20 Best Wearable Bluetooth Speaker (2022 Updated)

I like to run with music but also like to be aware of my surroundings, the Noxgear 39g gives me that option. I no longer have to either forgo music altogether or have one bud in one ear (they always seem to pop out and need to be adjusted throughout my runs — I’ve got small ears).

I’ve been using the 39g since December and it is perfect! It is lightweight, clip it to your hydration belt/shorts/pants or shirt. It stays in place when I clip it to my shirt – it does not bounce around (which I was concerned about).

Please note I clip it to my sports bra and shirt (I run in South Florida so I get to wear tanks year round). I did use it for a “cold run” – our temps dipped into the 40s and I wore a long sleeve – i clipped it to the zipper opening and noticed a bit of rubbing on my skin afterwards — the sports bra clipping helps to prevent the speaker from hitting my skin as I run (easily solution for my next cold run – clip it to my belt.

I can adjust the volume as needed or skip or repeat songs on my playlist. I used it to run my first marathon in January — didn’t feel it on me the entire time. It more than lasted for the duration of my run (just over 5 hrs) — While I haven’t tested if it does in fact last 12 hours, I keep going out for short runs and finally got a message “battery medium” – it’s been a month since my marathon (when I last charged it to ensure I had enough juice for my race).

I likely wouldn’t use it again for another race — I was unfortunately privy to everyone’s ongoing conversations during the race. Unlike my training runs (which are all solo) there was no way to tune people out (in ear buds do this well).

I didn’t want to blast my music (out of consideration for those around me) but that could have been an option I suppose. If you don’t mind listening to everyone’s ongoing chatter while running, then you likely won’t be a perturbed by this.

That said, no one seemed to notice or mind my music as I ran. Which means the volume was just fine for me to hear and not enough for others to be annoyed by someone else’s music. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this little speaker.

It is lightweight, it’s got enough umph to provide you with tunes as you run, and it seems to be long lasting. If you’re on the fence about buying this – go ahead and get it. You won’t be disappointed.

The Nox rocks!! For those of us who are active and enjoy music or listening to podcasts while exercising, doing yard work, indoor rowing, or just daily life without blocking the sounds of the outside world this thing is awesome! 1.

The weight: It’s light and the ways to attach it by clip or magnet ensure it stays on you even when you’re bouncing around and in motion. It’s so light that you forget it’s attached to you. 2.

The sound: don’t expect a bass monster, but do expect a very loud little speaker that stays clear. I listen to all genres of music with the primary being thrash metal and it holds it own. It is also great for audiobooks and podcasts, as the voices come through crisp and clear.

The way they designed the angle of the speaker is perfect for directing the sound to you which helps with somewhat isolating the sound to you instead of totally broadcasting/annoying those around you if it’s at a low enough level.

I know people can still hear mine, because I tend to crank it up:) It is truly amazing how they get so much volume out of a small driver. 3. Battery: I get hours if play from it before charging (6+).

4. Phone calls: I have had two phone conversations on it while doing yard work and it worked better than holding the phone on speaker towards your ear, and the person on the other end couldn’t tell the difference.

5. Safety: Last, but certainly not the least is that I feel safer using this while out hiking, biking, or running because I am still aware of the outside world. I tripped across it from an Instagram ad and decided to give it a try, and I am glad I did! Communication from the company has been great and they have checked in a few times via email to make sure I am satisfied with the speaker.

I usually don’t leave reviews unless I strongly believe in the product or company, and I do on both fronts. That’s just my $0. 02, and I am not an audio professional, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

To be honest – I was a bit worried about annoying other runners/hikers. I HATE when runners don’t use headphones and just carry an external speaker or use their phones to play music. But, I sweat SO much and I have ruined countless sets of waterproof headphones, so I decided to give this a try when it went on sale for the holidays.

I tested it out indoors – hubby was 2 feet away and couldn’t hear my podcast that was coming through clear for me. On the trails, with the extra noise of footfalls – I think it is even quieter. A main selling point (and I read a bunch of reviews before taking the plunge) is how easy it is to pause what you are listening to when you go by someone.

The button is super easy to push and I can do that if I am worried about messing up someone’s quiet. I can even push it with mittens on! It is a bit heavy to wear on just a shirt, it flops around if the item it is clipped to isn’t snug fitting.

But it clips onto my hydration vest for longer runs and I can clip it on my trucker cap (speaker is facing down right above my ear so I can keep the volume way down) for shorter runs. I am really hoping that the claims of it being rain and sweat proof hold up as I am using it every day – rain or shine.

I have noticed a few times where the sound cuts out for an instant – but am hoping that is just bluetooth and not a sign of things to come. I mostly listen to podcasts (gruesome true crime podcasts – perfect for those solo runs in the woods) and the sound is great.

I can raise or lower the volume as needed and still not feel like I am disturbing anyone.

I pre-ordered the Torus on spec. I have been seeking a device that would be comfortable to listen to anywhere, including lying down in bed. I cannot sleep on my back for various reasons and lying on my side, head on pillow, I have found all sorts of headphones uncomfortable, even painful, to wear for any but short periods.

Headband sleep mask type headphones can still be uncomfortable because of inadequate padding around the earpieces, and the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. Overall I have been pleasantly surprised.

by the Torus. IT seems well-constructed and robust although I haven’t tried to break it to find out! I am an average European male, 5ft 10in tall and fairly stockily built. I find the Torus a little too snug around my neck but not uncomfortably so when I am having trouble dropping off to sleep and I can listen in comfort at a relatively low volume to music or audiobooks without disturbing my neighbours.

The sound quality is good and the bass is much better than you might expect – although one can’t expect shuddering drum and bass to translate well. Just as well then that I am not a fan of music with exaggerated bass levels.

Generally the Torus is pleasantly equipped to handle rock, pop and classical musics and it can manage a volume which I find excellently matched to my needs. Perhaps I should say that my days of damaging my hearing with excessive volume are long gone, so maybe headbangers will not get enough volume to induce tinnitus from the Torus.

I have used bluetooth connection to a Windows 10 laptop, a Ruark R5 player and a Moto G5s Android phone,without problems, although I do have problems getting it to pair with an Amazon Echo Spot. In that case I have to switch off competing bluetooth speaker devices, and get the Echo Spot to forget any other paired devices before I can get it to successfully pair and connect, even though The Torus happily tells me it is connected almost immediately before the Spot tells me it cannot find a device to connect to.

However once successfully paired the Torus can be powered off and on many times before it forgets its pairing with the Spot This problem could well be with the Spot (Gen 1) rather than the Torus – I cannot tell.

The bluetooth range seems up to spec and in my flat only cuts off behind a couple of intervening brick walls. The battery life seems to be excellent. The Torus tells you the battery level is still high even after 5+ hours of continuous listening.

I have hardly used the earpieces yet but they are comfortable in normal use and there is no tangling because of the way they reel into the Torus ring at the touch of a button. It is easy to change the rubberised gromets to fit individual variations in ear canal size with the supplied alternative sizes.

My wish list for future versions might include the possibility of bass boost, perhaps an on-board treble/bass equaliser, definitely a balance control for thos of us with reduced hearing in one ear or the other, even better battery life, and slightly increased radius for larger sized people.

Perhaps it would be possible to use replaceable rechargeable batteries in any future version so that the Torus’ lifetime is not limited by it’s battery lifetime – after all in this day and age we must try to avoid avoidable waste.

I would recommend the Torus to other people, and I would have a keen interest in future versions. I think this product is excellent value for money – it is a winner!.

As a sixty year old senior with hearing loss, and a spouse who does not, we’ve been struggling for years to find a solution to watch tv without subtitles or needing dual headphones. Then LG releases a tv that allows a secondary digital output to work in conjunction with the speakers, Avantree debuts their new low latency Oasis Bluetooth transmitter and then two months ago they release low latency neck phones called the Torus.

We had purchased the LG Oled for the picture quality and were very pleased to find out a bluetooth transmitter connected to the optical out would broadcast without turning off the speakers. We tried a less expensive competitor Bluetooth transmitter that was supposed to be low latency, but the lag was terrible without low latency ear pieces and ear buds can be very uncomfortable.

We ordered the Torus from Avantree’s website while they were on sale and it arrived three days later. The Torus was a little difficult getting to pair with the other brands transmitter and there was still some lag, even in HD mode, so we sent the competitions transmitter back and ordered the Oasis, which works flawlessly with the Torus! It was easier to set up than our previous one, pairs instantly, has absolutely no voice delay, sounds great and the battery is still saying high after eight hours of use.

I even tried the Torus with an older Bluetooth transmitter, which did not have low latency or HD, and there was just a very slight amount of lag from the tv, almost not noticeable. I’m a six foot American male with a size 17 neck and the Torus fits me perfectly.

The controls are laid out well and are easy to reach. There are only two things we’d like to recommend; the sound could use just a little more enhancement in the higher pitched female voice range. The second would be an easy to access switch so we can mute the speakers when your seat mate speaks, as even close to me they do not hear the speakers ( amazing) so they think I hear them talking.

I usually just cover that side speaker with my hand so I can hear what insight the better half is imparting, but a switch would be nice. We found Avantree’s website easy to search, checkout was simple and straightforward, after sale communication was good, shipping was very quick, and the owners manual was easy to understand.

We registered both items on the Avantree website and our warranty was immediately extended to twenty-four months. Thank you Avantree for offering these incredible devices to those of us with hearing issues!.

These Neckband Speakers with Earbuds work noticeably well for gaming, music, movies, Voice over IP, and of course Video Chat lately. They can pair with Multiple Bluetooth devices/phones at the same time.

In Neckband Speaker mode you get great sound that also dampens out some level of ambient noise in the room. If they are cranked up loud, you still don’t get that panicky earbud twitch worried that your eardrum is going to get blown out testing a set of earphones.

Jeezy. But MOST importantly you CAN hear a great deal of your background noise OVER a certain decibel level so you don’t feel like your ears are ‘plugged up’. The earbuds sound great, as good as any around the neck headset I’ve used, maybe the best.

Spoiler Alert: My “Game” name is always INTP, it cuts down on wasting your time getting to know me. I tell you upfront I am an iNTp, so you know I’m down for any idea that you might have, sometimes no matter how preposterous.

I’m open ears and a good listener. (My Super Hubby Trait #1) For example, the number 1 reason to buy this headset and try it is to JAM out with the music coming from the Boomerang Sound Speakers. It not only creates a crazy 3D effect if the media has it but still sounds like 4 speaker surround sound comparable to a Dolby Atmos or similar surround sound Experience.

But forget the bumbo jumbo gumbo, these things FELT LIKE GETTING A NECK and SHOULDER MASSAGE. I’m not affiliated, I don’t have an affiliate link. If you are a GAMER and you use these in SPEAKER MODE, you are immersed in MANY games that are set up for Dolby experience.

I think it uses 4 speakers, but that may be another one that I saw but the HOLOPHONIC Youtube(r) videos sound “Astral/Ethereal”, the sound moves around your space!.

These BeHear PROXY neck speakers are incredible, I would recommend this item to anyone. No more headphones falling off when you bend over. Israeli technology is the best for it’s design and wear plus retractable earbuds.

I am so impressed that I have ordered another set and due to be picked up any time now.

The BeHear Proxy is a very good device which helps the wearer hear television in a volume which people who hear very well can easily tolerate. Without the Proxy, no one else can be in the same room with the blasting tv!.

Too heavy on shoulders. Not easy to use. Had to remove device from shoulders to make sure you were pushing the correct button.

This unit is awesome. Sound quality is excellent. I chose this over the mini because it is able to handle bass at full volume without any distortion (granted I’m listening to rock, but it handles well).

Very easy to use, just power on and it works. Broadcast any blue tooth and it just works. The range is not bad, but it could be a bit better (though I’m not too familiar with blue tooth so perhaps that is standard).

If you watch the videos of this product on youtube. you will see this item is virtually indestructible. that is good to know.

After 3 months this thing is garbage. Never exposed to any outdoors or water. If you take cheap tiny components and give them no breathing room then any little thing will fry the resistors. The problem with being “proofed’ to death is that when ,suppossedly, nothing can get in that the reverse is true and the components can’t breathe.

This ends up being an expensive false promise that is not worth it’s individual components. In short. a well packaged gimmick you should avoid.

I saw this at fries electronics and got to play with display model but had sticker shock at the price. Found it for half retail here on Ebay and could not be happier with my purchase. It is LOUD and the sound quality is amazing, The range on the Bluetooth is stunning.

I Alos dig the fact that it last all day long and has a port for charging my phone in the back. It’s totally water proof which i was on the fence about but it really is! Little heavier than I expected but not much maybe 5 LBS approximately i can still comfortably walk around with it in my bag.

I was excited to be given this neckband speaker so I could finally see what Dolby Atmos was really like. Set up was very simple with my Bravia X90J XR TV, just plugged the transmitter into the optical port and USB, it then connects to the speaker using Bluetooth (it also disables the TV speakers).

The sound quality was very good and you quickly forget your wearing a speaker if it wasn’t that you get the occasional vibration from certain frequencies. Controls are simple, on/off on one side and volume on the other.

I have a Sony soundbar with a wireless sub which is probably 10 years old but still gives good quality surround sound and I honestly can’t say I found the shoulder speaker any better of an experience, I thought I would have some sort of revelation with Dolby Atmos but disappointingly it didn’t happen for me.

I can definitely see the appeal of watching something at a decent volume and not disturbing anyone else but the downside was other people could still hear the sound/dialogue, just couldn’t hear it properly which made it a bit of an irritation to others.

Definitely would be good in a shared house but didn’t do it for me in a family home.

I love these speakers, the sound is absolutely great! I really liked the idea of having my own personal speakers, as I find wearing headphones a bit too isolating at times, i. e. late night TV watching without disturbing others, but these are perfect.

The sound married with my Bravia XR TV via the supplied wireless transmitter, is fantastic, with really good bass. The 360 sound field really does contain the volume to my head space. Listening to 360 enabled music tracks is also fantastic, I am sure this format will become much more widespread soon.

The way the music jumps around your head space is incredible, it really does create a 3D sound image. This can be configured to your actual ear shape via an app which is very clever. The neckband is very comfortable, you don’t really notice you are wearing it, its great for hands free voice calls too.

Battery life is also excellent, I would really recommend it.

I really enjoy using the speaker neckband. The sound quality is excellent, an immersive experience – you really feel that you are surrounded by the sounds. The conversation, action or music dances from ear to ear if you move your head slightly.

Small vibrations on the shoulder add to the experience! It is easy to use the phone facility. Using apps such as ‘zoom’ or ‘teams’ whilst wearing the neckband is easy. ‘Working from home just got better! One touch of a button and you are connected.

Really easy to connect to bluetooth. The only drawback is that two people cannot share the same experience at the same time because more than one device cannot connect to bluetooth at the same time. Product quality is excellent, a quality look and feel.

Fits comfortably on the neck. Highly recommended.

This speaker is fantastic

Easy 5 star from me without the bta box, even with all its quirks. I bought one each with and without BTA. Pros * Great natural sounds plenty of bass * Good left and right separation * Calls loud and clear Cons * Useless BTA box * It’s kinda of heavy * Battery life is kind of short when the volume is more than 50% * pricey if not on sales It’s great for gaming if you don’t want to bother with hot sticky headphones or wire, but wants the full rich personal sounds.

It’s a perfect answer to my Xbox one X. Xbox does not allow any but their licensed Bluetooth headset to connected. The work around is to have a Bluetooth transmitter box connected via the optical audio cable.

That said, the bta box that comes with the soundgear is pretty subpar. I can’t keep the connection even to the next room a few feet’s away. As soon as I walk around the corner it cracked and studded.

I ended up buying a third party box and it works flawlessly. Soundgear does not have the greatest range but it’s plenty for normal everyday use. Battery life can be a bit longer. It’s on the short side with about 3-4 hours 75-80% volume.

The good news is the sound is quite clear at very low volume and not waking anyone up during late night session. Last but not least, the sound quality, it very unique experience. Sound quality is very crisp and present.

There’s plenty of bass but not for bass head. It’s quite natural not artificial like the Bose soundwear(I also owned). While it’s very secure on the neck with the rubberized texture, it’s heavy and when I lean back the neck and tends to move back a bit from time to time i would feel it teeter tod on my neck.

To be chosen to review this product made me a little nervous, as I am not really a gadget person. (other than PC’s and mobile phones). However I shouldn’t have been scared or nervous at all, it is amazing.

The most difficult thing I encountered was trying to fathom the instruction leaflet to get going. Once my daughter stepped in to help I was flying. I have also since found out that there is a users manual that can be downloaded in PDF.

It’s hands-free, it’s ears-free and it’s lightweight, and it sits comfortably on the shoulders and neck area, I found this great, as I hate the earpods, one time I forgot I was wearing them and went to go to bed! 🙂 It works with Bluetooth and easily connects to any enabled device.

What impressed me most was the sound quality, especially when watching TV. I presently have surround sound at home, and the difference with the Soundgear BTA is the crispness, the clarity and perfection of each spoken word and background noise.

My husband was loving it, when I had them on as it meant we didn’t need to have the volume turned up to full blast, annoying the neighbours. Using them when connected to the phone via bluetooth was fantatsic.

The convenience of the hands free facility meant I could note take and drink my coffee and still be fully focused on what was being said. Whilst it is a gadget and as I said in the beginning I am not a gadget person, but I have to say I loved this gadget, loved it for the freedom if offered.

Loved it for the convenience it gave and loved it for the fact it does what it says on the tin! Is it something I would recommend to a friend, most definitely yes. Apart from the instruction leaflet which I struggled with, the only other negative point and gripe I can make is about the actual cost, which I would consider is not good value for money, and is the only reason why I would not purchase this product.

These are the reasons why I have scored it 4* out of 5.

This is a great product for listening to content while doing work around the house when you want to hear the environment around you but don’t want hardware on your head. The unit is pretty rigid, so it might be a bit tough for people with larger necks to put on their shoulders, but it’s very comfortable when it’s on.

Not too light and not too heavy, doesn’t move at all when walking around the house and doesn’t shift around when leaning over to grab something. The materials used feel very sturdy and premium translating to looking great with durability.

Connecting to the JBL Soundgear is very quick and simple (I am a huge fan of the power switch over the the power button). The strength of the connection is great, going through quite a few walls and metal objects within my apartment without ever dropping the signal.

I would describe the audio quality as okay for most music (it doesn’t satisfy my bass needs for most songs, but I like alot of bass). However, this product is perfect for podcasts! For all audio, I think it does a really good job of separating the left and right audio, so it somewhat feels like I’m wearing headphones.

When the audio isn’t left or right specific, I perceive the sound to be coming from behind my head as opposed to inside the center of my head when I’m wearing headphones. It’s not bad, it’s just a different experience.

The Soundgear gets louder than I would ever need it too and I don’t hear any distortion at that level. I didn’t notice and perceptible lag when watching videos (youtube, instagram, facebook) which is great! The battery life is decent at 6 hours.

I could see people wanting more, but it was plenty for me, since I used this product primarily during quick house chore sessions. Also, it only takes about two hours to charge from zero percent battery.

Having the microphones on the unit is great for answering calls when your phone isn’t within reach. I can hear the caller very clearly and the mic quality is okay. The three control buttons are very nice having tactile feedback and answering/rejecting calls is super simple with a bump on the play/pause button.

The volume control and song navigation worked as intended too.

The neck speakers are excellent for the hearing impaired. I usually can hear people and most things, but when it came to TV watching it was difficult. It was not just the volume, but the clarity. My sister in Japan recommended these and they are much less expensive in Japan.

But although they are more expensive hear in the States, it is well worth the price. As with most Sony products it is well designed, comfortable and sound quality excellent.

Sounds great and volume is pretty much what I need without being too loud for the room. Also love the lows provided for bass. Really glad I bought it.

Will not pair with my Blackberry Motion and no help on the Sony website and it is very heavy. Most shoulder speakers others do not hear the sound you do but this is plain to everyone.

This is not part of the Sony group reviews that is all nice about the product. Lets get straight into the CONS of this device and that is the missing BASS. Every review keeps saying that the device is fantastic and the elephant in the room is the missing BASS.

On the Sony app I had to use the equalizer to max out the bass to 10 to get a slight relief that I could actually get enough bass to satisfied my annoyance. With the Bass boosted up the neckband speakers became “OK” meaning that it doesn’t annoy me and just enough to maybe keep these very expensive speakers.

Even my WF-1000XM4 were cheaper than this neckband at full MSRP. I need a neckband speaker for my late night binging of Netflix in my apartment. Although my Bose Mini Soundlink 2 with solid bass is good enough it is missing the immersive part.

With the Bass boosted up on the SRS-NS7 the neckband speakers is acceptable, not great, but acceptable; the bass can be heard and felt. The other problem is that I DO NOT OWN one of the XR TVs and therefore I DO NOT GET Adobe Atmos surround sound.

In fact the 360 sound that has you taking photos of your ears doesn’t work for Apple Music either nor any of the music apps that are common to US average user; i. e. no Spotify, no Apple Music. hmm nope no 360 degree sound from Netflix either.

So unlike an Apple AirPods where you get spatial sound from Netflix, Apple Music, the Sony SRS-NS7 has none of this even though they are selling the neckband speaker as having it. This is just another neckband stereo speaker that has a very hefty price tag, The problem for me is “do I return this?” and there I sit on the fence because the bass is “OK” just enough to waver on keeping it.

My definition of “Great” would be the Bose mini Soundlink II speaker sitting on your shoulders as there you can hear and feel the bass. Remember for the average buyer these Speakers do not give you Dolby Atmos nor 360 degree sound unless you subscribe to Tidel.

The SRS-NS7 are just a stereo neckband speaker for bluetooth TV, phone, ipad listening. You cannot use this neckband speaker out in the foodcourt because just like your phone speakers, everyone around you will get very annoyed with you.

Even at very low volume there is absolutely no privacy with these speakers. However for a single person in an apartment, these speakers are perfect with “OK” bass.

I have an expensive ($500) ear covering headphone set that is superb, alas, it is not great for walking outside because it masks ambient sounds somewhat — even when noise Canx is off. With noise canx on, I hear my music pretty much exclusively and am not aware of external sounds ( dangerous when walking outdoors).

Though comfortable, there is weight involved and that limits how long I can comfortable wear them. I have expensive earbuds that are superb. Downside is not weight, but again — not great for walking outside because the buds mask ambient sounds somewhat — even when noise Canx is off.

Sony has a remedy and they call their product a wireless NECKBAND SPEAKER. The weight is minimal and hardly noticed because the device is worn around the neck with weight born by shoulders. There is nothing masking ambient noise but your volume setting, instantly adjusted with touch up, touch down, and mute control buttons to deal w any situation.

The most important feature of any sound playing device is the quality of the sounds it produces. The NS7 Neckband is top notch. The lows, mids, and highs are rich, full, velvety. The bass is actually extraordinary because the speakers vibrate to the point you feel the bass (in a nice way) as well as hear it.

Part of this is speaker quality. Another part is ear customization. During the set up process (via the Sony app loaded on my iPhone), you hold the phone and move your head side to side so that images of your ears are taken, and analyzed, and the NECKBAND creates settings that are customized for your ear category.

I can’t over-stress the sound quality. This product produces 360 degree Spatial sound when music is received from several spatial sound transmission services (such as Amazon Unlimited — subscription required).

Unlike headphones, and earbuds, this NECKBAND actually generates 360 degree sound. The sounds are cast left, right, in front, behind, and vary vertically. During setup, you are given the opportunity to hear stereo, and then 360 degree spatial.

You can switch back and forth over and over. The 360 degree spatial is par excellance! I took and made phone calls with the NECKBAND. The microphones worked flawlessly, according to the folks I spoke to.

My sole disappointment was using the NECKBAND to listen to my TV. Sony provides an adapter that is supposed to connect wirelessly via bluetooth to the NECKBAND for their Bravia TVs and others. My 1 year old 55″ Hisense TV would not connect even though the Sony device indicated bluetooth was on, and I set the TV to PCM audio out as per directions.

It is probably a Hisense TV issue, but still — Sony needs to make the connection work with all major brands. If not for that blemish, I would rate the Sony NECKBAND as a 5 star product.

This speaker is such a great gift and offers great sound quality that can compete with others in the market of similar price. I bought the Selena limited edition and so a few thoughts: 1. The speaker’s buttons are not marked.

There is a sticker on the bottom that labels them, but it can be taken off and, unless you remember the buttons by memory, that may be an issue 2. The speaker lights up in the middle when it is turned on.

This makes limited editions sort of shine in the middle but the other two sides are left without illumination, which is kind of lame, but I understand the limits of design. It’s not a big deal, but it does take away from the models with artist designs.

If you think that would bother you, opt for solid colors 3. It comes with a neat necklace! These guys package so intricately. It’s wonderful to see how much love they put in their product.

Out of the box, they look cool, but feel cheap as well as the paint job. For it’s size and weight, it can be really loud. Bass is minimal. I work 10 hour shifts and this is advertised at 8 hours max.

I’ve gone around 9 hours and it’s still going strong so that was a surprise. For $100 there are better speakers out there, but for convenient carry and still packing a punch, this is a decent speaker.

I can see it priced around $60 though. For future microboom improvements, I would make the handle foldable, a knob for the the volume control instead of holding and pressing since it’s small you’d have to use two hands to do that which is inconvenient.

I would make the knobs pressable too to skip songs keeping the old format. For the display, instead of glowing bumpboxx logo, you can make a volume showing how loud or low it’s at. The chain, I just leave in the box.

It looks really bad.

As small as this speaker is, you get a very loud, good, clean playback of your music. And the fact that it’s small enough to fit in your pocket is a plus. I love the chain that comes with it. I now have the microboom, an ultra, and an uprock.

Love all three. Love the retro style of them. I’m an 80s baby and it takes me back to my childhood. If you’re looking for a speaker that bangs, anything from bumpboxx will do.

It’s actually pretty decent in the high end but has absolutely no bass. Well waterproofed just make sure the tab for the charging is in properly. It doesn’t sound like a small speaker except for the low end.

To be honest it’s better than I thought just if your looking for bass. Don’t get this.

I was very excited when I first picked up this product especially since this was my first real bluetooth portable I had purchased, unfortunately it didn’t quite meet my expectations for a speaker that costed $60.

For what you get, this thing is 5-stars all the way. Need a waterproof bluetooth speaker for the shower or the front of your kayak? Got ya covered. How about mounting one on your bicycle handlebars? Yeah, no worries.

It sounds pretty good for a tiny little speaker and it gets plenty loud enough to hear on the water, on the bike, in the mountains or up a tree. I haven’t actually tested it up a tree, just making an assumption.

And the battery is simply amazing. I charge the shower speaker once a month, maybe, sometimes less. If you can find one, especially on clearance, you won’t be disappointed. unless you’re just expecting way too much out of too little, of course.

I literally bought this to hang up in the shower only. It barely gets wet if at all but is in a steamy shower daily and performs flawlessly after 1 year of everyday use. I also almost always listen at max volume.

Great battery life, durable, and the sound quality is perfect at this price point. I own a Bose wave radio and this Altec has great quality sound as well. You can also use it to charge your phone in a tight spot.

Either way, I’ll sum up what you’ve likely read elsewhere because the majority of reviews are right on the money. Appearance: I love the design of these speakers! They look very nice & have a durable feel.

they are a little heavier than I expected for their small size which I prefer. The clip portion is a perfect size & fits on just about anything you’d want to hang it from. Even though I trust the JBL build, I still opted to buy a silicone case to offer extra shock protection.

The clip4 is the perfect travel size. I bought one for my sister-in-law who uses it as a hiking & shower speaker. I bought one for my dad who clips it onto his tool belt & takes it out on home inspection jobs, yard/home projects, woodworking, metal detecting, road trips.

This speaker packs a punch & it has crazy base for its size. It actually thumps which made me laugh considering its small size. As others have mentioned, you might want to consider utilizing an equalizer if you’re an avid podcast listener.

The base level can drown out the podcast or make conversations sound muddy. Spotify actually has an equalizer built into their app which works great!.

I’m returning this speaker because the buttons are very poorly designed. I’m an avid hiker and backcountry skier. I’ve had a Clip3 swinging from my backpack for years without any problems. My trusty Clip3’s battery is no longer holding much of a charger, so I decided to give the Clip4 a try.

Sound-wise, the Clip4 is solid, on par with the Clip3. Where the Clip4 completely fails is the button design. The Clip3’s buttons are recessed and required an intentional push. The Clip4’s buttons are the opposite.

They actually protrude and are extremely sensitive to touch. Even slightly grazing them will suddenly turn your speaker off or put it into pairing mode. I tested the Clip4 on a run a few days ago. It was hanging on my backpack and it turned itself off 5 times (no joke) as I ran.

As it swung from side to side, simply brushing against my soft backpack would turn it off. The button design is horrendous. In many years of owning a Clip3, it never once turned itself off. The Clip4 design is trash.

Skip it and find a Clip3 on Amazon or some other online retailer.

Overall a great little speaker. Sound quality is good with a full sound. Volume levels are great as well. Love that it charges USB-C. Clip feature is amazing – great for clipping onto a shower caddy in the bath or backpack when I’m out at the cottage or a friends.

Couple issues I’ve encountered in using it for a couple months. Firstly, the power button is in a spot that makes it easy to accidentally activate when picking it up or unclipping it. Very annoying when that happens.

Secondly, there is a sound that always plays when it’s turned on or off. I would prefer to have no sound or the ability with an app to turn off that sound. Sometimes I’ll be playing music for my kids to go to sleep and if the battery dies or I power it off then it makes a very loud sound.

These are minor issues but very annoying when they do occur. I think JBL could easily update these issues on the next version of the Clip speaker and it’d be a near perfect little waterproof speaker.

Ultimately, I’m super happy with the speaker and I think it’s a fantastic product.

Read some bad reviews but thought maybe they had singularly bad experience and decided to take the plunge. Had them for around 4 months and these are without a doubt the worst gaming headphones I have ever had.

If you buy it for all the bells and whistles expect to be recharging them a lot. They drain their power quickly, and you can forget charging them whilst you play. If you turn everything that you probably bought them for off you get a reasonable time per charge, but then why spend this much for these headphones when you can get more for the money elsewhere.

The reviews that warned me talked about crackling in the headset. Within 3 months I had started to get a crackle in the right ear that got progressively worse and for no apparent reason. It comes and goes regardless of if you have adjusted any settings.

Emailed the company and was told to just ‘wiggle the volume control a bit when it happens’ (that doesn’t work and also who talks about their products like that??). This crackling was something that came up in the other reviews I read at the time.

Another issue is that these headphones continually lose connection so you get to listen to them dropping in and out as you play. The only positive to that is that sometimes the crackle stops if they reconnect and you don’t have to do it manually, or restart your computer.

Add to this numerous updates causing issues and you have a real winner. Don’t do what I did and ignore the reviews. You can buy something much better for the same price.

Honestly, accidentally stole these from my dad after he purchased them for himself and wanted me to test them out and learn how to use the controls to teach him. he ended up needing to get himself another pair.

I have no shame. Take my review with a grain of salt. I’m very picky with actual headphones for listening to music, but this is my first headset. Anyway, great headphones. The USB dongle is the best way to use them just because it’ll force my Lenovo laptop to default all open apps to the 800 Game while bluetooth I’ll have to restart everything (this is more a laptop issue).

The sidetone feature is actually really helpful as well. The passive noise cancelling on the headphones is really good, but I like being able to hear myself speak and it prevents that awkward “hold on, let me take off my whole headset so I can hear you speak” moment.

Invaluable. You HAVE to use the app to use and customize this setting, though. And I don’t know how or why anyone is having issues with the dongle connecting to another source. I’ve used it on my laptop, at work, and on my boyfriends PS4 and never had an issue.

I do have issues with the bluetooth going to sleep on my at random times while on my laptop. Completely fine on my phone, though. Haven’t figured out how to deal with that yet. The fact that it’s discord certified is actually really nice as well.

Being able to adjust between voice chat and my game is helpful when they start getting rowdier or the game gets somber. BUT I have the same issue as most people where it’s really easy to change these settings and you can do it unintentionally.

But if it’s between not needing to readjust or not being able to fine-tune the settings. I’ll just readjust. I have nothing but good things to say about the sound. For casual listeners, you won’t notice any issues.

For people who need good sound quality, these headphones won’t disappoint. Sound is clear and you won’t deal with any compression or white noise issues for games and background music. They’re not for actual hi-fi music, but good for any streaming (Youtube, Apple Music, Spotify, game soundtracks) they’ll keep up.

I’ve also gotten SO MANY compliments on the mic’s clarity and everyone knows when I’m using any other headphones for chat. It’s good at filtering noise and only catching my voice when I’m in the office with my boyfriend.

Admittedly, I need to take better care of these headphones. I leave them at awkward angles, I transport them in a backpack with my laptop, they’ve been knocked off the desk, and yet they’re still good.

I had a giant blue tooth speaker for my home gym. My cat actually knocked it over and it busted. I found this online. When it arrives I was shocked by how small it was. It pumps out great sound for the size and because it’s small compact size I can move it anywhere in the basement and put it basically anywhere.

It’s also waterproof and wireless. Cant wait to use it outside in the back yard for bonfires. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

First of all I have owned other Bluetooth speakers in the past with very good sound quality. But this Bluetooth is a pice of junk. The sound seems to be coming out of a cereal box! The base is almost non existent.

And vocals aren’t any better. Save your money and and your stress. My recommendation is the ANKER BLUETOOTH SPEAKER. you can’t go wrong. And no I don’t work for them or know anyone that does. Have a wonderful day.

Havent had this item for too long, so far, for the price, this is a decent speaker. It doesent seem to distort when at high volume and the sound quality is ok. Cant say a lot about its waterproof capabilities but I can assure you it is for sure dust proof.

I drive a forklift for a living and most of our yard is dirt. Also I have ready dropped it several times and it hasn’t interrupted the sound quality or luckily knocked anything loose. Dont expect the sound you would hear from a JBL or any high end devices but for the price this could be right at the top for a cheaper version.

I would recommend this product. I do have trouble opening the flap to get to charging port but that just means its sealed really well.

I was super surprised at the sound that this little guy pumped out! Not only did it have amazing treble sound it also had some serious bass bumping to it! My daughter had been begging for a jbl speaker that she could take to school and listen to music on the bus or waiting for the bus with her friends.

I knew it coukdnt be anything too big and your traditional speakers usually don’t have clips like this which I love. I was a little taken a back when I saw the price of this little guy (until I heard it play music and then I completely change my thoughts.

After hearing it’s Mazing clear sound quality I wondered how it was so cheap!) I paid $50 for the ones I got my daughter and I believe we got ours on @Amazon. They run anywhere from about $46 all the way up to $96 on some sites.

They come in 11 different colors on most sites but if you go to jbl website you can even customize your own color!!! How cool is that. Last I checked jbl was out of stock on their site. It’s also really nice that it clips on to your bag or your belt loop so you keep it close and don’t lose it or leave it at the pool.

This little speaker was pretty fun for the time I had it. The sound quality wasn’t the greatest out there. It was sort of a gimmicky little thing. The whole point is that it’s small and clips on to whatever.

For those purposes it was fantastic. But I would recommend getting a different portable speaker. There are loads of options out there. This one did do a pretty dang good job for a while though. I lost it one day when I had it hooked to my backpack and it fell off and rolled off the side of a bridge when I pulled off my bag to grab something.

It was a sad day but oh well.

This little speaker packs a punch. It’s pretty inexpensive and it’s small, which means it’s very portable. It’s water resistant so I take it to the lake and I clip it onto my inner tube and listen to music while I’m floating on the lake.

This speaker is surprisingly loud and has great sound for such a small thing. Something went wrong with my charging port though so now my speaker won’t charge which really sucks, because now I have to invest in a new one, but it lasted me a few years before any malfunctions.

I replaced my JBL Clip 3 after a year of rugged service hiking and river rafting with the JBL Clip 4 with hopes of the same level of performance. After working with support to get the correct JBL Clip 4 USB-C charging cord.

After resolving the charging issue, I’ve noticed the design placement and sensitivity of the power button makes this a frustrating piece of electronics. If you ever so gently brush the power button it shuts off, if you set it down on the table it shuts off, if you have it clipped to your backpack it shuts off, if you even look at it sideways, it shuts off.

The power button is just too sensitive, placed in a poor location on the speaker, should have been depressed in the body like the JBL Clip 3 to avoid all these inconvenient power cycles, usually when I’m singing along to my favorite tune.

JBL should do more usability testing on their next iteration, I would gladly trade the JBL CLIP 4 in for another JBL CLIP 3 if given half the chance.

I have had every Clip speaker since the first one. Great for riding and walking without having to use headphones and the ability to answer calls from my phone. This new model has a really deep sound and as a stand alone speaker is great to listen too.

However, a real advantage for the clip used to be the ability to answer calls without having to stop and retrieve the phone. My first day of using I went to answer call on my bike and it did not work.

I thought I had stuffed up the Bluetooth and my watch was taking over. But no, the brainiacs at JBL have removed the phone answering feature. Very disappointing. I would rather not have this now and the store does not want to take it back because I don’t like it.

Why did this feature get removed??.

I’ve no idea why some people are complaining about lack of speakerphone. Someone who goes out into the wild and spends the time on speakerphone has completely missed the point. Aux cables are also outdated, so I’m glad they got rid of the 3.

5mm jack. An app would be nice for updates, and to check battery percentage, but overall I’m really happy with it. It’s simple, stripped back, portable, and functional, and that’s the whole point. Adding in a 3.

5mm jack and features like a microphone adds weight and reduces waterproofing, which is the whole point of this speaker! So stop whinging, and if you want speakerphone or additional inputs, buy the flip 6 because you’re clearly not that worried about portability.

This is a great little speaker but let’s get some “problems” out of the way first. First off is arguably the most important, the sound. It’s got a bit of feedback that can be heard at low volume so it doesn’t sound as clear as it could be when doing things like relaxing to some nice quiet acoustic stuff.

There is some lack of bass and has a very noticeable amount (at least to me) of bass loss at high volume. It also rattles when pushing a ton of bass. And lastly the little pin for the pivot point of the carabiner likes to wiggle its way out a couple millimeters.

Now one minor nit pick is when I double click the middle button like the instructions say, it doesn’t skip songs it just does nothing. But after reading that please don’t think that I don’t like it. This thing is awesome! It’s beautifully designed and I literally find myself looking at it a lot.

I love the metal ring going around the whole speaker, it’s gorgeous! Although a little low on bass for my taste (and I’m not much of a bass junkie) , the sound still comes through pretty clear and at a good volume.

I’ve only had mine for a couple days but my cousin has one and has given it some serious abuse to which it’s help up to. I hope this little guy lasts me years. Great job, sounds nice, I’ve loved it!.

The only thing great about these ear buds is the sound quality ,the quality control failed miserably twice ,the first pair I bought I dropped one of the ear buds after 60 days and could not get it to work so I seen a sale on amazon and said,hey why not bought another set.

They seem to be working fine but again after 60 days I’m getting all kinds if interruptions of static then switching various tone settings by itself. So I upgraded the software for the buds as well as the latest update for my iphone and still the worst possible connectivity even when I have the phone in my hands ,then now I cannot use them because they refuse to be heard or work when I need to talk on the phone.

Talkback just quit working. I cannot believe that a company like JBL would put such trash on the market then stand behind this product. After twice purchasing this product JBL should grant me a free pair to make up for the money I wasted and still cannot use them at this time.

I purchased 1 pair then 60 days later the left ear bud stopped working ,I loved the sound quality so much I purchased a second pair then 45 days later they started having connectivity and pairing issues.

I went to the site and upgraded the software then upgraded software on my iphone and they have been an extreme disappointment. When they pair I get static and then one ear only works and now presently they don’t even show up on any of my devices when bluetooth is scanning.

It’s like they just stopped working completely. JBL should be ashamed about their quality control because I will not purchase anything from jbl ever again. Hey JBL send me a free pair for my inconvienence and maybe my trust would be instilled to use and promote your products.
