20 Best Wavy Hair Gel (2022 Updated)

Ok so I’m highly regretting the fact that I purchased this in January and hadn’t used it till March because now I can’t get a refund. I’ve bought this cream three times before in 2020 and 2021. Loved it so much! It gave great moisture and left my hair soft all week till wash day.

Never had any problems. Finished my last bottle in February but didn’t use my new purchase till now. I knew the ingredients list looked different but didn’t really think it would matter too much. I was severely wrong! Has soon as I put it in my 3b curls it was sticky and didn’t have the same glide that it used too.

I paired it with the Not Your Mothers Mousse. Day 1 & 2 seemed fine and moisturized yet weirdly sticky in spots. Day 4 I had to detangle my hair and I had some hair in my brush but that’s normal. After detangling I put more cream and a bit more mousse on.

Day 6 is wash day and my hair is super dry! Like brittle dry. Had fell out while detangling, fall out while putting on deep conditioner Ann’s running my hands through my hair, and last bit of fall out while combing it out after rinsing deep conditioner off! Normally I never have so much fall out and my hair felt horrible till I used my trusted leave in and the fall out stopped.

Please be warned if you’ve used this in the past it is NOT the same product has before.

🌼 Curl Talk-NYM Cream and Gel🌼 products that all curly girls should try. 🌼 About the Styling Cream 🌟Smells just like the shampoo of the line. I don’t know how to describe the smell but it is very delicate.

🌟 It has protein. ⚠️ It didn’t work for me after the protein mask because it left my hair very hard and with the nutrition mask, it left it dry. I found the point when I realized that it is better to use it after a hydration mask.

The hair is soft and smooth with this cream just after the hydrating masque. ⚠️ It’s hard to find the point of quantity. I feel that I have to use a lot to feel that my hair is absorbing it. 🌟It is preferable to use it with well hydrated hair (I use leave in before putting it on) and literally wet!!! ⚠️If it’s not wet enough, you’re going to feel like you’re getting your hair kind of mushy.

🌟My hair bounces with this cream. I like it a lot because it gives it strength, also helps me with the difficult parts to define (specifically the crown area) and it leaves it soft. ⚠️It doesn’t help me with the frizz.

⚠️ It doesn’t get along with any gel, not even the one of NYM. It’s a mess. I still haven’t figured out which gel might work for me. ✨ Being rich in protein, I don’t feel like it’s for everyone. Perhaps it works much better for those with processed, damaged, high porosity hair.

🌼Gel ⚠️It doesn’t smell good but it doesn’t smell bad either😂 it’s weird. ⚠️Even though it says “medium hold” it’s very light but you still don’t have to use much to help with frizz. 🌟 It mix kind of weird with the cream.

🌟In my hair when I put it on, I feel like it dries it out but once it’s dry, it doesn’t feel hard. ⚠️ I didn’t like the gel because it’s as if the beauty left by the cream was destroyed by the gel. I feel that it tangles me and I find it difficult to define my hair when I use it.

🌼About both: ⚠️ Both come in 177 ml presentation. I got these 286ml ones in a Christmas Ulta promotion (not Ultra) with @thecurlpty. In the USA, it cost approx 14 dollars, with the girl each one came out at 23 dollars (yes, it’s expensive in Panamá).

🌟 It does lengthen your definition (at least 3 days wearing a satin hat) if you don’t wear a hat, not even the satin cover will help you. The definition is easily lost if the hair is not protected at night.

This stuff sells like hot cakes! If you see it in stock, definitely don’t hesitate to pick up a bottle or two, because it is super popular, as well as, being super affordable. This gel doesn’t have a super thick or super thin consistency at all.

It has that perfect consistency to right in the middle that makes it super easy to work with. This product has so sulfate surfactants, dyes, drying alcohols, silicones, mineral oil, parabens or phthalates in it (for all those that may be curious).

It has a pleasant smell. This product is designed to enhance the look of ones waves, curls or coils, plus, it can also be used for creating slicked back styles with two. Now, I do have very dry, fine textured, low density, wavy hair.

This styling gel doesn’t weigh my hair down in any way, or make it feel greasy in any way or make new hair feel super crispy or hard either. Yes, it most definitely does provide hold to ones hair, but it’s definitely not like a lot of these gels on the market that are so drying to the hair, till you can.

’the even rub your fingers through your hair after applying such or else your fingers will get stuck. Now, in order to gets lots of volume and major curl definition, you will need to use a diffuser. I let my hair airdry.

And, this product doesn’t take almost half the day or longer like a lot of other styling products that I have tried. I don’t personally practice the CGM, but if you are someone that does, this styling gel would be absolutely perfect to add into your regimen.

For all pf you out there that are tired of buying gems only to ha e them flake on you, even when they claim they won’t this gel truly does not flake up at all. This honestly is the best inexpensive drugstore gel that I have ever used.

And, no matter what type of curly hair you have, I truly can’t recommend enough that you definitely give this gel a try ASAP!.

I have tried many hair gels in the past and they always made my hair feel like it did in the 80’s when I was in middle school and my hair would be so crunchy, and gels tend to really dry out my hair.

When I saw this Zotos All About Curls High Definition Gel, I was extremely skeptical and was ready to immediately wash this out of my hair if I needed to. Omg, this gel is AWESOME!! Not only does it give my curly hair definition, it added shine, and I didn’t get that hard, crunchy feel! My curls literally POP with this, it’s my miracle in a bottle.

I clean my hair with the All About Curls No-Lather cleanser which gives my hair the moisture it craves without stripping out the oils my hair needs to stay moisturized, then I use their daily conditioner.

With my hair dripping wet, I use the It’s A 10 Coily leave-in conditioner, wrap my hair in a towel for 5 minutes to let it absorb, and then I put in the High Definition Gel. First, I flip my head down, apply a quarter-sized amount to the undersides of my hair, raking it through and scrunch.

Then, I flip my hair back and add another quarter-sized amount to the outside of my hair, rake it through and scrunch. I let it air dry and then I shake my hair out to get rid of the cast. This leaves me with gorgeous, defined, shiny, healthy-looking curls! The patients at the clinic where I work noticed the difference and have given me compliments since I started using this.

They ask me what I use and I recommend to them the entire line of the All About Curls products to try if their hair is curly and they need to get it healthy again without breaking the bank. I buy all my products at Sally’s Beauty.

My only complaint is that they are often out of stock with these products, so I have to go and get them two to three weeks before I run out to be sure my hair stays healthy and looks great. Please, Zotos, don’t EVER stop making these products! You have literally saved my hair!.

I have 3a curls. I used this product in combination with the low lather shampoo, cream conditioner, taming cream, and soft definition gel. I shampooed, combed the conditioner through my hair, then rinsed.

The shampoo/conditioner scents were a little strong and I didn’t love them, but my hair felt soft and clean afterwards, so that’s the most important. Coated my wet curls with the cream then the gel. Scrunched and air dried.

At first I felt like my hair was going to be “crunchy” but after about 3 hours of air drying it softed up well. Stayed pretty frizz-free throughout the day. I feel like these are priced well and I would use them again.

I’ve been looking for something ever since Pantene changed years ago and have finally found it! I used this last and it does dry a bit stiff but that’s ok because once you scrunch when it’s dried to break the cast it leaves beautiful soft touchable curls! First pic is first day and second pic is second day.

Doesn’t weigh down.

I have tried so many gels from lower price points to high end. I have 2C-3B curls, low porosity and regular porosity strands, shoulder length, and curly bangs. Lots of layers in my hair with the shortest being 2” on top.

I particularly love this gel because of its runny consistency, which makes it super easy to glaze and rake through the hair. On top of average 80%+ humidity in summer, I work a job that often causes me to sweat.

This gel holds up. I can get away with washing my hair once a week. When I need a refresh, I either simply add water which reactivates the gel or, around mid-week, dampen hair and add more gel. The cast created is buildable – less gel = softer curls with little cast, more gel = stronger cast.

I prefer a stronger cast with this product, so I use a dollar coin sized amount THREE times on each side of my hair, working in sections. I say this because some people think this gel doesn’t make a cast, but maybe they aren’t using enough product.

It is an expensive gel, but worth every penny for me.

I have been using this product for three years and I love it. Honestly you have to know exactly what your hair needs because It took me a while to figure it out but this is what I do. I have medium (thickness) curly hair.

I use a leave in conditioner, the curlsmith activator spray, curlsmith jelly, then Ouidad gel. It leaves my hair super shiny and soft with defined curls. This is not a product that I would recommend curly girls to use alone unless you have fine hair.

I think it would it would be a great product for someone with fine hair because it’s super lightweight and doesn’t weigh my hair down. I would not say this is “strong hold” I would say “soft hold”. So if you’re looking for shine, and something that won’t weigh down your curls, this could help.

Hope this helps. If you have thick hair you need to layer products. Sorry I also wish I could find one product that would do all of the things my hair needs but I have not found it yet.

This is the best curl crème I have found since they stopped making the Redken CCC spray gel. It is soft and not crunchy, but it holds curls. I am a 2B, 2C or 3A depending on products and humidity. I love this curl crème.

Bought this product on the suggestion on the person in Ulta. bad idea. This has absolutely no hold, so unless you’re just looking to control wavy hair, this will do nothing for you. I don’t entirely understand how the formulation could do anything for curls, as it is way too loose of a liquid.

Sorry, not for me.

This product did not provide defined curls as it states. I air dryed my hair and also tried using the diffuser on hair dryer and both ways my hair would come out frizzy and ugly looking. I would have to re-wash my hair and re-style it with other products before leaving house.

Or pull it up in a pony tail. I’ll be returning for a refund.

I have long fluffy wavy hair that is borderline curly. the type that instantly clumps and tangles when wet. The type that frizzes over the top at the crown, even if the rest looks decent. Well, naturally it all frizzes into a not-curly, not-straight hot mess.

So on too this wonderful product. As you know, with most all products, you need to pair it to complement and complete the look. I first apply a few globs of this to dripping wet hair, from tip to root.

Then I apply a quarter size or so of B&B Conscious Curls over Curl Keeper. Perfect match for this hot humid climate here in FL!! I use a large pick combing upside down. Squeeze a little excess water out with a tee shirt, and then spin sort of loosely on top of my head and leave clipped up while I do my makeup.

Then I let down and manipulate where I want my part. Let air dry 80-90%. then scrunch a little. Looks soft, yet I have well defined spirals everywhere! Lasts all day too. Use a fine spritz of water the second day and scrunch.

refreshed and wearable! Love this product! Never found anything else to work with the B&B. You do need to use lots of the Curl Keeper, but it’s SO worth it. Recommend!!.

This gel is just okay in winter, but it’s awesome for humid Missouri summers. I use it with Giovanni 2chic Pineapple shampoo and conditioner, as the Ouidad shampoo and conditioner have an ingredient my hair doesn’t like.

I use the Curly Girl application method. I can get at least an extra two days out of my hair with this gel and sometimes three. It reminds me of Biotera gel as far as making my hair feel moisturized rather than dry/crunchy, only it has more hold than Biotera.

After trying different products to find a replacement for the Deva gel I used for years, this will be my go-to gel in the summer.

Out of everything in this whole line and brand, this product was personally my favorite. The white Essential line has such a nice smell that’s very clean and citrus and refreshing (compared to the others that I despise).

However, it’s very soft hold. I live in Florida, and I was expecting a little more hold to be honest. I had beautiful hair the first day but the 2nd and 3rd my hair was “too soft” to last. Worth a try but again, with most curly hair products it’s trial and error.

This wasn’t for me.

I have 3a hair with some spots of 2c and 3b. Very fine, but very curly in some spots. I like a lightweight gel that can control the tight curls but not make the looser curls greasy and heavy. This stuff is perfect! Not greasy at all, no flaking, enough hold without being crunchy.

My hair feels soft and not dried out. The smell was pleasant when applying but isn’t overpowering and I don’t smell it all day. I’ve used Ouidad stuff in the past but have always tried other products because it’s just so expensive and requires a trip to the expensive beauty store.

This stuff is a great deal, and I can buy it at Target!.

I’ve used this a few washes now. The hold is not a 10 but I already knew that. Performance wise it’s actually quite nice. I like to take a small amount and rub it between my hands. Then I glaze over my wavy hair.

The gel is not sticky and very pleasant to work with. I use a lot but it’s so economical we don’t have to worry about that. I’ve put in a lot and my hair doesn’t become crunchy but there is a cast. My hair held its wave for about 2-3 days which is excellent.

Don’t forget to wear a bonnet at night ladies. I prefer to apply to sections in smaller amounts and go over each section twice. I find that I dispense product better but that’s just for me. I also like that it’s pink!.

I actually have the 16oz container… but I love this stuff!! It’s so affordable and it works so well! You do have to use a lot but I’m fine with that. My favorite part is that I can use it on my dry hair and it’s great for refreshes.

Makes my hair so shiny. Has a great hold and easy to scrunch the crunch out.

If I could give this product 100 stars I would. I have curly/wavy hair that almost reaches my waist and I was originally using the Devacurl stylers. However, those were really expensive and I had to use so much! I needed a cheaper alternative and bought this on the recommendation of some YouTubers.

I was not disappointed! This stuff is amazing!It has a very odd texture for a gel, it almost feels like a really thick glue, because it is pretty sticky. I use almost a handful of this on soaking wet hair and it never weighs down my curls or dries them out as long as I have a good leave-in conditioner.

It never leaves my hair crunchy or flakey and also works as a refresher when watered down a bit. You HAVE to try this if you are looking for a cheap curly styler!.

Love this product. I use it to enhance my curls after I have washed. I use about a 50 cent piece size before plopping my hair. After that I diffuse out. Makes my curls touchable without feeling crunchy like a mousse does.

I have fine hair that needs a bit of help to get the curl and volume I want, and this does it all. No more limp locks. No crunch. Holds curl so well while still leaving my hair touchable full and soft.

The best part. I wear my hair up a lot, and when I let it down at the end of the day, my curls are still frizz-free and full of touchable bounce! This is what you’ve been looking for to make unruly waves look like like intentional soft full curls!.

I used to use this brand before the formula changed, but I used to use their ultra defining gel. I was concerned previously because one of the Ingredients in the old formula had formaldehyde as a chemical byproduct, so I never used this.

It seems the brand worked with a dermatologist and now the ingredient was removed. I was willing to give this a shot because of the new formula and I love it. I get way more definition and because of the consistent curl pattern this creates- my hair shrunk about 2-3 inches depending on which curl you look at (my hair goes down to my butt and I have 3A and 2C curls).

Overall I’m so glad I came back to give this brand another chance and this product a first try!.

Yes! Her hair is fly-away frizzy with light curls like mine, and I think she’ll appreciate this as I do. Even when I unthinkingly put a cheap gel on first one day (that I usually layer on when my hair is dried), it came out great with the 2 products piggybacked! And the effect lasts a few days between washings.

I just need to fluff it up with a pic, even teasing parts a bit (I’m THAT old!) then smoothing over and applying hairspray. I did like the previous formulation better; I s’ppose the company got shamed into changing it (due to a TV documentary).

But this is a great product for my fine hair.

I have been an advid Deva Curl user for over 8 years and Love all of their products, and they have really took my hair to a place that I didn’t know it could go as far as health, shine and brilliancy.

However I am very disappointed with the replacement for the Very Popular and highly requested Arch Angel Gel. This gel, is not the same at all. It leaves my low porosity type 4b/c hair frizzy, dry, and FLAKY!Yes Flaky! My experience with the previous gel was the complete opposite.

I’ve tried this new gel 3 different ways, one of which I’ve stuck really close to the recommended instruction, and it does NOT work! Deva Curl, if you have some left over Arch Angel, please send it to me, or consider bringing it back as another Gel option.

I love this brand of gel because it holds well. It’s the only gel that holds my hair in it’s style for hours. The only thing I don’t like about this gel it gets super hard and creates flakes in your hair.

That’s only if you use too much. I try to use it a little but still, this happens but I am okay with it. It’s still a better brand than the others. This type of gel for some reason is hard to find in stores.

I only found this because it was online. They know it’s good because they jacked up the price.

Okay curly girls on a budget, this gel is for you. From looking at the bottle, you wouldn’t expect much, especially since it retails between $3-$4 dollars. But, this gel works. It has no silicones, no parabens, or sulfates.

They don’t promote that, but read the ingredients! It also gives a nice hold that doesn’t flake and pairs well with most leave in conditioners I’ve tried. Is it the best gel? No. And I definitely prefer some high end curly brands but it is still in my top 5.

why? Because it works without breaking the bank and can be found at most targets. So if you are just starting your natural curly hair journey but don’t want to break the bank, I definitely recommend this gel!.

I have multiple curl patterns. My patterns are 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, and 3c. Honestly; I think this product will work on any hair type. This is just my personal opinion. This product is bold when it comes to the hold! I can wear my hair in sleek or defined styles for at least a week; with minor touch ups.

Tying a scarf around your style before rest; will take it up a notch! I like the squeeze tubes so much better; you don’t have to dig your hand in a jar. Twist the lid back on with slippery hands. Personally have received plastic cuts from that! The numbers represents the strength; I believe.

This doesn’t contain alcohol; like most gels do! This product contains Aloe Vera; not only is this product strong hold but moisturizing as well. I’ve never experienced flaking with this product; it’s true to the no residue.

Once again; the hold is beyond 24 hours! I think this will be a forever product for me. !HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO MY CURLY BABES!.

Several months ago, after watching a bunch of YouTube videos of curly-haired women using Curlsmith products, I decided to try some on my own very fine, thin, low-porosity, 2b–3a hair. I purchased the Feather-Light Protein Cream, Weightless Air Dry Cream, Hydro Style Flexi Jelly, and the Bouncy Strength Volume Foam.

Curlsmith also inluded a free sample packet of Curl Defining Styling Souffle with the order. Since then, I have tried them all multiple times by themselves, varying the amount used, as well as combining some, trying to consistently get the best look I possibly could.

Since my hair is rather short—just touching my collar in the back—the trick is to not use too much of anything. Here are my conclusions: 1) Curlsmith does a very good job of describing their products.

2) I can pretty much use any of these products with good benefit during the fall/winter months of low humidity, with the exception of the Bouncy Strength Volume Foam. It is very good at giving volume, but it does inhibit curl formation for me, so I will have to figure out a way to use this one up.

3) I got the best curl formation with the Styling Souffle, but it doesn’t have sufficient hold to use routinely. 4) The Weightless Air Dry Cream doesn’t do much for my styling needs, so that also will be a challenge to use up.

5) The winner in my experiments was a combination of the Flexi Jelly and Feather-Light Cream. This is working well for me even during the humidity of Southern Indiana’s summer. Not to say that I get no frizz, but it is tolerable.

I end up with moisturized, shiny curls and waves in thin clumps that hold well enough, although I usually spray my hair with water and do a quick restyle each following morning, which usually turns out even better than wash day! I don’t need to add any more product—just water.

The products reactivate very well and also wash away completely with mild shampoo. Great! 🙂 This is my procedure: I wash my hair twice with a gentle, moisturizing shampoo (by Andalou Naturals), I skip conditioners, since they inhibit curl formation for me, I dry my hair with a T-shirt just until it doesn’t drip anymore, I take a pea-size amount of Flexi Jelly and a bit less of the Feather-Light Protein Cream and mix them together well by rubbing them between my hands.

I apply the mixture around the outside edges of my hair and distribute it as best I can, then I pull my hair outward from the center of the top of my head, exposing the tops of my hairs and repeat with an additional, but smaller amount of the product combination, until every hair is coated.

I brush it all by sections, pulling outward from my head with a Denman vent brush (not the brush most curly women seem to use, because that one pulls too many of my very few hairs out in the process), I shake my head and crunch to encourage the curls to form, which they do in a natural way.

As my hair air dries, I shake my head back and forth and up and down periodically to help encourage some separation that adds volume. When fully dry, I crunch out the cast, and I am done. Sorry I have used so many words, but I hope this will help other Curly Girls (and guys) who, like me, have few, very fine hairs, so can’t pile on all the products most of the curly people on YouTube use.

I really hate to see negative reviews on this product , I know products work differently for everyone. This product alone will not destroy your hair. It will benefit it tremendously and you will have healthy curls or wavy hair.

Curly hair is prone to dryness because it doesn’t hold the water, so we end up needing to use products to help with the up keep of hydration and moisturization. The ingredients are amazing for curly hair.

Very hydrating and nourishing, and the hyaluronic acid seals the water in our curly hair cuticles, this is what initially drew me into the product. I love that it is a leave in conditioner as well as an air dry cream.

Honestly the price is not bad for what you would typically spend for a 3 step system of a leave in, curl cream, curl gel. To reference my hair is a mix of 3b/3c hair. I wash once a week with shampoo and conditioner, add a leave in , sometimes use a gel, and lastly will use either olaplex bonding oil, curl smith bonding oil, or Moroccan oil.

Through the week I workout Monday-Friday, and I can not stand to have sweaty hair and curly hair products are too expensive just to go through. I need my hair routine to be really simple fast and easy as I have to go to work afterwards.

This product has done just that for me! I will wash my hair after my workouts with a cleansing conditioner and then proceed to part my hair in three sections. First I detangle my hair and then add in the cream ( Amount depends on your hair type and texture) from root to end , I then take my Ez detangler or Felica Leatherwood detangler brush and brush side ways in in a curling motion to my ends.

I do it very slowly and gently as I want the defined curls with out the breakage. As the last step , I will add a little bit more cream and do the praying hands method as it really encourages my hair for those bouncy pretty healthy curls.

If this is not your preferred method for defined curls that is okay, I would definitely recommend to still section, get a water spray bottle and after each section finger roll or coil the curls. I say this product is for everyone because it truly is, my daughters has a completely different hair type and hair texture than mine.

She is a toddler so of course her hair will change over time. Currently, her hair is straight at the top with big ringlet curls at the bottom. I don’t do the same method for her hair as I do mine, because it is not needed or appropriate for her hair.

I do want to encourage her hair to be healthy and more on the curly side. Fortunately, this product has been doing a great job with helping me to get those results. I wash and shampoo her hair once a week , I add just a small bit for her hair as it goes a long way, and add in very lightweight oil to the ends of her hair.

I will also add the joico heat protectant before blow drying. Through the week I will just add water and a small amount of this leave in. I love it because her curls form so well, and she’s not left with soaking wet hair as the air dry time is faster for the both of us now , but it does not dry our hair out.

Like I said it’s an amazing product of you know how to use it.

I want to revoke my previous review of this product. so. this product DOES work really well, at least for me. once i learned how to use it for my hair. I can’t use it as directed. on a whim I tried it this morning the way I feel works best for my hair and its WORKED! It worked BEAUTIFULLY.

literally got the exact reaults I’ve been trying to get from trial and error from other products since i started my wavy curly hair journey. this is how I use it for my fine, low porosity, 2b/2c, chin/shoulder length hair: (I do this entire routine with my head upside down) apply the air dry leave in cream to soaked hair (not so wet that water its still gushing off strands but still fully wet), then I use my microfiber towel to blot and softly scrunch waves/curls into their natural respective sections until hair is between wet and towel dried, then using the praying hand motion is apply a quarter sized amount of the jelly starting at the back and then sides of my head, then another quarter sized amount for the front end what’s left on my hands I gently scrunch upward to make sure the ends are well covered, then while still upside down I diffuse my hair to 80% and let the rest air dry and settle, once its been 100% dry for about 20 minutes i scrunch out the cast.

my waves/curls are so soft but defined and shiny. again, I take back my previous negative review. this was total operator error.

This product gives really, really good curl definition! I just checked in the mirror after letting it dry fully and my once “weak” , non-defined looking waves look way more defined, soft, shiny, and bouncy! It looks like my curls are headed into ringlets! But, my hair is too short for the ringlets to form.

Strangely, I don’t get a curl pattern towards my scalp, only in my ends, but this has nothing to do with the product. The one thing it doesn’t have is frizz control, which is no big deal to ME since I have a frizz control product.

My hair type: My hair type is fine, thin, and wavy(2a-2b). I sometimes get ringlets(2c-3a) underneath my hair. My application method: After shampooing(Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo) and applying leave in conditioner(Jessicurl Aloeba Daily Conditioner), I apply two globs of gel into my hands and rub them together, then I use the “praying hands” method to cover both sides of my curls, then I scrunch the gel into my hair.

I then flip my hair back over, part it, and patiently let it air dry without touching the curls. (All of this is done in soaking wet, pre-detangled hair. ).

ive always been a mousse chick, and ive been loyal to a certain brand for over 20 yrs, however for some reason they decided to stop making my brand. Now with that being said i purchased this just to try it out.

Im not your regular type hair gal ive got thick naturally curly hair, thats never been permently colored. im very picky about the chemicals i out in my hair. It took me yrs to fined my hair products each one being picked very carefully because i care how my hair looks feels and smells.

And to my surprise Aussie insta freeze has found a permanent home on my beuty shelf. It not only does what it says but even after sleeping it still looks good the next day.

I have been using Aussie Instant Freeze gel since it’s pretty highly recommended as a curly girl approved option. I apply it to my wet hair after showering, plop in a microfiber towel for a while, and then let it air dry completely before scrunching out the cast.

My hair is naturally fine, wavy/curly, and the gel definitely helps my curls hold all day. I personally don’t like the way gel feels, especially globbing it into wet hair, but I really can’t argue with the results.

Mousse and creams usually aren’t strong enough. If I want even tighter curls, I’ll use a diffuser instead of air drying.

This gel is incredibly cheap (price wise) it has some hold but I wouldn’t use the word Mega here anywhere. If you attempting a style that requires a great deal of hold (such a mohawk or longer spikes) this will fall flat for you.

it doesn’t have enough hold for that kind of job. Now if you want finger waves, or curly baby hairs or just want to have your curls retain their shape it is good for that (though you are looking at crunchy feeling and possibly stiff ringlets) this is also wonderful for slicking back the hair for a tight bun or ponytail! I know that my teenage niece swears by this stuff for her natural lightened twa or like right now for her synthetic sew in curls (yes it works just fine for synthetic or human hair.

just use sparingly it will leave some hair sticky after application) just beware if you have even slighty dark colored hair, when this dries it leaves dandruff like flakes visible in the hair! (I suggest adding a little water to your application it will help with this problem) I used to use this back in high school.

but after I stopped heat treating and started taking better care of my natural hair (I try to only use strong chemicals in my hair when I bleach and dye it neon) I stopped using it because it has a lot of chemicals I hear gels like this can cause more split ends and breakages in your hair (don’t know how true that is) and I also know that the chemicals even if not harmful to the hair are not natural and are not providing anything good to my hair or scalp.

This also cause buildup pretty quickly so for everyday use that could/would require more frequent washing/clarifying. Overall I say you can’t get a better price, you can for sure get a better hold though.

This doesn’t smell too bad, is slimy to the touch and quite cold if left in a cool place (this can feel soothing near the scalp) You can find this almost anywhere (hair stores, beauty supply shops, drugstore.

) comes with a whole lot in the bottle, and could be considered a feally good deal as it performs well with the exception of certain styles I mentioned before. Sorry for the super long review! Would recommend to people interested after reading above ⬆🖒.

This is my favorite gel! I’ve been using it for years and recently Bed Bath and Beyond is the only store that carries #8. I was very happy to find out there is still a store that carries this #8 since it is the only one that still leaves flexibility in the hair when dry.

I get compliments all the time on my hair and get asked what I use. When I tell people I let them know Bed Bath and Beyond is the only store that carries this #8 gel that offers flexible hold. I appreciate this store always offers coupons and even free shipping.

I’ve used this brand of styling gel for years. The newer products with higher numbers, don’t seem to have better holding power than those with lower numbers. Perhaps they have changed the formula. #9 is rarely stocked in stores anymore.

It works best on my fine hair which blows in the wind if I don’t use it. You rub it into your hair after you shampoo while your hair is still wet. When your hair dries, the hair stays where you combed it until you run a comb or brush through it to take the stiffness out.

It will last for about 2 days. It is water soluble and non-greasy. And it is also inexpensive. One bottle will last me more than a month. The squeezable bottle allows you to use every bit of it. I store it upside down to make dispensing easier.

I love the scent and texture of this product and it works great for my natural 3b curls BUT I cannot get past day one hair with this product. I’ve used it with different products and alone and NOPE…every single time by the next day my curls turned into a frizzy weighed down mess sadly.

I can use other Cantu products with no problems and I really wanted this to work if only I could get past the first day my curls would be poppin! (even using a Satin bonnet didn’t help with getting passed day 1 and using a curl refresher or water made it worse) And just to add for my day one curls this made a excellent one and done product….

wonderful definition etc so this might be great for someone who’s looking for that in a product. Off to a friend this product goes.

Tried this product on my 4A hair and it was beautiful. Most of the Cantu products dry my hair out and it leaves a horrible buildup w/ flaking after twisting. They got this one right! I’ve read the comments and noticed a few of the negative reviews and this product works great after a deep penetrating conditioner, then a leave in conditioner with oil before you apply this product.

I use Taliah Waajid The Great Detangler & the African Healing Oyl and this works great with the Cantu Flaxseed smoothing cream gel. It doesn’t feel like a gel. It’s creamy with the aloe, honey, shea butter & vitamin E your hair is left feeling silky smooth and light.

Don’t apply too much or your hair will shrink. I think it works better on dry hair and you can apply more the next day to stretch the hair. The scent is like a floral, lavender citrus not bad.

I have fine 3b hair and this gel defines my curls well without leaving them looking dry. It goes on very smooth and feels almost silky on my hair. Initially my hair is very shiny. Once fully dry, if I mess around with my hair too much I do notice some flaking.

My hair line will start looking dusty. I find this gel works best if I’m going to leave my curls out. It has very little hold so it won’t totally keep my hair back if it’s up in a bun.

It claims to be an oil-gel hybrid that moisturizes, defines, and elongates curls. 3 MONTH REVIEW: I have coarse + 3A type curls. The texture is SO unique! It is a very thin + runny consistency (hence, the oil like feel).

It’s got great slip and hydrating ingredients so it’s easy to work into the hair or rake on top of your curls to set your style. However, I have noticed that it does not layer well with all products – Specifically emollient ones.

It tends to create build up and small white flakes throughout your hair if products underneath are too heavy. After diffusing it gives a 3. 5/5 hold with it’s finishing cast. I find my wash day typically last 3 days with this gel.

Personally for my curl type I was looking for more hold but if you’re looking for extra hydration in your routine this would be great!.

I was wary about using this product at first since my hair is fine and long (my hair texture is 2C-3A). I’ve tried so many shampoo conditioners for textured hair that just end up weighing my hair and curls down.

I was pleasantly surprised this did the opposite. The conditioner itself was pretty light weight but gives you moisture. Just make sure to leave it in for the allotted time or longer. Once I do that I can run my fingers through my hair and detangle it easily.

I used this in conjunction with the shampoo and it gave me voluminous well defined moisturized curls.

on a hunt for a new cowash/cleansing conditioner since my HG one has been discontinued and decided to give this a try. pleasant surprise! my hair is loving this cleansing conditioner. yes it does have silicones in it but they don’t seem to weigh my hair down.

I love that it does lather and foam up a little bit so it doesn’t feel like you’re cleansing with pure conditioner. I have a sensitive scalp and this hasn’t caused any issues there. since using my curls are more manageable, less frizzy, and definitely shinier.

I have also noticed a lot less breakage and hair fall out in the shower since using. and my baby hairs have started growing. there’s no strong sent and it doesn’t strip your hair at all. but leaves it feeling nicely cleansed.

highly recommend trying!.

For guys / gals with hair that doesn’t like to cooperate I found that this hair gel will hold onto your hair for dear life. The amount of hold this gel gives is absolutely insane in comparison to other gel brands.

The only downside to such a great product is that after several hours the gel starts to flake off of your hair. Other than that 8/10.

After reading the description saying no flakes I bought this product. It was true as long as you washed it out after the first day. If you go more than a day without washing your hair it will be extremely flaky afterwards.

The hold is very good and not very stiff. It is great for anyone with less than 1 inch long hair. At 2 inches it holds the hair pretty well but it will sink a bit after 15 minutes or so. In this case, apply the gel, wait 15 minutes and reapply gel and you should be good.

The tub is definitely a lot and it seems worth the price for such a quantity. Kinda hard to travel with such a big tub. It won’t fit in your shaving bag. Warning, this stuff is fairly thin so if the tub is turned over, turn it right side up and wait 10 seconds or so for it to sink back to the bottom.

Also the lid is a little too easy to remove so if you are traveling with it, put it in its own plastic bag.

I have tried most hair products but this does do what it says its called miss selling you can not spike your hair with this item also it left my hair greasy. If your hair is flat all good otherwise if you want to style your hair how you want get gummy wax it will never let you down.

I am pretty brand loyal when it comes to my haircare, but every now and again if a product is amazing enough from another line , I will cheat on my usual and dip into the other line for that product.

This is one of them The Moroccan Oil Treatment oil, which I feel is their most popular product that lead the way for this brand I think lol yes it is expensive, yes I get it cheaper because I am a liscenced professional lol but, when it comes to these higher end hair products , usually,you get what you pay for.

It is worth the expensive price tag. There are some expensive hair products that I feel are not worth it and are way too overpriced for what they actually do and I am always very honest in my reviews on hair care because I live and breathe hair , its my profession, its what I love and I love to help people achieve hair they love, so if that means being honest and saying hey this product isnt worth it or its crap OR hey , this is not a brand I retail at work BUT Ive used it and I love it and recommend it even if u need to buy it elsewhere and I dont really achieve much for myself, what I want to achieve is to educate people on hair hair products and what works for them.

So I am always honest when clients ask me about Moroccan oil. that no we dont carry it but it is something I love and use everyday. it gives my hair amazing shine, it makes it feel soft and silky and just glides on over those little split ends like they are there, it helps tame frizz and flyaways and its a treatment that actually is beneficial to your hair.

The bottle is on the small side but a little goes a LONG way unless you want to look like you stuck your hair in some grease than by all means lol but seriously a tiny bit, rub in your palms and rub jtno your hair , focusing on the ends and midshaft scalp will just make u oily I have naturally curly hair that is prone to dryness, it gets frizzy , its thick.

I use the regular Moroccan oil treatment but there is also a light for those with finer hair , more oily , sleek type ,thinner hair that this regular one might be a little heavy for. I also apply this to dry hairz over my midshaft and ends when I feel they could use a little TLC.

If theyre looking a little dry maybe just a little bit of this run through it and it will make your hair feel all soft and loveable again. I like the smell, it isnt anything strong or overpowering. This is the only hair product I do use from Moroccan oil, I am sure they do have other good products but at that price point and already being happy with my current hair care routine, Ive never felt the need to try them and I feel that this product here is their Holy Grail so to speak, like the 1 amazing stand out product where they are at the top of their game.

When I saw this product, I thought I would give it a try. I normally use a mousse to help define my curls, but I’m always looking for something new or better to use. This product smelled great, and had some eye-grabbing text like “Frizz Free” and “Elongating” – I don’t know if I misinterpreted the text, or if I was just too hopeful.

Unfortunately, this product was way too sticky to even be able to run the product through my hair to try and even it out. After one application, I had to rewash my hair because it did not want to comply at all.

It felt extremely heavy on my hair as well, which is the opposite of what I wanted. The smell was great – this product just did not work my hair type, and I didn’t like the feel. I’m sure it would be great for someone else though! Just because it didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean it won’t for others.

The benefits, if correct on the label, would be great! I would definitely tell someone to try it out, I just, unfortunately, did not have the best luck with it.

I have really enjoyed using my Maui Moisture Hair Styling Frizz – Free + Shea Butter Elongating Gel. This is a pretty fantastic product that not only works but smells absolutely amazing. I love that this is a vegan product and contains no parabens or silicones.

This is a truly a great product that really is extremely moisturizing. I love how it actually helps to elongate and define my curls. I’m also very impressed by the way this gel helps to tame and eliminate frizz.

I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking a great hair product.

Been struggling with my usual products after they ‘improved’ it and was left with a coarse, frizzy mess which nobody wants. Stumbled across Noughty and thought I had nothing to loose and I’m so happy I did.

From day one my hair was softer and curls/waves more defined with visibly less frizz. A few washes in now and my hair has been transformed. You only need a small amount of shampoo for a great lather and feeling clean, small amount of conditioner goes a long way and allows me to comb out the tangles before rinsing out.

Hair scrunched to remove the water and hair in micro fibre towel whilst getting dressed. Curl jelly (about large 5p size) added and scrunched in to my hair and left to air dry and my hair looks amazing.

I have used a diffuser aswell with good results. Looking forward to the warmer weather where I am sure it will look even better still. Thank you Noughty.

It’s definitely lightweight, sticky-free, non-flaky, and a medium hold gel. I think my hair type needs a stronger hold to keep my curls defined for a longer time. Otherwise, it does exactly what it says in the description! It doesn’t leave any crunchy cast on my hair.

I have a mixture of 3A curls and some 2C waves, fine hair, medium density, and long hair (bra-line length), so I feel I have to use a whole lot of jelly in order to get the look of curls I want on a wash day and with as little frizz as possible.

In other words, it gives me hydrated, shiny curls/waves. My waves hold up no problem, but a few curls kinda “fall out. ” Other advice out there will say that if you stay consistent on your new hair routine, the results will only get better, so I still really like this product and will recommend it to others.

It just may be better -for me and my hair type- as a refresh day product for now. When I use the jelly on a wash day, it works better when I do a clarifying shampoo in my routine.

I LOVE my Noughty scrunching jelly! It adds extra shine to my hair because of it’s mild moisturizing capabilities and how well it locks in moisture. While I say it is moisturizing, it’s not OVERLY doing it, I can still add my other products with no worries of over moisturizing.

This jelly has amazing hold! It keeps my waves and curls bouncy, while holding them together. The scent isn’t too strong. I also love how light weight it is, you can barely tell you have products in! This gel is perfectly balanced and I reccomend it for everyone to try!.

I think this is an okay gel but not great for the price. I have 2c/3a hair and I used it along with another gel and it’s helped with hold and seems to keep my hair moisturised. The smell is pretty bad though – like lemon bleach/disinfectant and the whole room stunk after I used it.

However it seems to have faded a few hours after washing and my hair still faintly smells of lemon but I can now also smell the other products I used (which I couldn’t before as the lemon was so overpowering and pungent).

The texture is also odd like a raw eggy yellow vibe but if you can get over the texture and smell then I think it’s a decent gel but I probably wouldn’t buy it again. You can definitely get a wide range of better gels for less money.

This product has been a game changer for me. I normally avoid gels, as they tend to form crispy hard strands of curls. This gel couldn’t be more different. I can’t rate it highly enough. I have very thick type 2C-3A hair, medium porosity, and I’m growing it from a buzzcut, so you can imagine how difficult the transition is.

Not with this gel! Also, follow their own instructions on how to use it, it makes a huge difference. When it dries, it does form hard strands, but you just gently scrunch your hair, and it instantly transforms into soft, defined, moisturised, shiny, bouncy curls.

I only with I had found this product before, but I did a ton of research before trying any gel, and this was the right one!.

Overall I’m really disappointed with this product and would definitely not buy it again. The smell is gorgeous however it is not much of a gel as it does not hold my curls in place very well and I find I still need some of my old curl gel (twisted sister) which is much cheaper but frankly a far better product all round to give my curls a bit more weight.

I have medium curls which are not extremely tight or loose so I thought this would be the perfect product for me. When I asked about refunding/exchanging the product I was met with a response that I would have to pay for the postage myself which I wasn’t particularly happy about.

As this would’ve cost me about £4 I thought there was no point bothering so I am sticking it out with a product that isn’t very useful. For the price and the brand, I had high expectations for this gel and have been me with extreme disappointment so I would definitely not recommend this and considering that this is part of my first ever order from Boucleme, it is a real pity.
