20 Best Way Swimming Pools (2022 Updated)

The instructions were fairly non-existent but by using some commonsense, we got it up in less than an hour. Then we filled it – then it sprang a leak, halfway along and about a quarter of the way up one side, A patch is provided, but since there is no glue, that’s pretty useless.

So here we are, hottest weather for years and we’re having to search high and low for a puncture repair kit. We’re buying a big one, because I have a feeling this won’t be the first hole we’ll be fixing.

If we hadn’t promised the grandkids a big pool, this would be going straight back and no mistake! Too pricey to be such dodgy quality.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical but decided to purchase this anyway. First of all to half the bad reviews on here about it not having a pump, if you actually read the description it clearly states that a pump is not included (try reading before complaining).

Second, mine came with the instructions which showed exactly how to put the pool together so for the other complaints about instructions not being included that is a false statement and must have been a mistake with that customers shipment.

Lastly, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because my shipment came with the wrong size strap for the length of the pool but we just fixed that by adding a piece of rope. I have had no complaints with this pool and my kids love it.

I highly recommend it!!!.

We’ve been kicking around the idea for getting a pool for a while now and finally decided to get this brand. We absolutely love it, the design is more fun and adds a splash of scenery to our yard. It was VERY easy to assemble.

The material feels like its quality and sturdy. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

The set up of the Bestway swimming pool was pretty easy. Between 2 of us we got in set up with no problem. Once we had it put together filling the pool was easy. Because of the cold weather we didnt fill it up completely.

But the size is good and will definitely keep us cool in the summer. Looking forward to using it daily.

My children have been using this pool for a while now. It works great. It was easy to install and put together. It works perfect for young ones. It’s big enough that I can sit in the pool with my children as well.

I would highly recommend this pool.

The pool was great, worked as it supposed to. The pump isn’t very strong so I’d advise getting a better one. The problem I had is that I bought a 4 year warranty and now Walmart staff Syed and Claire along with Allstate staff khawaja have given me the run around about my leaking pool and rusted ladder.

They keep pointing fingers at each other saying the warranty was cancelled by Walmart and then Walmart saying it is not. If it was I was never refunded for it and now have a leaking pool. 3 months of going back and forth with no resolution.

Syed even went as far as telling me to take legal action against Allstate for denying the claim. I would like someone to contact me to get this resolved.

We set-up our pool before Memorial Day and have had ZERO ISSUE!! Install was a breeze and took less than 30 minutes with 4 adults helping. The pump is not the best, but it does the job. The pump is not designed to clean the surface water nor act as a skimmer (clearly stated in the manual) but it makes adding chemicals a breeze.

I dont know why they would include a vacuum that cant be used with the included pump, but it does work with just the water hose and mesh bag pretty well. I encourage an automatic pool vacuum for the super fine particles.

The liner and frame are very druable and stand up well to all our boys (both young and old) and dogs too! Chemical maintenance is also way easier than I thought. We have enjoyed this small little investment tremendously and we even had 2 of our neighbors purchase one after seeing ours.

Dont let the negativity decide your purchase as many of the complaints I read seem to be “operator error”not product malfunction.

The price point for this pool is excellent. The pool itself is well made and very easy to assemble. I had it up by myself in around an hour and started filling with water. The pump is nothing special.

It’s ok for tempory use but not something I would recommend if you intend to use this pool long term. I spent another 300 dollars and bought a quality pump and sand filter and it has greatly improved the cleanliness of the pool.

The ladder that comes with it leaves alot to be desired. In my opinion it wasn’t sturdy enough for the kids so I spent another couple hundred dollars on another ladder. Think of it as you’re buying the pool for 420 dollars with the expectation that would will spend that much more to make It a really quality experience.

I would recommend this pool to anyone with the caveat that you are going to have to splurge a little more and upgrade the accessories before you hold it to a high standard.

Let me first state that I have had two Intex pools in the past of the same size so I am familiar with this type of product. This pool is very easy to set up and the materials seem to be quality made.

It is a good looking pool and the darker sides help to heat the water quicker and maintain a good temp. However, the filtration system is absolutely horrible. The pump and sand filter are undersized.

Thankfully I still had my pump and sand filter from my Intex pool so I could use it with this pool. But, what makes it horrible is the lack of an above water skimmer! We live in the country where we do get a lot of leaves, grass clippings (no matter how hard I try to mow away from the pool), bugs etc.

The underwater skimmer does NOT do a good job. I can’t believe that this product is sold without an above water skimmer. As much as I like the looks of this pool I don’t think I could recommend it due to the skimmer issue.

UPDATE Aug 15, 2021:It is now Aug 15th. The part under warranty has still not shipped and they will not even give us a timeline. I’ve had to make 4 or 5 phone calls and the last phone call was possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever received.

The warranty was approved July 7th, so we are well over a month out and still not able to use our practically new intex pool with fall approaching rapidly. DO NOT BUYORIGINAL REVIEW:We started using our brand new Intex pool in June of 2020 and had a great season of swimming with it.

When we put the pool back up this year (June 2021), everything worked great again for a few weeks. Then we noticed the sand filter started getting louder and louder. So loud we could hear it all the way inside the house with our windows closed.

It was so loud that it disturbed our neighbors as well. Because the pool is only a year old, the filter and all other parts are under warranty. I called customer service on July 6th and it went smoothly.

I filled out the paperwork, uploaded my receipt, etc, and all was good. But as of July 20th the replacement part still had not shipped and the sand filter no longer works at all…so we have been unable to use our practically brand new pool.

I called customer service, and they told me they do not have the part and that they have no idea when they will have it. It’s a big strain for us to spend this kind of money and we were relieved when we confirmed the pool and parts are under warranty.

But the warranty has been useless up to this point because Intex apparently doesn’t have any of their own replacement parts to send to us, not do they even know when they will have them. So…if spending this kind of money on a pool is a big deal for you like it is for us, think twice because the parts have barely lasted more than one season and Intex has been unable to honor their warranty so far.

I bought this amonth ago from academy. Just got finished with dirt work. Started putting pool together. Started putting water in before water was even an inch deep. Noticed water was coming from under liner.

Academy refused to return. Said i would have to deal with manufacturer. This pool has never used coming straight out of box with a defect. I didn’t give my money to manufacturer. And i dont want to go through labor of taking down and reassembly of another.

Academy is absolutely horrible to deal with will never shop there again. They take your money but dont want to take any responsibility for the product they sale.

pool was delivered back in January. Finally got it put up today! This pool is amazing! We got the 20×52 O!M!G! It’s super sturdy! The poles the liner the filter really seems to be a pretty massive one compared to the other smaller ones previously.

So I guess if I don’t leave a future response about the filter. It’ll be safe to say it was perfect for filtering the water! pics to follow!!.

I researched pools for a month. I bought this one and it has been all I could want it to be. Very sturdy. Very Big. Very fun. Easy to install. My husband and I did it in about an hour. Everyone has been having a great time.

This is by far the best above ground pool I have ever owned or had ever been in! It’s massive! So to begin with it comes in 2 tall and heavy boxes (like 150lbs each) so you definitely need a dolly and preferably 1 or 2 other people helping assemble this, it takes a village am I right? Now for us the biggest and most important step was to prepare the yard (foundation).

We did this by finding the most level spot and then marked out the desired area, we decided that 24 foot by 40 foot area was what we wanted for our 16 foot by 32 foot pool. This would allow for more then enough room for the pool to be centered, and for room for the pool post and the water-filtration system to all fit in and be perfectly leveled and also so that it was more aesthetically appealing.

We then cut sod out of the lawn, leveling the ground and then laid a thick weed barrier down. We then laid down about 3 inches of masonry sand and leveled it to provide a optimal foundation for the pool.

You see we live in the south and our yard is made out of red clay that gets extremely hard or soft depending on the weather. So for us this will help sustain the life of the pool. Then once all that was done (which took several days) we then began to assemble the pool, which had taken me and my husband about 4 hours.

The pool had taken about 40 hours to fill with our water hose, and while it is filling we needed to pull the legs out so that they post were snug and to ensure they were level, this helped get out the wrinkles out at the bottom of the pool.

The entire process from start to had taken about 5 days along with alot of blood sweat and tears but it was a true labor of love! But remember we went above and beyond the instructions when setting up the pool, in all honestly you could have it set up and had it filled in about 2-3 days.

I’m a visual person and found the videos very helpful! The pool itself is made of high quality durable materials and I love how it comes with everything that is needed minus the water. It even comes with a pool cover!! Our family absolutely loves it and we love creating new memories together! We are looking forward to many more relaxing days floating and swimming during those hot summer days, but now we can also entertain our friends and family too!.

This pool is absolutely massive. It took a special truck to bring it in. It is also very heavy, so when you get it, it would help to put it near where it will be. It was surprisingly easy to put together, although it did take some time.

When it was assembled and when we were filling it up, the sides did lean in a lot which we were concerned about, but as it filled in the sides fixed themselves. The quality of this pool seems really good, it is holding up well so far.

However, there is an issue with the pump. The pump is not big enough for this pool. The pool is not filled up to the very top (so there’s not as much water in it as what is supposed to be) and still this pump cannot keep up.

It seriously needs a bigger pump to come with this. I found out after the fact that this is a common issue with this pool as well. It also came with a skimmer, a pool ladder, and a pool cover. The skimmer is long, but the net is small.

The cover is a pain in the butt to put on since the pool is so long, but it’s a cover. The pool ladder is easy to move around if you need to take it away to keep people from getting in the pool, however it comes at a sacrifice for quality.

It’s not very wide and feels super flimsy. We have to have someone at the bottom of the ladder supporting because it wobbles so much. Overall, I like the pool. The size is fantastic and allows for lots of people to get in.

However, you will probably need to replace the pump with a better one that can actually handle it. And bigger people may need to have extra support with the pool ladder, or replace that. The extra cost of a bigger pump on a pool that comes with one that is supposed to work but doesn’t is a big turn-off for some.

Purchased this at the beginning of June anticipating a hot summer. Glad we did because they are now out of stock anywhere in the close vicinity. Set up was very easy for two people. Instruction booklet was minimally helpful as diagrams are fairly small.

We set this up toward the end of June and set up took less than 45 minutes, we set ours on a tarp and thin foam pad on grass. When we started to fill and got about 1/4 full we found a small puddle of water under one edge of the pool.

We put a rag to sop it up and the rag became saturated. Sure enough, some type of leak we suspect in one of the seams around the bottom. Nothing visible. We finished the fill, and watched. Water level did not go down noticeably at all in a couple of days but nevertheless water was still slowly dribbling from the one end.

Leaving a rag at the location overnight, the rag became saturated. It was a little concerning for us so, after about a week we contacted customer service, explained the situation and they have satisfactorily rectified the situation.

There was also a small drip from one of the plastic hoses that went to the pump. It was a crack in the seam of the plastic but a little electrical tape had stopped it. Also the connection of these plastic hoses to the pump around the rubber gasket can be tricky.

At first pump startup they all leaked and I had to position the plastic clamps just so to make sure the leak stopped. Doing fine now. All in all this pool is good and plenty of space for two or three adult people on floaties.

We look forward to the real hot days ahead. I was torn between a 3 and 4 star rating for this. 5 is perfect and I don’t believe many things are that. If it wasn’t for the leaks this would be a great value for any family using it for the 2 or 3 months of summer and would have garnered the 4+ rating.

We have the pool for a week, so far it works well. Kids have lots of fun. It was easy to assemble. But the parts seem to be so flimsy. Why they put plastic screws for the metal frame??? I’m worried wit will collapse and spill all that water.

I put the pool on the flat concrete surface as far from home I could. Be prepared that you will have a lot of additional expanses. This doesn’t come with cover or pump. Additionally you will need chemicals, skimmer, pool vacuum, floater for the chlorine pill and something to put the pool on.

Tarp will work but we put it on concrete and to reduce friction and extend the pool life we used 1/2 inch foam tiles. We used foam tiles also because kids will jump and pool is not that deep so softer bottom makes more sense.

These expanses cannot be skipped unless you planning to change 600 gallons of water all the time. If you don’t add chemicals water will turn green the same if you don’t buy pump. Without cover pool gets dirty a lot etc.

I tried not to overspend I bought the cheapest vacuum that connects to a water hose. Still all additional expanses (excluding water costs) came to $439. 08 so just be prepared.

I was very excited that I finally got a pool for my kids who have been asking me forever. I got this shipped in two separate boxes. Very heavy Needed At least 4 people to get it to my backyard. Installation took more than two hours with 4 people.

The instruction book was easy. The setup says it takes 30min but I am not positive who does it. I felt that cleaning up and setting my yard was a bit difficult than settting up the pool. It took more than 20 hrs to fill this huge pool with our hose.

Wish I took a bigger hose. In takes around 13500 gallons of water. That’s a lot! The pool is very sturdy. My kids and my family are enjoying all the summer. We had to buy few things like net to clean up , solar heater to heat up the pool , ground cover while setup , I have to buy pool vaccum it’s a bit hard for me to clean up.

I love that it has got ladder to climb in and out. I felt the filter pump is a bit small for this huge pool. Overall I felt my kiddos are enjoying in the pool so the little bit of work is worth for their happiness.

they even have YouTube videos on how to setup. I would totally recommend it if your house has a big back yard and can give a bit of time for cleaning up.

For me, having an in-ground pool is not an option – my house is surrounded by wetlands that are too close to dig. I pretty much gave up on my dream of having a pool in my backyard until I saw the Bestway Power Steel above ground pool.

I liked the 18 feet by 9 feet by 48 inch option – it is pretty large, but not overwhelming to maintain and fill with water. After doing a research and watching several YouTube videos on set-up (and there are many available), I was glad that I was well prepared.

Even before the pool arrives, you need to do a good amount of preparation. One important thing is to make sure that your ground is fully leveled and does not have any sharp object (e. g. branches) under the pool as you run a risk of damaging the lining.

I also highly recommend wooden planks for the legs so they are anchored in a nice sturdy way. It is definitely at least a two-people job. However, the assembly went smoothly, everything connected the way it should, and I was glad that additional components, like a ladder and a cover were included.

I really like the color of the liner – it is truly adding to the experience. My dream is to have this finished and build a deck around it so it looks less temporary and more permanent. However, I can’t decide if the temporary is a great option, too – in a climate with 4 seasons, the option to take it apart and store it inside a shed for colder seasons is not at all a bad option.

One other suggestion – check with your local town board if you need a permit even for an above ground pool. I did in my town, and glad that I got it all done before the pool arrived, as it might delay things as well.

So overall – if you are prepared and have clear expectations that you are not buying a small kiddie pool that takes a bucket of water to fill, this pool is a phenomenal, cost-effective way to have a bunch of fun in the summer with the kids.

Our family is in love with this power steel deluxe pool! I was kind of surprised at the quality, it was actually really good specially compared to some other pools that I’ve used in the past. We were able to fill it up before we went to sleep and it was done when we woke up.

The assembly was quite easy as well. I felt like the instructions were easy to use and I was able to get it set up with just my husbands help in about an hour. This pool is big enough to fit my whole family of five comfortably.

I love the new filtration system in this deluxe power steel pool. It seems to work really well for a basic pump. I’ve had it set up in my yard for about a week only using the pump and minor chemicals and it’s worked great.

When you touch the pool it feels super sturdy. It does take up a lot of room because it is a big pool but it’s totally worth it. My older daughters loves swimming from one side to the other. We are going to have a pool party this weekend and we’ll see how it holds up but I don’t have any worry with the quality, It seems really well-made! Overall I feel like this is a great pool and I feel like it’s made very well, we are going to have a blast this summer!.

I was lucky enough to be able to get this pool right at the start of Covid once everything began shutting down. We typically get a public pool pass for our family but that wasn’t an option last summer so I’m glad I bit the bullet and bought this one.

We spent countless hours in our yard swimming as a family and I was actually shocked at how much use we got out of our pool! The set up was done by my perfectionist husband and it took him a couple days but that involved prepping the ground, making it level, etc.

The actual set up was a breeze according to him. I did help with setting up some of the posts/legs, but for the most part he did it all my himself. It took about a day and 1/2 to fill and raised our water bill just a couple hundred, but that of course varies based on where you live.

I have 3 sons who aren’t the most gentle but even with lots of usage and roughhousing the pool was sturdy & we had zero issues. I was very pleased and impressed with the quality and sturdiness as I’ve never had a pool before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

If you’re on the fence I highly recommended getting one, totally worth it!.

love this pool for multiple reasons. Some being that it’s super sturdy and withstands the horsing around of both my little and not so little kids. it was extremely easy to assemble even tho figuring out the exact instructions took a minute.

Will explain later but disassembly is also very easy when necessary. Have to say it’s pretty big for a pop up pool my entire family fit comfortably and i have a big family! we all love it. I do highly recommend it.

The only thing I didn’t like about it is those horrible instructions they’re instruction manual is horrible absolutely no help at all and finding a video online on how to assemble the thing is nearly impossible to find thank god that it’s pretty straightforward and it doesn’t take much thinking to figure it out how to assemble.

Other then that like I said I do highly recommend if your looking for something that’s gonna give me a bang for your buck!.

Please be mindful of the price when ordering. When in stock and fulfilled by Walmart this pool is generally under $600 however as the summer is heating up and Walmart is out of stock 3rd party sellers now have the pool for $900 The pump that comes with this pool is garbage, so I would count on investing in a better pump.

The instructions are not great, I had greater luck looking at youtube videos. It is very important the area you look to put the pool on is as level as possible. if you are off by a couple of inches you have all that water weight going to one side once the pool is filled up.

and you risk having the pool break. You will also need to invest in chemicals, and accessories like a pool skimmer/net etc. Overall the pool is not too big and not too small. Once you take the main pool liner out and start connecting all the poles etc.

setup goes real quick. What takes the longest is waiting for your pool to fill up and hopefully not getting sticker shock from your water bill 😉 I haven’t used the pool much, but so far happy with my purchase.

purchased this pool in april 2020 it is now nov 2020 and the pool is leaking!!!! from one of the intake connections on the liner. i registered the pool as soon as I got it so I thought for warranty purposes.

I filed a warranty claim and was denied because it only has a 90 day warranty. you would think a pool that costs $600 would last more than 6 months. not only is it leaking but the support poles are now rusting!!!! when first set up pool looks great and feels bigger than what it is.

but as far as materials are concerned pure garbage. I will never buy anything from this company again nor recommend it. I spent a lot of money to make my kids happy and it was just a waste of money. due yourself a favor and buy an aluminum sided pool yes its a little bit more money but will definitely last more than 6 months.

I found this pool on DiscoverMyStore, but also found the same Bestway pool dealer selling it for a bit cheaper else where. It is a fantastic pool and fits great in our yard along with our solar pool heaters that we bought on DiscoverMyStore to hook up to this pool.

HOWEVER the 3 plugs you need to plug into the 2 inlet areas and the one outlet area DO NOT FIT making it a heck of a situation to change the filter that is in the pool pump. You need those plugs, otherwise, when you open up the pool pump to install a clean filter, you will loose gallons of water! So, I have bought some rubber plugs via DiscoverMyStore, hoping these will fit better just so I can change the pool filter every so often this summer.

Also, I found a fantastic 12 X 18 foot solar pool cover on DiscoverMyStore, and it works GREAT with this pool! We just use the medium sized plastic utility clips (also found on DiscoverMyStore) to clip the overhang of the solar pool cover to the steel bars to hold it down to the pool.

**NOTE: also the green house you see there briefly, as well as the wood wishing well and this security cam to post up this quick video are also bought from DiscoverMyStore. What can I say?. I love shopping DiscoverMyStore! Seriously, this pool is really awesome but those plugs you need to be able to change the filter in the pool pump just DO NOT FIT.

If they had fit, I would have given this pool 5 stars!.

First, this pool is huge! The images definitely don’t do the size justice – you can definitely fit 4-5 kids in this, no problem. Pleasantly surprised by the little repair patch that came with this pool – square film the size of a post-it note to slap over any holes.

That said, it was pretty thin, so I’d still stick to duct tape. However, the plastic material feels thick and strong so I don’t anticipate any holes unless my dog were to claw at this. I’d give this 4.

5 stars if I could give half stars – it’s pretty much perfect except it took some work blowing this up. I didn’t have a pump for it and it doesn’t come one, but that’s to be expected at this price point.

I ended up blowing this up by mouth which actually only took 15 minutes! Wasn’t bad at all.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive kiddie pool that will definitely give you moderate use, then this will be a worthwhile purchase. It’ll definitely fit three kids comfortably – might be able to squeeze in a fourth, but overall, you really get what you’re paying for here.

No surprises and easy to inflate by mouth. Takes about 6 minutes depending on your lung strength.

It is easily inflatable! You don’t need any special equipment to inflate! Also it is a cool color. And it has lasted already for one whole month. I see great promise in this pool. Also super great value.

Great steel framed pool measuring 3mx2m. Instructions are not the best but it’s not rocket science!. Takes about 30 mins to construct and install. Material is good quality and the frame is sturdy. Ideal for a small garden and a summer of lockdown fun.

The fun my little grandchildren have in this pool is a delight to watch ! Their laughter warms my heart . It was my best buy ever !
