20 Best Weather Stripping Adhesive (2022 Updated)

I love the size of this tube. It’s small enough that I don’t waste a lot if I have some leftover but big enough to get the job done. I’m use to using 3m in a large tube and it is good for large jobs but this works as good and is easier to use due to the smaller size tube.

I will be getting me some more of this great product.

I purchased this to re-attach a weather strip on a hatch on my boat. I’ve used this product for 20 years when I was in the automotive repair trade so I know it works. The secret (as in the instructions) is to apply it to both sides and let both get tacky before pressing them together.

If you do this you won’t be disappointed.

The weatherstrip on my old car windshield started coming off and was making quite the noise. I used this to hold it down and so far over 2000km on the highway and it’s holding well

I use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive in many ways. Sticking gaskets in place when assembling an engine, Attaching magnets to the back of a note-pad to put a shopping list on my refrigerator. Sometimes I put a little Super Weatherstrip Adhesive on a screwdriver tip, to keep a screw on it while I start the screw in a hard to get place.

I even use it to make improvised books of computer motherboard manuals when I’m building a new computer. ( I print the pdf, then stack all the pages neatly and put a little weight on them, then evenly apply Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to the left edge of the stack of pages, to act as a binding.

) Note: I hang the edge of the “book” that I’m gluing, over the edge of a counter so the glue doesn’t get on the counter-top.

Amazing stuff: Bought this adhesive to attempt to repair a damaged window seal (small split in two places and a very small hole). With some care and preparation (cleaning & roughening the edges), the product worked wonderfully.

As it’s a similar material to the seal, I’ve been able to carefully rub it back with 800 grit emery paper, for a smooth finish. Wonderful stuff. The only negative is I wish you could buy a smaller tube but for 20, it’s far less than the cost of replacing the seal – which in this instance would mean stripping the door!!.

I bought a replacement grill for my John Deere tractor and it came without the logo and foam padding, so I had to transplant those items from the old grill to the new one. This adhesive worked perfectly.

I did manage to get some on my fingers in the process and it was a bear to get off.

I’ve used 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive before, and this tube was runnier than before both during application and curing leaving small voids and runs in the finished product. Now my weatherstripping is secured, but I have to cleanup afterwards.

This stuff is amazing. Had previously tried several times to glue the rear window in my Mustang convertible with other products but nothing had worked – this stuff did a great job and I’ve had no issues since.

I’ve also found tons of other uses for it including waterproofing soldered connections and sealing the roof on my truck we’re power for the light bar goes through. Even if you don’t need it right now you should get some to put in the tool box!.

Great weatherstrip Adhesive. Did a great job at keeping the weatherstrip adhesive on my vehicle down. Hasn’t come back up since. Great product!

Was a new guy at this location and he proved the way y’all train new people works. He handle everything great. Deff making this my new store.

Just remember to apply the adhesive in a warm temp. And you may want to mask off the area your working and wear gloves

I have a old 1981 Honda CBX1000 that has a plastic airbox with attached rubber inlets going to the carburetors. I used this to glue the two sides of the airbox back together as well as gluing in the rubber outlets to the plastic airbox.

This worked perfect and was extremely strong. I read that it was very messy however I was prepared. I first acted out how I’d apply it to both surfaces and join them together so that I don’t make a mess.

I wore gloves (they were still clean after this process) and I cleaned the surface very well with isopropyl alcohol so I get a good bond. This stuff is very stringy so when you pull away it will come with you like melted cheese.

The trick is to use a “tongue depressor” to pull away any excess when you reach the end of the run, this prevents it from going everywhere and keeps everything clean. I also worked on top of a cardboard box.

It turned out to be easy to use when prepared. Using a tongue depressor to pull away excess and to flatten it where needed is probably the best advice I could give.

This worked great for some exterior window weatherstripping that had come loose on our SUV. The upper right corner was sticking out and causing a whistling sound when driving. I cleaned the paint and back of the rubber weather stripping with some alcohol before applying this to both sides.

Let it sit apart for about 1 minute before pressing together and holding for a couple of minutes. It’s been about 2 months now and it is still sticking. I also used it on the backside of a mirror to hold the mount which had fallen off.

This apparently is much better than the white adhesive the manufacturer had used. 5 stars.

Wife and I are old car people, and when something needs attention we fix it ourselves. The door weatherstrip on her 89 Firebird Formula needed replacing. The new weatherstrip was a still allowing some wind noise, so i bought the 3M Super Weatherstrip adhesive and put down a small bead.

Wind noise is gone! -Thirty years ago, this stuff came only in yellow, and it was informally known as “Elephant boogers”. -The black is a huge improvement because it blends in with the weatherstrip itself and you get a perfect job everytime.

-Get the “Super Weatherstrip Adhesive”, and no just the “Weatherstrip Adhesive”, as there is a huge difference in quality.

Great product….great price. I have used this prod before and it is exceptional. Highly recommended to anyone instl gaskets, upholstery liners or where adhesive is needed…..rubber(solid or foam).

Saw a YouTube video on reattaching loose shoe soles with adhesive; they recommended 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive. I had tried E6000 adhesive previously with mixed results. The 3M adhesive provides incredible adherence, and both shoes now wear perfectly.

Used it on inner and outer door weatherstrip. Been like 2 months, the stuff works. Tip, for straight lines get something flat to hold in place till dry for laser straight look.

works better than the original adhesive, and was very quick to apply. it is starting to come undone already in the corner, i’ll have to try reapplying and clamping down that section better. but 95% of it is still sticking well after just 20 seconds of holding it tight.

it has already outlasted the effectiveness of the original adhesive.

This black sticky substance is like what covers Eddy in Venom. So wear gloves or be EXTREMELY careful. I have this stuff drying on my outer door moulding to my car now. It took 2 minutes to apply it and get some wax paper taped over it to hold it in place.

Then it took 30 minutes to pick the sticky black substance off my finger.

3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is THE product to glue the weatherstripping around the door of your car or truck. Most cars and trucks have the original factory weatherstrip material intended to hold itself in place without any glue, but as the weatherstrip gets about four or more years old, it generally loses some of hold on the door frame.

Eventually the weatherstrip will start to come loose, especially if you brush up against it while getting in or out of the car. Just put a tiny dab of this 3M adhesive on the problem area, wait about a minute, position the weatherstrip where it belongs, close the door, and let it set for an hour or two (overnight is great).

You won’t have any more trouble. I would have given this product the full five stars, except for two minor problems (both of which are related to buying it at Walmart. com not the product itself). 1) Like most modern adhesive products, you need to follow the instructions to get the best results.

For this small tube of adhesive, the instructions are printed on the back of the card the tube comes on, not on the tube itself. The problem is that Walmart. com puts a large sticker on the back of the card — right over the instructions.

It took longer to get enough of the sticker peeled away so I could read the instructions than it did to use the product. 2) The second problem is the Site-to-Store delivery program itself. Shipping delays, and a failure of Walmart.

com to send out the notification when the product is ready, plus miserable performance by the stores on the Site-to-Store program add up to a poor buying experience. Bottom line: This is a good product; it would be a GREAT product if you could just get it in the stores instead of having to order it.

This is a good adhesive for many projects around the home, especially rubber to metal adhesion. I last used it to help secure the rubber suction cups on my ‘reach and grab’ device. I’ve also used it,of course, to reattach the weather-stripping on my truck.

It dries fairly quickly and creates a good bond.

This stuff rocks!! I use it for everything I need to put together that nothing else will adhere to. Even better than JB weld. You just can’t drill and tap this stuff but it will hold forever and the blackish color blends in nice.

Try a tube!! I bought a bunch last time!!.

This is the large tube at a good price. It is name brand and certainly will do what it was designed to do and many more things one can think up to do with it. Very good product. Very good value.

I like that it is black the same as the rubber , not yellow. works good.

I needed to re-attach one of my car door outer weather seals as these days they are stupidly stuck on rather than clipped and only last a few years! I tried a few things but none adhered well enough.

This product, while quite pricey, worked perfectly so was worth it. Amazing stuff, seal is stuck on solid. There’s probably enough to do all four doors if need be. I’m very satisfied with it.

This is the product to use for your automotive weatherstrip installation. Excellent results are achievable by following the directions. It works more or less like contact cement. You put a small bead on both the body and the weatherstripping, then smooth it flat with a tool (I use a popsicle stick or something similar to do this).

You only get one shot, so take your time. Be careful not to order the yellow version of this adhesive, as it may show after installation.

Used this stuff on some rubber molding for my car’s door. I put it on about a month ago, and waited until now to ensure this thing held up before submitting a review. One thing to note is that you have to apply to both surfaces, and wait a few minutes until tacky, before sticking the molding to the door.

Suggest you wear a medical style rubber glove, as the yellow glue is a bit hard to get off the fingers. It wont stick rock hard like super glue, but will be a persistent stickiness on the fingers.

Worked great, needed to glue weather strip around door of car. It has a nice small opening so you don’t put out to much glue. Nice price and fast ship.

One of the best rubber gasket making product I have ever used. My first project was to repair a big rubber gasket on my camper. A mouse chewed a hole thru it, couple hundred dollars to replace it. Well with a little patience, I was able to fill in the hole perfectly.

Wonderful product ! Works great ! Holds up to Florida sunshine and extreme summer heat.

Works well in some places but not as well in others and it gets messy like some runny super glue. Make sure to apply pressure (for at least thirty seconds) on the weatherstripping after applying or this won’t work at all on it.

The yellow is unappealing, wish I would have gotten the black to start so it wouldn’t be AS obvious. Goo Gone works well at removing it if you get some in undesired places. Takes about five minutes to dry if you just let it be, about three if you apply pressure the entire time.

A friend told me about this glue. Several of my wife’s shoe soles came apart after they got wet. I tried all types of glue and they did not work. Put this yellow glue on let it dry overnight; worked fine.

Soles still on. I will glue the rest of her shoes.

Been using this stuff for decades. We used to call it gorilla snot. It’s never failed to stick my weather stripping back on.
