10 Best Wax Seal Kit (2022 Updated)

The color is nothing like the picture. The picture is much lighter, like an apple red but the wax is a true burgundy color. If you’re the type to pay attention to the name rather than the photo then you will probably be pleases, but if you’re relying on the photo I’d be forewarned that it is not that color.

It’s a beautiful true burgundy color and melts well so I gave it 2 stars for that, but if you want a bright red, like depicted in the photo, then buy another wax.

My fiance and I set out to wax seal 75 wedding invites, we were optimistic that the glue stick version might be faster than traditional wax. Originally we started by using an ‘Ad Tech lo temp’ mini glue gun we got about 10 envelopes in and it clogged.

We thought maybe the lo temp wasn’t hot enough so we went out and purchased a high temp mini glue gun. Luckily it did initially seem to work better and we were able to get through a large majority if or invites before it clogged up again.

We spent two hours pulling the glue gun apart and trying to clean out all the glitter that had gotten gunked up inside, ultimately we gave up trying to clean it out, seemed no matter how much glitter we got out there was more clogging the tip.

We cut our losses, thankfully the glue guns themselves were fairly cheap. Overall would not recommend to anyone who isn’t willing to A. Throw a way a cheap glue gun and B. Doesn’t need to seal many envelopes.

I’ve been using sealing wax for over 40 years. I’ve found this one to be one of, if not THE best. It doesn’t stick to the stamp, creates a nice sharp design and melts evenly. The only con would be that the wick has a tendency to go out.

I counter this by having a tea candle burning, wooden matches and an ash tray at the ready. Lighting the matches from the candle, I simply melt the wax with the matches, tossing them in the tray after blowing them out as they burn down.

Works like a charm, and you can control the speed of the melt easily.

I love writing letters and sealing them with wax! I needed more wax for period-style letters I was writing for my castmates in the play Great Expectations. I ordered a couple packs of red wax and was very pleased with the online shopping process and with how quickly they were shipped to me.

The wax is great quality too! The only thing I can complain about is that I may never be able to get enough of this product. =) Love this hobby! #sweepstakes.

Pro: The red color of the wax is wonderfully vibrant. It’s also pliable and easy to work with. No bad odors or aromas. Con: The wick is not big enough to melt the wax. I used a lighter instead to melt the wax, but after 3 stamps the old wick dripped, melting into the stamp causing a red and black result.

Next purchase will definitely be wickless sealing wax.

Our daughter used this on her invitations for her graduation party. We were told at the postoffice that the wax might come off in their machines. We mailed them, and have been getting confrontation that the wax held up in the postoffice machines.

We were really impressed with that. Would totally recommend them.

I was excited to find this sealing wax at the store. I remember using it as a young girl to seal letters to my cousins who lived far from me. I cannot find my old sealing wax and the stamps but now have the opportunity to recreate that excitement of sealing letters before mailing them to friends and family.

I use this for thank you letters to my customers. I think it adds something special. I usually order from a woman on Etsy bit she closed her shop. These are ok but cheaply made. They burn to slow, the wick is terrible and the actual wax isn’t thick enough for a pretty seal.

But it works enough that it looks decent and not too cheap. But I won’t buy it again. I’ll try ordering online from a different store.

This wax is wonderful. It keeps a rich color, doesn’t stick to the stamp, and the finished product looks amazing. You have to wait just a bit to let it cool before stamping, but once you figure out the timing, it is flawless.

Okay, so you have to melt this wax a specific way for it to not get burnt. I used this for wedding invites and they cam eout PERFECT. I looked up videos prior and had no issues. I lit a candle and had a spoon that I used for melting the wax.

Instead of lighting the wax stick, I cut off little pieces, placed them in the spoon and held the spoon over the lit candle. It melted the wax and I poured onto my invited directly. I was able to do about 40 envelopes with the four sticks.

Make sure wax does not get too hot or it will bubble. Patience is key!.

Once I got the hang of this. It looked beautiful and really really cool but they’re definitely is a learning curve so make sure you take the time to work with the wax before doing anything important lol.

Other reviews were right. It did come out as black and white instead of white. The second time using this the wax actually caught on wire and almost caused a fire. Seriously don’t buy this.

Nice color, takes an imprint well, and good amount of product for the price. Only problem I have is the rate of melting (it’s a little slow) and how it doesn’t quite burn evenly (but that could be a technique thing).

I have gotten a few of the wax seals from Altenew, and I haven’t been disappointed. The handles are really nice, the seals are sturdy, and the impressions are really clear. This is definitely a 5 star product!! Also, the seals are big–some companies sell seals that are small–but these are big and great!! You won’t be disappointed! And the font is nice looking, too! WOOT!! 🙂 Get it!!.

Haven’t tried this yet, bought it for my granddaughter for Christmas. She had mentioned that she would a wax seal stamp and I think she will love the delicate blossom stamp.
