20 Best Waterproof Hiking Gloves (2022 Updated)

These gloves were purchased to replace a pair which was similar in construction: a vapor barrier, inset liners among other features. My comparison and baseline was to replace the 10-year old pair. Unfortunately these gloves have a few issues: Expecting the pair to be large by design, they are not proportionate to the hand measurements provided by the manufacturer.

It almost seems as if the finger length is nearly universal for the gloves with different cuff sizes. The fingers are too long, creating extra loft space between the liners and insulated outer glove layer.

This results in movement and slippage of things such as an ice axe, pole, steering wheel etc. Furthermore, this extra loft space compromises warmth as it is too large for heat to be adequately trapped in cold weather.

Below 20F, I prefer my old, worn gloves that have been repaired multiple times. I do appreciate some of the other features the gloves has, such as the easy-pull elastic cuff band, the heat warmer pocket which can be unzipped to let out moisture.

The nose wipe is made of rough leather so it’s a bit unpleasant to wipe with; this is a trivial complaint. I currently cannot trust these on vertical alpine hikes which require a firm grip on my axe, so that will be stuck to recreational hikes.

Finally, the price was good: under 50 for the pair shipped, I’d be upset otherwise.

After -2 and several snowfalls, I’m sick of painful fingers in 10 minutes while snow blowing. Wanted the best gloves for under $70. Bought them and immediately did my sidewalk. Within 15 minutes my hands were cold, NOT on the fringe of frostbite.

Cold is tolerable and expected. I have small hands, and M is almost too small for me, they fit snug. They have wrist straps too! I don’t expect to use my phone wearing these monsters, I WANT TO BE WARM!.

I bought these to replace an old pair of gloves that weren’t keeping my fingers warm while skiing in the frigid New England weather. These keep my fingers nice and toasty. They were almost too warm while waiting in the lift line on a sunny day.

I also love the wrist cuffs. Very convenient to take gloves on and off without dropping them or having to hold on to them.

as soon as you take the mittens out of the box you can tell they are well built. I love the pocket on top which i will use to store my keys. it even comes with elastic straps that strap to your wrist so they never fall off.

something that my previous mittens don’t have. with insulation and gortext i have full confidence these bad boys will live up to expectation this winter.

These gloves have been fantastic, i live in the pacific northwest of Canada, i bought these gloves for mid and late season hunting after having to carry multiple pairs of gloves to change as mine got wet grabbing on to wet trees and mossy ground while hunting.

I also use them for walking my dog and just in general. I have had the opportunity to wear them while it is raining, and my hands stayed warm and dry. These gloves are still mobile enough to manipulate my GPS, and i am able to keep them on while getting in and out of my back pack.

The only gripe i would have and it is a small one and i have been able to work around it, i wear a Garmin watch and the cuff of the glove doesn’t fit that well over top of it. but i just keep that cuff a bit looser and seems to work fine! Highly recommend these gloves, my Partner has a pair as well, she uses for dog walking and hiking and she loves them, fit is true, My hands wear 9.

5″ according to their size chart, and i bought the Large.

Good glove. Went for large as opposed extra large as I know they will relax a little and tried this product in a shop at 15 quid more than RRP. The large size is a tight fit at the moment. Looks good quality and I bought them as a shooting glove so index finger can be extracted for trigger and thenglove tip.

folds back and is held clear with a magnet as oppossed velcro which I feel is better. Velcro wasnt designed by Ninjas 😯. The termal protection in the field isnt brilliant at first go (dog walking with a high output metal torch) but to be honest.

i usually use a ski glove on the left in a vehicle. even 5 to 10 MPH adds a lot to chill factor) as well as it helps support the rifle and the right hand is inside with access to a pocket and a hand warmer too.

I wear a heavy and huge watch and this clashes with the cuff a lot but as this hand is typically inside a vehicle and it can still do up I dont consider it an issue. Unusalually I wear the watch on my right wrist as oppossed the left.

But if your out standing in the wind this may help chill your wrist and hand. Materials and construction seem good allowing for the limited thermal protection. However. shooting. the need to feel the rifle.

and operate the action etc means its a balance and a compromise. Too thick a glove and you loose tactile functionality. So ai am happy to recommend this glove as long as you allow for ultra cold conditions.

If I was high seating and sitting elevated in a sea exposed to wind then you need to consider an additioanal layer of thermal protection. Good product well made from a respected brand at a decent price.

Additional items would lessen the £ damage postage has for a single item.

Very impressed with the gloves warmth and water proofing. The dexterity is good. The sizing is a bit odd but it was to be expected by reading reviews before I bought. Only thing I’d change is to make it smartphone compatible! I ended up buying a pair of the cold weather gloves with fusion control as well.

It is smart phone capable but they don’t come in green which I liked the look of more.

I am normally a women’s glove size L in the Outdoor Research brand, but I am happy that I ordered the medium after reading reviews that the gloves run a tad bit small. They fit just right. I have Reynaud’s syndrome and these mitts are great for keeping my hands warm on walks and hikes in moderately cold temperatures (to -5 C), but I am sure my fingers will still freeze at -20 C (but no opportunity to test yet).

For that kind of warmth I will need to invest in heated mittens. However, these Alti mitts are far warmer than the insulated Outdoor Research gloves that I have been using. I appreciate that both the shell and liner of the Alti mitt are insulated, and that the liner is removable.

Although doing that leaves an annoying patch of exposed Velcro where the liner attaches. The liner has a pouch for hand warmers but I’ve not used it yet. I anticipated these mitts being super bulky but they’re not actually a huge as I was expecting.

I really like the long gauntlet, which extends quite far up my arm, keeping cold air out. The cinching mechanism is also nice and can be done with the mittens on. The materials are high quality and I appreciate the waterproof fabric.

Over the years as a family we have collected a wide range of outdoor research mittens. We live in Northern Ontario (7 hours north of Toronto) and over this past week we have had weather between -30 to -40C.

We refuse to let the weather or the cold keep up indoors! We snowboard, snowshoe, xc ski, hike and backpack in all the conditions. I bought these mitts for my partner for xmas and bought my son a new pair of Carbide sensor.

The Alti are by far the warmest pair of mitts we have out of all! The Arcade are warm and less bulky but do not have an inner removal layer. After reading the reviews I was prepared to sacrifice the bulkiness for the warmth and wasn’t disappointed! The inner shell is very warm and I imagine with time the fleece will compact and make the mitt larger, but I would rather have them a bit larger then to small because if they are to small you won’t keep your hands warm.

We haven’t been able to do the true test of spending a day out snowboarding but I very confident these mitts won’t disappoint! We are constantly exchanging mittens with my partner as the other pairs of OR mittens can’t even compare to the warmth of these ones.

I am ordering two more pairs for us to wear on those colder days! The lanyard that is attached is good to loop them around your wrist when your hands have finally warmed up. As I mentioned we have quite the collection of OR mittens and have found that you really need to buy the pair that will suit your needs.

If you are just looking to keep your hands as warm as possible then these are the ones to go to, They will allow you to grip a pair of poles and you can fit a dog leash over them but if you are going to be required to pick up things or work outside then the meteor are a good option instead but not as warm.

I have Alti gloves from 2010 in size XL and I loved their fit and they have held up great through skiing, ice climbing, mountaineering, snow blowing, shoveling and everything winter brings. As my fingers started to wear through on the old gloves I decided it was time for new ones.

I loved the Alti gloves so much and I wanted to get another pair. I came here to read some reviews and saw a lot of sizing issues. Looking at the pictures, I had some concerns regarding the guantlet sizing since it looked a lot smaller.

I then decided to call OR customer service and asked about the glove sizing and guantlet. I was assured the gauntlet was still large, just like my alti gloves from 2010. I asked about the reviews regarding finger length.

I was told they are “pre curved” and it give the impression that the fingers are shorter, but not everyone feels that way. So. I bought the current version of the Alti Gloves in size XL from one of OR’s dealers.

They arrived and what a disappointment. The fingers do indeed feel very short and the new glove does not even come close to the sizing of the older model. The fingers do indeed feel short. The guantlet sizing is a huge disappointment too.

I almost always wear my gauntlets over my jacket. Unfortunately, it barely fits over my down sweater jacket. I regularly use a belay parka like an Absolute Zero parka and I have to work to tuck the jacket into the gauntlets, then it compresses that part of the jacket.

It’s just not acceptable for a pair of gloves of this caliper and what I think their intended use is. I’m attaching some images showing the difference in overall glove length and guantlet width. The guantlet is about 1.

5″ narrower in the new glove and the overall length is about 1. 25″ shorter, even with the “curved” fingers flattened out. Do yourself a favor and try these on somewhere before you just decide to buy them and assume they will fit well.

OR, please reconsider the design of these gloves!.

Sized to fit over liners, these are an excellent midweight option for a mountaineering, scrambling, or ice climbing setup. They’re quite weather-resistant (not waterproof, that’s not the point), warm when wet, super dexterous, and the touchscreen functionality works well.

They’re super light as well. Only knock against them are lack of a loop to clip them on a harness (like OR has). With a pair of liners and some mittens you can tackle anything in North America.

I bought these for cross-country skiing. They are unisex sizing, so check out the size chart. The XS fit me great, I’m usually a small in women’s gloves. They are a bit warm for the uphills and I find myself reaching for a lighter glove during more strenuous exertion.

I’ve only tried these in good conditions (sunny, clear, around 30F). They were great on the decent and the mitten covers came in handy when the wind picked up. The touch screen feature is really clunky and doesn’t work well.

These are lightweight, so I’m a little concerned about durability as the material is thin. Overall, they’re a good addition to my glove lineup, I usually carry multiple pairs anyway.

For me at least, these gloves fit pretty well. For a better fit, I sized down; at least compared to the size I more commonly end up using for other brands of gloves I’ve bought. But looking beyond just the names of the sizes, the size chart measurements appear to be accurate for these gloves.

Aside from being as warm as expected, overall these gloves feel well made and comfortable. I also appreciate having some reflective detail (i. e. the logo) on these otherwise dark-coloured gloves.

I have somewhat big hands, and ordered a medium (assumed it was in mens sizing). The thumb is a little long, but otherwise they fit great. I bought these for backcountry skiing and cold biking. So far I’ve used them biking in ~35-40 degree temps and they were very comfortable.

I was impressed by their touch screen capabilities. It was like using my bare finger. When I took them out of the box, I was surprised by the material, and that it was supposed to be waterproof. I still haven’t tested that, but so far they seem super durable.

They also have long ends that more than adequately cover your wrists. I’m looking forward to seeing how these do skiing, preventing snow from getting up my jacket. Edit since using in the snow: These are very waterproof! Great for warm weather skiing and convenient to throw in my pack as an afternoon glove after a cold morning start.

Being still summer I have yet to find out how effective the gloves are. However, I have some concerns with their fitting. I have wide palms with short fingers. I have no complaints as regards the glove finger being over long – that is my anatomy.

But this pair (the third pair I tried, this is the XL size) is still tight around the thumb and palm area. I suspect the manufacturer uses a slim hand as their model (do we in the UK have wider palms than the Chinese?).

I will keep the gloves anyway because pairs of fingers will be warmer than single fingers.

The overall quality of the gloves was very impressive but like other reviewers I found them a tight fit requiring a considerable amount of tugging to get them on. Fortunately the top quality stitching appears to be able to cope with this tugging.

I thought it strange for the gloves to be such a tight fit & to be supplied with a Velcro cuff strap (but what do I know). The cuff straps have no velcro free end tag so can be tricky to peel off with a gloved hand.

Once on, the fit, (as per recommendations) was good apart from the left hand thumb fit which was tight. The insulation was not really satisfactory for any sub zero temperatures, especially around my left thumb (both thumbs are similar in size).

Waterproof performance was good. I liked the length of the glove which prevented cold drafts around the upper wrist. Reviewer: 60+, all weather dog walker. PS. Advertised with union flag but made in China.

Keep in mind I’m very partial to gauntlet gloves, not a mitten person. I got these gloves and thought they were perfect. I love the color, they have goretex, they have primaloft, you can touch your phone to turn down phone calls/alarms on the mountain without taking them off- what more could you need? I also appreciate the clip for keeping them connected so they don’t get separated in my pack.

The loop at the bottom of them make them so so easy to pull up over your jacket cuff, ultimate necessary gauntlet feature. Unfortunately for me, my hands are too small. I had a good inch of space at the end of my fingers and would probably struggle to grab anything.

I ordered the smalls but sent them back without trying them at a resort. My hand from start of palm to tip of middle finger is 6. 5inches, and the circumference around my palm is 7inches. I followed the mountain headwear size chart for women’s glove, but it just was a little bit too big for me.

I would totally buy them in XS if it were an option, but it’s not so I went with Burtons goretex gloves in a women’s small and scored a deal (I recommend getting them on sale or with a coupon).

For reference, I walk in NYC in the am and my walk is just about one hour. On the coldest days, my finger tips start getting cold at the 45 min mark. That is great compared to other gloves i have tried.

The navy is a beautiful color, great features like the big loop to help pull up the gloves and the tethers that allow you to take off the gloves and let them hang by your side. You dont have to use them, but its a great feature.

I hate snow and cold, but i think if i did ski or snowboard, these gloves would be exceptional. good protection, and long up the sleeves to keep the snow out and tuck under the wrists of a coat. I think its thickness makes movement limited, but its an acceptable trade off.

If you want more flexibility, you will end up with gloves that will be colder. If you want warmer, you will need to go to similar high performance mittens or heated gloves.

I have been skiing, hiking, outdoor living for more than 45 years. I have owned dozens of gloves, mittens, and glove liners. I gave up years ago believing expensive gloves were no better than less expensive gloves with a liner.

And I truly believed warmth and dexterity were not possible. These gloves have proved me wrong. I wear them for back country and have used these in very harsh conditions. Very high winds (60 mph) with temperatures in the low 20?s.

Never had a hint of being cold, they wicked away moisture, and I could actually use my hands without having to take my gloves off. The leashes are also fantastic, especially in high wind. Zippers and buckles are easy to adjust while wearing gloves.

Great gloves!.

Hoped for a higher percentage of insulation in the gloves, but if I had that much I probably wouldn’t be able to moves my hands wearing them. They look and feel as good as the best name brand gloves that I have.

Hope they’ll last like those other brands.

I used these gloves on a recent early season archery hunt for elk. They worked perfectly to keep my hands warm as I glassed for elk early in the day. While the XL fit me fine, I was surprised to find the fit was a bit different between gloves sporting the Optifade Subalpine fabric verse those with Optifade Open Country.

I tired on several pair of both camo pattern at the Sitka store in Bozeman to confirm there wasn’t a problem with one pair. nope, the gloves with Optifade Subalpine were slightly smaller. While all my other Sitka gear is Optifade Subalpine, I am not the owner of a pair of these gloves in Open Country.

I guess that would be considered a fasion faux pas anywhere else besides elk camp!.

Do you have abnormally long fingers? No need to worry with this glove. I ended up sizing down to a medium which fits snug and the fingers are only slightly longer. Forget the sizing guides and what you wear from other manufacturers and try these on first.

Now for the good. You can move in these. I mean easy and precise finger movement. Not waterproof, but i ran them under a faucet and dunked in a bucket. I’m guessing it’s the seams but it took a lot before my hands got wet.

It’s winter so I’m trying to see how they do in the cold. They aren’t a thick, heavy, insulated glove so keeping expectations in check.

I don’t want to be mean but for what I paid for these gloves and to have my hands freeze this past season, it’s hard not to. Absolute trash for 30 degree weather or below. I’m not even talking wet. I went duck hunting in the upper 20’s to mid teens one morning and my hands froze.

Then thought they would warm up after the hunt as I picked up downed ducks from kayak doing serious paddling. They claim to be waterproof, but NOT SO!!! How Sitka can get away with false advertising, I don’t know.

Bought some drake gloves this summer cant wait to use this season. Anything is better.

One of the best gloves ever bought. Fits well but is slightly closer to a smaller fit. If one wants to have a tiny bit of room around their fingers, maybe choose one size larger instead. They kept my hands nice and warm in minus 10 degrees without any trouble.

Sure could work just fine in even colder weather. Haven’t had these for that long of a time, but guess they will age just fine considering the long lasting durable quality. Lastly, as it has enough insulated stuffing in the shell, the maneuverability of the fingers and palm is compromised.

Someone who wants to stay nice and warm, and also wants the option to keep a free motion of their fingers may wants to go with some other option.

As a ski instructor I have gone through many pairs of gloves. Purchased these this season for free skiing and instructing. Functionality is awesome, cuff length means they’re easy to get on and off. Elastic leash so they don’t fall off the chair.

I’ve used in temps below 20, winds blowing 30mph, wind chills in the single digits and they kept my hands super warm. The Omni-Heat and Sherpa lining is an awesome combo for warmth, and the goat leather is perfect for durability!.

Very nice looking, warm, functional gloves. I ordered a size medium and they fit perfectly. However, in other gloves I order size small and they fit perfectly. I would highly recommend these gloves if you are okay with the price point.

They are built to last and are excellent in below freezing temperatures. I am pleased with my purchase and I would definitely recommend these gloves.

These mittens are good, albeit not very well suited to the PNW, where I snowboard. They’ve held up really well, considering the abuse I’ve put them through. They’re extraordinarily warm. Sometimes juuuust a bit to warm, sometimes causing my hands to get sweaty, which is also a result of them not being very breathable.

In wetter conditions you will get wet, after enough times falling and planting your hands in the snow. The removeable touchscreen-compatible liners are great, stopping your hands from getting too cold when you briefly remove the mittens to unzip your pockets or switch up your tunes.

You can also remove them and dry them out, as they absorb most of the sweat from your hands. Overall, I think they’re well suited to drier conditions, keep in mind these aren’t leather or Gore-Tex, so you will get wet eventually.

They are well made, they haven’t fallen apart yet, and I like the little touches like the soft backside of the thumb for wiping your nose, and the goggle wipe on the other thumb.

These check all the boxes for me from the description, but the performance lacked. The biggest flaw was that they are not waterproof. Being an east coast skier the weather changes often and I find myself in rain, these unfortunately did not withstand more then an hr before I found my hands getting damp even with the liners.

The second biggest flaw is the dexterity. The thumb feels tighter for some reason and is hard to even grip my poles. I sent back the first pair I got and sized up which helped a little but it was still stiff.

Other then those two gripes I love everything about them: Back pockets for warmers/pass, liners are awesome and touch screen capable (however the liners pile really quickly) Goggle Lens wiper, soft fabric for wiping nose, wrist straps etc are all great.

Here in Northern California we are getting our first icy rains and freezing snows, causing flooding and plugged water drains. Getting ready to unplug the drains, I suddenly remembered my Glacier Decoy Gloves, tucked away all Summer.

They were terrific, my hands remained dry and warm. The descriptions of the long-sleeved Decoy gloves and the shorter Glacier Gloves are the same: 2mm, fleece lined neoprene, so I cannot understand the very negative reviews of the shorter ones, but obviously, customers are unhappy enough to return them.

I would strongly recommend the Glacier Decoy Gloves, but it looks like all the sizes except XXL are sold out. So happy I got mine last year! It is just the end of January and all across the northern USA, it is, and will continue to be, very cold for some more months; maybe LLBean will restock them.

I purchased these gloves not for the traditional purpose of using decoys. After having a couple bad experiences with car washes I now hand wash my vehicles. These gloves allow me to wash vehicles in temperatures down to 35 degrees comfortably.

Below 35 degrees the wash water may freeze to my vehicle but my hands stay dry and warm with these gloves on. With all the chemicals they use to treat roads in the winter it is important to wash the vehicles often in cold weather.

They could be a bit warmer, but they’ll keep you dry all winter long. I guess if they were warmer they’d be thicker and less flexible. I have my hands in icy water (backyard ice rink) often, so the added warmth would be nice, but these are still great.

Great gloves arrived quickly. I ordered the XL size because I often find gloves a bit tight on the fingers which cuts down circulation And makes my fingers cold. So these fit ok but fingers are ever so slightly tight but the palm and back of the hand are a little baggy.

I have been on a few cycle rides in the cold and wet and they have performed well, although I stopped a couple of times and took them off to ensure good circulation to my fingers. If you have slim hands these would be a great buy.

The XL size is what I needed and it fit perfectly. Warm and dry it keeps its promises. It’s a pity that in this size/model the “touch” feature was not implemented, I have another L size that has it. But being warm is the primary need.

After a deep dive in researching ski gloves on several websites, I took the plunge and purchased the Gauntlet GTX Gloves 2. 0 in size L. They had the features that I wanted at a good price point. I also like to support REI when possible.

I would say that overall they are well constructed and quite warm and comfortable. The fit seems accurate. I used them on a recent ski trip to CO with temps ranging from 0-35 degrees. Over 30 degrees, they get warm and I kept taking them off in the lift lines to let my hands cool off.

I cannot speak for temps below 0. The only real negative of the gloves is the thickness. They are really wide and padded. Fingers are really thick. This made it difficult to get my hand in and out of the ski straps and also get a solid grip on the poles.

It took a little effort to close my grip, more than I would have thought. I like the gloves, but will probably look for another brand for more dexterity and keep these as a backup for the coldest of days.

On initial unboxing of the REI Co-op Switchback GTX Glove 2. 0 I was super pumped to discover that the liners, pardon the expression, fit like a glove. I’m a short woman with even smaller hands and feet.

Finding gloves that fit is always a problem. The liners, in their very attractive cerulean blue, are wonderful. Tight fitting, responsive e-tips on the pointer finger and thumb, just a touch of elastic at the wrist and just long enough of a gauntlet to prevent a draft.

The liners are A+. Unfortunately, for how well the liners the fit, the shells were just too large. Pulled on all the way with the finger webs tight against my hands, there was still almost half an inch of glove finger material left on each one of my digits.

In order for a glove to be warm and stay that way, you can’t afford to have any extra space at the tips. That just leaves you open to holding cold air against your poor fingers and that’s exactly what these do.

The waterproofness is fair for an insulated snow glove. But I’m not sure how well it would hold up to a full ski day in Cascade concrete snow. (but really, does any glove hold up to that?) Snow with that kind of moisture content is like dipping your hands into buckets of ice water repeatedly for eight hours.

The soft nose wipe on the thumb is indeed soft but seems to be a weak point for letting in some water. My thumb felt a little dampish a lot sooner than the rest of my hand. That said the back of the glove sheds water like a champ and the grippy palm held my ski poles well.

The strap at the wrist opens and closes well while wearing the gloves as do the drawcords at the top of the gauntlet. A great surprise, and maybe I’m just a dinosaur here and not up with current technology, was the e-tip on the shell! I’ve never had an outer glove with that as a feature.

Seems like a great idea to me. One glaring thing for me that was not included in this glove is the dummy straps/wrist cords. You know, the ones that you can put around your wrists that prevent the glove from taking a dive off a ski lift if you have removed them to go for a snack or your phone.

As someone who is always removing gloves for one reason or another, these are a must for me. Looks like there is a little tie down inside each glove that might be for optional wrist cords? I dunno, but I wish they came with them.

Overall, I think this is a well made glove. Not as waterproof as some but not as sieve-like as others. The killer for me is that they just don’t fit my hands. BUT, my hands are very small, so take that with a grain of salt.

I like the generous gauntlet and the two straps for adjusting it to the right size. It seems like this will be great at keeping the wind out. The faux-leather on the palm and palm-side of the fingers and thumbs looks like it will be good for grip and for keeping snow from melting into my gloves.

I’m not sure what the little triangle loop inside the gauntlet is for — am I supposed to put my keys inside my glove? Oh, or maybe it’s for hanging them up? As far as fit, the wrist size and the width of the hand and fingers feel comfortable, but the fingers are all about half an inch too long for my actual fingers.

That’s pretty much always my experience with gloves, though, so this is probably a pretty standard size. The fabric inside is soft and comfortable. But the lack of a removable liner gives me pause. When I’m skiing or snowshoeing, my hands sweat a LOT, so I like to be able to take the liners out of my gloves and wash them.

The washing directions on these gloves say “Wipe clean with a damp cloth”, which doesn’t seem applicable to getting the insides sweaty, so I’m not sure how I’m meant to keep them from getting stinky.

That said, these seem like an all around great glove for spending time outside when it’s very cold and windy, as long as I’m not going to be sweating profusely.

I purchased a new pair of these gloves to replace a worn out pair of the same model. This is the 4th pair of these I have owned over the years and they are not the same as before. They resemble a cheap knockoff of what was a good quality glove.

The pair aren’t even the same size due to cheap stitching. They both say “large” but clearly one is closer to a medium. These were always a good deal because the quality was there but spend the extra money with a reputable brand at this point.

The leather doesn’t come around the fingers anymore either. I work at 10000′ and depend on good equipment during the winter. The pinnacle gloves no longer fit that bill. Maybe change the name to something more on target like “second rate sell out gloves”.

I purchased these gloves about 5 years ago and the leather was wearing out. They were great. I ordered another pair in January 2020 and assumed the same size M would fit. When I received them, they were tooo small.

I returned them and ordered a Large thinking this would do it. Even the Large was snug. In addition, the changed the lining in the newer gloves and it makes it harder to get your hands into them, especially if they are damp.

The exterior was nice however. I don’t like the newer style for the reasons mentioned above and I would advise against it. They should have left the design alone but I suspect they thought that if they made them smaller and cheapened the lining, they could save some money.

This is my second pair of Pinnacle gloves. My first pair lasted 8 years and actually still in pretty good shape just lost some of the loft and not quite as warm as they used to be. I use them snowmobiling in Wyoming at 9000 to 11,000 feet elevation and rarely get cold in these.

A couple times when it was below zero my hands got cold. They are extremely waterproof, I havent ever had them get wet on the inside.

I bought these during lockdown as Ive been walking loads and my hands have suffered. Not the warmest gloves but comfy and do the job except when the weather is sub zero. Worth the money.

Love these gloves. Lightweight and warm with use of liners.

Great product, but keep in mind that XL gloves are huge, needed L size for my dad who wears Size XL jackets from Maintain warehouse

Bought to replace a pair of Mizuno Breath Thermo gloves which were made from a fabric that generates some heat as you sweat. It does work, but the fabric no longer seems to be available. I saw these which operate on the principle that the fabric reflects heat back into the hand.

Does it work? Yes to some extent and my hands did seem slightly warmer. They are also a good fit. However, they are thicker than other lightweight gloves and have quite obtrusive seams on the inside although really only noticeable when you first put them on.

I also find the smartphone-friendly fingertips annoying and superfluous, but then I wear them for running and not looking at my phone. They are also quite expensive. So in summary, I did like them but there were a few niggles that stopped me from giving them top rating.

Lovely soft gloves with excellent fit. Work well alone on cool days and also as an under-glove if, like me, you suffer from poor circulation on cold days. They are also the only ones I have used (I have Head and North Face) which ACTUALLY WORK on PHONES/TABLETS.

Great thermal insulation. Excellent for sub-zero temperatures.Good fit and comfortable. You can also use it for other activities in cold and windy winter.

This is terrible dishonest product presentation: nowhere on the immediate web description does it say that these are gloves in a mitten outer shell. You have to click on the + details to get that info – which I did not, because who suspects that a mitten is really a glove? It would have been very easy for North Face to simply write in plain sight that these are gloves inside mitten shells; then I would have not bought them.

The entire point of mittens for me is that my fingers retain body heat. Second, these mediums were too small; my hands were wrapped like a mummy. In every pair of mittens and gloves that I own – Dakine, outdoor research, EMS, Burton – I am a medium.

These mediums were bone strangling. Finally, North Face ships in a ton of plastic: inner plastic bag in a huge outer plastic bag. I expected better environmental effort from them.

Okay so I don’t usually leave bad reviews. I just don’t and I wanted so so badly to love these gloves. I bought the medium in sage green and was so excited to use them skiing. However the first chance I got to use them ended pretty poorly.

They didn’t keep my fingers all that warm even though it was a warm day. Yet I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt I really wanted to like them. Second time I wore them was this weekend back on the slopes….

and I have never hated a pair of gloves more than these. I don’t know how it is even possible but wearing these was worse than not wearing ANY gloves outside. On a mountain. In Vermont. In January!?!!? Like what?!? I started crying I was in so much pain they weren’t even tight on me, but somehow took away any warmth I had in my fingers until I could no longer hold my poles.

It was crazy. As soon as I took them off it was already better. I repeat NOT wearing them on a mountain during a VT winter was better. I ended up wearing a cheap pair of gloves my partner had and those were perfectly fine.

I am honestly in shock. I can’t believe I spent as much as I did on these. I don’t know if I will ever even want to wear them again. It was that painful to wear these.

I got a pair very similar to these a couple years ago for Christmas. let me tell you, I LOVE them so much. I wanted to get my sister a pair too cause she’s always borrowing mine and there were a few similar ones on the site.

Unfortunately these ones are not as quite as great as my other ones but very good nonetheless. She took them downhill skiing and never once complained about her hands being cold. I was in $130 expensive ski gloves and still got a bit cold.

Do I think hers were better than the nice ski gloves? No. But I do think they did an excellent job keeping her warm. The straps that go around your wrists are great if you’re constantly taking them on and off (like I am in the barn).

They’re also double layered so the inside is a nice cozy gloveish thing but it’s thin enough to let your hand/fingers spreading heat to one another. Outside of this is a nice wind proof, waterproof mitten layer keeping everything together.

I also have a pair of gloves made out of the same materials and they’re nothing like the mittens. I’ll never be going back to gloves after using mittens. Especially these ones or the other, thicker ones on the site.

Michigan winters SUCK and these are wonderful.
