20 Best Waterproof Pants Womens (2022 Updated)

I bought these for a tundra trekking. We were expecting a mix of heavy rain, strong winds, snow, ice and on top of that: Walking in 2 ft of water-filled moss. Well, we got exactly what we expected. Add to this walking through dense bushes in areas where there was no trail and surely no man had ever walked, there was a big challenge in sight for the Loke pants.

Starting the first morning of these 5 days of hiking, I wore these all day and evening long and not a moment did I think to take them away. They are perfectly waterproof, that was made clearly walking up a stream for 5 hours our first day.

Their ability to block wind was also much appreciated, as Tundra is devoid of trees we were exposed to continuous, blasting winds. These pants are breathable, at least partly. 2. 5 ply isn’t 3 ply and the absence of side zips was dearly missed during high output activities where my inner pants would be soaked by perspiration.

While these look frail and weak, they are surprisingly tough. Bushes, rocks, branches. Many times I looked down expecting to find these ripped apart but they sustained the trip well. They may not be bullet proof but for the price, you Need these pants.

I was trying to avoid having to buy snow pants since I’m new to the very cold winters here in Alaska but figured I could save money and hassle by buying these pants to put over my clothes etc. but it was just a waste and since I also bought a jacket for my daughter and paid double what I would have because I didn’t want to take chances and found the jacket although pretty and Easy pack was a waste too, now I’m not sure what type of clothing this brand is for.

Maybe mild unpredictable weather. Either way although pretty items I don’t trust.

These plants were thinner than expected and I never got a chance to find out how they performed in wet conditions. I am not tall and these pants barely came to my ankles. I gave them away to someone even shorted than me because it was easier than sending them back.

I suspect that all these HH products were seconds as the jacket didn’t fit right either.

Purchased at 12 and 14 size of these trousers to help with mine and my friends lockdown lovehandles. The trousers fit well (I’m and apple shape and my friend a pear shape) the length is perfect (I’m 5ft.

6inch). I wear them every day for walking , the material is soft and the loose fit gives me flexibility i need for walking over various terrains. I love the purple and teal colours, very vibrant. Much more enjoyable to wear than beige or grey.

I frequently get dirt on the trousers which wipes off when dry or comes out in the wash with no discolouring yet. The pockets come with ties on the zips which makes opening them easy but they are discrete unlike other walking trousers I own.

Love these trousers. Lightweight enough for summer walking, comfortable and water repellant enough to keep my legs dry whilst trudging around in the West Yorkshire Pennines in the rain this week. My only gripe – the fit on these is not perfect for me as they have a slight ‘saddle bag’ allowance in the thigh, ie there is room for women who accumulate their weight on their outer thighs.

On me this means the trousers are a baggy fit in that area. Otherwise very happy. Agree with other reviewers on the internet that these are a generous fit and I might be wishing I got a smaller size if I lose a couple of kilos (as hoping to do).

I’m really pleased with my Craghoppers Kiwi Pro stretch trousers in grey. Super value for money. Very comfortable, lightweight & practical for walking. Better for warmer weather. I have the heavier weight in black for winter.

I bought in the longer length as I have 33″ leg & they fit perfectly. Recommended.

I originally found these pants on sale through another retailer but in the wrong size. Despite them being too small, I loved them so much I was determined to find them in the correct size, even if full price.

They sit pretty high and are snug around the waist and bum, hence why I sized up. But they are a great length, really lightweight, and comfortable. The zips at the bottom are great for slipping them on/off over boots.

I haven’t had a chance to really exert myself in them yet, so can’t speak to breathability.

I love these hiking/camping trousers. They are so versatile for turning them into shorts when the sun comes out and great for when it rains you can zip them back on (and they are colour coded). Very breathable and they come with a built-in belt! They are hardy and won’t fail you.

until you put on a few extra pounds! Like my title says, they are not stretchy which I find quite important now I have a pair of North Face stretchy ones. The stretchy ones are super comfortable, kinda like leggings for men, and great for unexpected climbs during hikes.

These are the second pair of these pants I have bought. the first ones were purchased in 2015 and were getting a bit old so I bought these ones. The material is a bit more flexible than the previous version and they are bit shorter (perfect for me as I am 5’6” and the Small is perfect).

I use them almost everyday while walking my dog. They are wind resistant so I just need to wear a pair of jogging pants under even in the winter and I don’t get cold. Overall a great pair of pants if you are looking to something that is wind / water resistant.

I had high hopes for these when they arrived. They seemed sturdy and felt thick enough that you could wear them on their own and you’d be warm enough. However my excitement was short-lived. I’ve bought from Trespass before so went with a small, my usual size.

I wear a UK 10. I couldn’t get these past my mid thighs. I measured the waistband. Unstretched it was 12 inches, and stretched it measured a tiny 17 inches!!!! For a ladies size 10! Utterly ridiculous, no adult woman is that tiny.

I’ve sent them back for a return as faulty as there is surely no way all of them are cut this small. Very disappointed, I won’t be bothering to re order them in a larger size.

I love these, I had another pair my correct body size but for the job I needed them for, they eventually, 2 years later, ripped at the bum but I was crawling around on hands and knees gardening a lot! I splashed out but this time went for a size larger than my natural size, after all these go over my work trousers, and they are perfect.

Benefits are wide legs so you can pull them on over your boots then Velcro them snug plus they allow access to your trousers pockets under nether. The material is thick enough to be substantial and dry but thin enough to allow flexibility.

They keep you dry and look neat too!.

Good waterproof trousers for the price. Material is lightweight and windproof, stands up to heavy rain well. Only downside I found was that to be honest, even the size XS is too large for me and quite baggy in the legs, but not a big problem since the practical requirements in terms of staying dry without being too heavy are met.

Waistband is at least elasticated and adjustable, so even if they’re too big, they don’t fall off.

Firstly, I live in one of the rainiest places in North America, work outside, am in SAR, and spend much of my free time outdoors. So good rain pants are key. These are to replace my trusty Woods pair I’d had forever.

First time with OR pants. Not sure what everyone was complaining about for fit? I’m 5’7″, 140lbs, and 29″ waist, and a medium fit perfectly. They’re fitted but with space still to layer underneath or to tuck your boots inside of in heavy downpours.

I think maybe everyone was expecting joggers or skinny pants or something but these fit like every other pair of rain pants I’ve ever had? Haven’t used outside yet, but will update once I’ve done that!.

This is the 2nd time I’ve bought these rain pants. I bought them in 2016, in a medium and they fit well and worked. I recently bought a new pair and am not happy at all. Pros: – fabric in theory is good quality Gortex – venting on sides is a nice feature – lightweight emergency layer CONS: – there are no belt loops or other ways to reinforce the fit on the waist – the fit is off, the lower leg and ankle area are huge – lack of front pockets – there is a tiny plastic widget that adjusts an elastic cord to cinch around your hips, its doesn’t stay closed after cinching and therefore the pants don’t stay put around your hips and ride down, leaving you uncomfortable, exposed, and cursing as you try to pull these pants up constantly doing (insert your fun activity here).

After 3 days of testing these, I stopped packing them.

If you don’t have muscular glutes, these pants are for you! I ordered these and was so excited to get a great pair lightweight rain pants for hiking. These are absolutely that. They’re lightweight, easy to pull on over boots, and I really liked the zippers up the legs.

I’m rating them 3 stars because they did not fit me at all. Judging by the size guide, I ordered an XL. The pants were enormous – giant waist, super baggy legs, and several inches too long to wear. I returned them for an L.

The L was excellent in the length and the legs but was crazy tight across my butt.

I’d give these less than one star if I could. The quality is absolutely abysmal for the price. I wore these for about a month and a half on rainy days for my very short (10km) bike commute. Today I got to work and found a massive tear across the seat of the pants (not the seam, but the actual fabric of the pant).

I have NEVER fallen off my bike while wearing these pants, the tear simply happened when I was riding. In my opinion it is absolutely unacceptable to charge such a high price for something of such poor quality.

Please search elsewhere and do not waste your money. I could not possibly recommend these less.

I purchased these but haven’t had a chance to use them yet. Apparently I need to put in a review to enter into the sweepstakes. So I will tell you my 1st impressions. They are well constructed pants.

They are fairly light weight but the fabric used feels substantial. My intended use for these are for backpacking. And I’ve heard other complaints that there is no draw string or belt on these just elastic.

That does in fact seem to be the case but I have yet to find out whether or not this has a major effect on whether or not they will stay up while backpacking.

These pants seemed great. until I walked or moved in them. As soon as I took a step, I could feel the back waistband pulling down. If I crouched, I could feel the whole “plumber crack” thing happening.

These aren’t cut right. I’m 5’6″, 125lbs, athletic and got the medium which was the right size. The “articulated knees for improved mobility” are great, but they need to “articulated” the rear end or cut it differently so there’s some flex for when you walk/move.

Other than cut, they seemed like awesomely made pants. I’m really bummed the cut wasn’t better. had to return them.

With a very wet May behind us these were a real blessing and no mistake. Going out all weathers 4 or 5 times a day to exercise a Jack Russell can be challenging. These kept me dry, the wind out to and once off back home dried quickly to.

Breathable, so may worn for extended intervals comfortably. Highly recommended.

Water proof ? the proof is in the rain and Yes they are !! My only gripe with all of these water proof pants is that you heat up fast. I usually wear them over a pair of underpants or shorts. Especially if your actively cycling or hiking you quickly become over heated.

I didn’t think I’d be using these as soon as I have after buying them in a heatwave, but this is England! The waist could do with a pull cord to get them cosy, but the size is as stated and they do fit well without a lot of adjusting.

The material is easy to wear and fold when not in use, so they are in my golf bag without the need for a lot of space to stow them. A great pair of leggings and a superb price. I’m well chuffed.

I think the 38s run a tad big for what an American would consider a size 8 equivalent; The waistband also has a portion on each side that is elastic for stretching. I decided to exchange for the 36. The material is great.

The zip off portion doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb and make them ugly as pants. I very much look fwd to getting my hands on the 36s.

These are my go to pants for hiking and working around the house and garden. Bending, crouching, kneeling and these pants stay up and move with me whether in the garden or on the trail.

Super light weight pants, no movement restrictions with wind $ light rain protection.

I live on the west coast of Canada and use my bike for bothe weekend fun and a commuter. I contemplated buying the Frog Toggs for a while originally thinking they were going to be cheap and not hold together.

I’ve had about 30 days of rain riding in these and they have held up to all I’ve thrown at them from the road to the trail. They are a loose fit and are perfect to go over my riding gear. The material isn’t to easy to clean and feels stiff at first but will soften up after use.

They are a bit bulky when it comes time to stow them away compared to some of the others but ill trade that for the lower price. I’ve noticed my riding buddies who wear the more expensive brands tend not to wear theirs when the road turns challenging mainly for the fact they paid twice as much and are afraid to ruin them.

Frogg Toggs are comfortable and good for a light rain or spray when crossing rough water in a boat but certainly not great rain gear. The fabric wears out very quick and shows much wear even after the first use.

I buy it and use it for it is quick to put on and comfortable but not a great product by any means! As long as it has been around you would think it would improve but it has not —and will not as long as people like me shell out good money for a poor quality product.

Just my two cents worth! Oh–the warranty on it is useless so don’t even try to go that route.

I bought this item for my dad because most waterproof products were too baggy or had the bib attached. This product was easy to pull over his trousers, fit snuggly enough but still had easy of movement.

He liked he could fit it comfortably using the velcro arround the ankles and the draw string at the top. The fabric felt durable enough to withstand rough treatment.

I was taught as a kid that if you keep your hands, feet and head warm, the rest of you will stay warm. Never much paid heed to my legs/butt. These pants are very warm and what a difference when sitting in one place for 3-4 hours at 30 degrees.

They are soft/flexible and quiet when walking. I believe the sizing is true to size. I wear a 34″ waist and these fit just a little loose, allowing me to tuck in heavy shirt layers. The legs are a bit too long with street shoes, but just right with large hunting boots.

Only two pockets (with zipper closures) — wish they had two more cargo pockets. Strongly recommended.

I’m on a budget during this Covid situation. Moneys tight. Needed the upgrade this deer season to get more time out in the field. I’m a thin guy and get chilled quick. With a base layer and jeans under these pants on a snowy 20 degree day, I was able to stay in stand for 5 hrs with minimum movement.

Overall they are quiet, warm and windproof. More zip pockets would be nice, but can’t complain with the price.

The pants are quality made they are about 4 inches longer than my size. I’m a 34-30 pants size the waist is perfect but the length is too long. I will try rolling the waist down hoping it solves the problem.

That’s the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

Not the same as the last pair I had. Advertised with drawstring but didn’t have one.

Good quality Ladies waterproof trousers. Does what it says in the description and would recommend these as good value and excellent product

I ordered these rain pants which goes with the rain jacket that I also ordered for my husband. They are just as they are described on the web site. Even though my husband has not had a chance to use them yet he is very please with them.

They seem to be very well made. They have a long zipper with a gusset on the side of the legs so it is easier to put on over your boots. Also has an elastic strap to go under your boots to hold the pant leg down.

The only con is they are over sized just like the jacket is. But that is to accommodate other riding gear such as leather pants or chaps. I ordered my husband a size medium which he normally wears and they were huge on him.

I had to send them back and ordered a size x small which fits him a lot better. I personally think they are sized too big even for wearing over other clothing. But over all I would definitely recommend them to any biker who needs good rain pants.

These are great rain pants, well made and light, fold or roll into a small package, but impossible to get on over boots with lug soles. My boots snag all the way down through the pant leg, and the only solution is to keep plastic garbage bags on the bike to put over my legs first.

Not happy with that.

I got caught in a down pour this past week end and the pants preformed as promised. I did not get wet at all. You do have to take off your boots to put them on. They get caught up in the liner. But that is a small price to pay for pants that will keep you dry.

Pros: The material is high quality semi-rugged feel and the waist adjustment design is really great. Cons: poor cut and fit. I have no idea why shell pants are made ridiculously large in the leg diameter especially below the knee.

So the waist is good, but the legs are awful. With gaiters on it looks like you are a Canadian Mountie. And all that extra material makes the pants loud and uncomfortable to feel like you can’t move freely in the mountains.

Pants did the job for climbing Cotopaxi – kept me dry and warm, protected from the wind. However, the zippers become misaligned easily. Thought this was user error until I experienced the same problem with two other Rab brand jackets I purchased.

Same problem of misaligned/slipping zippers. Just takes extra time to make sure it’s zipped correctly. Time you don’t want to take when it’s -20C!.

Excellent fit. Not many Goretex pro pants (non-salopette) out there with full length side zip, but these have all the features you could want. Great adjustments all round to fit usage with lots of different clothing combinations – and most of all, waterproof in full-on Scottish.

These trousers are perfect! They do everything they say; keep you dry and warm. Although they are true to size, I even have enough room for a pair of additional leggings or even a pair of jeans, depending on the weather!.

I used theses pants over my jeans when Im working outside In this great Northeast weather. Plus my money is still dry when I reach into my pocket To pay for lunch and thats a first they are a great pair of pants and yes I would buy them again and I would also recommend them to anybody I know.

I love the feel and comfort. Great all weather pant. I would give it 5 stars except for sizing. The large is way to big and medium is a little snug. There is no in between. If happens to fit you right it a great item.

My husband said these are some of the most comfortable pants he has owned for rainy golf days! We ordered up a size so he can slip them over his pants and they have adjustable Velcro sides so they fit just right!! Very nice pants!!.

I bought two of these – one for my husband, size L, and one for myself, size M. I am a tall woman, and it’s next to impossible to find practical hiking pants made for tall women. It feels like manufactures of good hiking gear mostly cater for men, and whatever is created for women, it is made to show our rear end in a tightly fitted leggings.

This is not good in mosquito-ridden hiking areas, makes it easier for them to bite through :). So, I started trying out some men’s stuff, and sometimes I hit a jackpot. The pants are light – Medium size is 7.

3 oz, I confirmed it on my high precision scale. They feel really good against bare skin. We tested the pants on two recent hikes. One was a snowstorm that gradually moved into freezing rain, an then plain rain.

I used the pants with a bottom layer, and I was really comfortable in the pants for two days in a row. They held up really well against abrasions, high wind, wet conditions. The other hike was not as dramatic, rain only, and I used the pants without a bottom layer.

And still liked them. Two thoughts: I am not sure if it’s a good idea to use the pants in a hot climate (like hiking in Costa Rica, we’ve done that too, but in shorts, no pants). I think I would boil inside of them.

I saw in another review that somebody bought the pants for a tropical trip. Not sure about that. Yes, they are very light, and seemed to breath, still. Second comment is about the drawstring. I did not need to use it, the pants safely stayed on my women-shaped body parts.

But my husband had hard time dealing with it, he just couldn’t figure out a way to keep it tight enough for the pants to stay on, and had to retighten it all the time.

I tried on numerous rain pants prior to trying these. I find rain pants so unflattering and tight at the waist and baggy around my thighs. I kept these as they were as attractive as this type of clothing can be.

They have a drawstring waist so they are not too tight around the waist. They are not baggy at all and are soft. I bought a medium (my usual size) and was able to fit a pair of tights underneath. I wore them on a hike in the pouring rain last week and they kept me dry.

The only negative things I can say is that they are not super roomy around the quads and make a bit of swooshing noise when I walk (not bothersome to me).

I’m 5ft 4in and about 145lbs. I needed new full zip rain pants and ordered these. I had ordered dawn patrol snowpants last year and love them, so was hoping I would feel similarly about these. My dawn patrol pants are a size medium and I like how they fit a little baggy so I ordered these in a size medium as well.

When they came, it was a very different fit. The pants are snug around the thighs making it difficult to fit many layers below (which I do a lot). Other than the snugger fit around the legs, I like how stretchy and lightweight they are.
