20 Best White Fence Paint (2022 Updated)

Painted a pine double wardrobe with the lamp white fusion mineral paint. I did one coat on the inside ( looks like a “wash”) and 2 coats on the outside. After the first coat I thought I was going to need another pot to cover the dark orange pine but the second coat gave excellent coverage.

Amazed that one 500 ml pot went such a long way and covered so well. Very easy to apply with a brush and foam roller. ( I lightly sand it before I started painting) Given an old wardrobe a new lease of life.

Very happy.

I would highly recommend this paint. It is a far superior product than similar paint you can purchase in local diy stores. It has a lovely Matt finish but it is not chalky. It is very easy to use and applies easily without being sticky and gloopy.

There is no need for a primer before hand and it is very hard wearing.

I’ve used this paint before on furniture projects. Covers within 2 coats. Glides on and the finish is lovely. Colour you see on the images is pretty accurate.

I would’ve never believed that painting a truck with Rust-oleum Flat Protective Enamel was possible until my husband and I actually tried it. We purchased a Chevrolet Z71, the truck had some minor body damage, the previous owner had already started fixing this truck then we took on the task of painting it.

We checked the prices on a professional paint job, keep in mind it cost more for larger vehicles. I decided to look on YouTube for ideas on painting the truck myself. Well, Rust-Oleum is a great paint for this project.

I found a number of videos where Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel is used to paint vehicles. I purchased this paint in black, used paint rollers and a hair dryer. This paint glides on and leaves a rather thick coat.

I used the hair dryer to get rid of the bubbles in the paint, and I’m seriously amazed at how smooth the paint becomes. This truck had little to no rust, I feel confident that this paint will protect the body of my Z71.

The finished product looked amazing, it looked close to a job done at Maaco. My husband finished by adding a clear protective coat, we used Rust-Oleum clear in a can and when we finished up by adding a pin stripe, this paint job is close as one can get to a professional paint job.

I highly recommend the 8-oz size of this flat white paint for renters. 8 oz is just right for doing touch-up work with putty to cover up nail holes, TV wall mount holes, etc. in your plain white walls when you move out of an apartment, so as not to get dinged on your security deposit.

Also it’s good for arts and crafts projects too — it’s truly a flat paint, not smooth or slightly glossy like acrylic paint. Any object painted over with a few layers of this paint is easy to paint on with oils or watercolors, and to sketch on in pencil (pencil erases very easily from it too).

Buyer beware. – from the picture it looks as if you are getting a quart, when in reality it is a half-pint, and for a ridiculous price, no less. Found a quart of the paint for $12 but paid $22 for a half-pint.

Super rip off.

TERRIBLE PAINT : I bought RustOleum Painter’s Touch Flat Black Water Based Paint to paint a wooden table for patio use. In the can and upon first applying, the paint appeared blue but later turned black.

It was like brushing on Elmer’s glue. uneven, runny coverage. Advertised as “Ultra Coverage”, it took three to four coats to achieve decent coverage. The appearance is definitely not Flat Black being more like Satin.

I’ve just finished the project so it remains to be seen how well it holds up over time. If you desire ease of application, satisfactory results and a flat black appearance, avoid this product.

I purchased this product because I was looking for FLAT BLACK paint. I search other Rustoleum products but no ” Flat Black “. When I first started it was watery, but after stirring for several minutes it finally thickened up.

Yes, it started out blueish but then the black showed thru but it wasn’t ” Flat Black “. Why doesn’t it say it will dry a satin finish on front of can. Now I will have to go out and try to find FLAT BLACK paint.

This was a waste of time and money !! Not recommended.

I’m extremely disappointed in this paint, Rustoleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover Premium Latex Paint. Some of the worst paint I’ve ever used. In accordance with instructions from Rustoleum Customer Service, I applied it to a surface that had been primed with Zinsser 1-2-3 primer.

I used a high-quality one-inch brush. It was very difficult to get this paint to cover uniformly. And then after I applied the paint, it dripped and sagged. Terrible!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used acrylic latex paint including Behr on asphalt shingles without primer and the results were fine even 15 years after painting the roof white so see no need for a primer.

My experience is that acrylic latex paint adheres very well to asphalt shingles and in addition, acts to hold the gravel to the shingle. Why does Behr recommend a primer? I have also thinned the first coat substantially to ensure that it it seeped between shingles since I have found the paint acts as an additional bond between shingles.

Overall, I have found that painting shingles will add substantial life to them.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought the barn paint for my big porch ceilings and also for some of the trim and porch furniture. I am so pleased with the coverage and dry time. It looks amazing! I definitely will use it in the future.

I’m going for the deck paint tomorrow. Behr IS the best! Hands down! I’ve used way to many others and they don’t even come close!.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe did not get the coverage listed on the can of 250-450 square feet per gallon. We currently used 18 gallons for a 2400 square foot roof and may need 5 gallons more using an roller for extra course surfaces.

Maybe if the roof was sprayed we could get better coverage rates. The current roof was in very poor condition and was a light tan color and we used a black Behr paint. The finished roof looks beautiful.

It looks brand new. Behr claims it will not extend the life of the roof or prevent leaks, but after applying it, I think is has to extend the life of the roof and fill areas that might leak. It takes some practice to get a nice even painted surface.

Using different techniques will generate a different finish. We tried a brush, different rollers and will be using a sprayer. Different painters got different results. We got the best results painting in horizontal rows following the shingle tiles.

IšverstiShow in original languageSince we live in a very sunny, hot, humid climate, our fencing etc needed painting and repairs. Let’s face it owning property with buildings, fencing require upkeep. We do our own painting, repairs and we want to do it right and stay on top of it before it becomes too big of a job.

This paint works great on weathered surfaces and on masonry and stucco too. Our fencing has made it through hot sun, hurricanes and rain so it has been weathered. KILZ paint is easy to apply and so far so good.

4 stars because we have not used long term yet to see if it fades or flakes.

My shed looks good and makes me smile when I see how well the paint makes it look new. It dried quickly and clean-up was easy. I wish I had used this paint when we first built our shed.

Great product for painting old wood. It goes on easy, thick and dries fast. It fills in the holes since it is so thick. My only wish with this paint is that it come in more than two colors, white and (no joke) barn red.

I purchased the white and used it all in one sitting around my windows and wood railing on my deck, although extremely white and bright it dried matte and clean. I purchased the red hoping it would have a bit more brown tint but was surprised when I started painting and it was, well, red.

It is nice that it dries matte which takes a bit of the brightness away. In all, the color looks nice on my now red fence against my very white house and is keeping my husband happy since I am no longer painting my front door blue.

I have always purchased Behr as I had good luck with it. Behr was my go-to paint. The last 2 cans have been garbage. I get as much paint on me as I do on what I am painting; the coverage is substandard and it takes forever to dry.

I am preparing my house for sale so I have many things to paint. I asked my realtor what to do and she told me to get Benjamin Moore paint. Not having the best results in the past I was hesitant, but I tried.

There is no comparison. Comparing Behr to Benjamin Moore is like comparing a Fiat 500 to a Ferrari. Guess what paint I will be used to pain the last 4 rooms of my house. I will give you 3 guesses and your first two do not count.

I bought this on a Saturday afternoon, color 2003-30 (BM). I know it was mixed because the girl opened the paint and put a drop on the lid. The color was perfect. I opened the can the next morning and the purple tint additive was on the top of the paint.

This required 5 minutes of mixing to get the right color again. I opened he can 2 days later, same problem. Aside from that, the paint goes on well but I always use primer on new wood or concrete. The last paint I bought in this color was 6 years ago from someone else and it lasted without much mixing until last month.

Excellent paint, great coverage. Only thing I’d warn people about is this is a tad hard to wash off with soap and water. Wear light weight plastic gloves. Can’t speak to durability yet, see how it looks next year.

Great quality paint for any job you need done that requires acrylic paint. This brand has been good for painting a couple rooms in our home. I like thier large variety of colors and good one coat paint.

Spending my summer doing some projectors around the house. After pressure washing the porch, it’s time for a new coat of paint. Valspar exterior paint does the job. One coat covers amazing.

I really love the convenience of Walmart’s online shopping, I generally order home improvement items. My latest order was Gloss White paint. I looked through the item details to see what size item I was purchasing.

I couldn’t find it anywhere, I even looked in comments. Nothing, This item is a quart I would have paid for a gallon. I just feel this was very deceptive. Seller please be completely detailed in your items.

I now must make another purchase plue tax if this doesn’t cover my project.

I mean, it’s paint. It’s good paint. I’ve used it before, and it’s about time to refinish some things, because as good as it is, oil based paint yellows over time. I got the exact same paint.

I used this to paint my Jeep CJ5 with a roller. After doing some research, I decided on Rustoleum. I thinned it a little and used a dense 4 inch roller. After drying it was a bit orange peeled, but I’ve seen worse from the factory.

Prep your surfaces good. Use the spray can version for hard to reach areas. I’m happy with the results, and the cost is minimal. Compared to a body shop or even buying automotive paint, and you can get a quality job with this product.

My mother is quite the ‘dynamo’ & ‘Kilz’ products were the first things she purchased for it all! Every single ‘KILZ’ product has always given us superior results, no matter what we used it for or put it on! Wether it using the Original Primer or the Multipurpose, depending on the project needs or location-(interior or heavy duty exterior, at the time)-there were always excellent results & have never needed to repeat any steps when applied, on anything, anywhere! A few years after that experience, we purchased a large property and built a new house & barn.

Shall I say again what were the first few items we purchased?? Right! ‘KILZ’ products and we were armed’ with confidence and ready for anything! Many years later, as I return each time back to that home & property, I always think how beautiful & sturdy it still is! And how we began those projects have stood the test of time with great endurance & maintenance free KILZ products.

Today, I always have several projects going on at all times, and am never without my tried & tested KILZ! IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve used plenty of primers in my homes over the past 40 years. I’ve started with the inexpensive primers as I thought primer is primer. Boy was I ignorant. Sometime in the 1990s I was trying to “cover up” my infant child’s fancy new artwork in our rented home.

I certainly didn’t want to forfeit my deposit so I planned to paint the walls to hide the “art”. The primer I started using didn’t cover much at all. The black markings were still vividly visible through several coats of the cheaper primer.

I believe an employee at the local hardware store told me about Kilz. As I felt I had nothing left to lose a can went home with me and soon I applied another primer coating. The Kilz did exactly as the clerk said.

It “killed” the markings completely after 2 coats. Nothing was visible! That was an awesome product and I have been sold on Kilz ever since. For the past 12 years my home is a 120 year old farm house that I’ve been working on seemingly continually and we’ve used Kilz or Kilz 2 almost exclusively.

The only time we will deviate from our “go to” primer is when it’s not available. Then we only get enough to do the job and that’s it. I’ve used Kilz on fresh drywall and over top of existing paint with stellar results even with lower cost paints.

I can not say enough good about Kilz. Thank you for such a good product. Success breeds success. Exceeding expected results instills confidence and creates repeat customers as well as customers willing to try new products.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis primer has great coverage! It covers with one coat and covers darker colors, block’s smells and stains, and gives you a fresh blank slate. I used it on a few garage sale pieces that came from a smoker and no matter how many times I washed them with a disinfectant or even a bleach solution, I could still smell smoke.

When I used just one coat of this primer and then painted, I never smelled smoke again. This primer actually saved 2 pieces that I was ready to throw away. It also covered water stains. When using this primer, use it in a well ventilated area and if possible, have fans.

The fans will help it dry faster too. There is an odor when using it but it disappears after it dries. I have asthma and used fans so it didn’t bother me. Highly recommend.

I hunted all over the USA for one single can of this color Krylon Coral Isle to finish a project. Only Summit Racing came through. Krylon wouldn’t sell directly to a buyer. Big box stores and all others would NOT order just one.

Summit took the trouble of ordering just one for one person not as part of a big order. Never bought from Summit before. But, I know where my $$$ are going on my next restomod. Thank you very much Summit!! Tom R.

Love this paint. We have purchased many gallons of this for more than one project around our rural home. It goes on thicker than other paints, so it helps to seal small cracks in older, weathered wood.

We even used it to paint our older metal tin roof. Once completed, it looked just like a brand new, modern colored metal roof. And it held up well to our Florida weather ( lots of hot sun, humidity and rain) Wish it came in more colors, then my husband would have everything around our home painted with this paint.

save yourself the time and money. sticky after drying for over a week. real thin paint. if it gets wet, it will bubble and peel. color is fantastic but thats about it. we used it on our porch and railsand within a week it is peeling.

supposed to be flat paint but is actually semi gloss. i will spend the 15 dollars more and get another brand.

I used the HGTV Home paint by Sherwin-Williams on two different wood surfaces. Both were cleaned and properly prepped as the directions clearly instructed. The first surface was smooth, and had a nicer, more finished feel to it.

The second surface was more unfinished and had a raw, rough texture to it. The paint coated the smooth, finished wood surface very easily and it took only one coat. I would say that the built in primer was a definite time saver, and made the entire project easier and more pleasant! As I expected, I had to apply a second coat to the raw wood surface because it soaked the paint right up.

Rough, textured surfaces often need 2 coats because it’s hard to get the paint into all of the cracks, bumps and crevices. After the second coat dried, it was perfect, and looked just like the first surface.

The surfaces haven’t had sufficient time to really get dirty at this point, so I’m not able to touch on the self-cleaning technology except to say that I’m excited and hopeful that it will keep things cleaner and looking like new for a longer period of time than other paints.

So far, I would give this paint a thumbs up and 5 stars! Definitely worth the price in my opinion!.

My husband and I purchased this paint to paint our patio as it just looked like it needed some updating. We chose this beautiful grey color in order to accent the black, grey, and white patio furniture and décor we just purchased.

I am not a “professional” painter, but this almost made me feel like I was. The application process was so easy and the coverage was great. The color was beautiful and was thick as it rolled onto the walls.

We were able to finish our entire porch within a few hours. After waiting for a full day, we did one more coat just to be sure to touch up any spots we needed, and it looked absolutely beautiful. So far, it has been on the walls for a month and it looks just as good as the day as when we painted it.

I feel as if this is going to be long lasting and continuously look great for when our guests come over to hang out in the back yard. I give this paint a 10/10! I had never used the HGTV Home Sherwin Williams paint prior to using this, but after seeing the reviews, I figured I would give it a shot.

Now I think that the price and quality are just amazing. I am so glad we chose this. Highly recommend!.

HGTV Home Sherwin – Williams Everlast Exterior Paint I had a few outside projects I wanted to paint. I went to Lowe’s and picked up a gallon of HGTV Home Sherwin – Williams Everlast Satin Exterior Paint in Fired Brick.

This is a complete one coat paint and primer and 100% acrylic enamel. This product provides all weather protection, water beading technology, UV defense (protects from fading), mold-mildew and algae resistant coating and is anti-fade.

Also, this paint covers existing paint, dirt, residue, and old stains. I live in Louisiana where the humidity is insane and all it has done is rain the last 3 weeks. It states this paint has rain ready technology, meaning it’s dry in l hour.

Therefore, when the rain stopped long enough I applied one coat of paint to the outside shelves I was putting together. I used a 2” Purdy XL Glide paint brush with medium stiff nylon bristles. It was so easy to paint my shelves with the thick formula.

Hint: Louisian has an average humidity of 74%. It took 1 hour 10 minutes for the first coat to dry. What a surprise? I couldn’t believe the paint was dry! The 1st coat of paint covered the shelves so well I almost didn’t apply a second coat.

After 2 hours I applied the second coat. I love the deep rich red color of “Fired Brick”. This product comes with Sherwin – Williams Lifetime Warranty. I highly recommend you try HGTV Home Sherwin Williams Everlast exterior paint.

I have a shed project that has a rough-textured T1-11 siding on it that needs a new coat of paint. I was not looking forward to it, as past experiences with such surfaces means primer and a few coats of paint to fill in all of the nooks and crannies.

Although I have been painting stuff for decades, this ‘paint and primer in one’ was something I hadn’t had the occasion to try out until now. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise! Whether I was painting some unfinished parts or over the old finish, it went on very quickly and only took one coat! The paint has a thicker, more ‘heavy cream’ texture to it, which likely means more solids in there.

This should definitely help it last longer. It was definitely a different experience from what I’ve had for years before, with the thinner-textured “house paint” (as my family called it). It also doesn’t smell like the old paint either.

Granted, this is an outdoor project, but I didn’t even notice any odor when I opened the can. Only time will tell how well it holds up to the elements, but it does have the backing of the Sherwin Williams brand which has made quality products for years, so I am not worried.

If you haven’t done a lot of painting (or maybe you’re about to start your first project), here’s some advice – don’t scrimp on the quality of the paint brush or roller cover and frame. Cheap products produce mediocre results; buy the good stuff, clean it when you’re done, and it will give you excellent results and last for years.
