16 Best Wheel Polishing Kit (2022 Updated)

Have 3 Peterbilts Combination Vac Trucks with Aluminum tanks on the sides that need polishing yearly and the buffer and mothers was very labor intense. This should save a lot of time and make them look better.

Decent product, I do actually like the shaft handle, but the shape is not the best. Good for holes in wheels etc. If you are really needing a deep polish job I’d go for the small round wheel polisher.

Mine started coming apart after the second wheel. about an inch to 1 1/2 inch from the tip trying to get the lip of my wheels.

Does a great job of quickly polishing or cleaning your rims . Simple application, beats the hand work. Recommended!

I was a bit skeptical about buying this little guy because it was so cheap, but it worked out in my favor! The unit performs well, I polished an entire boat with it, only a small issue – the trigger was sticky, wanted to stay stuck on every now and then.

I lubed it with air tool oil as called for, and it seemed to get better with more use. Not a big issue. I didnt use the pads that came with it, they looked so cheap i didn’t want to spend the rest of the day cleaning up pad fur that flung all over my boat.

I bought a set of TCP global pads that worked perfect with the hook and loop backing pad included in this kit. Overall, if you are looking for a mini buffer, this is a decent one to get. – By the way, it sucks more air than other models.

I used a 30 gallon 5 HP compressor (unknown CFM) and i would have to let it build about ever 10 minutes of use. Not a big issue, just thought I would throw it out there in case somebody thinks they will be able to run this off a pancake compressor or something.

The device itself works pretty well except that you cant easily regulate the speed. The backing on one of the pads came off on the first use. I will try to glue it but that should not have been necessary.

The Alcoa aluminum trailer wheels look good even after years of not being polished. Or so we thought! The guy who dismounted the old tires said he didn’t remember me having chrome wheels when I brought the polished rooms and new tires in to him.

My mother thought they were chrome, too. My wife couldn’t believe how much difference 1 step made. It kept getting better with each step. 4 steps later they are like a mirror. These wheels are 15 years old and have traveled up and down the east coast.

My brother said the pictures don’t do it justice. He’s right. The curves and contours of the wheel don’t reflect like a flat mirrored surface. Easy to use. The first stage buffing wheel is a little hard to hold onto.

The wheels look awesome. Awesome products.

Quality product with quality results what more can you ask for. Sure you have to put in some work. Using this product helps you work smarter not harder. Started on 2 of 4 Aluminum rims on a 1995 Chevy G30 Extended Sports van that I’m converting.

The rims are coming out great. Nice and shiny, figure all save over $1000 restoring them. I just need to replace a few aluminum rivets.

Finally the rite product to do the best job. Don’t even think about buying aluminum polish and hand rub you will not get the best results. If you want it to shine like a mirror there is no better choice! Here is my first go at polishing my aluminum trailer first used 220 to remove some gouges then 320 then first the yellow wheel and here is the results.

Two more wheels to go after I finish up this fender it’s a lot of work but it will be worth it.

I was looking for a one time use & cheap. I only used the buffing pads in the kit, so I can’t comment on the included stones. It worked as I intended, except for the compound was extremely hard (I had some Mother’s aluminium polish around, so that did the trick), & the pads really shed when using them at 1st, but they calmed down after awhile.

Like I said, it worked as I intended, for buffing an aluminum master cylinder one time, that I was installing on my 55 Bel Air show street rod. PS, You need to keep tightening the pads a couple of times to the shank with a screw driver on the larger pads.

I used this kit for the forst time in my life to polish aluminum door sill plates on my 53 year old car. Having never polished aluminum before, I read a lot of articles and watched some videos. I used the white rouge stick for final polish on both of them having used Dawn and a toothbrush, whip-it cleaner, aluminum foil, white diamond polish.

They were looking much much better. So I teued the white rouge and my 12V drill. Got them looking better. Needed to recharge battery 5 times so far, recharging overnight now and going to use the big buffing wheel attachment in the kit tomorrow and see how much shinier they are.

Bought this for polishing aluminum wheels. It works well. I used Mother’s wheel polish along with the supplied polish.

Great kit with all the basics for small stainless jobs! Plenty of compounds to last for a while. This kit helped produce great results.

I only used the two largest circular buffs to clean up some golf clubs. The buffs are cheaply made and they shed fibers like crazy. It made a huge mess. Be sure to wear safety glasses when using!

After some searching I found the ENKAY Polishing here at Northern Tools. I had it for about 2-3 weeks before I was actually able to try it out, I did some wet sanding first to get most of the gunk that built-up on my wheels, and then the easy job came.

I used my hand drill (which was rated at 2500 rpm, next time I’m going for more speed) with the ENKAY polishing disks and got amazing results. I wish I could send pictures so you could see what kind of results an amature can achieve.

Once I put my bike back together, I’m going to take it out, show my friends, and let them know that for about 4-5 hours per tire (both sides) what their wheels could look like. Thanks for having the ENKAY Polishing Kit available.

I was totally disappointed in the quality of the kit I purchased, the bars were dry and flakey and appeared as though they’ve sat around for years, the buffing wheels fell apart and the stitching on one was coming loose before I even used it.

When I attempted to polish my motorcycle it actually scratched the parts, and even dulled the area. My parts were prepped earlier so all I needed was the final polishing step. After using this product for a very short time I threw it all back in the box, tossed in the corner.

A lesson learned. If you’re looking for quality polishing equipment, then this kit isn’t for you.

I am restoring a couple of old cars and my bench buffing system is way to large and dangerous to use on small parts and moldings. Used for buffing/ restoring stainless trim and parts. Works great. Yes this is for a drill! and it works great in the drill.

Need a corded drill though. Cordless do not have the RPM you need. Good assortment of wheels and compound. Compound goes a long way.

When I opened the box which came quickly as usual from Eastwood, I was disappointed as I expected buffing wheels which would work on my grinder. Instead they are for a drill; not too many drills now-a-days turn 2500 rpm as desired by the instructions.

But I located my air drill, chucked the 4″ pad into it and went to work on my first piece. Surprisingly, if you follow the instructions, liberally use the polishing compound which comes in semi-harden sticks, the kit will do a nice job cleaning up & polishing previously wire brushed rusty mild polished steel.

I then tried it on tarnished 63 Nova chrome trim strips and they came out like new. Still would have preferred grinder mounted polishing pads, but this kit will work just not as quickly or easily.

I make knives, so I keep plenty of these on hand for finishing steel and brass. They hold up just as well as the expensive ones for a third of the cost. My only gripe is that I wish they sold them separately.

I mainly use the 220 and 400 grit discs because I use my belt grinder for coarse work and hand sand after 400 grit. I find myself with a large supply of several grits that aren’t used as much. That’s about it though.

I bought this set to replace a similar set from a box store. I polished a slab of granite left over from a sink cut out. While I can’t achieve a wet polish shine , the edge and slight round over turn out great.

Use a slow speed grinder and take your time. I used up most of the roughest grit just to get where the others could start.

I use these for polishing slate to prepare for etching. They work pretty well. The coarser discs work really good but wear quickly. I wish I could get the discs individually. Lower rpm helps (under 5000rpm).

The finer wheels polish metals well.

Cone works great, the cone shape allows you to get into tighter areas when you are polishing. I bought it to use on my truck wheels. Quality is really good. Use with some MOTHERS Wheel polish you will get great results.

As with the Power Ball, this is an excellent product. I have a bile that has been in a leaky shed for at least a dozen years that I’m trying to restore and the wheels were very pitted. I worked on the first wheel several nights by hand, and although I made progress, it just was nit getting there.

I have the mini Power Ball, but it wouldn’t fit between the spokes. So I got this cone and did more in part of an evening than all those nights I worked by hand. Probably looks better than they did new.

Frankly, I expected to be disappointed. Surely, the ease-of-use claims were inflated–no, they’re not. Of course, the material will tear-up in my mag’s slots, or on the valve stems–not even! This tool may actually last for years.

Summit’s price is competitive. Used it with Mother’s Mag & Aluminum Polish on my 35-year-old Corvette wheels. Now they do look 20 years younger.

This ball unit said it would work on all surfaces so for the past four years I’ve been using it to buff polish and wax off my sedan. It works well overall and is pretty cheap, however it doesn’t have a crossbar to allow torque force which would make it much easier to use.

Also, don’t overcoat the polish and don’t let it sit longer than to dry to a haze. You don’t want it too difficult to remove. My unit is almost worn out so my next one will be the Mcguires DA polish system for a power drill.

Nulens works great. Used my battery operated drill with the sand paper provided. Follow the very easy instructions. Very happy with the results.

I dont polish anything to speak of. I bought this to hopefully put a more refined edge on my knife when using the green polishing compound. Honestly I found this to be a waste of time and get much better results with just a stropping block w/green compound to finish an edge.

But the wheel itself seems to made nicely, it seems like it will put up with a beating and my blade did look like it was shining up a bit. But I didnt spend an over abundance of time messing with it before I found it to be a less than I hoped for and more hassle than it was worth for my needs.

However, I do think you’d be much better off with a bench grinder and buffing wheel over this if you have it. Drill doesnt spin near as fast as a bench grinder. I suppose this would be of use on big objects or in tight areas where a bench grinder isnt an option.

I have purchased many tools from Harbor freight, 99 % of the time they are good products. Picked this up to try some minor polishing on a Viking horn. Applied the compound and applied pressure it came apart like a ball of yarn hit by a ball bat.

Don’t waste your time and money.

Some of the aftermarket tools I’ve bought for the Dremel and clones have been just plain JUNK! These buffers, however, are IMHO BETTER than the originals, by a lot. They are far more indestructible, and actually hang together for me until they wear down to nothing, which takes a good long while.

I wish they would include the narrow 1/8″ thick large buffer wheel, though, as it is useful at times for getting into narrow places. All around, an excellent buy. a bag like this lasts me several months, using them sometimes several hours a day to refurbish typewriters and other small polishing jobs.

Overall they work pretty good. You have to be carefull with them especially the conicaql ones as they are a little week out toward the end. They could really use a longer screw in stem support as the ends break off with much pressure.

And the large round ones work best if you use a tool that runs a small bolt through. they tend to turn on the supplied screw arbor. But overall once you overcome these issues they do work pretty good and as I expected them to.

These various polishing pads are perfect for polishing the bolt and friction surfaces on firearms to a mirror surface. Know as a “Fluff And Buff,” it greatly improves the performance of any firearm. especially an auto-loading sniper rifle where accuracy is paramount.
