20 Best Weed Killer Patio (2022 Updated)

This is a great product. It works slowly, don’t expect overnight results, but one day you look at your lawn and the weeds just seem to have disappeared. I live in Houston Texas and this is the first year I have used it.

I just reordered a gallon so I will have plenty for next spring, however, at this point, I’m not sure I will need it.

I applied this product on my lawn according to the instructions more than a week ago. Nothing has happened. useless, don’t spend money on this product.

This product did not take care of the grasses I wanted to use it on though it works very well for the grasses it’s designed. Simply my error!

I spent several seasons unsuccessfully using Ortho Weed-B-Gon to eradicate Oxalis (Woodsorrel). Ferti-lome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer was effective with a single application. Be aware Ferti-lome offers the product in various active ingredient concentration.

I augmented the application with Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker Non-Ionic Surfactant. In addition to Oxalis, I am using Ferti-lome Weed-Out to control other broad leaf weeds. The product boasts control of 200 broad leaf weeds.

Applied as directed, the product is very slow acting but seems to be working well in most areas. No visible effect for about 3 or 4 days on chickweed. About 2 weeks required before significant change is visible.

Most effective on chick weed, less effective on dandelions, dollar weed, and others. Still waiting for effect to be visible on all others after about 2 weeks. Product coverage appears to be less than advertised.

With all that said, it seems to be better than anything I have tried before.

Works great! The concentrate is the better buy and way to go. I mix it with distilled water in the ferti-lome spray bottle. It kills the clover and not the grass!

I am quite satisfied so far. After 3+ years of infestation and pulling and digging to get rid of the sedge I am starting to see results. I mowed 2 days ago, then we had a day of showers (I thought this might help the grass from being damaged), so I sprayed this directly onto my nutsedgey lawn to test/ spot treat the nutsedge.

The sedge is already golden-brown and dying while my bluegrass/fescue is still thriving. No damage even though I sprayed on a warm morning, the sunny high reached 88 degrees, and it is late in the season (early August).

They say it is better to spray in early spring. I hope I don’t have to do another round of treatment like most folks review this product, but I expect I will have to since it is so late in the season and we’ve been infested for years.

If spraying again means a future of no sedgy lawn, I am hooked and it is worth it. Could have been a bit cheaper, come in a larger bottle, or even a trigger that I don’t have to manually spray over and over again (my wrist hurts and I only sprayed a small section 2 feet by 10 feet).

I tried another product which advertises effective in killing nutsedge with results that it appeared to fertilize the nutsedge and other weeds it said it would kill. I tried ORTHO Nutsedge killer and it worked the first time with dying nutsedge within 24 hours! Within a week the active nutsedge was gone.

This hand sprayer bottle is great for outcropping of nutsedge, but not effective for large areas.

This product works fantastic on Creeping Charlie, need to be liberal in application soaking the leaves well. May need another application depending on the severity of the infestation. But if applied right leaves will turn black as the weed dies in 1-2 days! Highly recommended to take back your lawn from this ferocious weed!! Safe for wildlife and pets, skip the chemical products and get this! The earth will thank you!.

I liked the two options for the spray. Stream or wide spray. I did not like that it seemed to leak while I sprayed, even with garden gloves on. I took off gloves, washed hands, ran hand under water, as directed, when spray came in contact with skin.

I’ve used Bonide before. The product works. This method of use, the battery-operated sprayer, did not. I was extremely disappointed. After trying to get the sprayer to work, after watching it spit and spurt, after soaking my glove, I gave up.

I took what remained of the weed killer, put it in my pump sprayer, and said to myself, “never again. “.

I’ve used other weed and grass killer products that gets rid of unwanted grass and weeds but never yet had I found a product that kills down to the root as advertised. Spectracide® Weed & Grass Killer Concentrate2 does as advertised.

I did a spot check in my flower beds to get ready for next spring and wow it did a great job. The unwanted grass and weeds were yellowing after a few hours and brown by the next day! Being that the solution was concentrated and there was an AccuMeasure system with an easy-to-use cap, it took the hassle out of measuring and mixing the concentrate formula; so I was able to get just enough to try it out in a small area.

In my next use I tried it on a larger area and got the same results. I also love that I still have a lot of formula left over even after I treated my driveway, walkways, and sidewalk. I’m overly pleased with this product and have already recommended it to family and friends.

I was provided a bottle of the Spectracide Weed and Grass killer concentrate to try and provide my thoughts. I have a lot of creeping charlie that has taken over my backyard. Literally it exploded from a 1/4 of my back yard to almost the entire yard this summer, from 1 week to the next.

We have had a drought for a while and then had a lot of rain. By the time we were able to get into the backyard, the creeping had crept up and killed almost any and all grass and made it either creeping charlie heave or bare dirt spaces with creeping charlie nearby.

I felt this would be a perfect opportunity to try and provide my thoughts. I cannot attest to grass, and I didn’t have grass yet to kill. But, we put this into the sprayer, did what we needed to make this sprayable and went to town.

Spraying the areas, away from the dog potty zone and waited. It was a nice sunny day, low to mid 80’s and no rain in sight. Waited. Later that day, I felt like it looked like a lot of the charlie had died.

But, thought it might be my imagination. Waited next couple of days, watching. Noticing more and more browning and death to the creeping charlie. Mind you, I had one application at this point, and find that the first past, killed quite a bit of the charlie.

I feel with another couple of passes of the Specracide, I might win this season’s war of the creeping charlie. I liked this, fairly easy to use, appeared to start killing pretty quickly. I would be happy to try more to see I this turf war can be won by us and not the creeping charlie.

I fight a constant battle with my driveway. It’s a nice long stone driveway — however grass always seems to want to grow in it. I buy quite a bit of weed killer to spray in the driveway to keep the grass under control and it gets expensive and the premixed sprayers are not very efficient.

This Weed and Grass Killer Concentrate has helped on numerous fronts. 1) I was able to buy it online. Since it’s concentrate, the container isn’t very large (which is good!). It was shipped in a reasonably small box and was wrapped in a sealed bag inside.

This is convenient, since I didn’t really know what to expect with shipping something like this. 2) It has clear instructions, measuring cap and is easy to use. I got this to mix myself in a larger sprayer — worked like a charm.

3) It’s more cost effective than some of the other pre-mixed + sprayer container options I was trying. Once I filled up the sprayer with the weed and grass killer, I went out and sprayed my lawn more effectively than past use with the other sprayers, finished in less than 1/2 the time and then waited.

I saw clear results of dying grass within a day. Do I recommend? Yes — if you want a grass killer concentrate, then give this one a try.

Price is a little high compared to other similar products. The nice thing is there are no grazing restrictions. Not sure how well it kills the weeds yet as I just sprayed a few days ago and it can take 14 days or more to kill weeds.

Dont let cost of the bottle sway you. Look at mixing ratio. it costs a fraction per acre compared to other effective products. GREAT for livestock pastures. Kills FIREWEED and other weeds without killing grass.

Most herbicides will NOT kill fireweed effectively. not even Roundup. This has the ingredient(s) that is the most effective and it is considerably cheaper per acre than some of the other products that kill fireweed and other pasture weeds.

Be sure to read label especially if you have legumes in your pasture grass that you dont want to kill.

Manure from pastures sprayed with Grazon cannot be composted. Trust me, I was composting horse manure for friends and family and it has ruined our gardens. Dow clearly states not to compost on their label.

I was told it was safe for horses to eat, so I assumed it was safe. If you’re not going to use manure out of your pastures it work great. But you need to know it will stay in your pasture for up to five years.

This is good weed and grass killer concentrate. I like buying concentrate because you don’t pay as much for the water that comes in the bottle. This Spectracide concentrate worked better than I thought too.

I used less than the recommended amount (I mixed 6oz of Spectracide with 1 gallon of water) and it annihilated all the unwanted grass and weeds I had around my raised flower beds and sidewalks. I could see results in about 8 hours, but the grass was brown and completely dead within 24 hours (I was impressed with how hard and fast it worked).

I usually use Round Up, but I will continue to use this Spectracide because it is cheaper to buy than Round Up, and it works just as good.

For those that say this product does not work i say read and FOLLOW the instructions. I found that if you apply this product mixed 1. 5 to 1 and spray it in the late evening because plants take up moisture through their leaves at night and it cuts the kill time down to half.

I use this stuff on Goat heads and it kills them dead. It kills everything for a price that does not break the bank.

I love it. We had a bunch of trees pushed up & 800’ of ditch dug with the dirt making a levy. The initial spray, all that “very deep hard brush” & grass is still dead. What I go & spray about every 3 weeks is all that underneath that we can’t see growing through that levy of dirt.

The front ditch I’ve only sprayed 2x & it is 100% clear & water running. Those hard wood trash trees, I call gum ball, they grow anywhere a seed lands & the seeds are round looking solid green berry type about the size of “lemon drops”, roundup concentrate doesn’t even turn the leaves yellow & this RM43 kills it!! I agreed to let my mom buy me a thing of concentrate round up cause she swears by it, I put the exact amount of ounces for my 2 gallon sprayer.

One week later, our hard brush & thick weed grass actually grew instead of dying. I tried it once more with 14 oz to 2 gallons. Barely turned hard brush yellow, did kill little grass. I went & purchased our 2nd gallon of RM43 (I would buy the 2 1/2 gallon if it had a pump attachment to pump out the ounces you need cause I’m partially disabled & can not lift, pour & not waste out of that 2 1/2 gallon), made a total of 4 gallons, sprayed all 800’ of ditch, those trash trees that still have berry seeds buried in the ground, poison ivy, poison oak, weeds & thick brush along the back fence we are trying to cut.

Less than a week a later we went back out to the property & everything dead. Went out day before yesterday & still dead, no new things popping up yet. I don’t care what it is, nothing kills 100% to never ever grow back unless you pour full strength peroxide, bleach or some other haz mat chemical that is carried by 18 wheelers.

That will kill deep into the ground for years. Naturally, companies can not make chemicals that strong for general public use. This is just common sense.

I maintain 10 desert acres. The way out of weed takeover by July and I mean farm-like sections of weeds, is to pre emerge yearly! I have to be selective around vegetation and the house directly, but for the furthest areas around my property, I use an atv sprayer.

The first year preemerging, we got surflan southern weed killer, the second year we got TVC. I was worried about the TVC and was looking for something as effective but not as devastating. I saw a video for the RM43 and got it! It seems to have worked great and I like how it kills existing weeds as well! None of the other preemergants did that! I was even still spraying weeds with the leftover mix out of a sprayer.

It left NO Green!! I use Caseron for in and around vegetation and good ol picking them everywhere else every year. Unless I find something as good or better and less expensive, I’ll be buying the RM43 from here on out!.

We have 4 homes spread out over several acres of family property. I keep about 12 acres of the property mowed and cleared. That includes weed eating around each home, several outbuildings, and a very wide, long drainage ditch.

It has become too much for me over the last couple years, so we have using herbicide in place of most of the weed eating. I mixed this product at a rate of 2 quarts in a 25 gallon sprayer. We sprayed a little over 125 gallons of mix over 2 days.

It took about 4 days before we started noticing any effect, but within a week it was obviously working well. Now 2 weeks later the RM43 has killed everywhere we sprayed. As noted in the instructions, it will get into the root system and spread to surrounding plants whether you want it to or not.

Not a big deal to me but it might be to others. Don’t use it in areas you don’t want everything dead. It kills at least twice as much as you intend it to. I think the prices are ridiculous but if it lasts a full year, it will be worth it.

This is the best weed preventer I have found. Ive used Caseron for years and it truly is the best product Ive ever tried. Highly recommend. Get it down Before weeds start to show. Like early March. Then enjoy a year free of weeds.

We have used this for weed control over the last 20 years. We never have complaints with this product.

I buy this product every fall and love that there are very few weeds on my acre property come spring. A great help!!

I sprayed, and sprayed all my unwanted weeds and 48 hours later they look just as healthy as if I sprayed them with plant food! There was no wind. Temperature was a warm 75 degrees. Completely saturated.

And nothing happened. No difference. Paid a small fortune for this stuff. Said money back guaranteed with receipt but to my usual luck I tossed it out. Buy again? NO WAY!!!.

I bought this product for my gravel RV parking area (as is says on the label it is good for. ) I followed all instructions, have had no rain, and the daytime temps have been in the 70s and 80s since using.

I noticed the area sprayed (not heavily covered in weeds, just a few here and there peaking through the rock gravel) had not reacted to my first application. So I applied again spraying each weed liberally yesterday.

To my surprise today, the weeds really don’t look like they have been sprayed. In years past I always just bought the regular Roundup grass and weed killer and it started killing the sprayed weeds within a day.

I thought this product would not only kill the weeds, but also keep them from growing in the future. This is hilarious, because they won’t even kill the few weeds that are growing now. What a waste of money! I should have just bought the regular Roundup that costs less.

I feel duped!!! Don’t buy this product!!.

From a first-time user: The instructions are written so small we cannot read them with reading glasses. I am here trying to see if the instructions are online but have not found them yet. If I can find written instructions that can be read (or even an instructional video) I my rating may increase.

For now, however, I am disappointed in the instructions. Even with a lighted magnifying glass they are difficult to follow. Also, the instructions have small illustrations for an “H” style and a “ML” style and an “O” style.

The “ML” style and “O” style are so similar we can’t tell the difference. Ours has a wand that curves at the end, so we are inclined to think it is an “O” style. it would be very helpful if the style that is in the box is prominently written on the outside of the box.

With all the “IMPORTANT” and “HAZARD” labels in the instructions, it would be most helpful to have them available online so we can read bigger print.

I bought this concentrate for poison ivy, weeds, grass, and whatever to make it easier to mow around a shed and other obstacles, including my A/C unit on a slab, the gas meter and trash bins, and I thought maybe for small bush stumps, since that’s mentioned on the bottle, but mostly for poison ivy under the shed and around the house.

I mixed it by the directions (which are very hard to figure out): 2x cap fulls to the 3-line (plus a little more for extra strength) into 1 gallon of water. First, I poured the concentrate, 1 cap full at a time, into the 1-gallon pump sprayer I bought for it, then added the water to mix it up, 4 cups at a time, 4 times (16 cups = 1 gallon).

I sprayed it on poison ivy, weeds, grass and whatever, and I spayed it on heavily. I spayed it heavily on the poison ivy leaves and grass blades, down the stems and shafts, through the growth with the wand, and into the ground with the sprayer tip to be sure to get great coverage.

Everything was dry and it did not rain that day, nor the next until late, so the product was not further diluted or interfered with by rain, and it was quite warm that day. It’s supposed to be rainproof in 30 minutes, so this should have been plenty of time.

The product has done absolutely nothing to the poison ivy, weeds, grass, or anything else, not even any wilting in 3 days, especially not the poison ivy, which is what I really bought it for. I could not have given the product more of a chance to work through the effort exerted and procedure I used to spray it and cover the targets.

I worked in small sections. After spraying the poison ivy leaves and other stuff heavily, I pushed and pulled the wand in and out of the growth while continually spaying the section, moving it down and then soaking the roots, then sprayed the leaves again, and then moved on to another small section.

I want my money back. This stuff DOES NOT WORK!!!.

I purchased this product on 5/13/22. I have a spine problem so I had to hire a yard man to come out and spray my beds. The fisrt visit he charged me $40. I watched as he sprayed well the entire area.

On the bottle is stated: visible results in 3 hours. I went outside in 3 hours and nothing! No results whatsoever. I went back in 6 hours. and Nothing. I continued looking for a couple of days to no avail.

It did not kill any grass or even the tiny weeds that were visible. I called the company after several days, and the customer service rep checked and returned to the phone stating it might take up to 2 weeks total.

I waited longer and then had the yard man come back and respray to no avail!. This time he charged me $60. During that time it was very hot, dry weather, and the weeds should have died by then. I saw a tv ad yesterday for this product which stated, GUARANTEED RESULTS OR YOUR MONEY FULLY REFUNDED.

! I have now spent $100 to spray these few weeds and grass + a total of $17. 17 for the spray, making it a total of$117. 11. Today it has been 2 wseeks adn 1 day, since he first sprayed with no results!.

We have a small farm with a very long, and large, gravel driveway. We use this once a year to control grasses and weeds that grow in the gravel driveway as well as controlling grasses around our barn, under our trees, and on the sidewalks.

This also knocked out poison ivy in a few spots if applied thick enough. Combined with a Stihl backpack sprayer, we couldn’t be happier. For mixing, add water slowly as others have suggested. It will foam with fast water flow and can overspill if not careful.

When applying, we walk backwards and spray in front of us to prevent walking through the chemical. One bottle/container covers everything we need. We’ve applied annually for the last three years and have noticed less and less return growth.

Results are noticed in a few days.

I sprayed diluted roundup solution around the trunk of my oak, green ash trees and roses to remove weeds growing in this area (also called area inside the drip line). The herbicide effectively killed all the weeds in this area: the weeds dried up and turned to a beige color.

Unfortunately, the chemical also caused some damage to the oak, green ash and roses: their leaves became twisted and leaf growth was stunted. The upper part of some rose trunks died as well. It was indeed noted on Google that these chemicals can damage the roots of plants or trees that have shallow roots.

It is a great product for killing weeds. Just be aware about not to apply directly around or too close to trees. I think such a warning on the label would be very helpful to users.

I have used Roundup on my property for about the last 5 years. I like the product but there are major issues with material. When I bought my first container with a sprayer, it worked very well. I used it immediately after purchasing it from Home Depot.

The next year I still had the spray container, so I purchased the refill container and the material worked fine. I also needed more material and I bought the super concentrate so that I could mix my own material At the end of the summer I had used only half of the material, and so I kept the spray container with the product in it in my garage over the winter.

My garage doesn’t freeze, since it is attached to the house. The next spring, this year 2021, when I tried to use the sprayer, it didn’t work. I opened the container and found that the product had jelly lumps in it and therefore they were clogging the fine openings in the sprayer.

I cleaned the sprayer and screened the product. When I sprayed it on the walkway weeds nothing happened. The material had lost its potency. I read the labels on the containers carefully and found no mention of self life and also proper conditions for storage of the material.

So I bought another container of Roundup with a sprayer on it. The newly purchased product worked wonderfully. However, I needed more, so I made a new mixture from the Super Concentrate that I had purchased two years earlier.

When I used it, it did not work at all. So there is a self life to the super concentrate. That really troubled me, because the Super Concentrate cost about $73. 00 when I purchased it. So my questions are twofold: 1.

Why is there no statement on the containers that state there is a self life associated with the product; and 2. Why is there no expiration date printed on the container. This is really a lack of sensitivity to the residential customer.

I finally wet on the web and read a lot of reviews. The jelly effect isw known and posted on various sites, but the RoundUp website does not give one proper storage conditions. Further reading lead me to a statement several layers deep into the RoundUp website that the shelf life is 4 years.

That is a meaningless statement, since they do not give you the storage conditions used to develop that number. When a residential customer buys the product from a retail store, there is no indication as to how old the product is.

And for the residential user, that has stored the material along with other gardening materials, there is no way of knowing the effectiveness of this product. The labeling and instructions really need to be vastly improved.

As a final note, I have read many of the reviews posted here. People who use the product when it is potent, get excellent results. But other individuals present information that indicates that they have product that is past its shelf life and found that it does not work.

As a result the distribution in ratings is bimodal.

On line transaction was fine, and the product is fine. The problem was with the delivery. Apparently the gallons (2 single gallon) leaked in the shipping box, so the shipper placed the ruined box and the gallons in a large plastic bag closing it with a large Rubber Band (what a joke).

The package was delivered a day after I had a Bladder Procedure, so I could not lift the package. My wife took it to the garage for me to check it later. When I was able to deal with it I notice the gallons on it’s side in the ruined box.

There was more leakage. I right sided the gallons and discarded the box and the plastic. I do not know how much of the Fluid leaked. AS of today 12/29/21 I have 3 different Walmart phone number directing me to different DEPT.

The delivery in the order was great. But the product did not work as advertised followed you directions oversprayed the weeds and then shot them directly. They’re still there summer brown at the point of contact however it did not kill the weed.

Not happy with this product would not buy it again.

I love this stuff. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and doesn’t harm the environment or the bees we have. Fantastic! We won’t use anything else and I have already told my parents about this, as they’re gardening/landscape enthusiasts, too!.

I use a jam jar marked with a sharpie pen to measure the correct amount of concentrated Weedkiller into a full watering can (dedicated to weed killing). It Dsis so quick and simple to fill watering can, measure the dose and spray/pour on the driveway weeds.

This does a great job. A really cost effective way to buy Weedkiller. I reckon two doses from this bottle equal a whole spray bottle that is already made up. I was very impressed how well this works on my block paving.

At first it did not appear to have any affect on the weeds, so much so I thought it could have been fake but after a long time, 4 weeks & multiple applications, it did show signs it was working. Alternative product showed signs of working almost immediately, same day, which is what I’m comparing it against.

It does work, was not fake, but I thought expensive compared to how an alternative product worked. Easy to use in the spray bottle.

Great value weedkiller. Takes it’s time but weeds definitely die. Just spray them and even after a rain shower after spraying my weeds still died. Takes around 3-4 days. I dont bother buying other brands.

Unable to bend for normal weeding have mesh and wood chips down but a few weeds manage to get through.

It appears to be as effective as the slightly stronger(50%) Roundup I had been using for the same purposes.

Why pay for the price for the Round Up name, when the Remuda get the job done too.
