20 Best Wavy Hair Mousse (2022 Updated)

I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use.

This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. For reference I have fine textured 2C/3A curl pattern hair and I like products that enhance the definition without weighing down my hair too much sacrificing volume, which I feel this product did well.

I applied it (as I typically do with cream products) on soaking wet hair under gel and diffused it dry. A little goes a long way on my hair type and I used a pea sized amount on two sections with good results.

This product has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc.

as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it.

I will continue to use and would recommend to others.

I received this as a sample to try out, and let me say, as a natural curly haired girl I am always looking for a new holy grail curl product. I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far.

My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I went about my usual schedule and was pleased to see my curls still stayed together throughout the course of my day.

It also made my hair superrr soft which is always a nice addition. Although this product is great for defining your curls, I had to give it 4 stars as I found it was lacking in the hold department and it did not do much to combat additional frizz.

I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product.

I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually.

Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots.

Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream.

I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel.

A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual.

My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸.

I have natural curls that are fine and need some help to stay throughout the day. I use this on top of my Moroccan oil curl cream. Only a small amount is needed, size of a golfball. It doesn’t disintegrate in your hand so it’s easy to work into the hair.

Smells amazing and gives a lovely shine. Only a slight cast which was easy to scrunch out. Will repurchase.

I love this stuff. I don’t normally write reviews for products, but I’m a person who has bone-straight, thin, boring hair that refuses to hold a curl for longer than 20 minutes, even with a can of hair spray.

The best I can hope for is some sort of volume when I style my hair on a daily basis. Otherwise my hair just falls flat. I use a golf ball size of this mousse (which is about what comes out for a light pump, so be careful!) for my long hair.

I try to avoid my roots and just do my lengths and ends, using whatever residue is left on my hairs on the crown for some consistency, and then I dry my hair using a diffuser (maybe in the warmer months I will try to air dry and see how that goes).

This doesn’t do magical things to my hair, but it gives me just enough texture that my hair looks thicker, it gives it that piecey, beach-wave look. Nothing crazy, and by mid-morning my hair is mostly straight again, but still has that perfect texture to it where if I run my hands through my hair, it fluffs up again into some beach waves.

For my hair, which NEVER responds to mousses, I love the texture. The smell is ok. I do not find that this makes my hair crunchy at all. However, at the end of the day, because of the texture, it’s a beast to comb out.

I also think it has helped my hair be a little less greasy in the morning before a shower. Overall, I really like it, l’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my hair since using it, and will continue to buy.

I have tried soooo many curl mousses and this is by far my favorite. I have 2c/3a curls so I needed a lightweight product that wouldn’t weigh down my hair. After washing my hair I use a leave-in conditioner, heat spray, and this mousse for definition.

I scrunch the product in and dilute with a spray bottle of water and then rescrunch it. Then I use a diffuser and end up with absolutely gorgeous loose curls. Don’t forget to scrunch the crunch! Though truth be told, this product is less crunchy than others which is nice.

I do wish they had a gel to go with this mousse to help hold the curl longer. On days 2/3/4 I usually spray more water on my hair and rescrunch the curls to define them again. Even without the extra hold I still live this product because it’s the only one that has worked to give my curls definition and volume without weighing them down or making them greasy.

I received this product free for my honest review. I have been using this for about a week now and have noticed that my hair has more volume, bounce, and softness. However there isn’t the curl definition I was hoping for with a mousse titled curl and wave defining.

That being said I do enjoy the benefits I have noticed and will definitely continue to use this product. I am unsure if I will purchase more when it runs out since my current focus is on defining my curls.

I typically have 2b wavy hair and depending on products I use on my hair and the environment I often have 2a or 2c hair. I was hoping for a solid 2c using this product. If anything this helps combat the 2a for more of the day then without it.

I still notice my curls loose their oomph by the end of the day. I would recommend this to someone just looking for a mousse that provides volume and bounce, but if you are looking to enhance curls I’d say try elsewhere.

Let me start by saying, if you have fine/thin hair, or if your hair is otherwise easily weighed down, this product is not for you. That being said, when used on the appropriate hair types (coarser/thicker types with a natural curl pattern), this product is amazing! I use Moroccanoil first on my hair, then apply a small amount of my Redken curl cream, and end with whatever mousse or gel I’m using.

With this product, I can skip the curl cream and still have well-defined, non-frizzy curls! I have to stress you only need a SMALL AMOUNT of this product; do NOT put your regular-sized glob of mousse in your hand! Scrunching like normal after applying is important too, even though you don’t end up with the same crunch as other products.

That took me some getting used to–remembering to still scrunch even though the texture was different.

This is my favorite curl mousse! I have fine combination hair (oily roots and dry ends). My hair is somewhere between straight and wavy, I’d say about 2A hair type. I’ve tried many curl and wave mousses and this is my fave.

I used to use this years ago but forgot about it and decided to try it again a month ago and so glad I rediscovered it. First off its super affordable, only cost about $3 at walmart. Another positive is the scent, it has a nice pretty scent that lasts but isn’t overpowering.

Its the perfect amount of hold, not too light that my hair falls flat a few hours later but no too much that my hair look and feels stiff. My hair has nice soft movement but holds the wave/curl. I put this in my hair, scrunch it, then let it Air dry and it gives me nice enhanced waves/curls and holds throughout the day, and doesn’t look like I used a heavy product or too much product.

If u use too much it will give u a wet look but just start with one golf ball size and add more if needed but shouldn’t need much more than that. I always reccommend this to people to atleast try, for the price u can’t beat it.

Does enhance curls some but leaves hair sticky – if you read the ingredients – basically scented sugar water. If you try to get rid of the crunchy stickiness even with fingers it just pulls the curls out.

This product is a big miss. I’ve used other salon quality curl enhancing products that do not do this – it is not just to be expected.

With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying. I’ve been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I’ve ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good.

I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency.

I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn’t take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry.

I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can’t do without.

Granted, I haven’t used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it’s a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it’s a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white.

I ordered this on a promotion, and went in with mid level expectations. I typically use the Climate Control gel because I live in Florida and ya girl needs humidity protection, so I figured this mousse would give me a light hold that would last maybe a day.

Well it’s well into day 2 and my curls still look amazing! I used this mousse yesterday in addition to a leave in conditioner and that’s it. I am so surprised by the hold level of this mousse, it’s quite soft but I have great definition and spring.

I did have to use quite a bit of the product to coat my hair but I think that’s a price I’m willing to pay. Also, it smells wonderful in my opinion.

I used the bowl method with this product and WOW! I can’t believe how my hair went from obviously damaged sad loose and frizzy curls to bouncy curls I haven’t seen in 10 years. It is pricey but I have yet to find such a light mousse like this one.

Most curly products weigh my hair down and make it feel stiff and like it needs to be washed. HIGHLY recommend if you have been straightening your hair and trying to get your curls back.

This is a great mousse. It was just what I was expecting when I bought it. I’m my opinion it is a little expensive. I used this product for wash and go’s and on my braids and had good results with both.

I love this product. I used to have the worst time getting my hair in line as it is kinky and curly. But this product keeps my curls in line. They’re not crunchy and the smell is awesome. Not overly expensive.

Now the mousse does leave that sticky feeling on your hands as you’re putting it in but totally worth it to keep my crazy curls in line.

Works amazing for braided styles! Keeps hair moisturized and prevents fly aways from the hair. I have used this on my natural hair as well, and it works pretty great! It holds my 2 strand twists and curs perfectly and doesn’t dry my hair out.

I have very thick, dense 3A-3B hair (not entirely sure which, I’m still learning to style it properly after years of straightening). When I first got this product, I used it as advised by putting it on my hair while it was still damp after getting out of the shower.

I’m not sure where it went wrong, because all the videos I’d seen of people using it that way had great results, but my hair just clumped together into very pathetic, “crispy” chunks with only a slight wave, even when using only a small amount.

I set it aside, disappointed, and had barely touched it since (each time equally underwhelming). until I saw a video Brad posted of him reacting to reviews of his products. Someone in the video had the exact same issue I had with wavetech, but then they discovered that it worked GREAT if they put it in their hair while it was dry instead of wet.

So I tried that. And it works! My hair is soft and holds its shape, and it’s great for reviving my curls after they start to lose volume. So now, my only real complaint would be the fragrance. I understand it’s popular and many people like it, but I find it to be incredibly strong, and it gives me a runny nose from allergies.

Once you put it on your hair and it dries, the fragrance isn’t so strong, but it does take on a different and rather unpleasant smell. If you have ever used liquid latex, it’s very similar! Overall I would say I’m glad I got this product as it saves me from having to rewet my entire head just to revive my curls, but I wish it had a different fragrance or there were a scentless option.

I’ve used a few products in the past promising to define my wavy/curly/cavewoman hair that have left much to be desired. I thought that might be the fate of Wavetech, too. I’ve seen the videos of Brad reacting to users’ results, so I decided to give it a shot.

The first go-around, I opted to comb it into my wet locks, scrunch and diffuse dry. Frizzy mess with very little cur definition. The next time, I combed it into my wet hair, scrunched and let it air dry.

Slightly better results, but even my wide-tooth comb broke up my curls into very small sections, and it just didn’t look pretty when dry. The third time, I decided to comb conditioner through my hair and make it ultra smooth before rinsing.

When I got out of the shower, I skipped the comb altogether and just used my hands to work Wavetech through my length and ends, scrunch a bit, and let it air dry. To be clear, I did this while my hair was still slicked back from the shower rinse, I didn’t comb/brush/part it AT ALL.

The results this time were AWESOME. My hair doesn’t come out quite as voluminous as those viral videos would have you believe (and I truly believe those girls are taking a curling iron to fix stray pieces before showing off the final “result”), but the curls are there and defined, frizz is minimal, and my hair is actually presentable without needing to heat style it.

I’m still trying to figure out how to sleep on it without ruining all the curl, but I have gone back and re-wet any flat sections and reapplied Wavetech to those spots for a refresh, and that worked well.

The reason I didn’t give it five stars is really two-fold: following the directions as stated on the bottle did NOT work for me. I had to play around with it and find how my hair would best react. Second, I REALLY HATED the smell at first.

It was reminiscent of a man’s body wash when I first smelled it and I was not into it. I’ll say I’ve grown to like it. Try Wavetech and play with how to use it. I think you’ll like it.

The day I purchased this product, I had just gotten a glaze done on my hair after being dye free almost a year, and growing out my natural color/grays. I wash my hair once a week – alternating shampoos and conditioners.

All three uses below started with a base of Maui Moisture Curl Quench Control + Coconut Oil Curl Smoothie as my leave-in conditioner. The first time I used it I was amazed because it created such a nice cast on my curls, and did not get frizzy, even after diffusing.

What I love is that my hair is moveable when I use this. I can play with the curls and nothing gets crazy on me. What I don’t like is that it does not hold volume, and on day two, I had no curl left – as it was.

So, day 2 I rewet it and scrunched in my Maui Foam Mouse in for more curl hold. This was routine throughout the week, and at the end, I could feel some buildup. Par for the course. The second time I used it, I used a bit less and added the Maui Foam Mouse.

Again, the XMondo kept it hydrated, kept it smooth, and moveable and the Maui did help to enhance volume, and retain the curls better throughout the day. That week I kept rewetting with some leave-in condition in my water – and it worked well.

But the volume deflated and the curls weren’t as curly. This third time I washed, I did not use the XMondo. I put in my Maui Smoothie, and my OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Curling Perfection Curl-Defining Cream, and air dried.

On day 4, I soaked my hair and added the Maui Foam Mouse and diffused. The curl and volume were amazing, my hair was shiny, no frizz, great cast on the curls, and it was movable! They held all day and I was like, huh? I don’t think the movement, shine, and anit frizz had any thing to do with the XMondo product – it was the result of the glaze! However, I will note that my hair does not feel as soft, day 5, as it has after using XMondo – so it does offer a moisture content that holds up, that my products do not.

I always recommend allowing your hair to dry fully before touching it. This product saturates your hair really well and thus takes a while to dry. I always use a light hydrating mist leave in or very light creamy textured one.

I then apply this styling mousse and a hair oil. I allow to air dry and then I toss and fluff my curls. If you want a slight bit more hold I would suggest another product OR make your own simple flaxseed gel and mix both the mousse and gel.

This will give you defined, juicy curls. Pls keep in mind that flaxseed gel goes bad quickly so you have to keep in the fridge and use often. It’s super easy to make and worth the fridge cold gel feeling.

This is a mousse that is essentially a styler and mousse. Its claim is to help with frizz free waves/curls, making them crunch free and softer. Having stick straight hair I was a little 😬 when I received it, but I am also a victim of the early 2000’s crunchy scrunched hair, so I figured I’d give it a go, hoping I could create some scrunch/waves without the crunch.

When I used it the first time, I was pleasantly surprised by the smell (a tropical punch/mango scent) and how it came out very easily. I’ve tried mousses in the past that come out in sparse globs. Or that mousse that comes out way more than you intended.

The first time I tried using it on wet hair from root to ends and attempted to scrunch my hair. I let it air dry and I wasn’t happy with the results. My hair looked a little more textured, slightly tangled, and it was also sticky and my waves didn’t hold on my straight hair.

The 2nd time I tried using it to just add volume to my straight hair. I blow dried this time. Again, it didn’t really provide much lift and my ends seemed more dry than usual. This just isn’t the product for someone with really straight hair.

Love the smell, love the ease of use, would possibly recommend only for someone that has wavy/curly hair.

First off, people are giving this product wayyy to much hate. Maybe their expectations are higher than mine but I had a totally different experience. This entire dispenser and product is legit like whipped cream.

It comes out whipped cream consistency and all. When you rub the product in your hands it lathers down into a cream. When I applied this too my hair it was like I was applying a thinner cream product and not a mousse.

Unlike any other mousse I’ve ever used it had ‘slip’ when I distributed it throughout my hair. It felt very nice and not sticky. The dispenser doesn’t push out the product itself consistently every time.

I found that you need to shake the product several times and shake it down toward the tip to help dispense it. But it legit comes out like whipped cream when it does. I think part of the issue is that this product is thicker than the typical light as air mousse.

The smell is okay. It’s kind off fruity. Not my favorite but I don’t think it stinks at all. Does provide good hold and helps with definition. I just wish it was easier to dispense. Overall this mousse is very unique and I love that it resembles whipped cream and adds slips to your hair.

The packaging is also pretty with the rose gold and black lettering.

As someone with natural hair, it can be hard to find affordable stylers that work well on my hair. I used this product on my hair on two different occasions. The first was on my freshly washed hair to help define my curls as they air dryed.

It greatly reduced the frizz and gave my curls definition and hold without making my hair feel sticky or stiff. For the second occasion, I used this mousse on my hair before twisting it. The next morning, I undid the twists and had beautiful, bouncy hair.

We all know what I am talking about. My HUSBAND is my only problem when it comes to this mousse. I let him use it one time and now I can’t keep him from using it. He applies the mousse to his straight wet hair then spikes it.

His hair stays in place all day and is soft to the touch. NOTE: Do you think your hair is wavy and you want tighter curls? Then use this product and section pieces of hair and twist around your finger.

I have type 3a hair and this is one of the few hair products I’ve repurchased repeatedly. I transitioned to my naturally curly hair over a year ago, and after trying lots of gels and heavier hair products, I decided to switch to a mousse.

How I use it: After washing and conditioning my hair, and applying a lightweight leave-in conditioner or cream, I use this mousse. It gives great definition and is lightweight enough so my hair doesn’t look like a puffy blob! I refresh by spraying my hair with water and scrunching in the mousse where needed.

As another reviewer noted, I only apply this product when my hair is wet.

I love this foam! My absolute favorite foam, and I have tried loads of them in the 3 years since I started wearing my natural texture. It is not very moisturizing so I use a curl cream or leave-in under it.

It does not weigh down my fine waves/curls at all (as long as I don’t use too much of it)! It lets my hair dry super fast when I use it without a gel so it is my go-to when I want great a looking wash-day in a hurry.

The hold is good enough for a day or two but if I want to go longer without a refresh I use a small amount of gel and then top it with this foam. This is one of the few products I have purchased repeatedly since transitioning!.

I’ve loved Sun Bum for quite awhile. I feel their sunscreen is some of the best, so when they came out with hair care with UV protection I was on board. I was using gels for awhile but kept having tangling issues and massive knots.

I figured maybe it was time to try a mousse. This leaves my hair so soft but still gives my waves and curls great texture/hold. Super easy to refresh with water and adding this back in. And it doesn’t dry out or tangle my hair.

Finally I found the right product for my hair! My hair is type 2 and my husband’s hair is type 4. This mousse does a great job a good natural looking wavy/curl hair. Literally I feel I’m at the beach when I apply this mousse, my hair is not crunchy at all, at the next day my hair looks pretty silky, wavy and I love it.

This stuff works great on my hair! It is light weight but holds the curls beautifully and without frizz. I have very fine and somewhat thinning curly hair that is very easily weighed down by product.

I was so happy to see they sell it online and ship it, because it was getting very difficult to find it anywhere near me in the Midwest.

Tressame 4 has been my hairspray for years. Unscented, good hold without being sticky or wet. But the last can I bought with the “new look” was a totally different hairspray. I bought unscented as always but the smell is horrible, strong and overbearing.

It is a wet spray as well. My fine hair goes limp with this “new look”. I am returning that can to Walmart. I went to Kroger and bought 3 cans with the old look. Maybe by the time I go through 3 cans, Tresemme will go back to the perfect hairspray or I will find another one to become my perfect hairspray.

Good looking hair doesn’t have to cost a fortune! I swear by Tresemme! I have naturally straight hair, but sometimes I want curls. Rather than damage my hair, I add Tresemme mousse and instant curls! All day hold, light, clean, fresh curls.

I knew something happened when I couldn’t find this mousse at any stores and when I did find it (the old formula) it was way more expensive. This new one doesn’t work like the other and I can’t even find that one anywhere either! I’ve been using flawless curls for, I want to say 10 plus years maybe, and it never failed.

I even had curls the next all I had to do was wet my hands and style. Companies always changing something good or discontinuing products people love. I’m giving the new formula 2 and a half stars but the old formula is a 5.

Love the smell on both though.

Bought this mousse to use on my human hair curly wig. I washed the wig and while still wet sectioned the hair. Pumped the mousse into my hand. It had a pleasant smell. It was foamy and soft to touch.

I raked it through the hair and then brushed it. Instant springy beautiful curls. Finished each section. Allowed it to dry. Curls weren’t too stiff to touch. Beautifully curled and refreshed with water.

I would recommend and purchase again.

This gives a mild hold for me hair. Tried it with a twist out and let it air dry and didn’t give me the perfect curl. However, I recommend using a diffuser which should give a better and longer curls.

I will be doing that option next but it was worth the money.

Very good product. Used to set hair with perm rods. Hair was moisturized and had shine. Will definitely purchase again. Great Mousse with no crunchy cast after heat setting my hair.

Y’all talked me right into it! I have used OGX Curling Perfection for several years and was quite satisfied but after reading a week’s worth of reviews for Morrocanoil Curl Defining Cream, I decided to give it a shot and made a purchase from Sephora.

My hair is fine, dry and naturally curly and I do mean CURLY. I blow dry to ease the curls a bit as drying naturally leaves me with very tight coils. I received the Morrocanoil yesterday and used it, following the same wash condition regimen as always, and using the same amount of Morrocanoil as I would of OGX.

First thing I noticed was how much longer my hair looks! The Morrocanoil results in looser, less sproingy curls than I get with the OGX and that’s a win for me! The cost for Morrocanoil is much greater, though in hindsight, I could have used less product – not enough less to even out the cost per ounce, but less.

The Morrocanoil did leave a film behind, somewhere between greasy tacky, but not intolerable; I would liken it to the same feeling I get from sea salt spray. All said done, I do love the look I get from the Morrocanoil but I’ll probably save it for going out and stick with the OGX for daily/work wear, simply due to the cost.

I received the product free for testing purposes from Influenster and Moroccanoil. I never use anything other than mousse in my hair. Never have I tried anything like this for styling because it’s really hard to find a good protect that tames the curls and reduces frizz.

I seriously didn’t have high hopes. My mind was blown when I let my hair air dry after application. My hair looked so hydrated and the most important thing is that it was bouncy, touchable, not frizzy and felt so natural without the stiffness.

And it smelt amazing that others thought it was a new perfume, got so many compliments that day on how good I smelt. The product is not sticky and I didn’t have to use a ton! Just like two quarters worth of product.

I never let no one touch my hair or rub their fingers through it because it’ll create more frizz but with this, there was no worrying. I would definitely be purchasing this.

I bought this same product before I went on a long vacation and wished I had bought more. It offers great “freeze” hold or softer hold if you apply less product. It can be rejuvenated with a spritz of water (or a small splash if you don’t have a spray bottle handy).

I did get this as part of an Influenster sample box along with 2 other Maui Moisture product. I’ll start by saying I’ve never been a big fan of hair styling products like mousse, gels, hairsprays, etc.

and I was a teen in the 80s so go figure but I thought I’d give these a try anyway. But I did want to state that because maybe my experience is the norm and I was just never able to get used to that I did give it three stars for a couple of reasons below and I figured that would be the most neutral considering I’m not a user of mousse.

I’ll also say I gave them a chance because I started by trying the Maui Moisture oil mist that came in the same box and I’m absolutely loving that. I gave the mousse a shot on a day that was a bad hair day anyway.

I don’t really have curly hair. I have naturally frizzy hair if that’s makes any sense at all or what my mom used to call kinky hair. Pros: I like the ingredients, very natural oriented product it seems.

I like the packaging and I like that it’s not an aerosol but rather a pump. It took me about 3 pumps to get the amounts I needed (I have fairly long hair). The scent was even more subtle than the oil mist, which was nice.

not having 17 different scents on at the same time. And I will say it seemed to do a decent job at holding scrunched hair. My big con (and mostly why I’m not a fan of most styling products) is that I hate having stiff and/or sticky hair.

Because my hair is, as I said, naturally frizzy, it tangles very easily when in that state (I tend to straighten it when I can or braid it). When I tried to run my fingers through my hair, they actually got stuck.

not kidding. It wasn’t like I had to call 911 or need the jaws of life but I did not like that at all and the feel of my hair was very sticky. Even after applying it, I washed my hand twice and then I went out to the kitchen and washed them again because my hands stayed so sticky after using it.

CONCLUDING, This airy lightweight, vegan formula hair mousse by Maui Moisture smells divine, works miracles on my natural curls without being sticky or leaving white residue behind. It quenches my curls making them look and feel hydrated and healthy.

The infusion of coconut milk and mango butter has given my long curly locks the moisture it needs without weighing them down. This is an absolute WINNER KEEPER!.

This mousse is indeed lightweight and doesn’t have that heavy feel that other mousses do. I love that it doesn’t contain silicones and instead uses natural ingredients such as aloe. I initially used this mousse without any other product to get a feel for how well it works.

Being that it’s watery in consistency (almost felt like I was putting water foam in my hair), I didn’t expect it to create the curls that it did. My hair had great curl and exceptional volume. It did have stiffness, but minimal.

I found that it had moderate frizz control, meaning my frizz wasn’t eliminated but it was greatly reduced. By day 2, my curls were still intact and so was the volume, but my hair had picked up more frizz.

I dampened my hair a bit and scrunched it and there was an improvement. However, I still feel like for those with very frizzy hair (such as myself), it would be good to add another product to control the frizz.

I did just that today, and now my curls look great. I think that swapping out your regular mousse for the Maui Moisture Coconut Milk Curl Foam Mousse is going to impress you. It works better than the other foam mousses I have used without the heavy coating and chemicals.

Happy to give my hair a rest from product buildup and silicones. Definitely give this one a try.

I first discovered Oribe years ago through Birchbox and have been a super fan ever since. The Curl Shaping Mousse smells, like all Oribe products, divine and the benefits don’t stop there. My curls are bouncy, healthy and shiny looking and best of all, feel hydrated and so full.

You really only need about a half-dollar dized dollop (depending on the length of your hair. Mine is long – to the middle of my back) so the bottle lasts a decent amount of time. Oribe has never disappointed me and I have never used an Oribe product that I didn’t love and this mousse is no exception.

Yes it’s expensive, BUT it’s also the best curling mousse I’ve ever tried. The VOLUME and hold alone make it a must-have for me, but on top of that it’s great to have it in your hair from the day before when you’re refreshing your day-two curls.

Of course I use it with a curl cream and light defining gel as well, but when my hair is longer I’m excited to try it just by itself and see what kind of mane I get. Will always have a bottle of this on hand, hope it’s in production forever!!!.

These are two no-no ingredients for my curly hair. Proteins kill my curls and leave my hair dry, frizzy and impossible to detangle. Silicone is simply a bad ingredient for most curly hair. It coats the hair shaft preventing moisture from penetrating, leaving hair dry and unmanageable.

It’s curl 101. The fact that they charge that price for gunk that leads to unhealthy hair is laughable. Hard pass.

Love this product. I have wave/curls, and this makes my waves hold, prevents them from falling flat and frizzy, and allows my curls to actually form. I typically have to wash my hair every 3 days, and most products I’ve tried tend to build up and make my hair greasy before day 3.

This one doesn’t. It’s super light, and I can easily refresh my hair each day by getting all my hair wet and adding in a little more mousse. The other thing I love is that it doesn’t have an overpowering scent.

I get headaches if I use a product that smells too strong, and this one is at just the right level of smelling nice without being too perfume-y.

This mousse is great and lightweight, perfect for my wavy, thick hair. With some diffusing, I got great volume, and lightweight hold. The one thing I didn’t really like, was how thin the plastic bottle is.

Other than that, I liked this mousse overall!.

My hair always looks great when using Cantu Whip Mousse. it provides definition to curly hair wether wet or blow drying. My curls are manageable without feeling crispy or sticky. Smells good too. Would definitely recommend this no matter what ethnicity you are.

My hair has a curl when it’s wet but seems to weigh down once it dry and combed out. I decided to try this curl activator. I have a lot of hair and had to use a good amount on the pump. I placed it on wet hair.

When it was dry I noticed the curls stay more defined and bunched together rather then a mess it is without it. I made sure I did not comb much to keep some of the wave. However, with some brushing It does weaken the curl.

The smell is decent and not overpowering nor is it too much like a chemical scent. There are some brands that can make me sneeze but not the AU 2nd Day curl activation. My hair also feels smooth after use but one should gage how much is good for their hair.

Overuse can leave a sticky film. This is a good curl activator but it’s not long lasting if you have heavy hair. It worked for my hair to about the earlier part of the day. I have not paired other hair products with this to see if the curls with be sustained for a longer time.

Overall this product works for the majority of they day and is worth a try.

I wish Aussie would specify that this product is for African-American, or natural hair that is 3c to 4c in texture. This is an amazing and affordable product for the right hair textures. Unfortunately, there are bad reviews from people with hair textures that this product is not best intended for.

I usually look for products for my hair that specify they are intended for African American hair. I somehow stumbled upon this product and I fell in love! It smells great, is inexpensive, and usually easy to find in plenty of retailers.

I am a huge fan! I use this product on my wet 4b hair and let it dry naturally for curly wash and wear. I will place this product on my daughters 3c hair while wet and blow dry straight. It is shiny and moisturized without being greasy, flakey or drying.

I love all Aussie products! They really focus on providing products that meet specific hair needs. I have dry hair that is long and naturally curly. I love my curls, but I hate frizz! I find the way to keep my hair frizz free is to use products that are targeted toward preventing that.

Aussie Miracle Curls 2nd Day Curl Activator works exceptionally well on curly hair. It’s so easy to use and yields beautiful, frizz free curls that last all day long. Simply spray your dry hair, run your fingers through it, and then scrunch.

Your curls will feel soft, moisturized, and have a lovely scent too. The ingredients are excellent, and this is a must have for us curly girls! It also works really well when on vacation. You can skip that shampoo and just spray your hair and have fresh beautiful curls!.

I used on towel-dried hair and scrunched in. Provided a small amount of hold without being crunchy/crusty or heavy/greasy, and my hair looked and felt very nourished and shiny once dried. The gel-to-foam consistency was pretty cool and made it easy to evenly apply the product and build up to the desired amount.

Doesn’t have too much of a fragrance either – kinda a mixed masculine/femine scent. I don’t feel this product would work for you though if you don’t have wavy hair as it’s very lightweight.

Leaves a nice texture and smell in you hair. Great for curly frizzy hair and doesn’t leave your hair crunch like you would think. I really like this product, having spent a lot of time and money on the right products for my hair.

I have very thin and straight hair, but on occasion I like to take a break from heat styling and scrunch my hair! I’ve only found one other mousse that actually holds a scrunch, but it was discontinued.

I decided to take a stab at this- and it works amazingly! My thin, straight hair gets transformed into perfect looking beachy waves when I use this product. The hold is strong, but feels like I don’t have any product in my hair.

This will be the mousse I buy from now on. The smell is a little bizarre, but I’m able to look past that. Awesome product, highly recommend.
