20 Best Wax For Plastic (2022 Updated)

2010 black Tahoe set in Sun for 1 year in San Diego due to my extended overseas assignment. Got back to USA and knew I needed to restore paint. After 5 full polishes paint is restored. Super shiny. Glassy finish.

Superior product for black paint.

It is everything it says it is. While it does not fill larger cracks, it is everything it says it is. While it does not feel larger cracks, it certainly colors them and will even fill some hairline cracks.

It makes cracking on the vehicle very difficult to see. Its simply good stuff! MSR!!.

People, you`re spending $11 on a product, not $100! I`ve read a lot of reviews and some people are being unrealistic. This is a polish, not a scratch repair kit. It`s not a miracle worker, but it did cover two big SURFACE scratches I had.

I wish I had before and after pics, but to be honest, I didn’t expect such good results. I`ve waxed/polished cars for 30 years and granted, this is the first black car specific product I`ve ever used, but I`ve never been so impressed and satisfied after I`ve used a car care product before.

I purchased the Jet Black car wax for a longer lasting shine. Now, my co-workers want to drop their cars off for me to do!.

I used this on the clouded headlights on my old 2003 Kia Optima. If any one asks if this works on headlights,(if you will excuse my language) heck yes it does! I only used the M10 mirror Glaze, a micro fiber cloth and a drill with a polishing wheel.

No sanding. I did the passenger side and took the first pic. The second pic is my driver side un-touched. (the shadowed pic does not do the cloudiness justice compared to when the light is on or in the sun) The third pic is the same light after only 30 seconds with the polish and buffer (that is 30 Mississippies to be more accurate).

The fourth is after a few more minutes with the buffer wheel. Now, could I have sanded them or buffed them for an hour each to remove some of the micro cracks and deep scratches. ? yes! Did I have better things to do with my time.

? yes! Will the imperfections make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. ? NO! The perfectionists out there might have a different opinion though. It took me about 15 minutes to do what I did, not counting the picture taking and battery changing.

I followed this up with some headlight sealer to keep them looking good longer.

Meguiar’s Quik Wax is by far the best bang for your buck, spray wax on the market. For the cost, you cannot compare other spray waxes for its cost, durability, shine, ease of use, and amount of product you get.

I have used other products from Meguiar’s, Chemical Guys, Turtle Wax, and Mother’s, and I can confidently say it’s just as good, if not better. My car is in great condition and it parked outside 24/7, this product lasts 3-4 weeks, is easy to apply, gives a smooth feel, nice shine, doesn’t smear or stain plastic, and has good scent.

I am a seasonal detailer with over 8 years of experience and I stand behind this product. I rather pay for something inexpensive (this) and use it frequently than pay triple the price of something else and use it less frequently because of its extended durability claims.

Use it sparingly, one bottle should last you 6-8 months if you wash every 2-3 weeks (it’s a big bottle). My car is always the cleanest looking car in the car lot at work because of this.

I was very skeptical about such a simple and time-saving solution, but I was wrong! This product is sprayed on the car after you have washed it, shammy it off as usual, and end with a quick buff with a clean, soft cotton rag! It is not meant to be a lasting wax but the car looks great for a week or so and you can feel the slickness of the paint.

An added bonus is that it is soo much faster to remove the water with the shammy and it doesn’t leave any water stains! Try it!.

I’ve tried your newest liquid wax with Carnuba on our 2020 Mercedes. It’s Black. It requires a lot of attention. I couldn’t be more impressed. Easy on, easy off! The shine? Best ever. Oh my!!! Suggestion: get some good quality cloths for wiping.

What a product! Install this product on my truck and even those days when you can’t clean the outside there’s no need. This stuff propels water and dirt off the truck it looks like you just washed it.

Have used on two different vehicles-one Hyundai Sonata and a 2002 Dodge pickup-The product has made them both much easier to keep clean and put a real luster to their paint job. Easy to use for surprising results.

I rarely write reviews but wanted to comment on this product. Just used it on my black Lexus SUV. Applied a thin coat with the included applicator. After letting it cure, I wiped it off easily with the microfiber towel.

It left a deep shine, the surface is very slick. I would definitely buy it again!.

I read mixed reviews on this product as you are now doing and I was skeptical because the bad reviews were what I would expect to happen based on my experience trying to remove dried wax off plastic.

Now I am sure if the wax is left to bake onto the plastic for 3 years, you cant expect it to work. I live in Florida so the sun is not your friend. I tried this out on a few lower trim pieces on my car that had wax baking on it for about 3-5 weeks in July.

I followed directions and it came off. There were one or two areas that I remember needed a 2nd application but it came off with relatively little effort. The key to success is to realize that you are removing wax.

you need to remove the wax-contaminated product from the plastic in its entirety or you will just be moving the wax around the bumper to a new home. Apply the product and scrub. Wipe the stuff off and follow it with another application and the wipe of a new section of towel.

If it is still sticky, hit it again and again until the wax if off. It isn’t Houdini, if you apply and scrub but don’t wipe the product/wax off, Houdini isn’t going to touch it with a magic wand and make the wax disappear; its just going to stay on the car.

The product lifts the wax off the surface and it is your job to take the wax away.

It’s an awesome product. McKees is great for supplying dedicated products to accomplish a goal. This one is especially effective for removing old paste waxes on trim surfaces and it does that exceedingly well!.

Pros: Very easy to use. Easy to apply. Do not need much to do its job. Product thick enough that it stayed in place and didn’t run. Cons: None with the product. Worked exactly as I needed it to. However, there might be some improvement of the delivery system.

Pump spray can get product where you do not necessarily want it. Pump works fine, but perhaps a sponge applicator as well for tigheter applications to avoid overspray.

This product is part of the headlight restoration kit. I discovered it also is safe for removing acid rain stains from auto glass. Apply with cotton cloth and some elbow grease.

I read several users’ reviews on this product before purchasing. The reviewers said that with a little elbow grease your yellow headlights would be clear again. My headlights have a little clouding on the top area and I wanted to prevent them from getting worse.

When I used this it made absolutely no difference in the way the headlights looked. Perhaps they were not far enough gone for the product to show it’s magic. I will keep putting a coat on the headlights every month or so in the hope that it keeps them in the same shape they are in now.

While the other review addressed the packaging/shipping issues, after the leakage, the customer probably couldn’t retrieve enough product to use or try. I’ve used Mother’s Plastic Polish for years & it is absolutely remarkable at restoring like-new brilliance & clarity to lenses, especially taillights.

I also use Mother’s Tire Care, Leather Care, Car Polish, Top Coat, Back-To-Black, etc. I’ve never tried a Mother’s product that wasn’t superior.

turtle wax products have always been good. this is no exception -= rubbers around the windows looked gray and tarnished but after using this they look brand new as all the black plastic parts now do.

Great application-turns dull & faded black plastic back to brand new leaving a pleasant perfume. Use inside or out for equally pleasing results. Top product!

We gave a Mini with a lot of black trim, this brings it up well but as it’s in a spray form it’s nearly impossible to keep it just on the trim itself. I will try spraying onto a cloth next time and wiping on on spraying on car before I wash jt.

Overall a good product which brought the trims up well.

I followed the directions exactly as described to do. Washed with last coat soap, applying with the clay & wash mitt as outlined in the tutorial videos, then went over car with 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol and microfiber cloth.

I then applied The Last Coat and followed up with a coat of AMP on the car, windows, and interior leather seats. Been driving in rain, salt air, mud, and major bug infestations ar night. What a mess.

I rinsed the car and was shocked that most of it just slid off the car with a garden hose. In the past the bugs would take major elbow grease to remove. After a quick wash with the Last Coat Soap, it looked as good as new.

Unbelievable product. I have used everything and anything car product wise, and by far this stuff is the real deal. Looking forward to seeing how long the protection lasts. I was so impressed that I ordered Ceratrim for the exterior black vinyl trim.

My car is pretty new, and that product still improved the look of it. Take your time and it apply it properly to a throughly clean surface, and make sure to let it cure on the vehicle before getting wet for a day.

Same thing, the dirt just washes right off leaving a beautiful shine and protection on the black trim around my car. Great products!.

I purchased TLC Trim Restorer and so far I’m very pleased. It applies easily with the supplied applicator and the difference in my old, faded trim to the TLC trim is like night a day, it looks great.

I haven’t driven in the rain or washed it yet so I guess time will tell if it really holds up. If it stays looking like new, I’ll be very satisfied. A few notes: a little goes a long way. The bottle is small, only 8oz, but when you realize how little you need it’s plenty for several vehicles.

I’ve done an entire Ford Sport Trac (which has tons of trim and large plastic covered bumpers). Make sure you clean everything well. I washed and scrubbed all the exterior trim and then wiped everything down with mineral spirits to make sure all the dirt and oils were off.

Make sure everything is then dry. The applicator leaves a little to be desired. When using it, it tends to bunch up causing an uneven application. Not a big deal but a little frustrating. It’s also hard to use in tight spots and corners.

For those areas I used a small, foam craft / paint brush. It works fine. Also, make sure you go back with a microfiber cloth and buff off any extra product that hasn’t dried or soaked in. If you leave it wet, dirt and dust sticks to it and it leaves a tacky surface.

So far, you’ve got 5 starts from me and I would highly recommend this product.

I was after a wax to go over a van I’ve just bought. Being 12months old the paintwork it’s already in good condition so this wax went on well and also came off with ease revealing a sparkling finish – very impressed.

Water beads off nicely. I’m hopeful it will last for a while but unable to tell as I’ve literally only just applied it (hence 4/5). I also tried it on a car with 7 year old paintwork (and without any prep/polishing) and it came up good but was more of a challenge to buff off; looks OK but not as good as the van but to be fair I should have prepared it first with a good polish.

The tub of wax will no doubt last a long time as after doing two vehicles there is tonnes of this left. Good value for money.

I have used Turtle Wax paste for over 50 years. It is the best product out there! It works best when teamed with Turtle Was Zip Wash. Only apply a thin coat and wipe it off as soon as it is dry. Always use clean towels for removal of wax.

There aren’t many products available that does what this is designed to do, so decided to give this a try. The previous owner of my SUV used a dirty wax/polish cloth on the black plastic trim and left white marks.

To be honest my hopes weren’t high of fixing it but was pleasantly surprised. I was able to get rid of the wax residue without much effort so am happy and recommend this product.

The Nanowax I ordered wasn’t the Superior Nanowax as depicted on the picture – the one I received Is the All Surface Nanowax which is not the same. Both come from the same company Eagle One but the product is different.

Great price and also works great between waxes Eagle1’s been my go to for a long time started using “Visual Perfection” back in the 90’s I have always impressed with their items. Now granted this is not as good as good as Graphene but it really shines and does possess some hydrophobic properties as the water does just bead off the car without those unsightly dry little dots as if you just waxed the vehicle with a Carnauba wax.

Bit of a mixed experience here. It worked really well on the plastic fascia under the bonet and bought it up black and shiney (after a bit of buffing) but then on the inside it was a bit of a nightmare.

It left this strange sort of mark on certain bits of the plastic trim which eventually (in some cases) buffed off but in other cases I had to re-apply, scrub hard and buff again. The spray is also a bit crazy, it’s much easier to spray on a cloth and then apply otherwise it just ends up everywhere.

I didn’t realise but it says you can use it on tyres too! Works really well on rubber seals etc.

Inside liquid to thick to be sprayed. Take off the spray cap and use a cloth for spreading. Leaves white marks on upholstery must clean straight away. Better off with a normal shining spray.

Bought this to finish off my interior trim I took out of my van during camper conversion. Only prob was I did it in the kitchen and now Torvill and Dean would struggle to get to the kettle without going over.

Not sure how well it works following literal instructions but the way Ive used it works really well – viz: spray on a damp microfibres cloth and apply to washed car (before its dried) and almost immediately buff off with a clean dry micro fibre cloth.

Ive achieved excellent results on a dark blue BMW Gran Coupe which has been a pain to wash because you cant remove remnants of dead flies and other marks with just a wash and leather. This wax is a great solution for this problem – very quick and easy to apply with great results so highly recommended.

Cant comment on its longevity but as its so easy to apply Ill use it after every wash. On a related note – lesson Ive learnt – why didnt I buy a silver car!! Ill never buy a black or dark colour car again.

Theyre a pain to keep clean and to wash without having to wax every time to remove marks. Here endeth the lesson – but hope it helps. This is good stuff.

If you havent tried this product then you should. Easy to apply. Cuts washing/waxing time by half and leaves a deep shine and water beads off leaving an obvious level of protection.

This product is one of the very few that does all it claims to do, easy to use and gives a brilliant finish

What a great product. Yeah its a little on the pricey side but it definitely works and does the job. Parts of the inside of my car are black gloss and can soon show marks and dust but this definitely got rid of those in a flash.

My car looks like brand new like ive just drove I out of the showroom. Also smells like ut says on the can a NEW CAR. It definitely smells like I’ve got it out of the showroom aswell. Also I’ll see if it’s true that the smell lasts fir 8 days so we’ll see.

Best stuff to keep your interior smelling great but looking better than showroom condition! Shines up and cleans dashboard and all plastics and other synthetic materials in your car’s interior. I use this all the time when cleaning my cars interior.

I bought the product to bring my Mondeo back from the dirt and muck. I applied the product as directed and found that in some places it had to be used twice plus an oil remover. However the dash and interior areas came up like new.

I used it on most surfaces except the cloth and headliner. My neighbour is very impressed and went to buy some, Does it work you bet it does and you get a show room finish. The Halfords staff I talked to said it is very popular and I can see why, easy to use simply on and off.
