I think that for the price and space that it saves, this is a great product. Set up and adjustment of weight increments is easy and quick, and the weights feel true to their purported measurement. The materials are nice and quiet, though the plastic coating around the plates and the clip attachments to the plates make the dumbbell get stuck at times when cycling or trying to remove from the base.

The dumbbells save a lot of space and money from having to purchase multiple dumbbells to get the range from 5-52. 5 lbs. That being said, they are very bulky and the form on some lifts may feel awkward or difficult where you’re used to using a more compact sized dumbbell.

It’s also been noted that the design of the plates and the plate clips can be a safety hazard if the plate clips loosen from the bar, causing a plate to slide off. You also CANNOT DROP THEM as it will potentially break the connector clips to the plates.

Because of this design, you should not do certain exercises with them like dumbbell rows from the push up position. I’ve just purchased these so I haven’t experienced anything like that at this time.

Overall, this is a great supplement to your other workout equipment and it does the job for what it achieves in space and money saving from buying separate dumbbells or plates. I would prefer it to go higher than 52 lbs for its size, as some lifts aren’t beneficial at that weigh limit.

Unfortunately, the Bowflex 1090s are too expensive for me to make that investment.

If you are looking to add serious strength training to your workouts at home, this is the place to start. I’ve used the traditional aluminum dumbbells with plates and spin-lock collars (and variations of those) since I was a teenager.

These always seemed like items for the rich, but when you take into consideration all the plate combinations you would have to buy it’s tremendous value. Plus, the time you save from changing the weight after each set is invaluable.

It’s incredibly easy and fool proof. There’s a solid click at each notch and it is labeled for the weight of the entire dumbbell, unlike some other brands that label for the weight of each end, resulting in having to do some quick fractional math to use.

The spacing of the weight is also well thought out; increments of 2. 5 pounds from 5 to 25, then by increments of 5 pounds the rest of the way up. My only wish would be that these dumbbells are more drop resistant and can be used as push-up bars to combo into certain super-sets.

You also need to take your time re-inserting the dumbbells into the rack to make sure the plates line up. This can be slightly difficult after a harder set as your arms are shaking as your try to rack them.

Other than this, I have been extremely satisfied with them and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is serious about adding quality strength-training equipment to their home gym.

Although I put “gym rat”, I am actually a gym rat in my own home. I work out twice a week with a trainer and the other days on my own. When it became clear that my random assortment of kettlebells and minimal assortment of dumbbells was no longer adequate for my strength and fitness level, my trainer recommended these.

I sat on this a good long while, hoping my hubby would buy them for me. When it became clear that wasn’t going to happen, I took the plunge. I’m so glad I did! They are far easier to use than I anticipated and take up far less space than a full complement of dumbbells would.

Although they are on the bulky side, you quickly learn to deal with that. It can even come in handy! For example, the first time I used them with my trainer, I did a goblet box squat and found that holding a heavy dumbbell in the goblet position was much easier than a similar weight kettlebell AND I got a personal best! The unpacking and set up was easy – but hopefully those who are not familiar with allen wrenches can figure that out when releasing the strap that holds them in place during shipping, since there are no instructions on that! I have only had them about a month, but they feel sturdy and solid.

Changing weights is easy (easier than expected) and quick. I think having access to this array of weights is motivating and keeps you working to improve your strength. The handles are comfortable in your hands.

I was pleased with the prompt delivery and that minimal packaging material was used. But unlike similar weights I’ve had for years, the shaft has a raised seam along its length which makes it hard to find a comfortable way to grip.

If I’d known, I would have asked for a smooth shaft. There were also a few minor, small pockmarks in the neoprene.

I purchased the 3, 5 and 8 lb weights, and have been using them for a few weeks. They are well-balanced and comfortable to grip. While the 8 lb weight leaves my hands with a mild smell after minimal handling, the 3 and 5 lb weights do not.

The neoprene covering of the 8 lb weight had a few defects upon arrival (not due to shipping damage), but they are not very noticeable and do not affect their performance. The other weights I received were flawless.

The Core Home Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells are the best dumbbells on the market. I own the Bowflex and PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells and these one blow those dumbbells out of the water! Here are the reasons why: 1.

The quick change weight adjustment. All you need to do to set the dbs back in the stand and twist your wrist forward or back to adjust the weight. You don’t need to twist knobs or insert pins. This allows me to alternate between exercises very quickly.

2. As you adjust the weight the size of the dumbbells change. So if you are doing light weight the dumbbell is very small. As you go up in weight the dumbbell increases in size but is not as big and bulky as the Bowflex and PowerBlock.

It’s a really cool design. It allows you to do any exercise you want without having to worry about your dbs hitting together. My girlfriend loves these because she can do curls and presses easily. The Bowflex are much larger and didn’t allow for a natural lifting motion due to the size.

3. The dumbbells are very durable. Like with all Adjustable Dumbbells you need to treat them care. They feel great and think these will last a very long time.

We bought these a few years ago and I still love them. The lifting style I do involves increasing weights with each set so this is WAY more cost and space efficient for my workouts. I can do a set, adjust up to add weight, do another set, adjust up, etc.

I don’t have to have a huge rack with a bunch of different dumbbell sets all over the place. The only thing is it’s a little finicky trying to get them back in the holder thing to adjust, sometimes the plates get stuck on each other as you’re trying to slide them into the stand to adjust.

Just wiggle it a little or pull them back up and make sure you put them in straight. That’s the only reason I don’t give it 5 stars. It’s just annoying sometimes, not detrimental, so still overall a really great product.

Update 12/24/20, replacement handle being sent. I will further update once received. I have owned the dumbbells for two weeks and the plastic frame inside the handle sheared off, so it does not fully hold the plates.

I reported the issue with photos and there has been no acknowledgement or response. I recently read that customer service is an issue if there is a problem. I am hoping that is not the case as these are not inexpensive and this is clearly a workmanship issue.

I’ve had the 552 for 15 plus years. I absolutely LOVE the grip on those. I received the 1090’s and the grip is completely different. The overall weight, balance, dial change is 5 stars, however the grip NEEDS IMPROVING.

It is NOT knurled like standard dumbbells nor do they have the neoprene/rubber grip the 552’s have. The grip for the 1090’s are ‘dots’ and they do not even go all the way around the handle/grip. With a heavier weight selected, the dumbbell itself seems to roll in your hand.

The gloss metal finish that is smooth on the handle has ZERO grip. Not safe when lifting heavy, whether you are pushing (pressing) or pulling (rowing) the 1090’s. BowFlex. PLEASE MAKE A HANDLE THAT CUSTOMERS CAN USE AS A DIY REPLACEMENT PART.

Create one, notify 1090 users then give us the option to replace it sending it and directions on how to take apart the dumbbell & insert the new shaft with the either same as the 552 grip or different completely knurled (similar to a standard barbell) & stronger grip style handle that rests in the hand comfortably.

If you have the original dumbbell stand the 552’s came with or were purchased with, the 1090’s will fit. No need to purchase the new rack unless you just need / want to.

These dumbbells are great for their convenience and ease of use to quickly change weight amounts. Being able to quickly switch from 10lbs up to 90lbs on one dumbbell is a technical marvel. My only complaint with these dumbbells is that the hand bars are not a continuous round shape, but have a built in almost square shape to them, I’m assuming for grip.

Even with gloves on they are slightly awkward to hold. I’d much prefer a smooth bar with grip or the option to change it out. Otherwise these dumbbells are great. They take up 1. 5 sq ft of space on my floor without having to dedicate a whole room to weights.

I’m working out more than I have in the last 5 years due to the convenience of them. I am writing this review as part of a #sweepstakes, but I do love these dumbbells so far.

I bought these during Covid to work out at home and was lucky to get them. I read the mediocre reviews reviews, mainly about the smell, but due to availability I bought them anyway. First, let me say that these were much cheaper than most other dumbbells I saw.

That being said, I was surprised at the quality; they are sturdy, the grips are good, they handles are solid, and they seem like they can handle being a little bit rough on them. But they are rubber and hex shaped, so I wouldn’t recommend dropping them a lot.

Regarding the smell, yes they have a very strong new-tire odor. However, after looking for some solutions online, I simply took a bucket of warm water and dawn dish-washing detergent and I washed them very well.

I also dried them very well avoid any possible corrosion to the handle and I never submerged them while washing, just washed with the wet soapy rag. I then put the clean and dry dumbbells out in the noon sun for about an hour on each side.

This pretty much solved the problem. Because of Covid and space issues, I set my Covid home-gym up in my family room next to my living room. There is no noticeable odor, even while walking through the room with the weights.

The only time I still get a slight odor is when I’m actually working out with the dumbbells and moving them through the air, but it is very minor an tolerable. If you’re rolling in money, there are definitely some better dumbbells out there, but I thing these are very good regardless, and excellent when you take into account the lower price.

I bought sets of the 20, 25, 30, & 35s. I like them well enough that when they come back into stock, I’ll probably but the Weider Hex’s in larger weights as well.

I got a pair of these in the 15 pound weight in December 2019 at my local Walmart store — cost was just over a dollar a pound. I use my home gym daily and over the past few months of the pandemic I have wanted to add a 20 pound pair to my collection.

Finding them has been virtually impossible, and when I have found them, they have been exorbitantly priced ( like $80-$100 for a single Weider 20 pound weight)! Totally surprised to see my local Walmart had 2 of these Weider hex 20 pound weights in stock yesterday for $23.

00 each!!! I quickly added them to my curbside grocery pickup and brought them home last night!!! They are perfect! No odor or anything – absolutely amazed and thrilled!! They are now out of stock again — guess I was definitely in the right place at the right time! Thanks Walmart!.

Pros: look and feel exactly as expected, solid construction, match what you’d find in a gym, overall happy with purchase Cons: did NOT expect the very strong “new rubber” odor. Entire room smelt like four new tires, had to keep weights in garage.

Will try to deodorize with suggested techniques (Pine Sol, Murphy Soap, warm water, baking soda. Summary: would give these 4 stars if it wasn’t for the strong odor (which I assume/hope can be eliminated), and would still recommend this product, but set warning re the smell–I would purchase other similar weights (differnt sizes/weight) from Weider, as I trust the brand and product.

Really good set of adjustable dumbbells. I’d almost say they’re a must for anyone short on space who enjoys working out at home. The main advantage with PowerBlocks is that it’s relatively easy to change weight, so if you’re doing drop sets or CrossFit (style) workouts these are great.

These are the pro version, so the weight plates and handle are silicone covered, useful if you’re planning on using these on wooden floors etc. However, for most these are perhaps a tad too premium and unnecessary.

The entry level power blocks will do just as good a job and you might be able to get a bench or few Big Macs with the money you save. One last thing to note is that these are primarily made for the American market, so the weight increments are in pounds (but do have labels in kilos too).

Also the steps are in 10lbs so might make progression for some a tad challenging. I love them and I’m sure you will too if you get these or another set of PowerBlocks.

I’m a big fan of these dumbbells – I bought all three stages for my home gym, and they’ve made a real difference when I want to lift heavy. They make very little noise when in use, and I have accidentally dropped one and there was no damage (though I wouldn’t recommend doing this).

The only thing to bear in mind is that the basic mechanism works in 5kg increments. If you want to go up in smaller increments you have to remove the chrome bars that are part of the main handle. It’s no big deal, just slightly more fiddly than I was expecting.

Overall though I am very happy with the PowerBlocks and would recommend them.

Excellent kit! Adjusting weight is quick and increments allow you to fine tune your workout for progression. Comfortable grips and solid quality construction throughout. I’ve been using these for a mixture of dynamic lifts and they are very secure.

Slight instability from the internal weights actually makes lifts more functional and challenging. Would give 5* but DHL decided to abandon delivery in my driveway two hours ahead of when they said they would deliver, other than that I’ve been very very impressed with Sweatband’s service.

The item arrived as expected. The stand was easy to put together and is sturdy enough to hold the weights. Although no instructions were provided on how to put together the stand, it was easy to figure out where and how to place the screws.

There is no negative comment to say about this item.

Dumbbells are not cheap. At $50 delivered for six, a total of THIRTY TWO POUNDS with stand included these were great value. They were well packed and shipped exceptionally quickly. You may want to add others but these are a good core set.

Foolish me. Somehow I thought when I purchased these they came in pairs. What is the market for single dumbbells? It never occurred to me that when I ordered these, 10, 12, and 15 that I was getting single dumbbells for the price.

I guess they figured I was a dumbbell. They need to change how these appear in the website and in bold lettering say each dumbbell is sold separately.

I could not find a matching pair of the 12lb dumbbells with any other dumbbell ordered or in store. None of the 12lb dumbbells were the same. The ends were deformed, the grips were different thicknesses.

It was difficult to do a workout because they were off balance and the grips were too thick for my grip. It felt off to workout with these. The the lighter weights were perfectly matched, beautifully shaped, and the grips were the same.

Don’t know what’s wrong with the 12 pounders. They were inexpensive either, in my opinion.

I am an Multiple Sclerosis patient and have SLOWLY begun using weights for mobility purposes. I have Physical Therapy twice a week but adding in Light Weights has made a world of difference and these weights are Excellent design for my needs.

I purchased 3, 5, 8 and 10 lbs. I will add more as my Strength continues to grow. but you have to Crawl before you can Walk and Walk before you can Run.

I was given this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. Now that I have used this product, I would have purchased this product without hesitation and will purchase other Weider weights.

I have worked with other dumbbell weights in the past, but none as flexible and secure as these are. The spin-lock collars are secure and I feel like I am working out in a professional gym with these weights.

My teenage sons are really into working out and they absolutely love these weights, and I trust they are safe and secure for them as they use them. It is super easy and quick to add and reduce weight to these bars.

Unlike other clamps or spring wire collars, the spin-locks keep the weights from slipping and rattling as you workout. I can’t wait to add other weights to this set!.

The bars and collars are well machined and the weights are smoothly cast iron. There are grooves in the face of the collars with rubber o rings to keep everything snug. Too bad they could not be made in the USA.

There are 32 lbs of combined weights, with the bars and collars totalling 8 lbs.

Is what it is. Not sure what someone had to say with that 1 star review but, unless some solid metal piece is breaking in two, what can go wrong with this type of set? Metal weights are expensive and I was going to pick up a couple 10 lb 1″ weights for my son to add to a curling bar but saw this set so picked it up and it’s fine.

Gives him some flexibility for what he’s gone for during his workouts.

I purchased these dumbells to do some light workouts, especially my upper arms! They are easy to use, and not too heavy! I wouldn’t improve this item! Only thing is, sometimes the smell, I guess of the paint, can bother me sometimes, but I do recommend this for light workouts!.

These are great weights for women to use or for the elderly, they are easy to grip and they are great to add ton your workout. I would recommend these for people who are trying to tone up or women who are trying to get rid of the under arm flab.

These are the best value dumbbells you can buy during the pandemic. Yes, it’s a pain to change weights with these as expected. However, they are a fraction of the price of the NordicTrack adjustable dumbbells I used to own and smaller for the same amount of weight, which is big plus.

The knurled handles don’t hurt at all, unlike the older NordicTrack adjustable dumbbells. However they are a little small for my hands. Hence, I use workout gloves when I need a stronger grip. The other downside is that you can’t easily lay the weights down on your legs like the gym dumbbells that have flat ends.

I overcame this issue by just wrapping my legs with body thigh trimmer wraps that my wife uses and then laying the weights slightly tilted so that the sharp end of the handles don’t poke into my legs.

Works out pretty well. Overall, I highly recommend these.

Very sturdy equipment that seems that will last the age!! I did right another review on this same item previously stating that the description was a little confusing, where I bought a “set of adjustable 50 dumbbells†thinking it would amount 100 (50×2[pair]= 100lbs).

I said i wouldnt take down my previous review- which seems not to be posted yet- until I was able to get a refund and buy the proper sets! Suffice to say, this product merits five stars for its value and quality! Hands down a must have! P.

s. if you are going this heavy, then definitely look into buying a rack to store this weights away. since you get 20 of a kind! Can you imagine what twenty weights on the ground looks like!.

I love the dumbbells! They’re as old school as it gets, and let’s be honest here, weights are weights! My only concern is that the original shipment was missing 2 of the 4 collars. This didn’t seem like a huge deal and ultimately, I have since received a new, complete set; however, it took me more than a week – consisting of more than 3 chats with Walmart’s online customer service reps, as well as 2 phone-calls with FedEx’s customer service reps -in order to get this resolved.

And I must emphasize that this was all over 2 missing collars, but they still had to send me a new set and request that I package the old one back up, which is still in my apartment until FedEx picks it up a week from now.

Overall, as I said before, the weights are great for the price! I just don’t think I can trust Walmart with online orders anymore based on the confusion and overall complication I’ve had with a minor mistake, so I will make my online purchases with Amazon for now on.

I’ve been using these for well over a month now. I’ve had absolutely no issues whatsoever with these. I don’t have small or big hands, I’d say average size and these weights fit perfectly for my hands to hold.

I also have arthritis and didn’t have any issue with these, i. e. , holding them, grasping them, lifting them. I highly recommend this set.

I love how the gripping feel in my hands. The material does not get sticky after over-and-over use, which is something that bothers me a lot. I make sure to clean it after every use to prevent any gross build-up, and I love how easy it is to wash/clean.

I couldn’t find mine in the database, so I’m reviewing here. I went to Academy and Dick’s Sports and tried all of the dumbbells- cast iron, steel with plastic on ends, neoprene, etc. and I actually liked the neoprene best for the 5 and 10 lbs that I’m starting with.

Neither store had a pair though and the singles they had were dirty. I decided to order off of Amazon. I like these because if you get sweaty, you are far less likely to drop or blister. They are much easier to use and store than cast iron.

They are perfect for walking, cardio, strength training, physical therapy and adding weight into existing routines. I’m not a body builder, so these fit my needs perfectly!.

I love dumbbells that have a coating that promotes easy use. These dumbbells come in different colors! Mine are gray! They help me reach my fitness goals. I recommend these!

I love them. I won’t yet go back to my gym and I had a hard time finding weights anywhere. These came to my door and I have been using them ever since. I love them they have an easy grip and most of all a great price as always on Zulilly they always have great prices.

Works fine. Better to pick them yourself from store as the same color weights have subtle color differences and don’t quite match. Try to get two from same batch so your have matching color/pair. I got mine delivered and colors are off.

Also thickness of handle can vary by small amounts (say 1/8 of an inch) where the join occurs under neoprene. doesn’t bother me but might annoy others. again best to pickup from store where you can ensure similar handle thickness between pairs.

Weights are as described and pictured. They appear new. it’s hard to find weights during the pandemic and really hard to find weights less than $2/pound. This 8 pound pair was a very reasonable value.

They were approximately $4 over the $/2/pound mark but there was no shipping charge–and shipping weights can get expensive. Turnaround was quick. I was satisfied with this purchase in every way and am enjoying using the weights.

I thought theis Dumbbell set would be a great addition to the home workout options, given the flexibility of varying weights. But my excitement didn’t last long after I made the order. The shipment arrived in a damaged box which that has a slit big enough that the contents would be lost.

And for such heavy product, there was no cushioning (bubblewrap or something similar) in the package. As soon as I looked at the contents, I realized that one of the bars was deformed at the holding area.

But I didn’t think it would effect much. But, after a couple of weeks, i found a hole in one of the weights, through which the sand mixture was leaking. I use the weights in a room which has a high carpet and I have never dropped these weights from height.

I am not sure how this hole came up (should definitely be during shipping). And I have no clue how to fill that hole and stop the leakage. I would like to return these if I couldn’t find a solution.

The dumbbell set is just about right for a over 60 years old first time user. The combination of 7. 5 lbs. weights (4 each) and 2. 5 lbs. weights (4 each) are just the right combination to provide different weight options, either using one (1) dumbbell or two (2) dumbbells.

The handles provide a secure grip and the collar clamps are easy to lock and unlock. Good investment with reasonable price and 2-year warranty.

I am very pleased with this product. First, the delivery was extremely fast, simple to put together, and it’s very durable! It is everything I wanted. Purchased the 1/2/5kgs prior. All ordered separately online. Love these dumb bells. Grips well and comfortably. Easy to wash/wipe clean after each use. Rubbery like surface ensures that it doesnt roll easily nor cause damage when placed on floor surface, in between use.

Had some issues with 3kg pair. Brought it along with invoice to nearest Decathlon outlet, item was inspected and replaced easily. Happy experience all around.

Well, whenever we buy something,there is huge options available on online platform like as your budget comfort and many choices etc. Yet we try most of time not to compromise with cost and push ourselves to buy above your budget.

so I did. I am expecting the best Quality from decathlon but unfortunately it isn’t. In my dumbbells I got a deep scretch on one of dumbbells. Although it is not so much big so I have to return becoz I was waiting so eagerly.

I loved the fact that these are anti-skid, anti-roll and anti-scratch pair of dumbbells. I have been using it for last month and half and they have been a perfect companion for my daily workout. They do not roll away and also do not leave any scratches on our home flooring.

They provide a nice grip and are ideal for arms workout. I have also tried using them for my legs workout by tying them around the ankles and they happen to work just fine. Very happy with the overall quality and utility for my workouts at home.
