20 Best Whey Casein Blend (2022 Updated)

We are very pleased with this pro protein powder. We’ve tried a lot of protein powders and this is one of the best. The taste is excellent and mixes well with milk or water. There’s no grainy texture and it doesn’t leave an aftertaste in your mouth like some other brands do.

I have been using this product for a while now and love it! The vanilla flavor is really good and it mixes easily with water or milk. The protein content is high, making it a great choice if you’re looking for a post-workout snack or drink.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good source of protein.

Being a consumer of several Muscle Feast quality products, I recently bought the Oats & Whey powder for my teenage son as dietary supplement. From a young age, he developed an eating disorder, so the repertoire of foods he will eat has steadily declined over the years.

After conferring with Sean, I purchased the Oats & Whey for its high protein and carb content in an effort to provide a quality dietary supplement while he’s away at college. We received the product a couple of weeks ago, and to my surprise, he has been consistent with his daily shake.

As with most foods, he’s not thrilled about drinking it, but it has nothing to do with the shake, but more to do with his eating issues. (It is worth noting that there is a fairly noticeable flavor and texture of oats, so if you don’t like Cheerios, this may not be the product for you.

The ingredients are super clean, the company is great with responsive customer support and they answer questions promptly. All products are 3rd party tested, no fillers, clean sources of the protein.

I like everything that the company represents. Specifically about this product, my body likes this protein. I don’t get bloating and gas like I get from other supplements. The only cons are that the taste is average and it doesn’t mix very well.

There are no clumps but it feels powdery even after shaking well with a shaker bottle. However, I can’t in good conscience remove a star for that because Muscle Feast is doing really well keeping harmful artificial sweeteners out, using grass-fed hormone free cow’s milk.

Those are more important for me, and I don’t want those principles to be sacrificed just for taste. A good analogy is – green vegetables don’t taste the best but we have to eat ’em for good health.

My son uses this to cook so many of his healthy foods with. He loves it only the last 8 purchases we wondered why it went from $39 to over $55 bucks plus or including tax. We are now going to stop buying from here due to the inflation and go with another product.

Sad because we were an every 2 day buyer of this product. Like I said my son loves to be healthy and make healthy yet bad for you looking treats so we stick to healthy over junk. He is 17 and so into this product abd whey protien that he has taught himself so many cool ways to cook.

Bake, and use this. Sad to have to go somewhere else for it.

I’ve been using this product for almost 5 years and it was the best casein I’ve ever tasted. Up untill the latest redesign of the product. The label is just a bit different so it’s not that obvious, but as soon as you open the box you can notice a completely different product inside.

_x000d_ _x000d_ The powder is no longer a bit ‘grainy’, but smooth like wheat powder. The smell is almost the same. The old product you could mix it just with a spoon easily. In milk or water. Now with the new product it’s almost impossible.

I’m getting into making my own ice cream and tried with their whey protein powder with almond milk. Something just always seemed off. I decided to try it using casein because I heard casein has a thicker consistency and omg! Game changer! The mix was nice, creamy and thick! With the whey, it seemed watery and the taste was a little off.

With this, I honestly could not tell that it was protein powder. I let my husband taste the ice cream and he thought I bought it! Absolutely delicious. Who knew ice cream good be so healthy and taste so good!.

Not sure where people say this tastes nasty but the vanilla and cappuccino taste fabulous. I’m a person that has IBD and no issues at all with this brand. The best way to describe the vanilla taste is comparison to a vanilla milkshake from McDonald’s.

It doesn’t taste fake and is not gritty. I mix mine with unsweetened almond milk. The cappuccino flavor tastes like an iced cappuccino. Same thing not gritty and doesn’t taste like the fake sugar stuff.

On their site you can order some trial packs to try flavors. I highly suggest that.

Ascent protein is top notch. I’ve tried endless amount of protein powders but most have chalky textures, weird tastes, and sometimes cause upset stomachs. I’m so glad I found Ascent – it blends amazingly even with just water (I use oat milk to make it extra creamy), and I’ve never experienced any amount of the powder not dissolving.

Not to mention all flavors are excellent, by far the best I’ve tried. No flavor is overwhelmingly sweet and all taste amazing. It’s more expensive that what you traditionally may be used to for protein, but it’s 100% worth it.

I’ll never go back to anything else.

I tried this out as a recommendation from my GI doctor. Tried out the plant-based version and I’m sorry Ascent folks but it tastes too fake for me in flavor with that chalky aftertaste. It also caused me alot of stomach discomfort.

I ordered some samples of the vanilla bean regular Whey protein isolate formula and WOW. it tastes just like a vanilla bean milkshake! I mixed mine with 8oz of unsweetened almond milk. I have IBD UC so it’s really important for me to find something that will not upset my gut.

The fact that this is gluten-free as well is a plus! I tried the sample packs a few days in a row and no upset stomach, gas, or feeling bloated. I’m not lactose intolerant but I do limit how much I take in just in case.

If you are on the fence between both formulas, order some sample packs to see what does best for you. you’d be surprised!.

Good protein powder to drink before bed. Do not mix with milk! It make lumpy and too thick, only mix with water it all you need for this. I use a scoop with water before bed to help with the gain weight and it working well.

Tastes fine, mixes well with water and use more or less depend on how thick you like. I like it a little thicker, so it fill up belly a little more and keep me satiate not wake up in middle of night hunger and raid fridge and eat something I probably shouldn’t.

If you try to put on weight it good to have this before bed, for me it help great, I have putting on weight slower which is better than put on weight too fast and gain mostly fat, and if you not the type that can just eat all day, maybe try this and have a couple shakes between meal to get in the calories and protein.

So if you lift heavy enough and frequent enough, but still having tough time putting on weight, try have this shake before bed to help muscle recover and grow. And can’t beat the price! Very good value.

Pros: No carbs, no fat. I wish that ,my zero carb whey protein maker made a casein protein powder, but alas, they do not. All the other casein proteins has at least some carbs or fat. The whole reason I use protein powder is because I want pure protein that doesn’t have those things.

This one at least fits the bill, and it is tolerable otherwise. Cons: The flavor and consistency are not great. I have had other casein powders that were better on both fronts. If you have a protein shaker cup, it will mix well.

But, even afterward, it is excessively chalky. The flavor isn’t great either. It isn’t disgusting, by all means, but it is strong and not great. I mix it 1:2 with my whey protein, but the flavor of this still overpowers it.

The price is right, though, and being no carb, no fat, I will probably buy it again until I find another brand that is the same but that is not outrageously priced.

I purchased my Casein Protein three weeks ago, and I’m glad I did. Since my purchase I been taking it 4 days a week to build muscle. And I can see the difference in my muscles, alot more firmer and stronger.

My overall physical health has improved and also my mental health has improved. I went to being fatigued at times to having alot more energy. I went from forgetting some things to remembering everything.

And that is due to the Casein Protein. I knew I needed the Casein Protein and it has made a huge difference in my life.

It’s very tolerable for a casein protein powder, but when it comes to the quality of taste it’s not comparable to the gold standard that is Optimum Nutrition 100% casein. For what it may lack in terrific taste and palatability it makes up for in gains (if you consume it according to your specific protein intake requirements while following a well-designed fitness and nutrition program that utilizes princples such as progressive overload and periodization).

Buy it and drink it, and keep making those gains ladies and gentleman :).

As always delivery was quick from BEC. Good product that mixes well and tastes good. Disappointed that it contained sucralose – would love it if BEC would offer more protein products without artificial sweeteners.

I have only tried this flavor (being a chocolate lover), but I have tried several Syntrax products and have been pleased with all of them. I am satisfied with the nutritional content, the energy it gives me, the taste, and the economical value.

I am a repeat customer of this product. The product description says “Micellar Creme mixes instantly with a spoon, has a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and tastes just like a real milkshake. ” I would say all that is true, except I have found that the mixing does need a little more than a spoon to really mix well.

I initially mix using a small whisk in an open shaker bottle and then finish with a couple of shakes of the closed bottle, and then it is fine. 5 stars for this product. As far as the All Star Health company, they are a fantastic US company, and I have been very pleased with their prices, the ordering process, prompt customer service, and quick shipping.

All around great experience every time I order. I highly recommend them. 5 stars for All Star as well.

This is truly as described. It mixes smoothly with a spoon. I can blend it. I can use a shaker ball. But it doesn’t require anything but a spoon to mix. It’s not chalky or gritty like other brands and it keeps you full a lot longer to minimize the urge to snack.

I’m a bariatric patient and I drink one before bed so I can sleep soundly and not wake up hungry.

I tried this expecting it to have that after taste that most brands have and I was pleased with the flavor! I loved the flavor is so good! It really makes you think you’re enjoying a regular chocolate milkshake.

I do recomment it 100%!.

This has got to be the best Protein Powder for the money that you can possibly buy. Besides that, it is just a good Protein Powder and has an excellent taste. I am very impressed with it and would highly recommend this company and don’t mind saying that.

You won’t get a better casein product than this top quality. Really good tasting too especially ice cold. Useful before bed and times when you may go long periods without food e g a long trip. Added Zinc and Magnesium helps with taking this before bed.

Having read reviews of this product and being impressed with other products by optimum nutrition, I thought I would buy this product. I instinctively bought this product because I managed to pick it up for an unbeatable price and I needed a casein protein for non workout days before I sleep.

I haven’t used this product for very long, although the first thing I noticed was that this product doesn’t blend at all as well as whey protein and the texture is a lot more thick and for a smooth consistency, a blender is required.

The taste was also not as good as other shakes by optimum nutrition and various brands, although taste isn’t my biggest concern. What I am interested in, is the results. As of yet, I haven’t seen any significant results although I haven’t used this supplement long enough to be able to come to a conclusion.

I have spoken to friends and my PT in particular, who uses this protein and he has seen remarkable results over the months of dedicated usage and training. This is a supplement which is highly recommended and for the price I paid for this product, it was a ‘no brainer’.

This isn’t ideal for people who take taste into deep consideration, but if you find this at the right price then it is a good supplement if you are looking for a speedy recovery after training days and in a pursuit to increase muscular size and strength.

I’m sure there are better casein protein powders on the market, but if you find this for under 75p per serving, go for it!!.

I’ve tried eight flavors now. Chocolate supreme is definitely my favorite, tastes like a combo of Nesquik and a chocolate snack pack. Banana Cream, Cookies and Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip were all solid.

Banana Cream tastes as it should, like banana cream. Cookies and Cream tastes as it should, like cookies and cream (maybe a tad bit weak flavor wise). Mint Chocolate Chip has a close taste to the ice cream, could use more chocolate though.

Both vanillas were equal. Chocolate Peanut Butter tastes like roasted peanuts, not terrible, just not great. Stay away from the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, worst flavor by far. As for texture/mix, it is a thicker/different texture compared to whey protein, but that’s understandable and not unbearable.

In fact, I recently switched to a different brand of casein to try for a while and when I came back to ON I had to check the tub to make sure it was casein, because it tasted so good (maybe it was just a good tub, or maybe the other brand was that bad).

I generally mix 1 scoop of protein with 10-12oz of water. Oh, and minimal clumps (seems to depend on flavor/tub at that time).

I have given this product 5 stars because I have tried other brands and they were either full of fillers and additional ingredients or I had side effects. I did much research before contemplating another collagen product as I am hypersensitive with many ingredients and medications and although this brand is more expensive than others it is excellent.

It is important when choosing collagen that it is hydrolysed as it is better absorbed into the body. The recommended serving size is 2 scoops daily but due to my hypersensitivity I started with a half scoop.

It mixes well with hot water and I usually add some prune juice as although it is unflavoured there is still a taste. I was suffering with nightly hip pain that was affecting my sleep and as I cannot take any pain relief medications I was feeling very miserable.

I decided to try it as many support groups in the UK and USA had been talking about collagen and how good it was for bones and as I had recently been diagnosed with Osteoporosis I was anxious to find something that might aid towards my recovery.

Within one week all the pain in my hip had gone and I was sleeping better. I also noticed that the pain around my spinal fractures had eased too. I have vertical ridges in my nails and I had been taking Biotin for those but I have given that up in favour of Collagen Peptides as I noticed the ridges on the nails of my index fingers have disappeared.

The other discovery was the hair at the base of my neckline has grown 8 inches in 3 months! I cannot comment on the results for skin as I have good skin anyway. (There is a scoop included in the container but it is often buried at the bottom of it).

I have recommended this product to many people and as my mobility has improved because the pain has gone I highly recommend this product. The outcome is; I am still only taking a half scoop daily which means this product lasts much longer than expected and when the price is factored into that it is actually a very good buy.

I gave this protein 4 Stars because of 1. perfect amount of sweetness, 2. flavor, 3. keeping me full (which i corelate with the amount of protein in one serving). I use this protein powder as a meal replacement.

I add it to my morning coffee and treat it basically as my breakfast until I eat something additional later in the morning. It works pretty good for me that way. I usually have it by 0830-0900 and it holds me over (most of the time) until almost noon (unless I had a hard workout the night prior).

It did curb my morning snacking that I was doing before so it is helping me maintain healthier eating habits. It also doubles my daily protein intake that I would not otherwise meet on daily basis. I am usually not a fan of chocolate but this chocolate flavor appears to be working for me (a big suprise!).

I originally tried the Vital Proteins Collagen Whey Protein Dark Chocolate & Coconut Water, that I inherited from a friend and was able to purchase only about two more canisters before it was discontinued.

I am VERY sad about that. I loved that flavor (HUGE SUPRISE). I was very apprehensive when I had to switch to the current Chocolate flavor formula. Although not as good as the first one, I appreciate the chocolate flavor WITHOUT the overwhelming artificial sweetness that was often present in other collagen protein (such as Ancient Protein).

As for the collagen benefits of the formula, i don’t really see much difference. My joints don’t hurt less (nor more) than before I started using it, my mobility remains the same, no other effects on hair, skin, or nails (that collagen supposedly has a good effect on), and I do not see any effect on my workouts or my recovery time.

However that being said, I am not training for anything specific and my workouts are only as challenging as i am willing to make them each day.

Every protein I’ve ever purchased in the past has been. terrible. Chalky, chunky/foamy when blended, and flavours that don’t leave anyone wanting more. This stuff changed my mind. It’s not chalky, the flavours are all good (if not great!), and they consistently blend well without retaining chunks or becoming overly foamy (for the most part).

(Note: I only blend with water) I’ve tried a few of the flavours at this point: – Vanilla Bean – 9/10 – It’s vanilla. The prototypical protein flavour. They do it well – Banana Cream – 7/10 – It reminds me of “banana milk” (like chocolate/strawberry milk mix).

It’s not bad but that banana flavour is pretty artificial and I am not a huge fan. Also found it became quite foamy if you weren’t careful when mixing. – Cinnabun – 7. 5/10 – It’s the least sweet of all the flavours I’ve tried to date, more mild and cinnamon-ey (without being too much).

Blends the best overall, but not a flavour I prefer. – Lemon Meringue – 10/10 – This is my go to flavour. It balances sweet and tart very well without being too much of either. Every time I order I will buy one of these plus another flavour to try out.

This Vanilla flavor – protein has everything I look for, from having Whey, Casein, & Egg is just perfect for me. I’m giving this a 5 star not just for that reason, but also taste when I blend it in a electric blender adding almond milk and either frozen, or fresh fruit or even chocolate flavor nestle quick makes it a perfect protein shake.

It taste creamy and comes out thick as well. I’m going to have to now buy the 4lbs tub going forward cuz I’ve been adding 2 scoops in my morning shake and post workout shake as well.

I will be the first to say that lemon meringue pie as a protein flavour sounds a little weird. Maybe because I typically stick to vanilla flavoured protein as I find its the most versatile to cook with, make smoothies with or simply just have in a shaker with water.

Let me just say this flavour is AMAZING. blows any protein powder out of the water, I basically consider this a treat. Blends easily in a shaker with water, is awesome in smoothies, and I’ve even made protein pancakes out of it.

all amazing. For reference I’ve tried smores, chocolate mint, chocolate, vanilla, birthday cake (imo awful), and chocolate peanut butter and all I would consider average minus birthday cake which I couldn’t even finish.

I like Trutein because its a blend, its grass fed dairy, it blends well and the price is very competitive. I’ve probably tried up to 20 different types of protein brands, three of which were blends similar (trutein, magnum and jym).

Magnum vanilla will probably remain as my go to vanilla protein as a I prefer the nutrition and taste and texture of it compared to Trutein. The only reason why I strayed from it was because I was hoping to find a protein similar for a lower cost.

Jym vanilla probably has the best vanilla flavour I’ve tried but the mix-ability in a shaker with water is painful. Overall this lemon meringue pie is a solid winner and will definitely become a part of my regular protein rotation!.

I take this before bed and it mixes well with almond milk. I’ve only ever tried the chocolate flavour but the vanilla is very good as well. There’s no gritty texture and it doesn’t leave a weird film in your mouth like some other powders do.

This protein is so yum, you can make it as a hot chocolate, add it to your oats. It is so versatile and delicious. Perfect for on the go, or at night before bedtime. Even tastes delicious with just water.

I love BSN Syntha 6! I really enjoy the chocolate one and try to stay away from anything vanilla but because the chocolate and pb flavors were really good, I decided to give this flavor a try. I mix it with almond mix, and it’s super smooth! Definitely smells and tastes like vanilla, not the artificial taste either but I’m not sure what I was thinking or hoping? I like vanilla ice cream, but this didn’t quite hit the spot so just a 3/5.

It’s a little sweet for me but a “healthier” indulgence for anyone who likes the vanilla smoothie taste! BSN Syntha 6 overall is really good!.

I returned to BSN after about a decade of trying out other proteins, most of which tasted awful and turned my guts into garbage, I was this edge variant and decided to give it a go. Not bad at all to be honest.

It was a lot less sweet than I remember and having just one scoop as opposed to the 2 or 3 some brands make you shovel in made this quite palatable. Whilst I don’t train 5-6 days a week like I used to, I lift on average 3 times a week and I’ve noticed no bad side effects.

Whilst it’s not the cheapest and I know modern folk are googling every ingredient under the sun. for the layman who likes to look after himself and not live off the latest fad diet this is a good supplemental protein in my opinion – tuck in.

I just got my first jug of Syntha-6, I wanted to try something new. This has many different proteins and I thought that was good. I am just starting out, and I will follow back with results and digestion later, but I just had my first serving and it was AMAZING!! I like to switch up when taking different supplements, I believe that you need to constantly challenge your body and trick your body (everything in moderation).

That being said, I was blown away by the flavor of Vanilla Ice Cream. Personally, this was the smoothest tasting, and no chalky protein flavor like some have. I believe some aspects of the drink may not be good for you, and certainly are better options out there but this is a must try.

I will be buying this and other flavors, but I wont use every time, because thats my preference. But. I will definitely buy again.

I’ve been reading lots of positive reviews on JYM for some time now and decided to give them a try. I’ve been a loyal BSN guy for over 15 years but lately their products are not in stock for some reason.

I ordered this protein after reading so many good reviews but I can tell you I am not impressed. This protein reminds me of old school protein like Designer or Met-Rx. It doesn’t mix well at all and I was drinking large chunks after using my shaker cup to mix it.

Also, it doesn’t taste good at all. Again, if you been lifting a while like I have, maybe you’ve tasted Designer protein? That’s what it reminds me of. I drank Isopure for about 5 years and it mixes perfectly with a shaker cup.

I jumped over to BSN around 2007 and it tasted delicious and mixes with ease. This JYM is not worth the money in my opinion. I wouldn’t say it’s horrible, but there is definitely better product out there.

I’m not exactly sure why this protein is so highly rated. I purchased the chocolate cookie crunch and have not been able to finish any of the drinks I made. The protein powder makes a frothy texture that is unpleasant to drink.

While the taste is not exactly terrible it is not good. I really wanted to like this product based on all of the good reviews and workouts by the maker. I would no recommend this product. Even with a good profile of ingredients it’s worthless if the drink is undrinkable.

I thought that the emphasis on flavor with these products was just traditional marketing. But having used dozens of protein products before. I’ve never actually been this surprised with how good the flavors really are.

The vanilla actually tastes like vanilla bean ice cream! Other brands have that cardboard, somewhat chalky taste. The rocky road, once again, tastes just like rocky road! Besides the incredible taste, the ease on the digestive system is also a top notch quality I can’t boast enough.
