20 Best Wearable Sleeping Bag (2022 Updated)

I bought 2 bags for my husband and I. We used them this past weekend for our trip to Atlantic City. They were absolutely perfect! A must for anyone who travels especially now with the COVID 19. Just lay them on top of hotel sheets and climb in.

So roomy and comfortable. We will never travel without them again. Well worth the money. I already washed them and they came out perfect! They were delivered sooner than expected which was also a plus.

Originally bought one for me, but my daughter immediately took possession of it. Had to get a second one. Only improvement I can think of: use zippers the color of the fleece material and make the moving part detachable for when it’s used as a blanket.

Very, very thin. I can see through it. I had purchased an Ozark trail fleece sleeping bag from Wal-Mart years ago and was looking for something similar. This is basically a t-shirt in the shape of a sleeping bag.

I do like this sleep sack as it is cute and long for our tall girl. I bought this oneThe neck/head hole is quite large though. Our little is 13 months so I am not super worried about it covering her face as she will just move it.

We have it in 12 to 18 months so I am unsure if the smaller size is also have very large neck/head holes, but I would’ be cautious.  We bought this one along with the Luvable friends elephant pattern and Hudson Children’s woodland animals one.

This one and the Luvable friends one have larger neck holes and the Hudson Children’s is appropriately sized.

Purchased this sleep sack in size 6-12 months for my almost 7 month old. He is in the 93rd percentile for his height and 63rd for his weight and this sleep sack is very big, especially around the bottom.

He will definitely have plenty of room to grow. Just keep in mind if you have a small baby, you may want to size down. Didn’t seem to shrink after washing and drying. He seems comfy and the designs are super cute! Good for the price.

Light weight material, perfect for spring, summer, or fall where we live in upstate NY. Great quality, sturdy zipper, still in perfect shape after 5 or so washes. We bought a few of these and this is my favorite pattern.

I wish they made these in my size! So soft, stretchy enough but structured the way you need it to be, and an absolute bargain compared to other name brands. My only wish for all sleep sacks which this one doesn’t offer, is a double zipper from the bottom so that you don’t have to fiddle with hooking the zipper at all.

I knew it didn’t have that feature when I bought it, so it doesn’t bring down my reading at all. The sleep sack is so cute and I feel way better spending my money on a few of this sleep sack instead of blowing a ton of money on only one of the more popular name brands.

This truly is the only sleep sack you’ll ever need! I’ve used the same sack for two siblings from ages 2 months through potty training at 22 months and it could withstand another child for sure! This thing is made to last and gets super soft with time.

The zippers are very sturdy and so are the snaps. Night time diaper changes are an absolute breeze – the easiest on the market. I was given all sorts of sleep sacks for my baby showers and nothing else compares – truly.

We also used (and loved!) the car seat holes more than we thought. This sack became a security blanket of sorts with both kids (signaled bedtime) and it came in handy during long road trips when we wanted to promote sleep.

Don’t let the price deter you. If you’re on the hunt for something that is well made, will last through multiple children and gets better with time this is your sleep sack!.

We LOVE the Woolino sleeping bag. My 16 month old has been sleeping in it since he was 3 months old. We actually have 3 of these because when they are tiny babies there are more accidents and milk stains, specially if they spit up during nighttime feedings.

After he got to maybe 9-10 months old the bags rarely get dirty so I just wash them to refresh them as needed. I bought the wool soap they sell on this site also, but honestly I just mostly use any baby detergent (always wash closed in a laundry bag to protect the wool from ripping, then hang).

I have also dried them on low without any issues. I would still recommend purchasing 2 if you can afford it so you can allow them to dry without using the dryer. The bags have stayed looking great and my baby knows when he puts on his blanket it is time to sleep.

This specific purchase is for a gift since I think it is a great quality item that has really been useful for us.

I love the print of this sleep sack and keeps my baby nice and warm throughout the night. The color is perfect and matches my baby’s nursery, however, few cons. – I do wish there were solid colors available, because it doesn’t match with her different crib sheet sets.

-I was a bit disappointed with the quality because everyone raves about the durability, however, after the second day using it, it began pilling from the inside and there are now fuzzy areas. I’m concerned that it won’t hold up after several washes.

I have yet to do the first wash. Also, my baby doesn’t move in her sleep, so I’m wondering if it will continue to get damaged as she becomes more mobile. She’s only 4. 5 months old and was really hoping it would last the 2 years it claims to last for.

Overall, I like it and my baby does too, just hoping it’ll hold up long-term.

The quality of this ‘wearable sleeping bag’ seems really nice and it’s the warmth I was looking for! I bought it because my apartment is FREEZING in the winter and I’m hoping this helps. That being said, the sizing is extremely weird.

I’m 5’3 and 115 lbs, a small person. I bought the small and it’s so short I can’t wear the booties. When the booties are attached the legs are so tight I can’t bend over. My roommate said it looked like I had hooves.

Seriously, the ‘foot’ shape doesn’t make any sense. When I take off the booties, the legs are really short. The body of the ‘bag’ fits well, so I’m not sure how sizing up would be. This was on sale and I’m not planning to leave the house in it anyway, but it’s disappointing that I won’t be able to use one of the features (especially with my cold feet).

This thing is amazing! The suit is extremely comfortable and warm. I live in a bus so I love drinking some hot tea lounging on my futon/bed and then curling up in my comfy “body bag”. Would recommend it to everyone who likes to stay warm while having the ability to move freely.

Perfect for camping or early spring ball games. You will be the envy of the crowd when they see how nice and comfortable you are and they’re still freezing. Easy to move around in and fit is pretty true to size.

I thought this would be a great idea for hiking. it,s heavy, and on 30-degree night in a tent, I had several cold spots. your hands and feet will be different temps and it’s something you will notice and drive you mad.

While this is a fun idea, you would be warmer and spend less on a full sold weather suit. I couldn’t wait to get off trail and return it. Also, get ready to be the butt of every joke.

I used this bag to go camping with a hammock in 15 degree weather and was very comfortable, temperature wise. HOWEVER,, I am 5’11 220 pounds fairly athletic build. This bag was wayyyy to cramped. All night felt like I was in a straight jacket.

Bag is rated for a 6 foot tall person, I would say realistically, if you are 5’10 or taller, get a bigger bag. At my height, top of my head was smashed in the hood, and had a hard time closing the zipper.

Long story short: This would be an excellent bag for someone with a slightly smaller build, As it’s very warm and comfortable.

performed really well for its price point at the beginning of the camping season on the canadian east coast. there was a frost warning overnight and the bag stayed nice and warm. packs to a decent size, though not as small as you may want for backpacking/backcountry camping.

greetings, so I bought my North Face Cat’s Meow +5 bag 30 years ago for $200, and it still going strong today!! I just bought two of these bags for my kids, we haven’t used them yet, however, I got in one.

It seems a little tight compared to my old bag, which is obviously personal preference. I notice the zipper is much smaller and seems not heavy duty compared to my zipper from 30 years. We see if that an issue or not.

Finally, my kids want to use the bags in the house because they like them, I tell them NO! because if they get used to the bag with indoor temps, what is going to happen when we take them outside camping?! Cheers.

Bought this degree rating for weight conservation for multiple 3 day guides and 8 day loops in the upper Northeast US region. Has been tested during 40* degree highs with lower temps dipping around 7* degrees at night (real feel Neg -7 to -12).

Here’s how I do it. Bag is realistically rated around 18 to 25*ish because I’m a hot sleeper. I used a reactor liner on the decent night’s above 10 degrees without base layers, down booties and puffy,fishing wader liners and accessories until the teens and single digits and still was very selective on which layers!!! Keep the loft up on the bag and it holds very well.

Unfortunately I don’t have an Ether XT Extreme (yet) to pair this bag with, so I use a competitor 4″ 4. 2 R- value with Z-pad or B/A Bio foam, tenting on snow and dirt with tyvek so far(for reference).

The Good: The bag held warmth way better than expected. I believe the DWR and U/D Down in this bag is spot on and look forward to seeing how they will better this technology further in 2022. Water bottle dumped on foot box and i literally shook it off like a duck.

NO absorption whatsoever for now! Usage with proper care is KEY! Foot box is pretty roomy even when crammed from sliding, but stays pretty warm with proper layering for the conditions and staying away from the tent walls.

The “not so Bad” but really annoying: This bag is Slick. like Owl excrement. Almost any kind of angle will have you playing slip and slide on your mat. I wear merino base layers and feel like I’m sleeping on a ice sometimes.

Pull yourself up. slide back down aaand repeat. Wake up in a ball at the foot of the tent but works magic on your abs!!! So at the end of the day ground dwellers are hunting for almost perfectly flat sites or getting perfectly chiseled abs from crunches! Win Win!! Hammocking with air mat isn’t much of an issue.

I’ve had this issue with most of the newer bags I have bought since 2014 that use the lighter nylon. So it’s a love and hate kind of relationship. Slight zipper catch on the baffle (really slight) and leaking by shoulder/neck area,but could be contributed to me tossing and turning like an angry groundhog.

Neck and hood baffles are great though. Well made and stuffed with plenty of room to cinch up, but you’re not stuffing your big head AND your deluxe pillow at the same time. Not happening. I tried, but it’s not a deal breaker either! Shoulder width could be better please! I’m thinking by an extra 1 to 1.

5″inchs, added for us working fellas on trail with the broad shoulders. No worries, we can handle the extra weight and would appreciate that extra “wiggle” room!(Wink Wink). Ohhhh yeah. Why did you stop the zipper there again? Please let me open up that footbox! Sometimes we like to open ‘er up in the morning like a big ole’ blanky with our breakfast! Give the people what they need!!! No fuss Breakfast blankies! This bag really could be 5 stars if I wasn’t losing sleep over it.

I’m not evil either. so 4. 675 stars for overall functionality,Baffle upgrades and quality control with the down. Still a great piece of gear for the money and c’mon its Sea to Summit! Enough said. Yes I recommend this product as a professional,but don’t condone my actions with product specifications.

I am 6’2/80kg/slim and have the long versions. I have two of the older models, the Spark Sp I and the Spark Sp III, they are so crazy light (400g! and 720g) and I used them on the PCT in 2018. They both worked very well.

This is what I noticed: 1 They pack down really small, they don’t get dirty even though the color is kind of white, the can handle some water spray, the down stays in its place well enough, and when you get up in the morning and it is still cold you can wear the bag around your shoulders instead of a jacket to keep warm.

2 When it gets really cold and you close the hood with that chord, you lose a lot of space. I added velcro to both so that the top of the hood simply goes down to meet the main part leaving something like a straight line with a small opening from left to right.

That way you do not lose so much space, keep the cold air out and you can still breathe. Kind of hard to explain in words. 3 It is very difficult to reach to the very bottom where your feet are (to get your socks on or off your feet, to scratch your feet, to reach the stuff at the bottom of the bag etc.

) because they are so tight and yes, it is hard to get in and out because of the short zipper. Sometimes I had everything in my bag to keep it from freezing. but that is just how a mummy bag works. 4 You can only be completely in or out of those bags, there is nothing in between.

When I had the warm bag and it got too warm to be inside but too cold to be outside, it was frustrating because I got really hot and could not open the bag to get any ventilation inside to cool down because of the short zipper.

You’ll probably only notice any of this if you spend a few months in them. In my next thru-hike I will probably try a quilt.

Used it to sleep in the Moroccan Sahara floor in April during Marathon des sables 2018. I estimate our coldest night was around 5 celcius and i slept perfectly fine. My setup was: Mattress/pad: Gossamer gear torso length pad Sleeping bag: Spark spII Down jacket: Arc’teryx cerium SL.

Slept with down jacket and a buff over my shaved head during that coldest night. I didn’t have a liner to save on weight. The other nights were around 10 celcius and slept just with shorts and t-shirt.

Only good things to say about this bag.

This is the smallest sleeping bag I could find that provided comfort in this temperature range. It packs down so small that you can bring a thermal liner for extra warmth when the weather is outside of the bags range and still pack smaller than a normal synthetic sleeping bag.

Half zipper might be discouraging for some as it doesn’t allow you to stick your feet out.

I used this sleeping bag for self supported hiking in New Zealand. It was perfect, small, light, compact yet it kept me warm at all times with occasional temperatures close to freezing. I used the regular size which fit perfectly but I am a 110 lb female.

I think it would run small for most man or a heavier female.

I’ve been using this bag for a year and a half, and have put it through the ringer while camping in Washington State. For the price, you can’t beat it; I’ve pushed it down to single digits at night, and with the proper sleep system to support this bag (waterproof top cover and ground pad), it performs well.

I’ve never slept poorly in this bag, as long as it was under 40 degrees (and warmer and you’ll want to keep the bag unzipped). The only downsides are the size of the packed bag and the zipper. The zipper is pretty low quality and snags easily, making it a pain to get zipped up all the way.

When the bag is packed into the stuff sack, it ends up taking up about 25-30 liters; meaning it either needs to be kept on the outside of your pack, or you need a very large backpack if you’re backpacking with this bag.

I used this last weekend for a winter camping trip in NC. Temps were steady around 25F with a real feel of 20-22F, to include about a quarter inch of snow accumulation. The bag did pretty well used with a 3 season tent (unfortunately lol).

I didn’t freeze obviously (haha) but I also wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve ever been in terms of keeping warm. I definitely don’t consider this bag high performance by any means, but for the price and quality of it you can’t beat it.

A few other reviews mentioned the liner fabric. It is very cozy; not the slick nylon feel most other bags have. It’s more like a microfiber fabric. The outer material is also very sturdy, not something thats going to rip or snag easy.

Mine is left zipper oriented, which isn’t my favorite, but again a minor detail when you’re looking at the price. All in all good option for car campers looking for an affordable option for cooler trips.

I have two older, expensive, sleeping bags which are reaching their end. one summer bag one winter. I saw this bag and grabbed two. My question is how can a bag of this quality come at such an affordable price? After sleeping two nights in the teens and staying warm and comfortable the question remains.

I am tired of paying top dollar for great gear when companies like TETON offer similar products for a fraction of the cost while matching quality, form and function; perhaps there is prestige in overpaying.

I am currently evaluating every piece of my backpacking gear and vow to try out TETON products when replacing it. A new ALTOS 1 tent will be my next investment. Nice work TETON Outdoor Products from a new and very impressed customer.

Took this bag on a few winter adventures, including one expedition into the St. Elias Range on the Yukon/Alaska border one spring years ago, when the temps at night pushed the limits of the bag. I’m not going to lie, I was cold when the temp approached -20 at night.

But I also could have been on a warmer sleeping pad, and our tents were set up on a glacier. I mean, it was nearly 20 below zero at it’s coldest, what do you expect at that temperature?! Considering that, I never was shivering, or hypothermic, and did sleep enough most nights.

This bag, despite being down, is a bit bulky, even with a compression sack. This makes it hard to backpack with. But if you’re winter camping, pulling it on a sled, or flown into a location onto a glacier like we were, it should keep you warm well below zero, in most situations.

Strongly recommend you wash the bag with Nikwax Down Proof in a good front-loading washing machine before using it. And use a liner to keep the bag clean.

I have been using the sleeping bag while van living and camping in the High Rockies. I have tried it on -26 C and it has proven to be very warm. No disappointments there. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because the zipper gets stuck a lot, pretty much every time I pull it up or down.

It could definitely have a better material, be stronger.

I bought this bag for when we camp on glaciers during multi-day ski treks and I love it! Very packable, very light for it’s temp rating and of course, it’s warm. I’m not a cold sleeper and feel like the -29 will actually be accurate for me.

I have been wanting a classic style, roomier rectangular down bag. My family gave this one to me as a gift and I was excited to use it as it seemed just what I was looking for. I have only used it for one car camping trip in June on the Sound where nighttime temps where about 50F which I thought this bag should be ideal for.

However I barely slept as I could not get warm even wearing wool long underwear and a thick puffy vest with wool socks and wool hat. The down fill on this bag is very sparse, I would not recommend this at all unless you run warm and are looking for a cooler bag for the summer months.

Not sure what I will do with this bag but if you run at all cool I would keep looking, Big Agnes makes much warmer though less compact down bags.

My previous down sleeping bag was from another manufacturer. It is a mummy bag style and when the weather is on the warmer side it is uncomfortable not being able to stretch and move. Unwilling to give up the down insullation that I love but wanting a rectangle bag I began my hunt.

I was super excited to find Kelty made a rectangle down bag. I have a lot of Kelty packs and tents and love them all, bought this bag without hesitation. Took it out on my first trip last weekend and have no regrets.

If you are looking for a down rectangle bag buy this one, I love mine.

Ive already used the galactic 30, and I think its perfect. Ive used it at 35-40 degree nights, and I guess I run hot, it seems to work for me. Unlike other complaints. I will say the adveristing is wrong; At the time I purchased it, the website says 600 dridown, but the packaging material I have says 550 dridown.

Not a big deal. I basically wish they made high quality rectangle bags. I want a 750 dridown, 20 degree or 0 degree rated rectangle bag. The ultralight community is making comprimises for sleep comfort and I’m along for that ride.

I toss and roll around a lot, and need lots of space when I sleep. Rectangle bags are essentially quilts; meaning they are versatile bags, or quilts is just a good marketing buzz word for a rectangle bag, that dont zip up :*(.

Anyways this is my unorganized ramble.

Absolutely love their products. I have 4 various sleep sacks, many rompers for sleep, onesies, pants and cardigans for my little guy. Pros: The fabrics are amazing and love how soft it all feels. My son spends 12-15 hours a night/day in pajamas, so I make sure he’s comfy.

Cons: can’t dry them so there is always clothing hanging, super soft = not durable (son chewed a hole in his sleep sack), and takes WEEKS to ship items if you purchase during a sale. The 2022 Mother’s Day sale is taking 4 weeks to ship, so you may not get your items for 5 weeks.

I’d prefer to skip the sale and just get my items… terrible way of doing business though. Also, don’t order through Amazon, I received the wrong size 3x before giving up and going back to Kyte directly.

TLDR: I’ve tried Halo, Ollie, Magic Merlin, Aden Anais, Nested Bean, Love to Dream, SwaddleMe, etc. and this is by far my (and my baby’s) favorite sleep sack! I’ve used a lot of sleep sacks/swaddles over time and I bought this one thinking it’d be a backup since I’m constantly washing the Halo sleep sacks.

I didn’t think sleep sacks could really be any different but I was WRONG! This sleep sack is so soft and feels like a quilt on the inside. There’s a bit of weight to it (I was expecting it to feel like the 0.

5 TOG Halo but the quality of this sleep sack is MUCH better). I like that the zipper is off to the side because my child sleeps on their stomach and they seem to appreciate it because they sleep better in the Kyte sleep sack.

I truly feel that the Kyte designers thought everything through when designing this product.

Now That We’ve Been Using This Bag For The Last Six Months, I Figured It Was Time For A Review! We Only Have The One, So It Has Been Used Every Night. It’s Amazing! We Transitioned To Kyte From The Love To Dream Transitional Swaddle, And My Baby Immediately Loved It.

Even The First Night Was An Improved Sleep. Six Months Later He Is Still Comfortable In It, With Lots Of A Room To Grow. I Will Definitely Be Buying The Next Size Up. Downside Is That It Takes Forever To Dry, And I Mean 10 Hours, And We Live In A Dry Environment.

It Also No Longer Feels As Soft As It Was When We First Bought It, But That May Be Due To Our Water Hardness Or Detergent Buildup. Overall, Though, Very Happy With This Purchase And Found The Price To Be Worth It, Considering The Longevity Of It.

This sleeping bag liner is a fantastic addition to any sleeping bag. So warm and comfortable it will improve any temperature rating of any bag. Yes it’s a side zip and if used with a Carinthia centre zip bag its a little tricky but all I did was get in the liner before the sleeping bag.

The quality of this product is excellent. There is no loose threats and the sense of the fleece is very smooth and cozy.I highly recommend it. Carinthia value guys….

Definitely pay attention to the size. I’m small but tall and went with the L- that was the right call for sure. This thing is incredible, so comfortable with a cool pattern. Excited to try it out on an upcoming camping trip.

Really love this 3-season bag after two summers and 50+ nights in the Colorado high country. It packs small and lofts well. Even though Rab have a couple of lighter bags with a similar rating, the Neutrino 400 hits a sweet spot for me with price and features (especially with one of REI’s sales).

I lust after a Western Mountaineering Ultralight but I’ll stick with this at roughly half the price (yeah, I got it on a 30% sale). I’m 70” and just under 150# and an active sleeper. There’s room at my feet for some clothes and a gas canister.

A couple of complaints: the zip pocket is small for a phone but holds a headlamp. The pull cords around my face can be a bother. That’s about it, not worth deducting a star. I just stuff it in the bottom of my pack in a trash compactor bag and forget about it until evening.

I’ve given this bag several attempts and every time it has disappointed me. The first time I tested it, the temperature was around 15°F (-10°C) and I used a thermarest neoair mat. I was very cold and had to wear a baselayer, fleece, and down jacket to stay warm.

Thinking that perhaps I needed a warmer mat, I’ve tested it twice at around 30°F (0°C) combining the neoair with a Zlite, and both times was again cold and needed extra layers. I’ll admit I’m pretty skinny and not someone who stays warm easily, but given that this is a bag rated for -7.

5°F, this just doesn’t seem right. I’m also puzzled that others seem to give this bag glowing reviews – perhaps they are warm sleepers or the amount of down fill varies? Aside from the warmth issue, I like this bag.

It has a good amount of internal space for those with a wider build, or for keeping items inside to prevent them freezing. There is a small insulated pocket inside for a phone too, which is handy. I also like the neck baffle, which does a great job of keeping cold air out of the bag without strangling you.

I’ve seen reviews that complain about the elastic cords for cinching down the hood, but personally this doesn’t bother me.

Very excited by this well-made bag. Exercise caution at the claims made by manufacturer. Not safe for freezing temperatures. I’m just back from camping in Black Mountains in Wales where it reached a modest 7 degrees at night.

I was very cold in this bag and had to wear long johns, socks, multiple woollen layers and a down jacket to stop from shivering. Disappointed by its performance although it is still good quality construction and I will use it for warmer camping in the summer.

I have a heavier Rab bag that has never let me done, but it weighs 1. 6kg.

Owned this now for 12 months now. Super lightweight and packs down small. Had this in +3c degrees min sleeping in a wool T-shirt and wool boxers. I threw my down jacket in to take up air space over my chest and was perfectly fine within a single wall tent.

At +6c I ended up using the sleeping bag like a quilt to let a bit of air in. Zips are good quality, but you have to be conscious of them catching if your too rough or quick. The neck baffle and head cover work really well.

This really makes a difference in warmth factor. If I went full thermals and clothes/socks (which is how the bag ratings are set) I would have been way too hot, so I would say the bag rating is bang on for -2c to -5c if your layered up, you will be toasty at the comfort rating.

Can’t stress the importance of having a quality INSULATED sleeping pad to match. This is a technical sleeping system and designed to keep you warm, so spaciousness and freedom are secondary. As a side sleeper there is a bit more getting used to being cocooned but the hiking weight is worth it which was my number one requirement.

Very good product for the price, excellent weight for hiking, highly recommended.

The Spark SP II really shines is in its weight and packing size. At just 1. 21 pounds for a size long, it is among the lightest of the 3-season sleeping bags, and I have cinched it down even smaller than pictured.

Spark II has an awesome warmth-to-weight ratio, and is a quality build with premium 850+ fill power goose down. Because of how I pack, I find this product so useful in saving weight and space when I have to accommodate other things.

I have 3 sleeping bags, the other two have more specific use cases. I really love it when I can pack this one for my trips.

Its weightless and packs down so teeny tiny. When all fluffed out its not that fluffy, its rather thin, however, quite warm. We had a wind storm the other week and the power went out. It was 38 inside.

I slept in this inside in a t shirt and a pair of baselayer pants and was plenty warm. If your a thin person or are elderly, you may require more loft. You will feel your mat. The warmth per weight is amazing- half its very light weight is goose down, which is warmer than duck down.

I tested this sleeping bag outside in my backyard and inside the house for a living room camp-out. It was comfortable in both settings. This sleeping bag was pretty warm and I found myself having to open it.

I’m 5’7 and I still had space lengthwise. I was worried my shoulders would be too broad but that wasn’t a problem. It was easy to get in and out of. The double-sided zipper was easy to zip up and down.

My only struggle fitting the sleeping bag back into it’s carrying bag. I would definitely recommend this to only anyone looking for a good, comfortable sleeping bag.
