20 Best Weighted Dip Belt (2022 Updated)

I have owned two of these belts over the course of approximately 18 months, both of which have been comprised in the exact same place (golden studs/eyelets at the D ring). While sturdy and durable under light loads, the belts structural integrity is inadequate for loads exceeding 40kg.

The belt is not worth it’s premium price tag given you cannot be confident it will hold up during your weighted calisthenics movements, which can be a potentially injurious situation. Overall, very disappointed!.

Good materials, well constructed and (most importantly to me) the D-rings are tack welded and BEEFY. The carabiner is definitely the weakest link but Im sure its more than enough until you get much over about 100-150lbs, then a big one is only a couple dollar upgrade anyways.

This belt was only $25 and is safe with as much weight as id ever want, so 5 stars there. But I had to modify mine so as to be comfortable enough to actually accommodate that kind of weight. The (thick) oval shaped panel sewn to the under side seemed like it would keep the edge of the belt from cutting into you, unfortunately its only maybe a foot wide, not enough to wrap around your sides at all (where all the pressure is) even w/ a sz 32 waist, rendering it quite useless.

If youre hanging less than 50lbs, its fine. More than about 80lbs will not feel so nice, unless you go custom.

Awesome product. I’m so glad I bought this item. Perfect to get a quick workout in at home especially adding some kettlebells and getting in some squat workouts in. Also, doesn’t feel cheap. Thanks.

I’m a 6’3” 265 lb weightlifter with a 40 inch waist, and the belt works perfectly on me. I was a little worried because I’ve never used a dip belt before and didn’t understand fully how it worked until I tried it the first time.

The fabric itself only reaches to about my front hip flexors, but when you loop the chain through the plates and clip it back to the same side you started from, the downward pull of the plates tightens the belt and holds it snug against your hips so it can’t slide down.

I’ve used it successfully with two 25 lb standard plates – the chain would fit through the center holes, but I have plates with grip handles so I just use those. (Clarification – the *chain* fits through standard holes.

You have to remove the clip first and reattach it on the other side. ) The trickiest bit is mounting heavy weight while trying to hold the belt on. I recommend either sitting on a bench with the plates resting on the bench in front of you, or setting them flat on a couch arm or something like I do, so you can thread the chain, clip it, and then carefully lower the weights into position.

Walking is funny once you have the weights on, and you’ll want to bend over. Keep proper posture against the weight, because the main pull is against your lower back. The weights will also swing like a pendulum if your form is off and you’re moving all over the place, so be careful.

I use this mainly for standing calf raises at home so I can keep my hands free for balance, gripping the wall with my calf block next to it, and if I’m not careful, the plates can swing forward and bash the wall.

My one concern over time is that the chain doesn’t look thick or strong in real life. It has to be smaller to fit standard plates, and it makes me nervous to trust it with heavier weights, since my feet are right below the plates during calf raises.

I’ll update over time and use on how it holds up. Overall looks good out of the gate, would recommend!.

Kind of a mixed review and I wish I had read some of the other reviews before purchasing it. 2 biggest criticism:1- like other reviews have mentioned, the stitching seems suspect. So as soon as I received the belt I noticed that one side the stitching threads seemed slightly loose.

I really didn’t wanna have to return it so I poured a while lot of super glue where the stitching is to make sure it doesn’t have a chance to come apart and seems to be fine. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t actually a tear as some reviews shown but am sure with bit of use it would have torn and if you have one of this belt then I would suggest you do some sort of preventive measure.

Glue seems to have worked well for me. 2- the chain and the carabineer both seem really cheap and nasty but they both easily replaceable for something that will look and feel better. I haven’t replaced them yet very reckon carabineer will not last too long so will probably have to when it breaks or stops closing.

Good things:- having weights and hanging it seems really comfortable. – despite the weak looking chain and carabineer I still feel quite confident with 30kg and an sure it can do more. I use it mostly for donkey calf raises which is proving awesome this far and don’t know why don’t see more people use this for calves.

Not strong enough yet to do a strict weighted pull up but feels though there is enough grip for belt to stay put- not that it matters much but the belt looks nice (.

It does what it purports to do. I’ve used up to a single 45 lb. plate and no problem, but the chain doesn’t feel like the sturdier metal that I used on a previous (gym-owned) belt. To be fair though, this chain may be superior quality, but I’m too ignorant to know any better and am merely going off of what I know.

Also, I would’ve preferred to have gotten one with a velcro/other type of strap so that I could fasten the belt before putting the chain between a weight. I have to kind of hold the belt with one hand for a moment before putting the chain through a weight.

Somewhat annoying but not the producers fault that I didn’t think of it before purchasing, so Im not knocking a star off for it. 8. 5/10.

This dip belt is awesome! I like this dip belt so much better than the traditional/standard dip belts that aren’t secured around your waist. Very importantly, this dip belt is very comfortable. As for sizing, I wear 29 inch pants and based on the sizing chart (which measures around your belly button), I measured 32 inches which was borderline between size S and size M.

I chose size M and it fits just fine. But if you are smaller than my measurements, then I would go with the Small. You have a good amount of room to tighten or loosen if you gain or lose weight (think of it as a regular velcro weight belt – you can adjust it and what it comes down to is how perfectly one side of the velcro covers the other velcro side).

I went with the Medium because it will allow my teenage boys to grow into it (as they will no doubt grow bigger than me). Even though my son wears 28 inch pants and measures 30 around the belly button, he is still able to wear it.

But again if you are smaller than 32 inches around the belly button (based on the size chart) and don’t expect to grow any bigger, then I would choose size Small.

A year ago I bought this belt for hip squats (crushed vertebrae eliminates regular squats). Rather than build a platform, I straddled a weighted Olympic bar, wrapped the strap around the center of the bar then connected the clips to the left and right belt rings (one behind my back, the other in front).

That set-up works very well; great burn on the quads and glutes, and it also works smaller muscles as you hand-balance the bar fore-and-aft. As the strap wears out, I’ll be looking to replace it. Ironbull, any ideas where I can replace the strap without ordering a new belt?.

High build quality and innovative design make this the most versatile ‘dip’ belt on the market. I can hook up my cables from my free motion gensis for so many different exercise variations. When using this traditionally by hanging weight between your legs, the design keeps the straps (better than chains for comfort) from getting where you don’t want them.

Most weight belts can accidently pinch which is no good. This is my first Iron Bull product, will definitely not be my last. A great addition to any home gyms.

Item is made from quality material and well made at that. The chain might be too short for others as they use large plates. I however, dont use these for dips, i work out at home, so i bought these for calf raises.

Just wear it with a set of 5kg plates hanging between my legs and do standing calf raises. And for this the chain is long enough. It def made the calf raises more better. All-in-all, for my purpose it works just fine.

I have been using this belt for some time now and unlike other belts on the market, this has turned out to be a real amazing piece of handicraft. The stitching is really sturdy and the belt is very comfortable while working out.

Would highly recommend to anyone to power work out.

The chain is good quality but the length of the belt it self is way too short. Which makes it very unsecure. It keeps dropping and there is no solution. I try to shorten the chain but it doesn’t make a lot of difference.

I only use 25kg on the pull up and I’m not a big guy but still it’s too short.

I’ve been using the belt for over a month. It’s exactly what I wanted and expected. It’s sturdy, well made, chain length is great, it’s heavy… Some reviews have mentioned the plastic cutting. So it makes sense, Rogue seals the end of the nylon by melting the frayed ends creating stiff plastic which can get hard and sharp.

Mine is fine. No sharp areas, just stiff.

I bought a dip/chin belt for myself which I use all the time. My buddy used it once and liked it so I told him I would order him one. After the order was placed I was notified by email that the product was on back order and my money would be refunded.

My money was refunded. They said when the product was available, they would send me on for free. True to their word, a few weeks later they shipped me me a dip/chin belt and did not charge me for it.

True story!.

Been using this for a few months and have been very happy. The rings are circles which means they cannot be rotated out of place unlike my old dip belt that had D rings. Have had up to 90lbs on it with no signs of distress.

Only possible downside is it had no padding but that has not been a problem for me.

this product is not adjustable and is designed for plus sized individuals. the weight belt slides right off me unless i arch my back significantly. the less weight used, the easier it slips off. for small weights, i managed to pass the chain through the buckles to use as a belt of sorts.

the chain isn’t long enough to do this with large weights.

I have have been staying in shape with weight lifting since junior year in high school so I am familiar weight lifting belts. My belt of many years, since 1966, is being retired. I am knocking on the door of 80 years and this belt works for and it does fill my needs.

It is easy to put on provides support for my back. I would not recommend it for young power lifter but ample enough for beginners. Weight lifters or supporting the back around other lifting at home or work.

This is a great fitting and economic lifting belt. It provides more support than most belts do.

Simply put, the belt is fantastic. Have use the iron edge and harbinger pro belts before this and they don’t even compare. Was a bit hesitant buying online but as soon as I put it on I knew I’d made the right choice.

Leather is soft and supple straight out of the box. Have used from 5-40kg and all weights very comfortable. Superb product.

The belt is amazingly constructed with fine leather and it feels unrivaled in safety as I’ve used other dip belts before. It fits very well on the lumbar and you can really concentrate on the training rather than the dangles.

This belt feels the direct opposite of cheap and I find it was definitely a good purchase. One **** of a belt indeed.

Usable with all conventional weights, fitting through even the 25mm hole of some smaller weight plates, the dips belt is quite effective and feels very professional. Although it can slip a little from the waist with lighter weight attached, it still manages to serve its purpose, and with heavier weights, this is less of a problem.

I considered buying this because it was getting pretty difficult to reach failure with one set of body weight pullups. I really needed to find something that could make pull-ups more of a challenge. I purchased this GYMREAPERS weighted belt about a month ago.

The shipping was relative fast. It took about 3 days. The first time I used it I put a 25-pound plate and it. It handled the weight really well. The chain could probably hold about four or five plates depending on how big they are.

At first, I was a little disappointed because it was slipping off my waist as I was doing pull-ups. I was worried I would have to send it back. I connect one carabiner to the other side as a work around.

However, I realized that the back pad was still new and a little stiff. So, by bending it a little and working out the stiffness it started working normally. I also noticed that it started to get a lot more comfortable to wear during lifts.

For the price it seems like the quality is extremely high. It is made from very tough material. The stitching is pretty strong and does not seem like it will wear out anytime soon. I was also happy with the chain.

It is the heavy kind not cheaply made, so I think whatever weight you can fit it would likely hold. I also like the design. I have borrowed other weight belts and seen a lot of bland solid color belts.

The design does a good job of adding character and uniqueness to the belt. It has a great look. In summary I am very satisfied with this product and would absolutely recommend that you choose this over other brands and options.

After 20+ years of lifting, this has probably been my favorite dip belt I’ve used. It’s super lightweight and very durable. I also like how well it stays in place during lifts. For the price, you get a ton of bang for your buck.

I have only used one other dip belt and that was an old leather one at my job. This belt is very comfortable and easy to use. The carabiner makes for easy attachment and release of added weights.

The belt and chain is to short. When using big plates like the normal steel 45 or a bumper plate the short chain pulls it very uncomfortablly into my groin instead of hanging around the knees like other belts I’ve used.

Not sure if I’m going to cut the chain off and add a longer chain or just order a better belt. I would not buy again.

i think that it was good but you should make size accurate. because i ordered XXL size it is for 43 to 47 i was 46. but after it arrived in 2 weeks i was 44 and it is bigger then me a lot bigger so big that i think i should have ordered XL but no we i don’t think we can change that but still i think you should tell you costumes about this that it is not size accurate.

PS: quality is good but not as good i thought i would say normal.

The belt is good quality. The chain is thin and to short to carry the weight plates. The belt was pretty inexpensive so I’m going to buy a longer chain.

I’m using this for pull ups, dips and belt squats. They are OK for pull ups and dips if you fit it in a triangle loop pattern with weight under 30 lbs. However on deep squats with 60+ lbs the chain begins to rub and grind your inner thigh.

I am getting multiple bruises in that sensitive area. Also during squats the configuration should be just hanging instead of the triangle or you will get rubbing in the upper *ubic area. Another big fault with the product is the outer flaps should have added 3 inches more because the D link keeps popping out and rubbing against the skin.

The flaps if not seated properly will rise up and push up against your skin as well making this product very uncomfortable. I am very disappointed in this product. Price is great to try out since their prices is equal to amazon and I can return it in store without paying for shipping.

If you’re thinking of buying a cheaper belt from amazon or you were burned by one just but this instead. I bought some cheap 15 dollar belt that slowly fell apart as the fabric ripped and the metal bent apart.

This belt is only 30 bucks and the chain is much thicker, the metal is so much better, and the fabric much thicker. I don’t see this thing falling apart any time soon. No sign of bending even though I’ve loaded over 100 pounds for donkey calf raises.

Just buy it.

This dip belt is extremely well built: solid stitching around the belt components, nice comfortable padding on the inside of the belt, and very heavy-duty D-rings, chain, and carabiner. The chain is a good length (74 cm 79cm with carabiner) and can handle heavy weight plates without a problem.

The belt itself is quite light (with the chain it weighs roughly 800g) yet quite rigid and sits very comfortably around the lower back. I cannot really find a fault with this belt if you are looking for a dipping belt, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

If this belt were lost or stolen (its not going to break), I would definitely buy this again.

Very heavy duty! Comfortable! Don’t buy a ****** cheap belt from ebay, i learnt the hard way and that broke real quick, this belt is great, i’ve hung 45kg off it and could have easily been able to take more weight, highly recommended.

this dip belt way better than others dip belt. so comfortable to wear and the materials are the best. surely built “fe” tough. i would bet i can use this dip belt for my entire life.

I bought this for my husband and he loves it! Super comfortable and strong material. He’s wanted a deadlift belt forever and said that this was perfect for it. Usually he would be a large but I got him an XL to give him more wiggle room.

I would suggest actually measuring your waist rather than going with pants size.

Started working out again after hurting my back last year. Wanted to keep it safe this time and got myself a weightlifting belt. This one was in my price point, so I decided to purchase it and see how well it is.

On my first day with the belt, I could definitely tell that it helped stabilize my back. The product itself is very sturdy, yet comfortable to use for squats and deadlifts. It’s velcro, so make sure you know that before purchasing, but I like the velcro component.

Wearing it doesn’t really bother me. It doesn’t make my itchy and the sweat evaporates very quickly. It was definitely worth the cost, and I would recommend it to anyone else looking to purchase one!.

Well, I have brought both small and medium size but both of them are either too small or too large for my waist size(28”). I think I will return the item. However, The quality and material is quite great.

Also, it is comfortable.

Over time I’ve grown out of love with my thick, leather weightlifting belt. The compression was bruising my ribs and I feel it was actually slowing down my progress. I was really looking for something that wasn’t noticeable and awkward when I squat or deadlift but still able to provide bracing feedback and minor stability during heavy lifts.

The Velcro is SUPER secure and you’ll never have to worry about it coming undone during your lifts. It’s pretty amazing how tight you can crank this belt and still not have to worry about the Velcro coming undone.

brbrI plan to use this belt for 98% of my training, essentially, and use the leather belt only for max attempts. If you’re working at really high weights on you’re not used to on squats, for instance, you will notice the lack of upright support that the leather belt provides, but it’s not a huge deal for me.

You’ll get stronger abs as a result! It’s really a remarkable product, in all of it’s simplicity.

Got this belt for my youngest son based on the strength of the product and customer service reviews. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD ON AMAZON. I ordered the wrong size and their response was a prompt “what you need is on it’s way, shipping is on us and give other belt to someone who could use it”.

This is a comparison review of the fire team fit weightlifting belt and the E 26 weightlifting belt. The fire team fit belt at the bottom of my picture looks great and I love that it has 6 inch lumbar support however although the belt does fit I cant get it tight enough.

It is the same size large as the E 26 belt which does get tight enough. The fire team fit belt the metal clasp its difficult to loosen after you are done your set such I am using it for squats and deadlifts and after each set I like to unstrap it and its annoying with the fire team fit belt and easier with the E 26 beltbrMy one knock of the E 26 belt is that it is not 6 inches it is very thin more like 3 1/2 to 4 inches but it still does the job.

If the belt was 6 inch lumbar support I would definitely choose this one. brOverall I will be returning the fire team fit belt at the bottom of my picture and I will be keeping for now the E 26 belts but I am going to be looking for a belt with 6 inch lumbar support that also can tighten and loosen more easily.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I can’t describe how much I love it. I basically use it on a daily and it has helped me with my workout plan. I have seen a BIG improvement and I would highly recommend it for building strength, muscle, and resistance.

My old gym had a dipping belt, so there was no need for me to invest in one. A change of gym proved necessary, the new gym had no dipping belt. I had decided to make weighted dips an integral part of my chest routine.

And so I purchased this item. I’ve used it over the last few weeks and have no complaints. It seems sturdy and holds my current, 40kg, max weight with no issue. I’ll move up to adding 50kg for my next chest day.

I can only recommend the Myprotein dipping belt and weighted dips for anyone looking to built bigger pecs. Train smart:).

The belt I received (size S) is not the same as in the picture but unfortunately can’t return because I didn’t think to check right away. Specifically, the buckle is very different from what is shown on the website: it has hard edges and a lot of hard bulk that stops right on the lower edge of the ribs making is very painful to wear.

Not recommended.
