20 Best White Car Paint (2022 Updated)

Paint can uses an adjustable, swivel nozzle. Shook the can per directions and went to apply paint and the nozzle blew out, essentially leaving me with a garden hose of paint going on to a prepped surface instead of an aerosolized mist.

Globs of uneven paint that had to be resanded adding to the time on project. In addition to the nozzle blowout, the taffeta white paint code for my 06 Honda was not a perfect match. I understand factory paint oxidizes over the years, however, I’m not sure that it would have matched to begin with as it was significantly off.

Color match is near spot on, closer than some ppg or matrix pro colors. However this is Duplicolor which means it shoots out pretty thin, so several coats will be needed. If I were thinking of this to shoot an entire panel, it would cost more in cans than a pro pint and cheap spraygun would cost!.

I had a small area above my sunroof that needed to be painted. I remove any dirt and particles with alcohol wipe. Spray waited a couple of minutes the paint did not run or for form lumps. Perfect I must say I applied 2 coats then use a top coat to finish the job!.

I actually had a can left over that I used on my fire pit cover and it’s the 1st time what I painted it with actually held up through the elements (winter included) and is still fine. This time I bought a 6 pack to paint the bottom supports of my deck (wood) which I’m re-doing (I used the left over can to start the job and wanted it uniform).

Looks great, shipped fast and ZORO had the best price. Would definitely recommend.

Extremely dissatisfied. Color is rather grayish. Creates a lot of drips. Very liquid, Not glossy enough. The worst paint

Sprayed over 15 thin coats on my rims and they haven’t chipped yet. Need at least two cans for a set of 4. A third would’ve gave the rims a glossier finish

Remember when touch up paint was nothing more than fancy nail polish in the way it is applied? Well, even nail polish salons use airbrushes these days leaving vehicle touch-up paint in the dark ages.

Since there’s no mini airbrush included but it does come with a nifty fine point press to paint tip for small chips and scratches. Not quite cat nail scratch thin but definitely will aid in touching up normal paint chips and key scratches.

There’s also the traditional nail polish brush under the paint cap. Included is a ceramic paint chip cleaner which was helpful to loosen any micro cracked paint near the chip. Also the bottom has a foam brush to apply the clear coat making an almost flawless finish.

PROS: paint match was about 95% and ease to apply using the press to paint mini tip. Clear coat to help put back the shine. CONS: not much but I would expect this to dry out no matter how tight I keep the cap on.

The cost was reasonable compared to the one from the dealer but still would rather this to be closer to $12 than $15 OVERALL: if you have some small stone chips, then this is for you!.

This is an absolutely fantastic product, and completely exceeded my expectations. I read the reviews for a number of products and finally settled on this one since it looked like an easy application and came with a clear coat to protect the work. And WOW, it really worked. I sanded the area down just a little bit, and started to apply the paint.

I only needed to apply one coat and it was perfect, completely matching the original paint work. I didn’t even bother doing a second coat of black, it was so perfect. I let it dry for 30 minutes and then applied the clear coat and now you can’t even tell there was any damage to the rims whatsoever.

And I mean that seriously, or I would have said so. You can only tell if your eyeballs are inches from the rims and/or you run your fingers across the surface of the rims and find a small rough patch from the initial scraping.

This stuff is perfect and works 10 times better than some of the crazy home remedies I searched for on YouTube before settling for this product. I’m sure it works just as well on the paint on your car, but for those people who scraped their rims on a curb, this is the perfect solution for you.

My rims have a kind of sheen to them so I went with this Universal Black, which makes it a bit shiny after application. PERFECT!.

The Duplicolor aerosol was the ideal product for the small brackets under my fenders. I didn’t have to do everything necessary just to shot a couple ounces of paint. Kudos!

Perfect color match,. Not enough coverage without orange peel. Good for smaller areas.

It takes a little practice to learn how to lay this paint even for an experienced body man. I had never sprayed matte Urethane before so it took a couple of attempts to acquire a smooth finish. I tiger striped it , ran it and orange peeled it.

I now have 5 coats on my truck bed Lol. Fun adjustment is definitely the most important thing when using this paint. I finally went down to 10 to 12 psi at tip and got the fan setting right ( which is a key factor) also had trouble with getting my fluid flow set right.

But at the end of the day I’m very pleased with the finished product. I used rock moss green which wasn’t dark enough so I added two quarts of black to one gallon of rock moss. One quart would probably been plenty.

It turned out a little darker than I thought it would. But I am very pleased with the outcome and very pleased with Hot Rod Flatz and TCP Global , they are a great co. to deal with. Highly recommend them.

Two wet coats of single stage urethane as instructed produces a very nice finish. I’ve been looking forward to spraying this to match the Hot Rod Red (HRF210) steel wheels for a couple of years. Nice work Custom Shop :).

THE CAN OF PAINT I BOUGHT WAS HALF EMPTY. WHEN I WENT BACK TO BUY ANOTHER CAN I NOTICED IT WAS THE SAME AS THE FIRST. THE COUNTER MAN SHOWED ME THAT THE CAN WAS RUSTY AT THE BOTTOM AND HAD LEAKED OUT THE PRESSURE.

I HAD GONE TO 3 STORES LOOKING FOR THE PAINT (OXFORD WHITE FOR FORD).

The color was a great match. With regard to using the paint, it might have been user error because I’ve never tried to paint a car fender before, but I ended up buying four of these cans of paint and all but one often sprayed out in fairly large splotches rather than a fine mist.

I tried to continuously shake the can and make sure it was well shaken before attempting to paint, but still often got splotches, especially near the end of the can. In the end it looked okay, because I needed a lot of coats to cover a light color.

Also, it is advertised for scratches and chip repairs, and I was painting a whole fender, so again, the issue might have been on my end and not with the product.

The BTY1556 is a spot-on match for the Toyota 040 super white paint code! However, once you get through about 2/3s of the can, it becomes virtually useless. Around that level, it starts spitting and spraying unevenly vs the nice strong, smooth spray from the beginning of the can.

Great color match, but not getting to get full use from the can is disappointing.

This stuff is junk – thin and watery, super streaky, and can see the primer through it after 4 coats. It doesn’t match the car paint exactly either but that’s the least of its problem. It was a waste of time and money using this junk.

I have to go to an autobody place now and have them mix up some paint and see if I can cover over this garbage!.

Nice color match, good price, and readily available. I carefully prepped and primered, waited for perfect weather conditions, and shook the can for two full minutes. The result? Instant orange peel right out of the sprayer.

Faulty nozzle or low pressure in the can? I don’t know. I will have to wet sand and buff it our to salvage this. The price was too good to be true.

Dupli-Color is one of the only mass-produced rattle can makers for this color (PW1), so choices are limited. On the plus side, the color is a very good match, consistent across the various cans I’ve purchased.

On the down side, it is VERY thin and doesn’t coat well before dripping. Very light coats will do the trick over time, but it uses up the paint quickly. So overall, a good color match, but the paint is thin and doesn’t cover great.

I have a 1977 class c motor home, an American Clipper with a Dodge chassis. Im repainting the cab along with the striping. Duplicolor stone white is the closest match to the original shade of white. For rattle can automotive paint it has an excellent spray nozzle and goes on very well provided you shake the can well.

For a diy person, its a great alternative to paying thousands to a paint shop.

I picked up an older sportbike with tons of damage to the fairings. I bondo’d and sanded the stew out of them. Next, I primered & painted them with with Bright Touch Gloss White. After the gray primer set up, I only needed 2 coats of the white! The first was a light coat, next was a full/heavy coat.

Very easy to use. Doesn’t run if used correctly. This is a SUPER STARK WHITE paint! Exactly what I wanted. Not a dull pearl or dingy white. Beautiful. One thick coat of clear and the job was done. EASY and cheap.

This is an amazing product for sturdy applications. I used this on a ATV frame. Complete covering over 2 coats of original POR15. 1st, carburetor cleaner and brake fluid will desolve this product in seconds.

Little frustrated with that. A doing maintenance around this product may be challenging. 2nd. Once you open the can, you better have some cling rap to isolate the lid from can, or some secondary containers to transfer it into.

Once you put that lid back on, your never getting it off. Had to punch a hole in top and transfer remaining product into baby food jars. That worked great. I love the way it covers and flows out.

I have been using POR15 Top Coat in a can using a brush, foam applicator, and spray gun for application. I was pleasantly surprised at Top Coat in a spray can. The spray nozzle on the can allowed the Top Coat material to flow out adequately and consistently, in a decent fan pattern, resulting in no dry areas on the item being coated.

It went on well in mid 60 degree weather conditions, and dried fairly quickly. Wish Top Coat would have been available is spray cans years ago. Now I want to redo all the items i refinished a couple of years ago to improve the final look.

Definitely recommend.

Great color for Gm “Summit White”. Matches perfectly. Did some rust removal on my 2010 impala. After getting the primer , this color and the clear coat. You honestly can’t even tell the difference or that anything was done if done right.

There is a little plug that appears to be in the nozzle when opening it. Please don’t remove it. That’s what makes the paint mist. Without it. You’ll have a mess.

I purchased this product for painting on a vehicle. Sanded, primed, sanded, and was very happy with the work. I opened a can of this paint and CRINGED! I had used paint with a spray nozzle like this before and had a huge problem with these nozzles splattering paint.

I figure “we’ll, maybe duplicolor will be different”. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Exactly what happened before! All of that time and my work wasted with this junk spray can and nozzle. Paint seems to be ok which is the reason it would get one star! Don’t purchase this paint! Get rustolem or kryon.

This paint will be a waste of your time and only frustrate you.

This stuff is junk! Scuffed touch-up area with fine sandpaper, cleaned thoroughly with solvent, masked off my area, and sprayed. After a couple of coats and some time to dry, went to remove the masking and the touch-up paint peeled right up with the tape!.

Someone keyed my wife’s 2017 QX70; envy, jealousy, or just plain stupidity. So, I was tasked with fixing it. You have to be careful using this product, otherwise you’ll still see where the fill marks were.

Especially if the scratch can be felt by moving your nail across it. With a magnifying glass you have to remove ALL of the excess particles from the scratch; this will take time. Then carefully fill the crevice with the Touch-up paint, blotting it as you go along.

Preferably you’ll use a heat gun so the paint dries and flattens in the crevice, you may have to do this multiple times until the crevice is filled. Then using 2000 grit paper “level” out the surface of the crevice.

Afterwards, you apply a thin coat, or two of clearcoat over the painted area. Using 3000 grit paper, you’ll level out the clearcoat you applied. Dupli-Color doesn’t tell you that.

I purchased this pen to fix a small chip in the hood of my recently purchased used prius. It did that easily. When I realized just how easy it would be to fix things, I decided to fix some much bigger scratches on the back bumper.

The older couple who leased it before me backed too far into their garage one day. The dealer decided to fix it by globbing a red paint they already had on hand all over the scratches. i was able to take off that paint with the abrasive tip, sand down the scratches and make the bumper look new again.

In fact, after waiting 30 minutes for the red coat to dry, I struggled to find where the scratches were to apply the clear glaze over top. It covered that well! I got the car for $1000 less because of the bumper, and I fixed it with a $12 paint pen.

I’m beyond thrilled with this purchase!.

product is okay but paint is very thin, so multiple, careful coats are needed to get a good result. One tin not enough for area such as a bumper. Colour needed is white and it is very hard to get a good result on anything but a white background.

Once primer is used (dark grey) underneath it is hard to cover up without multiple coats of paint. Not unexpected but much more paint needed than expected. Buyer be aware.

The paint is a dead-on match for my 2009 Accord. If I could ask for anything better, it would be larger cans of the stuff. a quart can of a spray-grade of this paint would have been ideal for my bumper cover replacement project–it is a big body part, gobbled a lot of 5 ounce cans.

MATCHED PERFECTLY. I sanded down scratches with an orbital sander and put on 3 lite coats

Having had an outstanding result with PORs 2K previously, I bought it again. After accounting for my own errors, I give it an average rating this time. Pot life is 30 min, not 2 hours (according to POR itself).

Application was much trickier with the same equipment as before, and the surface finish was frankly poor. A thin coat was impossible to get by spraying. All that said, the result was tolerable for the machine tool I was restoring.

Past experience suggests that this finish will be very tough, very resistant to scuffing, shop fluids, and very durable. A better cosmetic result would have been nice. Tech service was superb- a great help diagnosing what went wrong and how to recover.

I refinished a bathtub several years ago with an earlier version of this product. Some of the paint on the floor of the tub was chipping off. Wonder if it could be because of very “hard” water. Well I sanded and de-greased and applied the 2K Urethane.

Looks Great. Sure would be easier if the product came in smaller sizes like it used to, for touch ups like this. Thanks.

I think this is becoming my favorite POR15 product. like everything from this brand you really have to take your time and follow directions CLOSELY. I am currently using the clear version and have just done some axe and tool wooden handles.

One simple coat is all I needed. It took a good couple days to reach full hardness for me. When it comes to using a paintbrush, I like to work it with no reducer. it tends to not run as much. My only complaint.

I liked everything about this product I have a new used BMW that my daughter accidentally scratched I was furious but the recommendation from the staff was great! I did the application myself and I promise if you didn’t know you couldn’t tell I love it and hope I don’t have to use it again but if I do I will use the product thanks!.

I thought this was expensive first up but to get the prep, paint and overcoat clear in the one bottle worked fantastic – highly recommend

Although expensive I think t will do a great job with the very small stone chips I have

I’ve used the silver brush on type of this product on 2 engines(50 year old 4cyl Opel ones) and the results have been beyond perfect. I supplemented the application of this product with spray-on Eastwood Diamond Clear to assure sealing of the paint from staining.

This is a good practice when painting any car stuff, even powdercoated stuff. This silver brush on stuff hasn’t shown the slightest inclination to chip or peal off and I even had one of the engines rebuilt and the stuff was still staying on the engine as good as when I first put it on.

I chose to brush paint my engine for various reasons. After following directions to a T, the paint came out runny, thin, and leveled out too well. It would not cover the high spots in the casting without several coats.

Drips everywhere. I had to keep the surfaces I was painting level to avoid them, which dragged on this process for way too long. Aesthetically, it’s a 2/3 out of 10. In the end, the paint seem indestructible, which is ultimately what I want.

It’s get covered in road dirt eventually anyways. But we’ll see with mileage.

I was looking for an engine paint that was tough and some folks recommended this. So I bought a quart and after mixing saw that it was very thick and needed to be thinned to spray it. The directions suggest brushing it on, but there is no way that is going to look good and not run.

The directions insist on only using POR solvent, but that solvent cannot be sold in California, so I tried mineral spirits and it turned out awful. I had to wipe it all off. POR needs to come up with something that can be sprayed, otherwise the spray can stuff is superior.

I ended up using VHT spray paint and it turned out great.

It’s okay. I know this is a genuine Ford product, but the color is not an exact match for Oxford white. It is just a tinge darker than the factory paint. It goes on thick and dries fast. I guess there’s an art to it that I haven’t mastered.

It does cover the bare metal well, adheres well, and is not real noticeable unless you are looking for it. I like that it includes a clear coat. That is easy to apply with the little foam applicator.

More instructions or a “How to” pamphlet would be great. The before and after photo makes it look sloppier than it actually is.

prepare the surface: clean dry ,50% humidity shake well, shake often i use press needle valve to a toothpick, providing the best surface coverage to the body from the toothpick. Many smaller dots of paint is far easier to control than trying to spot the dot directly.

Week later, wet sand and re-wax and enjoy! Keep paint pen indoors in stable environ.

I know other reviews say the paint does not match, but mine is right on. Shake it really well at the right temperature and I think you’ll be fine. Easy application with the pen side or brush side.

Bought this to remove scuffs from my girlfriend car. Scuffs, not scratches and gashes. The scuffs did come off but so did the paint. With the slightest pressure the scuff is removed along with the surrounding paint.

The paint in the can is so noticeably different.

This product is an amazing way to enhance your vehicle. It can cover minor cosmetic scratches to enhance the overall appearance of your vehicle.

Wasn’t the right shade of white for my vehicle but the pin was and also the brush seems like it would be a good application tool for most cases.

If you have PW1 color code and use this codes pw6 pw7. It’s not matching color. I tried many times but it didn’t work. You have to use exact color always. Painting very good with this spray paint. If I have same color code it will work perfectly.

It was a pretty close match for a car that’s over 10 years old. The only way to get a better match would be to take it to a body shop. Just needed to do a small touch up and got pretty good results.

Painted multiple scratches along right side doors. Good color match. Covered well over grey primer. Topped with Dupli-color clear coat. Disappointed in the clear coat quality though!
