and cats like to lay on it. We put it on the sofa where our senior dog likes to sleep. We bought it specifically for her since she is in the later stages of kidney disease.

Ironically our dog threw up on it within an hour. I tossed it right into the wash machine and then on very low heat in the dryer and it washed up perfectly, I think it is important for people to know that it is good quality, except the “fur” is not the silky soft fur that you find in the nice faux fur throws humans.

It’s more like the fur you would buy for fabric for a Halloween costume. I personally would not want to use it as a blanket for myself, but probably good for the foot of your bed if that where your pet sleeps and you need a moisture barrier “just in case.

” I would say that is my only disappointment. Otherwise it works great for our purposes. We bought the white, not the polar white, and it has brownish tips which looks very natural.

I thought this would be a like a blanket. It is not. It has some kind of stiff material in the inside so you can’t really cover your pet with it. Not what I wanted

I recently ordered a Pawtect blanket and not realizing I had purchased one earlier in the year and was to use it for my neighbors 13 year old beagle that had been staying with me for a few years. She had torn a ligament in her leg and could no longer climb up the 20 steps to his apartment.

Being old and a little overweight the vet didnt feel she would withstand the operation. Having thyroid trouble she was always cold. Well when this blanket arrived it was so warm and thick that she never wanted to get off of it.

A month later she could no longer walk and we had to put her to sleep. I washed the blanket, which washes and dries and returns to just like it was bought, nice and fluffy and warm. Warm weather was coming and I folded it up and put it away.

I saw these advertised and ordered one forgetting I had a very big one. When it came in and I saw how small it was I knew it was too small for my lab and when I saw what it was like I realized I had a very large one put away.

My Lab loves it and is always sleeping on it and it washes so nice. I was going to donate this small one to a local pet agency but do to covid they were not accepting anything for awhile, As I was talking to an elderly lady she was telling me about her older dog and it has arthritis and is always cold and she dont know what to do already.

I took her the small blanket I just got in the mail and told her this is for you dog and I know it will keep him warm and a week later she called crying that she cant thank me enough and she said that was the best gift I have ever got.

SHe said she even takes the blanket to bed so her dog can lay in her bed and stay warm. Thanks for making such a nice and arm thick waterproof blanket that washes so nice. There were two older and 1 younger dogs happy sleeping on them.

I have 2 geriatric pets, a cat and dog. Unfortunately that has led to some increased accidents. Compound that with some territory issues between the older cat and a young one, and we had a problem with pet beds being peed on.

We have been using this blanket for a bit now – and it does not leak through at all! It has been washed over 30x already, and is still soft, looks brand new, and is not retaining any odor. We have actually ordered several now- two to protect the dog bed another for the couch and one for the cat bed.

We have tried others, only to find they either leaked through, or after a couple washings started to leak and felt like something was crinkling in them. These look and feel like a normal blanket and wash well just on a normal cycle, nothing special needed.

You won’t regret buying this.

This was gifted. I was going to give it to a local pet agency but due to Covid they were not taking anything for awhile. I had an elderly lady that had her 13 yr old small dog that has arthritis and she was telling me she hated the thoughts of winter since her dog is always cold.

I gave her the blanket and she called a few days later crying. SHe could not thank me enough for giving her this warm blanket for her Frankie. She wraps him in it and carries him outside so that he isn’t so cold and she wraps him in it when they go to bed.

She was one happy dog owner and said that’s the best gift she has ever received. I didn’t realize that I bought a large one earlier this year for a older dog that I was fostering but had to be put to sleep.

I dug it out and now my lab lays on it most of the time. I love how well it washes and how warm they are. Thanks for a super warm pet blanket.

I got a new puppy and was at a loss as how to handle the new job of training since we had finished training our little morkie months ago. I decided I needed a blanket on the carpet for her to be comfortable on since she couldn’t get on the furniture until she was bigger, and was hoping this would be her comfy blanket when she was outside her doggy playpen area.

She loved it from day one. When she had an accident, there was no problem and it saved our carpet. I also got one for the bed. No one would ever know they were pet blankets, and they are also good for spills.

They wash beautifully and still hold the waterproof consistency. I love them, and she also loves to chew on things and has chewed another thinner blanket through with her teething, but has not done it with this one.

It is well worth the money.

I subscribe to these sites, as I just try to keep my knowledge up to par wherever I can, so I may keep abreast of what’s available. I rescue American Fox Hounds, If I could, hands down, I’d rescue every dog in the world.

How I came to rescue these magnificent canines, is far too long of a story to tell. Humbly, my Fox Hounds would LOVE these luxurious throws. My hounds were brought up in a barn full of other like kin, for fox hunters on horses, to rent in packs for laid scent.

When they retire, they call me. Sorry so long… but these throws and along with other pampering items, are way out of my budget. If anyone wants to donate ANYTHING, please, it’d be more helpful and greatly appreciated than I can express.

Let me start by saying this blanket is exactly what I was looking for. It’s well made, heavy (so it won’t move around), and I’m sure if it had been used, it would have fit the purpose. I ordered the light grey color to match our decor, and didn’t happen to see that the trim on the outside is brown until i opened the packaging.

The back of the blanket is black, so it doesn’t really make sense the trim would be brown. Our house is very modern, and we wanted a nice looking blanket to fit in, but the brown trim unfortunately ruined it for me.

You can’t “not” see it either, otherwise I wouldn’t care (you can’t really hide it). If this type of thing bothers you, make sure to check the pictures carefully. If you don’t care, then it’s a perfect blanket.

Hopefully they will change the trim color to match the blanket, and I’ll re-order it.

We have 2 Daniffs, who like to close and think they are lap dogs. They normally sleep on a large dog bed beside the bed. However, when morning come a everybody else is up, they claim the bed for themselves.

It was easier to purchase the large throw from Paws then argue with 200lbs of big ole babies who only want to please and be with you. At night they sleep on the throw which we cover their bedding with.

During the day we cover our bedding with the throw we purchased from Paws. One of the smartest (and easiest) purchased I’ve done. Highly recommend. In fact. I just placed a order for another one today.

We are outside a lot and the throw will be a nice decorative addition to our campsite and fire pit area.

Spent a good amount on the new loveseat which my double-coated Manx cat immediately adopted as his own. The fabric is a linen blend, his fur just weaves in and makes a haze of undercoat. Fuzzy Throw came to the rescue.

He loves it, the throw stays put and my loveseat is perfect now for human use without hours of fur removal. Haven’t washed it yet, so can’t comment on that.

Very nice dog jacket. Warm and weatherproof. The only thing I would change is to add more velcro to the jacket itself so as to make it tighter around the body.

These Amigo dog blankets/coats are the best on the market. They are made really nice and hold up excellent. I have at least 1 for each dog and 2 for the seniors who love to sleep in them. They keep them warm but not hot, and the heat is great therapy for their Arthritic joints.

Every time the dogs wear them off the property people always want to know where I found such nice dog blankets or coats. I love the Velcro across the front and under the belly. This design works so much nicer than a web strap Or buckle closure.

They also hold up to washing on heavy duty. I have some that are 10 yrs old but they sure don’t look it. Great blankets at a fabulous price! I highly recommend these blankets.

This is our 4th Amigo dog blanket/coat and we have loved everyone. This model seems to have been improved to feature a more fitted back to fit your dog even better. it keeps your dog warm or dry in winter or rain and you can put it right over the head so all you have to do is tighen the strap under the belly and you are ready for hours of warmth and play.

Our dogs really love them and they are very reasonably priced and well made!!!1.

Bought this for my large Rottweiler as we are active outside all through the winter and we hike rain, sleet, or snow. It fits well and is the quality you would expect of any Rambo blanket. It definitely keeps him drier and cleaner in the weather! The easy to add/remove liner, and the reflective strips are also nice features.

Got this for my bed as my dog will lick his feet (allergies) and then my bed is damp, plus keeping more hair off the duvet. Love the colors (green) and it’s very soft. My dogs haven’t tested the waterproofing yet, but it definitely feels like it will keep moisture from going through.

Cons for me are that the size is a bit too small to cover a queen bed. I looked at the measurements and knew the size I would receive, but it would be nice if there was an even larger size available than the max here.

Also the two sides are not tacked together so it slides around and doesn’t always lay nicely when the dogs are on it, but that’s pretty minor as well.

My new rescue dog likes to be up on the couch. He likes to ‘make a nest’ by raking the surface of his bed. This blanket helps to protect my fairly new couch from being raked by those little toenails and protects from his sneezes (mucus) and ‘personal area’ discharges.

Worth the purchase definitely. I have no idea how it will do with laundering but I hope it will hold up.

My dog is a boxer and loves to scratch blankets to his comfort!! This is a wonderful product for such a job to holding up to a boxer making himself comfortable. My only down fall is this is not in any way thick.

So once scooped into a ball we have to pick up and flatten out so he can scrunch as he likes. It is a wonderful material and does not collect his hair so always looks nice.

Really not that impressed with this blanket. It was shorter than advertised by about 6 inches lengthwise (I ordered the king size). It didn’t match the size description for queen either, so I’m not sure what happened.

I reached out to customer service several times and received no reply, even on Instagram. This thing sheds like crazy and I have fuzz all over my house. It does protect my quilt from my dog digging, but I would not pay the price for what essentially any blanket can do.

This is technically washable, but if you put it in the dryer it will be ruined. This is overpriced for what it is and I’m glad I didn’t purchase a second one like I was planning. I ended up keeping it because my dog had a seizure on it and peed during the episode.

It’s a well made blanket. It has a lot of weight and is manufactured really well, but it not for my dogs. I received it two days ago unwrapped it and it looks great on sight. It’s a little coarse to the touch.

But that wouldn’t have been a deal breaker. My dog over the night while I slept she then proceeded to pluck the blanket so when I woke up there was sheds of pink fluff everywhere. I just hope she didn’t eat any of it.

I shall soon find out. But if you have a less destructive dog I would recommend the blanket but not for dogs that like to destroy their toys. It’s a shame because it has a really nice look to it. Also I think the site should put a label on the blanket like they do with dog toys like about how durable it is for jaw strength.

This was the perfect gift for Daisy, newly adopted, and still a bit shy. Her new blanket was an instant hit and she readily found comfort in it. Daisy’s new mom was also delighted, making this a win/win way to welcome her.

It will be her go to blanket when she visits friends. and we all know how important a special blanket can be.
