20 Best Waterproof Rc Truck (2022 Updated)

I don’t know how you can receive this sort of quality for 150 bucks. Is it going to break? Yeah. Are you going to have to tighten some screws up? Yeah. my wheel nuts have already come loose a little bit from the torque.

I beat it up pretty good and it seems to hold up so far and have put a seven cell NIMH pack in it. Really it is set up pretty good out of the box. You’re not going to get a lot of support at the hobby shop on these because they can’t make any money on them but parts are cheap available everywhere online.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. oh yeah it’s not really waterproof in deep puddles but you can dry it out and it’ll work again.

I was skeptical about getting this for my son because the others we looked at were more expensive. However, this has been well worth it for my son and for his dad and I. It’s fun to watch his expressions when it flips over something and lands on its wheels every time.

It goes very fast and will go over snow, mud and ice. Where we will our weather conditions constantly change but it adapts great. You have to make sure the battery connections are tight because they will come apart if you don’t.

I do recommend getting extra batteries because you’re having fun time flies and its nice to have a couple extra around. Definitely a great buy!.

Traxxas has become a garbage company. I bought a new Revo 3. 3 a month ago. I tried and tried to get it started. It would not run. I have been running nitro for 30 years at least. I know how to get them started.

I removed the engine thinking maybe something had happened in shipment. I disassembled the engine. When I opened it up I knew what the problem was immediately. The engine was used and not new. The connecting rod was broke and the piston was cracked.

So I called Traxxas. They said send the engine in. I did along with a copy of my receipt. They emailed a week later and told me what I already knew. They said the only thing they would do is sell me a new engine.

$550 for the Revo and unless I pay $200 more it is no better than a paper weight.

Love the E Revo, I bought it as my first electric car and it rips! All wheel drive takes off like a rocket. It will flip without a wheelie bar. 2 batteries make them last longer. Although they don’t let me driver it on public tracks because it tears up too much it’s great if you find an open park or skate park to bash in.

It’s fun to drive, it’s fun to work on. If your into cars and wrenching dog in, this is a mouthful.

Overall Tomy did a very nice job trying to put a lot of detail in such a small package. The paint work is very good. My wish would have been to add a detailed interior. The finish on the chrome wheels in nice and looks good on the car.

The level of performance it delivers, for a box stock car, is very good. With that new Mega G+ chassis I have noticed a little better handling and overall speed compared to the Mega G chassis. Most importantly, They appear to have corrected the electrical problem with the pickup shoes that would pop up on the Mega G chassis.

Overall I would say this car is worth the money. It definitely gives you a lot of bang for the buck in performance and cosmetics. Ron H.

This car is 27 years old with current design and configuration being 10 years. This is a sturdy vehicle that comes with some good extras. As a stock car it will provide hours and hours of fun. I find that this car handles extremely well even while “bashing”.

Runs well on dirt tracks, flat surfaces and in a skate parks ( be careful on high jumps in course). On the negative side this car is fair in grassy surface (do not think it is built for that kind of terrain like most stadium trucks).

Could use a few upgrades to give longer run time and durability ( i. e. heat sink, battery replacement, wheelie bar, front and aluminum shock towers and suspension bars.

So I decided during quarantine for me and my kids to do something different and bought this car from everyone superstore. It said it was for entry level people like myself (note that I am not mechanically minded at all – more of a book smart guy).

We were so excited when we got it. I was impressed by how easy it was to put together and we were driving it in no time. I spent some time getting used to it and was impressed by its speed. And then I let my 9 year try it out.

5 minutes later the front wheel was completely dislocated and the parts on the front were broken. He went full speed (which is super fast) into the wall. At first I was very angry and sad. But then i realized that this is what people do thee hobby car stuff for.

So I went to the rc superstore website and found the part number I needed (took me a couple hours longer trying to figure out from the explicit diagram that the car came with-it’s amazing how many parts they have) So.

I bought the part and emailed the store (they aren’t able to answer phone because of quarantine) with a picture of the wrecked car and the part I ordered. They were extremely helpful and response (tank you Caleb) and were able to tell me that I needed an additional pin.

Parts came three days later and it was super intimidating for someone like me who had NO experience with this stuff. But I came up with a plan. It got a little frustrating on the way because this isn’t the type of thing with directions but my son and I had an amazing sense of accomplishment when we got it to work and now understand how to fix the front of the car.

This car has made me realize that I need a hobby. Thank you Caleb and RC Superstore.

My kid drives this things so hard. off ramps, flips it over Back, front and sideways, wheelies galore, gets it stuck under the shed bending the antenna. Besides some scrapes on the cover, no real damage.

I am a single mom and this is my first real nice RC car, I was nervous it would be complicated, but it was just about ready to go out Right of the box. Just made sure it was charged, read some directions and away way we went.

O. and it was raining. It worked great and so much fun in the rain we just made sure we dried it will well after and took the battery out for the night to let the rest dry. 100 crashes flips twists rain water and no severe problems yeah aside losing those silly hitch (Hood) pins I would suggest being extra.

I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone with younger kids who are a little more rough and things!!! My son is six almost 7 and I cannot believe how fast he picked us up I can’t even get it to go straight and he can do 30 over a ramp! Great Product!!.

Is this truck perfect? No. Is it better than the Losi at half the price? You bet! A few upgrades and this thing becomes what God intended it to be; a near perfect scale Monster Jammin beast!

Really good rig, very scale. Not A fast vehicle out of the box. (not meant for speed). Easy to work on and maintain. Pros: everything Cons: battery connector not the easiest to get too. (Not A big deal).

Great truck right out of the box! Most scale RC monster truck there is- axial has done very well with this updated version and you cant beat the price.

Fairly easy to work on, great upgrades are available now with metal dog bones and aluminum shocks. Also, the RPM control arms are a must for this truck if any hard core jumping is involved. The stock arms are too stiff and break on the first sign of an off landing.

Running 8000 ma 50c lipo and can barely keep it on the ground at full throttle. Motor gets a little hot so added a sink and fan to it after reading some previous reviews, (thank you for the heads up).

All in all it’s a good Truck, with the upgrades it’s a great truck.

It is fast and bashes great but if you want to race on the rc tracks you need a 1/8 buggy. The wheel base is to short on this MT10 and it spins on the turns a little compared to a 1/8 buggy with longer wheel base.

Also the pinion gear came loose I guess I should of checked it out and made sure it was tight because the company did not. Over all great for bashing alright for racing.

Very fast and much better than R/C’s I have owned in the past, I am amazed at what it will climb and how well it handles. I haven’t really owned/driven it enough to truly rate it’s durability but it does seem well made so far.

I can’t wait it take it to the desert mountain area.

I’ve owned my Xmaxx 8s for about 2. 5 years. It is incredibly fast for a vehicle it’s size. You’ll definitely need a large area to really enjoy this truck and for safety reasons. I’m not a basher. but.

the thing is so large and fast that you will occasionally roll/flip it, seeing a nearly 30 lbs RC vehicle flip and roll is quite a sight. and with that said, you’re gonna break stuff every now and again.

It’s an incredibly sturdy truck though. This isn’t a toy for children and I would even say not for novice adults. I would recommend the upgraded Traxxas steering servo as it’s stronger and better enables faster turning and maintaining better control during turns.

Metal shock caps are another upgrade as the plastic ones can crack after some heavy use. The only other thing that’s broken on my truck is the front bumper support. I’ve greatly enjoyed this vehicle.

Traxxas really put a lot of great engineering into this thing. Keep up with maintenance and just drive the thing. I rated it 4 stars because. there is always room for improvement and if there wasn’t room you wouldn’t need to upgrade some parts.

I can’t express how helpful these guys are with any issue with my xmaxx!!! Had a issue with my xmaxx servo, went through some trouble shooting with the rep to narrow down the problem & traxxas rep ended up getting my info & had me send the servo in.

Seemed to be about a week later received a brand new servo on my door step!!!! This wasn’t the first time I’ve called traxxas tec with a few issues Ive had, called to re program my esc cause I held the power button down to long once on accident and it re set it & the rep Patiently talk me through the steps to get it set back to stock, and I’ve called for other small issues & every time I’ve called they’ve been absolutely great friendly and ALWAYS helpful!!! This xmaxx was my first Traxxas truck and I have 4 different trucks from traxxas now since getting my xmaxx just because I know if there’s a issue they’ll be there to help get me back up & running and they back up there Products without any hassle or run arounds.

Plus there rc trucks are unbelievably tough and bulletproof!! Thank you!!.

Well it’s been 30 plus years since I held a remote, Marriage, kids, life. My son is 30 and found my cars some 20 years ago and accumulated 10 more but then he got his real car. And put them away. Well he just bought his 11th 12th 13th last month and we went to get his 14th (Horizon Felony) And X Maxxx was staring at me and said you know you want me.

And I took out the Platinum Card and the rest is history. It was a awesome day with more to come.

We’ve owned many Traxxas and non-Traxxas RC trucks over the years. This truck is certainly loads of fun and has some nice features but the big knock is the durability. Just yard racing (no big jumps or bashing) and we’ve broken multiple parts already.

The Ultra Shocks, A-arms, and hub carriers are notoriously fragile in stock Traxxas trucks. This was not really a surprise but I thought perhaps they had moved to better polymers with this new model, especially given that it is so heavy and is 4×4.

No such luck. Still, I would recommend this truck to anyone that understands they will need to buy spare or upgraded parts immediately. I wish they would at least use RPM-equivalent plastic parts from the outset.

Pros: Lots of power TSM works as advertised roll cage is nice parts are readily available handling is very good Cons: fragility of plastic parts body is tough to get on/off automatic rollover recovery has never worked on any surface At $400.

00 this is a bit pricey for the truck you get but with upgrades it becomes an amazing 4×4 stadium truck. Just don’t expect it to be something it is not out-of-the-box.

It’s all they say and more! so much fun! It can still break though. Within my first few outings, I hit a pole and shattered a front a arm. All my fault of course, but I expected more from the new “improved” a arms considering it wasn’t that hard a hit.

Replaced with RPM now, were good to go. It’s still tough as hell and the best slash you can buy. Totally worth it!.

If you’re looking for a first remote control truck for kids, you can’t do better than this. It’s quick, but not so fast as one of the hobby-shop grade R/C’s that are hard to control. It is 4WD so can crawl through mud, snow, ice or gravel.

We have built ramps for it, it crawls over rocks, it is so much fun. It has a modular ‘throttle’, so if you just touch lightly it will crawl over obstacles. Some of the cheaper R/C trucks just have ‘go’ or ‘stop’, they don’t allow you this control.

The controller has two thumb joysticks – one controls the left two wheels, the other controls the right two wheels. It turns more like a tank than a truck, because one set of wheels stops while the other turns.

This means it can do fun spins in the sand, and makes a simple 4WD system. The best part by far is that it has sealed waterproof components and floating tires, meaning it can go where most R/C’s can’t.

It takes a beating and keeps on going – even in the bathtub if you wanted it to My son is 7 and it’s the perfect starter R/C truck.

I was so surprised when the package arrived on my front door. The kids cannot even wait to try this out. It comes with a small remote that requires 2 AA batteries. The monster truck needs to be charged via usb and usb connector comes with it.

The cord wasnt long enough though so you need an extension. 2 boys and a dog are a handful and they play rough and it withstand the outdoor element. Its light enough as the wheels are made out of styro that it can be carried by a 4 year old.

Manufacturer recommended not to use it where there is water due to the usb connection thats under the truck but it is tall enough that it can go through small muddy puddles in the backyard. Thank you for the opportunity to try this out.

This car is very cool we bought it for my son’s birthday present/ my present seeing that he is only 3. He doesn’t quite grasp the concept of turning and because this car is very fast it has taken some tough crashes and as a result it damaged the front bumper a little bit, overall I would say under the beating that this car has taken so far it has held up really well.

The extra battery is a huge plus!!! The fact that each wheel has independent suspension is really cool and allows for some awesome jumps and allows this car to take in some tough terrain. The throttle control is really cool to we don’t really have much experience with rc cars this car was a great first for us and our son.

The only bummer about our experience was that when ramping a crib the passenger side front wheel came off and we were unable to find the nut that came off because it was so little so the car became useless and disappointing but after reaching out to WinWintech, the company’s customer service team was great we had to email back and forth which isn’t preferable but after briefly explaining what happened and sending some pictures they sent out a new car just like that! Needless to say we are very pleased with theircustomer service and quick responses via email.

I haven’t owned a Clod since 1993. But they’re mostly unchanged, except for the ESC and Colors (and LACK of any legit Branding) But the Clodbuster is built to TAKE IT. Main issue – unchanged since its debut in 1988 – the Steering SUCKS!! Get you a Servo on Axle conversion Kit, BOTH Axles, and you’ll be very happy with it!!.

Sure, there are rc trucks that are technically superior, faster, and even cheaper. But this is the only thing I’ve seen out there that handles and resembles old school 80s monster trucks. Can be a bit of handful to build though, taught me a thing or two in the process.

But overall, its a really fun project if you have a few bucks and have some time to kill. Oh, and if the rest of the internet hasn’t told you already, BUY A BALL BEARING SET!! The kit includes some wimpy plastic bushings that fit where you should put bearings.

That’s the only hop-up option that I feel is a must no matter what you plan on doing with the truck.

Bought 2 Defenders for my kids for Christmas and both stopped working within a few hours. Customer service is awesome and ultimately determined the motors were bad. They sent replacement motors that worked for a few more hours of use before going out again.

I have replaced the motors 3 times in both vehicles with only 2-3 hours use each time. Kids have now stopped using because they don’t want to break them. I’ve had other traxxas rc car that lasted for years without any problems.

I want to emphasize that customer support was extremely helpful but they couldnt ever resolve to continuing issue with motors. Not sure what the deal is with these Defender motors but would not recommend based on my experience.

This very detailed scale model is great in so many ways you could be looking at the real thing. Im 67 and confined to a wheelchair i needed a hobby and this is ideal. There is also a lot of aftermarket stuff that you can make it your own and not interfere with the integrity of the vehicle.

This trx put me back behind the wheel and im learning new skills and ticks all boxes for me believe me i did my homework and im 100% pleased with my choice i feel itsis superbly engineered it runs very quiet and very predictable cheers all Ron.

The package arrived promptly and well protected from RCGeeks. The Defender worked straight out of the box (after charging the battery) and is great fun to drive. There are a lot more technical reviews already on YouTube.

Traxxas make their batteries and chargers really compatible with each other and are simple to use. I would use RCGeeks again for any future rc purchases and would recommend them.

This truck represented a significant financial outlay for me. I wanted to enjoy it over the summer holiday period yet as of its purchase date (November 27th) I’ve yet to be able to drive the vehicle due to faulty components and incorrect assembly.

HPI have agreed to send out replacement parts which I commend them for, however I seem to continually encounter new problems and have spent no time actually driving and enjoying this truck which essentially makes this product not fit for purpose.

Honestly, I feel sick in the stomach at the money I’ve wasted here and wish they’d just had given me a refund. Long story short, this vehicle is poorly designed, poorly manufactured and poorly assembled.

Look elsewhere for your nitro fix.

If you can get a hold of the reverse module, it would be perfect. Also, upgrading to a 3 speed transmission is that much better. The engine is easy to tuned as long as you use the 20% nitro fuel made for cars.

Anything else and it can become difficult to tune. I recommend O. S #A3 plugs for easy starts and consistant runs. I used the truck in Sand dunes and have ran it through the desert silt. The truck is bullet proof.

Just need to replace the normal wear and tear parts like the spur gear, clutch, wheel bearings. Other than that, it rough and tough.

I’ve had my SavageX 4.6 for 7 years now, I’ve burned a good 40 gallons on it and still rolling like new. HPI is simply the best.

I don’t race, I don’t plan on racing, I didn’t need a racer. Many years ago I purchased the original Rustler and didn’t drive it often, I ended up trading it away and had regretted it right away. I got this one and not the VXL because, frankly, I didn’t need the speed of the brushless motor.

It’s loads of fun, I get to drive it around, jump it, roll it, and just generally don’t worry about it (I did break the bumper and bought an RPM bumper, so there’s that. ) Traxxas parts are available darn near everywhere, for when it does break, and I’m looking forward to many more years with my new truck.

I ended up buying an imax b6 charger and a Zeepower 8000mah battery, battery and charger are not included, and I get about 30 continuous minutes of run time. That’s not the truck itself but it might be helpful to someone reading this review.

I also have an old Speed Gems 2 17t motor that I am using, not the 12t Titan, so that may have effect on run time. It appears that the only bearings that you should get are the 8 wheel bearings, the transmission looks like it is already set up with them.

I bought this one for my 9 year old son who was ready for something better than the standard toy store cars. It has great power and durability and the controls are easy to master. The battery life is pretty good, about 20 minutes for a flat pack battery.

Overall an excellent car.

I have always been a fan of Traxxas. I bought a Rustler about 15 years ago and it still runs today. So for my sons 14th birthday I bought him A new Rustler. The New one has some great styling and now comes “stock” with the electronics I wanted to purchase as an upgrade back in the day.

Its a great RC, very fast and just as durable as the one I got 15 years ago. Thank you Traxxas for making a great RC even better.

This review is not for the car (since the box with the car is not open yet and waiting for sending it overseas in November as gift for my grandson), but about exceptional customer service! The first car was received damaged due to careless delivery service but Sun Baby Support Team quickly and professionally solved this issue.

They requested the confirmation of damage with pictures of the broken toy and promptly send us the new car, the same model. They also stated that I don’t need to return the damaged car (the broken part did not affect the operation of the car) and we can continue to use it.

We bought this for our 10 year old for Christmas. He loves rc’s and has quite a few. We were looking for something we could run outdoors, specifically at the beach. We took the vehicle out last week and it did well.

Even managed to climb a few sand dunes without needing too much help. My son loves the way it drives and looks. The only complaint I have is that is was shipped in just the flimsy box like it would be shelved in the store.

The box was so beat up I was afraid the vehicle might be damaged. Thankfully, it was not.

Better than expected. I bought it for my 4 year old grandson. Not sure who has had more fun with it. Me or him. Lol. Climbs over gravel and mulch with ease. Pretty fast as well. Couldn’t be happier. Used it about 4 times so far.

I own the original stampede from 1994. I have beat the heck out of that truck and never broke a single thing on it. I got this truck and running the 2nd battery pack it bent the shock shaft. I noticed the shafts on the shocks are thinner than my original stampede.

Otherwise it’s a very good truck!.

I bought this for my son and I to build. The truck went together perfectly, and the quality of the kit is great. The included electronics are a great match, and the truck has plenty of power for off road, and plenty of speed.

The suspension works very nice. Very plush, and the truck handles great. I am considering buying another kit for myself now.

Fully upgradable everything for cheaper than other name brands. I’ve about completely made mine bulletproof now with upgrade alluiminum parts. I feel it was designed for use,& many ages. Product is simple to use but has great quality.

I love mine,& will for years to come!.

This Redcat Volcano EPX 1/10 scale RC truck is durable & very well built. 2 metal capped shocks per wheel, 4 wheel drive. Steering and drive component design make this one of, if not, the best 1/10 scale RC trucks on the market and it is well priced too.

Delivered on the date. Only problem was it was left behind the bin. This product cost over €300 and i was surprised it was left behind a bin for anyone to find. Product good. Battery doesnt last long so will order another one or larger one.

Website a little confusing for children looking at buying rcs. Lots of information. Maybe list compatible products together.

Vehicle looks amazing. Speed was somewhat slow and after a full battery charge my son had only about 10 minutes of use before the battery need to be recharged. Speed was about 10 mph. Not Impressed

This is an absolute piece of garbage. It broke after using it just 3 times. Just stopped charging. The warranty is for only 30 days. For this amount of money, I would expect a better warranty but probably the company knows these cars are garbage and want your repair dollars after your initial stupid purchase of the car.

I would never, never buy one of these again. What a waste of money.

Finally I could test my new Trx4 sport (I have the Traxxas Defender too). My opinion. Lighter than Defender Torque greater than Defender Slighty more strong and speedy Less beautiful and complete than Defender but its form and rear wagon let you the chance to adapt different available accesories as minibikes, boxes, etc and trailers obviulsy One speed only.

That is an advantage or maybe a black point. I don’t know. Better perfomance in slopes. I tested it in a 38 grade. Climbed it without problem Better wheel drive distance. More universal. That is a help if you want to adapt more aadifferentnbd different bodies.

I’ m going to install a Proline’s Ford 150 Raptor body. I’ m sure that with this body my Sport will look fantastic. I hope that the “eternal weak point of Traxxas” the servo , will be more durable and support hard condions of usage.

I could be suggest (after good and bad experiences) that to increase the life of the servo is better Does not Use lipo batteries of 5. 0 A and 11 V. In my simple opinion this batteries increase the risk of serious damages to servo abd esc of a Traxxas model.

Are more efficient the 3. 0 Amp Nimetal 7. 2 V. Obviusly give you less usage time but to long time are more durable y secure Thanks.

It is by far one of the best crawler you can by for a stock crawler it will out scale and out crawl any other trucks in its class recommend using a 7600 Millie amp battery. I love this product and would by another one thanks fracas for a great ride.

I love this truck I got the one with led lights upgraded the shocks added bearings to wheels , wheelie bar, motor fan and Esc fan also I added a 5800 mah lipo battery. Truck does 30 mph stock now it does 42 mph.

Before the upgrades it is still a great truck everyone likes it. I would recommend very durable. And parts are cheap.

Not having a lot of RC knowledge I relied on RC Planet specs and descriptions from their website. The two Traxxas brand trucks we bought for my grandsons were everything as described. The trucks showed up in record time and were ready out of the box to go Christmas morning.

Too bad Santa gets all the credit because they were a huge hit with the boys.

Love Traxxas Vehicles ! This Runs fast through all kinds of terrain. If you decide on a vehicle like this. Go the extra mile and take out the wheel Bushings and replace with wheel bearings. You will be Happy with it.
