20 Best White For Trim (2022 Updated)

This product is overpriced at $30/qt. It can be purchased elsewhere for $18. 00. I was trying to buy a gallon rather than a quart. After searching for prices which were about $35/gal. elsewhere, I found this.

I assumed it was a gallon and did not read carefully enough. So, it was my fault for not being thorough.

When I saw the price for this paint, I thought the price was too good to be true. In spite of looking I didn’t spot the reason for the low price. As soon as I received the product, it was obvious. This is a quart, not a gallon.

Of course, if you look closely enough it does say quart way down in the information. Stupid me for not digging deeper. However, that information needs to be in the product title, “Quart of Zinsser 03104 Perma-White.

Best mildew resistant paint, that i have found. Paint it white and it stays white. No green or black stuff growing on it. I live 30 minutes north of New Orleans, where the humidity stays high and it is hard to keep outdoor areas from growing green algae, but this stuff works.

Goes on and cleans up like any other latex paint.

Looks like and smells like Elmer’s Glue (PVA). It’s very thick, which is good, but I was surprised at the amount of spattering I got. When the roller was just loaded, I had to roll very slowly or I’d end up with a shower of tiny white drops.

This is very different, for example, from a Valspar ceiling paint I’ve tried before, which was much thinner, pretty much like normal paint, but at least it wouldn’t rain down when rolled. And for the super-inflated price I paid for it, $60, I really expected better.

Bought a month ago. I have always liked Behr and loved the idea of a Paint plus Primer. However, this has not been a good one for us. We bought the 18. 9L for the main floor of our 2000 square foot home.

We don’t even have that much wall space. However, we’ve had to put up to 3 coats to adequately cover an off white painted walls. We’ve tried different roller covers to varying degrees of success. Once we got full cover, it’s a nice bright white.

We’ve had so many colours over the 20 years and it’s funny that we’ve come full circle back to plain white and I love it.

I recommend that you go with the best quality paint for your house. This paint is easy to use. It does not need a lot of Coats to cover your walls. I like my paint semi glossy so I can clean it if it gets dirty.

There is different finishes for different parts of the house. I always recommend behr paint because it’s very durable and high quality paint. I have had so much fun remodeling my home choosing colors and styles.

I am not done yet I still have my son’s room too do and my RR! I am beyond excited to choose a look and style for his room.

I recently decided to redo an old vanity that was broken down and basically taking up space in my shed. (Pic on the right) well let me just tell ya folks I think I went a little over board🤔!!! After measuring and cutting the pieces that were missing I bought some behr premium paint and asked the store to make it a very specific shade of pink (pic on the left) After just one coat of the Behr paint I had complete coverage.

But I didn’t stop there folks oh no I also bought a couple bottle of Glitterific acrylic [brand:glitter] paint and started painting [brand:glitter] on the top and sides of the vanity. Unfortunately I was not getting the amount of [brand:glitter] coverage that I was hoping for.

Soooo I decided to buy some loose [brand:glitter] and some mod Podge. Oh boy!!!!! It sure sparkles. You can’t tell from the picture but this thing blings like I stole it from the Smithsonian. My daughters absolutely adore it.

I definitely recommend the behr premium paint for the awesome coverage. I also recommend mod Podge and loose [brand:glitter] if your trying to make something sparke a little [brand:glitter].

I normally do not do reviews on line but, this sparked me to give one. I do not know what Glidden is doing to their paint. I have never had a problem until I used this particular paint. This has got to be the worst paint I have purchased from Glidden , EVER !! I have read other reviews on other web sites with the same problem.

I figured must have been bad preparation or have never painted before. Well , I was wrong I purchased the High endurance with primer custom color. Does not hide on first coat. Do not re- roll once you put it on.

The walls were light pale blue eggshell , and spot pre primed after repairs made, and it will sporadically pull off of the existing paint and primer re-rolling over it. You can not even roll in different directions spreading out the paint and roller lines without it pulling off after it sits about a minute while rolling out the wall.

I know what Glidden will say bad preparation, bad roller cover , or something on the wall to cause the pulling. Well Glidden PVA drywall primer latex was used as a primer over drywall repairs , walls sanded scratch coat to remove dust and dirt previously painted over , washed down with warm soapy water , dried 24 hrs and painted.

Used a Wooster 3/8 nap roller cover. I have spent the last 40 years as a home improvement contractor painting with many products. From the very expensive to the bottom line paints. I was stuck because I ran out of Behr , so I purchased this paint.

Behr was definitely a one coat no pulling off the wall paint no matter how may times you rolled over it. My camera is broken on my phone or I would have given pictures. Sorry ! I am very dissatisfied with Glidden now.

Almost $ 60. 00 dollars wasted on 2 Gallons of paint and a trip to Home Depot now an hour away.

Amazing paint & primer in one! I was covering over a large red wall and thought it would be a nightmare to cover but I was pleasantly surprised. It actually covered well with just one coat, but I painted two coats and only used half of one gallon.

As each coat was drying, it looked streaky but dries beautifully and quickly. It was my first-time using Benjamin Moore paint and I would highly recommend the paint and primer in one. It saves a lot of time not having to put a separate primer on first.

The wall looks beautiful!.

Coatings marketed as paint and primer are misleading including the Ben Moore Regal line. This is a decent paint but not a $60 per gallon paint. I had several discussions with the product technical support group and they were quite helpful however by their own admission said to achieve satisfactory results a primer is recommended and generally two color coats required.

Didn’t come close to the 400 to 450 square foot coverage stated in the specs.

Purchased this base 4 paint in Emerald Isle color, both 1 gallon and a sample for my son to see before committing. I noticed that the sample seemed thin and I could see every brush stroke on the wall.

This was not the case on my daughter’s room using the same paint, but a base 1. Went ahead and purchased a gallon of each (pink for her). My daughter’s room barely needed a second coat. However, on the very first cut with the green, I could see the brush strokes again.

Rolled on the first coat and hoped it would blend when dry. Nope. Every roller line could be seen and lots of spots with no paint coverage, like it just pulled away. Tried a second coat, same result.

I had just enough to try a 3rd coat the next day with everything dry. Slightly better, but still many spots with poor coverage. It is either the color or the base 4 paint since I did not have the problem with the base 1 “Pretty Pink”.

Either way, for the price, this should not require 4 coats of paint. I’d never buy this again. Behr is less expensive and I painted every room in my last house with no issues. Stay away.

I used Beyond Paint in Pewter to cover kitchen cabinets that had a very old and flaking finish. Because the original finish was failing and very uneven I elected to sand and scrape those areas where I would not have a good bond.

This was not a complete removal of the old schelac finish but just enough to encourage a good adherence of the Beyond Paint. I used a small foam type roller on the doors and drawer fronts and a good quality brush to get at areas that were not accessible with the roller.

I applied two coats of the product which provided nice full color coverage. The thick consistency is somewhat gel like and as a result I had almost no drips or difficulty in achieving excellent results.

After a day or two if curing, I was able to install new hardware that required drilling new holes. I had no trouble getting clean drill holes in the paint with no peeling or flaking. I believe that a 30 day cure period will be best for getting the most durable finish.

I have painted kitchen cabinets with other types of paint and I think I will reach for the beyond paint product whenever I need to paint cabinets in the future.

I painted 2 large nightstands that were mahogany. I used linen. The color was more like pebble with lots of grey/ grieve. Nort what I wanted or saw in sample. It took 3 coats and still wasn’t fully covered.

I sanded it lightly, and used another 2 coats of eggshell paint from Sherwin Williams to get the color I wanted. Now I am happy. You MUST use 3/4” cloth roller ( I used 4”), to get good coverage. Brushes were not good no matter what kind I tried.

They only r good to get paint in grooves, then u must go over with a roller to smooth the finish. Did painting five coats save me time? I don’t think do. It also scratch off after second coat by accident.

I would not trust this on cabinets that r used frequently. It would be ok to repaint lighter wood furniture. I like the finish better than chalk paint not so flat.

If you have plenty of time to complete your project, then these products may be for you. The paint is a pudding consistency and should be used with light coats. The paint should be left to dry for no less than 24 hours.

Longer drying time than 24 hours is better. The Beyond Paint Sealer needs a full 3 days or more of curing time. If it comes I to contact with water before it’s fully cured, it will blush. After curing, it will deliver a fairly durable finish for every day use but will not stand up to abuse, such as knives, sharp objects or abrasives coming into contact with it.

Follow all directions when using the Beyond Paint products!.

I have done a lot of painting. While I have been happy with Behr flat latex paints and recommend them this enamel paint was disappointing. I found that the flow out was terrible and had brush and lap marks all over especially on vertical surfaces.

Plan B. I painted the remaining door casings in a horizontal position before installing them. It was better. However it was laid on heavy to get satisfactory results. When I tried this technique on the vertical planes I was getting runs and when I tried to brush them out it looked worse.

There’s little time to work with this paint. I know its latex and you shouldn’t over work it. When doing the ceiling in the bathroom I kept a wet leading edge and still had roller marks all over. Just couldn’t get it to flow or blend.

Double checked the instructions on the can and was satisfied that was using the correct nylon brush.

Luckily I didn’t read all the reviews before I bought this paint. I picked it because I thought it’s high gloss and Sherwin Williams? I painted my walk in closet which had been painted a very dark mustard color when I bought the house.

I wanted a bright white for walls and shelving units. This not only rolled on and covered beautifully. I used a roller and a brush with no issues. The shelving units I brushed but then sprayed with a paint sprayer to catch any other spots I couldn’t brush – it looks beautiful.

I am not a professional painter but have painted my houses inside and outside so I know a thing or two. Not sure if the people with problems didn’t get this paint shaken/ mixed enough or not. I also bought my paint in gallon size.

I noticed some people said that they had bought smaller batches? Sorry others found this had issues. I was lucky but I also live where this is little Humidity and that always affects paint. I recommend this paint and have not had issues.

We recently did some master bathroom remodeling after a water pipe burst in our home and flooded the entire interior of our home with 3 inches of water throughout. We were thrilled to find that Sherwin Williams had gorgeous, on-trend colors for our complete home remodel.

We selected SW7649-Silverplate as the color for the bathroom. The color completely exceeded our expectations! It is just beautiful. The Sherwin Williams website was so extremely helpful in choosing a paint color.

We loved that we could select a color and then see what the color looked like in a room on the website before actually painting our home. We are so impressed with Sherwin Williams paint colors. Now we have started to select colors for painting the rest of the interior of our home!.

It was the recommendation given me first and that alone was the only product I painted the one bedroom condo unit that for a few upgrades, it was a continued knowing the quality last and even coverag assured.

I had close to 30 years paid on that unit mortgage besides onset monthly maintenance $83 now is $260 as well as was work force 55+ years and for the last three years without a bed, fridge, bathroom or a landlord on a secure future plan into my senior years.

I rented unit for three years from buyers who flipped between four investors to outprice my ability to remain in unit I put many improvement efforts in. I need a place and Orlando, FL is calling me. Could you find my new walls and secure a landlord for solo restricted income senior?.

Used the BM paint to do the doors on our total kitchen remodel. Extremely satisfied with this product.

I chose this for our kitchen cabinets, based on the recommendation of the paint department employee at Ace. I’ve used better paint and I expected more out of this paint. It seemed easy to apply at first, but it’s temperamental in humid weather.

Hard to keep a wet edge. I used a shade of white on my uppers and that covered nicely in two coats. I chose a medium blue / gray shade for the lowers and it seemed much thinner. The darker shade is not durable.

It rubs right off edges or any spot that needs a little scrubbing. With 2 kids using the kitchen I’m touching up bald spots fairly often. (it was painted over a year ago. ) Probably needs a clear coat to protect the paint.

The white uppers seems to be wearing better, but I’m noticing the paint beginning to crack. I miss oil based paints.

The paint is great. You should buy it. Just don’t buy it from Miramar. Still waiting on 2 gallons I ordered weeks ago. Contacted customer service over a week ago and have heard crickets since then. Would definitely consider NOT using Miramar again for my paint needs – which is a lot since I have a painting company.

Thankfully there are a million other place to buy paint from. Who needs Miramar? Not me.

I purchased this paint after months of researching how to properly paint kitchen cabinets. I’ve never used Benjamin Moore paint before and after this experience I never will again. So many people raved about BM Advance and it’s mentioned on many major home improvement blogs and how-to’s, including This Old House.

Well, I must’ve got a bad can of paint or I just really, really suck at painting because this product is pure garbage and does not live up to my hype. It took THREE coats to hide all the streaks, despite my meticulous effort of washing everything with degreaser, two coats of white Zinsser Cover Stain primer and sanding twice.

It probably could use four coats, but I threw in the towel. I used high quality, new Purdy XL Glide brushes for the project as I was not able to use rollers. The first coat looked abysmal (like a child painted with their fingers) after I waited the 16 hours that’s recommended before adding the second coat.

The second coat didn’t look much better and there was still too much bleed through. It probably could use four coats but I threw in the towel at three. Complete waste of time!! I could’ve purchased a different paint, finished days sooner and have better results no doubt.

I also find it extremely odd that if you go on BM’s website they claim no one in a 50-mile radius of Milwaukee sells this paint.

It made me sick because I didn’t have enough ventilation. A good facemask (P95 or better) would also be advised. The paint does cover really well.

We decided to try Lick to redecorate the whole of our 2 bed flat (roughly 900 sq ft). We bought 8 cans of paint in total which mostly did the trick. We needed 2 coats of paint everywhere. Things we loved: -The samples.

So simple. Perfect match. Easily peeled on and off the wall and moved around the house. -The selection. A million paint samples is overwhelming, Lick has already curated a perfect blend of stunning trendy colours for you, so you don’t have to spend days choosing the perfect white, they’ve done that for you.

-Branding. Sexy right? Super cute and very appealing to the eye. Things we didn’t like: – Price. I mean come on, 8 cans wound up costing us £304. All in all the paint is nice, rolls on well and gets good coverage but is not some magical mixture that makes it twice as valuable as most other market paints.

– We weren’t sure how much we needed so wound up having to order 2/3 times, which made the wait to get paint quite frustrating. We also had some delays on our order so we wound up waiting 5 days to receive our second order when we were in the middle of the painting.

The flat was left a tip of course as we couldn’t put everything away until the job was done. – The tin itself, is cute. Lovely little handle. But the spout it worse than your average paint tin. Honestly, this didn’t bug us tremendously, but other reviews commented on how great the spout was, so thought it was worth highlighting.

All in all, we wouldn’t use Lick again unless we were doing a very small job i. e painting a set of drawers etc. It’s far easier and more economical for larger jobs, to pop down to your local paint shop to get what you need.

We were super excited to try the Lick product as I love your colours and everyone has been raving about how easy and well it applies. We found this wasn’t the case. First layer was very patchy. It took 3 layers to create a unified build up and admittedly the finished application looks great and has a beautiful matt quality but we found ourselves feeling lucky that it was only a small room we were painting and that we were only painting to a certain height.

I am extremely happy with the colour and cannot wait to get the room dressed as i know it is going to look spectacular and has really changed the entire feel of my basement guestroom / home office. We are just slightly underwhelmed with the actual painting experience after hearing so much hype.

My house has all of the inside doors and trim painted white. I have dogs that scratch on the doors. Over time, the paint on the doors has been scratched off by them. I got this HGTV Home, Sherwin-Williams – door & trim Acrylic Urethane Enamel paint to see if it would cover up the missing paint.

It worked amazingly well! The paint went on smoothly and gave the door a beautiful, satiny shine. I ended up touching up the trim along with the doors. The best part is it cleans up with soap and water! I highly recommend this Sherwin- Williams Door & Trim Acrylic Urethane Enamel paint.

Coverage is great, goes on easily and smoothly and leaves a very nice appearance to the doors and trim!.

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams – Door & Trim Acrylic Urethane Enamel paint makes my doors and trim look like they were done by a professional. This is thicker so I can use fewer coats to get the same beautiful results as using more.

This is easy to apply and comes out smooth and without brush marks. I love that this is 100% acrylic formula and can be soap and water cleaned up, is non-yellowing, and is very durable. This is good for in or outdoor use and delivers a showroom finish that only Sherwin Williams can deliver.

I can see that this will be my go-to Door and Trim paint that will keep my house looking great for years to come.

The color is nice. That is it. I was using it on an old metal cabinet that had been thoroughly cleaned and dried. The paint went on and seemed to repel as I sprayed and even though I was going lightly the first time around it still dripped horribly.

I didnt know what to do so I was dabbing at these drips hoping next pass would be different. It was getting worse. I called my husband in to help and he couldn’t believe how bad the product was behaving.

Now there are some dried lumps I have to scrape off and I ran out of the paint so I have to invest more money into this junk to finish my project. While that was drying I painted the inside of the shelf with a White for contrast by Rustoleum and it came out perfect.

So it is definitely this product.

I was very pleased with this product. The color was very opaque bright, which worked well with the color palette I wanted. It was very easy to use. I wish there were more nozzle options for this brand in a larger color selection.

Either way, it performs decent for what you pay. I will continue using this brand in the future for my artistic needs :D.

Okay so first off I am a Foreman for asplundh tree expert company. If anybody has worked for this company they know that some of their trucks are very old and are complete rust buckets. and if you have any pride in your work you want your truck to look good but trying to find an orange paint that matched up was nearly impossible until we came across this.

it is almost a near-identical match to the orange we need. Reading the reviews I found it funny that so many people say that this paint runs terribly and is transparent and not the color it’s supposed to be.

I don’t think there is any such thing as a paint that runs terribly there is a such thing as a person who doesn’t know how to spray paint and apply it in the correct way. When used correctly in several very light coats and this again could be up to 6 + very light coats it doesn’t run a bit just like any spray paint jobs of any brand paint that I’ve ever done.

The end result is a very rich deep color orange that matches the Asplundh orange trucks perfectly! So before you go complaining about a product and saying it’s garbage try and figure out how to actually apply in the correct way.

I have been using Sherwin Williams as long as I can remember. My dad painted houses in the summers when off from teaching and I often tagged along an helped. I remember him always stressing the importance of buying good paint and how much easier it is to apply and how it will last.

When I 1st married 30+ yrs ago, my husband bought me paint and it was not Sherwin Williams. When helping him paint, I could tell the difference! When I have bought paint over the years I have always bought Sherwin Williams.

He is not one to usually do the painting, but when we redid a kids room into an office, he picked up a brush and roller and helped with the walls, ceiling and doors. He was sold! He could not believe how easily it applied and vented his frustration for having used poor quality paint previously when he repainted the 6 panel doors in our house! He knows why I have insisted on the best paint around now and I know he will never question where I get my paint again!.

We bought this paint yesterday when we weren’t able to find Zinsser ceiling paint that we needed to finish a project. The portions of our ceiling that we painted with Zinsser hid stains and coated drywall beautifully in a single coat.

Places where we used HGTV Sherwin Williams ceiling paint did not cover in two coats, even though it guaranteed one coat coverage and did not recommend primer use. You can clearly see joint compound seams and other sections of ceiling are brown and look unpainted despite the two coats we applied.

We are going to be looking for a new replacement for the Zinsser product that is not currently available.

We bought a new built home and the builder and crew did a horrible job on the ceilings! I never imagined myself painting it by hand. Our living room is also the entryway too and it was the worst spray area.

I couldn’t live with it. I went and bought your excellent ceiling paint and decided I would conquer all the ceilings on the main floor. I was truly amazed by the great coverage and ease of painting with your product! My husband was also shocked by my finished product.

I wouldn’t use anything else and I have recommend it often and not just the ceiling paint to friends, family and even people in the store.

Using this paint to repaint our deck railings. Going great so far. I’ve somewhat sanded the flat areas, not stripped. Looking good so far. I have not sanding the smaller railings and the paint seems to be covering just fine.

It’s easy to paint with. I will need to to a second coat in a few places but that’s it. I’ll be using Ben paint again.

This paint is see-through! It’s so expensive and in the past I have always loved Benjamin Moore paint but why is this paint see-through? How many coats of it am I going to have to put on before I can’t see the paint that is underneath it? Some of the pain underneath it is white and some of the paint underneath it is light green and in both cases I can see through this paint after two coats!.

My son bought this paint and had the color matched to a doorframe. He bought it to paint the front door which is metal. He said it’s the best paint he’s ever used! He mentioned how well it goes on and how smooth the surface is.
