20 Best Wheeled Garment Bag (2022 Updated)

I travel (usually trans con) 2-3 times per month with 4-6 international trips annually. Check luggage about half the time. My old version of this bag was a workhorse and just wore out after several hundred trips.

Repaired the telescoping handle, added on some home-made zipper pulls after the others finally broke, until clear it was finally time to move on. This bag is similar in capacity. Holds a suit, a couple shirts, dress shoes, running clothes, and ancillaries.

Pairs nicely with my Tumi garment bag for longer trips. It fits every United plane from 737 up, but needs to be checked for regional jets. 4 wheels changes everything as I can wheel it down the aisle in the airplane to 21C where I usually sit.

With only 2 wheels on my old bag, had to carry by hand. Pockets (internal and external) are good sizes and I’ve learned to organize around them. There are lighter bags on the market, but I’ve been happy with the durability and security of this one.

I got this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. He had the previous model with 2 wheels and this is markedly better because now the handle is long enough for his height and he can wheel it sideways down airplane aisles.

Same great Tumi quality.

Got the bag a few days ago. Tried it out this past weekend. Really like it so far, plenty of room for everything from shoes to being able to put a toiletries bag in one of the compartments. Hopefully, will continue to a good product.

I was pleasantly surprised with this piece of luggage. It seems well made and survived it’s first flight. My only concern at first was that the handle extension is a little flimsy and wobbly. However it’s still in one piece so I am very pleased with my purchase.

The rolling feature is so convenient & the luggage itself is sturdy enough to stack a carry-on piece on top & wheel them together.

This was a replacement for a previous one I’ve had for years. A little large for carry on but perfect for our weekend getaways. Lots of room with hanging space for my blouses and short dresses or skirts.

I can pack several outfits, plus extra pair shoes and makeup all in one bag.

I absolutely love that Briggs and rylie stand behind their products! They have a lifetime warranty and will replace your bag if it’s unable to be fixed. I’ve had mine for 6 years with no issues. I am a hardcore traveler so this bag is perfect!.

It is a good quality suitcase with a lot of space with compartments to keep the garments or articles you want well. I love the quality of the suitcase, it has good wheels that will not leave you bad on the trip.

They come in different colors and sizes.

I have several different kinds of luggage including another smaller Swissgear bag. But I wanted one to pack a tux or an extra suit on flights without having to check a bag. This one is lightweight and well constructed.

It manages to fold a suit in half in a protective envelope without crushing it completely. It has several well placed compartments for all your accessories. The only problem with this bag is it is slightly larger than the standard size carry on allowed by most airlines.

Approximately 1 – 2 inches depending on which airline you choose, so an overly vigilant gate attendent or flight crew may give you a problem if they notice.

I bought this because I needed a smaller second piece of luggage. I already own a Swissgear backpack and thought a small piece of luggage would be just what I needed for an upcoming trip. This piece of luggage arrived and I couldn’t be happier.

It’s exactly what I needed. I love it. It has all of these cool little compartments and it’s the perfect overnight bag, long weekend, or smaller piece of luggage. I’m very happy with it.

I bought mine at Target years ago and have taken it all across the country. First: very sturdy construction. You can feel it in the handle and the wheels. The garment section keeps suits tidy and I find slipping a piece of cardboard in the sleeves keeps them flat and folded in.

And a vacuum bag with 3 dress shirts fits right inside the bottom flap when you fold it up. The handle rails in the bottom section does stick into the middle but I can fit shoes in between sideways. I would like to see hanger “clamp” redesigned like the Sampsonite suit carrier so I can use thicker plastic hangers.

And some organizer pockets on the inside of the front pocket flap would make this ideal! I hope to use this luggage for many many years!.

I received this dance duffle for my honest review. Awesome design! Tough exterior! Several compartments! Tons of pockets! Easy assembly! We love it! I would definitely recommend this dance duffle!

Great bag for the price! Glad I bought this bag vs the $400 dollar dance bags because my daughter stopped dancing a year after this purchase. She had to decide sports orr dance. Very sad to see her stop but bag was awesome to use for comps and recitals.

This bag does hold quite a bit and I feel it’s very sturdy.

I’m quite excited about MAUBERT 24: 2W Duffel bag. Firstly, I do like the color. The material is water resistant and would be easy to wipe away liquids. The zippers glide easily. The pull handle pops up without any difficulty.

There are some pockets along the outside. There is long pocket along the side of the bag, I partially wish this pocket was divided into two pockets so I could use the pockets as compartments to separate some smaller items.

There is an additional pocket along the flap (top) of the bag. I could see this as good bag for a short trip.

The heathered grey color is understated and suited for everyone. I got the 24′ Maubert 2. 0 2W Duffle. The material is lightweight and can be wiped clean. It containes recycled materials and vegan leather.

I was impressed with the zippers. they are SECURITECH and are strong. I liked the outside mesh zippered pocket. Inside the bag is very roomy, empty it weighs 12 lbs. Contains 4 pockets , 1 that is RFID and Includes a 3 year warrenty.

I’ve only had send it a couple of times, but the materials seem good, the bag is roomy and rolls well. The handle seems a little fragile, but may hold up. The zippers seem solid and seem to work well.

I do a lot of Extra/Background work in the Movie Industry! You have to take several outfits to the set and this rolling garment bag works great for that!

This was the perfect bag to take for the elegant nights on a cruise. Room for 3 suits, and 3 shirts. The shirts had little to no wrinkles as well as the suits The slots for shoes are a pleasant surprise and the fact it had wheels made it more convenient.

The hanger clip is metal, and it was so nice that the hangers stayed in place. I would recommend this bag because of the quality and value.

I don’t normally use a bag of this size but it proved useful on our latest vacation. The ability to load hangers at both ends allowed for much more clothing. I wish I saw that the cushioned mid strap was detachable so we didn’t have to snake clothes under it, but it is and future use will be much easier.

The corner and cover pockets keep loose items organized. This is not the bag to use for smaller trips or living out of your suitcase because it is so large and when it lies open you need a bed or floor to fully open it.

No hotel luggage caddy will fit it when open Of course, if you packed a garment bag with hanging clothes I guess you would typically find a place to hang your clothing on arrival. Quality is the usual high standard you can expect from Travelpro.

I do like the two wheel luggage because I see too many people tip their 4 wheel spinners over when hitting the slightest change in floor height, and this bag can be heavily packed. Disclosure: I got this from Travelpro for participating in their review program and would not normally have ordered it.

I would certainly get their suitcases and will use this now that I have it and see what it is capable of.

The compartments are super smart and well planned. Garments arrived wrinkle free. The wheels have been poorly designed on this bag. Since it’s extra wide, you need to flip the bag to the narrow side to navigate an airplane aisle.

All this needs are 4 way rotating wheels and this bag wins.

I do like this garment bag. It’s got plenty of room for your clothing. There are lots of messed pockets to hold extra goodies. There is a huge spacious pocket in front. The wheels are really sturdy, I dragged this bag in my gravely parking lot, and they glide along, smoothly.

Only wish, it could do some swiveling. Bonus here, my clothes came out the bag, wrinkle free. I love that! I even packed two pairs of shoes. I like the look of this bag, it’s not overly bulky. The bag is in black, it’s simple, but still looks stylish.

I can’t wait to travel again.

When traveling nothing is worse then not having enough space or having to carry your luggage. This wheeled garment bag, has not only a handle which slides out nicely, but it has wheels. So you can tilt and walk effortlessly! That was the biggest thing that caught my eye.

What put the icing on the cake was the fact that there is so much room for everything you need. Also inside there is a removable hanger hook. You can slide through the loop and hang up in say the hotel room closet.

The material is very durable, and very well thought out. I have to say overall I am very happy with it. Tried finding a flaw but just couldn’t.

I absolutely love this product! It is the perfect size. I love that there are compartments that separate everything. This is the first time that I buy the garment style bag. I am really happy with this bag. I go to a lot of conferences so I need to take my suite everywhere. This garment is really well designed to carry the suite shoe and many other essential accessories.

The quality is great as well. The size is large so you need to check in the bag. I highly recommend to try this out if you need to travel with your suite or dress.

Some of the best discoveries happen by accident. I had a one week notice to be on the other side of the planet for a meeting. I travel extensively, 10 to 15 hour flights are a common occurrence for me.

For years I’ve looked for that perfect garment bag, that I could take on board with me, and that could hold enough clothes so I wouldn’t need to wait in some baggage claim area. Something that would allow me to pack my suits as well a few pieces of casual wear.

When I discovered the Travelpro web site, after using “best garment bag” as a search phrase, Travelpro came up first. Naturally I clicked on it. I felt convinced enough to give them a try. I ordered my garment bag, they expedited it, and it arrived in time.

So far so good. When I opened up the box, I was pleasantly surprised and more than impressed with the quality and the design. It truly is one of kind design when it comes to garment bags. It held two suits, four business shirts, three pair of casual pants, toiletries.

A weeks worth of business stocks, and underwear, and I had room for my day planner, plus a tablet and a laptop in that roomy front pocket. It clearly looks like a quality bag, because while standing at the ticketing counter, a fellow traveler, total stranger asked how I liked my bag.

Now, when was the last time anyone asked you how you liked your luggage? Bonus: It fit in the overhead of even the smallest of Americans Airlines planes.

I bought this bag after being impressed with a laptop Travelpro bag. While the Maxlite® 5 Bi-Fold Hanging Garment Bag is light weight and the outer features are durable – the inside is another matter.

The inside zippers are smaller, and appear to me to be delicate. This choice likely to save weight and cost. I can see the bag closure zipper failing after a few trips – closure zipper should be robust.

If you need to charge $20 more for better zippers then do it TravelPro. I want a bag that is built to last. While the bag survived my first week of travel, it does not seem robust enough to survive 10 trips in my opinion.

Time will tell. Is it a good garment bag? Yes. I expect a great product from this brand.

Bought this to improve upon my last carry-on, as I was tired of massively wrinkled suits. You can fit a huge amount of clothing in this bag. My first trip included one full suit, two pairs of pants, and three long-sleeved dress shirts, with all the usual undershirts, workout clothes, sundries and such, and a pair of dress shoes.

For my size, a stout 6′, the tails of my shirts and suit jackets did fold up, but various straps and covers provided meant that any wrinkles were not creases, and they hung-out easily on arrival, or with just slight bit of ironing work.

Plenty of pockets and a very sturdy handle. The only thing I had to get used to was having only two wheels to work with while rolling, but that’s easy. And it fits nicely in both United and AA baggage sizers with no issue, even fully loaded.

No problems traveling with it as a carry-on though multiple domestic or international flights I’ve taken with it, including Jet and Vistara in India, and Avianca in Central America. I have never need asked to check it based on size, only once based on weight (my packing, not an issue with the bag).

A Word to The Wise I rarely complain about anything, but I recently received a new bifold garment bag as a gift, and the leather shoulder strap pad was defective when I removed the tissue paper it was wrapped in.

The bag seems generally of high quality and because of that I recently purchased a new Trifold to go along with it (I also have another Tumi bag as well). Since the tags all boast of “Lifetime Warranty” I dropped the defective strap off at a Tumi store, and once it was received by customer service, they claimed it was, “Out of Warranty” and offered to charge me $50 to replace it, PLUS $25 to ship it from NJ to NY!! Plus Tax.

Seriously? $80 to replace a defective shoulder strap that should be covered by Tumi’s Lifetime Warranty? I’ve asked them to send it back “as is” but they have not yet responded. Take a look at all the Tumi bags for sale at any auction, all at deep discounts.

There’s a reason — nearly every one has a defective strap, or the bag liners are all crumbling. STAY AWAY. I don’t mind spending four- or five-hundred on a quality bag with lifetime warranty, but I expect any premiere company to stand behind their word.

I’ve now returned the Trifold, and will look elsewhere in the future, since I prefer to purchase luggage from companies who are willing to honor the warranty commitments they pledge to customers. I don’t think this is an unreasonable expectation.

I’ve used a larger Tumi 2-Wheel garment bag since I purchased in in 2008. This new Carry-on 4 Wheel Garment Bag incorporates many of the best features of its much larger older brother, while adding new design details that make using this new bag a pleasure.

I find the addition of the extra 2-wheels to be ideal when rolling the bag through a crowded airport gate and onto the Jetway, and since I always fly either priority or First Class, it sometimes takes some doing to get through the mob.

The maneuverability takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, this becomes the perfect overnight (or two-overnight) travel companion. The garment compartment is a scaled-down yet virtually identical counterpart to that of my larger Tumi 2-Wheel Garment Gag, along with the addition of a modification for long hang items to be folded back into the bag, which I find works just great! Placing things in the outer compartments is a little bit difficult once the bag is packed (they’re tight to get things into), but with such a sleek profile bag, I think that this is to be expected.

At least these several compartments are available for my smaller items. After my 2nd or 3rd trip with this bag, I got it home before I noticed a puncture type hole in the front FXT Ballistic nylon fabric.

I still haven’t any idea how it happened (I’ve never checked the bag). I suspect that another passenger (or flight attendant) may have vigorously moved the bag in making room in the overhead compartment, and the compartment door latch may have torn into the fabric.

I returned the damaged bag to my local retailer who shipped it off to Tumi. Tumi replaced the bag with a brand new one. No questions asked (the bag was still within the one-year warranty), Be sure to get two or four of the Tumi hangers (they come 2 per pack), since they are an absolute must for use with this bag.

I cannot praise it enough. Makes packing and unpacking very easy. Solid construction and excellent wheels means no effort is required when pushing the case around. Great purchase!

Really happy with this purchase. It seems slightly wider and with more depth than the last design. Much preferred and may buy a 3rd one.

Amazing bit of functional kit. Jackets come out of it pressed, better than they went in. That’s quite a trick to pull off!

I’ve been using this size (Medium Trip) Tumi case as my check-in bag for over 20 years. I’ve gone through the two wheeled and purchased the four wheeled Alpha 2 version and honestly I wasn’t going to purchase this Alpha 3 version because the Alpha 2 that I use is fine and functions well, but when I saw the little improvements over the Alpha 2, I had to have it.

First of all the integrated lock is what I have always been asking for with the Alpha line. Tumi had that clam shell style integrated lock before but it was available only in the carry-on size or the smaller size check-in bag, which was too small for my needs.

I don’t know if TSA agents hate the Tumi locks, but I have had so many of the Tumi locks gone missing after I checked the bag in (especially when flying through LAX!!!) The cost of replacing the lock can quickly add up.

My wife and son are fans of the other brand with the aluminum case that starts with “R” and all their bags have integrated locks and they have no issues with missing locks. BUT having compared the two brands of bags in use all the time, I could not give up the convenience of my Tumi bags.

even if they are bland black nylon bags. But I digress. This size is perfect for attending a week long conference or meetings. I can easily pack two suits and a sports coat, two extra trousers and five shirts on one side and squeeze in two pairs of shoes along the corners.

The other side I can pack chinos, sweaters, underwear, gym clothoes dopp kit etc. I can pretty much stuff it and get it close to being over-weight (I get extra weight allowance though. so. ) a bigger bag would probably not be a good choice to keep the check-in weight in check.

But having said that, the static weight of this bag is a bit on the heavy side, just look at all the zippers on this thing. I’m sure they add up! They are getting easier to spot on the carousel admist the sea of colorful polycarbonate bags now!.

We owned 3 of the 2 wheel versions where you could zip out all of the interior garment covers and interior pieces and have been searching for years for them to produce 4 wheel versions the same. We use carryons with packing cubes and need the whole space unobstructed.

You can fold the divider of both sections back, but there are a lot of pieces that take up valuable space. I just want a case where you can open it and the entire carryon interior is open space. i prefer the old version of the straps that held the contents down which were just long straps that expanded quite a bit.

More recent versions have triangle fabric with short straps sewn to the fabric which makes the total extension not as long. My son has this carryon also. He recently traveled abroad and found he could far less in the case with all the obstructions than our 2 wheel Alpha version.

Can Tumi not make a 4 wheel version that is durable with the ballistic nylon that opens not in the middle but opens more towards the one end like the old versions so your items do not fall out when you open like the ones that open in the middle? It does expand, but not as much as the 2 wheel version.

The Merge style that Tumi created actually had more interior open space, but we returned 3 of them after the exterior fabric would ripple. But we liked the function of the Merge better, but Tumi needed to fix the problem with the fabric.

I am in the middle on my recommendation for it. By the way, we are long time Tumi purchasers and have found the service for Tumi has diminished in the last few years where we have looked to other brands.

This is a well-designed suitcase with practical compartments. The best part about it are the spinning wheels as it moves nicely even over airport carpet. This newer model features a locking system, which is clunky looking and not necessary for travel.

I ordered this from Bloomingdales initially and it arrived completely locked, with no way of opening it — which was a bit of a hassle to return. I exchanged it for an unlocked one and it arrived quickly and undamaged.

I like it so much that I have make the Workhorse 30” Rolling Duffel the perfect gift at any occasion. The first one I bought a few years ago was just $50. 00. This last purchase was more expensive but, considering it purpose and functionality I looked to the other side and bought it, anyway.

I really hope the cost won’t keep increasing.

I purchased this for my cricuit Machine. The official Cricuit tote costs about twice to 3x more!. This one is very study and provides protection for the machine as well as room to store some supplies.

although my machine will be on a slant when rolling it, it still beats lifting it and carrying it.

We purchased this duffel bag for our senior boys on the basketball team. It was a good value and something that the boys can take to college with them. The quality is good for the price. The only negative is that it does not stand upright on its own.

First – I don’t think this bag is eligible as a carry on. Check the overall dimensions with your airline prior to bringing it through security. Second – this bag is AMAZING. The zippers and stitching are HIGH quality.

I’m not sure how many hanging garments it advertises – but I was able to fit enough clothes for a week long trip to Montana (in October) just in this bag. I stored 9-10 hanging garments. A sport coat, 2 jackets, a dress shirt, and a few flannels.

There are two compartments are the top corners of the bag to store smaller items (this is where you’ll find the hooks to hang the bag in the closet). There are several zippered pockets to store pants, socks, under garments, flip flops, etc.

I was able to store clean clothes in one compartment and reserve another for dirty clothes. I can’t rave enough about this bag. I partner this bag along with a backpack, check the Silhouette, and make traveling so much easier.

Honestly, this bag is really cool. It glides across the floor, has TONS of pockets (pockets for dayssss) and is very well designed. Not only do you have a bag for your garment, you have pockets and slots where you have room for any accessories you want to take with you, jewelry, makeup, belts, collared shirts, all of that.

Perfect for very formal events, formal nights on a cruise, weddings, etc. Seriously wish I had somewhere that I needed to take this for an event! The only complaint that I have about this is that sometimes the zipper can be a little finnicky, but I can totally deal with that for everything this bag has to offer.

Love the Silhouette 17 Spinner Garment Bag. I wish that you would make a taller version to accommodate women’s dresses. Hartmann made a limited edition larger garment bag years ago and I will be your first customer if you make a larger version of the Silhouette!.

Pros: This thing is huge. And heavy. And it costs more than the first new car I ever bought. But it holds a lot. Two hangars on opposite sides for suits, pants, dress shirts etc. Inside zipper compartment under the hanger part big enough for some folded stuff or three pairs of shoes (how I use it).

Numerous exterior compartments, mainly flat but some expand out enough for shoes. Plenty of smaller compartments all over the bag. I suppose you could take a moderately lengthy trip with just this bag, but you might find difficulty if you carry a lot of toilet articles, medications etc.

If you filled every compartment you d be holding a lot of stuff. You might not be able to lift the bag with all of it, but it has four spinner wheels so you can roll it along on four wheels or pull out the handle and tow it on two.

Again, it s BIG. Definitely not a carry-on bag. Cons: Size and capacity have pluses and minuses.

This is my 4th piece of Tumi luggage and is just as great as all my others. The larger size with additional storage compartments is perfect for longer business trips or vacations. I can easily get a week’s worth of clothes, including a change of shoes, along with everything else I need stowed and easily accessible in this single bag.

And little details like the integrated TSA lock and various smaller thoughtfully located pockets make things very convenient. Throw a carry-on backpack over the handle and I’m all set for the week. I will say it’s easy to make this bag pretty heavy due to the size and capacity.

But I don’t view this as a downside since the 4 wheels make for smooth and easy travel to and from the airport. Overall a fantastic bag that will carry everything needed for that week long trip!.

I put the suitcase in the Frontier and Spirit personal item size boxes. It had to be squeezed into the Frontier box, and the wheels stuck out above about a half inch, but the gate agent said it was ok as a personal item.

I put it under an aisle seat both sideways and lengthwise and it did stick out a bit into my foot area, but flight attendants did not say anything. Fits best sideways. For Spirit, it easily fit into their personal item box.

I wish Frontier had the same size box as Spirit. For my 15. 6″ laptop, it did not fit into the case, but it did fit into the suitcase, barely. I did not have the suitcase 100% full, so my laptop fit, and I could squeeze it into the Frontier personal item box.

(I had a really hard time getting the suitcase out of the box, though). Overall, it is a good personal item sized suitcase.

Heavier, empty, than the one I’m replacing it with. I have my doubts whether it truly Will work on the handle of my small regular carry on suitcase, w/o pulling that one over. Keeping it because it has spinner wheels, will carry what I need in my carryon, & has the USB port, but I’ll still need my own battery! The understated I’ve had does Not have spinner wheels, making it very difficult to navigate aisles w/o picking it up, but I do have an easy to carry, slip board that allowed me to keep several things plugged in, with my own battery.

So, I’ve gained spinner wheels, & a band to slip over the handle of my other carry on bag. But, I’ve Also gained alot of weight, compared to the one I’m replacing. Both bags hold the same amount. But, this new one will be Very Heavy, packed! Too much of a hassle to return, & I bought for abt half its original price.

I won’t be flying again, until After Covid is under control, so the rest will take awhile to determine.

I thought I was getting a carry on type of bag and it turns out that this was much larger than expected. I was going to return it but I had a trip coming up for a convention where I always come back with more than I leave with.

SO I decided to keep it and give it a try. So I pulled it out of the simple box it was shipped in. I guess Samsonite feels if their bags can handle going through the airport a simple box is enough for shipping.

This arrived with damage to the box but the bag inside was still pristine. Thank you Samsonite for not using unnecessary packing materials that would just go to a landfill. I must admit I felt a little challenged when I went to open the luggage as the bottom part of the luggage (by the wheels is actually the top part of the luggage when you are packing.

You unzip it so it folds all the way out and then you are presented with what looks like no place to put anything. Easily corrected as there is a full zip of that flap I was looking at and it has a space for EVERYTHING! It has room for about 10 hangers, has a mid way strap to hold things in and the bottom has a fold over flap for the bottom part of what is hanging.

In that flap you have room for two pairs of shoes or electronics or whatever you want to put in it. The flap that pulls out also has three zip up compartments for the rest of your clothes that are not hanging.

You also have the two customary side pockets on either side of the hangers. I had more room than I needed. What was the total joy of this was the balance in the design. I had about 50 pounds worth of stuff in this bag and when I pulled up the variable height handle and started to walk with the loaded bag it seemed almost as light as it did when it was empty.

Pushing this around with all four wheels on the ground is the way to go. I am used to doing the tilt with two wheels which also works but once you do that you do realize that you are towing 50lbs. As expected I came back with far more than I left with and all of my newly acquired stuff found a place in the bag without any problems.

Since it is basically a soft bag you can shuffle things around. I’ve only taken this on one trip thus far. It still looks new. About the only thing that was missing on this bag is that there wasn’t a luggage tag.

Maybe it is hidden somewhere inside but I didn’t find one.
