20 Best White Desk Chair (2022 Updated)

The ergonomic chair is easy to install, and it has one extra screw of each size, which made us feel kind of safe when putting everything together. The modern look is not that fancy but looks cool and the quality is decent.

It is pretty comfortable for me (as well as my cats. ), not too soft or too hard. The adjustable lower back support gives me more chance to make adjustment based on my needs, so as the head support. Five wheels make the chair move smoothly.

Everything seems durable and let’s examine it by time.

As the name suggests, it’s a Basic chair, and it’s attractive at first glance, but you don’t buy a sub $50 chair for it’s design and quality. You buy this chair to use occasionally. Personally, I purchased 5 of these to use around my poker table, because the chairs that came with the table were horrible! These chairs are better construction and look nicer in my opinion, but again, I don’t believe these chairs were meant to be used on a daily basis or for extended periods of time.

Very nice looking chair. The leather feels soft & goes good with the other furniture in the office.

Yes, it is made in china. But the quality could be better. The cushin started to flatten out pretty quickly.

Love, love, this chair. Ordered on Saturday, arrived on Wednesday. Took me all of 30 minutes to assemble, I was sitting in my new chair in time for my online class. Chair is stylish, comfortable supporting my back, wheels glide over carpet, and the arms swing up and down.

One customer review advised to use box when assembling and they were right. Also I couldn’t tell from the diagram where to put the 4 washers that go under the cushion arm rail but called Modway and customer service gave me the heads up their right here in NJ.

Would definitely purchase again my daughter and sister asked where did I buy. Thanks for having a product that actually does what it says and quality is better than expected.

Love this chair! Just finished assembling it and I love it. The color is gorgeous and the back support is great. I also really appreciate that the arms are adjustable. Shipping did take quite a while sadly, but ending up requesting discount because it was delayed.

I agree with the other review that says its overpriced. but only if you pay the original full price. If you can snag the deal, its pretty great. I will update this in a few weeks after use to see if it holds up.

This is a very nice chair. I absolute LOVE IT; however the cylinder is broken. I have owned this chare less than a year and the gas cylinder doesn’t keep the chair upright anymore. it is a sinking nuisance.

I did my research and I didn’t find any comments about a bad cylinder. I guess mine is a dud.

Decent chair, however, the casters are definitely not great. When I try to roll forward, they tend to go in different directions, and I have to force the chair into the position I want it. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but aggravating.

Color transfer from dark clothes is definitely an issue on the white. Does not clean off easily. The faux leather is quite thin, and tears very easily. It caught underneath the edge of my desk and it peeled off some of the faux leather without much force.

It is comfortable for a long period of time which is great. No sore back or anything after being in it at work all day. But. for the price I really expected better. I have not experienced the issue of it lowering on it’s own that others have mentioned.

I ordered this chair as I wanted something more stylish since you can see my open concept office from adjoining rooms. This chair is definitely stylish with the gold accents and the contrast of the black seat.

The chair is more comfortable than I expected with the high back and it does offer some lumbar support. I’m short so having this is rare. I can sit in this chair comfortably all day. I also appreciate how affordable this chair is and it arrived just a few days after I ordered.

Communication was superb from when the order was received, being processed and then full shipping and tracking details were sent the next day!! Overall, I’m very very impressed and love my chair!!.

The chair overall is a good value, comfortable, and stylish. The manufacturing, however, could have been better. During assembly it is required that you attach the chair arms to the seat section with the screws provided.

The screws were there, but what was missing was the holes in the vinyl. I had to feel for the holes below the vinyl and delicately cut out openings to allow the screws to penetrate. This presented an opportunity to ruin the seat and shows a complete lack of quality control in the manufacturing and inspection process.

This item was received in a larger solid box. Unfortunately, the hardware bag had opened and was spread throughout, but after taking everything out, I was lucky enough to find all the pieces. After putting it together, it seems as pictured.

I’m a woman about 5′ 8″, 145 lbs, and the chair seems sturdy enough for me, however, if you are bigger, it may not be sturdy or wide enough. My only major complaint (and the reason for 4 stars)- the casters don’t seem to roll as smoothly as I’d like- but, I can get some better quality ones for minimal price at a hardware store.

Overall, seems to be what I needed for occasional office use.

The chair is attractive. However it really doesn’t seem to be sturdy, so I wouldn’t consider using this as an everyday office chair. I bought it for my teen, she will probably use it a couple times a week and it looks cute in her room.

Only designed to be decorative. I had the chair for six months and the arms of the chair broke. Just attempted to sit up right and the arms snapped. Not reliable/dependable/sturdy/durable.

This chair is a durable sturdy task chair. The flip-up arms are a great option when you need to push the chair up under a desk for extra room, or when you just need extra lap room for anything, like a guitar perhaps or you need to get up close to the desk.

The only thing I would like to see it have is more cushion in the seat, then it would merit 5 stars overall. People that suffer from seating pains may have to add a seat cushion or pillow to minimize bursitis pain.

For those that don’t have pain while seated, this is a fine chair. I like that the chair back is open mesh, so that your back is supported but doesn’t get hot. The soft padded armrests are more comfortable on arms and elbows than the mesh style.

Its nice that the chair is a hybrid of materials, all in the right places. The seat tilt spring squeaks as you rock on occasion, not a defect but it can be a little distracting. I suppose a little lube would solve that, but a factory mod would be the best solution.

I ordered this chair, and it was horrendously cheaply made. You can tell. Just be looking at. Highly recommend looking elsewhere. The shipping packaging was ripped and extremely cheap. When assembling, the plastic was poorly machined or printed.

Clearly. It couldnt even be assembled correctly. And finally one it was out together, to top it all off, it wobbles horribly. I’m returning this trash immediately. I usually do not write reviews, but I have been a Best Buy customer for a long time, and this company they are partnered with is obviously low quality, high-dollar margin garbage.

I purchased this to be compatible with my new hideaway desk bed which is higher than an average desk. The first chair I purchased was too low. This chair is more than adequate in that regard. It was easy to assemble although the directions could be more clear.

It is sturdy and well built and makes less creaking noises than my previous chair. The foldaway arms are a definite plus. It could benefit from an adjustable lumbar support. However, the built in lumbar support is very good.

The foot rest is sturdy enough but I would like to see it redesigned to accommodate stocking feet. As is, if you rest your feet on it for long periods of time, you need to wear shoes or your feet will begin to hurt.

All in all, I am quite pleased with this purchase and definitely recommend it.

I bought this chair roughly a month ago for my desk, I am a dental student and use it every day for studying. Positives: Assembly wasn’t a problem, pretty easy overall. The seat cushion is acceptable, obviously not luxury leather seat comfy but not bad.

The folding armrests are nice and helpful, especially for pushing into the desk when you’re not using it, and the cushioning on them is the same as the seat so not bad. The lift and lower hydrolics of the chair are good and stable.

Negatives: The seat back is a little far back for my taste and the lumbar support you see is counterproductive when the stiff mesh (which is also not that comfortable) prevents your back from getting anywhere near the support part.

My biggest gripe with this chair is the reclining. Even with the knob turned to the highest reclining ability, the chair barely reclines at all. More agitatedly, the reclining requires a bit of force (and maintaining that force) to make it recline the 1cm it does.

This HERCULES Series Big & Tall 400 lb. Rated Black Mesh Ergonomic Drafting Chair is a great asset to my home office setting. I find it to be very supportive, quite comfortable, and professionally attractive.

It’s very sturdy, and very stable. It rolls easily, and smoothly even over my carpeted home office floor, and it feels very stable while doing so. It’s 400 lb. Rating provides me with peace of mind that it will maintain a nice long, comfortable, functionality for a long time.

It was pretty easy to assemble and I was able to figure out, and have it set up within a reasonable amount of time. It only took about 20 minutes to put together by myself. There are only six instructional pictures steps.

The manufacturer includes a great bonus of two pistons, a taller and a shorter one. I quite like it, and I highly recommend this office task chair.

The good thing is the chair has a lot of adjustments – tilt, back angle and height and super easy to put together. The not so good – I wish the back was padded instead of mesh. When I lean back I can feel the top of the frame digging into my back.

The seat bottom is firm and has a premade butt print in it which seemed comfortable at first but after sitting a few hours my butt began to hurt. Also, the fabric on the chair is slippery and can feel myself slipping off.

It would be great if they had a “leather” option for this chair. I’m still on the fence about keeping this chair or finding something else. It’s really difficult finding a comfy chair when you can’t sit in it before buying.

I needed to set up a small office space for working from home. I spent the last few months working from the dining table and the height of the table and the lack of comfort of the dining room chair was torture over a long period of time.

The Modway Ripple Office Chair that I purchased in gray has been working out very well over the past two weeks. I read the reviews about it being comfortable and questioned that belief. Well, it’s actually very comfortable and offers great lower back support, just make sure you are sitting all the way back with your lower back against the very back of the chair.

I frequently sit for a few hours at a time before getting up and no discomfort at all. I put in 8 hour days on this chair and I’m very pleased with my purchase. I am actually thinking about buying a second chair to take to my job site when I return to the office.

Super easy to put together and no tools needed. I also like the color choices and the modern style of the chair. Since I have only used the chair for a few weeks, I cannot make a statement regarding the long term durability, but no issues so far with the chair.

I would not recommend this chair to a large person, but at 5ft. 9in. and 160lbs. it is perfect for me.

i was looking for a simple armless office chair with firm but padded seat, a small footprint, and decent casters. problem solved. it’s not large, luxurious, or overly padded, and i’m skeptical of reports that indicate lower back support (if there is any, i haven’t yet discovered it, and the chair is too small for a back cushion), but for my 5’3″ frame and my propensity to sit on the edge of the chair while working (but preferring strong vertical support without lumbar when sitting back), it’s pretty perfect.

it’s also small enough, unlike any chair i’ve had at home or in the office, that i can easily roll it up flush under my desk for those times i do want back support. i would not recommend this for larger folks or those who prefer a large seat or tall back – this is a very small chair.

i’m a 5’3″, 135 pound woman and i don’t think i’d be comfortable in this chair if i were more than 3 or 4 inches taller/25-30 pounds heavier, and i certainly wouldn’t be comfortable in it even then if i preferred roomier accommodations.

but for my purposes and preferences, this chair definitely suits.

That being said it’s a chair. ‘A chair is a chair’. The one thing that I am critical about though, is that the chair rides too low for my situation. It now necessitates my incurring additional expense in purchasing a replacement chair height adjustment mechanism to address my needs.

I do however have an option here, I can purchasing a couple of cushions to place under my buttocks but this option impacts the chairs arm height. Oh well, who said life is easy. You asked, you got!.

This chair is overpriced. It’s an upgrade from the previous one I was using and I do like the back support (ergonomic feature). That said, there isn’t much cushion for your bottom. Luckily I had a rubber cushion for additional support which helps.

There’s cheaper options out there for the same level of support. I wouldn’t recommend this. Of course, my wife just loved the color. Go for practicality vs style. Good luck.

Great chair that has held up well over the past year!

Needed a good quality chair for my newly build home office and had to get a good one. All the research pointed me towards Herman Miller as one of the best, and I loved the style of this. Lumens had a great price for a fully featured chair — once you figured in the discount (I can’t remember what it was for), it was only slightly more than some of the pre-owned chairs I’d considered.

All in, great chair at a very good price, shipped reasonably quickly.

We spent a long time looking at chairs and then narrowed it to four which we ordered samples of – and then after trying out the samples of four well-known brands, we choose the Sayl Chair! It really has it all – ergonomics, function, comfort, style and a reasonable price relative to other ergonomically designed office chairs.

Highly recommended!.

Have been using it for a month and i find it very comfortable especially on days with many Zoom calls. Seems sturdy and glides really well on hard wood floors. And it looks cool too. 🙂 A bit more expensive than other good chairs but worth it.

I think my review title pretty much sums it up. A very expensive chair. I only pulled the trigger on the purchase for three main reasons; (i) spending significant time in the chair working from home during the COVID pandemic, (ii) the promotional offer just before Christmas which meant I got 20% off and (iii) being able to spread the cost over 12 months on finance.

Ordinarily, I would not review a product like this unless I’ve got significant use out of it. However, this chair replaced a 15-year-old one at a much cheaper price point, which was showing its age. The previous chair was steel with chrome finish and mesh seat and mesh back with pvc padded leather on the mesh seat and backrest.

There is a reason I have described my previous chair. That is because when you receive this chair you may notice the difference in weight. Before the purchase, I did peruse the considerable YouTube videos out there and also try the chair in store.

The weight may not be a deciding factor but if you use the chair on carpet, rather than a smoother surface, like me you may find that the chair glides much easier. Having watched many videos, my understanding is that some plastic components have been used in this chair, i.

e. the re-mastered version of the Classic. There are those that think that this has been a bit of a downgrade in quality. It does feel plasticky compared with my previous chair but only time will tell with respect to the quality and longevity.

Other things that I dislike about the chair are that it is very much a task-based bit of furniture, i. e. designed for long periods of time at the desk, sitting upright. This could in itself be taken as something positive.

Apparently, this is the reason that some claim that is does not come with a headrest. However, at 6’1″ tall (Size B chair), I really notice the absence of a headrest should I wish to lean back in the chair.

A separate headrest can be bought but not one manufactured by HM, and not insignificant cost. Another thing I dislike about the chair is the inability to lock the tilt if you have leaned back into it.

Something I could do with my previous desk chair. The armrests being fully adjustable are a great feature and something I think is better than on my previous chair that had fixed armrest. They are extremely comfortable, height adjustable as you’d expect but can also be pulled out both in front of you and sideways.

The sideways adjustability is great, not something I’ve had on any other office chair. I found the back support from the “PostureFit” to be very good. As an iconic chair, the polished chrome version does look very smart and slick in the home if aesthetics are important to you.

The lack of headrest and not being able to lock the tilt are not deal breakers, just things that others should be aware of when spending this amount of money. I would strongly recommend trying out the chair in store before you purchase if at all possible.

I do spend the best part of about 10 hours a day in the seat, obviously not continuous, and have no problems with comfort or pains thereof, which I was having with my old chair.

BEWARE – THERE IS NO WAY TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE LUMABR SUPPORT ON THIS CHAIR – so, if your height and or torso isn’t the exact size this chair was designed for, the lumbar support will hit your back in the wrong place, making the chair uncomfortable and useless.

I have dreamed of owning a Herman Miller Aeron chair for a long time. My work has shifted to more computer and desk time. For my 50th birthday, I took the plunge and excitedly spent more on a chair than I could really afford.

My thinking was, this chair will last a lifetime and sitting comfortably and taking care of my body seemed like a good investment in me :). The chair came a few weeks earlier than the estimated delivery time, and my work/travel schedule prevented me from really giving it a try for the first month.

I noticed it was uncomfortable and the lumbar support wasn’t exactly right but the video I watched before buying it clearly shows the lumbar support as being fully adjustable so I didn’t worry about it.

When I was finally able to use the chair, it didn’t feel quite right, and I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the lumbar support. I wasn’t really concerned as the chair has the reputation for being fully adjustable and Herman Miller has an incredible reputation.

I re-watched the video on the Herman Miller website that shows the full adjustable lumbar support and began trying to adjust the chair. In the first section of the film it show how to increase or decrease the lumbar support anomy chair was able to do that.

HOWEVER, it the next part showing how to adjust the height of the lumbar support, it was suddenly showing the back of a different (older) model of the chair that does adjust. I called customer service to learn that the chair I spent nearly 1,700 for DOES NOT have an adjustment for the height of the lumbar support.

Further, because it took me two months to figure that out, my chair is beyond the return date – so I am stuck with an expensive chair that does not do what the website claims it does. Share on you, Herman Miller for making a chair that claims adjust to fit everyone but does not.

I was in a severe motorcycle wreck that split my pelvis & messed my back up. My wife at the time bought this chair for me as a surprise and I’m so glad she did. I would never have spent this much money on myself.

Typical office chairs have a plywood seat with some padding stretched over and it quickly breaks down. As of 2021, I’ve had my HM for about 14 years. I’ve had two failures in that time. One, the arm rests would not stay locked at the proper height and the other, the cylinder failed.

HM wanted me to send the chair in for repair, but allowed me to send the upper frame only (I’m mechanically inclined so disassembly was a piece of cake). Rather than tighten the arm rests, they sent me a brand new entire upper frame.

They also replaced the cylinder. Both repairs took several days for shipping time, but there was zero hassle. I sent the defective parts in and they sent me new parts. No issues. The chair literally changed my life.

I was in so much pain sitting on typical office chairs and the HM drastically reduced my pain levels, drastically reduced fatigue, and made sitting for 8-14 hours per day much easier. I was expecting a very comfortable chair, which, the Aeron is not.

It isn’t uncomfortable by any means, it just wasn’t what I was expecting, but it really does make a huge difference when sitting for long periods. My only complaint is, I’m rather tall and I would have liked a taller cylinder so my legs would fit correctly.

Even though I have the largest size, it’s still a bit too small for me, regardless, I would absolutely spend this much money for this chair. The price has increased quite a lot since I purchased mine, but that’s likely due to inflation.

I’ve had my chair long enough that the price has been affected by inflation? Think about that. When was the last time you had an office chair last so long that inflation was a factor in the pricing. While it is (at least, for me) a very large expenditure for a chair, it lasts so long that in the long term, it’s less expensive than purchasing and replacing lower quality chairs.

If you’re on the fence about buying one of these chairs, if you *need* it, especially for medical reasons or even if you just sit at a computer for eight hours per day for work, stop waiting. If you can handle the price, it’s truly worth every single penny.

Its got all the bells and whistles and is quite comfortable with plenty of adjustments to suit anybody. The seat is plush and I love the headrest. It rolls perfectly fine on my Berber rug and I have actually gotten comfortable enough to fall asleep in the chair.

Would highly recommend. I did a lot of searching and when it comes down to it, if you can’t go to the store to try it out, get the chair that fits everyone. Hbada is a solid brand.

I bought this because I believed it had lumbar support. I have plates and screws in my neck from a past surgery, and I have horrible back pain. Since I have to work in my desk chair long hours, I wanted to get one that was at least decent for back pain.

This one isn’t. So I do want to warn anyone looking for a chair that’s easy on the back area to look elsewhere. That said, this chair was super easy to put together. The directions were clear and surprisingly simple.

There wasn’t a mark on the chair. It was clean and nice looking for the money. I had written a review earlier upset because I was in pain after sitting in the chair, but then I realized not everyone has my situation.

I am often in pain no matter where I’m sitting. So to be fair, I rated this a 4. It doesn’t recline (another big thing I overlooked and needed it to do), but it is a nice, tall chair, and if I wasn’t in a lot of pain anyway, I believe it would have been as comfortable as any other chair at this price point.

I was surprised at how clean and well packaged it was. They did a good job with it. It’s more than worth the money if you’re a healthy person who doesn’t need a lot of lumbar support. I’m also a very small person, so the arm rests are way too far apart for me.

We purchased this office chair for our pre teen daughter’s homework desk. It arrived in a timely manner and was packaged well. The direction for assembly were extremely simple and the chair was assembled in a few minutes with the exception of two bolts on the supports connecting the seat to the backrest.

It was impossible to seat them without cross threading the bolts which defeats the purpose. The bolts fit perfect without the support but once it’s applied the pre drilled holes on the support shifted the angle causing cross threading.

Thankfully my husband has a wicked tool shed and knowledge enough to fix it. You get what you pay for I suppose. The good news is that our daughter loves the chair and the soft texture. It is exactly as pictured.

I love this chair so much – I just kept buying them. I have a large work room that has multiple work stations. Three desks (for home schooling and office work) and a craft station (sewing machine, cricut, etc).

All the desks are white with wood top surfaces and these lovely brushed gold and pink chairs. It’s just a happy little work area. For the price they are comfortable and I do not get fatigued or uncomfortable sitting in them for long periods of time.

Upon first arrival the chair seemed great. The other reviews saying it’s hard to put together by yourself are only partially right. It was easy enough to do. Only part that was slightly difficult was attaching the back to the bottom.

The screws did not want to work with me. You’ll definitely want an open space to put it together, however. The chair was super comfortable for the first few weeks, but the cushion quickly deflated. That could be my fault, however, because I am on the bigger side and use this chair all day four/five days a week.

If you plan on using your desk chair a lot and want it to stay comfortable, this isn’t the one for you. Another issue I ran into is with the screws on the side becoming loose. It could be user error, but I’ve had to tighten them twice in the four(ish) months I’ve had it.

If you plan on getting this chair I would recommend getting a separate cushion to go with it. Overall it’s a pretty chair to add to your office, but it’s just alright.

VERY cheap/thin carboard shipping box. how could it survive delivery unscathed?. Mine didn’t survive. The star base was scratched up. The chair frame is finished with silver spray paint that chips easily on cheap black plastic.

I initially just wanted the shipping damaged part replaced. I threw out box. I assembled the chair waiting for replacement part. realized chair was junk after one day. the fabric is thin plastic and feels like it could tear easily.

The foam is super low grade with no support my back was killing me. The side screws stripped out after one sit ( I am 165 lbs). Return attempts took a month with impossible CHANGING demands from vendor! The chair does not come apart at the base once it is snapped together (They sent me a replacement base.

it was worthless cuz the parts don’t separate. I even take the base to my contractor son in law. No luck. Vendor chides me for not keeping the original box as it would have been easier refund. Seriously? I wanted to keep the chair when I got it and live in an apartment.

Why would I save box. I dumpster dive in a shopping center to find big enough box. I ask for directions to disassemble. No response. Finally the tell me to donate and get receipt. I donate and send receipt they say sorry no refund without product return.

I freak out and go back to charity to find chair and haul it back. I reach out to customer service. No help. I am told to find another box so all the parts fit inside and give measurements of shipping box.

I burst into tears and regroup. I call back and ask for supervisor. Kevin “gets it” and I’m issued a refund in less than 24 hours. I get another snarky email from vendor ( see attached photo). I cant believe Houzz allows this vendor to tarnish their good name!!!!!!.

Decided to order a ergonomic nice office chair for my computer space at home. After long browsing decided to go with this nameless chair since it seems like a perfect fit for my price / size requirements.

Took about 30 mins for unpacking / assembly which is not bad at all. Very sturdy, nicely made, assembles like charm, highly recommended.

Had this chair for one week, and it’s comfortable so far. I like that it is armless, so I can sit upright or slightly leaning back without being confined. Easy to assemble. But some of the screws are misaligned.

So the back is slightly off-centre. Not enough that I would return it, but just be aware that mass produced products aren’t perfect.

The only reason I don’t give five stars is because it was difficult for me to pick through all of the chairs colors that were left after I chose the style and type I like. Sometimes Wayfair is limited in what colors are available.

Once I found the chair I wanted I finally sifted through many chairs to find the color that would work. It arrived VERY quickly. All parts were included. Directions to assemble was clear. Assembly was easy and fast.

I would recommend Wayfair for all of your basic furniture needs. I also have a great living room recliner as well as a dresser from Wayfair. They make good quality furniture for a decent price.
