20 Best Weight Loss Dvds (2022 Updated)

This is more of an exercise video with yoga terms. I purchased it because I was looking for a yoga workout that made me work and sweat with difficult poses or holding a pose for a long period. This is a video that I will probably give away or it will live in the drawer.

I don’t usually write a negative review because I know people work hard on these things. I just want to make sure that if someone is looking for a yoga video they are not mislead. I feel a different purchase would be better.

during the summer it’s too hot to go outside and do any kind of exercise, even walking. So I purchased this DVD to do some exercise at home. I have started with 5 minute warm up 20 minute level 1 yoga and cool down 5 min.

total of 30 minutes. I have been stuck with the same weight for 6 months and by doing this video once every day I have lost 2 lbs in one week of doing it. I’m happy and it has motivated me to keep doing it, 30 minutes then I’m done for the day.

It gets easier the more you do it first week it was hard since it was my first time doing yoga. Even if you can’t do some of the work outs you will still sweat and feel sore the first days. Great work out will recommend to anyone even for some of us who have never done yoga.

Yoga: Nice work out, but not balanced. lots of focus on just using your arm muscles. Very basic yoga. It says 6 week workout, but you’d be doing the same 20-45 minutes 5-6 times a week (that’s what it recommends).

DVD is a good supplement though to use some days of the week to add variation to an exercise routine. Have not used the Boot Camp. ordered just for the yoga part.

This is the very first workout I ever purchased. Jillian Michaels was a huge superstar in the fitness world and I took the plunge, quite blindly mind you. There were, I believe, three workouts to choose from, so I started “small” and went with the least intimidating, the very first option.

Within 5 minutes, I was out of breath and wanted to give up, Jillian yelled at me from the tv that “bigger people than me can do 20 jumping jacks, DON’T STOP NOW”, ugh, okay fine, if 200lb people can do it, surely my flabby self can do a few more.

It went like that the entire 30-45 minutes, she yells at me and I cuss at her and push through it. Girl, when I tell you at the end of that video I was dead, I was dead on the floor, right in my living room.

My legs were jello, my arms were noodles and my “core” trembled when I tried to pull myself up. I was sore for days, but kept going back for more. The workouts aren’t complicated, you don’t’ need equipment to do them and you don’t have to go to the gym where people can see my struggling, out of breath, red in the face self trying to lose some lbs.

I still do this tape from time to time and it still kills me every single workout.

The workouts on 30 Day Shred are easier than Ripped in 30 and 6 Week Six-Pack. This just gives me alternate workouts for the days I feel like switching up my routine. The program is dated but still offers a great workout.

Not counting the warm-ups, the routines can be completed in twenty minutes. The three sessions of the 3-2-1 interval system not only get the heart rate up but also help break up the routine. The DVD does not allow you to skip the intro to get straight to the workouts, so waiting several minutes for that to pass each time the DVD is started gets rather annoying.

If you want a more challenging workout, I would recommend Ripped in 30 or 6 Week Six-Pack. 30 Day Shred is a better choice for beginners.

I really like Jillian Michaels and appreciate her at home workouts. During the times in my life where I’ve wanted to work out at home (generally after having a baby) it’s nice to have the option of something effective that I can do in tandem with watching the baby.

I find her workouts easy to follow and effective as well. She is motivating and enjoyable to watch. I dont find her “annoying” like other workout gurus. 30 day shred is always on my short list for an at-home workout routine.

This dvd is a good length at 51 minutes and you can go to the menu and choose what you want to do: cardio section, prep and mat (floor) exercises, or the full program. I chose to do the cardio section first which is the shorter of the two programs (it was around 15-20 minutes).

It was not easy, but the instructor is very good. She doesn’t move too fast. The explanations are really nice with great examples as to how the movements should look and feel (i. e like you’re in cement, balancing a teacup on your knee, patting yourself on the back for a job well done, etc#.

Being completely out of shape, I still got through the whole cardio round with a lot of sweating, nausea, and breaks involved. I tried the mat work #thinking it would be easier), but it was just too much after the first round.

You’ll do things similar to bicycle work, leg lifts, and more. It’s the longer workout being about 25-30 minutes. After day one, I am sore and yet my abs feel tight. If you keep up with this video you will surely get results in a good amount of time.

My doctor recommended I start pilates to strengthen my core due to sciatica and a herniated disc in my back. This instructor is obviously very good at this, but goes really slow to show the form and also the explanation of the exercise is done in the background so it makes it easy to understand.

This workout is pretty intense for a beginner but I guess it should be. Definitely going to work up a good sweat and be sore the next day. So far I really like it, although some of the moves are very advanced for me, but in time and practice I will build more flexibility and core strength.

Definitely recommend. The total workout time is about 47 mins.

This was my 1st time trying pilates and I’ve never done yoga. I am not a flexible person and have problems with chronic joint pain. The DVD was great, I did work up a sweat and burned close to 400 calories without the impact of other workouts.

I admit that I could not do each move in its fullness, but I did try. There were some moves that exacerbated my joint pain, due to the stretching, and I was sore afterwards. I am confident that the more I do this workout, the bettter my body will feel.

I do feel it was a good workout. The DVD is very easy to follow.

I first saw this on Netflix, then Netflix got rid of its fitness section so I found it on dvd. I have horrible fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy pain and exercise is so difficult to do even though I’m young.

I found this video so helpful, instructor Ellen Barrett explains it at easy to understand and you decide whether to do beginner level, medium, or most difficult level for yourself and see all 3 people doing the workout at same time, so nice! All other exercise and yoga/pilates dvds are way too intense to do unless you are already super fit, this one is a definite if you have disabilities or are super active, wonderful dvd!.

I tried this on Netflix, then got rid of Netflix and I really missed it. You really can pick your level, just doing what you can and still get in good stretching and a workout. This is not high impact or intense cardio.

No super fast paces or crazy positions. You will not want to hurt the instructor by the end of the video! You will feel like you’ve worked out and you can do it again. Improve self esteem and health in one shot.

This is a great simple dvd to follow and very, very relaxing. Ellen Barret is a great instructor and gives a good workout. I have several pilates by her including the very hard to find crunch:slimdown pilates which is Super! She does not disaptt and is very energetic and soothing.

I’ve been using this walk video off and on for many years. I manage to hang in with the group through the 45 minutes of vigorous walk, kicks, knee lifts, and weights. When I watch what I eat as well, I loose weight, -about a lb.

each week. In the last five weeks I have been consistent and I’ve lost 5 lbs. and I can see the difference. The weights are toning me up as well. I ordered two new dvd’s to share with my family and friends, also I wanted to make sure I had another available just in case something happened to mine.

Years previous I ordered xtras and gave them to members of the family. I’ve tried a few other walk videos with Leslie but this is my favorite one. Almost anyone can do it, and it is a simple, straight forward workout.

This one is not very available for purchase as it is one of the older videos.

I did enjoy Leslie Sansone’s Walk-at-Home workouts On Demand, and I was furious when Verizon pulled the plug on them, changing their On Demand Exercise format (but that’s another issue). So I decided to order one of her DVDs, based on online reviews.

This one did not disappoint me! I love the option to do 1,2, or 3 miles. The pace is much more brisk than the ones that were available On Demand, and that’s actually good for me. I love the segments with weights.

Overall, it’s perfect for the days when I can’t or don’t feel like get getting to the gym. At least I know I’ve gotten a bit of a workout. I even bought this for my 77 yr old mother, though I made her promise that she would take it very slow and not even do a whole mile until/unless she felt truly up to it.

She hopes to use it when she can’t get to Silver Sneakers when the weather is bad.

I love Leslie’s walk DVDs and I have several but this has become my favorite. I had previously gotten some walking weights from Walmart and I use them with this DVD. I have lost 5lbs thus far using this walk.

Its a very upbeat and fast walk I started off doing just the 3 Miles but now because I love so much I do it twice a day. Two of the three walks in the morning and Two of the three walks in the evening.

The weight lifting being added has really worked my arms If you add the hand weights you are adding 2 to 4 lbs to your body weight and more weight burns more calories. Just a win win.

I use this exercise dvd a lot. Love Leslies energy and positivity. She is very upbeat and with each of the miles she keeps me motivated. Sometimes I do two, three or all five miles depending on my schedule for the day.

I feel this dvd is a very good value and the quality is also good.

I first saw one of Leslie Sansone’s walking routine’s on an On Demand fitness channel. I thought it would be just walking and couldn’t imagine how it would keep my interest for a mile. It turned out to be more than walking aound my living room, but the steps were basic and there were arm movements, too.

The mile went by quickly, felt good and Leslie made it enjoyable. I was hooked, but my cable company discontinued it. So I bought the 5 Day Slim Down DVD. This DVD is great and so is Leslie Sansone. I am not the gym type.

I love to walk at night, but climate and other factors don’t always allow for it. This DVD is perfect for me. Each mile takes between 12 and 15 minutes and has it’s own focus – arms, legs, etc. I can squeeze in a mile when pressed for time or do a few at a time and work up a sweat.

I hate to sweat, but hey, it’s good for me. I’ve even done the classic mile at lunch time at work and had a co-worker join me, it was fun and not sweaty. Anyway, there is no confusing, fancy foot work.

It is easy to follow along and it gets your whole body moving. Leslie is an excellent instructor and motivating without being annoying. The music blends into the background and really just sets the pace, so it should be tolerable for most folks.

My 77 year old mom is pretty active, but I doubt she’d be able to keep her balance while doing some of the moves on this DVD or even keep up with most of the pace. Aside from her generation, I think anyone looking to exercise in the comfort of their own home without buying expensive equipment should try this DVD.

If you can get up and move, you can do this and you’ll probably enjoy it as much as I do! Hey, for $9 it’s worth a shot. Good luck.

I live this video. You can pick and choose your miles. You can do a warm up with a classic walk and cool down. There are basically 5 miles to choose from. I would recommend this as a start off video.

Good to start off slowing and work you way thru. It has a nice segment on power breakfast and she really talks to you about starting your journey to good health.

I love most of Denise Austin’s instructional/exercise videos, they are entertaining and helpful.

For several years I have been using Denise’s workout videos. Denise knows exactly what a woman needs to do in order to hit the trouble areas of our bodies. I have tried other instructor videos, but none have ever compared to Denise Austin.

In the past, I was able to execerise first thing in morning when she was on Lifetime TV, but I have to resort to her videos in order to continue. The Burn Fat Fast pace takes a few trys to keep up, but it is well worth the effort.

For the last couple of weeks of trying out the product, I have still yet to finish the intense program, but with time like the rest of her workouts, I will complete the exercise. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants fast results.

Denise Austin video will help you achieve those results.

Awesome, awesome video! I have attended Ashley’s yoga retreats and her DVD is just like in person. Yoga is all about your own practice and this dvd can be used by advanced yogi’s or beginners. She shows alternate poses and stresses the importance of following your own body.

Highly recommend!.

Just getting into yoga, I think this DVD is wonderful. The instructor does an excellent job of explaining poses and the breathing that needs to go along with it. I did not feel lost at all. As a result, I was able to feel the stretches and the next day my ab muscle felt sore.

but the good sore not overly extended. I would recommend this yoga dvd to any yoga fitness level.

This dvd was very hard. It is amazing though but ment for experience yoga people only. I boughtthis item cuz I wanted to start doing yoga. I still am gonna kept it cuz hopefully I one day be at her level.

After I had my first child my body was all sorts of out of whack and I was looking for something that I could do at home. While I had taken some yoga classes in college and was an outdoors enthusiast who had participated and tried all manner of sporting activities, I was intimidated by yoga classes here on Maui, particularly with my postpartum body.

This DVD helped to re-introduce me to yoga and regain some level of form and balance through calm instruction. After gaining the ability to flow the yoga sequence I was ready to take on a formal yoga class.

I lost 50 pounds using this 2 times a day 3 days a week until I got stronger and increased usage. It’s easy to follow and has progressive classes to follow as you learn. So it’s 3 classes in 1! This is a reasonably priced product and I highly recommend it as a success story and 200 hr RYT yoga teacher.

The title is misleading. a more accurate title would be “deep stretches to calm your mind”. The only way you’ll loose weight with this program is because you aren’t eating while you’re doing it. It doesn’t even have the simple standing poses, like tree pose, which uses leg and core abdominal muscles.

I would not recommend it. Waste of money.

Colleen Saidman is a wonderful teacher! Her voice is calming and, if you want, you can play all 3 practices simultaneously so there’s no hopping up and down to change to each program. Colleen takes us through a series of poses I find healing and she gently stretches us and she slowly eases us into each pose with her instruction, which I love so we can place our bodies into the right posture.

Colleen has included an ab program at the end and I’ve always said no to these because I have neck pain, but I’ve found myself joining in and the more I practice yoga, the better my neck feels. I highly recommend Coleen Saidman’s Yoga for Weight Loss.

I previously purchased Rodney Yee’s & Colleen Saidman’s beginner video and wanted something more challenging now that I feel I’ve outgrown it. There are three different workouts on this video and I complete all three at once.

It’s faster paced and I like that. It’s very doable for this 58 year old and I feel a difference in my body. I feel it’s meant for a female or someone who has not had much experience with yoga. I truly love it and it challenges me! Chamielou.

first of all I am by no means an expert however I love this instructor. she gives very easy to follow instructions. Her voice is pleasant and calming. There are three 20 minute sections which can either be done all at once or individually.

Even for a beginner I think this was a great way to start the day and I find myself defaulting back to this one when ever I get frustrated with other videos or workouts. Its very calming, relaxing and gently energizing.

Great workout- strengthening, aerobic and not too fast. I’m retired and although my kicks aren’t high I’ll get there

Really enjoy this workout, not hard on the knees. has a lot of kicking, and squating, feels great. I can get through this whole workout without wanting to quit. I havent worked out for years, and I’m over 50, this is the perfect workout for me.

This is an excellent workout! One of my favorites, and I have a lot of workout dvds! You will definitely see results with this one!

This is a fantastic yoga dvd! I love the fact that it has 4 levels so you can easily progress at your own pace. The brief intro is helpful and then you can pick your level. The music isn’t intrusive and the dvd not too chatty.

only what you need to do for each posture. (I haven’t done this regularly lately, due to broken dvd player but now that it is fixed, will start doing again. ) When I did it regularly, I felt much better.

I have a lot of stiffness due to fibromyalgia/aging/not exercising like I used to. I will combine this with walking (in nice weather) to get myself in better shape once again. Tip: I do use an exercise mat that is thicker than a regular yoga mat and provides more cushioning.

It is well worth the $ and great for limbering up and making you feel better over-all.

This DVD provides an excellent yoga practice. It’s 45 minutes long and different students provide different levels of modifications. It’s good for beginners to more advanced students. I felt like this really toned my whole body.

There was excellent cuing. The whole DVD is really good. I highly recommend.

I was taking an exercise class plus a yoga class for senior citizens. I fell, so I now must do it at home. I am able to do this but I must be standing by a chair, Plus seniors have a hard time getting up from the floor.

So I modify it so that I am able to do the entire class. I absolutely love yoga. I fell during the exercise class a really freak accident. I fell backward and knocked myself out. I had a concussion and a very large bump on the back of my head.

But after I got the DVD’s I am back doing the yoga.

I’ve done yoga for a few years and I like this sequence. However, a novice would see yoga for weight loss and think this is designed for someone who is heavier and therefore requires more modified positions.

This DVD cannot modify positions the way a larger or abnormally shaped body needs to be so it takes a little tweaking to figure out modifications if you’re new.

It’s better than most yoga DVD’s, but not as good as Ms. Deason’s other DVD, YOGA FOR WEIGHT LOSS. I like it very much because the programs are more workable for daily use.

Nice structure to presentation material. I like it that Breathing was in a separate section. Wish that a beginner level section (like Breathing Basics 101) was included. it is very key to yoga and weight loss.

Wish there were more routines.

Although I myself have not tried her DVDs yet, my daughter has been faithfully using the program. She has done cardio kickboxing daily. It is very hard at first, so expect that you may not last more than a few minutes.

My daughter’s results in 4 days were unbelievably awesome! Her inches dropped and she appears to have lost weight, even though she weighs the same. So toning does make a difference in your appearance.

Also, her muscles firmed up quite a bit in that short amount of time. Used faithfully, this DVD set will work wonders on your body. It is just like being on the tv show “Biggest Loser”. You will get the same results she gave those contestants.

You think ’30-Day Shred’ is tough? Well then, give THIS workout a try! IT IS ROUGH! To say that it’s FAST-PACED would be an understatement! Jillian is calm now compared to when she put out THIS workout (2005)! Think Jillian – highly caffeinated – now try to keep up! Wow! I just got it last Friday, so I’ve watched all the workouts, but have only done ‘Cardio Kickbox’ so far.

OMG! I did it yesterday and my shoulders are ON FIRE today! Thanks, Jillian! You are THE woman!.

Jillian Michaels is my workout hero! last summer i was in the best shape i have ever been in because i used her book “Making the cut” and it kicked my butt and i loved it. this summer im using these DVD’s and so far it’s amazing.

right when i start to think about taking a quick breather she starts yelling at us to keep it going, dont stop now! and its at the right time. im feeling better already, more energy and starting to see some results, i love it! i would recommend these DVD’s and ANY other Jillian Michaels workout anything to ANYBODY! it’s a great buy!.

I have always liked working out with Denise Austin. This DVD is a well rounded workout. I love it! This is one thing that I am not impressed with, the power band. This is a bonus item with the dvd. It is required for the workout.

The band is cheap and sticks together. You can get a resistant band at a local store for about $5. 00 to $8. 00 that will work just as good. All in all this is a great workout!.

I loved this product because the exercises are easy to do for the average person but at the same time challenging enough to give you results. Denise Austin encourages you and makes you want to continue exercising.

This DVD includes a cardio exercise to do three times a week and a strength training segment to do the other two days a week. Purchased new it comes with a bright resistance band as well. The only thing I would caution buyers about is that it does have some sequences in it that if you’re not very coordinated it could be tricky.

The sequences are pretty basic though. I highly recommend this product to anyone and am very satisfied with my purchase.

Its a good, all over workout. The cardio isnt too difficult. The second half, which uses the band more, is a good workout. The band wasnt strong enough. I bought mine here, used, so the band may have been used, but it looked pretty new.

I would recommend a heavier band than the one it comes with. Again, I’m not sure about the band I got in my dvd, but it was not strong enough. I usually workout with 4 lb weights to give you an idea of what I’m comparing this band to.

Wonderful to keep physically functional for only 22 minutes a day, if a knee feels a little sketchy doing one of these workouts gets me back to full strength though am not overweight which would make it more difficult.

Still burning more calories and going at your own rate, a real plus. Like to keep my feet fully mobile too though podiatrist wants to surgically freeze mobility there, doing these workouts helps me avoid that and stay fully in shape for intermediate skiing even at age 70.

A must! Especially if you need to feel better, maintain, or increase your range of mobility! She knows what shes talking about and the workouts counter balances daily physical work, movements, and traditional exercise.

Amazing results if done consistently daily! Im 57 and It liberated tension and stiffness for me. Feel 20 years younger and always in a good mood now. Im no longer skeptical.

This is one of the most useful and informational exercise videos I’ve ever used for workouts. Miranda Esmonde-White understands physiology, explains the benefits of movements thoroughly, and constructs each episode so that certain areas of the body get emphasized while the whole body gets a fantastic workout.

The brain, too.

Trying to lose the weight from medication. My sister is coming for a visit and she does Pilates and Yoga. I now have several options to view.

This is a really good low impact effective work out. I ve been using Denise videos over 20 years and they are still fun, easy and effective. So glad i was able to find a really good one.

Denise Austin is my go to authority, she has been around for years! I even was in one of her books. I love to use her dvd’s a few times a week. The best part of her dvd’s is that she is enthusiastic, she believes that anything is possible.

I would recommend this dvd and several others.

After working out to Total Body Sculpt on Fit TV I saw good results. In a short time I had noticeable stronger muscles–got me hooked. I like how there is a good warm-up followed by lower body, then upper body, abs, and cool down/stretching in each 20-25 min session.

Owning the DVD makes it so I can continue my workouts without paying for cable tv.

First class workout. The targeted areas get me and my friends to “hurt City” on a regular basis. But what can you say about training fifty year old bodies? If you want a good workout this one is for you.

So glad I bought 3 more of these. Never disappointed with Gilad workouts

I am a fan of the 10 Minute Solutions series and was intrigued when I saw this one was coming out. I was curious to see whether it would live up to its name and if it would keep my attention and not bore me with endless crunches.

I have tried it and can definately say without hesitation, this is another winner. Each of the 5 workouts has effective and creative moves that really work and are fun to do. During each workout, I could feel the muscles working and could see a difference afterward.

The last two workouts are more traditional, incorporating crunches, but they do so in a way that is not monotonous. The instructor is pleasant, but not annoying and she gives good modifications, if neccessary, along with direction as to how to do the exercises properly.

I really am glad that I have added this to my collection and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to tighten and tone their waistline! The first section doesn’t include one single crunch but still has an athletic feel.

This features pushups, front planks, forearm planks and side planks, with lifts for the hips (for side planks) or limbs (front planks). Of all of the sections, this was the one that felt the most Lotte Berk to me as she threw in some reminders about tucking the hips and pushing the weight back.

I really liked this section, but then I like anything that doesn’t require crunches. Seriously, I felt this entire segment through my back, arms and buttock as well as my abs. The second section featured Pilates movements.

I’m pretty sure that the instructor isn’t a certified Pilates instructor, but she stuck to enough of the fundamentals to be respectable. This section included the Hundred, some of the Stomach Series, Roll Ups and a modified Teaser.

Bonus: she also included some work for the back, noting that Pilates was not all about the abs. The third section was the cardio segment I’d been curious about. On preview, she doesn’t look like she’s moving fast, and she does break several times to instruct, but it still gets the heart rate up.

It felt like a hybrid of standing ab work and kick boxing, with an emphasis, obviously, on kicks and knee lifts. Here, too, she also included instructions for the tuck familiar to Lotte Berk practitioners.

The next section was pretty much classic, straight up, gym-style crunches. As I’ve said, these are my least favorite way of training my abs, but if that’s what you’re about, she packs most of the traditional variations in here: classic crunches, side crunches, crunches with one knee up, double crunches, etc.

The last section is a mix of the first and the fourth, with some of the planks and crunch variations. This would be a great way to get in some traditional as well as functional training for the abs.

This DVD has been such a complete guide to instruct me on how to develop a awesome flat, ripped stomach abs! I lived with an ex- girlfriend who happen to receive this same DVD as a gift. I tried it out at home and fell in love with it instantly.

The fact, one can achieve such great results with a variety of quick ten minute segments will make any aspiring 45 yr old male curious. I still utilize weight machines for my abs at the gym as an alternative to the DVD routines.

However, I highly recommend this DVD to better target your abs. I use to have just a 4 pack of abs, but now, after using this DVD, I have achieved the 6 pack abs that most men would only dream about in their mid-forties! Tha.

This is a very intense workout which, of course, focuses on the abdominals. There are five different routines, some more intense than others. There is a standing aerobic (sort-of) routine, and the other abdominal routines range from classic sit-ups and crunches to pilates based movements.

There is a short warm up and cool down before each of the workouts. I usually do one of the 10 minute workouts in conjunction with another workout that doesn’t have enough abdominal work. The workouts are easy to follow and the music is good.

A mat and floor space is all you need. The level of intensity is moderate to advanced-probably more on the advanced end. This is not a good beginner dvd if you are looking for a longer workout. But if you just want something that can give you a good abdominal workout in 10 minutes (with a variety of workouts to choose from) than this is it.

I have 4 of Leslie Sansone’s walking Videos and I just love them. Leslie is fun and upbeat and she encourages you throughout the Miles workout. The walking Videos are great for Women who are jyst starting out on a better lifestyle to fitness.

Since walking with Leslie ( Dec, 2018 ), I have lost 10 pounds and 13 inches. I am very happy with my products!.

The vhs tape of this broke so needed a replacement. Thankful that there was a DVD. Never wears out.
