20 Best White For Ceiling (2022 Updated)

Easy to use, does not clog, no mess I laid out a drop cloth and didn’t need it, no overspray. It was the easiest ceiling spray Primer and Paint I have ever used. I thought it would never match my ceiling so I bought some paint for the second coat, didn’t need it, because it covered and matched well after drying.

No overspray. I bought 2 cans thinking I would run out, barely used any. I love it.

FANTASTIC PAINT I HAD STAINS IN BOTH BATHROOM CEILINGS. THIS WORKS GREAT, NO MESS JUST GREAT WHITE POPCORN CEILINGS NOW.

I had some water damage. My ceiling tiles turned brown. Nothing else worked. This covered the stains and you cannot tell there was anything wrong. The only minor issue is that the paint does splatter on whatever is beneath you.

Make sure you prepare for that. Great product and great price.

This spray is easy to use. I was amazed on how well it covered the spots on my ceiling actually matching the white. The ceiling I used it on hasn’t been painted in years = many years so I thought this new spray might show up but it blended perfectly.

It does not have a strong odor either. Awesome product.

A roof leak, before a repair, left a stain on our living room ceiling. I was disappointed with this product because even though I carefully followed directions, four successive applications were required before the stain became invisible.

I did like the vertical spray tip which makes it possible to hold the can upright while spraying on a ceiling.

I used this paint on my kitchen ceiling. The house had been owned by people who smoked for years. Between that and just basic kitchen grease, it was completely yellowed. Even after we’d scrubbed it down, it was gross.

I would catch the smell occasionally, and there were darker patches. So we painted the ceiling with two coats in a creamy white shade. It has worked so , so well. The paint went on very easily, and we’ve had no bleed-through or spots.

That smell is gone and I feel like it’s all captured and covered with the paint. Due to the light color, the whole kitchen feels brighter and all in all, it’s just a lot more pleasant.

I’m a part-time Handyman and a full-time Honey-Do list follower, and BEHR paint has always been my go to paint for really only one reason. That’s because it covers generally in one coat for times than not under most circumstances.

About 6 months ago a business neighbor at our office building gave me two gallons of blue paint he had mistakenly ordered and didn’t have a use for it. He knew I was always painting things, so I was the go to guy to find a use for it.

I thanked him and didn’t even pay attention to the brand on the can, since it was free, just the color. This past weekend, I repainted a room at the office and decided to use the free blue paint. The room was heavily painted with a dark brown color and I thought two gallons of light blue would not be enough to cover the much darker base.

Well, I painted what I thought would be just the first coat and was very surprised when the brown was immediately replaced with a beautiful light blue with just the one coat on the first wall. I was so surprised, I then looked at the brand and thought “Of course” it’s BEHR, that’s why it’s just one coat.

Yes, it was ceiling paint, but it worked on the wall just fine, although it’s a flat look, it’s very attractive. I know this sounds like an ad, but I’ve tried all the brands at the different box stores and I go out of my way to find a Homedepot, just to buy the BEHR paint because I hate wasting work time on multiple coats if I can avoid it.

I live in a home built in the late 70’s. Every ceiling has “popcorn” concealer. I call it concealer because of all the workmanship flaws “popcorn” hides. I am slowly working my way through the house scraping and repainting the ceilings.

Behr Ultra stain blocking ceiling paint is incredible and the price is the most reasonable I have found especially considering the quality! It give great coverage and conceals the small flaws left after mudding and re-sand the ceiling.

An important tip and step to take before painting with this or any product. Use a damp cloth to wipe all the dust off the ceiling. I painted professionally for several years. I tried other product then I found Behr.

I have not considered another paint since. I use strictly Behr products for all my painting needs.

I painted a basement open ceiling twice with a good white paint. Both times, the regular white paint bled through. We were trying to create a room so our teens could call it their own to enjoy with their friends.

I then tried Kilz, with it’s claim of covering stains. Kilz worked like a charm for the 3rd painting and has not bleed though stains. Nice and bright white where our old sistern was located. Years later the room is still nice and I owe it all to Kilz.

I purchase kills ceiling paint all in one because I could cover up ceiling stains as well as just paint the ceiling. I love the color on it especially. It was just Ceiling white, but the color is just nice.

The three ceilings I painted with it are the nicest ceilings that I have. It is also lasted for over 10 years still looking fresh and new.

We used this product in a major reno of our home. There was so many obstacles. We chose this product to accommodate the challenges for the ceiling and walls. It proved to be a life saver. We are documenting this entire process.

We will be happy to encourage others to use this paint. It was awesome!.

Good quality, easy to install, but should be noted that there is a very very subtle difference in the look (I hesitate to even call it a pattern) depending on the direction of the tile; we didn’t notice this until it was too late and some were no longer symmetrical due to being cut.

As we were cutting all of our tiles to 2×2 or smaller, this was an issue. If you’re keeping them at 2×4 you won’t accidentally turn them 90 degees unless they’re 2×2 cuts or less. The tiles looked a slightly different shade of white when turned 90 degrees.

This was mainly noticeable in daylight coming from one direction; with lights on and more even lighting it wasn’t really noticeable. I’d recommend looking at them by a window before you install, comparing two side by side until you see the difference and then marking the orientation on any that need to be cut or if you did as we did, which was buy the 2×4 tiles and cut them to 2×2.

(Cheaper than the 2×2 tiles).

These PVC tiles are a better alternative to the gypsum tiles (which crumble and break easily) and the fibreglass tiles (which shed glass particles every time you move them), but they are more fragile than I would have hoped.

If you use a pencil to mark a cut on the tile, you will have a hard time getting it off. Magic erasers, normal erasers, and cleansers will make the marks worse, and if you use any pressure when you try to erase them, you will get gouge marks in the PVC.

Some of the tiles had machine marks and grease on them out of the box. One box I received even had footprints on them, and I should have returned them, but spent a lot of time washing them with soapy water instead.

These are great panels, nothing wrong with them! Just wanted to mention though, that they cardboard boxes they come in are super smelly / stinky!! I’ve bought these panels on two different occasions and the boxes were smelly each time.

If you leave it in your basement while waiting to use them, it will immediately fill the place with the smell. Anyways, we love the ceiling panels.

I love this paint and primer, as it coats smoothly and covers in two coats. (I NEVER believe in one coat of anything). The color is bright white, my favorite for ceilings. Having used it in the past with no problems, I just bought 6 gallons for my new home, a 1961 rancher with low ceilings.

It will brighten every room! I always spot-primer with shellac or oil-base primer any dark, waxy, wood knots, or water stains, and highly recommend that you do too. It saves a lot of heartache, as spot touch-ups are never good on ceilings, and you won’t want to keep recoating the whole ceiling because some stain keeps popping through.

Used this paint for a smoker’s home to paint the popcorn ceilings. This is a great paint for the price, covered the yellowed ceiling in 2 coats and even though I covered up all carpet and furniture, I saw nothing but 2 little platters on my plastic after rolling the ceilings.

So, it covers up stains really well and works very clean. One down side to this one: DO NOT USE IN WET SPACES, because of the pink pigment in the paint that will start showing anytime the paint gets wet.

I will always use this paint for ceilings, excellent quality for the price.

This paint has poor coverage over acoustic ceilings. 1 gallon was not enough to paint the ceiling of a 10 foot X 11 foot bedroom. That is 110 square feet. Nothing like running out with 1 foot left to roll.

1 gallon was more than enough last time I painted it with a different brand. I tried to call the telephone number on the can and I got a recording saying they are sorry that having technical difficulties.

They sure are!.

The paint does touch up stains, but the color forms not match original tile color. The touch up paint is a bright white, with a matte finish. Armstrong ceiling tiles are a few shades below bright white, and have a semi gloss finish.

You can see where touch up was performed on ceiling. Surprised Armstrong couldn’t have come up with a better color match for their touch up paint. The bottles are small, and will cover about 10 tiles.

I recommend using the Armstrong paint or Kilz first, then another white over it for a better match.

This paint is a lifesaver!!! It works really well at covering up blemishes in the ceiling tiles!!! Just one coat with the brush that comes with it and your tile looks like new again!!! I ordered it at around 12:30pm one day and got it less than 24 hours later! It was shipped the day I ordered it!!! That’s amazing! Super fast shipping and really an amazing product.

I highly recommend it to anyone with white Armstrong ceiling tiles!!!.

If you have Armstrong ceiling tiles, this is the exact color. And the applicator brush is the best thing to use for touching up your tiles. Don’t bother buying brushes – I did, and they weren’t as good as the applicator brush.

If you have the white Armstrong ceiling tiles, you will eventually need this (especially if you have kids).

I ordered Stratford tiles to use to replace some old acoustic tiles in the living and dining room area of a 1925 Craftsman I just bought. The old tiles were a mess with stains from water damage and the old tbars were rusty and dirty.

The ceiling also only had a three or four inch clearance between the ceiling and tbars to insert the tiles. It was a BEAR to get the old tiles out. The Stratford tiles from Ceillume however, had just the right amount of flexibility to easily flex enough to slide into the old tbars! Even though they look and feel so lightweight and I was afraid they might break if they got too bent in the installation, not one did! They popped right in intact without issues! And even though we cleaned and painted the tbars, there was still some rust on the tops of the bars that wiped off onto the tiles as they were inserted into the grid.

I was worried at first, but the Stratford tiles wiped clean with a wet paper towel without an issue! Everything about this product was fantastic and the finished installation is beautiful! I bought more tiles than I ended up needing, but I am planning to replace a light fixture at some point and will need to cut new tiles to fit around it.

Did I mention they are so easy to cut to size? Just snipped them with scissors! I don’t mind having the extra tiles. I am so happy with the product I am glad Ceilume is getting the money for the extras.

I had to write this review because my experience couldn’t have been better with this product! And the customer service is great! They sent me samples and answered all of my questions on the phone. If you are thinking about getting these tiles, DO IT!! They are so easy to use, flexible but durable, and waterproof, washable and paintable!! You won’t be disappointed!!.

Our church remodeled the dining room a couple of years ago with these tiles. Everyone loved them. Visitors made many positive comments. In remodeling our children\’s church this year we decided to add a dropped ceiling with these tiles.

Lovely. While doing this, we also decided to \’redo\’ the bathrooms and laundry room. A wonderful decision. Everyone is happy. Would not hesitate to recommend these tiles. They are affordable, sturdy, easily installed, and classy looking.

Customer service is the \’best\’.

These tiles look great in my basement. They are thin, so I could get them as high as possible, hiding all the heat ducts, pipes, electrical cables, beams and rafters. Instead of unused basement space, I now have an extra living area.

What a difference! The tiles arrived quickly, without incident or damage. They are very easy to work with and cut easily with ordinary scissors. I installed them myself. The only tricky part was hanging the gridwork and installing the lights and heating vents.

Once that was done, the tiles went in quickly. If you already have a grid, putting in the tiles is a snap. They look great! It\’s now a pleasure to spend time in a classy, finished room. Everyone who sees them say what a difference the tiles made in unifying the room and transforming it into an elegant living space.

Recently bought this as it’s HD’s best paint and I’ve had good results with their one level down Ultra in the past. I find that it’s not a true flat and more of a matte finish. I painted an existing ceiling that’s just under 250 sq ft and got a bit too much reflectivity which only shows where roller seems hit etc more clearly when the light reflects off of it.

We have hanging lights. I probably wouldn’t notice with just ceiling cans but it should be better than this. As I noted, previously primed and painted (white) ceiling is just under 250 sq ft and the ceiling itself was clean before painting.

Used all but a few oz of the gallon. I’ll need to do another coat in the future to get it acceptable since I don’t want to use another paint with a different sheen to it now. All that said, I’ve used Ultra on ceilings in the past and for someone starting fresh, would recommend that instead.

We had a leak in the attic from a faulty air handler. We had just painted our ceiling with the Behr ceiling paint. The 2nd day of the leak caused the ceiling to bow out as the weight of the soaked drywall and insulation became heavier.

We called the hvac company and they were sending someone over to fix the problem. The next morning the bowed ceiling hung down about 3 feet. We were worried the ceiling would give way, causing a lot of problems for us.

But the Behr paint stretched and held as the leak continued! The hvac company could not believe it! Said they had never seen anything like it. We were amazed. Even when the remediation company came by to cut open the ceiling to repair it, the Behr paint held, saving our floors, walls and home from serious damage.

We will never use another product except Behr paint in our home. We are so pleased with your products!.

We used Behr products for our entire house. The Scuff Defense paint we used for the walls went on easily with excellent coverage – there are a couple of places where difference in sheen is apparent – even with additional coats – but overall, we found it to be an excellent product – much easier to use than some other brands.

However, the ceiling paint was a total let down. We love the color, sheen, finish, etc, but it took 2 or 3 coats and multiple tries to get it lay down evenly and to cover the old off-white color with a bright white.

IšverstiShow in original languageI painted the prayer room in my home. Two coats without primer did the trick and made the room look a lot brighter and neater. Loved the result. The paint is quite thick and a good amount was used.

I used 3/4 gallon for two coats on a medium sized room. The customer service was great as well when my family was trying to cancel my order-obviously we changed our mind again 🙂 This may be on the more expensive side, but I definitely recommend.

You will completely change the space. Now I’m going to be doing 3 coats in my kitchen for the ceiling to be absolutely perfect. Kitchen’s got textured ceilings and 2 did the trick (room’s looking brighter and bigger already), but the 3rd coat will look amazing :).

And boom- 1 option- white ceiling paint! Our order came quickly. We paid someone to paint our ceiling, and they actually asked what paint we had purchased- because they loved it! Said it wasn’t as messy as Sherwin Williams and it was covering much better too! Will turn to Clare for all of my painting needs.

This is the perfect ceiling paint- it only took one coat. You can’t even see the brush strokes where he cut in. I cannot give this paint enough stars!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI used this to cover a tricolor and a beige ceiling. I did not prime first, but I did use 2-3 coats. Both ceilings turned out beautifully. The paint looks splotchy while it’s drying, but dries perfectly, hiding all brush strokes and what appeared to be uneven coverage when wet.

We are extremely disappointed in the quality of this paint. We were fans of Clark+Kensington paints up until this purchase. We had painted 6 rooms in our home with this paint in the last 10 years, with most of the rooms only requiring 1 coat to provide excellent coverage.

We are CERTAIN the formulation of this paint has changed. We purchased 2 cans recently to cover approx. 600 sq ft of space. One can is supposed to cover approx. 400-450 sq ft, so we had hoped we would have some leftover to do spot coverage if needed in the future.

The paint does not spread well at all, whether you are using a roller or a brush. We had purchased high quality trim brushes, and ended up having to purchase different rollers because the paint was coming off the wall as we were rolling it on! We have found that it has taken not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR COATS to cover a neutral beige that was on the wall, with a neutral off-white.

In other words, we are not trying to cover a dark color! This is ridiculous, expensive and very time-consuming! Please look elsewhere for a paint that is higher quality, because this is no longer that kind of product.

We have done numerous painting projects with many different brands of paint in the last 30 years, none have caused as much frustration or been as costly as this paint.

Over the last 30 year I have painted four homes top to bottom. I have used most ever brand of paint…Sherwin Williams, Behr, Valsphar, Pratt Lambert, Pittsburgh, etc. I brought Clark and Kensington recently because I was having trouble finding the right color.

Though the color was perfect, there is NOTHING I MEAN NOTHING flat about their “flat” paint. It has shine and has the appearance of an eggshell or satin. The paint was bought for a room that I wanted a flat appearance.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Over 45 years of painting home interiors, I have never had a reaction to painting before. Used this product (Clark+Kensington semi gloss) ended up with severe cold/flu like symptoms – severe throat and lung irritant – cough so bad had to go to Dr.

– issued prescriptions of prednisone, and Benzonatate, plus 1 other. Only painted 1 bathroom and 1 small laundry room – used 1 gallon and it had this effect. 🙁 3 weeks of feeling sick and still lingering).
