20 Best Waterproof Pillow Protectors (2022 Updated)

I am SO IMPRESSED with these pillow covers! I own a small B and B, and due to Covid, started washing all of my guest pillows in between bookings; that’s been A LOT of pillow laundering over the past almost 2 years! In addition to some of the pillows looking less than perfect due to all of the laundering, and all the time, energy, and water used to launder the pillows numerous times a week, I decided to look for pillow covers that would be waterproof, soft, and quiet.

I honestly didn’t think I would find anything that would satisfy all 3 needs, but these do! I LOVE THEM! I’ve already washed them a few times and have had numerous guests sleep on them with no complaints.

(I have been diligent in washing them in only cool or lukewarm water and let them air dry. ) I originally purchased a 4 pack of standard and king covers, and a 2-pack of queen covers, and I plan to order more! THEY ARE THE BEST!.

I got diagnosed with a pretty severe dust mite allergy recently so I have been pulling out all the stops to try and manage it. I bought these pillow covers to protect the pillow itself. I think it is pretty water-resistant and probably does protect from dust mites but when the zipper is sealed, there is not much airflow to the pillow.

I woke up with my neck hurting because the pillow cannot maintain its shape. Once the air is compressed out, it does not come back in easily. The pillow would practically be a pancake by the morning.

I have the cover over my pillow and then my bedding pillowcase over the cover. Right now, I keep the zipper open for airflow but that probably does not help the fight against dust mites. I can’t say I am totally pleased with the product but I don’t think it is worth returning either.

I will definitely continue using them but I think the pillow form should be taken into consideration. I have plain cotton/feather pillows so this could be better suited for a foam block pillow that has more shape in it already.

Mostly, I want pillow protectors to keep pillows from absorbing any sweat that might go through the pillowcase. These are zippered pillow protectors, and are of good quality. They have (not sure how to describe) fuzzy texture on outside, which makes it difficult to put pillowcase on, but which also keeps pillowcase from slipping off easily.

I cannot comment on their being waterproof, because I have not spilled anything on them. They seem fairly airtight, which probably indicates that they are likely waterproof. I had to leave the zipper unzipped about a half inch so that pillow was not like a balloon.

They do feel breathable in that they do not make my head sweat. I put them over down pillows, No feathers are coming through (they have only been on for a few days). So far they meet my expectations!.

This protector will keep my Memory Foam mattress protected for a very long time and the price is great❤️❤️❤️

It is a good thing about the protector at least you know it well protect the mattress.

Works well, no stains, no leakage

I have purchased so many different materials over the years. Including recent purchases of Pure Care 5-sided protector made from Celliant, & that stuff is not soft or cool to the touch at all, & has a very odd yellow tinge.

While the FRiO 360 Waterproof pillow Protector Rapid Chill feels so nice to the touch and fits my King-Size Pro Cool Mid height(for side and back sleepers) Tempurpedic pillow. Love the FRiO 360 Rapid Chill waterproof protector line of products by PURECARE.

If you like the cool feeling you get from Sateen Sheets, but unlike sateen sheets, the PURE CARE FRIO 360 Will stay cool all night long & is really nice feel.

Not impressed. Feels like I am sleeping with a trash bag on my pillow. Too plastic-icky. For the price, they should not feel like plastic.

Way too big for my pillow. Bunches up under pillow case. Perhaps I ordered the wrong size. I should have ordered queen. Not sure.

If you have dust mite allergies these covers are a MUST. In addition they are water resistant which will keep your pillows cleaner and prolong their life. Whenever we buy new pillows we put them in dust mite proof covers that are also water resistant asap.

If you have dust mite allergies I do recommend starting out with new pillows if you can otherwise the air coming out, when you lay on them, is going to have allergens from the pillow. This was the first time using this brand and they have been the best we have used so far.

We bought several (standard, queen, and king) and have been using them for many weeks. They don’t make noise like some we have encountered. They do hold in air a little but given the fact that they are water resistant, have zippers, and are truly dust mite proof I was anticipating this.

When you squish them or lay on them the air comes out. you just have to get used to this part of life living with dust mite allergies. It really has not been an issue, just something to get used to. I do leave the tiniest opening in the zipper to allow the air to come out a little faster.

Washing and drying have been a breeze. We have enjoyed the covers we purchased and would recommend them. When we buy more pillows, or need to refresh old covers we will be back for more from Protect-A-Bed.

I was excited about this product from all the high reviews but I’m very disappointed in them. First, I ordered standard size for my standard size pillows and they were still too big, leaving almost a 1/4 gap.

The, when it’s zipped and you put the pillow case over it, it becomes almost like a big ball. So imagine trying to sleep on a zipped lock bag full of air. Another problem is where the zipper is located.

Instead of it being at the end of a seam, it’s a few inches inward so if you happen to put your head in that area you can sometimes feel the zipper. Lastly, I’m not a fan of the material as it feels like smooth polyester but I overlooked it since it would be covered with a pillow case.

I would return these if I could.

If you’re really concerned about your allergies (or, like me, were finally told to buy these by your doctor), these are the best on the market today. The construction’s great, as is the material. It’s not plastic-y like other brands, and the zipper is covered up.

Some here say it’s noisy, but I only sense noise when I first lay on it and the air has to seep out. That’s an issue with all allergy pillow covers that I’ve yet to find a solution for. With all that said, you get two of these bad boys for this price (wait for a good sale, if you can) and you and your wallet really have an advantage on your allergies.

I got a set of the a little over a month ago. I have a very sensitive nose especially while sleeping, so I needed the extra protection from my pillows. Washing them weekly just isn’t going to happen.

These covers zip up allowing the pillow to be completely encased. I then inserted the zipped end into the pillowcase so I wouldn’t feel it while sleeping. I’ve noticed less issues with middle of the night allergy attacks.

They’re also waterproof so if you tend to drill in your sleep, this will keep the pillow protected from that. Machine washable so they too stay clean. Would highly recommend to anyone that is sensitive to pillows or just wants them to stay clean.

I have terrible night sweats. My pillows get dingy and gross after a month of use. This works. It kept my pillow clean and sort of wisked away dampness as I slept. The only issue I have it the texture.

If it’s zippered all the way up, and you get a little extra air in it, it won’t deflate. Which, I understand is the purpose, but it makes the pillow bulky and sort of annoying. It also feels like plastic.

Which, again, I know is the point. But it’s uncomfortable and loud. Like having a grocery bag in bed with you.

I have had to deal with allergies my whole life. This pillow cover works so well. I have had zero issues since using. It it made extremely well. Very durable. I have washes it multiple times. Still looks and feels brand new.

I have no words to describe how much better I am sleeping. This is awesome.

I can’t recommend this pillow enough. I originally started researching pillows since my shoulders hurt every morning. I’m a side sleeper and came to realize in my google search that perhaps I should replace my pillow.

I’ve had a Sleep Number pillow for 10 years and at $250 each, thought I’d be shelling out $$$. I seriously researched about 3 hours on pillows. Amazon reviews, Consumer Reports, etc. The sleep guarantee and excellent reviews convinced me to give it a shot.

I bought 2 king sized pillows. When the box arrived my husband said he would refuse to give up his pillow. But I put it on the bed anyway and he tried it out for the night. I really wasn’t aware until compared side by side, how noisy a pillow is. Last thing, the pillow cover is a great addition. It didn’t make the pillow any less desirable or reduce the sleep quality. It’s great to know that I’m protecting my investment and not losing any functionality.

We purchased two of these. My spouse uses one without adding or removing any filling and finds it just fine. I am the one with more neck issues and am still trying to find the right combination. The initial level of filling is too much so I removed some.

I find that it does collapse somewhat during use and I find myself re-fluffing it several times during the night. Allegedly the side gusset keeps the edge from collapsing, which might be the case with a fully packed pillow, but not if one has had to remove some filling.

I wonder if a channel down either long side that could be separately packed and act as a cervical support wouldn’t be a bad idea. That way the neck could have firmer support than the head, if that were appropriate.

The inner case and the outer protective case seem well made and comfortable. As to cooling, I did not find that this pillow was any cooler than either my previous memory foam or filled pillow. I was really hoping for an improvement in that regard.

I am a very very warm sleeper and I often have night sweats. I am also kind of a germaphobe when it comes to pillows and mattresses. Serta is one of my top choices when it comes to sleeping related brands so I assumed this pillow protector would be good quality.

The claims are: cool to the touch fabric that breathes and cools, StainTech design that easily releases stains, keep the pillow cleaner longer and it features a zipper closure. The fabric is a kind of mesh, quilted fabric which allows air to flow and it is truly cool to the touch.

I put this on and then put a jersey pillow case on top and my pillow remained cool on my face all night long. I am so impressed and I have noticed a great improvement on my quality and duration of sleep.

It has a zipper closure for that added protection for your pillow. Easy to wash. I really like having these protectors on our pillows, highly recommend.

This pillow protector could easily function as a standard pillow case on its own, but it serves its intended purpose well in my daughter’s room. She really prefers to shower at night before going to bed, so she typically goes to bed with a wet head.

After years of struggling to keep her pillow clean (it took close to an entire day to get the pillow dry again after washing), this has been a huge victory for me. I no longer have to wash and dry the whole pillow! The protector is a wonderful weight and very soft to the touch, and she has had no complaints about the addition under her regular pillow case.

I like these because they feel more like fabric than others I have tried. They made my pillows look brand new and I feel cleaner sleeping with these protecting my pillow. I use a pure cotton pillowcase over them and it’s soft and smooth.

They do not make the crinkle sounds like some other protective covers. I’m getting new pillows and will be purchasing more of these because it will also prolong the life of the pillow. Good pillows are expensive and hard to find so I will defiantly use these covers over them so they will last longer.

I received this product for free to give my honest opinion. The texture has a towel like feel so much so I had to use an extra pillow case because it was not very comfortable to the touch. I had high hopes but the protector felt a little too plastic for my tastes.

One good benefit is it zips tightly and snugly. Inside the protector it feels like plastic material so I’m sure that bugs cannot get through it. I definitely like that aspect! I did not wash it so not sure if it would feel softer later.

Definitely not for direct use on the skin. I guess you could, but it feels like putting your face on a paper towel.

I like these because I slobber, a lot lol, and these will keep my pillows looking fresh. My husband didn’t like his because it changed the “plushness” of his pillow. I get what he means — when you zip up the protector it does sort of vacuum out (or in?) the air and your pillow doesn’t have the same squishiness that it did before.

I’m fine with that. But I think unzipping the protector might help with that.

Completely satisfied! Terry cloth and waterproof protectors was exactly what I needed. No crackling plastic sound, just super soft. Machine washable and safe to throw in dryer. Great quality! They have enhanced the life of my pillows.

I was “diagnosed” by my doctor as having “allergic shiners. ” What is this? Well, I would repeatedly get black eyes. Like, it looked like I was hit, hard, in BOTH of my eyes. They were both bruised and red/irritated looking.

Turns out it was allergies. I bought three of these covers, one for each pillow on the bad. That, and a mattress cover and strict washing of our sheets (and daily allergy meds) have all helped and my eyes have looked un-zombie-like since.

I’m a germ freak so I love my pillow protector. I notice other protectors being really plastic like, however, this allerase protector is super comfortable and soft. It fit over my pillow easily and I can already tell it’s working.

The zipper is super sturdy and hasn’t failed me in all the times I’ve removed it to wash. Will definitely be taking this protector with me to hotels as well!.

I have terrible seasonal allergies, so I got this hoping it would help at night. I was worried it would be hot, but was pleasantly surprised that it did not retain heat. I love that it is not slick material, causing the pillow case to slip around during the night.

So far this season, I am not waking up super stuffy, so that’s a plus!.

do not buy these pillow case covers. they are very bad for any person to lay their head on them. i woke up with my right eye red and swollen. they also sucked all the air out of the pillows. like a vacuum.

my eye is still swollen. looks like i got punched in the eye. very poor product for cases. the same polyurthane is used on mattress and box spring. its only good for that.

The design appears to be an effective one to prevent bed bugs from entering. There is an interior flap, then a hook-and-loop closure and, finally, an exterior zipper. They have 2 issues. First, these can be machine washed but can be dried on an air-only setting.

I tried hanging them to dry and they took hours. Second, and for the life of me I can not comprehend why this is, they inflate while on the pillow. They puff up to rock hardness. You have to press down hard to release the air.

And they inflate every time after use. It’s just weird.

Recently visited my son who I purchased pillows and protector for. The pillows are great but the protectors shrunk to 3/4 or less of their size! Since they had not been washed when received, what is the likelihood that Walmart will reimburse me?!.

These fit perfectly on my (recently new) memory foam stuffed king size pillows. My pillows are king sized but very full so some king sized pillow covers/cases are very tight. This one was snug but easy to put on.

It doesn’t move around inside of the pillow case; I toss and turn throughout the night. It’s very soft and they designed a small flap to conceal and cover the zipper. I am impressed that it is almost 100% effective.

My husband is a mechanic and no matter how many showers and scrubbing, his skin absorbs a lot of the oil which then absorbs into our sheets and can be noticeable if I don’t get a chance to wash it within 4-5 days – so having a pillow protector is necessary! I checked after a week of use and the pillow cover has protected the pillows well; I’ll be interested to see how it holds up after a couple months.

When I removed these pillow protectors from the packaging, I noticed that they are made of thick, high quality cotton but that they also seemed a bit crisp and stiff. I was hoping they might soften up a bit in the washing machine and dryer, but they didn’t.

However, when I put them on my pillow and my husband’s pillow, the crispness wasn’t noticeable. I easily zipped them around our 2 different styles of pillows and put our pillowcases over them. Sorry, no pros or cons to report as we ordered these for a new Victim Shelter opening in the Fall & have not put them to use yet. Gave these a 4-star rating because we did open the package to pre-determine if the quality seemed as if they would work and it appears so.

This is thick and well made . Fits the pillow very nicely and is protecting it from damage . Zipper seems sturdy as does the overall construction of the protector .

I received this pillow protector and was really pleased with the softness upon first touch. Most seem to be rough and an uncomfortable plastic type material. This feels like a thick, soft pillowcase.

When you put a regular pillowcase over this, it’s not too bulky and it doesn’t slide off or anything. These are also easy to care for and don’t need to be dry cleaned or hand washed. I have Night allergies, that’s right seems like my allergies only act up at night so it’s hard for me to get a good night sleep. I have tried everything including getting a new pillow. I do have a dog and cat but I’m not allergic to them.

My wife is always dusting and vacuuming to help keep up with dog/cat hair and dust, etc. I put the protector on and BOOM yes I still had some stuffy nose but nothing like I use too. The pillow protector is very comfortable, soft and I believe it stays cool which is very nice.

It washes up very nice and dries great, hardly any wrinkles.

When i put this pillow protector on my pillow, from just the way they feel, they seem pretty good quality. They are not too thick that it is hard plastic feeling. This is smoother mix of some type of plastic mixed with cloth.

The pillow protectors are more cloth feeling than plastic. I feel like i am being protected when using these. I personally put a pillow case over the pillow protector, lt just makes it that much softer.

I would for sure buy these again.

These are well made and fit my oversized King pillows. I didn’t know they have a ?plastic/vinyl? type lining and was afraid it would be too hot, but it has not been. I do like the idea because it keeps stains that would normally go through the liner from doing just that.

These are great; clean-looking, easy to use, effective and don’t “make noise” because they have a plastic-like barrier. Love these and ordered more.

I bought these pillow covers for my feather pillows that I bought at Costco. After a few weeks the feathers starting coming through and picking me. I didn’t know I needed covers for feather pillows. I’m so glad I chose these.

I’ve had them for a few weeks now and they are working perfectly. I haven’t felt any feathers coming through. I would recommend getting the pair. Plus this company was easy to order from, the mailed the package as described, and they kept me informed of the process.

I ordered both the 400 tc and 600 tc pillow protectors. Both were very soft, didn’t feel stiff or ‘plasticky” at all. I haven’t wash/dried them yet but the zippers and cases seem to be well made (no tears/loose seems).

Unfortunately the 400tc count ones had a rectangular rust colored stain as well as the replacement ones they sent out. The company was nice enough to let me keep the cases without me having to return them, , so I’m updating my previous review.

I would definitely give the 600tc 5 stars since there were no issues. (The 600 tc are a bit thicker, but not too thick. I actually love the feel of both the 400 and 600). I did eventually get the stains out by soaking the areas with straight bleach (regular detergent or hydrogen peroxide didn’t work).

Other than the issue with 400 tc, both the cases/company deserve 5 stars.

Set of 2 pillow cases are good. They are not totally feather proof because one or two come through but they reduce the amount that come through.

I like that it is very thin and feels comfortable! It feels like a soft pillow case, and I can still feel the original feel of my pillow, from Bedgear, like there is nothing covering it. I haven’t had the time to have any accidental spills or accidents on the pillow protector yet.

My daughter sleeps in my bed and always has. So having the option to get a mattress protector as well as a pillow protector is amazing to preserve the life of both. I should have got this before my daughter was born, because I wouldn’t have had to get rid of my pillows from accidents in the past.

I have had to get rid of some really nice pillows in the past, because accidents have leaked from the surface of the mattress onto the bottoms of my pillows and ruined them. Now that I have this pillow protector, I am confident in keeping my nice pillows for a long time! Keeping the pillows clean and not exposed for the remainder of their lifetime.

Now after any accidents, I can just clean the pillow protector and not be worried about my pillow getting damaged, dirty, stinky, and ruined. I think it is very neat that the pillow protector has the technology of being breathable, with year- round temperature regulation that wicks away heat and moisture to keep you cool and dry.

It also is amazing that the pillow protector resists pet dander, dust mites, stains, fluid, allergens. After a few accidents have taken place, I will write another review of this product. This is my honest review.

I purchased two of these myself, after searching the internet for a pillow protector with great reviews.

Excellent pillow protection. These protectors are soft and feel good to sleep on. They retain that nice feel even after washing. There is no noticeable difference before or after washing, which for me is important.

Some pillow protector feel sort of crunchy or stiffened or changed somehow after washing, but not with these. They still manage for provide all the necessary protection you want in something like this.

I used this protector with the rain 3. 0 pillow. It worked great, but I felt like the cooling effect of the pillow was slightly reduced. Overall protection was actually really good! If you have kids, or you ever take your pillow out camping, this protector is a must have.

Before purchasing, noise while moving at night was of concern. That concern went away the moment I tested this pillow protector. By the way, I’ve used this protector for about a year now and it still works quite well.

I just hope they release a 6. 0 version like they did with the mattress protectors. Chances are, you own an expensive high end pillow if you’re looking at this product. Make it last with this protector.

Don’t have kids and don’t take this pillow camping? Don’t even worry about getting this protector. You could probably get by without it. Also, I wish I could give this product a 4. 5 out of 5 stars. But that isn’t an option, and I’m not about to give away a perfect score.
