20 Best White Noise Fan (2022 Updated)

I would recommend this product to anyone that needs and extra bit of help ignoring noise while trying to sleep. It took my hyper active brain a few days to get used to it but it is now a solid part of my routine.

As soon as I turn it on at night I go right to sleep. That being said, this little buddy is just a glorified fan and not particularly hardy, so it may not be worth the price if you can adquire/have need of a loud fan.

The first thing I had to do when I got it was open it up (it comes open quite easily) to fix an obnoxious rattling sound. I just had tighten the bolt holding the fan blades in place to keep them from rattling about and it now runs smoothly.

I anticipate that I will have to do this every couple of months as the bolts loosen up.

There is something. I want to say it’s almost magical. about the sound of this thing: it puts me to sleep and keeps me there. For me, it’s the LOW setting. Maybe if there was a lot of ambient/disturbing noise in the room I’d need to use the HIGH setting.

Anyway. I’ve never slept so well and after a couple weeks now, its magical sleep-inducing powers are undiminished. Perhaps I’ve just hypnotized myself with it, but who cares? I’m sleeping GREAT!.

I like this thing so much better than the more common electronic sound machines. There’s no high-pitched speaker whine, no DC transformer to buzz or shed heat, no unintentionally cyclical recorded audio clips.

All you get is a soft whooshing sound and limitless ways to tweak the pitch and volume. Fit and finish are excellent; the parts fit together well and it feels solid without being heavy. Also, it’s smaller than I had originally visualized, at about 4″ tall by 5″ diameter — about the size of a tall soup bowl, perhaps.

I’ve never owned a tower fan before, prior to this one, and I was hesitant to purchase this one at first as it was a bit pricey. However, I read reviews until my eyes bled and decided to go for it. I’m glad that I did.

The fan is well constructed and the base is weighted enough to prevent it from wobbling or moving around. The blades of the fans make noise, obviously, but it’s nowhere near the levels that a traditional box fan or standard oscillating fan make.

This means that you’re able to have a normal conversation without having to yell over the noise while still enjoying pleasant air circulation in whatever room you want it in. My fiancee and I typically run the fan at night while we are sleeping to keep the room cool and cancel out other noise that might disturb our sleep with the white noise that the fan creates.

It works great. There are several modes that you can use the fan for and you have the ability to control all 3 fans being on or off, the speed at which they move, as well as other things you’d associate with a fan.

It also has a timer which is pretty cool if you’re into that sort of thing. We’ve had this fan for a year+ now and have had zero issues with it. It does exactly what I expected, when I need it, and it’s slender enough to move out of the way when not in use.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to venture into the world of tower fans or if you’re already a tower fan. fan?.

My apologies for the cheesy play on words in this review’s title, but truly. this is the best fan I’ve ever used. Because it’s quite thin and the actual fans themselves are quite small, I honestly didn’t expect much power out of it.

Boy, was I wrong. Even at low or medium, it really gives out quite a decent amount of air and really helped cool the room. I like it’s sleek design— looks so much nicer than your typical fan, and takes up less room too, which is great for my small house.

The remote is a great bonus as well making it really easy to switch out modes and speeds or to make it swivel or not. The downside is that the remote is small, so I’ll inevitably misplace it often, but that’s not a huge deal at all.

I must admit, I didn’t particularly care to use the various settings for a beachy breeze or nighttime, which make the fan alternate speeds but the rest of my family loved it, so that’s definitely a nice feature to those who prefer it.

The fan in also quite quiet, moreso than others I’ve used in the past. I can’t tolerate a ton of background noise, so this again was a huge plus. Overall, this fan is a must have, I want one for each room now!.

I’ve had this fan for three months and I love it so much. It is the best and most beautiful fan we have ever had. First, it has a small footprint and is so elegant and well designed that it can sit anywhere in the room, even on top of the coffee table, and look beautiful and unobtrusive.

The fan is brilliantly designed and easy to move. You can easily hold onto the top of the fan with one hand (there is a smooth little ledge, like a handle), and you place your other hand into the opening in the stand, which is also smooth and pleasant to grasp.

The open stand is lightweight, well balanced, and never falls off. The controls on the top of the unit are intuitive and easy to use. Tap one button to turn it on; tap another button to activate the rotation; tap a third button to change the speed.

I am usually quite lazy to make reviews but I spent so much time deliberating on this purchase that I had to come back to review. I have a honeywell portable heater that I absolutely loved so I said why not give their fans a try.

I literally can’t find one bad thing to say about this fan. it is sleek and visually appealing. very lightweight and easy to transport. has a remote which makes it super convenient and a little slot at the back of fan to store it when it’s not in use or you just don’t want it laying around.

It has 5 speeds and even the lowest speed gives you a gently cool. compared to many fans it is extremely quiet. each speed gets increasingly stronger in wind and a little louder. the highest speed is still quite quiet however.

this is indeed one of the quietest fans I’ve ever bought and strangely the higher speeds almost have an Air conditioner effect. it really cools. Assembly was also super easy. do not even think twice.

Just buy it.

I am a pregnant lady just trying to survive the Florida heat. This fan has been a lifesaver! Even though we keep the AC turned down at night, I have been sweating in my sleep so I wanted to try a fan.

Picked this one and have been very happy with it. I have it pointed directly at me on the “Calm” setting all night (and during midday naps). It emits a smooth, low level white noise which is perfect as it drowns out some road noise but I don’t hear the fan at all.

I really, really love this. I’m not sweating into my pillow anymore, its quiet and the perfect amount of breeze. I have not used the oscillation or timer settings, I don’t need them. I just want a simple on/off fan with higher and lower fan settings.

I will say though, the remote control is clunky and doesn’t always work as it should. For example, when I go to turn it off, the first click turns the fan up higher, the second click turns it off. Not sure why, but I tend to not use the remote anyways.

Not perfect, but perfect enough for what I need!.

It has five level settings and the sound is so low to the point of quietness it provides comfort of air without the loud blowing sounds which is perfect. It fits perfectly on a small table top or desk.

It has an auto timer as well if you want to use it. You do not have to put it together already ready to use and go. Great for those hot days. Overall great fan to have!.

My home is really small so I’m always looking for a way to save space. It gets very hot in my city and I needed something extra to help keep me cool. I found this and not only does it help keep me cool but it is also a huge space saver.

Even though this fan is small it puts out an impressive amount of cool air, I also like that there are no knobs to change to speed, it’s all buttons!.

The Honeywell QuietSet fan is great. It has 5 different modes, each resulting in a different level of speed and white noise. It is oscillating also. I would definitely recommend this fan to anyone looking for a small fan to use especially at night, to keep near your bed.

Such a great sound machine! I got this to replace my 6 year old Dohlm noise machine, which had gotten so clogged up with dust and the track for the ball bearings had broken, and it made a repetitive noise that make it hard to sleep.

I had done a lot of research on which machine would be best and I wanted something solid state, that I wouldn’t have to take apart and clean as I live in a city and keep the windows open in summer and fall.

I’ve had this LectroFan for a few weeks now and it’s incredible! There are so many types of sounds to choose from and the volume can get very loud. The sounds also do a great job of masking unwanted noise, rather than just adding a fan hum to it.

I’m not sure how long these last, but they seem very worth the investment. They’re also smaller than I thought and go with any kind of decor. Definitely get this!.

I love this machine! I ended up buying a bunch of them to keep at places I stay regularly & a couple of back ups. I’ve been using/needing white noise since I was a teenager and have used the tv static and fan noise for a good 25 years.

I knew there were machines that have white noise etc but they never seem to have much variety of the particular sound I need. After googling recently I discovered this one which has heaps of variations of the white noise i like.

It’s heaven. I am using the deeper more base sounding fan and it blocks out more than ever before. I haven’t heard the garbage trucks come since I bought these. Even the birds outside my window don’t wake me now.

I just make sure it’s next to my bed on the window side so it’s like a buffer. Its nice and small but gives great sound.

This noise machine is so good. This is the 2nd one I’ve bought. The first one still works but I made the mistake of taking the electrical cord out of the bottom of the machine every time I took it somewhere.

This caused a bit of a short in the wires and sometimes it shuts itself off in the night. Learned my lesson and I will leave the cord attached on the new one. It fits perfectly in the carry container, that I bought separately, without detaching the cord.

No more being sick from having the fan blowing on me all night. This machine is worth every cent you pay for it.

This is a great deal on a quality product if you can get it refurbished. I got it to reduce noise getting out of my apartment. I have pets and this machine has reduced my neighbors complaining about the noise.

It also drowns out the creaking sounds of the flooring. It’s small, constructed as a high quality electronic device. The best thing is it’s features. It has both white noise settings and fan settings in a perfect variety of sounds.

And the volume can go up loud if you need to. It can play continuously or shut off automatic after 60 minutes.

Not cheap for a sound machine but you get what you pay for, this is a quality item. Can’t speak for durability as only had it a couple of weeks, but sound quality is great and the number of sound options are more than adequate.

After mucking around for months with an Echo Dot that would turn itself off randomly, the LectroFan is a wonder, lovely consistent sound all night long. Recommended!.

Reminds me of a Bose speaker. Small, heavy and very high quality sound. 10 fan sounds and 10 white noise with volume adjustable. Found the best sound to cancel out the low pitched industrial droning noise that kept me awake, then reduced the volume to the lowest I needed.

Sleep! Perfect!.

It paid for itself by keeping me sane! When I am trying to sleep and there is any type of noise not letting me sleep (i. e. Lawn mower, dogs barking or a noisy house) this drowns out all that ruckus.

Seldom do I fall asleep without turning this on and never do I travel without this incredible device! There is such a range of sonic hues that calling it a white noise machine is a disservice: in addition to the 10 white, pink, and brown noise variations, there are two ocean surf sounds and 10 fan sounds.

This means that there is a frequency to match any sound(s) you’re trying to block out. And block it out it will— this thing gets LOUD. Snoring partner? A thing of the past. Noisy street or highway noise? Gone.

Noisy neighbors late at night? Gone. Early morning lawn maintenance crew? Gone. Hotel elevator or ice machine noise? Where? Noisy HVAC system? Not here. This thing is marvelous and for a light sleeper, it’s a revelation.

This is a great product. It’s lightweight, compact, the sounds that it produces can be really loud and efficient(most of them are like a “wall”, they won’t let anything pass through, except for loud thumping(although I don’t think there is any solution to cover up these kind of noise)).

It also has a large variety of sounds and I think it’s impossible to not find at least one to your liking. The item that I got looks as brand new, without any signs of wear and tear, although it’s an used one.

The power consumption is very low(about 2. 5 Watts at the highest volume). I hope it will last for a while, because I use it with care, I never unplug it(only use the on/off button), I do not fiddle with the cable(which is pretty fragile) and I only turn it on at low/medium volume.

It worked flawlessly up to this point. If it lasts for a long time, than this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on ebay. Thank you.

This little machine works perfect, we own a duplex and our tenant gets up for work at 6am. Although she tries to be quiet there is some floor noise. We used to turn on a fan every night but during the winter the accompanying breeze is not always welcome.

We set the Lectro Fan to the sound of our fan and we sleep soundly until we want to get up. On weekends when she doesn’t get up early we listen to ocean waves all night. We love this little gadget!.

I have owned an older model of this fan for over a decade. I have dragged it with me everywhere. It’s been abused and neglected more often than not. It has always held up well, continued working, and most important of all, was effective.

Knowing that I invested in a new one, the only real difference being and more modern remote. The new one operates as good as the old one. It works very well in a small to midsize room or when you need to direct air to a specific area.

Glad I bought it.

I bought this when my air conditioning went out during a heat wave. I have asthma and it was so hard to breathe with my old box fan plus that thing makes a racket the neighbors can hear. This takes up less real estate, is super quiet, really moves the air and makes the room more comfortable.

Even on high you can still watch tv without busting out eardrums. You couldn’t do that with my old box fan! The remote is excellent but in honestly we’ve rarely used it. I expect that it will get more use in time but right now, we tend to turn it on and leave it alone.

But I love that the remote stays attached until I need it. My family has a habit of losing everything!! This way they can’t, but I’m sure they will try. The functions are all very easy to operate and it was a very quick job to put together.

I’ve had cereal boxes that were harder! Writing this review, I might have convinced myself to buy another one!.

This fan meets one criteria I wanted. It is mostly white. But the cord and the remote are black. And that is just irritating. It would benefit a lot from having a white cord for the looks. The photo here does not really show that the vent grid is silver matching the LASKO lettering on the medallion.

The blades inside are black so it’s a bit more contrast than the photo. This fan is not quiet and does not move much air. It does have a small footprint. It serves one use in my home, to blow air six feet away over the person at the kitchen sink without blocking a door.

It can do that. It is a very weak fan, I cannot see using this in a large room. i do not think it is suitable for a bedroom as it is loud, especially for the small amount of air it moves. Or rather does not move.

I think I have mentioned that. Setting one is almost useless, it has to be on #2 or #3. I’m not sure if it is by design or by defect, but it does not oscillate through a very wide angle, maybe 45 to 60 degrees at most.

It was very easy to put together, less than five minutes and very obvious. You can’t clean it easily as nothing comes apart, so plan on compressed air to dust it out. It doesn’t seem all that sturdy.

This is my first LASKO brand fan and it is underwhelming. Don’t expect too much.

When I first opened the packaging, I was unsure of the sound machine. It’s very lightweight and feels pretty flimsy compared to the skip hop portable owl sound machine. After using it for the first time, I can see it’s not flimsy at all.

It’s a pretty powerful sound machine. It has the ring which allows you to attach it to the stroller or car seat. There are different volume settings and it can get pretty loud. The best feature in my humble opinion is the fact that it’s rechargeable! I put the skip hop on my registry because it was a registry “fave”.

While it’s nice and easy to carry around, it uses up a lot of battery. It requires 3 AAA batteries which I don’t normally have lying around the house. Once the battery on that is dying, it will stop playing white noise and starts playing a musical melody.

I use the Hatch sound machine in my bedroom but didn’t want to keep moving it around the house for naps during the day. So this is where the portable sound machine comes in. I can use it in the nursery, living room, kitchen, and on the go without needing to worry about battery life.

It charges quickly at night when we switch over to the Hatch.

The advantage to using the YOGASLEEP Dohm is that the sound is mechanical. What I mean by that is that there are actual moving parts (it’s safe) that generate a whirring sound. It is very consist ant and theoretically changes with the movement of air in the room.

The mechanical motion of the machine creates a beautiful sound wave that has a natural curve. Most sound machines are a digital file played over a speaker. If the digital file is short or low quality, you will hear imperfections, which drives people like me crazy! We really enjoy the Dohm and the added feature of auto-turn on at night time is really helpful.

The only complaint I have is that if you manually turn on the device, sometimes it will forget to turn on at its regular time the next night – a simple bug fix.

I saw my friend with on of these on her baby carrier. I was interested because with my last baby I would use my phone but that isn’t always convenient. This thing is great for on the go or just everyday nightly use.

I use it every night. It is light weight and the volume can go surprisingly loud. I will use this for a few years at least. As long as it’s still working. My 4 year old still likes white noise too.

Good price for a good product.

My friend has this fan, which is why I bought it, she got hers years ago. Her’s compared to my new one, is better, even in an older condition!. This fan is cheap, and the remote is too small for the batteries that are suppose to go in it! I would not recommend this fan, it also isn’t loud enough.

There wasn’t much to choose from so I got it, but I had bought a Comfort Zone 14″ table fan first, that ended up being a piece of crap, I returned it, this Lasko floor fan is better, but not by much!.

I always go with Lasko for my pedestal fans and actually use them year round. I love the white noise and cool breeze in the winter and of course for air circulation and cooling in the summer months. My mistake was that when I read pedestal fan for this one I did not check how high it actually raised.

I have bought many from Lasko over the years and they all raised high. This one raises only 47 inches and the 47 inch mark is actually the top of the actual fan grill. This is like a mini floor fan. It is tiny.

It comes with a remote that works well thank goodness for the manual buttons are very low down on the fan and not easily accessible. I still have a Lasko pedestal fan I am using that is also a 16 inch and the difference in quality, durability and performance between the two is striking in a bad way.

This 1646 is made all around of very thin plastic. The thinness of the plastic the blade is made of helps the fan put out almost no quality air. I did find this fan easy to assemble and ran it next to my older fan.

That one has been tried and true and on the second level the fan is powerful and really hits me. With the 1646 I barely feel it. I laid on my bed with the 1646 on and it did nothing for me. I am really surprised at the lessening of quality with Lasko with this fan.

Some may say you get what you pay for but my other Lasko was in the same price range. If you want a small in size pedestal fan that provides minimal white noise and gentle air flow this may suit you.

Honestly my mini desk fan puts out more air. So if you are looking for a fan to help you through the warm and hot weather months this is not the fan. With the lack of quality in the plastic it just is not capable.

So not just that I was not a fan of the design. This fan just does not do as it advertises. And lastly and most important the pedestal pole when inserted in the base does not stay in place. I know how to install it.

I did it with my other fan. But it will not get securely in place. So every time I went to turn the knob for the height adjustment everything turned. Just cheaply made. I had to return it.

We actually tried & returned 2 of these units. First unit smelled like burning plastic every time we ran it. Exchanged for a different unit that ended up smelling the same way. Honeywell support was contacted for the smell issue, and their recommendation was to run outside for “up to 8-10 hours to eliminate the smell.

” So we ran the 2nd unit in the garage for 3-4 days and the unit still smelled like burning plastic. The 2nd unit was returned and we ended up getting a TaoTonics tower fan from amazon (that works great and doesn’t smell like it will catch on fire) instead.

My whole adult life I’ve been a white noise sleeper. My tool of choice has always been a box fan, or when I’m away, an app. This new Honeywell Dreamweaver Sleep Fan with Pink Noise comes very close to the best machine I’ve personally experienced with very few complaints.

Pros: -Small size. It’s quite compact and light. It can fit on a bedside table easily. -Powerful fan; optional wind. I set the fan up three feet from the end of my bed and could still feel the wind from it.

It also has a slide-down panel that you can close if you want the noise but not the fan. -USB port. You won’t lose a plug for charging since it has one built in. -Tilt base to put it into whatever position you like.

-Many different settings, including fan strength; auto-timer; icon light dimming (for darker rooms). Cons: -No remote. There is a model of this fan that comes with a remote. It really shouldn’t be offered without it, since it makes using it SO much easier.

-It does not save settings. Every time you turn it on, you have to adjust it to your personal preferences. It would be nice if it just saved it as a favorite. -The touch pad (the control pad for the fan) is extremely sensitive; so much that I’ve often messed up my settings while trying to press a button.

-Cosmetic. It would be nice if the fan were offered in other colors, or even white. Black , for me, is just so generic for appliances.

My daughter loves this fan. She has no need or want for the pink noise ( the sound is a constant hum, it isn’t excessive, just noise all the time, we just didn’t need it for that) but the way this fan is made, I knew it would be perfect for beside her bed.

My daughter overheats very easily. If it’s up to 50 degrees, she’s too hot. With this fan, there is a door to open an area to direct all the air. So if she gets hot she can point the air at her when she’s going to bed or working on her computer doing schoolwork without having to turn on the air-conditioning in the middle of winter.

You can close the vent/door and have the air blowing straight up. Which she does to circulate the air in her room. Three-speed fan, light dimmer, timer and it spins. You can also point it up down on the stand for wherever you want to air directed.

She loves this thing and I haven’t heard “I need the ac on” when everyone else is wearing sweaters!.

Bought this when my original quit working. This Fan was chosen because it was most like my original, which I must add lasted for over eight years and did a super job! It turned out that it is not anything like the old one and does not do the job either! It makes a humming sound that becomes unbearable and I have to turn it off! My purpose in having a standing fan is to offset the cost of running the AC, but that is not working at all because the fan does not do the job and drives me nuts with the humming! I advise anyone considering the purchase of one NOT to do it, for it is a piece of JUNK! In my opinion!! Stay cool by making a different choice.

I bought this fan to drown out the nighttime noise of apartment living. I’ve never been disappointed by the Lasko name and many of the online reviews said this fan was loud, so I bought it and didn’t mind paying a little more because I was desperate to get some sleep and the remote feature was pretty nice too.

I was really surprised at how flimsy the parts were when I took it out of the box. The fan was easy to put together and didn’t require any tools or strength, but there are no real fasteners anywhere so I’m afraid that it may fall apart when I pick it up or move it.

It is indeed very powerful and pretty loud – the whole thing leans back when turned on high. Another important note – the fan base is pretty big (close to 2 feet wide), so it’s like a piece of furniture in my bedroom.

I was tempted to return it, but I’ve slept so well the last few nights that I don’t want to let it go.

Took about 5 minutes to assemble the stand, motor, blade etc. and another 15 and a few choice words to snap the front grill on but it looks good and works fine in my new sunroom. Moves a good amount of air and is barely noticeable at low speed over the tv at normal volume.

A little more but tolerable noise and much more air movement at high speed. No wobble at all sitting on cut pile carpeting. The simple to operate remote is very hand as are the oscillation and adjustable tilt features.

DO BE AWARE that this 18” model is only 53 inches from floor to top of the grill which is about 20 inches in diameter with a base of about 20 inches which some may find makes it look a bit squat. Okay for my location but I may consider the 16” model if I decide to buy another one for a different room.

This fan is light weight. You must put it together but it’s easy to do. The fan speed is why I give it 3 stars. You can not feel the difference in air circulation from speed 1 to 3. All 3 blows the same speed.

Would not buy this again. I gave it to my mom to use in her kitchen when she’s cooking. It’ll move air but not blow everything around in the kitchen.

I AM GOING TO LEAVE MY INITIAL REVIEW, JUST BELOW, BUT WANT TO EXPLAIN MY IRE. ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS JUST PUT ONE OF THESE FANS, ALSO IN BLACK, OUT AS A ”FREE FOR THE TAKING. ” SINCE I WAS PLANNING TO GET ANOTHER FAN, MOST PROBABLY ONE OF THESE, FOR THE GUEST BEDROOM, I TOOK IT HOME.

AND THEN I DISCOVERED HOW THE MFGER HAS CHEAPENED DOWN THE DESIGN. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE SHAFT BETWEEN THE MECHANISM AND THE BASE USED TO BE ROUND, AS IT IS ON THE FREEBIE I JUST ACQUIRED. AND AT THE BOTTOM OF IT, THERE IS A “WRISTBAND” THAT IS ABOUT 1” TALL AND GOES ALL AROUND THAT SHAFT.

IT HAS SETTINGS FROM ZERO (WHICH IS THE OFF POSITION) TO FOUR, THUS ALLOWING FOR ALL THE SPEED OPTIONS THAT THE CURRENT MODEL PROVIDES. NO NEED TO REACH BEHIND TO ACCESS IT. IT IS DIRECTLY IN FRONT. ON THAT OLDER MODEL, THE ONLY NEED TO REACH BEHIND THE BLADES IS TO CHOOSE BETWEEN OSCILLATING AND NOT OSCILLATING.

HAVING TO KEEP REACHING BEHIND TO TURN MY FAN ON AND OFF HAS REALLY ANNOYED ME. I HAVE OWNED IT FOR OVER A MONTH AND A HALF AND MY IRRITATION HAS NOT DIMINISHED ONE BIT. HENCE MY REDUCTION TO THREE STARS, WHICH I REALLY OUGHT TO HAVE DONE ANYWAY AT THIS POINT.

I CONSOLE MYSELF WITH THE THOUGHT THAT THE UNIVERSE HAS GIVEN ME A CONSOLATION PRIZE. I WILL USE THIS NEW ONE IN MY BEDROOM AND GRACIOUSLY MAKE THE SWITCH TO THE GUEST BEDROOM WHEN IT IS OCCUPIED BY GUESTS.

WHICH COSTS MORE FOR SOME REASON. IS QUITE STYLISH, I THINK. THERE ARE NIGHTS WHEN I USE A FAN EVEN THOUGH IT ISN’T HOT. I LIKE THE AIR MOVEMENT AND THE WHITE NOISE. I HAVE BEEN USING MY OLD LASKO WINDOW FAN FOR AT LEAST 12 YEARS AND IT IS STILL FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY.

BUT, I NEEDED SOMETHING SMALLER FOR NIGHTS WHEN THE WINDOW IS CLOSED; IT JUST TAKES UP TOO MUCH ROOM. SO, I READ REVIEWS CAREFULLY AND DECIDED TO STICK WITH LASKO. I BOUGHT THE BLACK ONE. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS FAN’S INITIAL OPERATION.

AS OTHERS HAVE MENTIONED, IT MOVES A GOODLY AMOUNT OF AIR, EVEN ON THE NUMBER ONE SETTING. THE SAME SETTING I TYPICALLY USED FOR THE WINDOW FAN EXCEPT UNDER HOT CONDITIONS. THE WHITE NOISE PRODUCED ON THAT LEVEL IS ALSO IDEAL FOR ME, THOUGH SIGNIFICANTLY QUIETER THAN THE LARGER FAN I SEE NO NEED FOR THE OSCILLATING FUNCTION SO I PULLED THE LITTLE STACK-LIKE THING ON THE BACK OF THE FAN AND HAVE IT ONLY IN STATIONARY POSITION.

IF THE DIAGRAMS ON THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE A BIT MORE OBVIOUS, IT WOULD HAVE HELPED. THAT AND IF I HADN’T MADE IT MORE COMPLICATED THAN IT NEEDED TO BE. OH WELL, RIGHT? BOTTOM LINE. THIS IS A WORTHWHILE PURCHASE AND I DON’T THINK YOU’LL BE DISAPPOINTED.

ALSO. IT’S AESTHETICALLY PLEASING IN ITS FASHIONABLY BLACK FINISH. “EVERY ROOM NEEDS A LITTLE BASIC BLACK,” OR SO I’VE BEEN TOLD. SEEMS TRUE. AND MUCH NICER TO LOOK AT THAN THE WINDOW FAN.

Quite powerful for a desk fan but a little noisy (blade whir). You won’t get a soft, silent breeze out of this fan. Even the lowest setting is rather strong and noisy, especially for a bedroom. Except for the motor and cord it’s all lightweight plastic.
